E-2 Nous étions impatients de venir ici pour quelque temps. Je peux me souvenir des premiers jours de mon ministère... comment j’avais prêché ici dans l’Oregon, et le Seigneur avait béni de façon si merveilleuse. Sans doute qu’il y a ici ce soir des gens qui avaient assisté à ces campagnes autrefois, en 1948, 1949, partout là-bas, à Portland, à Ashland, à Salem, je pense, et... Oh! J’ignore... beaucoup d’autres villes: Eugene, Grant’s Pass... Nous avions eu de glorieuses réunions; le Seigneur avait béni de façon merveilleuse.
Et j’ai toujours désiré revenir ici pour attraper certaines truites que vous n’arrivez pas à attraper, mais je n’en ai pas encore eu l’occasion. Et c’est comme si chaque fois que je viens, je suis en–en mission pour prêcher. Mais peut-être que je peux... Non, je ne peux pas prendre ma retraite; les ministres ne prennent pas de retraite, n’est-ce pas, frères? Ils ne peuvent simplement pas prendre de retraite. Alors peut-être qu’un jour, je vais simplement partir en congé pour aller à la pêche avec quelques-uns de mes frères qui sont ici. J’ai remarqué aujourd’hui en venant que, partout où nous sommes passés, on délivrait des permis de pêche, des permis de chasse, et... Cela semblait vraiment bon pour un prédicateur fatigué, épuisé.
| E-2 We've been looking forward to coming here for some time. I can remember my early days of my ministry--how that I ministered here in Oregon, and the Lord did bless in such a wonderful way. There's no doubt but there's people here tonight who was in those campaigns back in 1948, '49, along in there, at Portland, and Ashland, and Salem (I believe), and... Oh, I don't know--several different cities, Eugene, Grant's Pass... We had great meetings; the Lord blessed wonderfully.
And I've always wanted to get back out here and catch some of these trout that you people are missing, but I just haven't had a chance yet. And looks like every time I come, I'm on a--a mission to preach. But maybe I can... No, I can't retire; ministers don't retire, do they, brethren? They just can't retire. So maybe some day, I'll just take off and go with some of my brethren here fishing. I noticed today coming down, everywhere we seen was fishing license, hunting license, and... That certainly looked good to a tired, wore out preacher.

E-3 Et ainsi, nous sommes très heureux d’être ici, pour commencer cette campagne de dix jours ici dans votre belle ville. Et nous croyons qu’elle sera une grande bénédiction pour vous et pour moi. Nous ne sommes ici que dans le seul but d’amener notre ministère auprès de vous afin de soutenir davantage la cause pour laquelle vous combattez; et ça c’est la foi qui a été transmise aux saints une fois pour toutes. Nous ne sommes pas ici pour apporter quelque chose d’autre, mais juste pour aider nos frères, pour joindre notre ministère à leurs ministères afin–afin d’avancer ensemble vers le Royaume de Dieu.
Nous croyons certainement que le Seigneur Jésus viendra un jour dans un corps physique, exactement comme celui dans lequel Il était lorsqu’Il fut enlevé. Et j’ai l’impression que ce moment-là est vraiment proche. Lorsque nous voyons toutes sortes de signes de Sa–Sa–de Sa Venue apparaître, et les Ecritures s’accomplir, nous nous demandons tout simplement combien de temps il nous reste encore pour voir ce Bien-Aimé béni que nous avons attendu depuis si longtemps.
| E-3 And so, we are very glad to be here to start this ten day campaign here in your lovely city. And we're trusting that it'll be a great blessing to you and to me. We are here for no purpose but to bring our ministry to you to help further the cause that you're now contending for: and that is the faith once delivered to the saints. We are not here to bring anything different, but just to help our brethren, to pitch our ministry in with theirs, to--to move along towards the Kingdom of God.
We truly believe that the Lord Jesus will come someday in a physical body just like He was taken up. And it looks to me like that that time is certainly drawing nigh. When we see all kinds of signs appearing of His--His--of His coming, and the Scriptures being fulfilled, and we just wonder how much longer it will be until we'll see that blessed One that we've looked for so long.

E-4 Si je ne me trompe pas, la dernière fois que je suis venu dans l’Oregon (ou plutôt une fois), j’étais avec le docteur F.F. Bosworth, une très vaillante âme. Il est mort récemment à l’âge de quatre-vingt-quatre ans; il n’est pas du tout mort... il s’est simplement endormi. Je suis allé le voir... Et lorsque j’avais appris qu’il se mourait, je suis allé le voir. Et lorsque je suis arrivé là, ce vieux prophète âgé était étendu sur son petit lit... Et il est venu à la porte, puis il a levé ses vieux bras décharnés. Nous venions de rentrer ensemble d’une grande campagne en Afrique. Je l’ai pris dans mes bras, et j’ai pleuré: «Mon père! mon père! Char d’Israël et sa cavalerie!» Quel vaillant vieux soldat de Christ!
Et je lui ai dit alors que je me trouvais là, j’ai dit: «Frère Bosworth, quel a été le moment le plus heureux de toute votre expérience chrétienne?»
Il a dit: «Maintenant même, Frère Branham.»
Et j’ai dit: «Vous rendez-vous compte que vous êtes en train de vous en aller?»
Il a dit: «Bien sûr.»
Et j’ai dit: «Pourquoi dites-vous cela alors que vous savez que la mort est juste sur vous maintenant?»
Il a dit: «Frère Branham, tout ce que j’ai soutenu et ce pourquoi j’ai vécu pendant plus de cinquante ans, j’attends qu’Il entre par cette porte à tout moment pour me prendre auprès de Lui.»
J’ai pensé au Psaume de la Vie:
La vie de tous les grands hommes nous rappelle
Que nous pouvons rendre nos vies sublimes,
Et, en partant, laisser derrière nouS
Des empreintes de pas sur le sable du temps.
Si cela était pour moi une empreinte de pas, de savoir qu’après plus de cinquante-cinq ans de ministère dans le champ missionnaire (Il prêchait déjà plusieurs années avant ma naissance), toutefois, à la fin de la route, Jésus signifiait pour lui plus qu’à n’importe quel autre moment de sa vie.
| E-4 If I'm not mistaken, the last time I was in Oregon (or one time) I was with Doctor F. F. Bosworth, great gallant soul. Died at eighty-four years old recently; never died--just went to sleep. I went to see him... And I heard he was dying, and I went to see him. And when I got there, the aged old prophet laying on his little bed... And he come in the door, and he raised those little bony arms out. We'd just come from Africa together on a great campaign. I took him in my arms, and I cried, "My father, my father, the chariots of Israel and the horsemen thereof." Such a gallant old soldier for Christ.
And I said to him while I was there; I said, "Brother Bosworth, when was you the most happiest in all your Christian experience?"
He said, "Right now, Brother Branham."
And I said, "Do you realize that you are going?"
He said, "Sure."
And I said, "Why could you say that while you know that death is right on you now?"
He said, "Brother Branham, all that I have stood for and lived for for better than fifty years, I'm expecting Him to walk in that door at any minute to take me with Him."
I thought of the Psalm of Life:
Lives of great men all remind us
We can make our lives sublime,
With, partings, leave behind us
Footprints on the sands of time;
If that was a footprint to me, to know that after better than fifty-five years of ministry on the field, preaching many years before I was born--that still at the end of the road, Jesus meant more to him than any time in his life.

E-5 Et environ une heure avant qu’il s’en aille pour être avec le Seigneur Jésus, avant que Celui-ci entre le prendre, il était–il était étendu sur son lit, endormi. Et il s’est réveillé, il a regardé dans la pièce. Et sa femme est entrée, avec son fils et beaucoup de bien-aimés. Puis il a parcouru la pièce du regard, et il s’est levé et, pendant plus d’une heure, il a serré la main à ses amis qui étaient morts depuis trente ou quarante ans. En leur serrant la main, il disait: «Eh bien, je me souviens de vous. Vous étiez venu à Christ pendant ma réunion de Joliet. Je me souviens de vous; vous étiez à Montréal, lorsque vous...» Et il appelait par son nom quelqu’un qui était bel et bien mort depuis des années. Les saints ne meurent pas; ils s’en vont tout simplement pour être avec le Seigneur; c’est tout.
Et puis, finalement, après avoir rencontré sa mère, son père et tous les autres, il est retourné s’étendre là sur son petit lit, il a croisé les mains, il a fermé les yeux, puis il s’en est allé à la rencontre du Seigneur. Quel vaillant homme! Je suis sûr que si jamais nous pouvions avoir le privilège de visiter ce glorieux Pays avant la Venue du Seigneur, nous y verrons frère Bosworth avec ses amis, heureux, jouissant de la Vie Eternelle jusqu’au sublime.
| E-5 And about one hour before he went to be with the Lord Jesus, before He came in and got him, he was--been laying on the bed sleeping. And he woke up, looked in the room. And his wife came in, and his son, and many of the loved ones. And he looked around the room, and raised up and shook hands for over an hour with friends of his that had been gone on for thirty or forty years. Shook hands, said, "Why, I remember you. You came to Christ in my meeting at Joliet. I remember you; you was at Montreal, when you..." And called them by name, someone who had been dead for years and gone on. The saints don't die; they just go to be with the Lord; that's all.
And then finally, after meeting his mother and father and all, come back and laid down on a little cot there, folded his arms, closed his eyes, went to meet the Lord. Such a gallant man. I'm sure that if we could ever have the privilege of visiting that great Land before the coming of the Lord, that we'll see Brother Bosworth there with his friends, happy, enjoying Eternal Life to its sublime.

E-6 Maintenant, nous sommes venu dans cette ville avec... sur l’invitation de nos précieux frères d’ici... de différentes dénominations et différentes confessions de la foi chrétienne. Et nous venons unir nos forces avec les leurs pour le bien de cette communauté, de cette ville et de ses environs, afin de faire de cela un–un coin où il sera plus difficile de faire ce qui est mal après cette réunion, un coin où il sera plus facile de faire ce qui est bien après cette réunion; arriver à vous rendre la vie un peu plus agréable, étant donné que si nous pouvons faire une prière de la foi, Dieu guérira les malades de cette communauté en même temps que nos frères; pour lancer un appel à l’intention des pécheurs, peut-être le dernier appel qu’ils recevront, qui fera qu’ils entreront dans ce Pays béni où seuls les rachetés peuvent entrer.
Et c’est dans ce but que nous sommes ici. Notre but principal, c’est de vous voir être préparés pour cela. Ensuite, c’est de prier pour les malades et de voir qu’ils sont guéris, en priant le Seigneur. Et ensuite, autre chose, c’est de... Ceux qui se sont éloignés de l’église, qu’ils retournent à leur église et qu’ils reprennent la communion parmi les croyants. Et puis aussi, nous aimerions amener ceux qui ont rétrogradé et qui se sont éloignés à revenir à cette précieuse communion de l’église avec le peuple de Dieu.
| E-6 Now, we come to this city with--on the invitation of our precious brethren here--the different denominations and different phases of the Christian faith. And we come to join forces with them for the benefit of this community, for this city, and for the round about regions; that it'll make it a--a harder place to do wrong after this meeting, a easier place to do right after this meeting; come to make life a little sweeter for you, see that if we can pray a prayer of faith, that God will heal the sick in the community along with our brethren; to make a call to the sinners, maybe the last call that they'll ever receive, that they'll enter into that blessed land where only the redeemed can go.
And that's what we're here for purposely. Our main purpose is to see you be prepared for that. Next is to pray for the sick and see that they get well, praying to the Lord. And then another thing, is to... Those who have strayed away from church, to go back to your church and take up your fellowship again among the believers. And then also, we would like to get those who've backslid and gone away, back into the precious fellowship of the church again with the people.

E-7 Eh bien, nous n’allons pas chercher à vous garder trop longtemps chaque soir. Ce soir, étant donné que c’est pour la toute première fois que je suis ici, peut-être... Vous direz: «Vous savez, je n’apprécie pas la façon dont ce prédicateur porte sa cravate.» Eh bien, ma femme non plus. Alors, je–je ne... Vous savez... ou quelque chose. Je disais: «Sa façon de peigner ses cheveux.» Mais il n’en est pas question pour l’instant.
Et alors, nous... C’est juste quelque chose auquel vous devez faire face, et faire connaissance avec cette personne. Et ensuite, après une soirée ou deux, vous vous familiarisez. Puis le Saint-Esprit entre et commence à nous bénir, et tous les petits (Vous savez, comme j’appelle cela), les petites frictions et les petits défauts disparaissent. Ensuite nous... Nous sommes alors prêts à entrer dans l’adoration. Et nous en avons pour dix jours, le Seigneur voulant. Prions pour que ce soit quelque chose de glorieux.
| E-7 Now, we'll try not to keep you long each night. Tonight being just my first time here, perhaps... Maybe not five or six people here that I ever seen in my life or ever seen me. But I am... You know, the first night it's usually kindy hard.
You say, "You know, I don't like the way that preacher wears his tie." Well, my wife doesn't either. So I--I don't... You know, and something and other... I used to say, "The way he combs his hair." But that's out of the question now.
And so we... Just something you have to meet, and meet the person. And then after a night or two, you get acquainted. Then the Holy Spirit moves in and begins to bless us, and all the little (you know, as I call it), the little frictions and the little bugs combed out. And then we... We're ready then to go into the worship. And we got ten days, the Lord willing, for this. We pray that it will be a great thing.

E-8 Maintenant, ce–ce n’est pas ma réunion; c’est notre réunion. Nous sommes ensemble. Et chaque petit effort que nous pouvons fournir, même parler à quelqu’un pour l’inviter à venir, et envoyer chercher de pauvres personnes malades et les amener pour que l’on prie pour elles, prendre de pauvres pécheurs égarés, qu’ils viennent pour être sauvés; amener un incroyant à entrer et à s’asseoir pour suivre les réunions, peut-être qu’il pourrait changer d’attitude. Souvenez-vous tout simplement–simplement, beaucoup de grands infidèles se sont convertis juste en écoutant l’Evangile. Comment peut-on être converti sans écouter l’Evangile? Puisque «la foi vient de ce qu’on entend, et ce qu’on entend de la Parole de Dieu.»
Et maintenant, nous allons ouvrir cette précieuse Parole et Y lire juste un ou deux versets, pour un petit texte... pour tirer un contexte. Et puis, je crois que Billy était censé distribuer des cartes de prière ce soir. Je... L’a-t-il fait? Levez la main si quelqu’un a... Il l’a fait. Très bien.
| E-8 Now, it's--it's not my meeting; it's our meeting. We are together. And every little effort that we can put forth, even to speak to somebody to come; send and get some poor sick person and bring them in to be prayed for; get some poor strayed sinner, that they might come in to be saved; get some unbeliever to come in, set back and watch the meetings--maybe he might change his attitude. Just--just remember, many great infidels has been converted just listening at the Gospel. How can you be converted unless you hear the Gospel? 'Cause "faith cometh by hearing, hearing the Word of God".
And now, we're going to open this precious Word and read just a verse out of it, or two, for a little text--to find a context. Then I believe that Billy was supposed to give out some prayer cards tonight. I... Did he do it? Raise up your hands if there's anybody got... He did it. All right.

