C’est vous frère Babbs, n’est-ce pas? Je vous ai reconnu aujourd’hui là où nous mangions, et quand nous avions fini, je–je promenais le regard là; je disais: «Ne sont-ce pas là mes amis d’El Dorado?» Je pense que c’est ça. El Dorado?
Et frère Jack a dit: «Assurément.» Alors, nous nous sommes mis à parler là, et puis, tout à coup, vous savez, on était parti; je n’ai pas eu à vous serrer la main. Que Dieu vous bénisse. It's just like I just got here, now it's saying the last night. Well, this has been the most unusual meeting that I have had in a long time.
You're Brother Babbs, aren't you? I recognized you today out there where we were eating, and when we got finished I--I was looking over there; I said, "Isn't that my friends from El Dorado?" I think that's right. El Dorado?
And Brother Jack said, "Sure is." And we got to talking there, and then the first thing you know you were gone; I didn't get to shake your hand. God bless you. [The brother says, "Brother Branham, you needed the food and the rest, not to be bothered by...?..."--Ed.] Oh, thank you, brother. Thank you. Brother Babbs from El Dorado, some Baptist... [Brother Babbs speaks again--Ed.] Yes. Yes, sir, I do. [Brother Babbs speaks again--Ed.] Isn't that wonderful?

E-2 Et je pense que vous avez deux jolies filles. Et je me rappelle que l’une d’elles s’était avancée un jour à l’estrade, elle était mariée depuis longtemps, elle n’avait pas d’enfant. Et quand elle est venue à l’estrade, le Saint-Esprit m’a fait retourner et a dit: «Vous cherchez un enfant et, AINSI DIT LE SEIGNEUR, vous l’aurez.»
J’étais là juste quelques heures avant qu’il naisse, et voilà, ça y est. Elle l’a eu. Quelqu’un m’a dit qu’elle en avait trois maintenant. Merveilleux! C’est... Il donne toujours une bonne mesure, vous savez. C’est très bien. Eh bien, c’est très bien. Je suis très content pour cela. J’ai... Je crois que c’est la Bible.
Une femme qui a assez de considération pour élever un enfant dans ces jours, alors qu’on fait tout le reste, on cherche à s’en débarrasser, je... Dieu honorera cela.
| E-2 And I believe you have two lovely daughters. And I remember one of them started on one day to the platform, and she'd been married a long time, and didn't have any children. And when she started up to the platform, the Holy Spirit turned me, and said, "You're seeking a child, and THUS SAITH THE LORD, you'll have it."
I was there just a few hours before it was born, and there it was. She had it. Somebody told me she has three now. Wonderful. That's... He always gives good measure, you know. That's very fine. Well, that's very fine. I'm so happy for that. I have... I believe that that's the Bible.
A woman that has the respects enough to raise a child in these days when they do everything else, and try to get rid of them I... God will respect that.

E-3 J’ai eu une dame là au Canada qui était... Je pense qu’elle a cinquante-trois ou cinquante-quatre ans. Elle était mariée depuis l’âge de dix-huit ans; elle n’avait pas d’enfants, et un soir... C’était pendant que frère Jack était avec moi. Alors, la dame s’est avancée, c’étaient des Allemands; j’oublie son nom pour l’instant, elle a dit... Elle est venue à l’estrade; le Saint-Esprit a dit: «Vous cherchez un enfant.» Oui. Elle avait dépassé l’âge, elle avait quarante et quelques, quarante-huit, quarante-sept, quarante-huit en ce moment-là.
Elle a dit: «C’est vrai.»
J’ai dit: «Eh bien, vous embrasserez un fils; AINSI DIT LE SEIGNEUR.»
Eh bien, observez toujours cela. Voyez? AINSI DIT LE SEIGNEUR; une chose, c’est une vision; c’est ce que je vois. Donc, ce que je Le vois faire, c’est une chose que je dise ce que je vois. La chose suivante, je dis ce qu’Il va faire. Voyez-vous? Ceci est ce que moi je dis, cela est ce que Lui dit. Voyez?
| E-3 I got a lady up in Canada that was... I believe she's fifty-three or fifty-four years old. She'd been married since she was about eighteen; they had no children, and one night... It was while Brother Jack was with me. And the lady came up; they're German people; I forget their name just now, and she said--come on the platform; the Holy Spirit said, "You're seeking for a baby." Yes. Passed the age, she was about forty something, forty-eight, forty-seven, forty-eight then.
Said, "That's right."
Said, "Well, you shall embrace a son; THUS SAITH THE LORD."
Now, always watch that. See? THUS SAITH THE LORD, one's a vision; that's what I'm seeing. Then what I see He does, that's one thing I'm saying what I'm looking at, the next thing I'm saying what He's going to do. You see? This is what I'm saying, that's what He's saying. See?

E-4 Environ deux ou trois ans s’écoulèrent, rien n’était arrivé. Elle s’est dit: «Eh bien, il y a quelque chose qui cloche.» Et elle s’est mise à douter.
Elle a dit: «Eh bien, frère Branham n’avait simplement pas bien vu la vision.» Oh! Si.
Donc, elle a dit, après trois ou quatre ans, elle a dit: «Je sais que je ne peux pas l’avoir maintenant.» Elle était déjà dans les cinquante ans ou plus.
Et alors, elle... Je parcourais la région du nord, le Yukon, lors d’une partie de chasse, je suis passé par là et on a eu une soirée de réunion dans un petit village, sur mon passage. Quand je suis arrivé dans cette ville où elle habitait, eh bien, je... Calgary, et je... Elle est venue à... Son mari était venu à la réunion, elle n’était pas venue.
| E-4 About two or three years passed and nothing happened. She thought, "Well, there's something wrong." And she got to doubting.
She said, "Well, Brother Branham just didn't see the vision right." Oh, yes.
So she said, after three or four years passed, and she said, "I know I can't have it now." She's done way up around fifty years old or better.
And so she... and I come through from up--up way up in Northern, the Yukon on a hunting trip, come by and had it one night's meeting in a little village I was coming by. When I come to this city where she lives, why, I... Calgary, and I... She came to... Her husband came to the meeting, she didn't come.

E-5 Et j’ai dit: «Où est la soeur?» Je n’avais pas de par-dessus, et il a donné... Il voulait me donner le sien, et je ne voulais pas le prendre. Il se tenait derrière; j’ai dit: «Où est la soeur?»
Il a dit: «Frère Branham, elle a contracté la tuberculose.»
Et j’ai dit: «Oh! la la!»
Et je me tenais là, je le regardais, et juste on dirait... Vous devez sympathiser avec les gens. Vous ne pouvez jamais aider quelqu’un si vous ne partagez pas cela avec lui. Vous–vous devez ressentir sa souffrance. Sinon, vous êtes juste... vous êtes juste à l’écart. Il vous faut éprouver de l’amour et quelque chose qui vous met en harmonie avec eux. Et cela m’avait vraiment fait mal d’apprendre qu’elle était tuberculeuse. J’ai regardé, j’ai dit: «En voici la cause: elle a douté au sujet de cet enfant.»
| E-5 And I said, "Where's sister?" And I didn't have any top coat, and he gave--wanted to give me his, and I wouldn't take it. And he's standing back; I said, "Where's sister?"
Said, "Brother Branham, she's broke down with TB."
And I said, "Oh, my."
And I stood and looked at him, and just kind of... You have to feel the people's feeling. You can never help anybody 'less you get right into it with them. You--you got to enter into their suffering. If you don't do it, you're just--your just out. You got to have a love and something that makes you just be right with them.
And that hurt me so bad to hear that she had tubercular. I looked; I said, "Here's what's caused it, she doubted about that baby."

E-6 Il a dit: «Frère Branham, c’est l’exacte vérité.»
J’ai dit: «Maintenant, elle suit une espèce d’isme sur boire des jus, et des choses semblables, ne pas manger de viande et ne pas...»
Il a dit: «C’est tout à fait vrai.»
J’ai dit: «C’est ce qui lui a causé la tuberculose. Son corps est sous alimenté.» J’ai dit: «Allez lui dire que j’ai dit: ‘AINSI DIT LE SEIGNEUR, ne doutez pas de cela.’ Peu m’importe qu’elle ait quatre-vingt-dix ans; elle aura néanmoins cet enfant.» Voyez?
| E-6 He said, "Brother Branham, that's exactly the truth."
I said, "Now, she's off in some sort of a isms about drinking juices, and things like that, and don't eat any meats, and don't..."
He said, "That's exactly right."
I said, "That's what broke her down in TB. Her body's undernourished." I said, "You go tell her that I said THUS SAITH THE LORD, don't doubt that. I don't care if she's ninety years old; she'll still have the baby." See?

E-7 Et alors, il est rentré lui en parler. Elle a jeté ses jus et elle a repris à manger normalement, elle a récupéré et elle a cru cela. Et puis, j’étais avec frère Fred Sothmann, il est quelque part ici. Nous étions... Fred, quel est le nom de ces gens-là? Dobble, et nous étions... Quelle était cette ville où... là loin au bout du monde? Prince Albert, là à Prince Albert.
Cette femme si âgée, elle allait avoir cet enfant, et les médecins se demandaient ce qui allait arriver, ils ne pensaient pas qu’elle pouvait l’avoir. Alors, pour témoigner de leur fidélité, et leurs pensées, ils l’ont mise à bord d’un train, dans une ambulance, ils l’ont amenée à la réunion pour voir ce que le Seigneur dirait. Le Seigneur a parlé et a dit: «Dites-lui de retourner; elle a un garçon qui vient.»
| E-7 And so he went back and told her. And she throwed away her juices, and started eating normally, and came back, and believed it. And then I was with Brother Fred Sothmann; he's here somewhere. We was... Fred, what was those people's name? Dobble, and we were... Where was that place where, way up there at the end of the world? Prince Albert, up at Prince Albert.
And this woman she was that old, and was going to have this baby, and the doctors was wondering what was going to take place, didn't think she could have it. So to show their faithfulness, and their thoughts, they put her on a train in an ambulance affair, and brought her up to that meeting to see what the Lord would say. The Lord spoke and said, "Tell her to return back; she has a boy coming."

