Glory to His Name!
Our Father, we thank Thee this morning, there is a Fountain open in the house of David for—for uncleanliness, and purifying of our hearts. And we come humbly this morning to that Fountain, that’s filled with Blood of Thy own beloved Son, Jesus. Plunging our souls beneath Its crimson flow, to come up on the other side washed. Where we went in sinners, we come out saved. Go in sick, come out well. Go in downtrodden, disheartened, weary, tossed about by every little thing and come out on the other side established. How we thank Thee for this great opportunity, this great privilege that we have of coming to Thee. And today we humbly bow our heads and thank Thee for every blessing. Meet with us today Father here.
Now we thank You for meeting with us in the songs, and the former part of the service, and now meet with us around the Word. And may we have fellowship around the Word with Thee Lord, and may the Holy Spirit take every word straight to the heart of the believer and sinner alike. And may there come forth a great harvest of help today: help for the needy; help for the sick and the afflicted; help for the weary and distressed; and help for the wayfaring man, for the lukewarm believer; and encouragement for the one who’s in Christ, resting, filled with the Spirit, waiting the coming of the Lord. Grant it Father, for we ask it in His Name, the Lord Jesus. Amen.
So happy to be in the tabernacle this morning. And a heartily good morning to you all. Trusting that this day has found us still in the service of the Lord. |

| E-2 When we raised our hands a while ago, “How many could sing, ‘I am so wondrously saved from sin’?” I was sure so happy. Looked like a hundred percent, everywhere, every hand, that I noticed, was up in the air. “I am so wondrously saved from sin. Jesus so sweetly abides within.” I’m so happy for that today, for you. |

E-3 (2) Maintenant, je crois que la soeur ici sur la civière est un petit peu au soleil. Elle - elle aimerait peut-être qu'on la déplace un peu. Je ne sais pas si ça la gêne ou non; et j'ai aussi remarqué que sa main était levée: "Si merveilleusement sauvé du péché. Jésus habite avec une telle douceur au-dedans."
| E-3 And now, I believe, that sister here on the stretcher is just a little bit in the sun. If she—if she’d want to be moved over, maybe. I don’t know whether it’s bothering her or not. And I noticed her hand, also, up, “So wondrously saved from sin. Jesus so sweetly abides within.” |

E-4 (3) Oh! n'est-ce pas merveilleux, quand Jésus de Nazareth peut entrer dans nos coeurs, nous bénir et nous rendre comme nous devrions être! Il y a bien des années, nous avions l'habitude de chanter un petit choeur: "Il me rend comme je devrais être. Sa grâce peut me purifier et me libérer." (Quelque chose comme ça.) Comme c'est merveilleux!
| E-4 Oh, isn’t that marvelous, when Jesus of Nazareth can come into our hearts and bless us, and make us what we ought to be! Used to be a little song we used to sing years ago, “He makes me what I ought to be. His grace can cleanse and set me free.” Something like that. How marvelous it is! |

E-6 Et ça m'a fait du bien, en entrant par la porte de derrière, de les voir déposer ici les offrandes d'anniversaire. Cela me rappelle le bon vieux temps où le Tabernacle venait de naître, lorsque j'entends le pasteur bénir les gens pour les années futures de leur vie et rendre grâce à Dieu pour ce qu'Il a fait pour eux dans Sa bonté.
| E-6 And it made me feel good to come in the back door and see them putting the birthday offerings up here. That reminded me, a long time ago, when the tabernacle was first being in its cradle days. And just like old times to hear the pastor blessing the people for the coming years of their life, and to give Him thanks for what God had graciously done for them. |

| E-7 Now, I—I think I owe to this tabernacle the—the reasons why, and to be the first place that I make this announcement, of anywhere yet. It’s typed out, and ready for mail, but I think that I would want to quote it, being the new year, not that it’s New Year’s, but it’s the new turn of time. |

