Très Bienveillant Père, nous Te sommes vraiment reconnaissants ce soir pour la Présence du Seigneur Jésus ici sur terre parmi nous, en ce grand jour tragique, où des bombes et des missiles atomiques pourraient, d’un seul coup, causer un anéantissement total. Mais nous sommes très heureux d’avoir un refuge: le Nom de l’Eternel est une tour forte; le juste s’y réfugie, et se trouve en sûreté. Nous Te remercions, Père, pour ceci et pour la grâce du Seigneur Jésus qui nous a accordé cette merveilleuse communion fraternelle. Et nous prions qu’Il soit ici ce soir et qu’Il bénisse nos efforts, alors que nous essayons de parler à ceux qui ne sont pas sauvés et à ceux qui sont dans le besoin. Most gracious Father, we are indeed grateful to Thee, tonight, for the presence of the Lord Jesus here on earth and among us, this great day of tragedy, where atomic bombs and missiles could at one sweep cause a total annihilation. But we are so thankful that we have a refuge: the Name of the Lord is a mighty tower; the righteous run into it and are safe. We thank Thee, Father, for this, and for the grace of the Lord Jesus, Who has given us this marvelous fellowship. And we pray tonight, that He will be present, and will bless our efforts, as we try to speak to the unsaved and to those who are needy. And may, when this service is over, may we be able to say, like those who came from Emmaus, "Did not our hearts burn within us, as He talked to us along the way." For we ask it in Jesus' Name, Amen.

| E-2 I always deem it such a great privilege to be assembled together with the people of God. And today with some of the pastors, we have had a wonderful fellowship. And tonight, I am sorry to be just a little hoarse, because of so much preaching in the weeks gone by. And I am happy, tonight, to have on the platform, some of my friends from California and different parts, Brother Sproule and brother... I'm certainly glad to get to see you up here tonight.

E-3 Et maintenant, ce soir, j’ai choisi, avec l’aide du Seigneur, un texte sur lequel j’aimerais prêcher, et c’est dans Saint Matthieu, chapitre 24, verset 35. Et juste pour avoir tout mon temps, du fait qu’il vous est difficile de me comprendre, je lis l’Ecriture:
Le ciel et la terre passeront, mais mes paroles ne passeront point.
Ces Paroles ont été solennellement prononcées par le Seigneur Jésus-Christ, notre Sauveur. Ce soir je continue avec mon sujet Dieu tient Sa Parole. Et je suis convaincu que la Bible est la Parole de Dieu, et que dans la Parole, le salut est basé sur l’enseignement de cette Bible, et ce salut ne peut être basé sur autre chose que la Parole du Seigneur. Bien des choses sont de bons médicaments, mais ceci c’est le Remède. Dieu l’a prévu ainsi, parce que Sa Parole c’est Lui-même. «Au commencement était la Parole, la Parole était avec Dieu, et la Parole était Dieu; et la Parole a été faite chair, et Elle a habité parmi nous.» Dieu incarné en Christ. Tout le reste faillira.
| E-3 And now, tonight, I have chosen, by the help of the Lord, a text that I would like to speak on, and that's found in Saint Matthew, the 24th chapter and the 35th verse. And just to take my time, because of being hard for you to understand me, I read the Scripture.
Heavens and earth shall pass away, but My Word shall not pass away.
Those words were solemnly spoken by the Lord Jesus Christ, our Saviour. My subject, continuing tonight, "God Keeps His Word." And it is my belief that the Bible is God's Word, and that in the Word, salvation is based upon the teaching of this Bible, that salvation cannot be based upon any other thing but the Word of the Lord. Many things are good remedies, but this is the cure. God has so planned it, that His Word is Himself. "In the beginning was the Word; the Word was with God; and the Word was God, and the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us."--God, incarnate, in Christ. All other things will fail.

E-4 Eh bien, nous ne pouvons pas baser le salut sur la prière. Aussi bonne qu’elle puisse être, nous ne pouvons pas baser le salut sur la prière. Car s’il en est ainsi, les musulmans sont sauvés, les bouddhistes sont sauvés, les païens sont sauvés. Cela ne peut donc pas être basé sur la prière, et cela ne peut pas non plus être basé sur une expérience. Le salut n’est pas basé sur une expérience, car les gens peuvent faire toutes sortes d’expériences. Les musulmans font des expériences. Les bouddhistes font une expérience, toute autre religion fait des expériences. Et le salut ne peut pas non plus être basé sur le jeûne, la prière, les expériences, les sensations, ou la sincérité.
Beaucoup de gens disent: «Eh bien, ce que je crois ne change rien, aussi longtemps que je suis sincère dans ce que je crois.» Eh bien, si tel est le cas, le musulman est sauvé, le bouddhiste est sauvé, ainsi que tous les autres; les païens sont sauvés. Car, je vous assure qu’ils peuvent nous surpasser largement pour ce qui est de la prière, du jeûne, des sensations et ainsi de suite; ils peuvent nous surpasser. Et le salut ne se rapporte pas... ou plutôt il n’est basé sur rien d’autre que la Parole de Dieu; Dieu doit le déclarer.
| E-4 Now, we cannot base salvation upon prayer. As good as it may be, we cannot base salvation on prayer. For if that be so, the Mohammedans are saved; the Buddhists are saved; the heathens are saved. So it cannot be based on prayer, and neither can it be based upon experience. Salvation is not based on experience, 'cause people can have any kind of an experience. The Mohammedans have experiences. The Buddhists has an experience, and every different religion has experiences. And neither can salvation be based upon fasting, prayer, experiences, sensations, or sincerity.
Many people say, "Well, it doesn't make any difference just what I believe, as long as I am sincere in what I believe." Well, if that be so, the Mohammedan is saved; the Buddhist is saved, and all the rest of them; the heathens is saved. For I say that they can outshine us any day, when it comes to prayer, fasting, sensations, or so forth; they can outshine us. And salvation does not pertain, or it is not based upon, any other thing but the Word of God; God's got to say so.

E-5 Le salut ne peut pas être basé sur une quelconque église, sur un quelconque credo, sur rien d’autre que la Parole de Dieu, car c’est la Parole de Dieu. La Parole de Dieu est si parfaite que pas un seul iota de Cela ne peut faillir. Tous les cieux failliront, la terre faillira. Jean a dit dans le–sur l’île de Patmos: «Je vis un nouveau ciel et une nouvelle terre, car le premier ciel et la première terre avaient disparu.» Mais toutefois, la Parole de Dieu a continué.
En ce qui concerne la procédure, eh bien, je veux que vous remarquiez, combien la Parole de Dieu est infaillible. Lorsque les deux brigands et Jésus mouraient sur les croix ensemble, on a pris des marteaux et on a brisé les jambes des brigands. Et peut-être que l’homme qui avait le marteau avait probablement déjà levé le marteau pour briser les jambes du Seigneur Jésus, afin qu’ils ne puissent pas rester jusqu’au Sabbat. Mais avant que le marteau ne frappe les jambes du Seigneur Jésus, Sa Parole devait s’accomplir. Aucun os de Son corps n’a été brisé. Et avant que le marteau ne frappe Ses jambes, une lance romaine Lui a percé le côté, et du Sang et de l’eau sont sortis; et «ils M’ont percé Mes mains et Mon côté».
Toute la Parole de Dieu doit s’accomplir, chaque Parole. C’est donc la raison pour laquelle j’aime amener les gens, sachant que je devrai rendre compte avant, au jour du Jugement, à être basés non pas sur certaines de mes propres pensées ni sur ma propre doctrine. Je veux que l’expérience de leur âme et tout soit basée sur la Parole de Dieu, afin que cela tienne bon. En effet, je sais qu’en ce grand jour-là nous devrons rendre compte pour tout.
| E-5 Salvation cannot be based upon any church, or any creed, nothing but the Word of God, for it's God's Word. God's Word is so perfect, that not one iota of It will ever fail. All the heavens will fail; the earth will fail. John said in the--on the island of Patmos, "I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away." But God's Word went right on, just the same.
I want you to notice, in technique now, how infallible the Word of God is. When the two thieves and Jesus was dying on the crosses, together, they took hammers and broke the thieves' legs. And perhaps, maybe, the man who had the hammer, had already drawed back the hammer to break the legs of the Lord Jesus, so that they couldn't get away over the Sabbath. But before the hammer could ever strike the legs of the Lord Jesus, His Word must be fulfilled. There wasn't a bone in His body broke. And before the hammer could strike His legs, a Roman spear hit His side, and blood and water came forth: but "They pierced my hands and my side."
All the Word of God has to be fulfilled, every Word. So that's the reason I like to get people, that I know I'm going to have to answer before, in the day of Judgment, based, not upon some of my own thoughts, or based upon my own doctrine. I want their soul experience and all, based on God's Word, so that it will stand. Because I know that in that great day we're going to have to answer for every thing.

E-6 Et souvent lors des réunions, pendant que je prêche, et particulièrement aujourd’hui, on voit que chacun a une petite expérience à laquelle il lui faut se référer ou plutôt sur base de laquelle il prétend être sauvé. Mais on n’est sauvé ni par les expériences, ni par le jeûne, ni par la prière. On est sauvé que par un seul moyen; c’est par la foi dans la Parole. «La foi vient de ce qu’on entend, de ce qu’on entend de la Parole de Christ.» C’est le seul moyen par lequel on puisse être sauvé.
Et ainsi, à ce propos, au jour où nous vivons maintenant, dans ce grand âge des émotions où nous vivons, je pense, à certains égards, qu’il y a certainement des gens dans le monde qui croient que j’ai dit la vérité. Après que le Seigneur a donné tant de confirmations, ce dont je ne suis pas digne, mais par Sa grâce, Il a confirmé que j’ai dit la vérité, car je m’en suis tenu à la Parole, sans avoir des préjugés envers qui que ce soit, mais plutôt l’amour envers tous.
| E-6 And many times in the meetings, as I go along preaching, and especially in this day, we find out that each one has a little experience that we have to refer to or claim on this experience that we are saved. But we are not saved by experiences, nor by fasting, nor by prayer. There is one way we are saved; that's faith through the Word. "Faith cometh by hearing; hearing of the Word of God." It's the only way we could be saved.
And then in this, in the day that we are now living, in the great emotional age that we're living in, I feel that, in some respects, that surely there's people in the world who would believe that I told the truth. After the Lord has so vindicated, that I am not worthy of, but in His grace, He has given the a-vindication that I have told the truth, because I've stayed with the Word, with prejudice towards none, love towards you all.

E-7 Eh bien, la Bible dit que la sentinelle qui se tient sur la tour, si elle voit l’ennemi venir et n’avertit pas le peuple, Dieu redemandera leur sang à la sentinelle. Si par contre elle les avertit, mais que les gens ne prennent pas garde, alors leur sang est sur leurs propres mains.
Et je désire dire qu’à la fin de ma route, lorsque l’un de ces jours vous achèterez un journal et lirez que je suis mort, ou quel que soit le canal par lequel vous l’apprendrez, je voudrais dire en quittant cette vie: «Je vous ai annoncé tout le conseil de Dieu, sans en rien cacher.» Ainsi, en m’en tenant à la Parole, je suis donc certain d’être dans le bon. Mais si je m’éloigne de la Parole, alors je suis dans l’erreur.
Ainsi maintenant, juste pour ce qui est d’un petit contexte ou plutôt un passage pour tirer un contexte, retournons dans l’Ancien Testament, dans le Livre de 1 Rois, chapitre 22. Et peut-être que vous n’aurez pas le temps de le lire maintenant même, mais peut-être lorsque vous serez rentré chez vous.
| E-7 Now, the Bible said the watchman that stands on the tower, if he sees the enemy coming and fails to warn them people, God will require their blood at his hands. But, and if he does warn them, and they fail to take heed, then their blood's on their own hand.
And I would want to say at the end of my road, when someday you pick up a paper and read that I have passed on, or what way you would hear, I would want to say in leaving this life, "I have not shunned but to declare unto you the whole council of God." So that staying with the Word, then I know I'm right. But if I get off the Word, then I'm wrong.
So now, just in a little context, or a place to pick a context, let us go back into the Old Testament. In the Book of I Kings and the 22nd chapter. And maybe you won't have time to read it just now, but maybe when you get home.