E-9 Quelquefois la première soirée, nous ne prions pas pour les malades. Nous... Nous n’avons jamais de programme fixe où tout a déjà été arrêté; nous laissons simplement le Saint-Esprit conduire. Et je pense que c’est ce dont les gens ont besoin: laisser simplement l’Esprit du Seigneur conduire. Nous ne savons pas ce qu’Il nous demandera de faire. Mais si nous pouvons rester simplement en prière; ne mangez pas trop, mangez le moins possible, et priez. Passez un coup de fil, invitez quelqu’un à venir, participez à chaque réunion à laquelle vous pouvez assister. Et je suis sûr qu’avec tout cet effort, Dieu nous rencontrera bien avant la fin de notre campagne. Je le crois.
Maintenant, juste avant que nous lisions Sa Parole... Nous croyons que ceci est la Parole de Dieu. Nous croyons que ceci est la véritable Parole de Dieu. Tout ce qui s’y trouve est la Parole de Dieu. Croyez-vous cela, toute l’église? C’est bien.
| E-9 Sometimes on the first night, we don't pray for the sick. We just... We never have any set, cut and dried program; we just let the Holy Spirit lead. And I think that's what the people want--is just let the Spirit of the Lord lead. We don't know what He will have us to do. But if we'll just keep ourselves prayed up, don't overeat--eat least that you can, and pray. Call on the phone; get somebody to come; attend every meeting you possibly can. And I'm sure that with all that effort, God will meet us more then halfway on the ground. I believe that.
Now, just before we read His Word... We believe this to be the Word of God. We believe this to be the true Word of God. Everything that's in here is God's Word. Do you believe that, the whole church? That's good.

E-10 Il y a quelques semaines, un épicier qui habite sur la même avenue que moi... Et c’est un croyant catholique très fervent. Et il m’a dit, il a dit: «Frère Branham, je me suis souvent demandé pourquoi vous n’êtes pas catholique.»
Et j’ai dit: «Je suis catholique.»
«Oh! a-t-il dit, je–je ne comprends pas.»
J’ai dit: «Si, je suis catholique.»
Et il a dit: «Je–je ne vous ai jamais vu à notre église, et vous avez une église par ici.» Et il a dit: «Je–je–je ne saisis tout simplement pas cela.»
J’ai dit: «Bien, j’aimerais vous poser une question: est-il vrai que l’Eglise catholique croit que cette Bible est l’histoire de l’Eglise catholique primitive, que c’est Jésus-Christ qui a établi l’Eglise catholique; que Pierre en était le premier pape, et que les actes des apôtres sont les actes de l’Eglise catholique primitive?»
Il a dit: «C’est l’exacte vérité.» (Bien sûr, beaucoup de membres de ma famille sont catholiques. Je suis Irlandais et je connais pratiquement leur–leur doctrine.) Alors, il a dit: «C’est la vérité.»
| E-10 Just a few weeks ago, there was a grocery man lives out the lane from where I live. And he's a very staunch believer, a Catholic. And he said to me; he said, "Brother Branham, I've often wondered why you wasn't a Catholic."
And I said, "I am a Catholic."
"Oh," he said, "I--I don't understand."
I said, "Yes, I am a Catholic."
And he said, "I--I never see you at our church, and you've got a church down here." And said, "I--I--I just don't get that."
I said, "Well, I want to ask you: Is it true that the Catholic church believes that this Bible is a history of the early Catholic church, that Jesus Christ established the Catholic church; Peter was the first pope; and that the acts of the apostles is the acts of the early Catholic church?"
He said, "That's exactly truth." ('Course, many of my people are Catholic. I'm Irish and kindy know their--their doctrine.) So, he said, "That's truth."

E-11 J’ai dit: «Bien, et puis la raison pour laquelle vous ne vous conformez pas à cette Bible aujourd’hui, c’est parce que–que le pape a... l’église... Le pape a le droit de changer tout ce qu’il veut dans les Ecritures, parce qu’il a reçu le droit de le faire. Et ça, c’est juste l’histoire de la première église.»
Il a dit: «Oui, Oui.»
J’ai dit: «Eh bien, je... Vous voyez?» J’ai dit: «Je crois que je suis plus catholique que vous.» J’ai dit: «Parce que vous êtes un de ces catholiques modernes–modernes, ceux qui acceptent la doctrine de l’Eglise catholique d’aujourd’hui. Mais moi, je suis un catholique à l’ancienne mode, celui qui croit ce que l’Eglise catholique à l’ancienne mode avait écrit et pratiqué.» J’ai dit: «Bien sûr, eux devaient en savoir plus; ils avaient marché avec le Seigneur Jésus. Et Pierre (le premier pape) a dit: «Il n’y a pas d’autre médiateur entre Dieu et l’homme, en dehors de Jésus-Christ Homme.» Et j’ai dit: «Je–je crois plutôt cela.» Et j’ai dit: «Je–j’enseigne très exactement comme l’Eglise catholique primitive, exactement ce qu’ils ont écrit dans la Bible et ce qu’ils ont pratiqué.»
Il a dit: «Je crois que vous avez quelque chose, fiston.»
| E-11 I said, "Well, and then the reason you don't live by this Bible now, because that--that the pope has a--the church... The Pope has a right to change anything in the Scripture that he wants to, because he was given the right to do that. And this is just the history of the first church."
He said, "Yes, sir."
I said, "Well, I... See?" I said, "I believe I'm more of a Catholic than you are." I said, "Because you're one of these new--new day Catholics: the one that takes the doctrine of the Catholic church today. And I'm an old fashion Catholic, that believes what the old fashion Catholic wrote and done." I said, "Surely, they ought to know more about it; they walked with the Lord Jesus. And Peter (the first pope) said, 'There's no other mediator between God and man, but the Man Christ Jesus.'" And I said, "I--I just kindy believe that." And I said, "I--I teach just exactly like the early Catholic church did--just what they wrote in the Bible and what they done."
He said, "I believe you got something, son."

E-12 C’est donc juste. Oh! J’aime la Parole de Dieu. C’est certainement pour nous une nourriture, en étudiant cela ensemble et en La lisant. Je ne suis pas un théologien, je suis... je n’ai pas d’instruction pour être un théologien, et je ne cherche pas à le devenir. J’aime le Seigneur Jésus, et j’essaie tout simplement de marcher tel qu’Il veut que je marche, et de dire ce qu’Il me demande de dire, et de prier pour les malades. Et Il m’a béni jusqu’à présent, et je crois qu’Il nous bénira ce soir.
Maintenant, avant d’ouvrir Sa précieuse Parole, inclinons la tête juste un instant pendant que nous parlons à l’Auteur.
| E-12 So that's right. Oh, I just love God's Word. It's certainly food to us to study it together and read it. I'm not a theologian; I'm--have not the education to be a theologian, and I don't try to be. I just love the Lord Jesus, and just try to walk the way He would have me to walk, and say what He has me to say, and pray for the sick people. And He's blessed me so far, and I believe He will bless us tonight.
Now, before we open His precious Word, let's bow our heads just a moment while we speak to the Author.

E-13 Notre Bienveillant Père céleste, nous venons à Toi aussi humblement que possible. Nous nous approchons de Toi au Nom de Ton Bien-aimé Fils, le Seigneur Jésus, sachant qu’Il a dit: «Tout ce que vous demanderez en Mon Nom, Je le ferai.» Nous savons donc que nous avons le droit de nous approcher de Toi et de venir en Son Nom, par le canal de la croix, implorer la miséricorde et le pardon de nos péchés, et la guérison de nos corps malades, et implorer la grâce de Ta Présence, Seigneur, pendant cette série de réunions, afin que Tu continues à être avec nous soirée après soirée. Et puissent son début et ce réveil être le début d’un réveil à l’ancienne mode qui éclatera dans cette vallée, dans chaque église, et parmi tout le peuple, au point que les gens viendront de partout par-delà ces montagnes, pour apprendre quelque chose du Seigneur. Accorde-le, Seigneur.
Bénis nos frères ministres, Tes disciples que Tu as oints, ceux qui ont assuré la continuité de l’oeuvre ici, apportant les vérités de l’Evangile et prêchant cela sans chercher la faveur des hommes, mais prenant position pour la Vérité. Et combien Tu les as bénis! Nous prions que cette série de réunions leur serve de marchepied, Seigneur, que cela les inspire dans leurs réunions, dans leurs églises, et que cela inspire leurs fidèles.
| E-13 Our gracious heavenly Father, we come to Thee just as humble as we know how. We come approaching Thee in the Name of Thy loving Son, the Lord Jesus, knowing this, that He said, "Ask the Father anything in My Name, I'll do it." Then we know that we have a right to approach You and come by the way of His Name, coming by the cross, asking mercy and forgiveness of sin and healing for our sick bodies, and for the grace of Thy Presence, Lord, in this meeting to just continue to be with us night after night. And may this beginning and this revival be just a beginning of an old fashion revival that'll break out through this valley, and every church, and amongst all the people; that people will come from over these mountains everywhere to learn of the Lord. Grant it, Lord.
Bless our ministering brethren, these anointed disciples of Yours, that's held forth the fort here, bringing out the truths of the Gospel and preaching that without favor of men and standing for truth. And how that You have blessed them. We pray that this meeting will be a stepping stone to them, Lord, that it will inspire them in their meeting, and in their churches, and their people.

E-14 Et lorsque les services prendront fin, qu’il n’y ait personne parmi nous qui n’ait pas reçu Ton Esprit. Qu’il n’y ait aucune personne faible marchant au milieu de nous, mais que le Saint-Esprit guérisse chacun. Accorde-le, Seigneur. Rappelle à la communion ceux qui se sont égarés, ô Dieu notre Père.
Et lorsque nous partirons ce soir pour retourner à nos demeures respectives, afin de commencer demain un nouveau jour, puissions-nous dire comme ceux qui revenaient d’Emmaüs: «Nos coeurs ne brûlaient-ils pas au-dedans de nous, lorsqu’Il nous parlait en chemin?» Nous savons qu’Il avait fait quelque chose devant eux, exactement comme Il l’avait fait avant Sa crucifixion. Jamais aucun autre homme n’avait fait cela de cette façon. Et lorsqu’Il les a eus à l’intérieur et qu’Il a fermé la porte, alors Il a fait cette chose qu’Il avait faite devant eux, et ils ont immédiatement reconnu que c’était Lui.
| E-14 And when the services is over, may there not be one among us but what has received Thy Spirit. May there not be one feeble person walking among us, but may the Holy Spirit heal every one. Grant it, Lord. Call back to fellowship those who have strayed away, Father God.
And when we leave tonight to go to our separate homes to begin a new day tomorrow, may we say like those who came from Emmaus, "Did not our hearts burn within us, as He talked to us along the way?" We know that He did something before them, just like He did it before His crucifixion. No other man ever did it like that. And when He got them on the inside and He closed the door, then He did this thing that He did before, and they recognized quickly that it was Him.

Cela se trouve dans Hébreux 13.8: «Jésus-Christ est le même hier, aujourd’hui et éternellement.» Et maintenant, nous prenons ce petit passage de l’Ecriture bien connu de plusieurs d’entre vous: Messieurs, nous voudrions voir Jésus.

Now, our theme is this... been our--my theme since I was here before, or in Oregon: "Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today, and forever. That's found in Hebrews 13:8:. Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today, and forever." And now, on this familiar (to many of you people) this little Scripture: "Sirs, We Would See Jesus."

E-17 Ce Grec a posé cette question. Il est venu voir Philippe, voir un ministre, et il a demandé de voir le Seigneur Jésus, et un ministre du Seigneur Jésus lui a accordé le privilège de voir le Seigneur Jésus. Et si donc Jésus est le même hier, aujourd’hui et éternellement, pourquoi ne pouvons-nous pas alors, nous les ministres, amener aux gens, ou plutôt amener les gens auprès du Seigneur Jésus, exactement comme Philippe avait amené ces Grecs auprès du Seigneur Jésus? Car Il est le même hier, aujourd’hui et éternellement. Alors, c’est–c’est raisonnable... Et c’est–c’est scripturaire, et c’est tout aussi logique qu’en ce temps-là, s’Il est le même hier, aujourd’hui et éternellement.
Or, je crois que les Ecritures ne peuvent rien dire de faux. Il y a dans les Ecritures bien des choses pour lesquelles j’aurais souhaité avoir assez de foi pour les manifester aux gens. Mais je ne ferai jamais obstacle à quelqu’un qui pourrait le faire. Si je ne peux pas faire une promenade avec le Seigneur comme Enoch l’a fait un après-midi, et être tellement rempli de joie que je monterais simplement à la maison avec Lui, je–je ne ferai pas obstacle à quelqu’un qui aurait autant de foi, qui pourrait tout simplement monter à la Maison avec Lui sans mourir ni goûter à la mort dans ce monde.
| E-17 This Greek asked this question. He came to Philip--to a minister--and asked to see the Lord Jesus, and was granted the privilege of seeing the Lord Jesus by a minister of the Lord Jesus. And then, if Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever, why can't we ministers then bring to the people, or the people to the Lord Jesus just as Philip brought these Greeks to the Lord Jesus? For He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Now, it's--it's a sensible... And it's--it's Scriptural, and it's just as logical as it was in that day, if He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Now, I believe that the Scriptures cannot tell anything that's wrong. There's many things in the Scriptures that I only wish I was able with faith enough to make them real to the people. But I'd never stand in the way of anybody that could do it. If I couldn't take a walk like Enoch one afternoon with the Lord, and just get so overjoyed till I'd just walk up home with Him, I--I would not stand in anybody's way that did have that much faith, that could just walk up home with Him without dying or tasting death in this world.

E-18 Et nous essayons aujourd’hui... alors que nous voyons approcher le temps de la fin, il devrait y avoir une apparition au temps de la fin du Seigneur Jésus comme Il l’avait prédit dans les Ecritures. Parce que tout ce qu’Il a dit doit s’accomplir.

Or, moi, je peux vous promettre quelque chose, et au mieux de mes possibilités, je pourrais dire: «Je suis très sérieux là-dessus.» Et ensuite, je pourrais ne pas être en mesure de réaliser ce que j’avais promis, parce que les circonstances pourraient tout changer. Mais il n’en est pas ainsi de Dieu; Il ne peut pas faire une promesse qu’Il ne peut accomplir.
Moïse pensait la même chose, ou plutôt Abraham. «Il ne douta point, par incrédulité, au sujet de la promesse de Dieu; mais il fut fortifié, donnant gloire à Dieu, car il avait la pleine conviction que ce que Dieu promet, Il peut l’accomplir.» Par conséquent, toutes les Ecritures que Dieu nous a données sont des promesses.
| E-18 And we are trying today, as we see the end time approaching, there should be end time appearings of the Lord Jesus that He predicted in the Scripture. Because whatever He said, it must come to pass.
Now, we ourselves are finite; we can make many mistakes, and I make more than all, because we are finite. But He is infinite, and He cannot make a mistake. Now, I can promise you something, and with the very best of my ability, I can say, "I really mean that." And then, might not be able to fulfill what I promised, because circumstances would alter cases. But not so with God; He cannot make a promise that He cannot fulfill.
Moses thought the same thing (or Abraham, rather): "Staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strong, giving praise to God; for he was fully persuaded that what God had promised, God was able to perform." Therefore, all the Scriptures that God has given to us are promises.