E-8 (6) Je crois que nous sommes en train de vivre en un jour merveilleux et glorieux, où l'occasion est donnée aux gens de voir les ombres de la venue du Fils de Dieu. Je - je crois de tout mon coeur que le monde va éclater maintenant dans le plus grand réveil, ou bien qu'il va sombrer dans le chaos le plus noir qu'on ait jamais connu dans l'histoire.
| E-8 I believe we are living in a very wonderful, glorious day of opportunity, when peoples of this day living to see the shadows of the coming of the Son of God. I—I believe with all my heart that the world is going to burst now into the greatest revival that was ever known, or it’s going into the darkest chaos that’s ever been known in history. And I…It’s a—it’s a great time, of people, to make a decision on what they’re going to do. |

E-9 (7) Et je... Il est - il est grand temps pour les gens de prendre une décision au sujet de ce qu'ils vont faire. S'il se trouve quelqu'un ici aujourd'hui qui ne se soit pas décidé pour Christ, j'espère qu'il le fera ce matin; qu'à un moment donné, pendant le service, vous direz dans votre coeur: "Oui, Seigneur, c'est aujourd'hui le jour où je prends la décision de Te servir le reste de ma vie."
| E-9 And if there happens to be someone here today who hasn’t made the decision right, for Christ, I trust that it’ll be this morning. Somewhere in the service, that you’ll in your heart, say, “Yes, Lord, this is the day when I take my…make my decision to serve You the rest of my life.” |
E-10 (8) C'est un jour merveilleux. Je suis sûr que nous avons eu sur les yeux un voile (même les croyants) qui nous a empêchés de voir ce qui se passe autour de nous. Voyez? Et, bien des fois, les gens conduits par l'Esprit sont incompris et - et ils ne... par les gens du monde, parce que c'est une vie tellement étrange et bizarre que de mener une vie complètement abandonnée au Seigneur Jésus.

| E-10 It’s a wonderful day. I’m sure that over our eyes has been just a veil, even believers, till we can’t see just what’s going on around us, you see. And, many times, spiritual-led people are misunderstood, and—and they don’t…to the peoples of the world, because it’s such a strange and an odd life, to live a full-surrendered life to the Lord Jesus. Now, a few weeks ago… |

E-11 Il y a huit ou dix, une dizaine d'années, j'avais promis au Seigneur, lorsque je suis parti en 1946 (lorsque j'ai quitté le Tabernacle) que je Le servirais de tout mon coeur au cours de ces campagnes, sachant qu'il allait se produire là-bas beaucoup de remous, parce que... et que beaucoup d'argent serait engagé et ainsi de suite.
| E-11 I had promised the Lord, eight or ten, about ten years ago, when I left in 1946, when I left the tabernacle, that I would serve Him with all my heart in these campaigns, knowing that it was going to be a great disturbance out there, because…and a lot of money included, and everything like that. |

E-12 Ainsi, je - je savais, pour l'avoir lu, que généralement l'homme qui prend... le Seigneur le bénit juste un peu... Il y a environ trois choses principales qui généralement ramènent un serviteur dans l'ornière. Ce sont: l'argent, les femmes, la popularité. Et ces trois choses...
| E-12 So I—I knew that, usually, in reading, that men who get…the Lord bless them just a little bit, there’s about three major things that usually brings a minister to…back to the rut. And noticing them, one of them was money; women; popularity; and those three things. |

E-13 J'ai remarqué dans les Ecritures que l'argent était représenté par le prophète Balaam, qui vendit ses dons pour aller... à cause de l'argent - quand Balak lui offrit une certaine somme d'argent. (Beaucoup d'entre vous connaissent l'histoire.)
| E-13 I notice in the Scripture, that where it (money) was the prophet Balaam who sold out his gift, to go, and on account of money, when Balak offered so much money. Many of you are acquainted with the story. |

E-14 (10) Pour Samson, ce fut Delila, la femme qui le courtisa sur ses genoux jusqu'à ce qu'il lui livrât les secrets du Seigneur.
| E-14 To Samson, it was Delilah, the woman who wooed him in her lap until he give away the secrets of the Lord, to her. |

E-15 Et Saul, ce fut la popularité. C'était un prophète. La Bible dit qu'il était parmi les prophètes. Et par la popularité, il voulait être grand et au-dessus des autres. Il tomba.
| E-15 And Saul, it was popularity. He was a prophet. The Bible said, he was numbered with the prophet. And through popularity, he wanted to be big and above someone else. He fell by this. |