E-8 C’était à l’époque du règne d’Achab, roi d’Israël, et de Josaphat, roi de Juda. Et nous savons tous que sous le règne d’Achab, côté matériel, Israël avait prospéré; mais, spirituellement parlant, ils étaient bien bas.
Mais Josaphat était un croyant. Son père avant lui était un croyant. Et alors, un jour Josaphat a commis cet acte qu’il ne fallait pas, c’est tout à fait possible que ç’arrive à chacun de nous, que nous commettions un mauvais acte. C’est si facile. Josaphat est allé rendre visite à Achab. C’est là qu’il a commis une erreur. La Bible nous dit de sortir du milieu des incroyants, de ne pas avoir des relations avec les incroyants ni de nous associer à eux. Et Josaphat est allé rendre visite à Achab, et Achab a voulu lui faire vivre de beaux moments.
Comme d’habitude, si le monde peut vous amener quelque part dans une petite boîte de nuit, ou à une soirée, chez certains voisins mondains, les gens voudront certainement vous offrir un spectacle. Et le diable cherchera à vous faire croire que vous passez de beaux moments. C’est ce qu’il fait, pour vous séduire et vous ramener. Et lorsque vous voyez le monde faire cela ou plutôt le diable vous offrir trompeusement la prospérité, rappelez-vous, il vous édifie pour une grande déception. C’est juste.
| E-8 It was during the time of the reign of Ahab, king of Israel, and Jehoshaphat, king of Judah. And we all know that how the reign of Ahab, as far as materially, it prospered, but spiritually speaking it was at a low ebb.
But Jehoshaphat was a believer. His father before him was a believer. And then one day Jehoshaphat made that wrong move, which is most likely to come to every one of us, that we make that wrong move. It's so easy. Jehoshaphat went down to visit Ahab. There's where he made a mistake. The Bible said for us to come out among unbelievers, not to be connected and associated with unbelievers. And Jehoshaphat come down to visit Ahab, and Ahab wanted to show him a great time.
As usually, the world, if it can just get you out to a little night club somewhere, or a party, some of your worldly neighbors, they'll want to really put on a show for you. And the devil will try to make you believe you're having a good time. That's the way he does it, to entice you back. And when you see the world doing that or the devil giving you a prosperity, falsely, remember, he's building you up for a great let-down. That's right.

E-9 Achab avait donc un intérêt personnel en vue. Et, généralement, c’est ce que fait le monde. Les gens ont un intérêt personnel en vue. Ainsi, puisque Josaphat était un grand homme et que Dieu était avec lui, quand il est arrivé là, Achab lui a offert une très grande hospitalité. Mais Achab a dit: «Tu sais, il y a une petite terre là à Rama–là à Ramoth en Galaad, qui en fait nous appartient. Je veux que tu montes avec moi pour m’aider à la reprendre.» Il ne pouvait simplement pas être satisfait.
Et je pense que beaucoup de gens aujourd’hui sont comme Achab, et je déclare qu’Achab était un croyant frontalier–un croyant tiède, un croyant à la manque, un soi-disant croyant. Remarquez, il avait toujours un intérêt personnel en vue, mais il n’était pas satisfait avec ce qu’il avait, il lui fallait chercher à avoir plus. Et c’est comme cela que devient l’église parfois; on ne peut pas être satisfait avec Jésus et avec la bonne expérience à l’ancienne mode, expérience d’une très vieille religion d’autrefois, au ciel bleu, qui tue le péché. Il vous faut vous balancer çà et là dans le monde en suivant autre chose. Et le diable est toujours là pour vous offrir ce que vous cherchez.
| E-9 So Ahab had a axe to grind. And usually, that's the way the world does. They have an axe to grind. So when Jehoshaphat was a mighty man, God's with him, and when he come down, Ahab showed him such great hospitality. But Ahab said, "You know, there's a little piece of ground up in Rama--up at Ramoth in Gilead, that really belongs to us. I want you to go up with me and help me to take this." Just couldn't be satisfied.
And I think that's like a lot of people like Ahab today, and I say that Ahab was a borderline believer--a lukewarm, half-baked, so-called believer.
Notice, always an axe to grind, but he wasn't satisfied with what he had, he had to try to go get more. And that's the way the church gets sometimes; you can't be satisfied with Jesus and the good old fashion experience of a good old, backwards, sky-blue, sin killing religion. You have to go to dangling around in the world after something else. And the devil's always present to give you what you're looking for.

E-10 Ève, là au commencement, n’était pas satisfaite avec la merveilleuse communion qu’ils avaient, Adam et elle, avec Dieu; mais il lui fallait chercher une nouvelle lumière. Et le diable a veillé à ce qu’elle ait cela. Et quand vous cherchez à découvrir quelque chose d’un peu fantastique, d’un peu différent de la Parole écrite, le diable est juste là pour vous l’offrir. C’est vrai. Si Ève s’en était tenue à la Parole, ce grand problème du péché ne serait jamais arrivé, car Dieu leur avait promis qu’ils pouvaient vivre éternellement. Mais elle voulait quelque chose d’autre. C’est bien dommage que nous ayons tant d’Eves qui errent çà et là, cherchant à découvrir quelque chose d’autre.
Et il y avait une bonne part de vérité dans ce que le diable lui avait dit. Et le plus gros mensonge qui ait jamais été débité avait une large part de vérité. C’est juste quelque chose de mélangé, quelque chose à mi-chemin; «C’est possible. C’est peut-être ça.» Si Dieu ne l’a pas dit, laissez tomber cela.
| E-10 Eve was not satisfied in the beginning with the wonderful fellowship that she and Adam had with God, but she had to hunt some new light. And the Devil seen she got it. And when you try to find something that's a little fantastic, a little different from the written Word, the Devil's right present to give it to you. That is true. If Eve would've stayed with the Word, this great sin problem would have never happened, 'cause God had promised them that they could live forever. But she wanted something different. It's too bad we've got so many Eve's dangling around, trying to find something different.
And what the devil told her, was a whole lot of truth in it. And the biggest lie that was ever told, has a lot of truth in it. Just something mixed up, half way; "It might be. Perhaps it is." If God hasn't said so, let it alone.

E-11 Mais remarquez, Achab n’était pas satisfait. Il lui fallait aller chercher autre chose. Et le Seigneur venait de lui manifester de la miséricorde, Il allait lui ôter la vie sur-le-champ, mais Il lui manifesta un peu de miséricorde. Et puis, lui n’était pas satisfait avec cela. Il lui fallait essayer d’avoir encore des terres. Alors, Achab a carrément pris les armes pour aller le faire. Mais, je pense que même Josaphat, au beau milieu de toute la confusion qu’il avait, eut l’audace, ou je dirais plutôt qu’il avait de l’expérience, et il était suffisamment certain de Dieu pour essayer de chercher la Parole de Dieu avant de poser un quelconque acte.
Si aujourd’hui l’église pouvait seulement faire autant, si elle ne cherchait tout d’abord que la Parole de Dieu, au travers de la Bible, pour avoir Son plan, Son programme... Mais Achab ne se préoccupait pas de ce que disait la Parole de Dieu. Il voulait tout simplement quelque chose de différent. Mais Josaphat, bien qu’étant un croyant qui avait quitté le terrain où il devait être, cependant il avait assez de Dieu en lui pour chercher la volonté de Dieu. Alors il a dit: «Ne pourrions-nous pas poser la question à Dieu au sujet de ces choses avant que nous les fassions? Ne devrions-nous pas sonder la Parole de Dieu pour connaître ces choses avant que nous les fassions?» Je crois que c’est ce que fera tout croyant né de nouveau. Cela doit venir de la Parole, surtout en ce jour dans lequel nous vivons, où la Parole de Dieu a prophétisé tant de ces choses.
| E-11 But notice, Ahab, he wasn't satisfied. He had to go get something else. And the Lord had just showed him mercy, and was going to take his life, immediately, but showed him a little mercy. And then, he wasn't satisfied with it. He had to go after some more land. So Ahab was right up in arms to go do it. But I think even Jehoshaphat, right in the midst of all of his confusion, he had the audacity, or I'd say, he had the experience and knowed enough about God to try to seek God's Word, before he made a move.
If the church today would only do that much, would only seek God's Word first, through the Bible, get His plan, His program... But Ahab wasn't paying any attention to what God's Word said. He just wanted something different. But Jehoshaphat, yet a believer, off of his grounds where he should be, yet he had enough God about him, to seek out the will of God.
So he said, "Could we not ask God about these things before we do it? Should not we search God's Word and find out about these things before we do them?" I believe that every born again believer will do it. Got to come from the Word, especially in the day that we're living, when God's Word has prophesied so many of these things.

E-12 Eh bien, quand il a vu que Josaphat voulait s’enquérir auprès de l’Eternel, bien qu’ils n’étaient que des hommes d’affaires, ils croyaient en Dieu. Il dit donc: «Achab, tu sais que le diable a toujours quelque chose qu’il peut présenter pour remplacer la vérité.» Alors il a dit: «Certainement, eh bien, j’aurais dû y penser. Nous allons tout simplement appeler mon groupe de prédicateurs. Tu sais quoi? J’ai le meilleur groupe de prédicateurs du pays. J’ai un séminaire par ici, je les produis simplement par un mécanisme. Et nous avons un vrai groupe de prophètes. Nous allons donc tout simplement les faire venir. Eh bien, je t’assure, je vais faire venir toute l’école.»
Et il a fait venir quatre cents prophètes. Et il a dit: «J’aimerais vous demander quelque chose. Prophétisez pour moi; dois-je monter à Ramoth de Galaad ou m’en abstenir?» Ils sont entrés en prière, ils ont jeûné, tout ce qui se faisait, les prophètes l’ont fait aussi. Comme vous le savez, ils doivent le faire pour voir si c’est la vérité ou pas.
| E-12 Now, when he seen, that Jehoshaphat was going to require at the hand of the Lord, though they were just businessmen, they believed God. So they said, "Ahab, you know the devil has always got something that he can present to take the place of truth. So he said, "Sure, well, I ought to have thought of that. We'll just call up my bunch of preachers. You know what? I've got the best bunch of preachers there is in the country. I've got a seminary down here; I just turn them out by machinery. And we've got a real bunch of prophets. So we'll just call them up. Now I'll tell you; I'll call the whole school."
And he called up four hundred prophets. And he said, "I want to ask you fellows something. Prophesy to me, shall I go up to Ramoth-Gilead or shall I forebear?" They went into the prayer, fasting, what ever they did, the prophets do. As you know, they have to do, to find out whether it was truth or not.

E-13 Je veux que vous remarquiez l’insouciance de ces soi-disant prophètes. Il est possible qu’ils aient eu un petit orchestre qui jouait. Il est possible qu’ils aient jeûné quelques jours. C’est en ordre. Je n’ai rien contre cela. Il est possible qu’ils aient tenu une réunion de prière, et Dieu sait que nous en avons besoin. Mais un jour, la réunion de prière et tout le reste prirent fin, ils eurent une révélation. Et quatre cents de ces prophètes, tous d’un commun accord, sont allés là et ont dit: «Monte, Dieu est avec toi, et tu vas le reprendre.»
Leur révélation ne s’accordait pas avec la Parole de Dieu. Mais ils y croyaient de toute façon. Ainsi le jeûne, la prière, le sensationnel, tout ce que ça peut être, si cela ne s’accorde pas avec la Parole de Dieu, laissez tomber cela. Ils ont jeûné, prié, sans doute que c’étaient des gentlemen, chacun d’eux, de braves hommes très religieux, cultivés, mais il y avait quelque chose qu’ils avaient laissé de côté. Eh bien, tous se mirent alors à crier: «Monte. L’Eternel sera avec toi, AINSI DIT LE SEIGNEUR.»
Et vous savez, cela a tellement plu à Achab, je peux l’imaginer mettant les mains aux hanches et disant: «Tu as suivi? C’est le groupe le plus distingué qui déclare cela.» Mais, vous savez, ça ne colle pas toujours avec un homme de Dieu.
| E-13 I want you to notice the recklessness of these so-called prophets. They might've had a little band playing. They might have fasted a few days. That's all right. Nothing against that. They might have had a prayer meeting, and God knows we need it. But one day, got the prayer meeting and everything over, they got a revelation. And four hundred of them, with--all with one consent, went out and said, "Go on up, God's with you, and you're going to take it."
Their revelation didn't cooperate with God's Word. But they believed it anyhow. So fasting, prayer, fantastics, whatever it may be, if it don't cooperate with God's Word, leave it alone. They had fasting, prayer, no doubt that they were gentlemen, everyone of them, real religious, cultured, fine men, but there was something they left out. And they never done it through willfulness.
Now, when all of these began to cry out, "Go up. The Lord is going to be with you; Thus saith the Lord."
And you know that just pleased Ahab so well, I could just imagine him putting his hands on his hips, and said, "You see that? That's the cream of the crop saying that." But you know, that don't always jibe with a man of God.