E-8 Eh bien, à peine arrivée à la maison, elle a eu ce beau et gros garçon-là, et voilà, elle est là. Et fort... Elle était fort avancée dans la cinquantaine. Voyez-vous? Mais Il n’a jamais failli; quand Il dit quelque chose, ce sera exactement comme tel; absolument.
Je pensais... Est-ce que frère Welch Evans est ici? Frère Fred, est-il venu? Il n’est point venu. Je pensais il n’y a pas longtemps, juste pour vous montrer combien c’est facile, combien tendre est le Seigneur, combien–combien Il aime guérir...
Il... Nous pêchions à Floride; nous tenions une série de réunions en Géorgie, nous étions descendus en Floride pêcher pendant environ deux jours. Alors, ce monsieur Evans est un fervent chrétien, un aimable frère. Et son frère n’est pas un chrétien. Ainsi, il gérait un magasin d’appâts; et nous étions allés là dans une espèce de jungle, on devait dégager la route des serpents... des alligators, pour atteindre là où nous pouvions pêcher. Et son frère avait été mordu par un serpent à sonnette. Je ne sais pas... Je ne pense pas que vous en ayez en Louisiane; ce sont de tout petits coquins. Et ils sont très dangereux. Une fois qu’ils vous mordent, ils vous tuent. Ainsi donc... Ils sont pires que le mocassin d’eau.
| E-8 Well, she no more than got home till she got that fine big boy, and there she was. And way... She's way in her fifty's. You see? But He's never failed; when He says anything it'll be just that way: got to be.
I was thinking, is Brother Welch Evans here? Brother Fred, did he come? He never come. I was thinking here not long ago, just to show you how easy, how loving the Lord is, and how--how He loves to heal...
He... We were fishing down in Florida; we had a meeting down in Georgia, went on down to Florida to fish about two days. And this Mr. Evans is a staunch Christian, a lovely brother. And his brother is not a Christian, so he run a bait shop, and we went out in some kind of a jungle there where you had to rake snakes out of the way, and gators to get into where we could fish. And his brother had been bitten by a ground rattler. I don't know... I don't think you have them in Louisiana; they're little bitty rascals. And they're real bad. When they bite you, they kill you. And so... They're worse than the cottonmouth.

E-9 Et alors, ce jeune homme avait été mordu par l’un là-bas; c’était bien un pêcheur, et on l’avait envoyé à un hôpital. Et pendant environ trois mois, je pense, n’est-ce pas, Frère Fred, il est resté couché à l’hôpital. Il était là, marchant à l’aide d’un immense appareil orthopédique sous le pied, et on pensait qu’il perdrait sa jambe, s’il ne perdait pas sa vie. Et c’était très grave.
Eh bien, je... le Seigneur m’avait béni, et j’avais attrapé, oh! des perches communes, de très grosses, et j’en étais très content. Et j’en avais une grosse au bout de la ligne que je n’arrivais même pas à maîtriser. Et elle faisait juste... Elle a sauté, il vous fallait la maintenir avec une canne et elle rejetait l’appât de sa bouche en se débattant. Et je lançais cette petite capsule et il l’a ravalée pour la troisième fois. Eh bien, tout le monde jetait sa canne là et courait là. Et–et j’ai dit: «Je n’arrive simplement pas à le maîtriser.»
| E-9 And so this boy had been bitten by one out there; he's quite a fisherman, and they'd sent him to a hospital. And about three months, I believe, wasn't it, Brother Fred, he'd laid in the hospital? He was there and a great big brace under his leg walking around, and they thought he'd lose his leg, if he didn't lose his life. And it was very bad.
Well, I... The Lord had blessed me, and I'd caught, oh, the bass, great big ones, and I was so happy about it. And I had a big one on the line that I couldn't even hold him. And he would just... He'd jump, and you had to hold him up on a pole, and he'd shake the bait out of his mouth, and I'd throw that little popper back, and he got it the third time. Well, everybody throwed their pole down and run up there. And--and I said, "I just can't hold him."

E-10 Alors, je l’ai laissée se reposer un tout petit peu et j’ai encore essayé. Et je... Une autre, celle-là pesait douze, quatorze livres, [5 ou 6 kg] et celle-ci semblait en avoir dix, même onze [4,5 ou 5 kg]. Et je continuais à la retenir; j’ai dit: «Ce n’est pas elle.»
Mais quand je l’ai épuisée là, et que je l’ai ramenée vers le rivage, frère Evans là, le pantalon retroussé (il n’a peur de rien), il a alors dit: «Une minute, Frère Branham, il y a beaucoup de feuilles et tout, a-t-il dit; je vais vous la prendre.»
Et j’ai dit: «Eh bien, c’est en ordre.» J’ai dit: «Je la tirerai simplement, si elle échappe, ça nous importe peu.»
Alors, il a dit: «Je vais la prendre.»
| E-10 So I let him rest a little bit and tried it again. And I... Another one, that one would've weighed twelve, fourteen pounds, and this one looked about ten, eleven pounds. And I was holding him on; I said, "That's not him."
But when I got him played out, and was bringing him up to the shore, Brother Evans there with his trousers legs rolled up, he isn't afraid of anything. And so, he said, "Wait a minute, Brother Branham, lot of pads and things," Said, "I'll take him off for you."
And I said, "Well, that's all right." I said, "I'll just drag him in, if it gets off we don't care."
So he said, "I'll get him."

E-11 Il est du coup entré, et alors, un petit serpent à sonnette était couché sous l’une de ces feuilles, il l’a mordu juste au pied. Je n’avais jamais entendu un homme crier si fort de ma vie. Et quand, d’un bond, il est sorti de l’eau, il se tenait la jambe, il est tombé sur le rivage comme cela... Oh! Cela vous paralyse simplement en un instant. Je lui ai tenu le pied et j’ai regardé: les deux trous étaient distants d’environ un pouce [2,54 cm], et le sang giclait de là. J’ai pris mon fusil, j’ai cherché le serpent à sonnette, et je l’ai vu filer dans les mauvaises herbes comme cela, et je ne pouvais même pas lui tirer dessus, et il s’en est allé.
Et je me suis dit: «Oh! la la!» Et il n’y avait personne là avec moi à ce moment-là, mais... qui pouvait m’aider; le petit Billy Paul était là. Et il me fallait le transporter sur le dos sur environ deux miles [3.218 km] dans ces jungles-là, où il n’y avait que de l’eau, ça arrivait pratiquement au niveau des genoux, et lui pèse environ, presque deux cents livres [90,7 kg]; je savais donc que ça serait difficile pour moi de le faire sortir de là.
| E-11 He just stepped in, and about that time a little old ground rattler was laying under one of those pads, caught him right in the foot. I never heard a man scream so in my life. And when he jumped out the water, and grabbed his leg, and fell over on the banks like that... Oh, it just paralyzes you just in a moment. I grabbed his foot and looked, and just about an inch apart was two holes, and blood oozing out of them. I grabbed my gun, and looked for the rattler, and I seen him going down through the weeds like that, I couldn't even shoot him, and he was gone.
And I thought, "Oh, my." And nobody there was with me that time, but... that could help me; little Billy Paul was there. And I'd had to pack him on my back for about two miles through them jungles, and just water, and up almost sometimes pretty near over knee deep, and he weighs about, almost two hundred; so I knowed I'd be hard to pull him through that.

E-12 Je me suis alors dit: «Que pouvons-nous faire?» Et il serrait simplement les dents, retenant son souffle [Frère Branham produit un bruit.–N.D.E.], et les larmes lui coulaient sur les joues, et il a dit: «Frère Branham, ma jambe est paralysée.» Et cela va directement à l’os, vous savez, et... Il a dit: «Ma jambe est paralysée.» Et il serrait juste les dents comme cela. Il a dit: «On dirait que ça gèle partout.»
Alors, je me suis dit: «Oh! Miséricorde, que puis-je faire?»
Et juste à ce moment-là, j’ai entendu ce passage des Ecritures: «Ils marcheront sur les têtes des serpents et des scorpions, cela ne leur fera pas de mal.» Alors, j’ai juste enlevé mon chapeau, et j’ai dit: «Eh bien, essayez de vous tenir tout aussi tranquille que possible, Frère Welch, afin que je puisse poser mes mains sur cette morsure.» Et le Père céleste sait que c’est vrai.
| E-12 So I thought, "What can we do?" And he's just gritting his teeth, catching his breath going [Brother Branham makes a noise--Ed.], and the tears running down his checks, and he said, "Brother Branham, my leg is paralyzed."
It goes right straight to the bone, you know and... Said, "My leg is paralyzed." Just holding his teeth like that. Said, "It feels like it's froze all the way down through."
And I thought, "Oh, mercy what can I do?"
And just then I heard that Scripture, "They shall tread on the heads of serpents and scorpions. Nothing in no wise shall bother them."
So I just took off my hat, and I said, "Now, try to be just as easy as you can, Brother Welch, so I can hold my hands over this bite." And the heavenly Father knows it's true.