E-16 (11) Et ce sont les trois causes principales, que je vois dans la Bible, qui ont provoqué la chute des hommes; et j'ai demandé à notre Père céleste de bien vouloir m'éloigner en tous temps de ces choses-là, spécialement de ces trois choses principales. Et je me suis montré très prudent à leur égard.
| E-16 And this is the three major causes that I seen in the Bible, that cause men to fall. And I asked our Heavenly Father to please let me shun, at all times, those things, especially those three major things. And I kept a covering over them. |
E-17 (12) J'ai fait à Dieu la promesse de ne jamais mendier d'argent lors des réunions. Et j'ai fait avec Lui l'alliance que, si jamais le moment arrivait où Il ne subvienne pas à mes besoins au cours des réunions, par le simple fait de passer le plateau à offrandes (alors que je savais qu'il faudrait des dizaines de milliers de dollars pour y arriver dans les grandes réunions). Je lui dis donc que, je - je cesserais alors de tenir des réunions à l'extérieur et que je rentrerais chez moi.
(13) Ceci, Il l'a fait miraculeusement sans qu'il ne fut jamais nécessaire de mettre l'accent sur l'argent, ni de faire pression.
| E-17 I made a promise to God that I would never beg for money in the meetings. And I made a covenant with Him, if He ever got to a place where He didn’t supply my needs in the meeting, just by passing the collection plate, which I knew it would take tens of thousands of dollars to do it, in great massive meeting. And then I—I told Him that I would leave, and come home off of the field. This He miraculously did, without making one stress at any time for money, or press. |

E-18 Trois ou quatre organisateurs perdirent leur emploi pour avoir fait un petit peu pression à propos d'argent, ce que je ne permettais pas. Je ne crois pas à cela.
| E-18 Three of four managers lost their jobs because of making a little press for money, which I would not permit it. I don’t believe in it. |

J'aurais pu l'être, c'est vrai, mais je... même sans mendier, les gens viennent simplement et disent: "Je vous donne ceci, Frère Branham"; mais je l'ai refusé. Je n'en veux pas. Je ne veux rien avoir affaire avec cela. C'est - c'est corrompu. Je - je veux que mon héritage soit là-haut.
| E-19 The people around the city here might think…Well, the Lord gave us a little home up there. That was taken up in one night, that I…Someone thinks, “Well, he’s a multimillionaire.” I wish you only knew the truth, see. You know different from that. That I could have been, that’s right, but I…Not even begging, but just people come, say, “I’ll give you this, Brother Branham.” But I refused it. I don’t want it. I want nothing to do with it. It—it’s filth. I—I want my inheritance to be Above, up here. |
E-20 (15) Et ce... Voyant que, de jour en jour, les cheveux blancs se multiplient sur ma tête, et - et que je ne suis plus le jeune homme que j'étais lorsque j'ai commencé à prêcher ici il y a vingt-trois ans, (voyez-vous) je sais une chose: c'est que peu importe combien vous avez de ces choses... A quoi servirait-il à un homme de gagner le monde entier, s'il devait ensuite perdre son âme?
(16) Ainsi, j'ai vu cette malédiction;
| E-20 And, that, knowing this, that day by day the gray hairs is coming into my head and—and I’m not the little boy that I was that started preaching here twenty-three years ago. See? And I know one thing, that no matter how much you got of this… “What would it profit a man if he gained the whole world, and then lose his soul?”

