Je n’avais jamais vu rien de semblable, vraiment, on dirait l’éléphantiasis, des jambes très grosses, et elles étaient toutes irritées et dans un très mauvais état. Et je me rappelle, avant la fin du service, que l’endroit déformé sur les jambes de la dame était redevenu normal et de nouveau rose comme chez un–un bébé.
Je me demande si par hasard la dame serait dans la réunion, ou si elle est encore en vie sur terre. Combien se souviennent de la femme qui était assise dans un fauteuil roulant, recouverte de couverture? Je viens de m’en souvenir, c’était là au fond vers le... au fond de la salle.

[Blank.spot.on.tape--Ed.]... of a lady who set in a wheelchair with--I never had seen anything like it quite, looked like elephantiasis, great huge limbs, and they were all raw and in a very bad shape. And I remember, before the service had ended, that the bad place on the lady's limbs had become normal and pink again like a--a baby.
I wonder if the lady would be in the meeting by chance, or if she's still alive on the earth. How many remembers the woman, setting in a wheelchair, blankets around her? I just remembered, it was way back towards the--this end of the building.

E-2 Eh bien, demain après-midi, comme on me l’a dit, mon cher ami, frère Robert Thoms de l’Afrique du Sud, apportera le message demain après-midi. Ça vous fera du bien d’entendre frère Thoms alors que son coeur fait vibrer un message du–du Christ, comment il a été amené dans l’Evangile, quand il était un marin soulard dans l’armée sud-africaine; comment le Seigneur l’a sauvé et a fait de lui un ministre de l’Evangile. Il a à coeur une oeuvre parmi les indigènes, il fait une grande oeuvre là-bas parmi les indigènes de l’Afrique du Sud.
Et maintenant, nous nous attendons à ce que le Seigneur nous accorde une grande réunion. Demain, c’est un jour de congé comme je l’apprends, un congé ici au Canada. Et peut-être que nous ne travaillerons pas; essayons donc de venir aux réunions.

It would do you good to hear Brother Thoms and his heart thrilling message of--of Christ, that how he had been brought into the Gospel as a drunken sailor of the South African Army. And how the Lord saved him and has made him a minister of the Gospel. And he's got a native work on his heart, doing great work over there among the native people of South Africa.
And now, we're expecting the Lord to give us a great meeting. Tomorrow is a holiday, as I understand, a holiday here in Canada. And we perhaps won't be working, so try to get out to the meetings.

E-3 Maintenant, ce soir... [Frère Branham s’éclaircit la gorge.–N.D.E.] Excusez-moi. Je ne parlerai que quelques instants ce soir, car nous nous préparons à faire passer une ligne de prière afin de prier pour les malades. Donc, depuis que j’ai quitté, je suis en prière. Et je... La plupart du temps, quand je viens dans ce genre de réunions, quand on a de longues réunions, je ne mange pas, ni rien, je jeûne simplement, je prie et je m’attends au Seigneur. Il y a une onction, un Ange du Seigneur. Et ce n’est pas l’onction pour prêcher, car cela opère par un don différent.
Il y a divers dons que Dieu a dans Son Eglise. Mais ils sont tous pour le perfectionnement de l’Eglise, pour unir le grand Corps du Seigneur Jésus-Christ. Et les puissances qui étaient en Christ ont été confiées à Son Eglise. Tout ce que Dieu était, Il l’a déversé en Christ. Et Christ était Dieu manifesté sur la terre. Et tout ce que Christ était, Il l’a déversé dans Son Eglise. Et toutes les puissances que Dieu avait reposaient en Christ, et la plénitude de Christ repose dans Son Eglise. Quel peuple ça devrait donc être!
| E-3 Now, tonight [Brother Branham clears his throat--Ed.] Pardon me. I will not speak but just a little while tonight, because we're fixing to run a prayer line to pray for the sick. Therefore, since I have left, I've been in prayer. And I... Most time in going into these meetings, when you got long meetings, I do not eat or anything, just fast, and pray, and wait on the Lord. It's an anointing, an Angel of the Lord. And it's not the anointing of preaching, because it works under a different gift.
There's many different gifts that God has to His Church. But they're all for the perfecting of the Church to bring together in unity the great Body of the Lord Jesus Christ. And the powers that was in Christ has been given to His Church. All that God was, He poured into Christ. And Christ was God manifested on earth. And all that Christ was, He poured into His Church. And all the powers that God had rested in Christ, and the fulness of Christ rests in His Church. So what a people this should be.

E-4 Mais l’unique chose que j’ai trouvée dans mes voyages, j’ai trouvé deux catégories de gens. L’une d’elles, ce sont des fondamentalistes; l’autre, ce sont des pentecôtistes. Et les fondamentalistes connaissent leur place en Christ, côté position, par élection. Mais ils n’ont pas beaucoup de foi. Les pentecôtistes ont beaucoup de foi, mais ils ne connaissent pas leur position.
C’est juste comme un homme qui a beaucoup d’argent à la banque et qui ne peut pas remplir un chèque, tandis que l’autre peut remplir un chèque, mais il n’a pas d’argent à la banque. Si seulement nous pouvions les mettre ensemble! Soit la foi des pentecôtistes avec la doctrine des fondamentalistes, soit la doctrine des fondamentalistes avec la foi des pentecôtistes, ça marchera.
Si seulement l’église connaissait donc sa position... Et le plus grand obstacle qu’il y a dans l’église, c’est la peur. Les gens ont peur que cela ne marche simplement pas. Eh bien, cela–cela ne marchera pas pour vous, à cette allure-là. Ce n’est simplement pas... cela ne marchera pas de cette manière-là. Ça doit être absolument des croyants, pas de soi-disant croyants, mais des croyants du fond du coeur.
| E-4 But the only thing that I've found in my travel: I found two different types of people. One of them is the fundamentalist; the other is a Pentecostal. And the fundamentalist positionally knows their place in Christ, by election. But they don't have too much faith. The Pentecostal has a lot of faith, but don't know their position.
So it's just like a man that had a lot of money in the bank and couldn't write a check, and the other one could write a check, and didn't have no money in the bank. If we could only get those together. Either Pentecostal faith with fundamental doctrine, or fundamental doctrine with Pentecostal faith, it will work.
So if the Church only knew its position... And the greatest hindrance in the Church is fear. They're afraid that it just won't work. Well, it--it just won't, for you, that way. It just is not--will not work that way; it must be absolutely believers, not make-believers, but believers from your heart.

E-5 Maintenant, pour ne pas vous garder longtemps chaque soir, mais nous aimerions lire une portion de la Parole de Dieu. Eh bien, tout homme qui est capable de bouger ses mains peut bouger ses mains et ouvrir la Parole comme ça. Mais il faut le Saint-Esprit pour réellement ouvrir la Parole. Personne au ciel n’a été trouvé digne, personne sur la terre, ni sous la terre, et Jean pleura avant qu’il ait vu l’Agneau qui a été immolé depuis la fondation du monde venir prendre le Livre de la main droite de Celui qui était assis sur le Trône, et Il a ouvert le Livre et En a brisé les Sceaux.
Je ne suis pas un théologien, je ne connais pas très bien le Livre, mais j’En connais très bien l’Auteur. Je–je Le connais donc, car Il est mon Sauveur, Il me pardonne mes péchés. Et je–je L’aime de tout mon coeur. Et avant que nous cherchions à ouvrir Sa Parole, parlons-Lui juste un instant dans la prière.
| E-5 Now, so that we won't keep you long each night, but we like to read a portion of God's Word. Now, any man that's able to move his hands, can move his hands and open the Word like that. But it takes the Holy Spirit to really open the Word. No man in heaven was worthy, no man in the earth, or beneath the earth, and John wept until he seen a Lamb that had been slain since the foundation of the world, come and take the Book out of the right hand of Him that set upon a throne and open the Book and loose the seals thereof.
I'm not a theologian, I do not know the Book real well, but I know the Author real well. So I--I know Him, because He's my Saviour; He forgives me of my sins. And I--I love Him with all my heart. And before we try to open His Word, let us speak to Him just a moment in prayer.