E-13 Et alors, quand j’ai posé la main sur son pied là, j’ai dit: «Père, Tu es un Secours qui ne manque jamais en temps de détresse, et Tu ne nous as jamais fait défaut. Notre frère est mordu par ce serpent, et il est écrit dans Ta Parole qu’ils marcheront sur les têtes des serpents et des scorpions, et que rien ne leur fera de mal. Et il est dit: s’ils saisissent un serpent, cela ne leur fera point de mal. Il cherchait à m’aider, et ce mauvais serpent l’a mordu. Maintenant, Tu es, Seigneur Jésus, sur ce rivage-ci où on est en train de pêcher. Si Tu ne L’étais pas, je n’irais jamais pêcher, et je sais que Tu es ici. Et je Te demande d’être miséricordieux envers nous et–et d’ôter de sa jambe le poison de ce serpent.» Et j’ai arrêté de prier, je ne l’ai plus entendu souffrir. Et quand j’ai terminé de prier, il était assis là en train de rire.
Et il a dit: «Frère Branham, je n’ai plus de douleur.» Il a dit: «Tout est fini.»
| E-13 And then when I put my hand upon his foot there, and I said, "Father, You are a very present Help in a time of trouble, and You never fail us. And our brother is bitten by this serpent, and it's written in Your Word that they shall tread on the heads of serpents and scorpions. And nothing shall harm them. And It says, if they take up a serpent, it shall not harm them. He was trying to help me, and this evil serpent grabbed him. Now, You're Lord, Jesus on this bank here a fishing. If You wasn't, I'd never go fishing, and I know You're here. And I ask You to be merciful to us, and--and take away this serpent poison from his leg." And I stopped praying, and I didn't hear him suffering anymore. And when I got through praying, he was setting there laughing.
And he said, "Brother Branham, I haven't got a pain." Said, "It's all gone."

E-14 Alors, il s’est levé et a marché. Vers vingt-trois heures, j’avais attrapé onze perches communes, des perches communes qui pesaient en moyenne pratiquement douze livres [5 kg] la pièce. Et je–et je les ai ramenées, et les gens passaient là en prendre des photos, dans une cour de touristes là. Alors, son frère est arrivé, nous nous sommes donc mis à témoigner là-dessus. Et son frère, un pécheur, a dit... lui avait été hospitalisé. Vous voyez, c’est bien d’être un chrétien. Voyez? Ceux qui croient marcheront sur les têtes des scorpions et des serpents, rien n’a été dit au sujet des incroyants. Voyez? Mais cet homme était incroyant.
Alors, son frère a dit... Et il lui a montré les endroits où... Il a dit: «Eh bien, regarde, frère, c’est bien d’être croyant, mais pas de faire le fou.» Il a dit: «Tu ferais mieux d’aller à l’hôpital aussi vite que possible.» Il a dit: «Fais-toi injecter un sérum, car sinon, a-t-il dit, tu pourras devenir estropié le reste de ta vie, et tu pourras mourir n’importe quand.»
| E-14 And he got up and walked around. About eleven o'clock that evening, I caught eleven bass that weighed, averaged nearly at twelve pounds a piece. And I--and I got them in, and they was coming around taking pictures of them in a tourist court there. And his brother came up, so we got to testifying about it. And his brother, a sinner said... had been in the hospital. You see, it's good to be a Christian. See? They that believe shall tread on the heads of scorpions and serpents, didn't say nothing about the unbeliever. See? But this man was a believer.
And his brother said... And he showed him the places there where... He said, "Now, look brother, it's good to be religious, but not good to be crazy."
He said, "You better get to the hospital just as quick as you can." Said, "And get some serum in you, because if you don't," He said, "you may be crippled the rest of your life, and you may die at any time."

E-15 Il a dit: «Cela est arrivé ce matin à dix heures (et on avait dépassé vingt-trois heures); si le sérum que Dieu m’a administré ce matin a arrêté la douleur jusqu’à présent, cela me préservera.» C’était donc... Cela pourrait...
Ainsi, cela tient toujours bon. Il y a de cela des mois, des mois et des mois, il n’y a pas eu d’effets néfastes. Juste pour montrer qu’Il est toujours le Seigneur Dieu. C’est très merveilleux. Je sais ceci... Je prends du temps, et nous n’aimerions pas rester trop longtemps ce soir. Je vais juste parler quelques instants.
Mais j’ai juste une autre requête que j’aimerais présenter. Une chose, avant de présenter cette requête très spéciale, comme peut-être l’année prochaine je vais passer beaucoup de temps outre-mer, le Seigneur voulant. En effet, je sens que si cette année-ci passe, et que je vis jusqu’à voir l’année prochaine, j’effectuerai mon voyage très bientôt donc. Et la semaine de Noël, c’est le moment où nous prions pour toutes les requêtes pour voir où le Seigneur nous conduira. Je me tiendrai probablement devant des sorciers et tout, comme d’habitude, chaque fois que nous allons outre-mer. Puis-je vous demander de prier pour moi?
| E-15 He said, "That happened this morning about ten o'clock, and this was after eleven tonight, if the serum God give me this morning to stop the pain has held this long, it'll keep me on." So was... It would...
So, it's still holding. That's been months, and months, and months ago, and no evil effect. Just to show that He is still the Lord God. So wonderful.
I know this... I'm taking time, and we don't want to stay too long tonight. I'm just going to speak for a few moments.
But I've just got one more request I'd like to ask. One thing, before I ask this very special request, if perhaps, this next year I'll be much overseas, the Lord willing. For I feel that if there is a this year, and I live to see it this coming year, I'll be making up my itinerary right away now. And Christmas week is when we pray over all the request and see where the Lord will lead us.
I'll probably be before witch doctors and everything, as usual, when we go overseas. Can I ask you to pray for me?

Meda a dit: «Qu’y a-t-il?»
J’ai dit: «J’ai vraiment envie de voir Shreveport.»
Elle a dit: «Eh bien, qu’y a-t-il?»
Et j’ai dit: «Meda, peut-être que quelque chose ne va pas là-bas; penses-tu que nous devrions appeler?»
| E-16 I want to say that this has been one of the most outstanding meetings that I've ever been in. The strangest thing happened. I love the people at Shreveport; I'm your associate pastor, you know. But I had not been here for about five years, and just going just as hard as I could go, day and night... And about two months ago I started... Shreveport come on my heart, and I just couldn't even rest day and night. And even brought till one day I was setting there thinking so hard about it, I started weeping.
Meda said, "What's the matter?"
I said, "I'm just so hungry to see Shreveport."
She said, "Well, what's the matter?"
And I said, "Meda, maybe something's wrong down there; think we should call?"

«Eh bien, a-t-elle dit, s’il était arrivé quelque chose, il t’aurait appelé.» Elle a dit: «Si tu te mets à appeler comme cela, cela pourrait les déranger, pensant que quelque chose va arriver.» Alors, elle a dit: «Pourquoi ne laisses-tu pas simplement cela de côté?»
J’ai dit: «Eh bien, je n’arrive simplement pas à arrêter de prier de toute façon; je me sens vraiment solitaire.»
Et j’ai rencontré frère Jack, il a dit: «Eh bien, nous nous sentons solitaires sans toi.» Et la chose suivante, vous savez, soeur Moore était sur sa face, pendant un long moment, priant, et Dieu lui a montré cette réunion qui va venir.

And you was on your road there, and how you got out and prayed, and different things, and how things that He's done?" Said, "Has He showed you anything?"
I said, "No."
"Well," said, "if there's anything happened, they'd call you." Said, "If you go calling like that, it might upset them, and think that something's going to happen." So she said, "Why don't you just leave it alone?"
I said, "Well, I just can't keep from praying somehow; I just get so lonesome."
And I met Brother Jack, and he said, "Well, we're getting lonesome to see you." And the first thing you know, Sister Moore had been on her face, for a long time praying, and God had showed her this coming meeting.

Je suis certainement content d’avoir eu à venir. Ça a été une chose remarquable pour moi, comment le Seigneur a béni les soirées et a accompli de grandes choses.
| E-18 Then I'd already made arrangements with some Baptist people for the--the time. And when Brother Moore said it was this time, I went down and asked them. And it's the pastor, or the church, that I used to pastor at Milltown, Indiana, in a Milltown Baptist church. They sure never won't to give that annually thing up on Thanksgiving.
But I said, "Brethren, the Lord is leading me to Shreveport. Why, I don't know, but I must go to Shreveport."
They said, "Well, if that's the case, go ahead, and the Lord be with you."
I'm sure glad that I got to come. Been an outstanding thing to me, how the Lord has blessed nightly, and has done great things.

But the Holy Spirit had them people out here walking out here before me, and that's the reason I knowed they were colored, colored people.
Someone said, "Now, how could you see them up in there?"

| E-23 Monday night will be on the Ephesus church, and then Smyrna, Sardis, and on down to Thyatira, on down to the Sunday morning a week, I'll be speaking on the Laodicean church. And in between there, how that there's an open door set between the Philadelphian and the Laodicean Church Age. And that's the door we want to speak of at--on that service.
Now, the Lord bless, and you be praying for me. Now, before we approach the great Word, the Word of God, the infallible Word... My faith is built solemnly upon this Word. When this Word says it then I--I just believe It. I--I don't try to add anything to It, or take anything away from It.
And this morning I--I might have to apologize to these--some of these fine people here about some of those rude remarks about mules being illegitimate. But I--I didn't mean to be rude or sacrilegious, but I was just trying to make a point. You understand, don't you?