E-22 Une dame m'a téléphoné un soir dernièrement. Elle a dit: "Je ne vous dirai pas mon nom. Mon mari est l'un des évangélistes bien connus au ministère de guérison." Et elle a dit: "Je l'ai surpris en train de commettre adultère avec une jeune fille âgée de dix-huit ans. Il - il m'a confessé qu'il le faisait depuis deux ans." Et elle ajouta: "Que dois-je faire, frère Branham?"
| E-22 A lady called me the other night. She said, “I won’t tell you my name. My husband is one, a well-known, healing evangelist, on the field.” And said, “I’ve caught him right in the act of living in adultery with an eighteen-year-old girl. He—he confessed to me that he had been doing it for two years.” Said, “What shall I do, Brother Branham?” |

E-27 Je n'ai pas voulu en parler à ma femme et à mon garçon sur le chemin du retour... Je me suis rendu en Californie et j'ai dû m'arrêter à des réunions d'évangélisation. J'ai dit: "Je rentrerai, je me reposerai quelques jours et je verrai ce que le Seigneur Jésus dit; et s'il n'y a rien d'autre, j'irai aider frère Neville dans sa tâche de pasteur au Tabernacle." J'ai dit: "Je - je ferai quelque chose pour prêcher l'Evangile et j'irai travailler comme j'en avais l'habitude; je patrouillerai sur les lignes de la Compagnie de Services Publics ou quelque chose de ce genre, et je prêcherai. | E-27 And I didn’t want to tell my wife and boy on the road home, come to California, that I was stopping the evangelistic services. I said, “I’ll go back, rest up a few days, and see what the Lord Jesus says. If nothing else, I’ll come down and help Brother Neville pastor the tabernacle.” I said, “I’ll—I’ll do something, preach the Gospel. Then go to work like I used to do, patrol on the lines, the Public Service Company, or something. And, preach, I want to let him have Sunday morning or Sunday night, and I’ll take the other service. And him have Wednesday and I’ll have Tuesday, or something like that. Or…” I said, “We’ll go right ahead with the services.” And I said, “I’ll get me a job and go to work.” |

E-30 Si un homme n'est pas de parole, je ne veux pas... vous ne pouvez pas lui faire confiance, parce qu'il ne vaut rien. Voyez? Ainsi, il y a une chose qu'une personne doit toujours être, c'est d'être honnête. Dites les choses de telle manière que - que vous puissiez les répéter un million de fois et que ce soit toujours la même chose. Vous voyez? Soyez honnête. Peu importe que ce soit mauvais ou que ce soit bon, soyez honnête. Et si c'est contre vous, dites-le quand même; ou taisez-vous et ne le dites pas du tout. Voyez?"
| E-30 If a man is not as good as his word, I don’t want…You can’t trust him, because he’s not no good. See? And so, there’s one thing, and a person must always be, that’s honest. Be, tell things so that—that you can go back and tell it a million times, and it’ll be the same thing. See? Just be honest. No matter if it’s bad, or whether it’s good, be honest. And if it’s against you, say it anyhow; or keep still, don’t say it at all. See? |

E-31 (22) Et alors... je - je - je sens qu'ainsi Dieu bénira un coeur honnête; et connaissant la position dans laquelle je me trouve pour vaincre la maladie ainsi que les autres difficultés des gens et prier le Seigneur Jésus, conformément à Sa Parole divine et à Son - et à Son appel, je dois donc être honnête de coeur pour faire cela, parce que le diable sait si vous l'êtes ou non. Voyez, il ne prêtera pas attention. Peu importe combien vous criez fort ou l'apparence que vous affichez, il ne prêtera pas attention à vous. Voyez? C'est vrai. Mais Dieu, Lui, le fera, si vous êtes honnête.
| E-31 And so then, I—I feel that way, that God will bless an honest heart. And knowing the position that I stand in, to defeat sickness and stuff for people in prayer, to the Lord Jesus, according to His Divine Word, and His—and His calling, then I must be honest in heart to do that. Cause, the devil knows whether you are or not. He, he won’t pay no atten-….I don’t care how loud you holler, or how much you make up, he won’t pay no attention to you. See? That’s right. But God will, if you’re honest. |

| E-32 So I said, “I’ll tell them when I get to Arizona,” after I left California. I didn’t have the nerve. So after…I said, “Well, in New Mexico.” And on and on, till, I told them coming right down here in Indiana. Well, they—they understood it, pretty well. |

E-33 Billy ne l'a pas très bien pris. Il a dit: "Papa, je crois que tu fais erreur."
| E-33 Billy didn’t get it too well. He said, “Daddy, I think you’re making a mistake.” |