E-6 Très Bienveillant Père, c’est vraiment un grand plaisir que Tu nous aies accordé de venir auprès de Toi au moyen de la prière. Et nous nous présentons devant Toi maintenant, comme des créatures indignes, des créatures du temps, parlant à Celui qui est Eternel. Mais la raison pour laquelle nous venons, c’est que nous avons été invités à venir par le Seigneur Jésus, Ton Fils bien-aimé, qui nous a dit: «Tout ce que vous demanderez au Père en Mon Nom, Je le ferai.» Et nous embrassons avec une grande tendresse cette invitation, car nous sommes des gens nécessiteux. Oh! Nos besoins sont si nombreux, et nous Te prions, Père, de satisfaire à chaque besoin que nous avons ce soir. Accorde-nous Ta Présence et que la puissance du Seigneur soit présente pour guérir les malades, comme il a été dit une fois dans les Ecritures.
Et nous Te prions de nous pardonner nos péchés, de ramener à la Maison les rétrogrades qui s’étaient éloignés de Dieu, et de sauver les pécheurs. Guéris les malades; réconforte ceux qui sont fatigués. Et quand nous quitterons cette salle ce soir, puissions-nous dire comme ceux qui revenaient d’Emmaüs une nuit... En ce beau premier matin de Pâques, alors que les fleurs fleurissaient, deux disciples déçus, le coeur brisé, cheminaient vers Emmaüs, Cléopas et son ami. Et au cours de leur voyage, Quelqu’Un s’avança et leur parla.
| E-6 Most gracious Father, it is indeed a great pleasure that Thou has given to us to come to Thee by the way of prayer. And we present ourselves to Thee now, as unworthy creatures, creatures of time, speaking to the One Who is eternal. But the reason that we come, we have been bid to come by the Lord Jesus, Thy beloved Son, Who said unto us, "Ask the Father anything in My Name, I'll do it." And we so graciously embrace that invitation, for we are needy people. Oh, our needs are so many, and we pray Father, that You will meet every need that we have need of tonight. Give unto us Thy Presence, and may the power of the Lord be present to heal the sick, as it was once quoted in the Scriptures.
And we pray that You will forgive us of our sins. And You will bring home the backslider that's away from God, and save the sinner. Heal the sick; give comfort to those who are weary. And when we leave this building tonight, may we say like those who were coming from Emmaus one night. On that first beautiful Easter morning, when the flowers were blooming, two broken hearted, disappointed disciples walked along the road towards Emmaus, Cleopas and his friend. And while in their journey, there came One and talked to them.

E-7 Toute la journée, pendant qu’ils parlaient, ils n’avaient pas reconnu exactement Qui C’était. Mais quand les ombres du soir avaient commencé à tomber, et qu’on Lui avait demandé d’entrer et de rester avec eux, une fois à l’intérieur de la maison, les portes fermées, Il a fait quelque chose juste exactement comme Il l’avait fait avant Sa crucifixion. C’était une preuve de Sa résurrection. Personne d’autre au monde n’avait pu faire cela comme Il avait fait. Alors, ces disciples ont reconnu que c’était Lui. Et ils sont vite retournés et ont dit: «Notre coeur ne brûlait-il pas au-dedans de nous lorsqu’Il nous parlait en chemin?»
Et après que ces centaines d’années se sont écoulées, puissions-nous quitter cette salle ce soir en disant la même chose: «Notre coeur ne brûlait-il pas au-dedans de nous lorsqu’Il nous parlait tout au long du service?» Accorde-le, Père. Tu as promis que Tu nous l’accorderais si nous le demandions. Nous le demandons donc avec une foi qui croit, au Nom de Ton Fils bien-aimé, le Seigneur Jésus-Christ. Amen.
| E-7 All day while talking, they did not recognize just Who it was. But when the evening shadows begin to fall, and He was asked to come in and abide with them, once inside the house, the doors closed, He did something just like He did before His crucifixion. It was a proof of His resurrection. No other man in the world could do it like He did. And those disciples knew that it was Him. And quickly they rushed back and said, "Did not our hearts burn within us as He talked to us along the way."
And after these hundreds of years has passed, may we go from this building tonight with the same expression, "Did not our hearts burn within us as He spoke to us along the service." Grant it, Father. Thou hast promised that You would give it to us if we would ask it. So we ask it with faith believing, in the Name of Thy beloved Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

E-8 Juste en guise d’introduction de la réunion ce soir, demain soir, le Seigneur voulant, nous allons prendre un sujet d’évangélisation normale. Mais ce soir, pour vous introduire la campagne, j’ai choisi de lire dans Saint Jean, chapitre 12, verset 20. Et je prie que Dieu bénisse la lecture de Sa Parole. Et nous allons aussi inclure le verset 21.
Quelques Grecs, du nombre de ceux qui étaient montés pour adorer pendant la fête,
s’adressèrent à Philippe, de Bethsaïda en Galilée, et lui dirent avec instance: Seigneur, nous voudrions voir Jésus.
Et j’aimerais tirer mon thème d’Hébreux 13.8. Mon sujet est tiré de cinq derniers versets du passage précédent: Messieurs, nous voudrions voir Jésus. Et voici ce qui est écrit dans Hébreux 13.8:
Jésus-Christ est le même hier, aujourd’hui et éternellement.

But tonight, introducing the campaign to you, I have chosen to read from Saint John the 12th chapter and the 20th verse. And I pray that God will bless the reading of His Word. And we will also include the 21st verse:
And there were certain Greeks among them that came up to worship at the feast:
The same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus.
And I want to take my text from Hebrews 13:8. My subject from the last five words of the preceding reading: "Sirs We Would See Jesus." And Hebrews 13:8 reads like this:
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, to day, and for ever.

E-9 Maintenant, je suppose que dans le monde chaque personne qui ait jamais entendu parler du Seigneur Jésus a éprouvé le même désir que ces Grecs quand ils étaient montés adorer. En effet, jamais quelqu’un n’a entendu parler de ce précieux Nom sans éprouver l’ardent désir de Le voir, jamais. Et leurs coeurs... pourtant c’étaient des érudits. Les Grecs avaient la sagesse, et ils étaient des érudits dans leur domaine. Ils ne désiraient pas Sa sagesse, et ils ne désiraient pas un quelconque art qu’Il avait. Mais leur problème était, leur requête était qu’ils voulaient Le voir. Ils avaient entendu parler de Lui, et ils voulaient Le voir.
Et ce soir, si je disais à cette assistance de gens: «Aimeriez-vous Le voir?», chaque personne ici présente, si cela était demandé, lèverait la main. «J’aimerais Le voir.» Combien aimeraient, juste en guise de–de confirmation, aimeraient Le voir? Autant que je peux voir, c’était cent pour cent. Tout le monde aimerait Le voir.
| E-9 Now, I suppose that every person in the world that ever heard of the Lord Jesus, would have this same desire that these Greeks had when they come up to the worship. For there has no one that's ever heard of that precious Name, but what longs to see Him. And their hearts... yet they were scholars. The Greeks had wisdom, and they were scholars in their fields. They didn't desire His wisdom, and they didn't desire any art that He had. But their question was, and their request, that they wanted to see Him. They'd heard of Him, and they wanted to see Him.
And tonight, if I would say to this audience of people, "Would you love to see Him?" Every person in here, if it was asked, would put up their hand. "I would love to see Him." How many would, just by the way of--of vindication, would love to see Him? As far as I could see, it was a hundred percent. Every one wants to see Him.

E-10 Eh bien, si je demande donc (La Bible déclare qu’Il est le même hier, aujourd’hui et éternellement) pourquoi est-ce que nous n’arrivons pas à Le voir? En effet, si les Ecritures sont vraies, en ce qu’Il est ressuscité d’entre les morts, et que la Bible déclare qu’Il est le même, Il doit être le même en essence, le même quant à la puissance, le même quant à l’attitude, le même quant au motif, Il doit donc être le même Jésus.
Maintenant, voici là où il y a la confrontation. Quand vous discutez, loin du monde civilisé, ou dans le monde, là où il y a d’autres religions, l’islam, le bouddhisme, et les autres, tout ce qu’ils peuvent soutenir, c’est d’avoir un livre. Les musulmans parlent, ils appellent le Coran...
| E-10 Well, I wonder then, if the Bible declares that He is the same yesterday, today, and forever, why is it we can't see Him? For if the Scriptures being right, that He has risen from the dead, and the Bible said He's the same, He's got to be the same in principle, the same in power, the same in attitude, the same in motive; He's just got to be the same Jesus.
Now, here's where the showdown comes. When you're talking out and away from the civilized world, or into the world of different religions, the Mohammedan, and Buddha, and so forth. They only can claim that they have a book. The Mohammedans speaking, call the Koran...