E-24 N’importe quoi, un mulet... Oh! la la! C’est ce que l’homme a fait. Voyez? Il ne peut pas–il ne peut pas se reproduire. Il–il ne peut pas aller plus loin. Il–il attendra simplement toute sa vie, en retrait, attendant simplement. «Eh bien, je vous aurai un jour derrière moi.» Et c’est comme ça avec beaucoup de gens dans l’église. C’est vrai.
«Oh! Je vais vous tapoter dans le dos jusqu’à ce que j’aie l’occasion de vous égorger.» Voyez?
Mais, vous savez, j’aime un cheval, pas vous? Oh! Surtout un cheval pur-sang, un qui–qui connaît ses–ses ancêtres, qui ils sont, d’où ils sont venus, de quel papa, de quelle maman, de quel grand-papa, de quel arrière grand-papa, de quel arrière-arrière-grand-papa, sur toute la ligne. Il connaît sa lignée. Vous pouvez lui faire confiance.
| E-24 Anything a mule... Oh, my. That's what man did. See? He can't--he can't come back. He--he can't go no farther. He--He don't know who his papa, mama is, he's just--he's just--he's just without hope; that's all--that's all. He--he can never reproduce himself again, so he's just... But you know, if anything he doesn't have no... He will wait all of his lifetime to get to kick you just before he dies, and kill you, if he can. He will sure do it. He--he will just wait all of his lifetime, laying back just waiting, "Now, I'll get you around behind me someday." And that's just the way a lot of people in church is like that. That's right.
"Oh, I'll pat you on the back till I get a chance to cut your throat." See?
But you know, I like a horse, don't you? oh, especially a pedigreed horse, one that--that knows his--his ancestors, who they are, where they come from, from papa, mama, grand papa, great-grand papa, great-great-grand papa, on way back. He knows his line of blood. You can put some confidence in him.

E-25 C’est pareil avec le–avec le chrétien. C’est un... j’aime un chrétien pur-sang, un chrétien né du Saint-Esprit, pas d’un quelconque credo, mais celui qui sait de quel sang il provient. Il est authentique, pur-sang, de la Pentecôte d’un bout à l’autre, né du Saint-Esprit, son expérience remonte à la Pentecôte. J’aime ça, un chrétien pur-sang. Il sait d’où il vient. Il sait qui est son papa, qui est sa maman, Qui est son Sauveur, Qui est son Dieu. Amen. Un vrai chrétien pur-sang, j’aime ça.
Ainsi donc, c’est ça la différence. Un mulet, il ne le sait pas; il dresse simplement ses oreilles, et il ne peut rien apprendre, il ne sait rien, et c’est une créature, évidemment.
Eh bien, aimez-vous la Parole du Seigneur? Oh! la la! C’est merveilleux.
| E-25 That's the way it is with the--with the Christian. It's a... I like a pedigreed Christian, a Holy Ghost born Christian, not out of some creed, but he knows what blood stream he's from. He's genuine, pedigreed, Pentecostal throughout, born of the Holy Ghost, all the way back to Pentecost his experience. I like that, a pedigreed Christian. He knows where he come from. He knows who his papa is, who his mama is, Who his Saviour is, and Who his God is. Amen. A real pedigreed Christian, I like that.
And so, that's the difference. A mule, he doesn't know; he just sticks his ears out, and cannot learn nothing, knows nothing, and he's a critter all right.
Now, do you love the Word of the Lord? Oh, my. It's wonderful.

Il leur répondit: Une génération méchante et adultère demande un miracle; il ne lui sera donné d’autre miracle que celui du prophète Jonas.
Car, de même que Jonas fut trois jours et trois nuits dans le ventre d’un grand poisson, de même le Fils de l’homme sera trois jours et trois nuits dans le sein de la terre.
Les hommes de Ninive se lèveront, au jour du jugement, avec cette génération et la condamneront, parce qu’ils se repentirent à la prédication de Jonas; et voici, il y a ici plus que Jonas.
La reine du Midi se lèvera, au jour du jugement, avec cette génération et la condamnera, parce qu’elle vint des extrémités de la terre pour entendre la sagesse de Salomon, et voici, il y a ici plus que Salomon.
Inclinons maintenant la tête, pendant que nous parlons à l’Auteur.
| E-26 Now, I'm going to speak tonight on Divine healing, the Lord willing, a little along that line. But let's turn now, to Matthew the 12th chapter for a little text, and then from this draw a context, the Lord willing. Matthew the 12th chapter, and now let's start reading at the 38th verse of Matthew the 12th chapter. To you who are taking down the text, as many times people in meetings do, they take the text down, and--and keep it kind of in their mind then, when they get the tapes they rehearse it, and so forth.
Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.
But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall be no sign given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:
For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the belly of the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold a greater than Jonas is here.
The queen of the south shall rise in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.

E-27 Bienveillant Seigneur, ces Paroles ont été transcrites par le scribe Matthieu. C’est Ta propre Parole. Et nous savons que Ta Parole est Vie. Elle est une condamnation pour l’incroyant, et la Vie pour le croyant.
Nous prions, Seigneur, s’il y a des incroyants, qu’ils deviennent des croyants ce soir. S’il y a des malades, qu’ils soient guéris. S’il y en a qui sont mécontents, qu’ils soient heureux. Ceux qui sont sans joie, que la joie coule de leurs puits, que l’amour de Dieu plâtre ce puits une fois de plus et qu’une pluie de Dieu s’y déverse. Accorde-le, Seigneur. Pardonne-nous nos offenses comme nous avons pardonné à ceux qui nous ont offensés. Et nous Te demandons, Seigneur, de nous recevoir comme Tes serviteurs.
Et nous Te prions de nous accorder un grand apogée pendant ces quelques jours de conférence et de réunions ici. Combien nous Te remercions pour ce qui a été déjà fait.

We pray, Lord, if there be any unbelievers, that they will become believers tonight. If there is any sick, may they be healed. If there's any weary, may they be made happy. With no joy, joy all run out of their wells, may the love of God plaster up that well again, and a rain of God pour into it. Grant it, Lord. Forgive us of our trespasses as we have forgive those whose has trespassed against us. And we would ask, Lord, that You would receive us as Your servants.
And we pray that You'll give us a great climax to this few days of conference and meetings here. How we thank You for what's already been done.

E-28 Et maintenant, nous demandons qu’il n’y reste aucune personne faible parmi nous, faible spirituellement, ou faible physiquement. Que la puissance qui a ressuscité Jésus-Christ de la tombe entre dans chaque coeur ce soir, délivre du péché et de l’incrédulité, délivre de la maladie et de l’affliction. Je crois que cette réunion a été ordonnée de Toi. Et je crois qu’il se produira dans cette réunion des choses que nous ne comprendrons cependant pas, mais dans les jours à venir, nous verrons que cette réunion a été tenue grâce à la multiple sagesse de Dieu. Les missionnaires qui partiront d’ici, sois avec eux, Seigneur. Les appels ont été lancés aux gens; de grands signes et de grands prodiges du Seigneur ressuscité ont été accomplis. Les esprits qui étaient dans le passé sur des hommes que Tu avais utilisés se sont manifestés parmi nous, surtout le Saint-Esprit.

May the power that raised Jesus Christ from the grave, come into every heart tonight, give deliverance from sin and unbelief, give deliverance from sickness and affliction. And may we lay ever little aught to aside, look straight to Calvary now, and receive God's blessings.
I believe that this meeting was ordained of You. And I believe that things will come from this meeting that we do not understand as yet, but in the days that is to come, that we will see that this meeting was brought by the manifold wisdom of God. Missionaries will be leaving from here, be with them, Lord. Calls has been given to people; great signs and wonders of the risen Lord has been done. Spirits that were on men in the days gone by that you have used has manifested themself among us, especially the Holy Ghost.

Oui, c’est un sujet un peu court; c’est vrai, mais il est tiré de la Bible, c’est ce qui le rend valable. Voyez, ce n’est pas sa taille qui compte, c’est sa qualité. Pas la quantité, la qualité.
| E-29 Father, we pray that You'll bless Brother Moore, Sister Moore, and all that's connected with this tabernacle. Guide and direct them. Every minister, missionary, or what in this building tonight, or has been in here, may they have received something that will inspire them to move on swiftly, for the hour is approaching.
Then the time will come where there will be no more work that we can do, soon it will be cut off from us, as we see the fruit a dwindling, the vine being purged. I pray, Father, that You will grant these blessings through Jesus Christ our Lord; we ask it in His Name. Amen.

Yes, it's kind of a small text; that is true. But it's out of the Bible that's what makes it good. See, it isn't the size of it; it's the quality of it. Not the quantity, it's quality.

| E-30 As I've often said, a little friend one time searching in an attic got in an old trunk, and found a little postage stamp that, and he thought he'd get a nickel out of it for ice cream. Now, as far as the paper, it wasn't worth nothing, but it's what was on the paper that means.

| E-31 Now, the queen of the south is just five words, and it isn't the paper it's written on; it's the value of the word that's written on the paper. The whole Bible was give to be by Brother Kidd many years ago. And a Bible would probably cost about twenty-five dollars, a Scofield Bible. But it's... This here will expel either Life or death to us. And in that is a pardon for every man that will hear it. And it's a condemnation to those who does not hear it.
One time the great Abraham Lincoln was called to a act. A man was sentenced to death to die under a firing squad for a military desertment or something. He'd what they called "run over the hill," or done some military offense, and he was sentenced to die. And the man was just nervous and afraid, and he was sentenced though by some cruel generals, or something that he was to die.