E-19 Or, nous nous sommes impliqués là-dedans avec l’élément humain lié au facteur temps. Rien d’autre, personne d’autre, aucun autre être, personne d’autre ne pourra faire cela, excepté Dieu et Dieu seul.
Or, quelquefois nous nous demandons pourquoi nous... Il est tellement grand, et cependant nous ne Le voyons pas de manière plus frappante.
| E-19 Now, we get ourselves worked in with the human element of the time element. And the only thing we know is inches, feet, yards, miles, measurement, days, weeks, hours, months, years. But God's eternal; He's--He's... We have the limited powers and limited intelligence, but God is infinite in all things. He knows all things, knew all things before the world begin. He knew this meeting would be here tonight. He knowed all things before there was a world, 'cause He could tell what would be in the end time from the beginning--makes Him God. Nothing else, no one else, no other being, no other person could ever do that, but God alone.
Now, we sometimes wonder why we--He's so great, and yet why we don't see Him more then what we do.

«Alors, s’Il était mort et qu’au travers de Son saint Sang glorieux qu’Il a versé au Calvaire...» Lequel Sang n’était ni juif ni gentil; c’était le Sang de Dieu. Le sang vient du sexe mâle. Et dans ce cas, le Mâle c’était Dieu qui avait créé la cellule de Sang dans le sein de la vierge et cela a donné naissance au Fils de Dieu, dans Lequel Dieu a déployé Sa tente et a tabernaclé avec les êtres humains: Emmanuel.
| E-20 Now, if I would go down in the city tonight to each denomination of church, and I'd say, "Are... Do you believe that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever?" to their lovely pastor.
He'd say, "I certainly do."
I'd say, "That's very fine." Well then, I'd say, "Do you believe that He is still the same Saviour that He was?"
He'd say, "Most certainly I believe that."
"Do you believe that He lives today as He did then, only in the form of the Person of the Holy Spirit?"
"Certainly I believe that."
"Then if He died and through His great, holy Blood that He gave at Calvary..." Which was not Jewish or neither was it Gentile; it was the Blood of God. The blood comes from the male sex. And in this case the Male was God created a Blood cell in the womb of the virgin that brought forth the Son of God, in which God spread forth His tent and tabernacled with human beings--Emmanuel.

E-21 Alors, au travers de ce Sang, Il a sanctifié une Eglise afin qu’Il puisse continuer Son oeuvre, vivant Lui-même dans cette Eglise. C’est ça l’Evangile. Cela fait de Lui le même hier, aujourd’hui et éternellement. Nous sommes–sommes...
Nous sommes tout à fait indignes de toute bénédiction. Nous ne pouvions rien faire pour mériter cela. Mais, c’est par une grâce imméritée que Dieu nous a accordé ce privilège d’être appelés Ses enfants, Ses fils et Ses filles, nous sanctifiant lorsque nous confessons nos péchés, ôtant le monde de nous par la sanctification, afin qu’Il fraye une voie au travers de nous par le Saint-Esprit, pour accomplir Sa volonté et Son oeuvre.
| E-21 Now, through that Blood, He sanctified a Church that He might continue His work, Himself living in that Church. That's the Gospel. That makes Him the same yesterday, today, and forever. We are--are...
We are absolutely unworthy of any blessing. There's nothing that we could do to merit that. But by unmerited grace, God gave us this privilege to be called His children, His sons and His daughters, sanctifying us as we confess our sin, sanctifying the world from us, that He might work His way through us by the Holy Spirit to do and will His work.

E-22 Or, lorsque je–lorsqu’Il se trouvait sur terre, Il a dit: «Vous ferez aussi les oeuvres que Je fais; et vous en ferez de plus grandes ...» La vraie in-... traduction–traduction là, c’est «davantage.» Personne ne pourrait faire quelque chose de plus grand, mais Lui se manifesterait à plusieurs endroits. En ce temps-là Dieu se manifestait dans un seul Homme, aujourd’hui Il est manifesté dans toute l’Eglise universelle, partout. Dieu peut agir à travers chaque homme et chaque femme qui ouvrira son coeur et laissera le Seigneur Jésus y entrer et accomplir Sa volonté à travers eux.
Peu importe si vous ne connaissez même pas votre abc; la seule chose que vous devez avoir, c’est un coeur humble et soumis à Dieu, et Dieu accomplira Sa volonté à travers vous. C’est juste.
| E-22 Now, He said when I... when He was on earth, "The works that I do shall you also; and greater than this..." The right in... translation--translation there is "more." No one could do any greater, but He'd be in more places. Then God would manifest it in one Man, now He's manifested in the entire Church universal, everywhere. God can work through every man and every woman that'll open up their heart, and let the Lord Jesus come in, and work His will through them.
I don't care if you don't even know your ABC's; just the only thing you have to have is a humble, submitted heart to God, and God will work His will through you. That's right.

E-23 Vous n’êtes pas obligé d’avoir beaucoup de connaissances; vous ne devez connaître qu’une seule Personne: le Seigneur Jésus. Le connaître, c’est la Vie. C’est la seule Personne que vous devez connaître pour avoir la Vie Eternelle: Le connaître Lui, non pas connaître le Livre, non pas connaître les credos, mais Le connaître Lui, c’est la Vie Eternelle; Le connaître comme votre Sauveur personnel; Le connaître en tant que Celui qui vous a rempli de Sa bonté et de Sa miséricorde, qui a éloigné de vous le monde, qui vous en a libéré, qui l’a envoyé au loin comme le bouc émissaire de l’Ancien Testament, afin qu’il aille dans le désert pour y être tué et ne plus exister.
Et la chose même–même qui vous faisait pécher et vous faisait faire les choses que vous faisiez a été ôtée de vous par Son précieux Sang qui vous a sanctifié et vous a mis à part pour Son service, afin qu’Il accomplisse Sa volonté à travers vous, travailler à travers vous. C’est tout aussi simple... et de croire cela.
| E-23 You don't have to know a whole lot; you only have to know one Person: that's the Lord Jesus. To know Him is Life. That's the only Person you have to know to have Eternal Life: To know Him, not know the Book, not know the creeds, but know Him is Eternal Life, know Him as your personal Saviour, know Him as the One Who has filled you with His goodness and His mercy, that's sent the world away from you, discharged it, sent it away like the scapegoat in the Old Testament to go into the wilderness to be killed, to be no more.
And the very--the very thing that made you sin and do the things that you used to do has been drove from you by His precious Blood that sanctified you and set you aside for His service, that He might will His will through you, to work through you. It's just as simple... and to believe it.

E-24 Maintenant, nous aussi, nous voudrions serrer nos coudes avec ce ministre pour dire: «Nous croyons ces choses.»
Eh bien, je pourrais dire à telle personne: «Croyez-vous qu’Il est à tous points de vue le même, sauf en ce qui concerne le corps physique, le corps de chair?»
Il dirait: «Eh bien, je–je ne crois pas qu’Il accomplit encore des miracles.»
Alors Il n’est pas le même. Il doit être le même. Il est tout autant un Sauveur aujourd’hui qu’Il l’était en ce temps-là. Il est tout autant un Guérisseur aujourd’hui qu’Il l’était en ce temps-là. Car le prophète a dit: «Il était blessé pour nos péchés; c’est par Ses meurtrissures que nous avons été guéris», vous voyez, au temps passé.
Je ne crois pas que l’homme possède un quelconque pouvoir magique pour guérir les gens. Je crois que cette puissance réside dans l’individu pour lequel on prie; c’est sa foi en Christ qui produit la guérison. Or, le moyen initial et le plus facile de tous pour être guéri, c’est d’écouter l’Evangile être prêché et L’accepter. C’est le seul moyen pour que cela soit l’Evangile du salut, l’Evangile de la délivrance, le plein Evangile–plein Evangile pour l’homme accompli, pour le fils accompli, pour la fille accomplie. L’Evangile tout entier, tout ce qu’Il a dit, tout ce qu’Il a fait, tout ce qu’Il a promis, c’est pour toute personne qui croira Cela. «Que celui qui veut vienne.» Méthodiste, baptiste, pentecôtiste, pr...
| E-24 Now, we too would join hands with that minister, saying, "We believe these things."
Now, I might say to this certain person, "Do you believe that He is in every way the same except the carnal--corporal body?"
He'd say, "Well, I--I don't believe that He still performs miracles."
Then He isn't the same. He's got to be the same. He's just as much Saviour today as He was then. He's just as much Healer today as He was then. For the prophet said, "He was wounded for our transgressions; with His stripes we were healed," (See?), past tense.
I do not believe that man has any magic power to heal people. I believe that the power lays within the individual that's being prayed for; it's their faith in Christ that does the healing. Now, the initial and most gracious way of any way to be healed is to hear the Gospel preached and accept it. That's the only way to be the Gospel of salvation, the Gospel of deliverance, the full Gospel--full Gospel for the full man, for the full son, for the full daughter. All of the Gospel, all that He said, all that He done, all that He promised is to every person that will believe it. "Whosoever will, let him come." Methodists, Baptist, Pentecostal, Pr...

Tout celui qui aimerait recevoir la Pentecôte peut venir la recevoir. C’est une expérience, et vous ne pourrez pas faire d’une expérience une organisation. C’est un–c’est un... quelque chose que Dieu a fait pour l’homme. Voyez? Et Il le fera pour tout le monde, peu importe l’église dont vous êtes membre.
Maintenant, dans la... Maintenant, nous avons bien sûr la communion fraternelle avec des organisations; ce qui est très bien. En effet, ces frères se mettent ensemble et–et forment leur organisation, ce qui est parfaitement en ordre. Assurément. Mais j’aimerais dire que nous... Ne dites pas: «Vous devez venir dans l’Eglise pentecôtiste avant de recevoir l’expérience.» Vous pouvez la faire dans les champs missionnaires si vous le désirez, là-haut dans les bois, là-bas au coin de la rue. Où que cela soit, dans n’importe quelle église que vous fréquentez, si vous avez toujours faim et soif de Christ, Christ est ici pour vous combler de la plénitude de Sa puissance, de Son Esprit. C’est juste. Peu importe où vous vous trouvez ou plutôt l’église que vous fréquentez, c’est pour vous.
| E-25 Well, Pentecost... I've never... I've been... I was a Baptist minister, you know. I'm just as much Baptist as I ever was. Pentecost is not a denomination; Pentecost is an experience. It's an experience that Methodist, Baptist, Catholic... Anybody that wants to receive It is welcome to come and receive It. It's an experience, and you cannot organize an experience. It's a--it's a--something that God has done to the human being. See? And He will do it to any one, no matter what church you belong to.
Now, in the... Now, of course, we have fellowships and organizations; that's exactly fine. 'Cause those brethren congregate together and--and make their organization, which is just exactly right. Sure. But I mean, we... You can't say, "You have to come to the Pentecostal church before you get the experience." You can get it out in the field if you want it, up there in the woods, down on the street corner. Wherever it is, whatever church you're in, if you're still hungering and thirsting for Christ, Christ is here to fill you with the Fulness of His power of His Spirit. That's right. No matter where you are or what you church you belong to, it's for you.

E-26 Eh bien, s’Il est le même, Il n’est pas le même juste à moitié ou à deux tiers; Il est le même hier, aujourd’hui et éternellement. Or, Sa Parole dit: «Encore un peu de temps, et le monde (dont le mot grec cosmos signifie là l’ordre du monde) ne Me verra plus. Mais vous (l’Eglise), vous Me verrez; car Je (et Je est un pronom personnel), Je serai avec vous, même en vous jusqu’à la fin du monde. Je serai avec vous; même en vous jusqu’à la fin du monde.»
Voyez-vous ce que signifiaient Sa mort, Son ensevelissement et Sa résurrection? C’était pour purifier et sanctifier une Eglise, la mettre à part et la remplir de Sa puissance afin de continuer les mêmes oeuvres qu’Il a faites, faisant de Lui le même hier, aujourd’hui et éternellement, pour continuer perpétuellement.
| E-26 Now, if He is the same, He's not just halfway the same or two-thirds the way the same; He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Now, His Word said, "A little while and the world (which the Greek word there 'kosmos' which means 'the world order,') will see Me no more. Yet ye shall see Me (the church); for I (And 'I' is a personal pronoun.), I will be with you, even in you to the end of the world. I will be with you, even in you to the end of the world."
See what His death, burial, and resurrection was? Was to clean and sanctify a Church, set it aside, and fill it with His power to continue the same works that He did, making Him the same yesterday, today, and forever to continue on and on.

E-27 Maintenant, le seul moyen par lequel nous pourrons tirer de ce texte la chose que nous aimerions dire, c’est de découvrir ce qu’Il était hier. Alors, c’est ce qu’Il sera aujourd’hui, et ce qu’Il sera éternellement. Quel genre de personne était-Il?

Et le jour de la Venue du Seigneur approche de plus en plus tout le temps. Et on n’y peut rien, parce que Dieu a dit qu’il en sera exactement ainsi. Moi, je peux crier contre le mal; c’est notre devoir de le faire. Vous et moi sommes censés condamner le mal, le péché. Nous n’arriverons jamais à vaincre cela et à arrêter cela. C’est juste ceux qui ont une oreille pour entendre qui entendront cela. Quiconque... «Tous ceux que le Père M’a donnés viendront à Moi. Mes brebis écoutent Ma voix.»
| E-27 Now, the only way that we'll ever be able to draw from this text the thing that we want to say, is to find out what He was yesterday. Then that will be what He will be today, and what He will be forever. What type of a Person was He?
As we see the day approaching, it makes me just shiver to look out upon the streets as I pass trough the cities and see and read the newspapers, and hear the broadcasts and so forth of sin abounding. And the day of drawing nearer and nearer all the time of the coming of the Lord. But you can't do nothing about it, because God said it would be just that way. I can speak a voice against wrong; it's our duties to do that. You and I are supposed to speak against the wrong, the evil. We'll never be able to conquer it and stop it. | E-28 Now, then as we see this day appearing and see God sending great revivals across the country: you Baptists, a Billy Graham; you Methodists, a Jack Schuller; you Pentecostals, an Oral Roberts. Why, what God has done: Great signs, wonders, and miracles has taken place throughout the nations everywhere and continually the nation wades on into sin. Do you believe that to be the truth? Why, it's right before our eyes. There's no way of... Continually getting worse all the time.
It reminds me of a little story, a little thing that happened rather in Louisville, Kentucky, about six months ago. There was a lady that had her little baby, and she was in a--one of those five and ten cent stores in Louisville. And they begin to notice the little sister.

| E-29 She was--picked up little gadgets, you know, and say, "Look, honey; look, honey." Then she'd get nervous and run to another counter and say, "Look, honey; look, honey." And the little baby would just set staring, staring.
Then she'd go to another counter, and another counter, getting more nervous all the time. Finally, she picked up a little jingle outfit. And she shook it, and she said, "Look, darling, at this." Anything that ought to attract a little boy's attention like that. But he just set and looked, stared in space. And she fell down at the counter and begin to scream. She said, "Oh, no. It just can't be."