E-11 Il y a quelque temps, un cher ami à moi, son nom est docteur Reedhead, Morris Reedhead, beaucoup parmi vous le connaissent. C’est lui le président des Grandes Missions Soudanaises, la plus grande mission fondamentaliste au monde. Alors, un musulman était venu dans ce pays, et il avait reçu son instruction, je pense, en électronique. Mais sur son chemin de retour, après son instruction dans cette grande école, docteur Reedhead lui a dit: «Fils, maintenant que tu retournes dans ta patrie, pourquoi n’emmènes-tu pas avec toi le Seigneur Jésus-Christ, le Christ ressuscité, et ne renonces-tu pas à ce vieux prophète mort, Mahomet, que tu sers?»
Et le musulman a donné quelques coups de pied par terre, il a levé les yeux vers monsieur Reedhead, et il a dit: «Monsieur Reedhead, gentil monsieur, qu’est-ce que votre Christ peut faire pour moi de plus que mon prophète?» Il a dit: «Ils ont tous deux écrit des livres, ils ont tous deux promis la vie après la mort.» Et il a dit: «Vous croyez votre Livre appelé la Bible; moi, je crois mon livre appelé le Coran.» Il a dit: «Par conséquent, qu’est-ce que votre Jésus peut faire de plus pour moi? Quoi de plus peut-Il plutôt faire que Mahomet ne peut faire?»
| E-11 A good friend of mine some time ago, his name is Doctor Reedhead, Morse Reedhead; many of you know him. He's the president of the great Sudan Missions, the greatest fundamental mission in the world. And a Mohammedan had been brought over to this country and educated, I believe it was for electronics. But on his road back, after his education in this great school, Doctor Reedhead said to him, "Son, when you go back to your homeland, why don't you take with you the Lord Jesus Christ, the resurrected Christ, and renounce that old dead prophet Mohammed that you serve?"
And the Mohammedan scooted his feet on the ground a few times and looked up to Mr. Reedhead, and he said, "Mr. Reedhead, kind sir, what could your Jesus do for me, any more than what my prophet can do?" Said, "They both wrote books, and they both promised life after death." And said, "You believe your Book called the Bible; I believe my book called Koran." He said, "Therefore, what could your Jesus do any more for me, what more could He do, rather, than what Mohammed could do?"

E-12 Et monsieur Reedhead a dit: «Eh bien, votre Mahomet est mort et il est dans la tombe.» Peut-être, plusieurs hommes ici y ont été comme moi. Ils ont un cheval blanc sellé et placé à sa tombe. «Eh bien, a-t-il dit, je sais qu’Il est ressuscité d’entre les morts, a-t-il dit, parce qu’Il est dans mon coeur maintenant même. Et j’ai la joie, la paix, et le bonheur. Par conséquent, a-t-il dit, je sais qu’Il est ressuscité d’entre les morts.»
Et le musulman a regardé le chrétien en face et il a dit: «Eh bien, juste un instant, monsieur Reedhead, l’islam peut produire autant de psychologie que le christianisme. Nous sommes tout aussi heureux, nous pouvons crier aussi fort, et sautiller tout aussi haut, en croyant que Mahomet reviendra et qu’il parcourra le monde à cheval, et qu’il va conquérir le monde, tout autant que vous, en croyant que Jésus reviendra. Ainsi donc, vous ne pouvez pas prouver davantage votre résurrection, pas plus que moi, je ne le peux par mon prophète.»
| E-12 And Mr. Reedhead said, "Well, your Mohammed is dead and in the grave." Perhaps many men here has been to it the same as I. They have a white horse saddled and at his grave. It's been there, changing guards every few hours for the past two thousand years, expecting Mohammed to rise someday, jump on his horse, and ride, and conquer the world.
But said, "Mohammed is dead and in the grave, but Jesus has raised from the dead and He lives."
And the Mohammedan said to Mr. Reedhead, he said, "Did He? I would like to see you prove it to me that He's raised from the dead."
"Well," he said, "I know that He's raised from the dead," said, "because He's in my heart right now. And I have joy and peace, and satisfaction. Therefore," he said, "I know that He has raised from the dead."
And the Mohammedan looked the Christian in the face, and said, "Now, just a moment, Mr. Reedhead, the Mohammedan religion can produce just as much psychology as Christianity can. We're just as happy, can shout just as loud, and jump just as high, believing that Mohammed will come back and ride the world down and conquer the world, as you have believing Jesus will come back. So therefore, you cannot prove any more of your resurrection, than I can by my prophet."

E-13 Et il a dit: «De plus, monsieur Reedhead, a-t-il dit, votre Jésus a promis plus que notre Mahomet. Votre Jésus a promis que vous feriez aussi les oeuvres qu’Il avait faites. «Eh bien, a-t-il dit, il vous a été promis que vous guéririez les malades, que de grands signes et de grands prodiges s’accompliraient.» Il a dit: «Nous attendons voir cela être accompli. Vous avez eu deux mille ans pour prouver qu’Il est ressuscité d’entre les morts, et il n’y a qu’un tiers du monde qui a déjà entendu parler de cela.» Il a dit: «Notre religion musulmane dépasse le christianisme en nombre, de deux fois. Là, ce sont les catholiques et tous les autres compris, et nous croissons deux fois plus vite.» C’est vrai, c’est absolument vrai. Et ils sont élevés sur ce point, nous restons là comme un bétail muet qu’on mène.

He said, "What do you mean by promising?"
Well, he said, "It was promised that you would heal the sick, and great signs and wonders would be done." Said, "We are waiting to see that done. You've had two thousand years to prove that He raised from the dead, and only one third of the world ever heard of it." Said, "We got twice as many in the Mohammedan religion as you have in Christianity, that's Catholic and all, and we're growing twice as fast." That's true; certainly is true. They're up and at it, we set around like dumb driven cattle.

Il a dit: «Mais nous compre-... vous comprenez, monsieur, nous les meilleurs érudits, nous avons appris que Marc 16, du verset 9 jusqu’à la fin, ce ne sont pas des écrits inspirés, cette promesse-là. C’est par erreur que cela a été inséré là.»

He said, "But we under--you understand, sir, we better scholars have learned that Mark 16, from the 9th verse on, is not inspired writing, that promise there. That was put in there falsely."
And the Mohammedan looked at the Christian, he said, "What kind of a Book are you reading?" Said, "All the Koran's inspired. And if just part of your Book is inspired, and other parts are not inspired, how will you know which one is inspired?"

| E-15 Mr. Reedhead said, "I knew right then, I had not come in contact with just an overnight boy. That man knew what he was talking about." He said, "Brother Branham, I kicked my foot in the sand and changed the subject." And he said, "I was called to preach the Gospel at seven years old." And he said, "When I got my B.A.," said, "I thought, surely I'd find Jesus right there; He wasn't there." He said, "When I got my D.D. I thought I would find Jesus there, but He wasn't there." And he said, "I perhaps, got enough degrees, honorary degrees, to plaster your wall, here." He said, "But where is Christ in all of it?" He said, "Has the teachers been wrong?"
And I said, "Sir, I wouldn't want to say the teachers was wrong, what they told you was all right, but there's some more to it."

| E-16 He said, "Now, Brother Branham, I've been in the Pentecostal meetings," and knowing that I was a Baptist, and he said, "I seen them kick over chairs and tear up the furniture. But I want to ask you something: Is there anything to that Holy Ghost that they talk about?"
I said, "Absolutely, it's the truth."
He said, "Then as a Baptist to a Baptist, I want to ask you: Abraham believed God and it was imputed unto him for righteousness." Said, "What more could Abraham do but believe God?"
I said, "That's true. But God give him circumcision as a witness and a confirmation He had received his faith. And no matter how much you profess faith, until God gives you the Holy Spirit, the confirmation, the Seal of God, He's never recognized your faith yet. Ephesians 4:30 says, 'Grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby you're sealed until the day of your redemption.'"
He said, "Mr. Branham, I want the Holy Spirit now."
And on the floor he fell, and broke the glass in the little coffee table as his hand went down there. And Morse Reedhead has received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and is preaching Divine healing in the nation tonight.

Ce sont les sarments qui portent les fruits, en tirant leur vie du cep. Et Christ est notre Vie. Mais vos lèvres sont Ses lèvres quand vous recevez la Vie. Vos mains sont Ses mains quand vous recevez la Vie du Cep. Christ est le Cep de la Vie pour Son Eglise. Et chaque membre est un sarment de Son Eglise.
| E-17 What is it? It's Jesus. Now, if you wanted to see Him, and you raised your hand, that you wanted to see Him... Now, there could be any kind of a false impersonation come in, with a little white robe on, and maybe a little spindly man as Jesus was, and put some nail scars in his hands and deceive you, in that manner. That Person will never come until the rapture of the Church, in that corporal body. For when He comes, every eye shall see Him, every knee shall bow, and every tongue shall confess, when He comes.
But He is here in the person of the Holy Spirit. "I am the Vine; ye are the branches." Now, the vine does not bear fruit. Saint John 15. The vine cannot bear fruit; it's the branches that bears fruit, as it's energized from the vine. And Christ is our energy. But your lips is His lips when you're energized. Your hands is His hands when you're energized from the vine. Christ is the Life Vine of His Church. And each member is the branch of His Church.