E-14 Ce Josaphat a dit: «Maintenant, juste une minute. N’en avez-vous pas un autre?»

Quatre cents prédicateurs... Je me demande comment ils ont eu leurs licences? Quatre cents prédicateurs d’un commun accord ont dit: «Monte. L’Eternel est avec toi.»
Mais Josaphat a dit: «Vous savez, ça ne sonne simplement pas correct.» Frère, la Bible dit: «Mes brebis connaissent ma voix. Elles ne suivront point un étranger.» Josaphat a dit: «N’en avez-vous pas juste un autre?»Un autre? «Voici quatre cents des meilleurs prophétiseurs qu’il y a dans le pays.» Pour cet homme de Dieu, il n’y avait pas assez de vérité. Il savait que la Voix de Dieu ne donnait pas un tel son. Alors il a dit: «Eh oui, j’en ai un autre, mais il n’est pas membre de notre dénomination. Il ne fait pas équipe avec nous de toute façon.» Vous savez, il y avait assez de Dieu en Josaphat pour dire: «J’aimerais vraiment l’entendre.» Achab a dit: «Oh! on pourrait lui demander, mais je t’assure, je déteste ce petit saint exalté.» Certainement. Il a dit: «Il n’a jamais rien dit de bon à mon sujet ni au sujet de ma dénomination.» Il a dit: «Il s’appelle Michée; il est le fils de Jimla.» Que Dieu nous donne davantage de Michée.
Il a dit: «Je déteste ce petit homme.» Il a dit: «Il s’en prend toujours à moi et à ma grande école.» Ils n’avaient pas la Parole, c’était là la raison. Il a dit: «Tu sais, je ne veux même pas voir ce gars.» Mais Josaphat a dit: «Que le roi ne parle pas ainsi. Ecoutons-le quand même.» «D’accord. Mais je te préviens; il va condamner chaque prédicateur qui se tient ici.» Il était lui-même avisé, n’est-ce pas? «Il va éventrer cette histoire. Et tous nos grands espoirs vont être ruinés. Nous ferions mieux de ne pas laisser venir ce saint comédien. Il n’aura pas la coopération de ces hommes.»
| E-14 This Jehoshaphat said, "Now just a moment. Haven't you got just one more?"
"One more?
Four hundred preachers... I wonder how they got their credentials? Four hundred preachers with one accord said, "Go up. The Lord is with you."
But Jehoshaphat said, "You know, that just don't sound right." Brother, the Bible said, "My sheep know My voice. A stranger they'll not follow."
Jehoshaphat said, "Haven't you just got one more?"
One more? "Here's four hundred of the best prophesiers there is in the land." There just wasn't enough truth for that man of God. He knowed God's voice didn't sound like that. So he said, "Oh yes, I've got one more, but he don't belong to our denomination. He just don't hook up with us, somehow."
You know, there was enough of God about Jehoshaphat to say, "I'd just like to hear him."
Ahab said, "Oh, we might ask him, but I'm telling you, I hate that little holy-roller." Sure. He said, "He never did say any good thing about me or my denomination." Said, "His name's Micaiah; he's the son of Imlah." God give us some more Micaiahs. Said, "I hate that little fellow." Said, "He's always kicking against me and my big school." They didn't have the Word, that was the reason. He said, "You know, I don't want to even see that guy."
But Jehoshaphat said, "Don't let the king say so. Let's hear him anyhow."
"All right. But I'm warning you; he's going to condemn every preacher standing here." He knowed better hisself, didn't he? "He's going to rip this thing wide open. And all of our great hopes is going to be shattered. We'd better not let that little holy-roller come. He won't have any cooperation from these men.

E-15 Josaphat a dit: «De toute façon, j’aimerais juste l’entendre. J’aimerais connaître son point de vue sur la chose.» Voilà une pensée très raisonnable.
Il a dit: «D’accord. Maintenant, nous allons aller par ici et tenir une grande réunion spirituelle.» Et ils ont mis leurs robes et ils sont entrés dans une petite maison, ce n’était pas dans le palais, mais ils ont tenu une grande réunion là. Et ils ont envoyé un serviteur, ou plutôt un soldat prendre Michée. Et pendant qu’on était allé chercher Michée, le prophète, tous ces prophètes se sont vraiment donné un bon moment. Ils ont eu la victoire. J’imagine qu’ils ont fait des histoires là-bas. Et bien vite, ils virent des signes apparaître.
Un homme du nom de Sédécias s’avança, le chef de tout le groupe. Il s’était fait une paire de corne comme un signe... des cornes de fer. Et il courait ça et là, heurtant tout le monde en disant: «AINSI DIT LE SEIGNEUR. Nous avons le signe. Maintenant, nous ne pouvons pas être dans l’erreur. Mais maintenant, nous avons le signe, et nous allons repousser cette chose jusqu’à son extermination.» Oh! quelle réunion ils ont eue!
Je vois Achab disant: «Tu vois, regarde comment ils le font. Tu sais, frère, c’est la victoire.» Et le problème, c’était que ces hommes étaient sincères et qu’ils étaient oints.
| E-15 Jehoshaphat said, "I'd just like to hear him anyhow. I'd like to see his side of it." That's a good sensible thought.
Said, "All right. Now, we'll go over here and have a great spiritual meeting. And they put their robes on and went out into a little place, not in the palace, but they had them a big meeting out there. And they sent a servant, or a soldier, to get Micaiah. And while they were gone after Micaiah, the prophet, all these prophets really had them a time. They got the victory. I imagine they had some carrying on down there. And the first thing you know, they got some signs appearing.
One man went by the name of Zedekiah, the head of them all. He made him a pair of horns for a sign--iron horns. And he was running around butting everybody, saying, "Thus saith the Lord. We got the sign. Now, we can't be wrong. But we got the sign now, and we're going to push this thing to the finish." Oh, what a meeting they had.
I see Ahab saying, "You see, look how they do it. You know, Brother, that's the victory." And the thing of it was, these men were sincere and anointed.

«Oh! ils tiennent une réunion; il te fallait voir cela. Ces prédicateurs sont tout simplement en train de passer un moment merveilleux là-bas. Ils sont en train d’avoir un jubilé. Ils ont la bénédiction. L’onction est sur eux. Eh bien, quand je partais, l’orateur principal tenait une paire de cornes et courait çà et là, disant: ‘AINSI DIT LE SEIGNEUR.’»
| E-16 Now watch. So the soldier that went to get little Micaiah, probably found him out in the woods somewhere, praying or reading the Bible. The soldier come up, and he said, "Micaiah, the son of Imlah, you know, the king wants you to come down and prophesy before him."
"Oh, he does, does he? Now, what's happened?"
"Oh, they're having a meeting; you ought to see it. Them preachers are just having a wonderful time down there. And they're having a jubilee. They've got the blessing. The anointing is upon them. Why, when I left, the chief speaker had a pair of horns, and he was running all around, and had, "Thus Saith the Lord."

E-17 Le soldat savait que Michée se disait que ça ne sonnait pas correct. «Eh bien, je vais alors aller prêcher un sermon pour eux.» Alors, sur le chemin, il a dit: «Eh bien, Michée, j’ai été envoyé par le chef de l’organisation. Si tu veux communier avec ce groupe de prédicateurs, dis exactement ce qu’ils disent. Oui. Ne dis rien de contraire à leur doctrine. Sinon, ta peine sera plus que l’excommunication. Ils ne t’inviteront plus jamais.»
Mais il se faisait qu’il parlait à la personne qu’il ne fallait pas. Dieu a des gens qui ont du caractère.
| E-17 He knowed Micaiah thought that don't sound right. "Well, I'll go on down and preach a sermon for them then." Now, on the road down he said, "Now, Micaiah, I've been sent by the chief of the organization. If you want to have fellowship amongst that bunch of preachers, you say the same thing they do. Yeah. Don't you say nothing contrary to their doctrine. If you do, you'll be more than excommunicated. They'll never invite you again."
But he happened to be speaking to the wrong man. God has got some people's got a backbone.

E-18 Christ n’a pas toléré leur sottise. Certes, Il était un Homme doux. Mais quand le mal se pratiquait dans la maison de Dieu, Il prit ces cordes, les tressa et Il renversa leurs vieilles tables, Il les chassa de la maison, et Il dit: «Il est écrit...» Pas quelle apparence la chose avait, combien les gens prospéraient et combien de pharisiens et de sadducéens ils avaient ordonnés, Il dit: «Il est écrit.» Tout véritable serviteur de Dieu se réfèrera à cette Parole. «Il est écrit: la maison de Mon Père sera une maison de prière. Et vous en faites une caverne de n’importe quoi d’autre.» Et combien c’est vrai aujourd’hui!
Alors qu’a-t-il fait? Michée a dit: «Peu m’importe ce qu’ils disent, l’Eternel est vivant, je dirai ce que Dieu dira.» Ce dont nous avons besoin aujourd’hui, ce sont des prédicateurs et des hommes qui diront ce que Dieu déclare être la vérité. Peu importe que vous bâtissiez sur une grande organisation, si ce n’est pas bâti sur la Parole de Dieu, cela s’effondrera. Peu importe ce que vous avez d’autre, cela s’effondrera si ce n’est pas bâti sur la Parole de Dieu.
| E-18 Christ didn't take their silliness. Sure He was a meek Man. But when the wrong thing was going on in the house of God, He took them ropes and platted them together, and kicked their old tables over, and drove them out of the house, and said, "It is written..." Not how it looked, how they was prospering, how many Pharisees and Sadducees they were ordained, he said, "It is written." Every true servant of God will go back to that Word. "It is written, my Father's house shall be a house of prayer. And you're making it a den of everything else." And how true that is today.
So what did he do? Micaiah said, "I don't care what they're saying, as the Lord liveth, I will say what God says." That's what we need today, is preachers, and men who will say what God's says to be the truth. No matter if it's a great organization that you're building upon, if it's not built upon the Word of God, it'll fall. No matter what else you have, it'll fall if it's not on the Word of God.

E-19 Remarquez, quand Michée est descendu là et qu’il est arrivé à l’assemblée, eh bien, je peux entendre Achab dire: «Eh bien, voilà venir ce petit saint exalté. Il faut que je veille à ce qu’il va dire.»
Il a dit: «Michée, qu’en est-il de cela? Monterai-je à Ramoth en Galaad ou dois-je m’en abstenir?»
Michée a dit: «Oh! monte.» Il voulait voir la réaction de tous les ministres. Je peux m’imaginer qu’ils ont tous souri et ont dit: «Ah! c’est comme ça, Michée. Nous allons faire de toi l’ancien de district. Nous allons faire quelque chose pour toi, mon garçon.»
Michée a dit: «Une minute. Je n’ai pas du tout terminé. J’ai vu Israël éparpillé comme des brebis sans berger.»
Et Achab s’est tourné vers Josaphat et a dit: «Que t’avais-je dit? Que t’avais-je dit?» Qu’est-ce que Michée pouvait dire d’autre, du moment que Dieu avait déjà condamné Achab?
| E-19 Notice, when Micaiah gets down there, and to the congregation, well, I can hear Ahab say, "Well, here comes that little holy-roller. I'll have to just see what he's going to say."
He said, "Micaiah, what about it? Shall I go up to Ramoth-Gilead or shall I forbear?"
Micaiah said, "Oh, go on up." He wanted to see the action of all the ministers. I could imagine they all smiled, said, "Ha. That is the way, Micaiah. We'll make you the state presbyter. We'll do something for you, boy."
Micaiah said, "Just a moment. I never finished it all. I saw Israel scattered like sheep, having no shepherd."
And Ahab turned around to Jehoshaphat and said, "What did I tell you? What did I tell you?" What else could Micaiah say, after God had already condemned Ahab?