E-30 Et les gens qui étaient dans le magasin sont allés vers elle pour savoir ce qui n’allait pas. Et le médecin a dit qu’il pensait que l’enfant irait mieux, mais il ne va pas mieux.» Et elle a dit: «J’ai fait tout ce que je pouvais afin d’attirer son attention avec ces petits gadgets, qui devraient attirer l’attention d’un petit garçon de son âge.» Et elle a dit: «Ce petit jouet, ce petit chariot, ce... cela porte des clochettes, et normalement un petit garçon à l’approche de noël comme ceci devrait écouter [le tintement] de cette clochette pendant qu’il neige et ainsi de suite.» Et elle a dit: «Mais il reste simplement là, regardant dans le vide.» Elle a dit: «Il ne va pas mieux.» Et le coeur de cette petite mère pleurait pour son enfant, parce qu’elle était certaine que mentalement quelque chose n’allait pas chez son bébé.
Je pense que c’est vraiment ce qui se passe dans l’église aujourd’hui. Dieu a agité toutes sortes de dons et autres qu’Il pouvait agiter devant l’église. Et elle reste simplement là, regardant dans le vide. «Eh bien, c’était une très belle réunion. Frère Roberts a eu une belle réunion.» «Frère Billy Graham prêche très bien.» Mais les gens ne bougent pas. Ce dont nous avons besoin aujourd’hui, c’est d’un réveil qui secoue l’âme, quelque chose qui descend au fond pour provoquer des réunions de prière qui durent toute la nuit, où les hommes et les femmes se mettent en ordre avec Dieu, et les villes se tournent vers Dieu. De glorieux signes et miracles se multiplieront sans arrêt.
| E-30 And the people that was in the store, they went to her to find out what was wrong. And she said, "My little boy, about a year ago, set in to just staring in space." And said, "I have done everything. I've had him to the doctor. And the doctor said he thought he was better, but he isn't." And said, "I've just done everything I can to attract his attention with little gadgets, that ought to attract a little boy's attention of his age." And said, "This little thing, little horse cart, that... It's got little jingle bells on it, like a little boy near Christmas time like this ought to be listening to this little bells in the snow and so forth." And said, "And he just sets and stares in space." Said, "He's no better." And her little mother heart screamed out for her baby, because she knew there was something mentally wrong with her baby.
I think that's a great deal with the church today. God has shook every kind of a gift and things that He could before the church. And it just sets and stares in space. "Well, that was a very nice meeting. Brother Roberts had a fine meeting." "Brother Billy Graham has great speaking." But they don't move. What we need today is a soul stirring revival, something that would go down to cause all night prayer meetings, men and women getting right with God, and cities turning to God. Great signs and wonders would just keep accumulating.

E-31 Dieu envoie Ses dons, Il les agite devant nos yeux. Et si nous les rejetons, alors qu’est-ce que Dieu peut faire à ce propos? Si cette mère a pensé cela de son petit garçon, que pense Dieu de Son Eglise ce soir? Alors que nous avons devant nous tant de grands hommes dans le pays: Tommy Osborn et frère Allen. Oh! bien des grands hommes ont parcouru cette nation d’un lieu à un autre, toutes sortes de miracles et de prodiges se sont produits juste au temps de la fin. Et pourtant, l’église reste là, étourdie, disant: «C’était très bien. Je–je crois que je peux aller à une autre soirée, voir ce qui va arriver à la prochaine réunion.»
Ce n’est pas ce qu’il faut faire. Ce dont nous avons besoin, lorsque nous voyons Dieu se mouvoir au milieu de nous, c’est de passer à l’action, prier et implorer Dieu, et faire tout notre possible. Que l’Evangile dans ces derniers jours attire notre attention. La Bible a promis que cet Evangile deviendrait ainsi chaque jour.
| E-31 God sends His gifts; He shakes them before our eyes. And if we turn them down, then what can God do about it? If that mother thought that about her baby, what does God think tonight about His church when we've had so much before us--great men in the land: Tommy Osborn, and Brother Allen. Oh, how many great men has crossed the nation from place to place; all kinds of signs and wonders has showed up right at the end time. And yet, the church sets dazed, say, "It was pretty good. I--I believe I may go to another night, see what will take place at the next meeting."
That's not the thing to do. What we need when we see God moving in our midst is to get down to business with it, pray and cry out and do all that we know how to do. Let the Gospel in this last days attract our attention. The Bible promised that this Gospel would just become so each day...

Then when they'd settled down to a church and that was all there was to it, God raised up Pentecost. And now, it's got to the place that Pentecost is becoming formal and indifferent. The children of Israel followed a Pillar of Fire. And every time that Fire stopped, they stopped with It. And if they didn't move, they was left in the wilderness. They had to move where the Fire moved. That's the way God's Church always does; it moves with the Fire.

E-33 Lorsque Martin Luther vit le Feu lors de la première réforme, il est sorti de l’Eglise catholique, et il a érigé sa dénomination sous le Feu. Et qu’est-ce que le péché? L’incrédulité. «Celui qui ne croit pas est déjà condamné.» Il n’existe que deux péchés, et l’un... deux choses au monde: l’une c’est la foi, et l’autre c’est l’incrédulité. Commettre adultère, fumer, boire, ce n’est pas ça le péché. Ce sont les attributs du péché. Vous faites cela parce que vous n’êtes pas un croyant. Un croyant ne fait pas ces choses. Ou vous croyez, ou vous ne croyez pas.
| E-33 When Martin Luther saw the Fire in the first reformation, he come out of the Catholic church, and he built his denomination under It. The Fire moved into sanctification, he was already organized under that and couldn't do it, go any farther. Methodist took it; they organized under that; and they couldn't go no farther. Pentecost come and took it from them. Now, if we don't watch, the Fire will move right on again. Let's stay under the Fire, worship right under the Fire, worship in the power and the Spirit, believing God's Word, laying aside every weight and every sin that doth so easily beset us.
And what is sin? Unbelief. "He that believeth not is condemned already." There's just two sins, and one--two things in the world: One is faith, and the other one is unbelief. Committing adultery, smoking, drinking, that's not sin. That's the attributes of sin. You do that because you're not a believer. A believer doesn't do those things. You either believe or do not believe.

E-34 Généralement il y a partout trois catégories de gens qui assistent aux réunions, et ce sont: les incroyants, les soi-disant croyants et les véritables croyants. Et partout, la foule toujours est ainsi constituée. Et maintenant, ce qu’il nous faut, c’est être de véritables croyants, plonger notre coeur dans cette Parole, et laisser la Parole être la... Parole de Dieu être la décision finale pour chacun de nous.
Vous me le devez, en tant que ministre, vous me le devez. Si jamais, lors d’une réunion, vous remarquez quelque chose qui ne s’accorde pas tout à fait avec les Ecritures, vous avez alors le devoir de venir me le dire. C’est juste, vous avez ce devoir-là. Je crois que Dieu fait des choses qui ne sont pas écrites dans la Bible. Je le crois. Dieu est Dieu; Il est capable de faire ce qu’Il veut. Mais aussi longtemps que je suis certain que cela se trouve juste là sous cette couverture, et que je suis certain que Dieu a fait une promesse, je me sens rassuré avec cela. Aussi longtemps que je peux avoir cela, je serai convaincu que tout ce que... toute autre chose que nous... d’autre. Rien d’autre ne me satisfera comme cela, tant que je m’en tiens juste à cela.
| E-34 There's three classes of people usually attends the meetings anywhere, and that's unbelievers, make believers, and real believers. And they're always that crowd everywhere. And now what we want to do is be real believers, throw our heart into this Word, and let the Word be the--Word of God be the final decision of everyone of us.
You owe it to me; you owe it to me as a minister. If you ever see anything that's going on in a meeting that's not exactly with the Scripture, then you owe it to me to come tell me. That's right, you do. I believe that God does things that's not wrote in the Bible. I believe that. God's God; He can do what He wishes to. But as long I know it's staying right in that cover there, and know that God made a promise, I feel assured with that. As long as I can have that, I'll be satisfied with whatever... anything else we... Nothing else will satisfy me like that, as long as I can stay right with that.

| E-36 Now, Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and forever. Let's turn back to the first chapter of Saint John and find out... If you read a book, and it said, "Mary and John lived happy ever after." Who is Mary and John? You'll never know till you go back to the first of the book and read the book through. And if the Bible says that, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever," the only way we'll ever know what He was, what He should be today, we'll have to go back to see what He was yesterday. Is that right?
Now, let's find out. We get Saint John 1. We'll just quote some Scriptures; I want you to read it. I'm going to go over a few chapters in it tonight, tomorrow night, pick up some more and so forth as we go along the way the Holy Spirit will lead. Well, let's find out what He was yesterday. Then if we can see exactly what He was yesterday, and see Him come into our midst, and do the same thing today, every sick person in here ought to get up and thank God and walk out. Say, "It's all over."

Car là, «Il était blessé pour nos péchés, brisé pour nos iniquités, le châtiment qui nous donne la paix est tombé sur Lui; et c’est par Ses meurtrissures que nous avons été guéris.» Croyez-vous cela? Eh bien, nous y voilà.
| E-37 Now remember, before we get to it, Divine healing is not some magic words that someone says over you. Divine healing... Every sick person in here is already healed in the sight of God. He was wounded for our transgression.
You say, "Brother Branham, what do you mean by that?"
All right, sometime I'll say, "How many were saved twenty years ago?" A lot of hands would go up. "How many was saved two years ago?" Lots of hands would go up.
Well, I different with you. You were saved nineteen hundred years ago when Jesus died for you at Calvary. You just accepted it twenty years ago and two years ago. See? That's your salvation. The plan's finished. Jesus said at the cross, "It's finished." The whole plan of man's redemption was finished, and every blessing that he needed in life's journey was completed at the cross. For there "He was wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquity. The chastisement of our peace was upon Him; with His stripes we were healed." You believe that? Now, there we are.

E-38 Maintenant, nous allons donc faire un recul dans le passé pour comprendre ce qu’Il était. Eh bien, nous voyons dans Jean, chapitre 1, qu’il y avait un homme appelé André. Alors il l’a amené dans la Présence du Seigneur Jésus. C’était au début de son ministère... Jean, chapitre 1. Il l’a amené auprès du Seigneur Jésus, et aussitôt que Jésus l’a regardé, Il a dit: «Ton nom est Simon, et ton père... Tu es le fils de Jonas.» Est-ce juste? «Ton nom est Simon, et le nom de ton père c’est Jonas.» Ce pêcheur illettré, celui dont les Ecritures disent que: «Il était un homme du peuple sans instruction.» Savez-vous que la Bible dit que le premier pape, selon la doctrine de l’Eglise catholique, était un homme du peuple sans instruction? La Bible le dit. «Il était un homme du peuple sans instruction.» Jean 4. Et il... Je veux dire Actes, chapitre 4. (Excusez-moi.) Il était un homme du peuple sans instruction, mais les gens ont dû remarquer qu’il avait été avec Jésus.
| E-38 Now, we'll go back then to catch what He was. Now, we find out in Saint John the 1st chapter, there was a fellow named Andrew. We know about His birth, and--and about His preaching of the--going into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. And then after forty days, He came back out. And there was a man by the name of Andrew that went and got his brother, Peter, and brought Simon Peter. (Which his name was not that at that time. And his name was Simon, but not Peter. Peter means "a little stone".)
So he brought him into the Presence of the Lord Jesus. His ministry was young now--Saint John the 1st chapter. He brought him to the Lord Jesus, and as soon as Jesus looked at him, He said, "Your name is Simon, and your father... You're the son of Jonas." Is that right? "Your name is Simon, and your father's name is Jonas." This illiterate fisherman, who the Scripture says that "He was both ignorant and unlearned." Did you know the Bible said that the first pope, according to the doctrine of the Catholic church, was ignorant and unlearned? The Bible said it. "He was ignorant and unlearned." Saint John 4. And he... I mean Acts the 4th chapter. (I beg your pardon.) And he was both ignorant and unlearned, but they had to take notice he had been with Jesus.

E-39 Et aussitôt qu’Il a dit cela, il L’a vite reconnu comme étant le Fils de Dieu. Pourquoi? Pourquoi a-t-il reconnu cela? Parce que... S’il y a un Juif ici, il le sait; n’importe quel lecteur de la Bible le sait, que les Juifs attendaient la Venue du Messie. Est-ce juste?
Moïse a dit: «L’Eternel, votre Dieu suscitera un prophète comme moi.»
Est-ce juste? Et ils savaient que ce Messie serait un Dieu-Prophète qui manifesterait le signe d’un prophète comme Moïse, car c’était ce Prophète qu’ils attendaient. Et lorsqu’Il a dit à Simon: «Tu es Simon, et tu es fils de Jonas,» l’homme a vite reconnu que c’était là le Messie qu’ils attendaient.
| E-39 And as soon as He said that, quickly he recognized Him to be the Son of God. Why? Why did he recognize it? Because... If there's any Jewish people in here, you'll know it; any Bible reader will know it--that the Jews were looking for a Messiah to come. Is that right?
Moses said, "The Lord, your God shall raise up a prophet liken unto me."
Is that right? And they knowed this Messiah would be a God prophet that would give the sign of a prophet like Moses was, for that was the prophet they were looking for. And when He said to Simon, "Your name is Simon, and you are the son of Jonas," quickly he recognized that that was the Messiah that they were looking for.

E-40 Quelques jours après, nous voyons qu’il y a eu un homme du nom de Philippe. Il était tellement enthousiasmé; il était vraiment entré en contact avec Christ. Et sans l’ombre d’aucun doute, je crois qu’une fois qu’un homme entre en contact avec Christ, il ne peut plus jamais être le même aussi longtemps qu’il est en vie. Il y a quelque chose en Lui qui Le rend différent de tout autre homme ou de toute autre personne. Une fois que vous L’avez rencontré, et vous saurez que vous n’avez jamais rencontré un tel homme auparavant. Il n’est pas étonnant que les gens aient pu se tenir là et dire: «Eh bien, jamais un homme n’a parlé comme cet Homme.» Une fois que vous L’écoutez, ce murmure doux et léger dans–dans votre coeur, qui attira le prophète, ce n’était même pas le feu, ni les tonnerres, ni tout le reste qui l’avait attiré, mais plutôt ce murmure doux et léger. Il se voila la face et alla à l’entrée de la caverne. C’est cette seule rencontre avec Christ...
Puis, nous voyons... Remarquez, lorsque Philippe est entré en contact avec le Seigneur Jésus, il était préoccupé pour tous ses amis. Il y a quelque chose en Lui, qui fait que lorsque vous entrez en contact avec Lui, Il vous change, à tel point que vous voulez que quelqu’un d’autre puisse avoir cette merveilleuse communion. Il y a quelque chose là-dedans.
Oh! Cela attire votre coeur et le fait languir. Cela vous poussera à aller dans les régions glacées du Nord, vers les jungles tropicales du Sud, au milieu de toutes sortes d’adorations du diable et tout le reste, pour arracher une âme des mains de l’ennemi, une fois que vous avez trouvé ce précieux joyau, le Seigneur Jésus-Christ.
| E-40 We find out a few days after that, there was a fellow named Philip. And he was so enthused; he really got in contact with Christ. And I believe beyond any shadow of doubt, that when a man comes in contact with Christ once, he can never be the same no more as long as he ever lives. There's something about Him that's different from any other man or any other person. Once meet Him, and you'll know you've never met anyone like that before. No wonder they set back and said, "Why, never a man spake like this Man." You once here Him speak, that still small Voice in--in your heart, that attracted the prophet, not even the fire and thunder and everything else didn't attract him, but that still small Voice. He veiled his face and come to the end of the cave. It's that meeting Christ once...
Then we find... Notice, when Philip had got in contact with the Lord Jesus, he was concerned about all of his friends. There's something about Him, that whenever you get in contact with Him, He changes you so much till you want everybody else to have that wonderful fellowship. There's something about it. Oh, it attracts and makes your heart yearn. It'll drive you to the frozen regions of the north, and to the tropical jungles in the south, in the midst of all kinds of devil worship and everything else, to snatch a soul from the hands of the enemy, whenever you have once found that precious Jewel, the Lord Jesus Christ.