Mais si C’est le même hier, aujourd’hui et éternellement, ils L’avaient rejeté en ce temps-là; ils Le rejetteront aujourd’hui.
Dieu retire Son homme, mais jamais Son Esprit. L’Esprit d’Elie–d’Elie est venu sur Elisée. Plusieurs centaines d’années plus tard, Il est venu sur Jean-Baptiste et Il l’a fait agir exactement comme Elisée.
Le diable retire son homme, mais jamais son esprit. L’esprit d’antichrist n’est donc pas le communisme. C’est un esprit religieux. Jésus nous a avertis là-dessus dans Matthieu 24. Les deux esprits seraient si proches qu’ils séduiraient même les élus dans les derniers jours, si c’était possible.
| E-18 Now, if we wanted to be sure that we were right, how would we know that He is the same yesterday, today, and forever? How would we know when we seen Him? Now, if we was talking physically, would... Let's just take it physically for a few moments. Would we go to find a man that was real nattily dressed? No, sir, He wasn't. Would we find a man that like some great bishop? No, sir. He did not have much dealings with such people. He would've had it, if they would've had Him. But if it's the same yesterday, today, and forever, they rejected Him then; they'll reject Him now.
God takes His man, but never His Spirit. The Spirit of Elijah-- Elijah came on Elisha. Several hundred years later it came on John the Baptist and made him act just like Elisha.
The devil takes his man, but never his spirit. So the spirit of antichrist is not communism; it's a religious spirit. Jesus warned us of that in Matthew 24. The two spirits would be so close together, till it would deceive the very elect in the last days, if it was possible.

E-19 Remarquez donc: Quel genre de personne chercherions-nous? Quelqu’un qui utilisait un langage grandiloquent? Son langage était si ordinaire que la Bible dit: «Les gens du peuple L’écoutaient avec joie.» La Bible a été écrite dans un langage si ordinaire que des traducteurs sont tout bouleversés aujourd’hui par cela.

Je n’arrivais pas à comprendre ce langage populaire de ces Londoniens. Je–je n’y arrivais simplement pas. On dirait que ça résonnait quelque part là au fond de leur poitrine, lorsqu’ils parlaient. Et pour vous montrer la différence, j’ai téléphoné New York depuis Miami, en Floride, une nuit, afin de prier pour un homme malade, et il y avait tellement de différence entre la petite opératrice de New York et celle de Miami, la petite jeune fille du sud, qu’il a fallu qu’une jeune fille à Saint Louis leur serve d’interprète entre les deux. Là, c’est aux USA.
La Bible a donc été écrite dans un langage ordinaire, et les traducteurs cherchent à La rendre à un niveau très élevé et, par conséquent, ils ne peuvent simplement pas comprendre le sens. Dieu a fait ça à dessein. Il a dit: «J’ai caché cela aux sages et aux intelligents, et je révèlerai cela aux enfants qui veulent apprendre.» Dieu l’a fait à dessein. Ne vous en faites pas. Les grandes roues du temps de Dieu évoluent bien parfaitement en ordre. Dieu n’est pas désordonné, c’est vous et moi qui sommes désordonnés, c’est ce qui fait cela.
| E-19 Now, notice, what type of person would we find? Someone that used great eloquent speech? His speech was so common until the Bible said, "The common people heard Him gladly." The Bible was written in such common language till the translators are all turned around today by it.
Now, in America, we're supposed to speak English. But if I ever needed an interpreter, it was when I was in London. I could not understand that cockney speech; I--I just couldn't do it. It sound like way down in their chest somewhere, they were speaking. And to show you the difference, I called from Miami, Florida, to New York one night, to pray for a sick man, and there was such a difference between the little operator at New York and the one at Miami, the little southern girl, till they had to get a girl in St. Louis to interpret for both. That's in the U.S.A.
So the Bible was written in ordinary language, and the translators are trying to get it up in some great high bracket; and therefore, they can't get the meaning. God did that purposely. He said, "I have hid it from the eyes of the wise and prudent, and will reveal it to babes such as will learn." God did it purposely. Don't worry; God's great time wheels are moving just perfectly in order. It's not God out of order, it's you and I out of order, is what does it.

Si je demandais à un méthodiste ici, il dirait: «C’est pour cela que nous combattons.» Si je demandais à un baptiste, il dirait: «C’est pour cela que nous combattons.» Si je demandais à un pentecôtiste, il dirait: «C’est pour cela que nous combattons.» Et si je demandais à un nazaréen, il dirait: «C’est pour cela que nous combattons.» Si je demandais au catholique, il dirait: «C’est pour cela que nous combattons.»
Eh bien, je crois que c’est vrai, d’après votre entendement. Mais il n’y a qu’un seul moyen pour être sûr, c’est de retourner dans la Bible voir le genre de foi qu’ils avaient, et ensuite combattre ardemment pour cela. Cela revient à mettre les baptistes, les presbytériens, les pentecôtistes, et tous les autres d’un côté, à examiner directement la Parole de Dieu pour voir ce qu’Elle dit de cela.
| E-20 Now, if we wanted to look at Him and to know... I believe we're told by Jude in the 3rd verse (There's only one chapter.), that we should earnestly contend for the faith that was once delivered to the saints. As far as I know, that's the only place in the Bible that we're--we are asked to contend. But that was to contend for--not a faith, but the faith that was once delivered to the saints.
If I'd ask a Methodist here, they'd say, "That's what we're contending for." I'd ask a Baptist, they would say, "That what we're contending for." If I'd ask a Pentecostal, "That's what we're contended for." And if I'd ask the Nazarene, "That's what we're contending for." If I'd ask the Catholic, they'd say, "That's what we're contending for."
Well, I believe that's true, to your understanding. But there's only one way to be positive, and that's to go back in the Bible and see what kind of a faith they had, and then earnestly contend for that. That is, laying the Baptist, the Presbyterian, the Pentecostal, and all to one side, going right back into God's Word and seeing what It says about it.

E-21 Maintenant, mon sujet, ma pensée plutôt, ce soir, et le thème de la campagne, c’est ceci, que Jésus-Christ n’est pas mort. Béni soit Son Nom, Il est vivant aux siècles des siècles, et l’unique Médiateur entre Dieu et l’homme, Jésus-Christ. Et Il est vivant aujourd’hui. Il est vivant. Et Il est omniprésent, omnipotent, omniscient, Il est infini, immortel, le Fils du Dieu vivant et Il ne change jamais et Il ne changera jamais.
Remarquez, si cela ne peut pas être prouvé, alors ce n’est que de la théologie ordinaire; c’est juste un discours ordinaire de chaque jour. Mais si cela est prouvé, c’est donc vrai, et cela mérite qu’on vive et qu’on meure pour cela, si c’est la vérité.
| E-21 Now, my subject, my thought, rather, tonight, and the campaign thought is this, that Jesus Christ is not dead. Blessed be His Name, He is alive forevermore, and the only Mediator between God and man, Christ Jesus. And He lives today; He's alive. And He's omnipresent, omnipotent, omniscient, He's the infinite, immortal, Son of the living God and He never changes and never will.
Notice, if that cannot be proved, then it's just common theology; it's just common everyday talking. But if it is proved, then it's right, and it's worth living and dying for, if it is the truth.

Mais les mêmes composants chimiques qui sont dans tout l’océan se retrouvent dans une cuillerée d’eau, ce sont les mêmes composants chimiques; seulement, ce n’est pas la même quantité de cela. Nous avons cela avec mesure. Lui avait Cela sans mesure.
| E-22 Let us turn back in the pages of time, and let's take the precious Book tonight, and you just place it in your mind. If you want to follow me, all right, if you do not, then read it when you go home or tomorrow in the quietness of your room. Let's go to the blessed Book of Saint John and take the 1st chapter.
We find out, that after the birth of Jesus and after He was baptized by the Holy Spirit... And He received the Spirit without measure. We receive the Spirit by measure. But He received It without measure. The Fulness of the Godhead bodily dwelt in Christ. God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself. We are just gifts of God to His Church.
Therefore, the Spirit that was in Jesus, was like all the water in the world. And the gifts of the Spirit from Jesus, is like a spoonful of that same water. But the chemicals that's in the entire ocean, is in a spoonful of water; it's the same chemicals, just not as much of it. We have it by measure; He had it without measure.

| E-23 Now, notice, when He started His earthly ministry, the first thing taken place, He begin to preach the Gospel to the poor. And the poor received Him. And immediately He begin praying for the sick. Great signs and wonders begin to happening. It stirred the curiosity of the people.
Now, we'll take one of His first miracles. The strange thing was, when Simon Peter came to Him, now He had never seen him in his life, but He knew who he was. And He called him by name and told him who his daddy was. "Thou art Simon, the son of Jonas. But from hereafter you shall be called Peter." Strange, it startled the fisherman.