Et tout autre fondement qui est posé en dehors de celui de Jésus-Christ et de Son Sang, de la foi... sauvé par la foi, c’est une fausse prophétie.
| E-20 Now, and he said, "I saw the heavens open, and I saw angels and spirits on the right-hand and on the left-hand of God. And they were holding a council in heaven, the same time you were having this meeting down here. And one said, 'How can we get Ahab to go up there to Ramoth-Gilead, because the Word of God has to be fulfilled?'" The Word of God had said that the dogs would lick the blood of Ahab. And if God has cursed the thing, how can we prophesy blessings on the thing? And any other foundation that's laid, besides that of Jesus Christ, and His Blood, and faith--saved by faith, is false prophesy.

E-21 Et il a dit: «Maintenant...» Beaucoup d’entre nous entrent dans l’église par une poignée de main; beaucoup d’entre nous par le baptême; beaucoup d’entre nous par des sensations. Eh bien, dans le Sud, ils ont même rabaissé cela, disant que vous n’avez pas le Saint-Esprit avant que l’huile coule de votre visage ou de vos mains. Oh! le relâchement de l’Eglise pentecôtiste! Pendant combien de temps supporterez-vous de telles choses? Il n’est pas étonnant que Dieu ne puisse pas restaurer les dons et les placer dans l’église. Il n’a pas de fondement sur lequel les poser, car Il ne les posera sur rien d’autre que le fondement de la Parole de Dieu. Il n’est pas étonnant que ces choses arrivent de la manière... Il connaît le coeur de l’homme; Il sait ce qu’il y a en vous. Peu importe ce que vous dites ici, Il sait ce qu’il y a en vous. Et Il ne peut pas poser ce fondement sur autre chose que cette Bible. Et quand nous devenons tellement épuisés et tellement faibles que nous nous laissons prendre par chaque petit vent de doctrine... Nous sommes comme une feuille sur un lac en automne, de sorte que chaque petit vent nous emporte de ce côté-ci et de ce côté-là. Soyez stables sur la Parole de Dieu, car avec cette Parole vous ne passerez jamais.
| E-21 And he said, "Now..." Many of us go into church by shaking hands, many of us by baptism, many of us by sensations. Why, they've even got it down in the southlands, that you're not got the Holy Ghost, until there's oil pouring out of your face or out of your hands. Oh, the weakness of the Pentecostal church! How long will you stand such things? No wonder God can't restore the gifts and put them in the church: He has no foundation to lay it on, for He will never lay it on anything but the foundation of the Word of God. No wonder these things are happening the way... He knows the hearts of man; He knows what's in you. Now matter what you say here, He knows what's in you. And He can't lay that foundation on anything else but this Bible.
And when we become so frazzled and so weak, until we fall for every little wind of doctrine... We're like a leaf on an autumn lake, that every little wind sweeps us this a way and that way. Be stabled on the Word of God, for you'll never pass with that Word.

E-22 Remarquez, alors ce petit prophète s’est tenu là et a dit: «J’ai vu les esprits qui sont de part et d’autre de Dieu, et ils avaient un petit entretien là-haut (pas un entretien, ils tenaient un petit conseil), ils ont dit: ‘Qui peut-on faire descendre pour amener Achab là-bas, car la Parole de Dieu a déclaré qu’il doit se faire tuer et que les chiens doivent lécher son sang?’» Et ils ont dit... L’un a dit telle chose. L’un a dit: «Je vais vous dire ce que nous allons faire; nous allons le faire comme ceci.» Et l’autre a dit: «Nous allons le faire comme cela.» Et aujourd’hui, les amis, Dieu travaille au Ciel de la même façon qu’ils ont travaillé alors. Et un esprit qui était un esprit de mensonge se présenta et dit: «Je sais comment je vais m’y prendre. Permettez-moi de descendre, et je vais m’introduire là dans ce séminaire, dans cette école, et je vais oindre chacun de ces prédicateurs. Car, de toute façon, ils ne connaissent pas la Parole de Dieu. Et ils pensent qu’aussi longtemps qu’un petit frisson leur parcourt le dos, et qu’ils peuvent crier un peu, c’est tout, c’est tout ce qu’il leur faut. Et je vais les amener à prophétiser un mensonge, car ils ne connaissent pas la Parole.»Frère, s’il est une chose qu’un chrétien né de nouveau doit connaître et étudier, c’est la Parole de Dieu. L’ennui, c’est que nous essayons d’édifier... Tout homme... L’homme ne vivra pas de pain seulement, mais de chaque Parole qui sort de la bouche de Dieu.
Et, écoutez, vous vieux saints, honte à vous, vous qui êtes sauvés depuis vingt ou trente ans, et qui malgré tout, n’en savez pas plus sur la Parole de Dieu que vous laisser prendre par une petite sensation. Vous vous appuyez sur une excitation et sur votre église; «Oh! nous avons cette église; c’est la plus grande de la ville. Un de ces jours nous allons construire une église plus grande que la leur là-bas.» Le soir, vous avez la tête plongée dans une télévision. Vous lisez de vieux magasines d’histoires vécues et toute sorte de sottises comme cela, alors que vous devriez chaque jour plonger la tête dans la Parole de Dieu.
| E-22 Notice, then this little prophet stood up, and he said, "I saw the spirits on both sides of God, and they were in a little discourse up there (not a discourse, they were in a little council), and they said, 'Who can we get to go down and bring Ahab up there, because the Word of God has said he must be killed and the dogs must lick his blood.'" And they said... One said this a way.
One said, "I tell what we'll do; we'll do it this a way." And the other said, "We'll do it that way."
And today, friends, God is working in heaven the same way that they worked there. And one spirit come up, which was a lying spirit, and he said, "I know how I'll do it. Let me go down, and I'll get in that seminary down there, in that school, and I'll anoint every one of those preachers, 'cause they don't know the Word anyhow. And they think as long as they got a little shiver running down their back, and can shout a little, it's all over; that's all they need. And I'll cause them to prophesy a lie, 'cause they didn't know the Word."
Brother, if there's anything that a borned again Christian ought to know, and study, is the Word of God. The trouble of it is, we try to build... Every man... Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
And listen, you old saints, shame on you, that's been saved for twenty and thirty years, and still know no more about the Word of God than to fall for some little sensation. You've been living on excitement and upon your church; "Oh we have this church; it's the biggest in the city. One of these days we'll build a bigger church than them, over there." You got your head in a television at night. You're reading old "True Story" magazines, and all kind of tommyrot like that, when you ought to have your head daily in the Word of God.

E-23 Et maintenant, à vous prédicateurs... Je parlais aux laïcs... Maintenant, à vous prédicateurs, si vous n’avez pas comme préoccupation de savoir si oui ou non vous serez un homme important, si vous allez assister à la prochaine conférence, et si on va vous faire des éloges, ou si votre petite dénomination va faire ceci ou cela... Votre tête est plongée dans d’autres choses en dehors de la Parole de Dieu. Lorsque cet ennemi arrive dans la ville, vous devriez être sur la muraille, à prévenir les gens de cela. C’est juste.
| E-23 And now, to you preachers... I was talking to the laity... Now, to you preachers, if you didn't have your mind on whether you was going to be a big shot or not, whether you was going to go to the next conference, and they're going to put a feather in your hat, or your little denomination's going to do this, or that, or other... You've got your head in other things besides the Word of God. When that enemy comes to the city, you would be standing on the wall, warning the people about it. That's right.

E-24 Remarquez. Eh bien, ces hommes n’étaient pas juste des novices. C’était un groupe de gens sélectionnés, trillés sur le volet. Mais c’était la main de l’homme qui les avait choisis. Dieu avait choisi un petit saint exalté. Observez-le.
Et puis, vous savez quoi? Lorsque ce petit Michée s’est tenu là, il a dit: «Dieu a envoyé un esprit de mensonge parmi vous. Et chacun de vous a aussi une bénédiction. Et vous êtes des prophètes, et vous êtes en train de prophétiser. Je ne dis pas que vous n’êtes pas de braves gens, mais il y a un esprit de mensonge qui a été envoyé parmi vous.»
Et si la Bible déclare que dans les derniers jours les deux esprits seraient si proches que cela séduirait même les élus, vous feriez mieux de mettre votre tête et votre coeur dans la Bible. Gardez votre pensée sur la Bible, sur Christ.
| E-24 Notice. Well, these men wasn't just overnight men. They were a selected, hand-picked group. But it was man's hands that picked them. God had picked one little old holy-roller. Notice him.
And then you know what? When that little Micaiah stood there and said, "God has sent a lying spirit among you. And everyone of you too, have a blessing. And you're prophets, and you're prophesying. I don't mean to say you're not good men, but there is a lying spirit sent among you."
And if the Bible said in the last days that the two spirits would be so close together, till it would deceive the very elect, you better put your head and heart in the Bible. Keep your mind on the Bible, on Christ.

E-25 Et, vous savez, cela suscita en quelque sorte la juste indignation de ce prédicateur et de sa dénomination, de sa petite organisation. Et le chef, Sédécias, s’avança et, de sa main ouverte, gifla ce petit prédicateur au visage. Il dit: «Par où l’Esprit de Dieu est-Il sorti de moi, si tu L’as reçu?»
Michée a dit: «Attends simplement un petit moment, tu sauras.» C’est juste.
Eh bien, ce prédicateur qui le gifla, Sédécias, était profondément sincère. Et il était tout aussi sincère que Michée. Et je crois que... et il était un brave homme. Et je pense que les autres l’étaient aussi.
| E-25 And you know, that kindly stirred up the righteous indignation of this preacher and his denomination, his little organization. And the head man, Zedekiah, walked up, and with his open hand, smacked the little preacher in the face. He said, "Which a way went the Spirit of God out of me, if you caught it?"
Said, "Just wait a little while, you'll find out." That's right.
Now, that preacher that smacked him, Zedekiah, he was deeply sincere. And he was just as sincere as Micaiah was. And I believe that--and he was a good man. I believe the rest of them was.

E-26 «Eh bien, alors, dites-vous, Frère Branham, où nous avez-vous amenés ce soir? Vous avez donc Michée qui se tient là, sincère, prophétisant par l’Esprit, et ici se tiennent quatre cents qui sont contre lui, qui prophétisent–des prophètes oints et sincères. Maintenant, comment allez-vous distinguer la vérité de l’erreur? L’un d’eux... Quatre cents prophètes ont dit: ‘Ceci est la vérité’, et un seul a dit: ‘Ceci est la vérité.’ Et vous dites que les deux groupes étaient sous l’onction.» Voici comment savoir qui disait la vérité. La prophétie de Michée s’accordait avec la Parole de Dieu. Michée avait la Parole. Peut-être qu’il n’était pas en mesure de s’habiller comme les autres. Peut-être qu’il n’était pas en mesure de crier: «Aaaaamen», comme les autres. Peut-être qu’il n’était pas en mesure de recevoir l’instruction qu’avaient les autres, mais il avait réellement une chose. Peut-être qu’il n’était pas un prédicateur aussi puissant qu’eux, mais il avait la Parole de l’Eternel. Et les cieux et la terre passeront, mais cette Parole ne passera jamais. La Parole du Seigneur demeurera éternellement.
Mes amis, que s’est-il passé? Laissons simplement la chose suivre son cours. Remarquez, avec tout cela, l’assemblée, le roi, l’armée, les millions qui écoutaient cela... ils devaient prendre une décision. Ils jugèrent donc par la personne qui avait la majorité. Dieu n’est pas toujours dans la majorité. Il est parfois dans la minorité, mais Il a toujours raison. Dieu a raison.
| E-26 "Well then," you say, "Brother Branham, where have you got us to tonight? Then you've got Micaiah standing there, sincere, prophesying under the Spirit, and here stands four hundred against him, prophesying--sincere, anointed prophets. Now, how are you going to tell the truth from error? One of them... Four hundred said, 'This is right,' and one says, 'This is right.' And you say, that both groups under anointing." Here's the way to tell who's right. Micaiah's prophecy tallied with God's Word. Micaiah had the Word. He might not have been able to dress like the rest of them. He might not have been able to holler, "aaaaamen", like the rest of them. He might have not have been able to have the education the rest of them had, but one thing he did have... He might not have been as forceful a preacher as they was, but he had the Word of the Lord. And heavens and earth will pass away, but that Word will never pass away. The Word of the Lord, It shall endure forever.
Friends, what happened? Just let it run it's course. Notice, with all that, and the congregation, the king, the army, millions listening to it--they had to make a decision. So they judged by the one that had the majority. God's not always in the majority. He's sometimes in the minority, but He's always right. God is right.