E-34 (24) Mais je suis allé à la maison, fatigué, las, indisposé, en larmes; je suis allé me coucher ce soir-là, et lorsque ma femme se fut endormie, je suis allé dans une autre pièce, je me suis agenouillé et j'ai dit: "Bien-Aimé Jésus, je ne sais pas ce que je vais faire. Me voici à nouveau à mon point de départ. Je pense que j'ai échoué."
| E-34 But I went home, tired, weary, upset, crying, went to bed that night. And after the wife got to sleep, I went into the room, knelt down, said, “Dear Jesus, I don’t know what I’m going to do. Here I am right back where I started from again. See? I guess I made a failure.” |

| E-35 About two hours from then, He appeared to me. And He showed me a vision of such a panoramic view of people, I never seen. I was talking to my wife in the vision. Now, you people that know me, know I’m not a fanatic. I don’t say these things unless they’re the truth. That’s right. And I—I seen it. |

| E-37 I walked over to see some more brethren. And there was another brother preaching. I said, “Who is he?”

E-38 (27) Je dis: "Qui sont-ils?" Ils firent alors demi-tour et s'en allèrent. L'homme fit... renvoya l'assistance et les laissa tous partir; et je dis: "Oh! il ne devrait pas faire cela, parce qu'il n'y a pas eu d'appel à l'autel."
| E-38 And I said, “Who is ‘they’?” And they just turned around and walked away. And the man may…dismissed the audience and let them all go. And I said, “Oh, he shouldn’t do that, because there is—there is no altar call.” |

E-39 "Oh!" dirent-ils... Un autre individu prit la parole et dit: "Nous avons déjà récolté l'offrande."
| E-39 “Oh,” he said, that other fellow spoke up and said, “we done took up the offering.” |

E-40 Je dis: "Depuis quand, pour Christ, l'offrande est-elle plus importante que les âmes?" Vous voyez?
| E-40 I said, “When is the offering more important than souls, before Christ?” See? |

E-41 (28) Et à ce moment-là, l'Ange du Seigneur m'emmena et me conduisit auprès d'un cours d'eau, vraiment limpide. C'était une eau du plus beau bleu et de grands poissons nageaient alentour. Il dit: "Je veux faire de toi un pêcheur." Et Il dit: "Maintenant, jette ta ligne avec l'appât dans l'eau, puis tire lentement la première fois, puis la fois suivante, donne juste une petite secousse (pas trop forte), et la fois d'après, mets ton hameçon en place pour la prise."
| E-41 And at that, the Angel of the Lord taken me out then, and He taken me to a real bright stream of water. It was the most beautiful blue water, and great fish were swimming around in it. He said, “I will make you a fisher.” And He said, “Now cast your lure into the water. When you do, pull it slow, first time. Next time, just give a little jerk, not too hard. That’s wonderful.” I got all excited, and jerked it hard on the next one, was out. I pulled the fish, and all, out of the water. But, when it was, it was a little bitty fish, and it just about the size of the lure. And I got my line all tangled up, and I was straightening out my line. |

And the Second Pull, why, when you did, you would know the secrets of your hearts, and I made you a seer before the people. But you was always trying to explain it. You oughtn’t to have done that.” Said, “You’ve made a public show out of it.”

E-48 (31) Alors Il m'emmena et je vis une immense tente. Je n'avais jamais vu de tente pareille! Elle était remplie et entourée de gens. Et je sortis vers... C'était comme si je me tenais au-dessus des gens, regardant en bas, où je venais de faire un appel à l'autel; et des centaines et des centaines de personnes pleuraient et se réjouissaient après avoir accepté le Seigneur Jésus comme leur Sauveur.
| E-48 Then He taken me from there, and I seen a great huge tent. I never seen such a—a tent! And it was packed and lined everywhere, with people. And I walked out to the…looked like I was standing above the people, looking down; where I just made an altar call, and hundreds and hundreds of people were weeping and rejoicing after they had accepted the Lord Jesus as their Saviour. And I looked. |

Et je vis cette Lumière que l'on a tous en photo, vous savez, qui est toujours dans les réunions; je vis donc cette Lumière me quitter, aller vers cette construction et y entrer. Et une Voix me dit: "Je te rencontrerai là-dedans; ce sera le troisième Pull."
Je dis: "Pourquoi?"
| E-50 I noticed to my left, which would have been to my right if I was on the platform, a little wooden building. And I seen that Light that they have the picture of, you know. It’s always in the meeting. I seen that Light leave me and go to that building, and go in that building. And a Voice said to me, I’ll meet you in there. That’ll be the Third Pull.”