E-24 Et puis, il y eut un homme dont nous parlons ce soir, du nom de Philippe, il fut sauvé en croyant au Seigneur Jésus, et il s’est beaucoup soucié d’en parler à tout le monde. Il avait un cher ami du nom de Nathanaël. Et alors, il est allé de l’autre côté de la montagne, depuis là où Jésus était en train de prêcher, là en Galilée, il trouve Nathanaël sous un arbre, en train de prier. Peut-être, je pense, on dit que ça fait environ trente miles [48 km] de parcours, de l’autre côté de la montagne.
Ainsi donc, le lendemain, pendant que Jésus continuait dans Sa ligne de prière... Maintenant, regardons et voyons ce qu’Il était hier. Si nous arrivons à trouver ce qu’Il était hier, Il doit être le même aujourd’hui, s’Il est le même. Eh bien, ne laissez pas cela vous passer par-dessus. Laissez cela s’ancrer. Mettons simplement nos différences de côté maintenant. S’Il est aujourd’hui le même qu’hier, Il doit donc faire la même chose qu’Il faisait hier.
| E-24 And then there was the man that we are speaking of tonight by the name of Philip, and he got saved by believing on the Lord Jesus, and he was so anxious to tell everybody about it. He had a good friend, by the name of Nathanael. And so he goes around the mountain from where Jesus was preaching here at Galilee, and finds Nathanael under a tree, praying. Perhaps, I think they claim about thirty miles around the mountain, the journey would've been.
And so the next day, while Jesus was continuing in His prayer line, now let us watch and see what He was yesterday. If we can find what He was yesterday, He's got to be the same today if He is the same. Now, just don't let that pass over you; let it settle. Just lay aside our differences now. If He is the same today that He was yesterday, then He has to do the same that He did yesterday.

E-25 Et après sa conversion, Philippe a trouvé Nathanaël sous un arbre en train de prier, il a dit: «Viens voir Qui nous avons trouvé, Jésus de Nazareth, le Fils de Joseph.»
Et vous savez, ce Nathanaël était un croyant orthodoxe. Je peux bien le voir se relever, épousseter sa robe et dire: «Eh bien, peut-il venir de Nazareth quelque chose de bon?» Voyez, il était membre de la haute église. Et il voulait savoir s’il pouvait venir de Nazareth quelque chose de bon.
Et je pense que Philippe lui a donné la meilleure réponse que quelqu’un puisse lui donner, il a dit: «Viens, et vois.» «Ne reste pas à côté à critiquer, viens, et vois toi-même.»
Et ils se sont engagés en route vers l’autre côté, s’entretenant, et ils sont arrivés là où Jésus était. Le lendemain, quand ces tendres yeux ont vu Philippe venir avec Nathanaël, Jésus s’est retourné, Il a regardé Nathanaël, et Il a dit: «Voici un Israélite dans lequel il n’y a point de fraude.»
Et cela a étonné le petit orthodoxe et ce dernier a dit: «Rabbi, quand m’as-Tu connu? Eh bien, c’est la première fois que nous nous voyons donc. Je ne T’ai jamais vu de ma vie, Toi non plus, Tu ne m’as jamais vu. Et comment as-Tu su que j’étais un homme juste et honnête, un croyant?»
| E-25 And after Philip's conversion, and he found Nathanael under a tree praying, he said, "Come, see Who we have found, Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of Joseph."
And you know this Nathanael was a orthodox believer. I can just see him raise up, and brush off his robe, and said, "Now, could there be any good thing come out of Nazareth?" See, he belonged to the high church. And he wanted to know if any good thing can come from Nazareth.
And I think Philip give him the best answer that any man could give him, said, "Come and see." Don't set off and criticize, come, see for yourself.
And on the road around as they talked, and they came up to where Jesus was the next day, and when those lovely eyes seen Philip coming up with Nathanael, Jesus turned, and looked to Nathanael, and He said, "Behold, an Israelite in whom is no guile."
And it astonished the little orthodox, and he said, "Rabbi, when did You know me? Why, this is the first time we've ever met. I have never seen You in my life, neither have You seen me. And how would You know that I was a just and honest man, a believer?"

| E-26 Now, all men dressed just alike in them days, wore beards and garments just alike. He could've been a Greek or something else, but He said he's an Israelite in whom is no guile. It astonished him, that miracle. And he said, "How did You know me?"
Oh, don't let this pass you. Jesus said, "Yesterday, while you were under the tree, I saw you." Thirty miles around the mountain, but "I saw you when you were under the tree."
That little Jew raised up, and he said, "Rabbi, You are the Son of God; You are the King of the Israel."
Jesus said, "Because I told you this you believe? You'll see greater things than this."

Suivez ce que Jésus leur a dit, Il a dit: «Vous Me taxez de Béelzébul, Je vais vous pardonner, mais quand le Saint-Esprit sera venu faire la même chose, un seul mot contre Cela ne sera jamais pardonné ni dans ce siècle, ni dans le siècle à venir.»
Gardez cela à l’esprit. Jésus a dit: «Quand le Saint-Esprit sera venu et qu’Il fera la même chose qu’Il avait faite, cela ne sera jamais pardonné, d’avoir parlé contre Cela.» C’est Sa Parole. Qui contestera cela? En effet, ils avaient taxé l’Esprit de Dieu qui était en Lui, qui accomplissait ces miracles, d’un esprit impur, d’un diseur de bonne aventure, ou d’un médium, ou quelque chose comme cela, Béelzébul.
| E-27 Now, that was the Jewish expression, I mean the believing Jew. Philip expressed the thoughts of the real true believing Jew. But what did the church group do? They said, "This man is Beelzebub, mental telepathy, fortuneteller."
Watch what Jesus said to them, He said, "You call Me Beelzebub; I'll forgive you; but when the Holy Ghost is come to do the same thing, one word against It will be never forgiven in this world or the world to come."
Bear that in mind. Jesus said, "When the Holy Ghost came and done the same thing that He did, there would never be forgiveness of speaking against It." That's His Word. Who would dispute It? Because they called the Spirit of God in Him, working those miracles, an unclean spirit, like a fortuneteller, or some medium or something, Beelzebub.

E-28 Maintenant, nous Le trouvons sur Son chemin vers... descendant à Jéricho, au chapitre 4 de Saint Jean. Et sur Son chemin vers Jéricho, il Lui a fallu passer par la Samarie. Je me demande pourquoi. Vous allez saisir cela dans quelques instants. Et vers midi, Il a renvoyé Ses disciples dans la ville acheter des vivres.
Et dans l’ancien monde, ils avaient des puits, d’où ils puisaient de l’eau. Et toutes les femmes sortaient tôt le matin avec des cruches et... J’appelle cela des cruches, celles-ci avaient d’énormes anses de côté, ils avaient des crochets qu’on faisait passer par là, et un treuil descendait dans le puits, et elles puisaient de l’eau, elles remontaient cela à l’aide d’un treuil.
Et les dames se tenaient toutes là et parlaient, juste comme des dames peuvent le faire, vous savez. Et elles prennent toutes... et parfois, elles peuvent mettre une cruche d’eau sur la tête, et une autre cruche à chaque hanche, et parcourir la rue en causant, entretenant une conversation, sans jamais déverser une goutte. Comment elles s’y prennent, je ne sais pas. Mais je les ai observées.
| E-28 Now, we find Him, on His road going up to--down to Jericho in the 4th chapter of Saint John. And on His road down to Jericho, He had need to go by Samaria, I wonder why? You'll get to it in a few moments. And when it was about noontime He sent His disciples away in the city to buy vittles.
And in the old world they have wells that they draw their water from. And all the women come out early of a morning with the pitchers and... I call them pitchers; they got like great big handles on them, and they got hooks that goes on this, and a windle goes down into the well, and they get the water, and bring it back up on a windle.
And the ladies all stand out there and talk, just as ladies can do, you know. And they get all--and sometimes they can put a pitcher of water on their head and one on each hip, walk right down the street talking, carrying a conversation, and never spill a drop. How they do it, I don't know. But I've watched them.

Elle est allée au puits vers midi puiser de l’eau. On croit généralement qu’elle ne pouvait pas sortir avec les–avec les femmes décentes de la ville. C’était donc vers midi, elle est sortie puiser de l’eau. Et alors qu’elle faisait descendre la–la bouilloire pour puiser de l’eau, ou plutôt la cruche... Quand elle faisait descendre cela, elle a vu Quelqu’Un assis, adossé au mur, c’est un petit panorama... Et généralement, des plantes rampantes poussent là-dessus, des raisins et autres. Alors, elle a regardé, un Juif était assis là, Il était assis là. Un Homme seulement dans la trentaine, mais d’après les Ecritures, Il paraissait avoir cinquante ans. Vous savez, ils ont dit: «Toi, un Homme de pas plus de cinquante ans, Tu dis avoir vu Abraham! Maintenant, nous savons que Tu as un démon.»
Il a dit: «Avant qu’Abraham fût, JE SUIS.»
| E-29 This was up in the day, it must have been around noon, and there was a lady in the city, as we believe to be a--a woman of ill fame, prostitute. And she came out to the well about noon to get water. It's commonly believed that she could not come out with the--with the decent women of the city. And so it was about noon, she came out to get water. And as she let the--the kettle down to get the water, or the pitcher... When she let it down she looked, setting over against the wall, which is a little panoramic... And vines usually grow over it, grapes and so forth. And she looked, setting there, and there set a Jew. A Man was only in His thirties, but according to the Scripture He looked to be about fifty. You know they said, "You're not yet fifty years old and say you saw Abraham, now we know you got a devil."
He said, "Before Abraham was, I AM."