And they were certainly on the minority, but God was with them. And the Bible said that in the last days this thing will be repeated again: woe unto them; they have run in the error of Cain, and perished in the gainsaying of Korah, spots in your love-feast, tossed about with every wind of doctrine. Who's he speaking about? The church in the last days; that's this church, tossed about with every little thing comes along.

Moses was staying on God's Word. God said, "I'm taking you to the promise land." These fellows got cold feet. But Moses stayed on the Word, and so did Caleb and Joshua.

Ils sont sortis du milieu de nous parce qu’ils n’étaient pas des nôtres.» Paul a dit: «Après mon départ, des loups cruels vont... et des hommes de votre propre groupe apporteront des choses pernicieuses.» Il a dit: «Si un ange du Ciel prêchait autre chose que ce que j’ai enseigné, qu’il soit anathème.»
| E-29 Now notice, isn't it strange that that king, after that prophecy, and putting it on the Word of God, that still he didn't understand that? And he went right on anyhow, because the Word of God had to be fulfilled.
Now, closely, put on your shock-proof jackets. Isn't it a strange thing that God will send a truth to a people, and in spite of all the preaching, till you could get hoarse and die, people will plunge right on down the road after some kind of fantastic fanaticism, instead of stay with the Word of God? Why? The Bible said,"They were ordained of old to this condemnation. They went out from us, because they wasn't of us." Paul said, "After my departing, grievous wolves will--and men of your own groups will raise up perverse things." He said, "If an angel from heaven would preach any other thing, than that which I've taught, let him be accursed."

Il a dit: «Comment expliquer que lorsque je suis venu parmi vous, l’un avait une langue, l’autre avait un cantique, et l’autre avait ceci et l’autre avait cela, une sorte de petite sensation insensée?» Il a dit: «Vous êtes des croyants, mais vous n’êtes pas affermis.»
Eh bien, vous savez que Paul n’aurait pas prêché des choses à l’église de Corinthe pour retourner et prêcher quelque chose d’autre à l’église d’Ephèse, puis autre chose à l’église des Thessaloniciens. Il prêchait le même Evangile partout. Mais à cette église d’Ephèse, il pouvait apporter les grands mystères que Dieu lui avait révélés là en Arabie. Il pouvait leur prêcher la prédestination. Ce qu’Il ne pouvait pas prêcher à l’église de Corinthe. Eh bien, il leur fallait encore... Si l’huile ne leur coulait pas des mains, ou s’ils n’avaient pas une sorte de sensation ou quelque chose, ils ne croyaient pas ce que disait la Parole. Il leur fallait avoir une langue, un cantique, un genre de petit signe ou quelque chose comme ça. Mais Paul ne pouvait pas leur prêcher une doctrine solide.
| E-30 Did you notice in the Bible (a few minutes now), Paul didn't have any trouble with the church of Ephesus. They were scholars. They were men who understood. But his trouble wasn't with the Roman church, and he exalts them before God, and talks of their faith. But the trouble he had was with Corinth. Corinth was the place that he had the trouble. For they could not take the Word. Each one wanted a sensation. Said, "Why is it when I come among you, one's got a tongue, and one's got a psalm, and one's got a this and got a that, some kind of a little foolish sensation?" He said, "You're believers, but you're not established."
Now, you know Paul wouldn't have preached things to the Corinthian church, and come back, and preached to the Ephesian church something else, and the church of Thessalonians something else. He preached the same gospel everywhere. But that Ephesian church, he could speak to them some of the great mysteries God had revealed to him down in Arabia. He could preach predestination to them. He couldn't preach that to the Corinthian church. Why, they still had to... If they didn't have oil running out of their hands, or some kind of sensation, or something or other, they wouldn't believe what the Word said. They had to have a tongue, or a psalm, or some kind of a little sign, or something. But Paul couldn't preach solid doctrine to them.

Et je me suis joint à vous afin que je puisse essayer, au moyen de la Bible, de vous secouer et vous débarrasser de vos erreurs, et de vous ramener à une foi solide dans la Parole immuable de Dieu.» Et l’heure est venue, où la pentecôte américaine est soit basée sur un genre de choses sensationnelles (sans quoi, il n’y a rien), soit elle est si froide et si empesée qu’on ne peut pas du tout les aborder. Ce sont là les deux catégories. C’est difficile de rester encore au milieu du chemin.
| E-31 And I've said this, brother and sister, this may be the last sermon I ever preach, but I'll be free of all men's blood. Listen, brother, Paul could not preach to them.
I said, "I found two things in my life. I found the Fundamentalists: Baptist, Presbyterian. I found the Pentecostals. Being a Baptist, myself, was ordained in the Baptist church, I turned them down to come, be with you. I love you. And I seen the error of some of your--some of your doings, but I come with you, so I could bring you back. I went with you, not because I'm turned out of the Baptist church. No, sir. Find out if that's right or not. I was not turned out of the Baptist church; I chose to come with the Pentecostals, 'cause I loved you. And I come with you, so I could try, by the Bible, to shake you from your error, and bring you back to a solid faith in God's unmovable Word.
And the hour has come, when the American Pentecost is either on some kind of a fantastic, or isn't, or is so cold and starchy you can't touch them at all. That's the two classes. Hardly a middle of the road anymore.

| E-32 And now notice, I find that the Baptist people, positionally, and the Lutherans, Presbyterian, they are Bible scholars. They, positionally, know where they stand. But they got the Word without the spirit. They haven't got any faith with that Word they got. And you Pentecostals has got the faith, but you don't know where you're standing. If you knowed the Bible, you wouldn't be so wishy washy to fall for everything. And you know that's true.
Now, if we could only get Pentecostal faith and Baptist theology, or Baptist theology and Pentecostal faith, we'd have it. It's just like a man's got money in the bank, and he don't know how to write a check. And the other one's got--ain't got no money in the bank, and he knows how to write a check. That's just as foolish. If we can only get the man that's got the money in the bank, knows where he's standing by the Word, it would be settled. We could draw dividends off of the Glory of God by the death of Christ, where signs, wonders of the Bible would follow, and we wouldn't need any of these kind of silly things. You know that's the truth.

Why would I eat out of a garbage can, when I could eat at a nice table? Certainly. And I lay that a whole lot on the preachers. That's right. The...?... to stand out somewhere, and everyone would gather like a bunch of cockroaches in the summertime. That's right. I don't say that for jokes. This is not a joking place; this is where the Word of God's going forth. Listen, brother, if you want to make roaches scatter, just turn the light on one time. Why is it? They're bugs of darkness. It takes the light of the Gospel to show up things. That's exactly right. The light of the Gospel.
"Do you believe in signs and wonders, Brother Branham?" Absolutely. But it's got to be Bible signs and wonders. 'Cause the devil's got a counterfeit in the last days to deceive the people by, and I'm on the look out for it. Right. And I'm warning you; stay clear.

| E-34 The Corinthians, they just could believe anything. But they didn't believe the right thing. But now look, do you believe the Ephesian church spoke in tongues? Certainly. Do you believe they had signs and wonders? Yes, sir. But they knowed how to place them. They--their pastors knowed how to set them and put the church in order, but the Corinthians didn't. Each one had to do this, and do that, and do this, and do that. They had the gifts. Paul said, "You've got great gifts; I'm thankful for them." But they didn't know how to use them. That's the way it is in the church today, and it's went on long enough, till the devil's begin to slip in and give you some false signs and wonders. Could you imagine? Brother, we need the Bible, an old fashioned Saint Paul's revival, and a Bible Holy Ghost, the real true Spirit of God.

And my friend, Oral Roberts, has used that many times, that expression, and that's true. God is a good God. He... Certainly, He is. I want to ask you something. God being a good God, did you notice at the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, Peter was at the grave and some women, and Peter recognized the Lord had raised from the dead. He come right back to the disciples, and he said, "The Lord is risen." And the rest of them began to praise the Lord, 'cause they knowed He was supposed to raise from the dead. So, don't you remember what he said to us? They began to rejoice, because the Lord had risen.

«Non, je ne crois pas cela. Non, je ne crois pas cela. Je dois voir les mains ensanglantées avant de croire cela.» Il était le premier pentecôtiste. «Je dois avoir un signe. Je dois avoir un genre de sensation, d’excitation.»
Dieu est bon. Il est apparu et a dit: «Thomas, approche.» Il a dit: «Mets tes mains ici dans Mon côté. Me sens-tu? Puisque tu veux sentir quelque chose, le voici, Thomas. Palpe-Moi. Touche Ma main.»
Et Thomas a dit: «Oh! maintenant je crois.» Il lui fallait avoir une sensation.
| E-36 In this group there was two missing, and one of them was called Cleopas and his buddy. And they were on the road to Emmaus, going back home very sad. They never heard the word yet. So as they journeyed on, Jesus appeared with them. And notice, He didn't go to tell them some kind of fantastic, the first thing He went to, was back to the Word, said, "Fools, slow of heart, don't you know the prophets have said, the Word has said, that Christ must suffer to enter into His glory? He begin with the Word. And Christ always begins with the Word, and stays with the Word. And when He made hisself known to them by a sign, not a fantastic, a sign that He did before them here on earth, which made it a Bible sign, they rushed back, and in this midst of people, they found a guy named Thomas.
"No, don't believe it. No, don't believe it. I've got to have bloody hands before I believe it." He was the first Pentecostal. "I've got to have a sign. I've got to have some kind of a feeling, a sensation."
God's a good God. He appeared and said, "Thomas, come here." Said," Put your hands here in My side. Do you feel Me? If you want to feel something, here it is Thomas. Feel Me. Touch My hand."
And Thomas said, "Oh, now I believe." He had to have a feeling.

E-37 Les autres n’avaient pas besoin d’avoir une sensation. Ils avaient la foi. Ils n’avaient pas besoin de sensation. Thomas, lui, devait avoir une certaine évidence. Eux n’avaient pas besoin d’évidence. La Parole écrite était écrite, et ils avaient foi dans la Parole écrite. The written Word was written, and they had faith in the written Word. Not special hard, brother, that's what Phoenix needs--faith in the written Word.
And He said, "Thomas, now, you've had all the feeling and sensation, and you say you believe." He's got many children, Thomas has. He said, "Now you believe. How much greater is their reward, who has never seen, or had any sensation, and still believe?" I want to be on that side--the greater reward.

Eh bien, rappelez-vous que Gamaliel l’a dit; quelqu’un a pris quatre cents personnes et les a conduites dans le désert, et ils ont tous péri, il se donnait pour un grand personnage. Il n’avait pas la Parole. Mais Jean avait la Parole. Jean a dit: «Je suis la voix de celui qui crie dans le désert. C’était un vrai prophète. Il s’en tenait à la Parole, et au même moment il y avait dans le pays un faux prophète qui conduisit un groupe de–entraîna dans le fanatisme un groupe de gens aimant le sensationnel, pour aller se préparer quelque part à un enlèvement, et ils périrent dans le désert.
| E-38 Today, I was talking to the--my manager, Mr. Moore, while we were having a little fellowship together, and I said, "Brother Moore, what do we need?" And as we was riding along the street in the car, I said, "Brother Moore." I was trying to get him to answer something. I wanted to place him on the Scriptures--not that he needs to be, because he is. But I wanted him on this certain subject, I was going to ask him. I said, "Mr. Moore, you know what we need?" I said, "In the days when the gathering of the people was in Egypt, God sent them a prophet. And when God sent them a prophet, the devil sent them some false prophets." That right? Sure did. "And then when the gathering of the people was again, at the time of liberation, when Jesus was coming, God sent them a prophet, and the only difference they could tell... And there was a false prophet raised up."
Now, remember Gamaliel said so; he took four hundred people, and led them out into the wilderness, and they all perished, supposedly to have been some great guy himself. He wasn't with the Word. But John was with the Word. John said, "I'm the voice of one crying in the wilderness. Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Brother, that old Baptist preacher with a sheepskin jacket wrapped around a pair of little hairy trousers on, he preached repentance, and preached the Word of God like man hasn't since, hardly. He was a true prophet. He stayed with the Word, and there was a false prophet in the land at the same time, who led a bunch of--raised a bunch of fantastics in fanaticism, to go out and get ready for a rapture, somewhere, and they perished in the wilderness.