E-32 Un bon ami à lui s’est précipité chez monsieur Lincoln. | E-32 A good friend of his rushed to Mr. Lincoln. And as he was going from his carriage into his room, he told him, "This man is a good man; he's even a Christian man. And he--he... Mr. Lincoln, you are a Christian, and he's going to die. He's going to die tomorrow morning before a firing squad. Sir, you being a Christian, and know this man's condition. He didn't mean to violate any laws; he was afraid when he got in battle. You're the only one that can save him."
Mr. Lincoln just jerked up a piece of paper, and wrote on there, "Pardoned. Abraham Lincoln," sent it back.
And so when he come to the prison cells where his friend was waiting, he said, "Oh, thanks be to God. You are pardoned. Mr. Lincoln pardoned you."

C’est comme avec la Parole de Dieu. C’est la guérison pour ceux qui peuvent la recevoir comme guérison, mais elle n’est pas la guérison pour ceux qui ne peuvent pas la recevoir comme guérison. C’est le pardon du péché pour ceux qui croient qu’ils sont pardonnés du péché, mais cela ne fera aucun bien à ceux qui ne reçoivent pas cela comme tel.
| E-33 So, he looks around; he looks at the paper; he said, "Why would you make fun of me now, when I'm fixing to die under a firing squad?" Said, "That isn't Abraham Lincoln." Said, "That isn't his--his signature. If I had a pardon from Abraham Lincoln," said, "it would, why, it would be written, and sealed, and everything." He said, "No, that ain't on the right kind of paper." Said, "I--I won't receive that."
The next morning the man died as it was sentenced to die. Now, here this man holds a pardon by Abraham Lincoln not to shoot him, and then he was shot. It was tried in Federal Courts, and here was their decision: A pardon is not a pardon unless it be received as a pardon.
That's the Word of God. It's healing to those who can receive it as healing, but not healing to those who cannot receive it as healing. It's a pardon of sin to those who believe that they are forgiven of sin, but it's no good to those who won't receive it that way.

E-34 La promesse du Saint-Esprit est une assurance pour vous, que vous recevrez Cela, si vous acceptez cela comme tel. Cela dépend de votre attitude vis-à-vis de la Parole. La Parole est le... Ce n’est pas le papier. C’est juste un Livre, mais c’est–c’est Christ rendu manifeste sur du papier. C’est ce que cela est. Nous recevons Sa Parole juste comme si c’était Lui-même. Quand je vois Sa promesse envers moi, c’est Christ; je L’embrasse. Il ne peut pas mentir. Pour–pour moi, c’est l’exacte vérité. Voyez? Je peux ne pas savoir comment m’emparer de Cela, mais c’est la Vérité, et je m’Y accroche bien, parce que C’est Christ pour moi.
| E-34 The promise of the Holy Ghost is an assurance to you that you'll get It if you receive it that way. It depends on your attitude towards the Word. The Word is the--not the paper; it's just a Book, but it's--it's Christ made manifest on paper. That's what it is. God... "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God, and the Word was made flesh, and dwelled among us." See? And His Word's are Spirit and Life.
We just receive His Word just like it was He Himself. When I see His promise to me, that's Christ; I embrace It. He can't lie. To---to me that's exactly the truth. See? I might not know how to take a hold of It, but It's the Truth, and I hold right with It because It's Christ to me.

E-35 Dans notre passage des Ecritures de ce soir, nous trouvons Jésus reprochant et réprimandant un groupe de gens qui avaient refusé de croire qu’Il était le Messie. Malgré qu’Il ait accompli plusieurs signes messianiques parmi les gens, ceux-ci L’avaient taxé, juste deux versets plus haut, de Béelzébul... Et Il a dit: «Si vous Me taxez de mauvais nom, Je vais vous pardonner. Vous Me voyez faire...»
Permettez-moi d’interpréter ceci de sorte que vous saisissiez ce que je veux dire. «Vous Me taxez... Après que Je vous ai montré les oeuvres de Dieu, vous Me taxez de Béelzébul.» Eh bien, Béelzébul, c’est comme un diseur de bonne aventure, un démon. «Vous Me taxez de Béelzébul; Je vous pardonnerai pour cela.» Voyez? «Mais un jour, le Saint-Esprit viendra faire la même chose, et vous parlez en mal contre Cela, cela ne vous sera jamais pardonné ni dans ce siècle, ni dans le siècle à venir.» Voilà la gravité de ce que nous connaissons aujourd’hui.
Oh! ...?... Et Il les a réprimandés parce qu’ils ne L’avaient pas reçu, après qu’Il eut accompli les oeuvres de Dieu et qu’Il eut montré qu’Il était le Messie. Eh bien, s’Il a prononcé ces Paroles-là, Elles sont absolument la Vérité.
| E-35 In our text tonight we find Jesus upbraiding and rebuking a bunch of people who had refused to believe that He was the Messiah. Though He had done many Messiahic signs among the people, and they had called Him just a previous two verse behind this, Beelzebub... And He said, "If you call Me an evil name, I'll forgive you. You see Me do..."
Let me kinda interpret this a way so you'll get what I mean. "You call Me... When I show you the works of God, you call Me Beelzebub." Now, Beelzebub is like a fortuneteller, a devil. "You call me Beelzebub; I'll forgive you for that." See? "But someday the Holy Ghost is coming to do the same thing, and you speak against That, it'll never be forgiven in this world, or neither in the world that is to come." There's the seriousness of what we're going through with today.
Oh...?... and He upbraided them because they had not received Him, and after He had done the works of God, and showed that He was the Messiah. Now, if He spoke those words, they are absolutely the truth.

E-36 Alors, en ce jour dans lequel nous vivons, où le Saint-Esprit est venu et a accompli les mêmes oeuvres à plusieurs reprises, voyez-vous où nous nous tenons ce soir? C’est–c’est une chose horrible de penser que les gens aujourd’hui taxeront encore l’oeuvre de Dieu du diable. Et Jésus le leur reprochait.
Eh bien, si nous retournons un peu dans la Bible, nous verrons que Dieu, dans tous les âges, en tout temps, a eu des dons dans Son église. Il n’y a jamais eu un temps, mais que Dieu... Quand Il entre dans Son Eglise, des choses surnaturelles s’accomplissent.
Je sais que je parle à des historiens. Frère Moore lui-même en est un bon autant que je sache. Et chaque fois que l’église a eu un réveil, il y a toujours eu le signe du surnaturel dans la réunion. Dieu guérit les malades, parle en langues, accomplit d’autres miracles et signes, chaque fois qu’on a donc eu un réveil. Et même avant la Venue de Christ, chaque fois que Dieu envoyait un surnaturel, ou un mouvement parmi les gens, il y avait parmi eux des signes du surnaturel.
| E-36 Then in this day that we live in, where the Holy Spirit has come, and is doing the same works over again, you see where we stand tonight? It's--it's a horrible thing to think that people today will still call the work of God the devil. And Jesus was upbraiding them.
Now, if we'll go back a little bit in the Bible, we'll find out that God in all ages at all times has had gifts in His church. There never has been a time but what God... When He comes into His church supernatural things take place.
I know I'm speaking to historians. Brother Moore is one as good as I ever knowed of, hisself. And any time that the church ever had a revival, always the sign of supernatural is in the meeting. God heals the sick, speaks with tongues, and does other miracles and signs, every time they've ever had a revival. And even previous to the coming of Christ, every time that God sent a supernatural, or a move among the people, the signs of supernatural was among them.

E-37 Ainsi, vous voyez, nous sommes évangéliques. Nous croyons, nous croyons absolument que Dieu habite dans Son Eglise et dans Son peuple. Nous croyons cela. Il manifeste le signe de joie et de puissance du Roi dans le camp. Ainsi, au cours des âges, on a eu toutes sortes de signes. Il a parlé de certains d’entre eux ici. L’un d’eux, Il a dit: «Ce qui arriva du temps de Jonas», il l’a appelé Jonas.
Or, beaucoup de gens condamnent le pauvre Jonas. Jonas était un prophète. Mais j’ai toujours eu pitié de lui, car beaucoup aujourd’hui le condamnent et disent qu’il était en dehors de la volonté du Seigneur. Je vais donc prendre position pour Jonas et dire qu’il n’était pas en dehors de la volonté du Seigneur. Je... Suivez et voyez donc; nous allons prendre sa vie pendant quelques instants et l’examiner.
| E-37 So you see we're evangelical. We believe, we absolutely believe that God lives in His church and in His people. We believe that. And He shows the sign of the joy and power of the King in the camp. So through the ages they'd had all kinds of signs. And He referred to some of them here. One of them He said, "As it was in Jonas' time," called him Jonah.
Now, many people condemns poor old Jonah. And Jonah was a prophet. But I always felt sorry for him, because so many in this day condemn Jonah, and say he was out of the will of the Lord. So I'm going to take up for Jonah and say he wasn't out of the will of the Lord. I... You watch and see now; we're going to take his life for a few moments and examine it.

| E-38 Jonah was on his way to--to Nineveh, of course. And the Bible says that the footsteps of the righteous is ordered of the Lord. Then Jonah could not have done anything, being a prophet, without God leading him.
I've done things myself, and so have you. You thought it was silly to really what you thought was right, but come to find out it was just exactly right. See? God always does that, because He leads the righteous. You just go the way the Spirit leads.
And Jonah got in trouble out on the sea, and we know how the story goes, that he was tied hands and foot, and throwed out of the ship; and a fish come along, and picked him up, as we call the whale. And he went down in the bottom of the sea after eating Jonah, or swallowing him up. And he got down in the bottom of the sea, and so they...