E-30 Mais Il paraissait avoir environ cinquante ans. Il était assis là, adossé au mur. Et quand cette femme commençait à faire descendre la cruche pour puiser de l’eau, Il a dit: «Femme, apporte-Moi à boire.»

Et Il a dit: «Si tu connaissais Celui à qui tu parles, c’est toi qui M’aurais demandé à boire.»
«Eh bien, a-t-elle dit, le puits est profond, et Tu n’as rien pour puiser.» C’était là Jésus hier. Ce n’était donc pas là une Juive, celle-ci est une Samaritaine. Elle a dit: «Tu n’as rien pour puiser.»
La conversation s’est poursuivie longtemps sur le puits que Jacob avait creusé, sur l’adoration à Jérusalem, ou sur la montagne. Et finalement, Jésus a contacté son esprit, Il a dit: «Va chercher ton mari et viens ici.»
Elle a dit: «Je n’ai point de mari.»
Il a dit: «C’est vrai, tu en as eu cinq, et celui avec qui tu vis maintenant n’est pas ton mari.»
Et elle a dit: «Seigneur...» Ecoutez donc cette Samaritaine. Qu’est-ce que le Juif a dit quand cela avait été accompli sur lui? «Tu es le Fils de Dieu.» C’était là le signe du Messie. Maintenant, regardez ce que la Samaritaine a dit, elle a dit: «Seigneur, nous savons que quand le Messie sera venu, c’est ce qu’Il fera, Il nous annoncera ces choses. Mais Toi, qui es-Tu? Tu dois être un Prophète.»
Il a dit: «Je suis le Messie.»
Elle est entrée dans la ville en courant, elle a annoncé à ces Samaritains: «Venez voir un Homme qui m’a dit ce que j’ai fait. Ne serait-ce point le Messie même?»
| E-30 But He looked to be about fifty years old, setting, leaning back against the wall. And as the woman started to put her kettle down to get the water, He said, "Woman, bring Me a drink."
She turned quickly, because there was a law of segregation. Just like in the states, in the south now, between the white and the colored, a law of segregation. She said, "You Jews have no dealings with Samaritans, and it's not customary. It's not a custom for a Jew to have any dealings with a Samaritan."
And He said, "But if you knew Who you were talking to, you'd ask Me for a drink."
"Why," she said, "the well is deep, and You have nothing to draw with." That was Jesus yesterday; that wasn't a Jew now; this is a Samaritan. She said, "You have nothing to draw with."
The conversation went on at length about Jacob digging the well, about worshipping in Jerusalem, or in the mountain. And finally, Jesus contacting her spirit, said, "Go, get your husband and come here."
She said, "I don't have any husband."
He said, "That's right, you've got five, and the one you're now living with is not your husband."
And she said, "Sir..." Listen to this Samaritan now. What do the Jews say when that was performed on him? "You're the Son of God." That was the sign of the Messiah. Now, look what the Samaritan said. She said, "Sir, we know that when the Messiah cometh, He will do this, tell us these things. But, Who are You? You must be a prophet."
He said, "I am He, the Messiah."
And she ran into the city and told those Samaritan people, "Come, see a Man, Who told me the things I done: isn't this the very Messiah?"

E-31 Si c’était là le signe du Messie en ce moment-là, et qu’Il est le même hier, aujourd’hui et éternellement, ça doit être le signe du Messie ce soir. C’est ce que les Juifs pensaient. C’est ce que les Samaritains pensaient. Qu’en pensez-vous, vous les Gentils? Vous êtes des Occidentaux, c’est aujourd’hui votre jour. Là, c’était leur jour. C’est aujourd’hui votre jour. Christ est tenu d’être le même vis-à-vis de vous qu’Il l’était vis-à-vis d’eux, sinon Il ferait acception de gens. Il est tenu de faire cela.
Considérons-Le dans un autre passage des Ecritures. Il y avait des gens qui pleuraient. Il avait trouvé qu’Il devait aller visiter la maison de Jaïrus pour guérir sa fillette. Il y avait une femme qui souffrait d’une perte de sang, elle s’est dit dans son coeur: «Si seulement j’arrive à toucher le vêtement de cet Homme, je serai guérie.» Elle s’est faufilée dans la foule jusqu’à ce qu’elle eût touché Son vêtement.
Physiquement, Il n’avait pas senti cela, le vêtement palestinien étant un vêtement ample. Et ils portent un autre vêtement en dessous qui descend jusque pratiquement au niveau des genoux, pour se protéger contre la poussière. Pendant qu’ils parcourent la route, cela ramasse la poussière et ça monte, et c’est la raison pour laquelle ils se lavaient les pieds. Ils étaient couverts de poussière. Et le long du chemin, là où les chevaux et les animaux passent, il y a une odeur nauséabonde qui émane de la poussière. Ils doivent donc laver cela avant d’être à l’aise, ou–ou qu’ils se sentent le bienvenu dans une maison comme invités, on leur lave les pieds.
| E-31 If that was the sign of the Messiah then, and He's the same yesterday, today, and forever, it's got to be the sign of Messiah tonight. That's what the Jews thought. That's what the Samaritans thought. What do you Gentiles think about it? You're western people; this is your day. That was their day; this is your day. Christ is obligated to be the same to you as He was to them, or there's a respect of person in Him. He's obligated to do it.
Let's take Him one more Scripture. There was some people crying, He'd saw He must go visit Jairus' house and heal his little girl. And there was a woman with a blood issue, and she said within her heart, "If I can only touch that Man's garment, I'll be made well." And she pressed through the crowd until she touched His garment.
Physically He did not feel it, the Palestinian garment is a loose garment. And they have a underneath garment that goes down about the knees, to keep the dust off. As they walk the road picks up the dust and comes up, and that's the reason they washed their feet; they're dusty. And along the road where the horses is, and animals, they have an awful smell of the dust, so they have to wash it off before they are fit--or--or feel welcome to come into a house of a guest; they wash their feet.

E-32 Et l’homme le moins payé de tout le groupe, c’est le laquais laveur des pieds. Et Jésus s’est fait laquais laveur des pieds. Et alors, nous pensons être quelqu’un du fait que nous pouvons conduire un véhicule et avoir soixante dollars de salaire par semaine. Et alors, nous pensons être quelqu’un, il nous faut simplement nous occuper et on doit avoir ce qu’il y a de meilleur, sinon nous n’y allons pas.
Qu’en est-il des prophètes qui errèrent çà et là en peaux de brebis et en peaux de chèvres, dans des déserts, dénués de tout et crevant de faim? La Bible dit dans Hébreux, chapitre 11: «Eux dont le monde n’était pas digne.» Considérez ce que le christianisme exige aujourd’hui: De beaux sièges en peluche, un orateur éloquent et intelligent qui ne dépasse pas quinze minutes. Oh! la la! Des prédicateurs, on doit leur promettre beaucoup de choses, sinon ils n’iront pas à un certain endroit. Ils n’assumeront pas les fonctions de pasteur si on ne leur donne pas tant d’argent, une Cadillac chaque année, et tout.
C’est une disgrâce, c’est vrai. Nous n’avons pas le droit de réclamer pareille chose. Eh bien, vous pouvez penser que je suis un prédicateur très dur, mais mon frère, la vérité reste la vérité. Nous devons faire face à cela.
| E-32 And the lowest paid man in the whole group is a flunky that washes the feet. And how Jesus become a foot-wash flunky. And then we think we're somebody, because we can ride in an automobile and get sixty dollars a week wages. And then we think we're somebody, and we just have to go about and have to have the very best or we won't go.
How about the prophets who wandered about in sheepskin and goatskin, deserts, and destitute, and starved. The Bible said in Hebrews the 11th chapter, "Whom the world is not worthy of such people." And look what a requirement Christianity gives today. Nice plush seats, a smart eloquent speaker, not over fifteen minutes. Oh, my. Preachers have to be promised so much or they won't go to a certain place. They won't take pastoral 'less they give them so much money, a cadillac each year, and so forth.
It's a disgrace, that's right, we got no right to require such as that. Now, you may think I'm an awful hard preacher, but my brother, truth is truth. We must face it.