E-39 Chaque fois que les gens se rassemblent au bout de la route, à une jonction, Dieu envoie un vrai prophète, et le diable envoie un faux prophète. C’est juste. Et nous avons un Prophète, mais qu’En faisons-nous? Il essaie de nous conduire vers la Parole. Nous, nous allons pour attirer des foules.
| E-39 Every time the people are gathered together at the end of the road, at a junction, God sends a true prophet, and the devil sends a false prophet. And I said, "Brother Moore, we need a prophet." I wanted to see what he said. He looked at me a little bit. I said, "And we got a true Prophet. And that true Prophet is the Holy Ghost. He is a spiritual Being. God sent the Holy Ghost to lead the church."
And Jesus said, "When the Holy Ghost is come, He will show you things to come, and will bring these things to your memory, which I've taught unto you." And the true Holy Ghost will teach the Word of God, and stay with the Word, and warn of things to come. That's right. And we've got a Prophet, but what do we do with Him? He tries to direct us to the Word. We go off to draw a crowd.

Retournez à la Parole, et établissez les gens sur la Parole éternelle de Dieu. Oh! si seulement on pouvait comprendre cela!
| E-40 Brother, I'd rather preach to two people and be true in the sight of God, than to stand before ten million, and have to compromise, or to do something contrary, to hurt my Lord Jesus, to do something against his kingdom. I'd rather stand and preach the true Word, than to have an organization of my own. I'd... That's what I did do, by the grace of God, when the first beginning, when all the attention was on the meeting, when I was here at Phoenix. Why, certainly it was presented to me, the devil did. "Why, you could start an organization that would tear this up and tear that up."
I said, "Looky here, Mr. Devil, I was never sent on this earth to tear up, I was sent to this world to preach healing. And I'm preaching the healing of the body of Christ." Back to the Bible. We can never heal the body of Christ on a little sensation: one gets this, and one gets that, and one gets this, and one gets that. Come back to the Word, and put the people on God's eternal Word. Oh, if you could only see it.

E-41 Nous avons un Héros, c’est le Saint-Esprit qui est venu pour nous enseigner et nous conduire dans toute la Vérité. Est-ce ce qu’Il a promis de faire? Eh bien, qu’est-ce que la Vérité? Ce n’est pas de l’huile, ce n’est pas du sang, ce n’est pas ceci et cela. Pas du tout. La Parole est la Vérité. La Bible le dit. Jésus a dit: «Père, sanctifie-les par la Vérité. Pour terminer, je pourrais dire ceci: «On oublie trop vite ces choses. On oublie trop vite le message. Les gens viennent parfois à l’église, ils voient un petit enthousiasme. Parfois, ils viennent pour entendre un bon et célèbre prédicateur prêcher un... un bon théologien prêcher un bon sermon, comme ils le disent. Mais vous manquez de réaliser la raison pour laquelle vous venez à l’église. Vous venez à l’église pour adorer.
| E-41 We got a Hero, that's the Holy Spirit, Who came to teach us and to guide us into all Truth. Is that what He said He'd do? Well, what is Truth? Not oil, not blood, not this, not that. No, sir. The Word is the Truth. The Bible said so. Jesus said, "Father, sanctify them through the Truth. Thy Word is the Truth." The Holy Ghost will testify of the Truth, the Word of God.
In closing, I might say this: too quickly is these things forgotten. Too quickly is the message forgotten. People come to church sometimes; they see a little enthusiasm. Sometimes they come to hear some good, famous preacher preach a--a good theologian preach a good sermon, they call it. But you fail to realize what you come to church for. You come to church to worship.

E-42 Je viens récemment de rentrer de la Suisse, et beaucoup d’entre vous hommes et femmes ici qui avez mon âge... Je pense que c’est tiré des livres de lecture de l’époque. Mais vous connaissez peut-être bien, vous qui êtes à l’estrade derrière moi, la remarquable histoire d’Arnold Von Winkelried. Il était un grand héros en Suisse, il y a plusieurs centaines d’années.
Le peuple suisse s’était rassemblé dans les montagnes, et il avait son petit système économique là-haut...?... leurs maisons, leurs femmes et leurs enfants. C’était des gens pacifiques et ils le sont encore. Et un jour, la Suisse fut envahie. Eh bien, accordez-moi toute votre attention. Et lors de cette invasion, les envahisseurs sont venus avec de grandes lances et une puissante armée, des hommes tous bien entraînés, avec des casques, des boucliers, des écus, des genouillères, des gens bien entraînés. Et les Suisses ont appris que leur pays était envahi par cet ennemi, et ils se sont rassemblés pour protéger leurs petits foyers.
Ils sont descendus des montagnes pour affronter l’ennemi dans la plaine. Et qu’avaient-ils pour se battre? Des massues, des lames de faucilles, des pierres, et tout ce qu’ils avaient pu ramasser. Oh! ils n’étaient pas du tout de taille à faire face à l’ennemi.
Et quand ce petit groupe de garçons suisses s’est tenu là, juste derrière eux il y avait leurs maisons, leurs femmes et leurs enfants, et tout ce qu’ils aimaient et qu’ils appelaient... [Espace vide sur la bande–N.D.E.]
| E-42 I just left Switzerland, recently, and many of you man and women here, who are about my age... I think its from the readers in this day. But you are familiar, perhaps, with--some of the men on the platform behind me--with the great story of Arnold Von Winkelried. He was a great hero in Switzerland, many hundred years ago.
The Swiss people had gathered into the mountains, and had their little economical system up there...?... the homes and their wives and children. They were peace loving people, and are yet. And one day Switzerland was invaded. Now, give me your undivided attention. And in the invasion, the invaders come with great spears and armies, all well trained man--helmets, shields, bucklers, knee guards--well trained. And Switzerland heard that their lands were invaded with this enemy, and they gathered to protect their little homes.
They come down out of the mountains to meet the enemy in the plain. And what did they have to fight with? Clubs, sickle blades, rocks, and whatever they could pickup. Oh, the enemy was too much of a match for them.
And as that little bunch of Swiss boys stood up there, right behind them was their homes, wives, and babies, and all that they loved and called... [Blank.spot.on.tape--Ed.]

E-43 Voilà venir cette puissante armée comme un mur massif en briques, chaque homme étant entraîné, marchant tous au même pas pour exterminer simplement ce pauvre petit groupe de Suisses. | E-43 Here come that great army like a massive brick wall, every man trained, every step the same as they marched on to just totally annihilate that poor little group of Swiss. And as they come on, they seen they were whipped. They were defeated, because of this great army. But it was at that crucial moment, that a man, inspired, by the name of Arnold Von Winkelried, he said, "Brethren, this day I'll give my life for Switzerland."
And they said to him, "Arnold Von Winkelried, what will you do today?"
He said, "You just follow me." Listen. "You follow me and fight with what you've got, and do the best you can." Now, he turned and he said, "Just over the mountain is a little white home. In that little home, my wife and three little children wait for me to return." And said, "I'll never see their face again, but take care of my wife and children, for this day I'll give my life for Switzerland."

E-44 Ils se demandaient ce qu’il allait faire. | E-44 They wondered what he would do. He seen that great on-coming army; he raised his hand, and he screamed with all of his might, "Make way for liberty." And he started running with his hands up, and he screamed again, "Make way for liberty." And when there was a hundred of the best trained spears, for he went right straight to the darkest part of them, and a hundred trained spears moved in to catch him. And when he got right with the spears, he screamed again, "Make way for liberty." And he grabbed a armful of those spears, and throwed them into his chest, and fell to his death--such a display of real heroism, until it routed the army. And those Swiss men with rocks, clubs, and sticks came and drove the enemy out of their nation, and they've never had a war from that day since.

E-45 Cet héroïsme a été rarement égalé et n’a jamais été surpassé, sauf une fois. Ça, c’était une petite chose. | E-45 That heroism is seldom compared with, and never exceeded, until one time. That was a small thing. When the sons of Adam stood in a corner, the sons of Adam's race, and they were defeated... God sent them the law, and they wouldn't keep it. They went after something else. He sent them the prophets, and they wouldn't keep it. And there was ignorance, illiteracy, sin, sickness, diseases breaking down the whole human race, and every hope was gone that the human race could be saved. Then in heaven, there was One Who stepped out, "This day I'll give My life for Adam's race." And when He looked over the earth, and saw where the greatest fear man had was death, He ran to a certain place called Calvary, and there He caught that in His bosom, and as He ascended up, He said, "You wait over yonder, until you're endued with power from on high." He sent back the Holy Ghost and said, "Follow me, and fight with everything you got within you."

E-46 Et, frère, ceci c’est la Parole de Dieu qui est plus tranchante qu’une épée à deux tranchants. C’est la plus grande puissance qui ait jamais été placée entre les mains de l’homme, et Dieu s’attend à ce que la race d’Adam mette le péché, la maladie et toutes sortes de démons contre le mur. | E-46 And brother, this is God's Word, which is sharper than a two-edged sword. It's the greatest power that was ever put in the hands of man, and God's expecting Adam's race to put sin, sickness, and all kinds of devils to the fighting walls. That's right. We've got the most powerful Weapon that there is. Arnold Von Winkelried left them with sticks and stones, but Christ left us with His Word and Spirit. Let's fight! Let's stand for Christ! Let's stand for the Word! Let's pull the sword out of its sheaf and fight.

E-47 Mon frère, je ne suis plus un jeune homme, je suis un homme d’âge moyen, et l’un de ces jours, je devrai arriver au bout de la route. Et si je partais comme la plupart des Branham et des Harvey, quand ils se font vieux, ils deviennent un peu tremblants. Oh! j’espère qu’Il me permettra de vivre jusqu’au bout. Et quand j’arriverai au bout de la route, j’espère que je serai un vieil homme aux cheveux gris, à la barbe grise, appuyé sur un bâton, et quand j’entendrai les vagues du vieux Jourdain osciller partout, et que je saurai que le moment est venu, je voudrais tenir une épée à la main. C’est juste. J’aimerais me retourner et regarder tout le parcours d’une vie de ministère, pour considérer chaque carré de ronces que j’ai traversé et chaque colline que j’ai gravie. Quand ça sera terminé, j’aimerais prendre la vieille épée et la remettre dans le fourreau de l’éternité, ôter le casque du salut, m’agenouiller sur le rivage et dire: «Ô Dieu, envoie le bateau de sauvetage, je rentre à la maison.»

| E-47 My brother, I'm no boy no more, I'm a middle-aged man, and one of these days I've got to come to the end of the road. And if I go like most of the Branhams and Harveys, when they get old they kinda get shaky. Oh, I hope that He lets me stay to the end. And when I come down to the end of the road, I hope an old gray-headed man, gray whiskers, leaning on the staff, when I hear the old Jordan's waves dancing around everywhere, and I know that time has come, I want to be holding in my hand a sword. That's right. I want to turn and look down through a lifetime of ministry, and see every briar patch I come through and every hill I took. When it's done, I want to take the old sword and stick it back into the sheaf of eternity, take off the helmet of salvation, and kneel on the bank, and say, "God push out the lifeboat, I'm coming home."
If I'm faithful to my Saviour,
To His guiding hand I'll cling.
He will guide me over death's river;
Heaven's new, sweet song, I'll sing.

E-48 Que Dieu vous bénisse; inclinons la tête. Eternel Dieu, Sauveur béni, je Te prie d’être miséricordieux envers nous, et tout ce que Tu m’as donné à dire, je l’ai dit. | E-48 God bless you and let us bow our heads. Eternal God, blessed Saviour, I pray Thee to be merciful to us, and with all that Thou has given me to say, I have said it. And You have said in Your Word, "My Word will not return void, but It will accomplish that which It was meant for. And Thou knowest the motives of my heart. As a watchman sit on the wall, I've throwed out a warning to the people, to be careful in these last days. And I pray God it'll sink deep into the hearts of every person, and may the Holy Spirit water it, and may it bring forth great revivals, and in unity of brotherhood among ministers, and the love of Christ shed abroad in our hearts. And may we see before the end of time a great outpouring and a revival. Grant it, Lord. Have mercy upon us. Be Thou merciful to us and forgive us of our sins and trespasses. And let Thy mercies rest with us. We pray in Jesus' Name.