E-39 C’est une histoire qui confond toujours la science, car la science dit que la gorge du grand poisson n’est pas assez grande pour faire passer un homme. Mais si vous remarquez bien, la Bible dit que celui-là avait été préparé par Dieu. C’était un genre spécial de–de poisson. Dieu... Il est Jéhovah-Jiré; Il peut se pourvoir de tout ce qu’Il veut faire, car Il est Dieu. Abraham L’a appelé Jéhovah-Jiré, car Il a créé le sacrifice par la Parole. Il est toujours Jéhovah-Jiré; Il peut pourvoir à ce qu’Il veut. Alors, Il avait préparé ce poisson.
Une fois, une petite fille était heureuse, alors qu’elle revenait de l’église avec sa Bible, elle allait de l’avant; un incroyant l’a rencontrée et a dit: «De quoi es-tu si heureuse?»
Elle a dit: «Je viens d’être sauvée; Jésus est dans mon coeur.»
Il a dit: «Non-sens.» Il a dit: «Que tiens-tu là, une Bible?»
Elle a dit: «Oui.»
Il a dit: «Je pense que tu crois cette histoire de la baleine et de Jonas.»
Elle a dit: «Oh! Oui, je la crois, chaque mot. Ce que Dieu dit est la Vérité.»
Il a dit: «Eh bien, comment vas-tu le prouver autrement que par la foi?»
Elle a dit: «Quand j’arriverai au Ciel, je demanderai à Jonas.» C’est bien.
Il a dit: «Et si alors Jonas n’est pas là?»
Elle a dit: «Alors, c’est toi qui le lui demanderas.» Ça en est une bonne, n’est-ce pas? «C’est toi qui le lui demanderas.» D’accord.
| E-39 That's a story that always baffles science, 'cause science says that the whale's swallow isn't big enough to take a man in. But if you notice the Bible said that God prepared this one. This was a special kind of a--a fish. God... He's Jehovah-jireh; He can provide anything He wants to do, because He's God.
Abraham called him Jehovah-jireh, 'cause He spoke that sacrifice into existence. He's still Jehovah-jireh; He can provide what He wishes. And He prepared this fish.
A little girl, happy one time coming from church with her Bible, she was going on; the infidel met her and said, "What you so happy about?"
Said, "I just got saved; Jesus is in my heart."
Said, "Nonsense." Said, "What you holding there, a Bible?"
Said, "Yes."
Said, "I guess you believe that story about the whale and Jonah."
Said, "Oh, yes, I believe it, every word. What God says is the Truth."
He said, "Well, how are you going to prove it, otherwise than faith?"
She said, "When I get to heaven I will ask Jonah."
That's right. He said, "Then what if Jonah isn't there?"
Said, "Then you ask him." That's a good idea of it? "You ask him." All right.

E-40 Dieu a toujours la réponse, si seulement vous ouvrez la bouche quand Il l’ouvre. Dieu avait préparé un poisson spécial pour Jonas, et il l’a englouti. Je crois cela, chaque mot de cela.
Et il est descendu dans la mer. Et un poisson, après s’être nourri... Nourrissez votre petit poisson rouge, vous le verrez descendre directement au fond, reposer ses petites nageoires au fond de l’aquarium. En avez-vous déjà nourris? Remplissez son petit ventre, il va directement se reposer au fond de l’aquarium. C’est ce que fait un poisson. Après être sorti se nourrir, il retourne directement dans son repaire et se repose.
Eh bien, ce grand poisson avait englouti ce prophète, il est descendu au fond de la mer se reposer. Et Jonas était là, se vautrant dans les vomissures, là au fond de la mer. J’ai toujours pensé... Les gens disent: «Eh bien, mon bras ne va pas mieux, et mon–mon pied ne va pas mieux; je ne me sens pas mieux.»
Vous ne vous sentirez jamais mieux en regardant cela; vous regardez vos symptômes. Tant que vous regardez vos symptômes, vous ne verrez que vos symptômes. Ça dépend de ce que vous regardez.
| E-40 God always has the answer, if you'll just open your mouth when He opens it. God made a special fish for Jonah, and he swallowed him. I believe it, every word of it.
And he went down into the sea, and a fish when it feeds... Feed your little gold fish; you'll notice him he goes right down to the bottom, rest his little swimmers on the bottom of the fish bowl. Did you ever feed him? Get his little belly full, he go right down rest at the bottom of the fish bowl. A fish does that. After he goes out and feeds, he comes right back over the nest and rests.
Well, this whale had swallowed this prophet went down to the bottom of the sea to rest. And here was Jonah wallowing around in that vomit down there in the bottom of the sea. And I always thought... People'd say, "Why, my arm is no better, and my--my foot's no better; I don't feel any better."
You'll never feel any better looking at that; you're looking at your symptoms. Long as you look at your symptoms, you're not going to see nothing else but your symptoms. It depends on what you're looking at.

E-41 Eh bien, considérez Jonas. Eh bien, il était dans cette situation critique. Il n’y a personne ici, dans ce tabernacle, qui soit dans une situation aussi mauvaise ce soir. Lui était dans le ventre d’un grand poisson. S’il regardait de ce côté-ci, il y avait le ventre du grand poisson; partout où il regardait, il y avait le ventre du grand poisson. Et il a dit: «Ce sont des vanités mensongères. Je verrai encore une fois ton saint temple.»
En effet, il savait que quand Salomon consacrait ce temple-là, eh bien, il avait prié, disant: «Seigneur, si Ton peuple se retrouve quelque part en difficulté, qu’il tourne le regard vers ce saint temple et prie, alors exauce du haut des cieux.» Et il croyait que la prière de Salomon était exaucée.
Alors, Dieu a fait que ce poisson malade fasse demi-tour et fasse débarquer Jonas. Or, si Jonas, dans ces circonstances-là, a pu regarder un temple construit par un homme, Salomon, qui plus tard rétrograda, un temple terrestre, et une prière offerte par un homme ordinaire, et si Dieu a pu accomplir un tel miracle pour lui, à combien plus forte raison le fera-t-Il pour vous et moi quand nous refuserons de regarder notre état. Je verrai encore le saint Temple où Jésus est assis à la droite de la Majesté divine au Ciel, intercédant sur base de notre confession. Amen.
Comment pouvons-nous regarder un symptôme? Je regarde Jésus. Non pas ce à quoi–non pas ce à quoi ceci ressemble, mais ce que Cela a dit. Regardez le Calvaire; regardez le prix qui a été payé. Quelqu’un est venu et il a dit: «Je suis trop vil, Frère Branham, Dieu ne m’a jamais sauvé.» Ne considérez pas combien vous êtes mauvais; considérez combien Lui est bon. Ne regardez jamais à vous-même; regardez à Lui. Le sacrificateur ne voyait jamais celui pour qui le sacrifice était offert.
| E-41 Now, look at Jonah. Now, he was in a critical shape. There's no body here in this tabernacle that bad off tonight. He was in the belly of a whale. If he looked this way it was a whale's belly; everywhere he looked it was a whale's belly. And he said, "They are lying vanities. Once more will I look to Your holy temple."
For he knowed that when Solomon dedicated that temple, why, he prayed and said, "Lord, if Thy people be in trouble anywhere, and looked towards this holy temple, and pray, then You hear from heaven." And he believed the prayer of Solomon would be answered.
So God made that sick fish turn right around and take Jonah to the landing. Now, if Jonah, under those circumstances could look to a temple that was built by a man, Solomon, that later backslid, a earthly temple, and a prayer of an ordinary man, and God could do a miracle like that for him, how much more can He do for you and I when we refuse to look at our condition. And once more will I look to the holy temple where Jesus sets at the right hand of the Majesty on high making intercession upon our confession. Amen.
How can we look at a symptom? I look at Jesus. Not what--not what this looks like, but what that said. Look at Calvary; look what a price was paid for. Person come said, "I'm too low down, Brother Branham; God never saved me." Don't look how bad you are; look how good He is. Don't never look at yourself; look at Him. The priest never did see the--the--the one that the sacrifice was made for.