E-33 Cette petite femme toucha Son vêtement, elle rentra en courant, elle se tint dans l’assistance, et Jésus s’arrêta et dit: «Qui M’a touché?»
Eh bien, Pierre Le reprit, disant: «Mais toute la foule Te touche. Pourquoi dis-Tu: ‘Qui M’a touché?’»
Il a dit: «Mais J’ai connu que Je suis devenu faible; la vertu, la force M’a quitté. Quelqu’un M’a touché.»
C’était là Jésus hier. La Bible dit qu’Il est aujourd’hui le Souverain Sacrificateur qui peut être touché par le sentiment de nos infirmités. Il est le même hier, aujourd’hui et éternellement.
Il promena le regard, eux tous avaient nié cela, elle aussi, eux tous avaient nié cela. Mais Il était revêtu de la puissance, le Saint-Esprit. Il promena le regard sur l’assistance jusqu’à repérer celle qui L’avait touché. Et Il a dit: «Ta foi t’a sauvée de cette perte de sang.»
| E-33 This little woman touched His garment, and she run back, stood in the audience, and Jesus stopped and said, "Who touched Me?"
Why Peter rebuked Him, said, "The whole crowd's a touching You. Why do you say, 'Who touched Me'?"
He said, "But I perceive that I've gotten weak, virtue, strength has gone from Me. Somebody touched Me."
That was Jesus yesterday. The Bible said today that He's the High Priest that can be touched by the feeling of our infirmities. He's the same yesterday, today, and forever.
He looked around; every one of them denied it; she denied it; all denied it. But He was endued with power, the Holy Spirit. He watched over that audience until He found the one that touched Him. And He said, "Thy faith has saved thee from that blood issue."

E-34 C’était là Jésus hier, s’Il est le même aujourd’hui, Il doit être le même. Il fera la même chose. Il agira de même. Et si Son Eglise a reçu Son Esprit, Elle agira comme Christ.
Si je vous disais que j’avais en moi l’esprit d’un hors-la-loi, comme John Dillinger, vous vous attendriez à ce que j’aie de gros revolvers et qu’il soit dangereux d’être à mes côtés, si son esprit était en moi. Si je vous disais que j’avais l’esprit d’un célèbre artiste, vous vous attendriez à ce que je sois à mesure de saisir des vagues de... ou le coucher du soleil et tout, et de peindre cela comme cet artiste-là, si son esprit est en moi.
Oh! J’espère que cela pénètre profondément. Mais si l’Eglise chrétienne a l’Esprit de Christ, Elle accomplira les oeuvres de Christ, c’est ce que Christ a dit, si l’Esprit est dans l’Eglise. Pour quelle foi combattez-vous? Nous sommes juste des chrétiens de confession. Nous pouvons être des chrétiens par une confession froide et formaliste. Nous pouvons être des chrétiens par une foi radicale, enthousiaste et hystérique. Mais chez un vrai chrétien, l’Esprit de Christ reproduit la Bible, car c’est Son Esprit.
| E-34 That was Jesus yesterday, if He's the same today, He has to be the same. He will do the same; He will act the same. And if His Church has got His Spirit, they'll be like Christ.
If I told you I had the spirit of some outlaw in me like John Dillinger, you'd expect me to have big guns and be dangerous to be around me, if his spirit was in me. If I told you I had the spirit of some famous artist, you'd expect me to be able to catch the waves of the--or the sunset and so forth, and paint like that artist, if his spirit is in me.
Oh, I hope this goes home. But if the Christian Church has got the Spirit of Christ, they'll do the works of Christ; Christ said so. If the Spirit is in the Church. What faith are you to contend for? We're just Christians by profession. We might be Christians by cold formal profession; we might be Christians by radical, enthusiastic, hysterical faith. But a real Christian, the Spirit of Christ produces the Bible again, for it's His Spirit.

E-35 Maintenant, encore un passage des Ecritures, Saint Jean 5. Il est allé dans une ville, Béthesda, une place où des centaines et des centaines de gens étaient couchés, en grand nombre. Si je comprends bien, il faut deux mille pour faire un grand nombre. Il y avait là des aveu-... des aveugles, des estropiés, des boiteux, des paralytiques. Regardez quelle pagaille c’était. Les historiens nous rapportent qu’ils se poignardaient en cherchant à entrer dans l’eau le premier. En effet, un ange venait là où l’eau se déversait sous ces cinq portiques, parmi ces douze jets... L’eau jaillissait, et quand l’eau retournait dans ce sens-ci, un ange était là, agitant l’eau. Et le premier à y entrer avec foi, mettant à l’épreuve sa foi, face à l’eau, était guéri de toute maladie dont il souffrait. Des milliers étaient couchés, attendant.
Et lors de la guérison de cette femme, Jésus passe par ici avec tout ce grand nombre de gens, Il a dépassé carrément chacun d’eux, et Il est allé trouver un homme couché sur un grabat. Je ne sais pas si vous les Canadiens, vous savez ce que c’est un grabat ou pas. Combien savent ce que c’est un grabat? Eh bien, c’est... la plupart parmi vous le savent. J’ai grandi sur un, c’est juste une couverture piquée et un oreiller posés à côté de la porte; juste un petit grabat.
| E-35 Now, one more Scripture, Saint John 5. He went into a place, Bethesda, a place where hundreds and hundreds of people lay, great multitudes. If I understand right, it takes two thousand to make one multitude. There was in there bli--blind, lame, halt, and withered. Look what a mess that was. Historians tell us that they stabbed one another trying to get in the water first. For an Angel come where the water is poured out under these five porches of these twelve spouts. The waters come out, and when the waters come back this a way, an Angel was standing there troubling the water. The first one stepping in with faith, testing their faith against the water, got healed of whatsoever disease they had. Thousands laid waiting.
And at the healing of this woman, here come Jesus down through here with all these multitudes of people, passed right by every one of them and went and found a man laying on a pallet. I don't know whether you Canadians know what a pallet is or not. How many knows what a pallet is? Well, it's--most of you do. I was raised on one, just a quilt and a pillow laying at the door; that's a little pallet.

E-36 Alors, cet homme était couché sur un petit grabat, pour ainsi dire. Et comme Jésus savait qu’il était là... Suivez l’Ecriture attentivement maintenant alors que je termine. Jésus savait qu’il était là et Il savait qu’il était malade depuis trente-huit ans. Eh bien, il n’était pas estropié, il n’était pas non plus boiteux, ni infirme. Il n’était pas aveugle. Mais disons qu’il avait une espèce de maladie, du genre tuberculose, prostatite. Il... Cela avait duré, ça n’allait pas le tuer, il en avait souffert pendant trente-huit ans. Jésus savait tout à ce sujet. Et Il s’est avancé vers lui et a dit: «Veux-tu être guéri?» C’était là Jésus hier, suivez-Le.
Et il a dit: «Je n’ai personne pour me jeter dans l’eau.»
Il a dit: «Prends ton lit et rentre chez toi.» Il a pris... il n’a point mis en doute. Il a simplement pris son lit, l’a mis sur son épaule, et il a poursuivi son chemin: Saint Jean 5.
| E-36 And this man was laying on a little pallet, as to say. And when Jesus knew he was there... Watch the Scripture, closely now as I close. Jesus knew he was there and knew he had been sick for thirty-eight years. Now, he wasn't crippled; neither was he lame, or halt; he wasn't blind. But let's say he had some kind of disease like TB, prostate trouble. He... It was retarded; it wasn't going to kill him, he had had it thirty-eight years. Jesus knew all about it. And He walked over to him and said, "Will thou be made whole?" That's Jesus yesterday, watch Him.
And he said, "I have no one to put me in the water."
Said, "Take up your bed and go to your house." He picked--never questioned; he just picked up his bed, put it on his shoulder, went on his road: Saint John 5.

E-37 Maintenant, lisons le verset 19. Il fut interrogé par les Juifs. Pensez-vous qu’Il serait interrogé ce soir à Edmonton s’Il était ici? | E-37 Now, let's read the 19th verse. He'd been questioned by the Jews. You think you'd be questioned tonight in Edmonton if He was here? How did He pass by thousands of people, lame, blind, halt and withered, and heal one man like that, and walk away, and leave the rest of them laying there? Now, listen at Him, watch His Scripture now. Saint John 5:19. Don't fail to read it. Jesus answered this: "Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing in Himself, but what He sees the Father doing: that doeth the Son likewise."
How many ever read that in the Bible? That show you're Bible readers. Then Jesus Christ never performed one miracle, or did one thing, until first God the Father showed Him what to do by a vision, according to His own Word. "Verily, verily (that's absolutely, absolutely), I say unto you, the Son can do nothing in Himself, but what He sees the Father doing: that doeth the Son likewise."

Il a dit: «Encore un peu de temps, et le monde ne Me verra plus.» Que tous ceux qui ont déjà lu ce passage de l’Ecriture disent: «Amen.» «Encore un peu de temps, et le monde (Le mot qui est là, c’est cosmos, qui veut dire l’ordre du monde, les gens du monde.), le monde ne Me verra plus, mais vous, vous Me verrez (C’est l’Eglise.), car Je (pronom personnel) serai avec vous jusqu’à la fin du monde.»
| E-38 Now, read the prophets; read the Christ; and find out if any man ever did anything by his own will or his own thoughts. He always did it according to what God showed him to do. No man can take glory, not even to the Son of man. The glory goes to God alone.
Now, that was Jesus yesterday, if He's the same He's got to be the same today. Now, notice this, in close now. We see what He did yesterday. Now let's take His Words just before He died and then rose. He said, "A little while, and the world will see Me no more." All that has ever read that Scripture say, "Amen." "A little while and the world (That's word there is 'kosmos' which means 'the world order, the people of the world.'), the world will see Me no more, yet ye shall see Me (That's the Church.), for I (personal pronoun) will be with you to the end of the world."