Nous ne pouvons pas produire de machine d'une telle précision. Mais, ô grand Jéhovah! Toi, Tu maintiens parfaitement cette terre dans l'espace. Et nous T'aimons, et toutes Tes actions sont justes et parfaites.
| E-58 Our Heavenly Father, we’re just so grateful today for the…for You, Who down here in this modern age, in the age of automobile, airplane, jet rockets, and—and all kind of science, telephone, television, and modern atomic weapons, and so forth; You are still the Supreme, Almighty, omnipotent, omniscient and God that created the heavens and earth, and spanned out the sky. God, we can’t explain it. We can’t explain it. Neither can we explain why the sky doesn’t have an end, how the world can revolve around. And so perfect, till, twenty years before, they can tell when the eclipse of the sun is coming, because Your machinery works exact. We can’t produce a piece of machinery to be that exact. Oh! But, great Jehovah, Who holds this earth here in space, it’s perfect. And we love You. And all Your doings are just and right. |

E-62 (41) Comme notre Seigneur Jésus a été bon pour nous! Je parlais justement avec frère Neville... J'ai oublié, je crois que frère Cox était avec nous lorsqu'une fois nous sommes allés prier pour une petite maman ici, à Charleston, qui était mourante sur son lit, sans plus d'espoir, étant consumée par le cancer; et Dieu, merveilleusement et miraculeusement, guérit cette petite femme. Son frère est pasteur (le petit Junior Cash) et aujourd'hui il est en train de prêcher l'Evangile et de prier aussi pour les malades. Il vient d'y avoir un grand réveil à Henryville et frère Neville me disait justement que le petit frère Junior progressait. Je suis si content de cela.
| E-62 How our Lord Jesus has been so graciously to us. Just talking with Brother Neville, I forgot…Brother Cox, I believe, was with us when we went to pray for a little mother up here at Charlestown one time, dying in the bed, last hopes, cancer eat her up, and God marvelously and miraculously healed that little woman. And her brother is a minister, little Junior Cash, and he is out preaching the Gospel, today, and praying for the sick, also. Just had a great revival, up to Henryville, and Brother Neville was just telling me about how little Brother Junior was getting along. So glad for that! |

| E-66 Follow the Compass, and the Compass is the Holy Spirit. The magnetic pole of the north holds that compass exactly north. Isn’t it wonderful? That’s the electronics of the air. |

E-67 Il y a quelques années, j'étais près du Pôle Nord, on en entend parler, et là on voit ces aurores boréales embraser le ciel, et la nuit noire est illuminée par des lueurs jaunes et vertes, si bien que c'est aussi clair que dans cette salle pour pouvoir se déplacer. J'ai pensé que bien plus au sud, en Amérique Centrale, n'importe où, cette boussole se tournera directement vers ce pôle magnétique. Elle vous conduira vers le nord, chaque fois.
| E-67 I was standing near the North Pole, here a few years ago. And, here, see them northern lights a sweeping, and the yellow and green flashes in the dark midnight, would make it as light as it is in this room, to walk by. I thought, “Way down yonder in Central America, anywhere, that compass will point right straight to that magnetic pole. It’ll guide you north, every time.” |

By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, through his flesh;
And having an high priest over the house of God;
Let us draw near with a true heart and with full assurance of faith, having our…conscience sprinkled from evil, and our bodies washed with pure water. |