E-42 Comme frère Bosworth avait l’habitude de dire au sujet de son petit mulet, il disait: «Un mulet qui naissait avec des oreilles rabattues, une queue pointue, des jambes arquées, et des yeux louches, disait-il, eh bien, s’il pouvait parler, il dirait: ‘Eh bien, quand ils sortiront, ils vont m’asséner un coup à la tête, car... ils ne vont pas me nourrir; je ne mérite pas d’être nourri.»
Mais si sa maman était bien instruite, elle dirait: «Fils, tu n’as pas à t’inquiéter; tu as le droit d’aînesse. Il y aura un agneau sans défaut qui va mourir pour toi afin que toi, tu vives.» C’est tout à fait vrai.
Le sacrificateur ne voyait jamais le mulet. Il n’examinait pas le mulet; il examinait l’agneau. Pas question de défaut sur le mulet, le défaut, s’il n’y en avait aucun sur l’agneau. Alors, si vous ne pouvez pas trouver de défaut en Lui, pourquoi alors vous inquiéter? Ce n’est pas vous; c’est Lui. Dieu ne vous regarde pas; Il Le regarde, Lui. Voyez-vous cela? Voyez-vous cela, soeur? Voyez-vous cela, frère assis ici? Voyez-vous cela?
Ce n’est pas vous qu’Il regarde; Il regarde Christ. C’est le Sacrifice. Il regarde le Sacrifice.
| E-42 As Brother Bosworth used to say about his little mule, said, "A mule would be borned, and his ears was dropped down, and his tail sticking up, and his knees bowed, and his eyes crossed," said, "well, if he could talk he'd say, 'Well when they come out, they'll knock me in the head, because... They won't feed me; I ain't worth feeding.'"
But if his mammy was well instructed, she'd say, "Son, you don't have to worry; you were born under a birthright. There'll have to be a lamb without a blemish die for you so that you can live." And that's exactly right.
The priest never saw the mule. He didn't examine the mule; he examined the lamb. Not the blemish on the mule, the blemish, if there any blemish on the lamb. So if you can't find any blemish on Him, what you worried about then? It's not you; it's Him. God don't look at you; He looks at Him. You see it? See it, sister? Do you see it, brother, setting here? You see it?
It's not you He's looking at; He's looking at Christ. That's the Sacrifice. He looks at the Sacrifice.

E-43 Alors, Jonas, pour continuer avec lui, nous voyons que les gens de Ninive étaient très mauvais. J’ai appris qu’ils étaient des idolâtres, et qu’ils adoraient des animaux. Et le dieu de la mer était le grand poisson; et leur occupation, c’était la pêche.
Alors, comme tous les hommes se livraient à leur travail ce matin-là, cette ville de la dimension de Saint Louis, à peu près, ils étaient allés à la mer avec leurs barques. Voici venir le dieu de la mer, accostant, il a tiré sa langue en guise de passerelle, et un prophète est sorti de sa bouche, en marchant. Il n’est pas étonnant qu’ils se soient repentis. Voyez? Oui. Assurément. Ils se sont repentis parce que leur dieu avait fait sortir un prophète par un signe surnaturel. Amen. Il n’est pas étonnant qu’il ait dit qu’ils condamneront cette génération, les gens du temps de Noé... du temps de Jonas.
| E-43 So Jonah, to continue with him, we notice that the people of Nineveh was very wicked. I'm told they were idolaters, and they worshipped animals. And the God of the sea was the whale, and their occupation was fishing.
So when all the men went to work that morning, the city the size of Saint Louis about, went out into the sea with their boats. Here come the sea god rolling in to the bank, licked out his tongue for a gangplank, here come the prophet walking right out of his mouth. No wonder they repented. See? Yes. Sure. They repented because their god had put forth a prophet by a supernatural sign. Amen. No wonder he said he'd condemn this generation, the people in Noah--Jonah's time.

Ce même démon fera la même chose... «Guéris celui-ci ici; laisse-moi Te voir le guérir.» Voyez cela, c’est ce même démon qui vit dans les religieux. «Laisse-moi Te voir accomplir un miracle. Je ne vais pas... Le vieil homme Untel vend des crayons là au coin, il est estropié. Laisse-moi te voir, toi le guérisseur divin, le guérir.» Souvenez-vous bien, c’est le diable. Voyez?

Just like he said, "Perform a miracle here and turn these stones into bread." Put a rag around His face, and they hit Him on the head and said, "Tell us who hit you. We'll believe it. You're a prophet; tell us who hit you."
That same devil will do the same thing... "Heal this one here; let me see You heal him." See that, that's that same devil living in religious people. "Let me see you perform a miracle. I won't... Old man so-and-so sells pencils down there on the corner has been crippled. Let me see you Divine healers heal him." Just remember that's the devil. See?

E-45 Nous ne faisons pas le clown pour eux. Dieu ne l’a jamais fait. Jonas ne l’a jamais fait. Personne d’autre ne le fait. Eux donc... laissez-les tranquilles. Ce sont des aveugles conduisant les aveugles. Ne leur dites donc absolument rien; continuez simplement à avancer. Nous en avons beaucoup qui croient cela plutôt que de perdre le temps avec des incroyants.
Mais observez, Jésus a dit: «Une génération méchante et adultère demande un miracle; il ne lui sera donné d’autre miracle que celui de Jonas. Car de même que Jonas fut trois jours et trois nuits dans le ventre d’un grand poisson, le Fils de l’Homme sera trois jours et trois nuits dans le sein de la terre.»

Quel genre de signe sera-ce? Le signe de la résurrection. Alléluia! Nous l’avons. Amen. Il est ici maintenant.
Jésus-Christ est ressuscité d’entre les morts, et Il est vivant après deux mille ans, se manifestant parmi nous. Une génération méchante, adultère, mauvaise, une génération adultère, c’est ce qu’est cette génération-ci. Comme Sodome, nous sommes retournés à cela une fois de plus. Il a dit: «Cette génération demandera un signe, ils auront un signe. Le signe sera la résurrection.» Saisissez-vous cela?
Et maintenant, ils taxent cela pour faire... se tenant loin de Dieu, ils disent: «C’est du diable. C’est une lecture des pensées. C’est de la télépathie», ou quelque chose comme cela, sans savoir que c’est la résurrection de Jésus-Christ parmi Son peuple. Gloire! Oh! Ce qui arriva du temps de Jonas (Voyez?), plusieurs...
| E-46 Notice. Now, get it. What kind of a generation? A wicked, evil, adulternous gener... He was speaking of this generation, or any generation that would say, "Perform me a sign; show..." That's what they was telling Him.
Now, these guys today that don't believe in Divine healing, and don't believe in miracles is asking, "Let me see you heal this one; let me see you heal that one." The Bible said they would get a sign. What kind of a sign would it be? The sign of the resurrection. Hallelujah. We have it. Amen. It's here now.
Jesus Christ has raised from the dead, and is alive after two thousand years, showing Himself among us. A wicked and an adulternous, evil generation, adulternous generation that's this generation. Like Sodom, we come back to it again. He said, "That generation will seek after a sign, and they will have a sign. The sign will be the resurrection." You get it?
And's now they call it, to make--send them farther away from God they say, "It's a devil. It's mind reading. It's telepathy, or something," not knowing that it's the resurrection of Jesus Christ among His people. Glory. Oh, as it was in the days of Jonas (See?), many...

E-47 Maintenant, nous en arrivons à Salomon. Du temps de Salomon, tout lecteur de la Bible sait que c’était l’âge d’or d’Israël. C’était la meilleure époque qu’ils aient jamais connue. C’était leur millénium amateur. Tout prospérait sous Salomon. Pourquoi? Quand Dieu donne un don à un peuple, ou à une nation, ou à un peuple, et que ces gens reconnaissent ce don-là, c’est un âge d’or pour eux. S’ils le rejettent, c’est le chaos pour eux. C’est pourquoi Il continuait à dire: «Il y a ici plus que Salomon.» Et ils avaient rejeté cela.
Eh bien, prenons Salomon pour quelques instants. Il a été donné à Salomon un don de discernement, et tout Israël avait soutenu cela. Tout le monde croyait cela. Eh bien, il avait un don de discernement, il pouvait exercer le discernement sur les gens. Et tout le monde était d’un seul coeur et de commun accord autour du grand don de Dieu. «Gloire à Dieu, Grand Jéhovah!» Ils chantaient des cantiques; ils avaient construit le temple; ils avaient accompli de grandes réalisations, car ils étaient heureux. Dieu avait placé un don de discernement dans un homme, Salomon. Et ils en étaient tous contents.
| E-47 Now, we come to Solomon. In the days of Solomon, any Bible reader knows that that was the golden age of Israel. That was their best days they ever had. That was their amateur millennium. Everything prospered under Solomon. Why? When God gives a gift to a people, or a nation, or a people, and those people will recognize that gift, it's a golden age for them. If they turn it down, it's chaos for them. That's the reason He kept saying, "A greater than Solomon is here." And they were turning it down.
Well, let's take Solomon for a few moments. Solomon was given a gift of discernment, and all of Israel rallied around it. Everybody believed it. Why, he had a gift of discernment, and he could discern for the people. And everybody was one heart, and one accord, around the great gift of God. "Praise God, great Jehovah," they sang the songs; they built the temple; they done great things, 'cause they were happy. Jehovah had put a gift of discernment in one man, Solomon. And they was all happy about it.