E-39 «Encore un peu de temps, et le monde ne Me verra plus (C’est l’être physique.), mais l’Eglise Me verra, car Je serai avec vous, même en vous jusqu’à la fin du monde.» Ecoutez cette promesse-ci: «Vous ferez aussi les oeuvres que Je fais et vous en ferez davantage.» Je sais que King James rend cela par de plus grandes, mais la bonne traduction, c’est: davantage. Nul ne peut rien faire de plus grandes que ce qu’Il a fait. Il a–Il a ressuscité les morts. Il a guéri les malades. Il a arrêté le cours de la nature. Il a tout fait. Nul homme ne peut faire de plus grandes. Mais ils peuvent faire davantage de cela, car Il sera dans l’Eglise universelle. «Vous en ferez davantage, car Je m’en vais au Père.» Il est monté en haut, Il a emmené des captifs, Il a fait des dons aux hommes.
Or, si Jésus est le même hier, aujourd’hui et éternellement, s’Il n’agit pas de même, s’Il ne fait pas la même chose quant à chaque principe, c’est qu’Il n’est donc pas le même. S’il le fait, c’est qu’Il est donc le même. Et s’Il ne le fait pas, c’est que Ses Paroles ne sont donc pas valables. S’Il le fait effectivement, Il est le Dieu infaillible du Ciel. Il mérite notre amour et notre attention, s’Il le fait.
Et pour moi, Ceci est soit la Parole de Dieu, soit Elle n’est pas la Parole de Dieu. Ne soyez jamais coupable d’avoir honte de l’Evangile, honte de mettre votre âme à chaque partie de ce Livre. Dieu est tenu à Sa Parole, certainement. Mais vous ne pouvez pas le faire mollement. Il vous faut manifester exactement ce que vous dites être.
| E-39 "A little while, and the world won't see Me no more (That's the physical being.) yet the Church will see Me: for I'll be with you, even in you to the end of the world." Listen to this promise: "And the things that I do shall you do also; and more than this shall you do." I know the King James gives "greater," but the right translation is "more." No one could do anything greater than He did; He's--He raised the dead; He healed the sick; He stopped nature; He did everything. No man could do greater. But they could do more of it, because He would be in the Church universal. "More than this shall you do; for I go to My Father." He ascended on high, led captive captive, give gifts to men.
Now, if Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever, if He doesn't act the same, do the same in every principle, then He is not the same. If He does it, then He is the same. And if He doesn't do it, then His Word's no good. If He does do it, He's the infallible God of heaven. And He deserves our love and our attention, if He does do it.
And to me, this is either the Word of God or it is not the Word of God. And don't you ever be guilty of being ashamed of the Gospel, to place your soul on any phase of that Book. God's obligated to His Word, certainly He is. But you can't do it wishy-washing around. You've got to come out and be exactly what you say you are.

C’est une oeuvre achevée. Mais il vous faut accepter cela comme votre propre bien personnel. C’est un don d’amour que Dieu vous a donné. Mais Il sera toujours le même quant à Sa puissance pour se manifester, Dieu opérant au travers de Lui. Il opère au travers de Son Eglise juste comme Il avait opéré au travers de Son Fils.
| E-40 Now, if Jesus Christ, God's Son, will come into this audience tonight... Now, it's going to be hard, for it's your first night. And Jesus, no matter if He stood here, wearing this suit that He gave me, He could not heal you tonight. Anybody know that? It's already a past tense. He's already did it. If He stood here with this suit on, you'd come to Him, say, "Lord Jesus, won't You heal me?"
He'd say, "My child, I did that nineteen hundred years ago when I paid the price for your sickness."
"Will You forgive me Lord, of my sins?" "I did it child nineteen hundred years ago, do you wish to accept it tonight?"
It's a finished work. But you've got to accept it as your own personal property. It's a love gift that God has given you. But He would still be the same in His power to manifest Hisself, God working through Him. He works through His Church just like He did through His Son.

I believe it would make me a more of a staunch Christian. And I'll try by the grace of God to live a better life. Now, you see what a challenge it is? Does anyone want to come here and take the place? You're welcome. But it's a thing that... It's God's Word. How the world can't see that. How you just been intellectually blinded to the real Spirit of Life. Christ will keep His Word.

Ils s’en tiennent généralement à leur parole.

The Bible said, "Many mighty works He could not do (Is that right?), because of their unbelief." No matter how great the gift of God is, it'll never manifest till there's somebody to do it, like the woman touching His garment.
We'll pray. And I believe that I've always found... Don't say this because I am standing here; I could just go ahead and bypass it. But I've always found one thing about Canadian people: As a majority, when they promise you something, they'll stick with it. See? They're called royal Canadians, and that's right. They usually stick to their word.
And I believe when you raise your hand to Christ [Blank.spot.on.tape--Ed.]...?... if He would manifest Hisself in the same powers, the same way He did in the days gone by, it would increase your faith as a Christian to believe Him, I trust that sinners will be saved, and whatmore, and God will heal the sick.

But what's the meetings to do? Have people come up here, so I lay hands on them? That's not even necessary. It's for you. Not to touch me or I touch you, it's for you to touch Him. Right where you are, just look to Him and say, "Lord, You're the High Priest of my confession. You're the High Priest that can be touched by the feeling of my infirmities. I'm sick tonight, Lord Jesus, I now confess my faith and believe that You healed me nineteen hundred years ago, and I now believe it and accept it." Watch what He will do. He's the same yesterday, today, and forever. He cannot fail.

| E-45 Now, we're--we give out some prayer cards. What are the prayer cards for? Now, I'll show you. How many in here is sick and wants God to heal them, raise up your hand? Everybody in the building, anywhere you--no matter balconies, wherever you are, raise your hands, that's got sickness and wants...? Now, who's going to be first? There you are. That's what prayer cards are for. See? It's just a little card with a number on it. You just take the number; and as you're called come to the platform by your number.
And then you that does not have a prayer card tonight, and you want God to heal you, raise up your hand? Does not have a prayer card, everywhere in the building, no matter where you are? See, it's just everywhere. You don't have to have a prayer card; the prayer card has nothing to do with it, just to--to give you a lot and a number to stand here by. Sometimes we call from one place and another. No matter where it's at, we just call a few people up here so that the Presence of God can be known in the audience.
And then when the people realize that Christ is here, that He's not dead, but raised from the dead, and He's the same in principle and power; thousands reach up and accept Him. That's when the healing takes place.

Blessed Father, in a little broke up, chopped up, message of this type, but trying to place before this loyal people, that You are the same, that You're not dead, why, You're very much alive; and has been alive since the very dawn of time. You was back in the bosoms of God before there was even a world or a light. You were still Christ.
And when all the world is no more and the seas have wept theirself into deserts, You'll still be Christ, forever more. When there's no more factories, no more men, no more churches, no more organizations, no more nothing here left on this earth, You'll still be Christ. And through the eons of time to come, You'll still be Christ.

Today, knowing that we're living in the closing time, and we're aware that there's something going on. Yonder in Russia perhaps a bomb is already centered for the middle of this city, and also in the America, and around the world. But we also have bombs centered for the middle of their city. Just who pulls the trigger or presses the button first. There could be a total annihilation in five minutes. O God, no wonder the world has become neurotic. But You said when these things begin to come to pass, raise up your head, your redemption is drawing nigh. Oh, give us voice to cry out in the darkness, for the sake of lost souls. Grant it, Lord.
Now, speak tonight Lord, and let the people know that You're still alive. It'll increase the faith of the believers and make believers out of unbelievers. And heal the sick so that they can glorify Thee. I submit and commit this audience and myself into Thy hands that Thou might work through their gift of faith, and the gift that Thou has given to Thy servant for the manifestation of God's Presence, in Jesus' Name, I pray. Lord, help me not to be a critic, but help me to weigh it out with the Bible."

You are the Lord Jesus.
Oh, You are here tonight, and our hearts are burning within us, for You are talking to us and we love You. And Satan is trying to hold the blessings from the people. What more could You do Lord? You wrote the Word; You send the Spirit; You confirm Your Word with signs of the resurrected Christ, the Messiah, the same yesterday, today, and forever. O God, be merciful to these sick.
And Satan, you spirit of evil, who is come upon the people to bind them with infirmities, you are defeated. Jesus Christ our Lord, Who is present now, defeated you at Calvary with His vicarious suffering and death. His burial and resurrecting justified our faith. And we now say that you're a bluff, and you cannot bluff us any longer. We call your hand. In Jesus' Name depart from here all doubting, all superstition, and may the Holy Spirit break upon this audience and heal every person here in Divine Presence.