What good does it do to cast the net, if you don't pull it in. Is there a sinner here tonight? I know there is--plenty of you--that would accept Christ and say, "Brother Branham, I am convinced that we're living in the end time. All these things you have been teaching is coming, it's warned in the Bible as the mileposts, and we are at the end of the road. I raise my hand to Christ, tonight, and asked Him to be merciful to me, a sinner, and to remember me in the hour of my death, for I now accept Him."

I know I'm not living the right kind of life; I'm not living what a Christian should be. I'm only just a nominal church member. Oh, I've made two or three trials, but I never got nowhere. Alors levez la main; qu’est-ce que cela? Cela brise chaque loi scientifique qu’il y a au monde. Votre main est censée pendre vers le bas, mais quand il y a quelque chose en vous qui prend une décision pour accepter Dieu et qui lève votre main, cela brise chaque loi; c’est un Esprit en vous, qui dit: «Lève la main maintenant.» Voulez-vous bien le faire? | E-53 Now, don't be carried away with some fantastic. Jesus Christ said, "He that heareth My Words, and believeth on Him that sent Me has everlasting life, and shall never come to the judgment, but has passed from death to life." No emotions, no sensations, it's faith.
We are saved by faith through grace. How's the grace come? "No man can come to Me unless My Father draws him first." Grace: knock [Brother Branham knocks--Ed.] at your heart; you believe it? Then you raise your hand; what does that do? Break every scientific rule in the world. Your hand should hang down, but when there's something in you making a decision for God and raising your hand, it breaks every rule; it's a spirit in you, that's saying, "Raise your hand, now." Will you do it? What little it means. Wished I had time to tell you something on what little it means, to raise your hand or not. But I haven't, I'm just asking you, if God has spoke to your heart, will you do that much, as to raise your hand and say, "God be merciful to me, I now, here, believe, with all my heart, that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, My Saviour." We thank thee for each sinner, that's raised their hands, many of them, and I thank Thee for them. I have preached Your Word; God has knocked at their heart, and they have accepted You, and now they are God's... or Christ's love gift from God. God presents them. "All the Father has given Me will come. And I will give him everlasting Life, and raise him up at the last days." You said it, Lord. There's where my faith anchors. I stand on that rock right there--Your Word. And I believe.
And now, I pray that you'll give them, in returns now, if they have been believing, and borned again, I pray that You'll baptize each of them into the body of Christ by the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and set them in the kingdom work. Grant it, Lord. I asked it in Jesus' Name. Amen.

J’ai dit: «Ni l’huile qui sort de votre corps, ni quoi que ce soit qui sort de votre corps ne peut vous faire du bien.» Et toutes les armes de Dieu sont surnaturelles. Que sont les armes de Dieu? L’amour, la joie, la paix, la patience, la bénignité, la douceur, la bonté, la longanimité, la foi. Rien... Ainsi, toute l’oeuvre naturelle se fait comme le sacrifice de Christ. Nous le croyons tout simplement. C’est par la foi. Ce n’est pas quelque chose que vous devez voir, ni quelque chose que vous devez sentir; vous devez croire cela. Jésus n’a jamais dit: «As-tu vu cela? As-tu senti cela?» Il a dit: «Crois-tu cela?» Crois-tu cela?

I said, "Not oil out of your body, nothing can come out of your body that can do you any good." And the whole armour of God is supernatural. What is the armour of God? Love, joy, peace, long suffering, goodness, meekness, gentleness, patience, faith. Nothing... So all the natural work is done as the sacrifice of Christ. We just believe it. It's by faith. Nothing you have to see, nothing you have to feel; you got to believe it. Jesus never did say, "Did you see it? Did you feel it?" He said,"Did you believe it?" Did you believe it?

E-58 Maintenant, il y a de vrais miracles bibliques qui doivent accompagner les croyants. Et une fois, quand un Juif est venu vers Lui, un Juif, et ce dernier se tenait à l’écart, près de l’assemblée (il s’appelait Philippe), il fut sauvé. Il alla derrière la montagne (J’ai appris que ça fait à peu près une journée de marche), et il a trouvé son ami, un bon signe qu’il était sauvé. Il croyait au Seigneur. Il a dit: «Si tu crois que Je le suis, si tu crois que Je le suis.»
Philippe a dit à l’eunuque: «Si tu crois de tout ton coeur, de toute ton âme, de toute ta pensée.» Il n’a pas dit: «Si tu peux montrer quelque chose.» Il a dit: «Si tu crois quelque chose.»
| E-58 Now, there is true Bible signs to follow the believers. Jesus said one like this: "He that heareth My Words and believeth Me, and the works that I do, shall he do also." Saint John, the 14th chapter, and 7th verse, I believe it is. "He that believeth on Me, the works that I do, shall he do also." What kind of works did He do? He would stand in the audience; people would come to Him. He'd know the very secrets of their hearts. Is that right? And when a Jew come to Him one time, a Jewish man, and stood off by the congregation (His name was Philip.), he got saved. He went around behind the mountain (I'm told it's about a day's journey.), and he found his friend--a good sign he got saved. He believed on the Lord. He said, "If thou believeth that I am, if thou believeth that I am."
Philip said to the eunuch, "If thou believest with all thine heart, with all thou soul, with all thou mind." He never said, "If you could show something." He said, "If you believe something.

Elle a dit: «Nous avons une ségrégation. Il n’est pas de coutume que vous Juifs vous demandiez pareille chose aux Samaritains. Nous n’avons pas de relations.»
Il a dit: «Mais si tu connaissais qui est celui à Qui tu parles, tu M’aurais toi-même demandé à boire.»
Et la conversation s’est poursuivie un petit moment. Il se tenait là, peut-être à une distance de 30 ou 40 pieds [9 ou 12 m–N.D.T.] de la femme. Il était assis, s’appuyant contre le puits, et elle se tenait là où le puits descendait. Il se tenait contre le buisson–le mur du puits. Et Il lui a parlé longuement jusqu’à ce qu’Il découvrît où était son problème. Il a dit: «Va chercher ton mari.»
Elle a dit: «Je n’ai point de mari.»
«C’est vrai; tu en as eu cinq, et maintenant tu vis avec un sixième qui n’est pas ton mari.»
Elle a dit... Eh bien, observez, qu’a dit cette femme? «Seigneur, je vois que Tu es prophète. Eh bien, nous savons que lorsque le Messie viendra, Il fera ceci.» C’est le genre de signe qu’ils attendaient. «Le Messie fera ceci.»
Il a dit: «Je Le suis, Moi qui te parle.» Et elle entra dans la ville en courant, elle dit: «Ne serait-ce point le Messie Lui-même?» Pourquoi? Ces Samaritains avaient été enseignés sur la Parole. | E-60 He set down by a well one day up at Samaria; that's another class of people, the Samaritans. He set down by a well. A woman came out. He was introducing His ministry to the Samaritans. And this little woman come out, and He said, "Bring Me a drink."
She said, "We have a segregation. It's not customary for you Jews to ask Samaritans such. We have no dealings."
He said, "But if you knew Who you were talking to, you'd ask Me for a drink."
And the conversation went on for a little bit. He was standing, might be the distance of thirty, forty feet from the woman. He was setting against the well, and she was standing out where the well went down. He was setting against the bushes--wall of the well. And He talked to her at length, until He found where her trouble was. He said, "Go, get your husband."
She said, "I don't have any husband."
"That's right; you got five, and you're living with the sixth one now, and he's not your husband."
She said... Now, watch, what did that woman say? "Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet. Now, we know that when the Messiah cometh, He will do this." That's the kind of sign they were looking for. "Messiah will do this."
He said, "I am He that speaks to you."
And she run into the city, said, "Isn't this the very Messiah?" Why? Them Samaritans was taught on the Word. They knowed what the Messiah would be. Can you hear me? Say, "Amen." [Congregation says, Amen. Ed.] The Jews, real, well-trained Jews, knowed what the sign of Messiah was. The real, trained Samaritans knew what the sign of Messiah was. I wonder about the Gentiles, when He's made His visit in the last days to the Gentiles, Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today, and forever. Does the Bible say that?

E-61 «Encore un peu de temps et le monde ne Me verra plus, a-t-Il dit. Il y aura des cultes, des clans et des dénominations. Ils ne Me verront plus. Mais vous, vous Me verrez, car Je serai avec vous, même en vous jusqu’à la fin du monde. Les choses que Je fais, vous les ferez aussi.» Si Jésus-Christ est ressuscité des morts, Il est tenu de se manifester de la même vraie manière biblique qu’Il s’était manifesté quand Il était ici sur terre. Comment va-t-Il le faire? Son Corps est assis au Ciel. Ce corps n’apparaîtra ici que lorsque chaque genou fléchira et que chaque langue confessera. Peu importe le nombre de cicatrices que vous avez dans la main et le nombre...?... chose comme cela. Quand Christ viendra, la Bible dit que des antichrists apparaîtront dans les derniers jours. Ils diront: «Oh! Il est ici dans un lieu caché. Il est ici à cette réunion.» Mais, ne le croyez pas. C’est juste.
| E-61 "A little while and the world won't see me no more", He said. "There'll just be cults, and clans, and denominations. They won't see Me no more. Yet, you shall see Me, for I'll be with you, even in you till the end of the world. The things that I do, shall you also." If Jesus Christ is raised from the dead, He's obligated to present Himself in the same true Bible manner that He did when He was here on earth.
How's He going to do it? His body is setting in heaven. It will never appear here until every knee bows and every tongue confess. Don't care how many scars you got in your hand, and how much...?... thing as that. When Christ come, the Bible said there'd be antichrists appear in the last days. They say, "Oh, He's over here in the secret place. He's down here at this meeting." But don't believe it. Right!

E-62 Il a dit: «Car, comme la lumière part de l’orient et se montre jusqu’en occident, ainsi sera l’avènement du Fils de l’homme.» Je viens de recevoir quelque chose dans mon coeur. J’aimerais vous poser une question. La lumière apparaît en orient et en occident. Est-ce juste? La civilisation a commencé en Orient. Le Saint-Esprit est descendu là-bas, l’Enseignant, et ils ont eu des miracles et des prodiges des temps bibliques. Et la Lumière se montre en Orient. Il y a eu un jour sombre, qui n’était ni jour ni nuit, rien que des credos et des dénominations ecclésiastiques. Dans le dernier jour, la lumière brille dans l’hémisphère occidental. Le soleil se couche et la même puissance, le même Saint-Esprit, le même Jésus qui fut crucifié autrefois là-bas, qui est ressuscité, est ici aujourd’hui, faisant la même chose qu’Il faisait, comme Il l’avait promis. Croyez-vous cela?
| E-62 He said, "For as the light cometh from the east, and shineth unto the west, so shall the coming of the Son of man be." Something just come to my heart. I want to ask you something. The light cometh in the east and in the west. Is that right? Civilization started in the East. The Holy Ghost fell back there, the teacher, and they had signs and wonders of Bible days. And the light shines in the east. Its been a dismal day, neither dark nor light, just church creeds and denominations. In the last day, in the western hemisphere the light is shining. The sun is going down, and the same power, and the same Holy Ghost, the same Jesus, that was crucified back there, that raised up, is here today, doing the same thing He did as He promised to do. Do you believe it?

C’est ce que l’Eglise est censée faire, pas quelque chose sans vie, mais Sa vie, ce que Lui a fait. «Ces choses que Je fais, vous les ferez aussi.» Observez cela.

And the Word said that He set five offices in the church: apostles or missionaries, prophets, teachers, evangelist, and pastors--I mean true God-called teachers, evangelists, prophets, and pastors. That's right. And if we are the Vine--or we are the branches, and He's the Vine, He energizes the Vine with His Life. And if it's a apple tree life, it'll bring forth apples, is that right? And if we're the branches, and we are energized with Jesus Christ, it'll reproduce the life of Jesus Christ again. That's what the church is supposed to do, not something without life, but His life, what He did. "These things that I do shall you also." Watch that.