E-41 Sans tarder, comme il savait qu’il avait un ami qui était qui était membre de l’Eglise orthodoxe, il est parti le chercher. Eh bien, si vous allez en Palestine, vous verrez qu’il vous faut une bonne journée... environ 15 miles [24,13 km] pour contourner les montagnes et ainsi de suite... et parvenir là où Philippe était allé chercher Nathanaël. Et je peux m’imaginer...
Faisons un petit voyage et écoutons-le pendant une minute. Je peux le voir se rendre là chez Nathanaël et frapper à la porte, et–et la femme de Nathanaël se présente à la porte.
Il dit: «Eh bien, bonjour.» Il dit: «Où est frère Nathanaël?»
«Eh bien, Frère Philippe, nous sommes très heureux de te voir. Je crois qu’il est dans le verger; il était sorti pour voir ses oliviers.»
Il est allé dans le verger, et il a trouvé là derrière sous ce figuier un homme à genoux en prière. Naturellement, en gentleman chrétien, il s’est tenu tranquille jusqu’à ce que l’autre ait fini de prier. J’aimerais que vous remarquiez qu’il ne s’est jamais levé d’un bond pour lui serrer la main, et lui demander comment les affaires marchaient. Lorsqu’un homme rencontre Jésus, son coeur est en feu; il n’a de temps pour rien d’autre que pour Jésus. C’est ça. Il doit tout simplement en parler à quelqu’un.
| E-41 Quickly, he knowed he had a friend that was--belonged to the orthodox church, and he took out to find him. Now, if you'll go to Palestine, you'll find out it takes a good day--about fifteen miles to walk around the mountains and so forth--to get to where Philip went over to find Nathanael. And I can imagine...
Let's take a little journey and listen at him a minute. I can see him going up to Nathanael's door and knocking at the door, and--and his wife come to the door.
He says, "Well, how do you do?" Said, "Where is Brother Nathanael?"
"Well, Brother Philip, we're so glad to see you. Believe he's out in the orchard; he was out looking his olive grove over."
Out through the orchard he went, and he found under that fig tree back there, a man knelt down praying. Of course, him being a Christian gentleman, he stood still until he got through praying. I want you to notice, he never jumped up and shook his hand, and asked about how everything was going on. When a man meets Jesus, his heart's on fire; he's got no time for nothing else but Jesus. That's it. He's just got to tell somebody about it.

E-42 Observez. Sans tarder, il a dit: «Viens voir qui nous avons trouvé, Jésus de Nazareth, le Fils de Joseph.»
Non pas «Bonjour!» ou «Comment ça va? Est-ce que le–est-ce que les figuiers ont bien donné cette année?»
Non... pas du tout. Le message était urgent. Et si c’était urgent à l’époque, que dire d’aujourd’hui? Si c’était urgent à l’époque alors que nous avions encore deux mille ans pour que l’Evangile soit prêché et voici la fin des temps, à combien plus forte raison cela serait-il urgent aujourd’hui? Il y a trop d’affaires du monde, trop de fêtes, et trop d’autres choses à côté du véritable Message du Seigneur Jésus. Il est allé tout droit au but: «Viens voir ce que j’ai trouvé. Viens faire cette expérience du Précieux Saint-Esprit qui est entré dans ma vie, qui m’a changé, qui m’a converti de ce que j’étais en ce que je suis maintenant.» Oh! Combien nous sommes reconnaissants pour ceci!
| E-42 Watch quickly. He said, "Come, see Who we have found, Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of Joseph."
Not "How do you do?" or "How's everything getting along? Is the... Is the fig trees bearing good this year?"
Not--no, sir. The message was urgent. And if it was urgent then, what about now? If it was urgent then when we had two thousand years yet for the Gospel to be preached, and this is the end time. How much more is it urgent today? Too many social affairs, too many parties, too many other things besides the real Message of the Lord Jesus straight to the core, "Come, see what I found. Come, get this experience of the precious Holy Spirit that's come into my life, that's changed me, that converted me from what I was to what I am now." Oh, how thankful we are for this.

E-43 Il a trouvé Nathanaël sous cet arbre. Et il a dit: «Viens voir qui j’ai trouvé, Jésus de Nazareth, le Fils de Joseph.»

C’est ça. Ne restez pas à la maison à critiquer; venez voir vous-même. «Vous sondez les Ecritures, vous pensez avoir en Elles la Vie Eternelle: ce sont Elles qui rendent témoignage de Moi», a dit le Seigneur Jésus.
Il a donc dit: «Viens voir.»
| E-43 He found Nathanael under this tree. And he said, "Come, see Who I found, Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of Joseph."
Well, I can imagine this great orthodox believer rising up, dusting off his Palestinian garment, the dust from it. He said, "Now, Philip, I know you to be a good, sane man. And what's this that--that you're telling me? 'Come see Jesus of Nazareth'? Could any good thing come out of Nazareth?"
Well, I think that Philip give him the best answer I ever heard in my life. He said, "Come, see."
That's the idea. Don't sit home and criticize; come, see for yourself. "Search the Scriptures; in them you think you have Eternal Life, and they are they that testify of Me," said the Lord Jesus.
Now, he said, "Come, see."

Then the next thing, It was in three different symbols. Then It fell into Him and a Voice spoke, saying, 'This is My beloved Son, in Whom I am well pleased.'"

«Oh! Allons, un instant maintenant, Philippe. Tu vas un peu à l’extrême avec cela. Il ne lira jamais ma pensée; je suis–je suis un homme à l’esprit fort. Il va... il ne lira jamais ma pensée. Je ne croirai jamais cela.
| E-45 Then I can hear him say, "Do you know that old fisherman that we went to buy them fish from that time, and he was so illiterate, he couldn't sign his name to a--a receipt, that you wanted a receipt?"
"Yes, I remember it."
"Well, just yesterday before I left, was... He came up before the Lord Jesus. His brother went and got him. And so he brought him up here. And when He saw Peter--or Simon--He said, 'Your name is Simon, and you're the son of Jonas.' Oh, it wouldn't surprise me, Nathanael, but when you walk up before Him, He will say, 'Your name's Nathanael.'"
"Oh, now just a minute now, Philip. You're going just a little bit too deep with that. He will never read my mind; I'm--I'm one of them strong minded men. He will--He will never read my mind. I'll never believe that."

Jésus a tourné Son regard pour le porter sur l’assemblée, et sur la ligne de prière, où que ce fût, et Il a dit: «Voici un Israélite, dans lequel il n’y a point de fraude.»
Eh bien, certains critiqueurs pourraient dire: «Bien sûr qu’Il savait que c’était un Israélite, ils étaient en Palestine.»
Il y avait des Grecs; il y avait des Arabes. Ils étaient tous... Ils s’habillaient tous à la manière des gens de l’Orient. Ce n’était pas à cause de son habillement, ni de sa couleur brune; cela n’aurait fait aucune différence. Mais Jésus savait qu’il était un croyant orthodoxe. Il a dit: «Voici un Israélite, dans lequel il n’y a point de fraude.»
| E-46 Well, he comes on up till he gets in the Presence of the Lord Jesus. No doubt as soon as he heard Him speak, that Man spoke different from any man he had ever heard. He spoke with authority; He knowed what He was talking about. So He's setting--standing speaking, or in the prayer line, or whatever position He was in when Philip and Nathanael came up.
Jesus turned His eyes and looked out into the congregation, and into the line, wherever it was, and said, "Behold, an Israelite in whom there is no guile."
Well, some critic might say, "Sure He knowed he was an Israelite; they was in Palestine."
There were Greeks; there were Arabians. They were all... They all dressed in the eastern garment. Not the way he was dressed, not his color of brown; it would've not made any difference. But Jesus knew that he was an orthodox believer. He said, "Behold, an Israelite in whom there is no guile."

E-47 Or, Philippe... Nathanaël était un érudit bien formé. Il a alors dit: «Rabbi (ce qui veut dire «Maître»), quand m’as-Tu connu? Comment as-Tu su que j’étais un–un–un homme, dans lequel il n’y a point de fraude? (Et aujourd’hui je dirais, «un homme honnête, un homme de bien.») Comment l’as-Tu su?»
Il a dit: «Avant que Philippe t’appelât, quand tu étais sous l’arbre, Je t’ai vu.» C’était là Jésus hier. S’Il est le même hier, aujourd’hui et éternellement, c’est Jésus aujourd’hui.
Savez-vous ce que Philippe a dit, lorsqu’Il... (Je veux dire, ce que Nathanaël a dit) lorsque Jésus a fait cela?
Il a dit: «Rabbi, Tu es le Fils de Dieu, Tu es le Roi d’Israël.»
Jésus lui a dit: «Parce que Je t’ai dit ceci, tu crois; tu verras alors de plus grandes choses que celles-ci.»
Comprenez-vous cela? Voilà. Voyez-vous? Il a cru cela, parce qu’il savait que le Messie serait un Dieu-Prophète: un Homme qui se tenait là, prophétisait et pouvait prédire, voir des choses à l’avance et prédire. Il devait être aussi Emmanuel.
Il a dit: «Rabbi, Tu es le Fils de Dieu, Tu es le Roi d’Israël.»
Il a cru cela, et il... son nom est immortel parmi les hommes ce soir et son âme est immortelle avec Dieu. Il vivra éternellement, parce qu’il a reconnu cela au commencement, et il a dit: «Rabbi, Tu es le Fils de Dieu.»
| E-47 Now Philip... Nathanael was a well trained scholar. So he said, "Rabbi (which means "teacher"), when did You know me? How did You know that I was a--a--a man with no guile? (And I'd say today, "a honest, good man.") How did You know it?"
He said, "Before Philip called you, when you were under the tree, I saw you." That was Jesus yesterday. If He's the same yesterday, today, and forever, that's Jesus today.
You know what Philip said when He... I mean, Nathanael said when He did this? He said, "Rabbi, Thou art the Son of God. Thou art the King of Israel."
Jesus said to him, "Because I've told you this, you believe? Then you'll see greater things than this."
You get it? There it is. See? He believed it, because he knew that the Messiah would be a God prophet: A man that stood and would prophesy and could foretell, foresee and forthtell. Also He would be Emmanuel.
He said, "Rabbi, Thou art the Son of God. Thou art the King of Israel."
He believed it, and he--his name is immortal among men tonight and his soul is immortal with God. He will live forever, because he recognized it at the beginning, and said, "Rabbi, You're the Son of God."

Et ils ont dit: «Il est Béelzébul, le prince des démons. Il accomplit ces miracles par Béelzébul.» Béelzébul, un diseur de bonne aventure, et n’importe qui sait que la bonne aventure est du diable. C’est le diable et ce sont les oeuvres du diable. C’est ça!
| E-48 Now, of course there were those standing by who didn't believe that. There were many of the priests standing by. Great men, religious men, good men stood by. And they had to answer to their congregation. They knowed the thing was being done, and that was more of a miracle than healing the sick. Because it could be that the sick could get up, but that could not be; it had to be some supernatural power. So instead of trying to explain it, you know what they did? They just classed it as the devil.
And they said, "He is Beelzebub, the prince of the devils. He does these signs through that." Beelzebub, a fortuneteller, and anybody knows that fortunetelling is of the devil. That's the devil and the devil's works. All right.

E-49 Alors il a dit: «C’est un démon.»
Jésus s’est retourné et a dit: «Si vous dites cela contre Moi, le Fils de l’homme, Je vous pardonnerai cela. Mais (en d’autres termes comme ceci) le jour vient où le Saint-Esprit viendra et fera la même chose. Et quiconque prononcera une parole contre cela, il ne lui sera jamais pardonné ni dans ce siècle ni dans le siècle à venir.» Voyez-vous? C’était quelque chose de nouveau pour eux en ce temps-là. Or, Christ est mort. Maintenant, le Saint-Esprit est ici.
Alors, lisons le verset suivant. «Parce qu’ils ont traité l’Esprit de Dieu d’un esprit impur», ils ont traité l’Esprit de Dieu, Lui qui connaissait ces choses et révélait les secrets de leur coeur, comme le Dieu-Prophète était censé le faire, ils ont dit: «C’est un démon. C’est un mauvais esprit en Lui, une espèce de Béelzébul, un démon qui est en Lui et qui lit les pensées de ces gens. C’est ce qui fait cela.»
| E-49 So he said, "He is a devil."
Jesus turned around and said, "You say that against Me, the Son of man; I'll forgive you for it. But (in other wise like this) there's coming a day that when the Holy Ghost will come, and He will do the same thing. And whosoever speaks one word against It will never be forgiven, in this world and neither in the world that is to come." See? It was new to them then. Now, Christ has died. Now, the Holy Spirit's here.
Then, read the next verse. "Because they call the Spirit of God an unclean spirit," called the Spirit of God, Who knew those things and was revealing it to the secrets of the heart as the God prophet was supposed to do, they said, "He is a evil person. It's a bad spirit in him. Some kind of a Beelzebub, a devil, that's in Him that's reading the minds of those people. That's what's doing that."

E-50 Oh! Quel péché horrible que l’incrédulité! Eh bien, ces gens... Il n’y avait rien à leur reprocher. Ils étaient des saints, des sacrificateurs de la lignée des sacrificateurs. Ils devaient être des lévites; ils devaient naître un certain... Leur papa, leur grand-père, et leur arrière-grand-père, autrefois, devaient être des sacrificateurs. Ils connaissaient la loi; ils connaissaient la Parole, parfaitement mot à mot, ils s’y conformaient jour et nuit depuis leur enfance. Personne ne pouvait pointer du doigt quelque chose dans leur vie. Et, cependant, Jésus a dit: «Vous êtes de votre père, le diable.» Parce qu’ils n’ont pas cru lorsqu’ils ont vu l’oeuvre de Dieu s’accomplir. Ils... Il les a condamnés, parce qu’ils n’ont pas cru. La pire chose qui soit, c’est de ne pas croire en Dieu. C’est l’unique péché qui soit: l’incrédulité, ne pas croire la chose.
| E-50 Oh, what a horrible sin--unbelief. Why, those people... There was nothing against their lives. They were holy, just priests in a lineage of priests. They had to be Levites; they had to be borned a certain... Their daddy, their grandfather, and their great-grandfather on back, had to be priests. They knowed the law; they knowed the Word, just exactly letter by letter, lived in it day and night from childhood up. No one could put a finger on their life. And yet, Jesus said, "You are of your father, the devil." Because they believed not when they seen the work of God going on. They... He condemned them, because that they believed not. The worse thing there is is to disbelieve God. That's the only sin there is: unbelief, to disbelieve it.