E-71 (46) Bon, notre foi ne peut pas reposer sur rien. Un chrétien doit avoir, sa foi doit avoir un lieu de repos solide. Vous savez cela, et le lieu de repos où un chrétien (un véritable chrétien, né de nouveau) puisse faire reposer sa foi, c'est sur la Parole immuable de Dieu. Elle n'est pas construite sur les sables mouvants de la théologie et - et des doctrines humaines, ou sur l'affiliation à une quelconque église; mais un vrai croyant, sa foi est ancrée solidement, alors qu'il s'approche de la Parole de Dieu.
| E-71 Now, our faith cannot rest upon nothing. A Christian has to have…His faith has to have a solid resting place. You know that. And the only resting place that a Christian, a true, born-again Christian can rest his faith, or hers, is upon the unmovable Word of God. It isn’t built upon the shifting sands of men’s theology and—and doctrines, and upon some church affiliation. But, a true believer, his faith rests solidly, unshifting, as he approaches the Word of God. |
E-72 (47) J'ai raconté quelque part, peut-être ici, qu'un de ces derniers soirs j'avais tellement envie de prêcher, que j'avais prêché à ma femme, au lit, jusqu'à minuit, lui disant simplement combien Jésus était glorieux. Un texte était venu dans mon coeur. Il me brûlait tellement que je ne pouvais pas me reposer ainsi. Et je dis: "Chérie, je désire te prêcher un petit moment." Elle se redressa et me fit la grâce d'écouter.

| E-72 I was saying, somewhere, maybe here, a few nights ago: I wanted to preach so bad, I preached to my wife in bed till twelve o’clock, just telling her of how glorious Jesus was. A text come in my heart, it kept burning me so great, till I just couldn’t rest with it. And I just said, “Honey, I want to preach to you a little while.” And she roused up, by grace she listened. I said, “The Christian faith is based solidly upon rest.” That’s right. |

E-73 Un chrétien n'est pas ballotté. Un chrétien ne court pas d'un lieu à l'autre. Un chrétien ne s'agite pas, ne s'emporte pas, ne s'inquiète pas. Un chrétien se repose. Tout est terminé. Pour le croyant, tout s'est terminé au Calvaire. C'est vrai. Oh! la maladie et les déceptions peuvent venir, mais le chrétien est au repos, sachant ceci, que Dieu peut garder ce qu'Il a accompli, et sachant que peu importe ce que c'est ou comment c'est, ni la maladie, ni la tristesse, ni la mort, ni la famine ni quoi que ce soit ne peut nous séparer de l'amour de Dieu qui est en Jésus-Christ. Nous sommes au repos. Le vieux bateau peut tanguer comme il veut; l'ancre tient bon.
| E-73 A Christian is not tossed about. A Christian doesn’t run from place to place. A Christian doesn’t fuss and fume, and worry about things. A Christian rests. It’s all over. It’s all finished, for the believer, at Calvary. That’s right. Oh, sickness may comes, and disappointments, but the Christian is at rest, knowing this, that God is able to keep that which He has performed. Knowing, that, no matter what the thing is and how it looks, there is neither sickness, sorrow, death, there is neither starvation or anything, that can separate us from the love of God that’s in Jesus Christ. We’re at rest. Just let the old ship toss any way she wants to; the anchor holds. |
E-74 (49) Une fois, je passais près d'un port et je vis cela. Nous étions en avion. Le grand... Nous volions bas, et il y avait là un grand et vieux bateau. Les voiles avaient été baissées, vous savez. Et oh! quelle tempête sur la mer! Oh! la la! il était ballotté! Et je vis que ce vieux bateau se balançait d'avant en arrière, tandis que des vagues pénétraient et que d'autres passaient en dessous et tout. Et je dis: "Je me demande pourquoi." Et quelqu'un dit: "Il a une ancre flottante. C'est pourquoi, dit-il, le bateau ne peut pas sombrer." Il dit: "Il peut traverser les vagues, mais il ne peut pas sombrer, parce qu'il est ancré."
(50) Je dis: "Oh! Dieu soit loué!
| E-74 I come by a harbor one time and seen that. We was flying in a plane, it was great…coming down low. There was a big old ship there. The sails had been let down, you know. And, oh, what a storm on the sea! My, she was tossing. And I seen that old ship setting there, rocking back and forth. And some waves it would go in, and some waves it would go under, and everything. I said, “Wonder why that is?” And the fellow sitting, said, “It’s got a sea anchor on it. Therefore,” said, “the ship can’t sink.” Said, “It can go through the wave, but it can’t sink,” said, “ ’cause it’s anchored.”
I said, “O praise be to God!” |
E-75 Nous avons une ancre." Certaines vagues, nous pouvons passer par-dessus et d'autres, nous pouvons passer par-dessous; mais sans nous inquiéter pour savoir si l'ancre tient - ce n'est pas le bateau qui fait tenir, c'est l'ancre qui fait tenir. Ce n'est pas ce que je suis, ou ce que je serai, ou ce que j'étais. C'est ce qu'Il est maintenant et ce qu'Il a fait pour moi et pour vous.
(51) Ce n'est pas ce que je peux faire, c'est ce qu'Il a fait. Ma foi n'est pas ancrée dans ce que seront les réunions à venir.
| E-75 We got an anchor. Some waves we can go over, some we go under, but, regardless, if the anchor holds. It isn’t the ship doing the holding. It’s the anchor doing the holding. It isn’t what I am, or what I will be, or what I was. It’s what He is now, and what He did for me and you. It ain’t what I can do. It’s what He has done. |