La Bible déclare que Tu es le Souverain Sacrificateur qui peut être encore touché par le sentiment de nos infirmités. Comment le faisons-nous, Seigneur? Nous Te touchons et Te glorifions par Ta Parole. Ta Parole opère les vrais miracles et prodiges bibliques, et je Te prie de l’accorder ce soir, afin que les gens sachent que Tu es Christ et que moi je suis Ton serviteur. Non pas pour ma gloire, Seigneur, mais c’est pour Ta Parole que je le demande, au Nom de Jésus. Amen.
Et que le Seigneur Dieu du Ciel bénisse ces mouchoirs, comme ils ont été ici où la Parole a été prêchée. Que cela guérisse tout le monde. Restaure les foyers brisés; redresse-les, et dans les foyers et dans le pays où il y a la confusion, qu’il y ait une grande paix. Il y aura paix dans la vallée ici un jour, Seigneur. The Bible said that You're a High priest, yet, that can touched by the feeling of our infirmities. How do we do it, Lord? We touch You and glory by Your Word. Your Word operates the true Bible sign and wonder, and I pray that You'll grant it tonight, that they may know that You're Christ, and that I am Your servant. E-78 Maintenant, les amis, si ce soir vous partez de cet endroit sans Christ dans votre coeur, alors que la Parole de l’Evangile a été plantée, et le Saint-Esprit descendant directement et vivifiant cette Parole, et confirmant cela par la Bible, que ce n’est rien d’autre que la Bible, pas une chose sensationnelle... Le véritable Saint-Esprit biblique qui était sur le Seigneur Jésus, descend immédiatement pour vivifier le cep et produire exactement la même chose dans les sarments, ce qu’Il faisait quand Il était ici sur terre, pour accomplir cette Parole: «Je serai avec vous jusqu’à la fin du monde.» Il se tient donc là-dessus. Eh bien, au jour du Jugement–au jour du Jugement, ne me pointez pas du doigt, car je suis quitte. Entendez-vous cela? Je suis quitte. Ne pointez pas votre doigt sur Dieu. Il a envoyé Sa Parole et Il l’a confirmée. Il est totalement quitte. Qu’en est-il de cela maintenant? Si j’étais un membre d’église pendant quarante années, et que le Saint-Esprit me disait que je n’étais pas réellement un saint de Dieu né de nouveau, je me dirigerais vers cet autel maintenant même. Ne voulez-vous pas le faire pendant que nous chantons encore une fois?
| E-78 Now, friends, if you go from this place tonight, without Christ in your heart, as the Word of the Gospel being planted, and the Holy Spirit coming right down, and bringing that Word to life, and proving it by the Bible, not anything outside the Bible, not a fantastic. A real Bible, Holy Spirit, that was on our Lord Jesus, coming right down energizing the vine. and bringing forth the very same thing on the branches, that He did when He was here on earth, to fulfill the Word, "I'll be with you to the end of the world." Then He stands on it.
Now, at the judgment day--at the judgment day, don't point your finger to me, for I'm free. Hear it? I'm free. Don't point your finger to God. He sent His Word and confirmed It. He's absolutely free. What about it now? If I'd have been a church member forty years, and the Holy Spirit was telling me that I was not a real borned again saint of God, I'd make my way to this altar, right now. Won't you do it while we sing once more?

E-79 Que les ministres viennent maintenant ici tout autour, pour être avec ces gens. Ces gens qui se tiennent ici auront besoin d’une église qui soit leur église, et ces pasteurs qui coopèrent ici dans cette série de réunions, ce sont des hommes qui croient ce Message. Ils croient la Parole. Ils vous feront du bien. Cherchez-vous une église quelque part. Faites-vous baptiser et entrez dans l’église. Soyez rempli du Saint-Esprit. Maintenant, pendant que nous chantons, que ceux qui veulent venir le fassent maintenant, les ouvriers, les ouvriers indépendants ainsi que les ministres, venez pendant que nous chantons encore une fois, puis nous allons prier pour les malades, et ensuite nous allons demander une prière pour ces gens. These people, who are standing here, will want a church home, and these pastors, who are cooperating here in this meeting, they're men who believe this message. They believe the Word. They'll do you good. Make you church home somewhere. Be baptized, and go into the church. Be filled with the Holy Ghost. Now, while we sing. Let them come now who will come, and the workers, and the personal workers, and the ministers, come along while we sing once more, then we're going to pray for the sick, and then we are going to ask prayer for these. All right.

E-80 Maintenant, pendant que nous avons la tête inclinée, j’aimerais poser une question sérieuse: «Eglise du Dieu vivant, peux-tu voir le manque de sincérité? Peux-tu voir que ce vieil étang des Etats-Unis a été presque complètement ratissé à la seine? La dernière âme est pratiquement entrée. Voyez-vous pourquoi nous nous rassemblons pour aller outre-mer? Aucun message de ce genre, solidement établi sur un bon enseignement de l’Evangile, et des miracles et des signes se produisant dans une réunion comme cela, dix à cent mille, ou deux cents mille personnes viennent à Christ en une fois. Et puis, parfois vous vous demandez ce que je fais. Qu’est-ce que je fais? Je vous aime. Je jette le filet. Et certains voudraient lever la main, mais alors, ils ne sont pas assez sincères pour venir rendre grâces à Dieu, après que Dieu a été assez bon pour frapper à leur porte.
Beaucoup qui sont assis ce soir... Ne me dites pas le contraire, je sais de quoi je parle. Il y a des hommes et des femmes assis juste ici ce soir, qui savent que le Saint-Esprit leur a dit de venir ici. J’en suis certain autant que je connais ces autres choses. C’est juste. Mais Il appellera. Mais, souvenez-vous, un jour c’est vous qui appellerez, et Il agira envers vous comme vous agissez envers Lui maintenant. Vous récoltez toujours ce que vous semez. Maintenant, ça dépend de vous. La balle est dans votre camp.
| E-80 Now, with our heads bowed, I want to ask this solemn question: "Church of the Living God, can you see the unsincerity? Can you see that the old pond of the United States is about seined out? The last soul's about gone in. Can you see why we rally for the overseas. A message of that type, solidly on good gospel teaching, and a sign and miracles, taking place in a meeting like that, ten thousand to a hundred, or two hundred thousand would come at one time to Christ. Then you wonder sometimes, what am I doing? What am I doing? I love you. I cast the net. And some who would raise your hand, and then not with the sincerity enough to come offer God thanks, after God being good enough to knock at your door.
Many setting here tonight... Don't tell me, I know what I am talking about. There's men and women, setting right here tonight, that knows that the Holy Spirit's told you to come up here. I'm just as positive of that, as I know these other things. That's right. But He will call. But remember, someday you'll call, and He will act to you as you act to Him now. You'll always reap what you sow. Now, it's up to you. I'll leave it to you.

E-81 Maintenant, à l’intention des malades et des affligés, avant que nous priions pour ceux qui sont ici, j’aimerais offrir une prière pour vous.
Père céleste, au Nom du Seigneur Jésus, je fais la prière de la foi, du mieux que je peux. De tout mon coeur, avec tout ce qui est en moi, ô Christ, je leur ai dit que Ton oeuvre de guérison est une oeuvre achevée. Elle a été achevée il y a deux mille ans. C’est à leur foi de le croire. Et Tu es descendu, et Tu nous as tant aimés ce soir, Tu as confirmé la vérité et Tu leur as montré qu’ils peuvent se tenir là dans cet auditoire et se mettre à prier, que Tu peux Te retourner directement et–et leur dire qui ils étaient et d’où ils sont venus et tout à ce sujet, et la raison pour laquelle ils priaient, et les guérir. Ô Dieu, qu’est-ce qui peut–qu’est-ce qui peut rester sinon le jugement, lorsque la miséricorde est rejetée?
Ô Dieu, je n’ai pas l’intention d’être un prédicateur rude. Je n’ai pas l’intention de faire cela, ô Dieu, Tu le sais, mais comment puis-je dire quelque chose si Tu ne l’as pas mis dans ma bouche? Ce n’est pas prémédité. Je ne sais pas ce qu’il faut dire. Tu as dit: «Ouvre ta bouche, Je vais la remplir.» Et c’est ce que je fais, Seigneur, et je crois en Toi.
| E-81 Now, to the sick and the afflicted, before we pray for these that's here. I want to offer prayer for you.
Heavenly Father, in the Name of the Lord Jesus, I pray the prayer of faith, the best that I know how. With all my heart, with all that is within me, Christ, I have told them, that You're work of healing is a finished work. It's been finished two thousand years. It's for their faith to believe it. And You have come down, and so loved us tonight, You have vindicated the Truth and proved it to them, that they could set in this audience and start praying, You'd turn right back around, and--and tell them who they was, and where they come from, and all about it, and what they were praying for, and heal them. God, what could a--what could be left but judgment, when mercy is spurned.
God, I don't mean to be a rough preacher. I don't mean to do that God, You know it, but how can I say anything, 'less you put in my mouth. It's not premeditated. I know not what to say. You said, "Open your mouth, I'll fill it." And I do it, Lord, and I believe You.

E-82 Et je vais prier pour ces malades et ces affligés maintenant même avec toute la foi que j’ai, afin que Tu guérisses chacun d’eux qui est maintenant dans Ta Présence divine. Qu’ils sachent qu’il s’agit de Toi, et qu’ils tendent simplement la main pour s’emparer de Toi et de Ta promesse, et être guéris.
Et puis, autour de cet autel, Seigneur, opère une guérison dans une plus grande mesure, dans une mesure plus élevée, au niveau le plus élevé qui soit, la guérison éternelle, l’Esprit éternel faisant des créatures du temps des créatures éternelles. Comme c’est merveilleux! Ces hommes et ces femmes ont levé la main, ils étaient reconnaissants que Tu leur aies donné la Vie Eternelle, et ils sont venus ici pour faire une confession publique qu’ils croient en Toi, et qu’ils se repentent de leurs péchés, et ils T’offrent des actions des grâces pour les choses que Tu as faites pour eux.
Et maintenant, Seigneur Dieu et mon Sauveur, Toi qui es venu dans Ta Parole, Toi qui fais tout à merveille et qui as dit: «Nul ne peut venir à Moi, si Mon père ne l’attire. Et tous ceux qui viendront, Je leur donnerai la Vie Eternelle. Aucun homme ne peut les arracher de Ma main. Je ne les rejetterai pas. Celui qui écoute Ma Parole, et qui croit à Celui qui M’a envoyé, a la Vie Eternelle et il ne viendra point en jugement, mais il est passé de la mort à la Vie.»
| E-82 And I will pray for these sick and afflicted, just now, with all my faith, that You'll heal every one that's in Divine presence now. May they know that it's You, and just reach up, and take a hold of You, and Your promise, and be healed.
Then around this altar, Lord, healing in a greater measure, in a more higher measure, in the highest plane that there is--eternal healing--eternal Spirit, making eternal creatures out of creatures of time. How wonderful. These men and women raised their hands. They were grateful that You did offer them Eternal Life, and they've come here to make a public confession, that they believe You, and are repenting of their sins, and offering to You thanksgiving for the things that You've done for them.
And now, Lord God my Saviour, You, Who come in Your Word, You Who do all things well, and You said, "No man can come to Me, except My Father draws him. And all that comes, I'll give them Everlasting Life. No man can pluck them from My hand. I will in no wise turn them out. He that heareth My Word, believeth on Him that sent Me, hath Everlasting Life, and shall never come to the judgment, but's pass from death to life."

E-83 Ô Dieu, je sais que Tu as fait cela pour ces gens, parce qu’ils sont venus étant convaincus. Et maintenant, Seigneur Dieu, pendant que des hommes et des femmes se tiennent tout autour d’eux, ceux qui ont été choisis par ce merveilleux groupe de ministres pour être des ouvriers indépendants, et certains sont eux-mêmes des ministres qui ont une expérience, ayant reçu le Saint-Esprit; ils se tiennent ici pour leur imposer les mains afin qu’ils reçoivent le Saint-Esprit. Et je Te prie, ô Dieu, de remplir chacun d’eux qui est dans Ta Présence divine, et qui n’a pas le Saint-Esprit, afin qu’il reçoive le baptême du Saint-Esprit maintenant même, juste en cette heure, alors que je Te les confie au Nom de Jésus-Christ.
| E-83 God, I know You've done that for these people, because they've come under conviction. And now, Lord God, while men and women who are standing around them, whose been chosen by this fine ministerial group to be personal workers, and some are ministers themselves, whose experience, by receiving the Holy Spirit, they're standing here to lay hands on them, that they will receive the Holy Ghost. And I pray, God, that You'll fill everyone in the Divine presence, without the Holy Ghost, that they will receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost, right now, right this hour, as I commit them to Thee, in Jesus Christ's Name.