Or, il y avait trois races de gens dans le monde à l’époque. Il y a trois races de gens, trois générations de gens, ou plutôt trois races de gens dans le monde aujourd’hui. Et c’étaient les–les descendants des trois fils de Noé. Si nous croyons la Bible, le monde entier, les générations, tous les peuples du monde descendent de ces trois enfants: Cham, Sem et Japhet, ces trois fils, les Juifs, les Gentils et les Samaritains.
Or, les Samaritains aussi attendaient un Messie. Et lorsque le Messie vient, Il vient à ceux qui L’attendent. Croyez-vous cela? Je crois que lorsqu’Il viendra pour Son Eglise, Il viendra à l’Eglise qui attend Sa Venue. Maintenant, ne faites pas de parallélisme avec ceci: «Il est venu vers les Siens et les Siens ne L’ont pas reçu.» Mais alors, Il s’est révélé aux Juifs en accomplissant un certain signe, par lequel ils ont reconnu qu’Il était le Messie.
| E-51 Now, we find... Let's go with them a little farther. Let's go over now... That's Acts... Saint John the 1st and 2nd chapter; let's go to Saint John the 4th chapter.
Now, there was three classes of people in the world then. There's three classes of people, three generations of people, or classes of people, rather, in the world today. And them was the--out of the three sons of Noah. If we believe the Bible, the whole world, the generations, all the people in the world, come down from those three children: Ham, Shem and Japheth, those three sons, Jew, Gentile and Samaritan.
Now, the Samaritans was looking for a Messiah also. And when the Messiah come, He comes to those who is looking for Him. You believe that? I believe when He comes for His Church, He will come to the Church that's looking for Him to come. Now, don't let it parallel that one: "He came to His own and His own received Him not." But then, He had made Himself known to the Jews by performing this certain sign, that they knowed that He was the Messiah.

Sans doute que votre pasteur a prêché là-dessus maintes et maintes fois. Mais j’essaie de dire ce qu’Il était hier, afin que vous voyiez ce qu’Il est aujourd’hui.
Eh bien, Il s’était révélé aux Juifs. (Il y a beaucoup d’autres passages que nous aborderons plus tard, mais juste pour toucher le point capital, puis dans quelques minutes nous appellerons la ligne de prière.)
| E-52 Now, He had need to go by Samaria. Samaria was the... You know, you, ministers and Bible readings, so as how the Samaritan race raised up. Now, we find out that they were looking for a Messiah too. And Jesus came to the well there, Sychar, and along about noon, He sent His disciples away to get some food.
And there was a woman. Let's think that she was a ill-famed woman. And she was living with her sixth husband. And she came out to the well to get some water. No doubt your pastor has preached on it a many time. But I'm trying to say what He was yesterday, so that you can see what He would be today.
Now, He's made Himself known to the Jews. (Many other places, we'll get to later, but just to hit the point, and in a few minutes we'll call the prayer line.)

E-53 Il est donc venu chez cette femme, ou plutôt cette femme est venue puiser de l’eau. Et c’est aux environs de midi. Et je peux la voir sortir, la–la chevelure pendante, non peignée. Et elle portait la–la cruche sur l’épaule, comme c’est la coutume chez les femmes de l’Orient. Et elles peuvent mettre une cruche d’environ cinq litres sur la tête, l’autre de cinq litres à la hanche et l’autre par ici, et marcher bonnement, en causant l’une avec l’autre, sans répandre une seule goutte, parfaitement en équilibre. Et peut-être que cette femme portait cette cruche. Voyons, peut-être qu’elle était... en effet, elle était sortie toute la nuit et venait de rentrer, raison pour laquelle elle était... ou plutôt s’était réveillée en retard. Cela s’expliquait peut-être par le fait qu’elle ne pouvait pas venir au puits en même temps que les femmes respectables. Il y avait une grande ségrégation entre elles en ce temps-là. Et une femme impure ne pouvait pas se mêler aux–aux femmes respectables.
| E-53 Now, He comes to this woman. Or this woman comes to get water, rather. And it's about noon time. And I can see her coming out with her--her hair hanging down, not combed. And she had the--the pitcher on her shoulder, as the oriental women usually carry it. And they can put five gallon of water on top of their head, five gallon on a hip, and five gallon over here, walk right on talking to one another and never spill a drop, just as perfectly balanced. And this woman maybe had this water pot. Let's see, she might've been... Because she'd been out all night and just got in, the reason that she was--or overslept. It might've been because she couldn't come to the well with the decent type of women. There was a great segregation among that in them days. An unclean woman couldn't mix with the--with the clean women.

E-54 De toute façon, elle se trouvait au puits. Et Jésus... Ça fait plutôt un tableau panoramique. Le puits là à Sychar, c’était quelque chose comme ceci: il y avait des vignes qui poussaient par-dessus la muraille, et le puits de la ville, là où les gens venaient puiser de l’eau. Je peux voir cette femme s’avancer, prendre les deux grosses anses et y introduire les crochets, et faire descendre cela au moyen du treuil pour puiser de l’eau. Alors, elle entendit une voix dire: «Femme, apporte-Moi à boire.» Et elle a regardé, et elle a vu un Juif d’âge moyen, assis et appuyé contre le mur du puits. Peut-être qu’Il avait l’air un peu plus âgé qu’Il ne l’était réellement. Je crois qu’Il avait environ trente ans, les gens Lui avaient dit qu’Il paraissait en avoir cinquante.
Ils ont dit: «Tu es pourtant un homme de pas plus de cinquante ans, et Tu dis avoir vu Abraham?»
Il a dit: «Avant qu’Abraham fût, JE SUIS.»
Alors ils–ils...Mais Il paraissait avoir cinquante ans, alors qu’Il n’en avait que trente. Et ainsi, Il avait peut-être l’air un peu plus âgé lorsqu’Il était assis là. Peut-être qu’il y avait une petite raie grise dans Sa chevelure ou Sa barbe, à cause du grand fardeau, les péchés du monde étant placés sur Ses épaules. Et Le voilà assis là.
| E-54 So anyhow, she was at the well. And Jesus... It's kind of a panoramic. The well there at Sychar is something like this, vines growed up over the wall, and the city well there where the people come to get their water. I can see the woman come up, take the two big handles and put the hooks in it, and let the windle down to get water. And she heard a voice said, "Woman, bring me a drink."
And she looked over, and she seen a middle-aged Jewish Man, setting over against the well. Perhaps He looked a little older than what He really was. I believe when He was about thirty, they told Him that He looked fifty.
They said, "You are a man yet, not no more than fifty years old, and You say that You've seen Abraham?"
He said, "Before Abraham was, I AM."
So they--they... But He looked fifty when He was only thirty. And so He might've looked a little aged setting back there. Maybe a little streak of gray in His hair or beard, because the great burden, the sins of the world was placed upon His shoulders. And there He set there.

Et elle a dit: «Le puits est profond, et Tu n’as rien pour puiser.»
| E-55 She seen this Jew. And they had a segregation in those days, just like there used to be in the north and south between the--the white and the colored people. But...
Then she said, "It's not customary for you Jews to ask a Samaritan woman such a thing as that." Said, "We have no... We have no dealings with one another."
Listen at the Voice come back. "Woman, if you knew Who it was that speaks with you, you'd ask Me for a drink. I'd give you water you don't come here to draw."
And she said, "The well's deep, and You have nothing to draw with."

E-56 La conversation s’est poursuivie au sujet de l’adoration sur cette montagne, à Jérusalem, et ainsi de suite. Quelque temps après, alors que Jésus se tenait là... Il devait passer par là; le Père L’avait envoyé là. Et ainsi, Il ignorait donc ce qui allait arriver. Que faisait-Il? Il cherchait à découvrir le problème de cette femme. | E-56 The conversation went on about worshipping in this mountain and at Jerusalem and so forth. After while, Jesus standing there... He had need to go by; the Father sent Him there. And then He didn't know what would happen, what we'd be doing. He was trying to find what the woman's trouble was. When He found her trouble... How many knows what it was? Sure, she was living in sin. And He, what did He say? "Go get your husband and come here."
She said, "I have no husband."
He said, "Thou has said well, for you have had five husbands. And therefore, the one you're living with now is not your husband."
Now, did she say, "That man is Beelzebub"? No, sir. Did she say, "He's... He must be a... something wrong with Him. He must have a--a horrible case of mental telepathy"? No, sir. She knowed more about God than half the ministry does today. That's right.

Elle a laissé tomber sa cruche et elle est entrée dans la ville en courant. Ecoutez-la: «Venez voir un Homme qui m’a dit ce que j’ai fait. Ne serait-ce pas le Messie même?» Et la Bible dit que les hommes de cette ville ont cru en Lui à cause de la déclaration de la femme. Oh! la la!
| E-57 She said, "Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet." Amen. "I perceive that You are a prophet. We Samaritans, we know that when the Messiah cometh, He will tell us these things. But Who are You?"
He said, "I'm He that speaks to you." Too bad that we don't know the same thing, isn't it? That's right.
She said, "We know--we Samaritans know--that when that Messiah cometh, He will be a God prophet. He will tell us these things." She was taught. Yet in her sins, she knowed what to look for when she seen it. And she said, "Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet. And I know that when the Messiah cometh, He will tell us these things."
He said, "I'm He that speaks to you."
And she dropped her water pot and ran into the city. Listen at her: "Come, see a Man that told me the things that I've done. Isn't this the very Messiah?" And the Bible said that the men of that city believed on Him because of the saying of the woman. Oh, my.

E-58 Là, c’était Jésus hier; c’est ainsi que Jésus s’était révélé. Pas une seule fois Il ne s’était fait connaître parmi les Gentils comme cela. Pourquoi? Les Gentils ne L’attendaient pas. Nous, les Gentils... Nous portions une massue à l’épaule, nous servions les idoles en ce temps-là. Mais les Juifs et les Samaritains, eux attendaient un Messie. Cependant, nous avons eu deux mille ans de monde ecclésiastique, et nous attendons un Messie dans les derniers jours. Savez-vous qu’Il a promis de faire la même chose? | E-58 That was Jesus yesterday. That was the way Jesus made Himself known. He never one time represented Hisself amongst the Gentiles like that. Why? The Gentiles wasn't looking for Him. The Gentiles... We had a club on our shoulder, serving idols in them days. But the Jews was looking for a Messiah, and the Samaritans was looking for a Messiah. But we've had two thousand years of church world, and we're looking for a Messiah in the last days. Did you know He promised He'd do the same thing? We'll get to it later in the week. I'll give you one right now.
Jesus said over in there (just before we close)... Jesus said over in the Scriptures, when He's telling about the coming of the Lord, His second coming. The sea roared, waves and every so four things taking place, mighty signs to be taking place. He said, "As it was in the days of Sodom, so shall it be in the coming of the Son of Man."

Il y avait Lot, le membre d’église tiède qui prêchait là à Sodome. Et il y avait Abraham, celui qui était sorti après un appel et qui était élu. Je me sens religieux maintenant même. Tous ceux qui sont sortis après un appel, les gens séparés... Le mot Eglise signifie «appelé et séparé du monde.»
| E-59 Do you notice when He said in the days of Noah, He give what they were doing, so that the spiritual mind would be able to pick it up. He's hid it from the eyes of the wise and prudent. Get on your spiritual eyesight now; get on your spiritual understanding. He said, "As it was in the days of Noah, they were eating, drinking, marrying, and giving in marriage." But He said, "As it was in the days of Sodom, so shall it be in the coming of the Son of Man." Now, watch.
We've always had three classes of people, three races of people, three different stages of the people. Look, there was a Sodomite sinner to who wouldn't have it. There was Lot, the lukewarm church member down there preaching in Sodom. And there was Abraham, the called out and elected. I feel religious right now. All the called out, the separated people... The church means "separated, called out from the world."

E-60 Il y avait Abraham, celui qui était sorti après l’appel. Il menait une vie plutôt difficile, il était persécuté et on se moquait de lui, il était là dans le désert sur une terre stérile, à l’ombre d’un chêne. But when the hour of the message came, he looked up in the heat of the day, and he seen three Men coming up, dust all over Their clothes. And Abraham looked again; he knowed there was just something about it. A real borned again child of God knows the Spirit of God when It strikes. Yes, sir. "My sheep know My voice."
Abraham looked real quick. He walked out where They was, and said, "Turn aside. Come, set under the oak a little bit and let--rest Yourselves. And I'll fetch You a little water and wash Your feet, and I'll give You a morsel of bread. Then go on Your way."

Maman avait coutume d’attacher une espèce de papier à un bâton, lorsque je n’arrivais pas à me procurer un rameau vert, vous savez, pour chasser les mouches, à l’époque où nous n’avions pas de rideaux; c’était une vieille petite porte d’une hutte sans plancher au sol. Et il n’y avait qu’un vieux petit lit de paille dans un coin, et... Eh bien, c’étaient certainement des spathes de maïs. J’ai vu mon papa se servir d’une spathe de maïs comme brosse à barbe comme cela, prendre cette spathe de maïs pour en faire une brosse à barbe. Nous menions une vie difficile.

He run out, and felt around, and got the fattest little calf he could find, slayed it, and had it dressed, and come out and fed Them meat and milk and bread. And I can see old Abraham with the fly bush, you know, as it was a shoo--shooing the flies. How many Kentuckians are in here, difference, knows what a fly bush is? No, I'm too far away from home. Oh, no, I am not. No, that's right.
Yes, sir. Well, I've stood many times at the table with a--a... Mom used to make a paper thing on a stick when I couldn't get a green brush, you know, and shoo the flies when we didn't have no screens, little old cabin door, and no floor on the thing. And just a little old bed in the corner made out of shucks, and... Why, certainly, corn shucks. I seen my daddy with a corn shuck shaving brush like that--take that corn shucks for--make a shaving brush. We lived hard.

E-62 Et jadis, en ces temps-là, je peux voir Abraham se tenir là, Les observant, vous savez, il se passe quelque chose. Et en ce temps-là les femmes n’étaient pas aussi effrontées qu’elles le sont aujourd’hui. En ce temps-là, elles restaient derrière et s’occupaient de leurs travaux, et elle était donc derrière, dans la tente. Aujourd’hui, c’est elle qui doit diriger les affaires de son mari, et toutes les autres affaires, et tout le reste. Ainsi, Sara, elle, restait à sa place, derrière dans la tente.
Abraham a dit... il a commencé à constater que l’Un d’Eux commençait à regarder en direction de Sodome. Il a compris que quelque chose allait se passer. Deux d’entre Eux se sont levés. [Espace vide sur la bande–N.D.E.]... ces deux pour apporter un message... un Billy Graham moderne, si jamais il l’était, pour prêcher la repentance. Et la repentance... toujours. Aucun–aucun miracle, si ce n’est que d’aveugler les gens. Et la prédication de l’Evangile aveugle l’incroyant. C’est tout à fait juste. Il était là, là-bas, prêchant; il allait à l’église, chez–chez Lot. Et avec Lot, il a essayé d’apporter la conviction à ce... Eh bien, leur aveuglement... Ils tâtonnaient sans cesse dans le noir pour Les trouver, pour trouver ces Hommes. Ils étaient complètement souillés pour ce qui est de l’être.

Abraham said--begin to notice One of Them begin to look over towards Sodom. He knowed something was going to take place. Two of Them got up.
[Blank.spot.on.tape--Ed.]... these two to bring a message--a modern Billy Graham, if he ever was, to preach repentance. And repentance always... No--no miracles, only the blinding of the people. And the preaching of the Gospel blinds the unbeliever. That's exactly right. There he was down there, preaching, went to the church, to--to Lot. And with Lot, he tried to bring conviction to that... Why, the blinding of them... They still felt through the night to find Them, to find these Men. They were absolutely polluted if they ever was.

| E-63 Now, watch this One that stayed back. Now, that's the message. The nominal church today has had its message through the Billy Grahams, and the--and the great men of that denomination. They've had their message to come out of Babylon. But they won't listen to it, no more then they did back there in that day.
But now wait, there was an Angel stayed; One of Them stayed behind. How many knows that's true? One of Them stayed behind with Abraham, the elected church. Let's see what He did. He never called for no repentance. Let's see what He did. Jesus said the same thing would repeat. And I want you to notice, after this Angel done what He did and was taken out of--out of the sight of Abraham, Abraham...
[Blank.spot.on.tape--Ed.] flesh, foreshowing what He would do in the flesh of His Church in the last days. "As it was in the days of Sodom, so shall it be in the coming of the Son of man." God, living in the flesh of His Church. Doing what? What He did there; what He did when He come on earth. Watch Him. What did He do?