People who are sinners, who does not accept the Lord Jesus, can still enjoy the…seeing the moving of the miracle of God healing the sick, can rejoice in people doing right, can open their hearts and rejoice in a sermon that’s preached under the anointing. And that’s the same type of Manna that the Christian is eating. You see it? |

Outside the church, they’d pull a little business deal that wouldn’t be just exactly straight, for personal gain. I don’t say them people are here in the tabernacle, but I say there is. There is things that people would do, and they get different. The least little thing will bring that old temper back again, that selfishness, open up an ear to hear gossip, or do something of that type. That person has never entered into this pot in here. | E-117 They’re truly eating the same kind of manna. They’ve been brought into the camp, and there is where, in the camp of the field, is where the people got the manna. And they’re in there. And that manna that they eat is the same manna this man eats here. They both have the same pastor. They both read the same Bible. But one constantly stays true and humble, and the other one has got his ups and downs, a going like this, in and out. Both of them eating the same manna, but one has entered in, and the other one is still out. Both of them are believers unto Eternal Life. But one is baptized with the Holy Spirit, in the Kingdom of God; and the other one is outside, eating the same manna. |

God is not known by mental conceptions, God is known by an old-fashion, sanctified, born-again experience that’s in the human heart. This old dead rod, laying there in the Presence of God, budded, blossomed, and yielded almonds, in one night. What was it, then? What kind of rod was it? It was an almond tree, rod. That’s where he had taken it from. The stick was off of an almond tree. |

Where, her husband told me, who is sitting present now, when he had played golf with the doctor, and he said, “The cancer wrapped around her intestines till it was like a tree roots.” All hopes was gone. |

That’s to the man who quits his drinking, quits his smoking, quits lying, quits stealing, treats his neighbor right, good to his wife, or her good to her husband, the same way, man or woman, the believer. He has come into a place where he has quit all of his meanness, which is through the Blood, the sanctification. He is called to a new life, and he walks in there. He don’t have to walk by that light out there; he’s got a better light. He’s walking by the light of seven golden candlesticks, which is burning olive oil. |

You’re not behind the veil. Here he is. He is walking in these seven golden candlesticks. There is many light, or, much light in there. But there’s days when them lights get dull. There is days when them lamps smoke, and the light is not so good. There is times when them lights have to be relit again, and you have to borrow a little from the neighbor to light one candle to the other one. It’s still not a good light. It laid there twenty-four hours, and I was sitting in my room. He said, “Like a lady, she has laid twenty-four hours, for you to pray for her, waiting for her turn, and you haven’t done it yet.” And little Rebekah there was in the back. |

So we come in Jesus Christ’s Name, swing the doors open Father and take us into the Shekinah Glory, where all the howls of the world will be on the outside, and our sister will be made well.