E-64 Il était assis là, regardant Abraham. La Bible dit qu’Il avait le dos tourné à la tente. Il a dit: «Abraham, où est ta femme, Sara?» Avez-vous déjà lu cela? «Où est ta femme, Sara?» Comment savait-Il qu’il était marié, et comment savait-Il qu’il avait une femme, et comment savait-Il qu’elle s’appelait Sara? Quelle sorte de télépathie était-ce?
Et Abraham a dit: «Elle se trouve dans la tente, derrière Toi.»
Et ensuite l’Ange a dit: «Je vais te visiter au temps de la vie. (Comme nous le savons, les 28 jours...)» Il a dit: «Je...» Sara était une vieille femme. Il a dit: «Je vais te visiter au temps de la vie, et tu vas avoir de Sara cet enfant, que Je t’avais promis. Je vais accomplir Ma promesse.»
Et Sara, qui était là dans la tente derrière Lui, a ri sous cape. Est-ce juste? Et l’Ange regardait dans cette direction, Il a dit: «Pourquoi Sara a-t-elle ri?»
| E-64 He set there looking at Abraham. The Bible said His back was to the tent. He said, "Abraham, where is your wife, Sarah?" Did you ever read it? "Where is your wife, Sarah?" How did He know he was married, and how did He know he had a wife, and how did He know his name was Sarah? What kind of telepathy was that?
And Abraham said, "She's in the tent behind You."
And then the Angel said, "I'm going to visit you according to the time of life. (As we know, the twenty-eight day... )" Said, "I..." Sarah was an old woman. Said, "I'm going to visit you according to the time of life, and you're going to have this child by Sarah, that I said that you was going to have. I'm going to fulfill My promise."
And Sarah, in the tent behind Him, laughed to herself. Is that right? And the Angel looking this a way, said, "Why did Sarah laugh?"

E-65 «Ce qui arriva du temps de Sodome arrivera de même à la Venue du Fils de l’homme.» Il viendra vers l’Eglise des Gentils. Les Gentils n’ont jamais reçu cela dans aucun âge avant cet âge. Voilà la chose aujourd’hui. Qu’est-ce? Jésus-Christ, le même hier, aujourd’hui et éternellement. Jésus-Christ, le même –même Seigneur Jésus, avec les mêmes signes, le même Saint-Esprit vivant dans l’Eglise aujourd’hui, accomplissant les mêmes choses qu’Il avait faites.
Jésus a dit dans Jean, chapitre 14, je crois, à peu près au verset 8, Il a dit: «Celui qui croit en Moi fera aussi les oeuvres que Je fais.»
| E-65 "As it was in the days of Sodom, so shall it be in the coming of the Son of man." He will come to the Gentile church. The Gentiles never had it in any age until this age. Here it is today. What is it? Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever. Jesus Christ, the same--same Lord Jesus, with the same signs, the same Holy Spirit living in the Church today, performing the very things that He did.
Jesus said in Saint John the 14th chapter, I believe about the 8th verse. He said, "He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also."

E-66 Maintenant, nous voyons ce qu’Il était hier. C’est ce qu’Il était. Ils ont cru en Lui, parce qu’Il était le Messie, Il était confirmé comme étant le Messie. Maintenant, s’Il est le même hier, aujourd’hui et éternellement, Il devra faire les mêmes oeuvres à la fin de cet âge des Gentils, juste comme Il l’avait fait à la fin de l’âge des Juifs et des Samaritains. S’Il ne le fait pas, alors Il avait fait pour eux quelque chose qu’Il n’a pas fait pour nous. Alors Il ne serait pas juste. Il est infini; Il ne peut pas changer Ses plans. Et si Dieu nous laisse entrer dans Sa Présence, dans cet âge des Gentils, sans faire et sans manifester devant nous la même chose qu’Il avait manifestée devant eux autrefois là-bas, alors Il avait fait pour eux quelque chose qu’Il n’a pas fait pour nous. Et Il ne nous a pas accordé de faire cela. Nous sommes ici aujourd’hui à l’heure où Christ est vivant.
Il est ressuscité des morts. Il n’est pas mort; Il est vivant pour accomplir et faire exactement ce qu’Il avait accompli hier dans Son Eglise qui est disposée à s’abandonner et à laisser le Saint-Esprit agir.
| E-66 Now, we see what He was yesterday. That's what He was. They believed Him, because that He was the Messiah, proven to be the Messiah. Now, if He's the same yesterday, today, and forever, He will have to do the same to the closing of this age of the Gentiles, just like He did to the closing of the age of the Jews and Samaritans. If He doesn't, then He did something for them that He did not do for us. Then He would not be just. He's infinite; He cannot change His plans. And if God lets us come into His Presence, this Gentile age, without doing and showing to us the same that He did to them back there, then He done something for them He did not do for us. But He has not let us do it. We're here at the hour today when Jesus Christ lives.
He's raised from the dead. He is not dead; He is a living to perform and to do the same as He did yesterday in His Church that will yield itself and let the Holy Spirit move.

Nous nous sommes établis là-dessus. Dieu amène Son Eglise un peu plus haut, un peu plus haut, exactement comme une pyramide, lorsqu’on en arrive au sommet, qu’on atteint finalement le pic.
Avez-vous remarqué, la pyramide a été rejetée. La pierre qui se trouvait au sommet de la pyramide principale (si vous avez déjà été en Egypte), celle-ci n’a jamais été coiffée. Pourquoi? La pierre de faîte avait été rejetée. Et qu’est-ce que cette pierre? Chaque pierre, lorsqu’on en arrivait à la fin, devait être taillée afin de s’ajuster à la pierre de faîte. Or, l’Eglise, évoluant depuis Luther, Wesley, la Pentecôte, devra avoir une forme jusqu’à ce que la Pierre de Faîte, Jésus-Christ, et l’Eglise vont s’unir (Alléluia!) pour coiffer l’Eglise toute entière pour la résurrection de chaque mortel qui est mort en croyant en Son Nom. Amen.
Je crois que nous y sommes aujourd’hui, car Jésus-Christ demeure toujours le même hier, aujourd’hui et éternellement. Croyez-vous cela?
| E-67 You Pentecostal people, many of you, upon the baptism of the Holy Spirit, with speaking in tongues, has give messages and all those things; that's exactly what the Bible teaches. That's exactly right. You gave prophecies and so forth. Then why can't we, when we see this has begin to move down now--we're settled on that--God moves His Church a little higher, a little higher, just like a pyramid, when it comes to a top, finally to a peak.
Did you notice, the pyramid was rejected. The stone that went on the top of the main pyramid (if you was ever in Egypt) never did cap it. Why? The headstone was rejected. And what's that stone? Each stone, as it comes up to the end, had to be cut just in order for the headstone. Now, the Church coming up from Luther, Wesley, Pentecost, it'll have to get into shape till the Headstone Christ Jesus and the Church will set together (Hallelujah.) to cap the whole Church together for the resurrection of every mortal that died believing on His Name. Amen.
I believe that we are here today, that Jesus Christ still remains the same yesterday, today, and forever. Do you believe it?

E-68 S’Il venait au milieu de nous ce soir accomplir et faire exactement ce qu’Il avait fait à l’époque... Vous direz: «Me guérirait-Il? Il ne pourrait pas vous guérir; Il l’a déjà fait. «Me sauverait-Il?» Il ne pourrait pas vous sauver; Il l’a déjà fait. Vous devez accepter cela. Il pourrait manifester Sa Présence ici. Il pourrait vous le prouver par un saint assis là derrière, qui parlerait en langues, et celui-ci en donnerait l’interprétation, ou par un autre canal comme cela, ou par un–par un prophète qui se lèverait et dirait quelque chose qui serait parfaitement la vérité, ou bien qui ferait quelque chose que les Ecritures avaient dit qu’Il ferait dans les derniers jours, alors, vous croirez qu’Il vit avec nous; Il était...?...
Paul a dit: «Si vous parlez tous en langues, et qu’il n’y a pas d’interprète, alors que les hommes du peuple sont assis au milieu de vous, a-t-il dit, ne vont-ils pas alors s’en aller et dire que vous êtes tous fous ou insensés?» Voyez-vous? «Mais si l’un de vous est un prophète, et s’il prophétise et révèle les secrets du coeur, alors ils tomberont tous sur leurs faces et diront: ‘Dieu est avec vous.’» Est-ce juste? Bien, nous savons tous que c’est la vérité. Alors si eux avaient cela dans l’Eglise primitive, nous devons avoir cela dans cette Eglise, à la fin de cet âge des Gentils. Nous sommes au temps de la fin. Et je crois que Jésus-Christ est le même hier, aujourd’hui et éternellement.
| E-68 If He would come in this midst tonight and would perform and do just as He did then... You say, "Would He heal me?" He couldn't heal you; He's already done it. "Would He save me?" He couldn't save you; He's already done it. You have to accept it. He could show Hisself present here. He could prove to you by some saint back there to speak with a tongue, and this one to interpret, or some other way like that, or a--a prophet raise up and say something was perfectly truth, or do something that the Scripture said that He would do in the last days, Then you could believe He was living with us; He was...?...
Paul said, "If you all speak with tongues, and there be no interrupter, the unlearned set in the midst," said, "then, won't they go away and say you're all mad or crazy?" See? "But if one is a prophet and prophesies and reveals the secrets of the heart, then they'll all fall down and say, 'God is with you.'"
Is that right? Well, we all know that's the truth. Then if they had that in the early church, we got to have it in this church at the closing of this Gentile age. We're at the end time. And I believe that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

E-69 Et vous direz: «Monsieur, je voudrais voir Jésus.» Je crois ce soir de tout mon coeur qu’Il va se révéler au milieu de vous. Maintenant, comment le fera-t-Il? De la même façon qu’Il l’avait fait en ce temps-là, exactement de la même façon qu’Il avait fait en ce temps-là. Il l’avait promis; Il avait dit que cela arriverait dans les derniers jours. Nous croyons maintenant que c’est les derniers jours. Les signes des derniers jours apparaissent partout, l’église se refroidit, et toutes ces choses vont tel qu’elles vont. Il avait dit qu’il y aurait une dislocation, et toutes ces choses qui ont été annoncées. Mais en ce jour-là, Il avait promis que ces choses arriveraient, et les voici.
Avez-vous remarqué, lorsque Jésus a commencé Son ministère, Il avait commencé à... Il ne parlait pas tellement de Son jour en ce temps-là. Il parlait plus de Sa Seconde Venue que de Sa Première Venue sur terre, parlant de ce qui arriverait en ce jour.
| E-69 And you say, "Sir, I would like to see Jesus." I trust tonight with all my heart that He will make Hisself known among you. Now, how will He do it? The same way He did then, just the same way He did then. He promised it; He said it would be in the last days. We believe this is the last days. The last day's signs are appearing everywhere, the church cooling off, and all of the things going the way they're going. There'd come a falling away, all the things that was spoke of. But in that day, He promised these things would take place, and here it is.
Did you notice, when Jesus was started out in His ministry, how that He begin to, not say so much about His day then. He was telling more about His second coming than He was His first advent to the earth, speaking what this would be in this day.

Une femme se faufila à travers la foule. Peut-être qu’elle... Supposons qu’ils eussent des cartes de prière à l’époque. (Ils n’en avaient pas, mais disons qu’ils en avaient.) Elle n’arrivait pas à L’atteindre; elle ne pouvait pas L’atteindre. Elle n’avait aucun moyen pour L’atteindre.
Il y aura des gens là dans l’auditoire ce soir, qui n’auront pas un moyen de parvenir ici afin qu’on prie pour eux. Nous devons prendre les gens au fur et à mesure que leurs numéros sont appelés. Eh bien, c’est ce que... Nous prendrons tout le monde si possible, et avant... Tout homme, toute femme qui a une carte de prière, gardez-la tout simplement. Nous allons en arriver à vous tôt ou tard. Nous ne savons pas comment ça se fera, mais c’est juste tel que le Saint-Esprit conduira les choses.
| E-70 Now, if He will come... Now, no matter what kind of a gift He'd have standing here or a gift out there, they have to get together. You have to believe it or nothing will happen. The little woman touched His garment, and she was healed, because she believed it. She had faith.
A woman pushed through the crowd. Perhaps she... Say they had prayer cards then. (They didn't, but say they did.) She couldn't get to Him; she had no way of getting to Him. She didn't have no means of getting to Him.
There'll people out there in the audience tonight that'll have no way of getting up here to be prayed for. We have to take them just as their numbers come. Well, that's what... We'll get everyone if we can, and before... Every man that's got a prayer card, woman, just hold to it; we'll get to you sooner or later. We don't know how it'll be, but the just the way the Spirit will lead it.

E-71 Alors, cette petite femme, qu’a-t-elle fait? Elle a dit: «Si seulement je touchais simplement Son vêtement... je crois que cet Homme a dit la vérité. Je vais... Je–je suis certaine que je serai guérie.»
Eh bien, certainement. C’est ce qu’Il a promis. Très bien. Sa foi... Et ensuite, lorsqu’elle L’a touché... Oh! Tout le monde Le touchait, oh! la la! L’entourant de leurs bras; et certains criaient «Hosanna» et d’autres hurlaient, critiquaient et ainsi de suite. Evidemment, c’est encore une foule de gens de toutes espèces, une multitude. Les réunions de Christ produisent toujours des croyants, des incroyants et des soi-disant croyants. Alors, lorsqu’ils viennent...
Elle a donc touché Son vêtement, puis elle s’est retirée dans l’assistance (comme vous l’êtes ce soir), et elle s’est peut-être assise. Peut-être qu’elle s’est tenue debout, je ne sais pas. Toutefois, Jésus s’est retourné et a dit: «Qui M’a touché?»
A tel point que l’apôtre Pierre L’a repris, et a dit: «Pourquoi dis-Tu pareille chose? C’est tout le monde qui Te touche.»
Il a dit: «Mais j’ai connu qu’une vertu est sortie de Moi.» La vertu c’est la force; Il était devenu faible. Elle L’avait touché; Il était devenu faible. Il parcourut l’assistance du regard, jusqu’à ce qu’Il l’a repérée et lui a parlé de sa perte de sang. Et à l’instant même, elle a cru qu’elle était guérie, et elle l’a été. Est-ce juste?
| E-71 Now, this little woman, what did she do? She said, "If I will just touch His garment--I believe that Man told the truth. I'll... I--I know I'll be healed."
Why, certainly. That's what He promised. All right. Her faith... And then when she touched Him... Oh, everybody was touching Him, my, with their arms around Him, and "Hosanna" and some hollering, and criticizing, and everything. 'Course that's the mixed up crowd again, the multitude. Christ's gatherings always produces the believer, unbeliever, and make believer. Now, when they come...
Then she touched His garment, and she went off in the audience (like you are tonight) and set down maybe. Maybe she stood up, I don't know. However, Jesus turned around and said, "Who touched Me?"
Insomuch, till the apostle Peter rebuked Him, and said, "Why do You say such a thing as that? Everybody's touching You."
He said, "But I perceive that virtue has gone from Me." Virtue is strength; He got weak. She touched Him; He got weak. He looked out over the audience, until He found her and told her about her blood issue. And from that very minute, she believed that she was healed, and she was. Is that right?

E-72 Maintenant, si Jésus-Christ est le même hier, aujourd’hui et éternellement, croyez-vous qu’Il est... Le Nouveau Testament, l’Epître aux Hébreux dit qu’Il est maintenant même assis à la droite de Dieu, la puissance d’En haut, et qu’Il est le Souverain Sacrificateur qui peut être touché par le sentiment de nos infirmités. Est-ce juste, frères? Maintenant, si vous êtes assis là et que vous n’êtes pas ici dans la ligne de prière, si vous croyez de tout votre coeur et que vous êtes malade, dites: «Seigneur Dieu, je suis aussi malade. J’ai besoin d’aide. Veux-Tu m’aider, ô Seigneur?» Voyez ce qu’Il fera. Certainement.
Si vous croyez en Lui de tout votre coeur, Il est le Souverain Sacrificateur. Cela ne vous ferait aucun bien de me toucher, moi; je ne suis qu’un pécheur sauvé par grâce. Cela ne vous ferait aucun bien de toucher n’importe qui d’entre nous. Nous ne sommes que des pécheurs sauvés par grâce.
| E-72 Now, if Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever, do you believe that He is... The New Testament, the book of Hebrews says that He is right now setting at the right hand of God, power on high, and He is a High Priest that can be touched by the feeling of our infirmities. Is that right, brethren? Now, if you're setting out there and not on the prayer line here, if you believe with all your heart, and you're sick, say, "Lord God, I'm sick too. I need help. Will You help me, O Lord?" See what He does. Certainly.
If you'll believe Him with all your heart, He's the High Priest. Wouldn't do no good to touch me; I'm just a sinner saved by grace. Wouldn't do no good to touch any of the rest of us. We're just sinners saved by grace.

E-73 Mais si vous laissez votre esprit s’élever au-dessus de nous, et monter au-delà et dire: «Seigneur Dieu, je crois de tout mon coeur que nous vivons dans les derniers jours. Lorsqu’Il va... S’Il vient au milieu de nous ce soir, je ne dis pas qu’Il viendra, mais s’Il vient, alors, dites: «Permets-le-moi, ô Seigneur Dieu.» Alors, touchez Son vêtement, et voyez s’Il ne va pas se retourner pour faire la même chose qu’Il avait faite hier. Il est le même hier, aujourd’hui et éternellement. Prions.
| E-73 But if you'll let your spirit move beyond us, and go up yonder and say, "Lord God, I believe with all your heart that we're living in the last days. This is the signs that You said. The man read it out of the Bible, said it out of the Bible. I'll read it; I've read it many times. I know it, and I believe that it's the truth."
When He will... If He will come among us tonight, I don't say that He will, but if He will, then you say, "Let me, O Lord God." Then you touch His garment, and see if He don't turn right around and do the same thing that He did yesterday. He's the same yesterday, today, and forever. Let us pray.

E-74 Notre Père céleste, nous sommes vraiment heureux d’être Tes serviteurs. Nous sommes vraiment contents de savoir que Tu vis, et–et en ce glorieux jour où, alors que nous savons par le tournant de l’histoire, nous savons par l’aspect des choses, nous savons par la façon dont les Nations Unies et les–les différentes nations sont secouées, que nous ne sommes pas ici pour très longtemps. Nous savons que bientôt quelqu’un va commettre une gaffe. Ils vont tirer un de ces missiles. Et partout dans le monde, les grandes îles sont remplies des missiles atomiques, des bombes à hydrogène qui feront un trou de 175 miles carré [273,6 km²] à 155 pieds [47 m] de profondeur dans la terre, et des milliers de ces missiles sont pointés droit vers chaque ville à travers cette nation et partout dans le monde, en partant d’une côte à l’autre. Et dès que l’un d’eux apparaîtra sur l’écran, l’autre pays en lâchera un. La terre ne pourrait donc pas supporter cela. Et avant que tout ceci se produise, Tu as dit que nous serons partis. Combien proche est donc la Venue. Si nous pouvons nous attendre à cela à n’importe quel moment, à combien plus forte raison devrions-nous nous attendre à la Venue du Seigneur.
| E-74 Our heavenly Father, we are so happy to be Your servants. We are so glad to know that You live, and--and in this great day that when we're know by the turn of history... We know by the looks of things. We know by the way that the U.N. and the--the different nations are shaping up, we're not here very much longer. We know that soon somebody's going to do something wrong. They're going to fire one of those missiles. And all around the world, great islands filled with atomic missiles, hydrogen bombs that will go a hundred and seventy-five miles square, hundred and fifty feet deep in the earth, and thousands of them are aimed right at every city across this nation and around the world, from one side to the other. And the first time one of them hits a--a screen, the other one will let loose. The world couldn't stand it now. And before all this happens, You said we would go. How close is the coming then. If we could look for that at any hour, how much the coming of the Lord.

E-75 Maintenant, Dieu notre Père, nous savons que nous ne sommes qu’un petit groupe ici ce soir. Mais nous sommes ici avec... croyant, Seigneur, que nous sommes d’un commun accord. Nous croyons. Et c’est à ceci que nous nous sommes accrochés... Voici, assis sur cette estrade, des ministres qui prêchaient l’Evangile bien longtemps avant que je commence à prêcher. Il y en a beaucoup qui sont là dans le même cas, qui ont prêché et prophétisé sur ce jour. Nous nous approchons de la fin, Père. Le temps est si court. Nous essayons de faire vraiment pression en une soirée. Nous pensons peut-être qu’il pourrait y avoir un pécheur ici qui pourrait ne pas être ici encore demain soir. Saisis son âme ce soir, Seigneur. Accorde-le.
Maintenant, que le Saint-Esprit vienne ce soir. Oins-nous; oins l’assemblée; oins les ministres qui sont sur l’estrade; oins-moi, Ton serviteur indigne. Et puisses-Tu nous utiliser, afin d’accomplir Ta Parole que Tu as promise, selon laquelle Tu le feras. Tu as dit: «Vous ferez aussi les oeuvres que Je fais. Encore un peu de temps, et le monde ne Me verra plus.» C’est vrai, Seigneur. Cette réunion a été annoncée, là dans les rues, partout. Le monde continue son bonhomme de chemin. L’eau a toujours tendance à revenir à son niveau.
| E-75 Now, Father God, we know that just a small group of us here tonight. But we're here with... trusting, Lord, that we're in one accord. We're believing. And this that we've held on to... Here's ministers setting on the platform, long before I started preaching, was ministers preaching the Gospel. There's many out there the same way, that's spoke of and prophesied of this day. We're nearing the end, Father. Time is so short. We try to press so much in at one night. We think maybe there might be a sinner here that wouldn't be here again tomorrow night. Catch his soul tonight, Lord. Grant it.
Now, let the Holy Spirit come tonight. Anoint us; anoint the congregation; anoint the ministers on the platform; anoint me, Your unworthy servant. And may You use us, Lord, to fulfill Your Word that You've promised that You would do. You said, "The works that I do shall you also. A little while, and the world will see Me no more." That's true, Lord. This meeting advertised up, down the streets, everywhere. The world's still at its going, water's seeping its level.

E-76 Mais il y en a qui ont bravé la chaleur, et qui sont assis dans cette petite salle ce soir. Ils ont faim et soif. Ils T’aiment; ils veulent en savoir plus sur Toi. Et je me suis tenu ici sur base de Ta Parole, leur disant que Tu es le même hier, aujourd’hui et éternellement, afin de les encourager. S’ils ont soif de Toi, Tu es ici pour les sauver. S’ils ont soif de la guérison, Tu es ici pour les guérir. Ta Présence même est ici, et Elle les guérira s’ils croient. Elle les sauvera s’ils croient.
Ainsi, Dieu notre Père, viens ce soir et fais comme Tu l’avais fait autrefois là-bas. Et c’était une preuve pour ceux qui revenaient d’Emmaüs, comme nous l’avons dit il y a un instant; c’était pour eux une preuve que Tu étais le Seigneur Jésus-Christ ressuscité, pas une autre personne, la même Personne, car Tu as fait les mêmes choses que Tu avais faites avant Ta crucifixion. Ils ont compris que Tu étais vivant.
Dieu notre Père, il se pourrait qu’il y ait des hommes et des femmes ici ce soir qui n’ont pas encore expérimenté ceci. Puissent-ils l’expérimenter ce soir. C’est pour Ton honneur, Seigneur, et pour Ta gloire. Je me confie à Toi, avec le reste de cette église, afin que Tu nous utilises pour Ton honneur. Au Nom de Jésus, je prie. Amen.
| E-76 But there's some who has pressed through the heat, setting in this little building tonight. They're hungering and they're thirsting. They love You; they want to know more about You. And I've stood here by Your Word, telling them that You are the same yesterday, today, and forever to encourage them. If they are hungering for You, You're here to save them. If they're hungering for healing, You're here to heal them. Your very Presence is here, and it'll heal them if they'll believe. It'll save them if they'll believe.
So, Father God, come tonight and do something like You did back there. And that was a proof to those coming from Emmaus as we mentioned awhile ago; it was proof to them that You was the resurrected Jesus, not another One, the same One, for You did the same things You did before Your crucifixion. They knew You were alive.
Father God, there may be men and women in here tonight that's never experienced this yet. May they experience it tonight. It's for Your honor, Lord, and Your glory. I commit myself to you, with the rest of the church, that You'll use us to Your honor. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

E-77 Si j’avais un moyen pour guérir les malades, je le ferais certainement. Je serais content de le faire. Je n’ai aucun pouvoir pour guérir. Je ne crois pas que quelqu’un d’autre en ait. Les hommes... Je ne crois pas qu’un médecin en ait. Je crois que la guérison se trouve en Dieu. Le médecin a sa raison d’être. Il peut enlever quelque chose, ou extraire une dent, suturer quelque chose, enlever l’appendice, ou un abcès ou quoi que ce soit. Mais il ne reconstitue pas le tissu, le médicament non plus. C’est la nature, c’est Dieu qui fait cela. C’est juste. Tout ce qui vient de Dieu... Si vous vous fracturez le bras et que vous alliez chez le médecin, il le remettra en place, mais il ne le guérira pas. Il le remettra simplement en place. C’est Dieu qui opère la guérison; c’est Lui qui le guérit. Il fournit le calcium et tout ce qui entre dans la constitution des os pour–pour le guérir.
Maintenant, combien sont malades ici ce soir? Levez la main. Ceux qui sont malades et qui ont besoin de la guérison de leur corps... La moitié de l’auditoire. Bien, mon fils avait distribué des cartes de prière. Je... Nous n’avons pas d’espace pour les appeler tous à la fois. Mais nous allons en appeler quelques-uns, ensuite plus tard, nous allons prendre les autres, peut-être ce soir, peut-être pas, demain soir, ou le soir suivant, ou n’importe quand que le Seigneur agira.
| E-77 If there was a way for me to make the sick well, I would certainly do it. I would be glad to do it. I have no power to heal. I don't believe anyone else does. Men... I don't believe a doctor does. I believe healing lays in God. A doctor has a right. He can move something, or pull a tooth, sew up something, take appendix out, or an abscess or whatever it might be. But he doesn't build tissue; neither does medicine. Nature, God does that. That's right. All from God... You break your arm. Go to the doctor and let him set it, but he doesn't heal it. He just sets it. God does the healing; He heals it. He furnishes the calcium and whatever goes into the bones to--to heal it.
Now, how many in here is sick tonight? Raise up your hand. That's sick and needs healing in your body... Half of the audience. Now, my son give out some prayer cards. I... We haven't got room to call them all at one time. But let's just call a few, then later on, we'll get the rest of them, maybe tonight, maybe not, tomorrow night, or next night, or whenever the Lord moves.

Nous ne pouvons pas mettre tout le monde debout à la fois. Ou je pense qu’il a commencé par 1; je pense que 1... Où est-il? Quelqu’un a-t-il la carte de prière numéro 1? Levez la main. Voyons voir. Mon fils n’est pas ici. Y a-t-il une carte de prière numéro 1? Quelqu’un a-t-il une carte de prière numéro 1? Eh bien, peut-être que j’ai... Peut-être que cela n’a pas commencé... Ou bien est-ce cette–est-ce cette dame de couleur ici? Très bien, venez juste ici, madame, juste de ce côté-ci.

La raison pour laquelle je les appelle un à un, c’est parce que quelqu’un pourrait être sourd et ne pas entendre cela. Numéro 6? Venez donc. Si vous ne pouvez pas vous levez, nous avons... Est-ce des huissiers qui se tiennent ici? Très–très bien. Ils–ils vont vous transporter, si vous ne pouvez pas venir. Très bien. Numéro 6, 7? Voulez-vous, si possible, lever la main rapidement? Jetez un coup d’oeil sur votre carte de prière. Numéro 7? Très bien. 8? 8? Carte de prière 8? Peut-être qu’ils...

Mais ce qu’Il voit (non pas ce qu’Il entend), mais ce qu’Il voit faire au Père, le Fils le fait pareillement. Le Père agit, et Moi aussi, J’agis jusqu’à présent.» Voilà...
En d’autres termes, Il a dit: «Je ne fais rien jusqu’à ce que Je vois le Père Me montrer premièrement une vision sur quoi faire, ensuite Je le fais.»

Where one lived in a hot country and the other a cold country, and--and like that--tempered and so forth, it changed their colors. That has nothing to do with the blood, or the soul, or anything else. God let her know that God seeks them that'll worship Him in spirit and in truth.

Ceci pourrait être très bien. C’est scripturaire. Certainement. «En Mon Nom, ils chasseront les démons.» Beaucoup de frères ont de pareils ministères, avec beaucoup plus de succès que le mien: Oral Roberts, par exemple. Vous voyez? Mon ministère n’a pas de succès aux Etats-Unis; il a du succès outre-mer, c’est donc là-bas que cela marche vraiment. J’ai vu trente mille purs païens venir à Christ après un seul appel à l’autel, après que quelque chose s’était produit sur l’estrade, en parlant juste à un seul, ils ont vu un miracle accompli. That could be all right. That's Scriptural. Certainly. "In My Name they shall cast out devils." Many brothers has ministries like that, far more success than mine: Oral Roberts, for instance. See? My ministry don't take in the United States; takes overseas, then it really goes then. I seen thirty thousand raw heathens come to Christ in one altar call, when something happened on the platform, just telling one, seeing a miracle performed. Thirty thousand blanket natives busted their idols on the ground and come to Christ in Durban, South Africa.

And if He does, then it'll give you faith; make you feel assured that He loves you, and He knows about you. And if He knows about you, He knows about everyone out there. So then, that just shows He's Present. So that would just make everybody accept Him and be well. Is that right? Or accept Him as their Saviour and be saved.
Now, if anybody can still hear me: I come to take every spirit in here in the Name of Jesus Christ. And this woman who knows now that something's going on...