E-48 Oh! Si ce soir l’Amérique pouvait se rassembler autour du Don de Dieu, ça serait un âge d’or; il y aurait un millénium pour nous ici. Et si nous nous rassemblons autour du Don de Dieu, cela... C’est le Saint-Esprit, évidemment. Toute l’Amérique se rassemblerait autour du Don que Dieu nous a envoyé, le Saint-Esprit, ça serait un temps où on briserait chaque mur de séparation entre méthodistes, baptistes, presbytériens, luthériens, pentecôtistes, et nous aurions un âge d’or. Et la puissance de Dieu balayerait cette nation d’une mer à une mer brillante. Chaque nation sous les cieux aurait peur de nous.
C’est la meilleure protection que nous avons: la protection de Dieu. Nous n’avons pas à fabriquer des bombes atomiques, à faire la course avec la Russie, la course des missiles. Revenez simplement à Dieu. Acceptez le don qu’Il nous a donné. Mais ils ne le feront pas. Eh bien, vous ne pouvez même pas amener beaucoup de frères pentecôtistes à faire cela, ne parlons même pas de méthodistes, des baptistes, des presbytériens, des catholiques, des luthériens et autres. On n’arrive même pas à amener beaucoup à croire cela; ils ne se rassemblent pas autour de cela. Que reste-t-il alors? Le chaos. Dieu envoie cela; c’est à vous de le recevoir.
| E-48 Oh, if America tonight would rally around the gift of God, it'd be a golden age; it'd be a millennium for us here. What if we'd rally around the gift of God, that... That's the Holy Ghost, of course. All America would rally around the gift that God sent to us, the Holy Ghost, it'd be a time that they would break down every wall of partition between Methodist, Baptist, Presbyterian, Lutheran, Pentecostals, and we'd have a golden age. And the power of God would sweep this nation from sea to shining sea. Every nation under heaven would fear us.
That's the best protection we have: God's protection. We don't have to build atomic bombs, race Russia, and missile race. Just come back to God. Accept the gift that He give us. But they won't do it. Why, you can't even get many of the Pentecostal brethren to do it, let alone Methodist, Baptist, Presbyterian, Catholic, Lutheran, so forth. Can't get many to believe it; they don't rally around it. What's left then? Chaos. God sends it; it's up to you to receive it.

Eh bien, les gens passaient et voyaient cela. Et, oh! eh bien, leur coeur était tout enflammé et emporté. Personne ne parlait pour dire: «Oh! Je ne crois pas ça. Non, non. Ce n’est pas de Dieu.» Tout le monde était d’un seul coeur, autour de cela...

Oh, you--you'd be surprised to see how the great power of God comes upon a man, and watch how he discerns the cases between right and wrong for the people. Why, you should see it; it's wonderful."
Why, people would come by and see it. And oh, why, their hearts were all lit up and gone. Nobody talking say, "Oh, I don't believe that. Huh-uh. That ain't of God." Everybody was one heart around it...

E-50 Si les gens sur qui est invoqué le Nom de Jésus-Christ, si les gens qui sont appelés l’église chrétienne, juste eux seuls, s’assemblaient, priaient et acceptaient le don que Dieu nous a envoyé, il n’y aurait pas un seul mot insensé au sujet de la chose. Eh bien, il y aurait une merveilleuse effusion du Saint-Esprit. Les nations en entendraient parler, ce serait à la une, aux nouvelles télévisées, cela parcourrait le monde. Si seulement nous pouvions recevoir cela, mais ils ne le feront pas. Que reste-t-il alors? Une bombe atomique nous attend–c’est tout–, pour les incroyants. Jésus nous attend. Grâces soient rendues au Seigneur, il y a une issue... «A tous ceux qui L’ont reçu, Il a donné le pouvoir de devenir enfants de Dieu, ceux qui ont cru en Son Nom.»
| E-50 If the people that's called by the Name of Jesus Christ, if the people that's called the Christian church, just them people alone, would assemble themselves together, and pray, and accept the gift that God has sent us, there wouldn't be one foul word about the thing. Why, there'd be such a wonderful outpouring of the Holy Ghost. The nations would hear it, headlines, television news, it'd go around the world. If we could just get it, but they won't do it. Then what's left? An atomic bomb waits for us; that's all, for the unbeliever. Jesus is waiting for us. Thank the Lord, there's way out... "As many has received Him to them gave He the power to become sons of God, them that believed on His Name."

On disait: «Nous faisons de lui un roi et, oh! quelle grande puissance Dieu utilise, cet homme, Salomon là-bas! Dieu fait une chose glorieuse.

And every time people would go into another nation, they'd bring in the news, "O God, the great Jehovah God of the--the Jews, why, them people are one accord. And they built a big temple the... You never seen such splendor; you never seen such unity; you never seen such power. And God has visit a man there, and they've made Him their king." We can't even make one like that a pastor. Said, "We make Him a king, and oh, what a great power that God's a using, that fellow, Solomon up there. God is a doing a great thing."

Alors... Finalement, les nouvelles lui sont parvenues. Et tout celui qui venait de la Palestine disait: «Dites donc, nous venons de la Palestine. Vous devriez voir l’unité parmi ces gens. Leur Dieu a oint un homme. Et cet homme opère des signes du Dieu vivant, un signe qu’un homme ne peut pas opérer. Leur Dieu doit être un Dieu réel.» Vous savez, la foi vient de ce que... [Espace vide sur la bande–N.D.E.]...?...
«Mais vous devriez voir le glorieux Esprit sur lui. Je n’ai jamais vu pareil discernement. Oh! C’est infaillible, c’est l’exacte vérité à chaque coup. Vous devriez voir cela. Je n’ai jamais vu pareille chose.» Elle a commencé à avoir faim, elle a commencé à avoir soif.
Oh! J’aime ça: Avoir soif. Oh! Quand vous avez soif, il y a quelque chose à ce sujet. Vous ne pouvez pas parler de l’eau à un homme sans qu’il ait soif; mais quand il a soif, il va boire quelque part; il a soif.

"But you should see the great Spirit upon him. I never seen such discernment. Oh, it's infallible, every time exactly the truth. You should see it. I never seen anything like it." She begin to hunger, begin to thirst.
Oh, I love that: thirsting. Oh, when you're thirsting, there's something about it. You can't talk to a man about water until he gets thirsty, but when he gets thirsty he's going to drink from somewhere; he's thirsty.

E-53 Il y a quelque temps, je lisais dans Psaume 63; David dit: «Car Ta bonté vaut mieux que la vie pour moi, je louerai Ton Nom.» Je me suis dit: «Que voulait dire David?» La vie, c’est la chose la plus glorieuse qu’il y a, il doit donc y avoir diverses interprétations de la vie.
Eh bien, certaines personnes pensent que la vie consiste à boire, à faire des beuveries et à aller çà et là. Mais ce genre de vie cause du chagrin. Finalement, cela–cela... il n’y a pas... Ce n’est pas le genre de vie dont parlait David.
Eh bien, parfois, ce genre de vie vous amènera à prendre un pistolet et à vous faire sauter la cervelle, à sauter d’un pont pour se suicider. Les gens pensent que parce que... «Oh! Si seulement je pouvais gagner un million de dollars, cela serait vraiment la vie.» Non, c’est la mort.
| E-53 Here sometime ago I was reading in Psalms 63; David said, "Because thy loving-kindness is better to me than life, I will praise Thy Name."
I thought, "What did David mean?" Life, that's the greatest thing there is, so there must be different interpretations of life.
Now, some people thinks life is drinking and carousing and going around. But that kind of life has heartaches to it. It--it finally... There's no... That ain't the kind of life that David was talking about.
Now, sometimes that kind of a life will make you take a pistol, and blow your brains out, jump off a bridge and commit suicide. People think because... "Oh, if I could just make a million dollars that would really be life." No, that's death.

E-54 Il y a quelque temps, j’étais avec frère Sothmann dans une grande église, une arène là au Canada, dans une certaine grande ville. Et tout allait bien jusqu’à l’arrivée des Américains. Et ils arrivèrent là à une espèce de loge. Et cette nuit-là, quand je suis entré dans l’ascenseur, je rentrais chez moi après la réunion, il y avait assez de bouteilles de whisky là pour faire un casier ou deux de whisky. Et j’ai dit au jeune garçon qui me faisait monter, j’ai dit: «C’est quoi ça?»
Il a dit: «Ça vient de l’autre côté de la frontière par ici.» Il a dit: «Une espèce de–d’association qui célèbre... une loge qui célèbre son jubilé ici.» Il a dit: «C’est horrible.» Il a dit: «Est-ce vous frère Branham?»
J’ai dit: «Oui.» Et j’ai dit: «Ça me fait vraiment honte d’être Américain.»
Il a dit: «Eh bien, on célèbre aussi cela ici.»
Alors, je suis monté et je suis sorti de l’ascenseur. Et alors, j’ai entendu quelque chose à l’autre bout de la salle, un long couloir de ce grand hôtel. J’ai jeté un coup d’oeil là, voici deux femmes qui passaient là, d’environ vingt-cinq, trente ans, juste en sous-vêtements, et des hommes leur couraient après comme cela. Elles tenaient une bouteille de whisky en main, et toutes les deux portaient des alliances, et leurs maris faisaient peut-être le baby-sitter à la maison. Oh! Elles se tapaient juste un petit plaisir innocent. Il n’est pas étonnant que nous soyons condamnés. Peut-être que c’étaient des membres d’une école de dimanche quelque part, ou une monitrice de l’école du dimanche.
| E-54 Here sometime ago I was with Brother Sothmann in a great church, the arena up in Canada, at a certain big city. And it was going pretty good till the Americans come up. And they come up there at some kind of a lodge. And that night when I got on the elevator coming home from the meeting, there was enough whiskey bottles on there to make a case or two of whiskey.
And I said to the little boy was taking me up I said, "What's that?"
He said, "They're from across the line up here." Said, "Some kind of a--a society is having a--some lodge is having their jubilee here." Said, "It's been horrible." Said, "Are you Brother Branham?"
I said, "I am." And I said, "Makes me kindly ashamed to be an American."
He said, "Well, they have it here too."
So I went on up and got off the elevator. And when I got off the elevator, I heard something up at the other end of the room, long hall in this big hotel. I looked up there, and here was two women coming down through there just about twenty-five, thirty years old, just with their underneath clothes on, and men pulling after them like that. They had a bottle of whiskey in their hand: and both of them with wedding bands on, their husband baby-sitting perhaps at home. Oh, they was just having a little clean fun. No wonder we're doomed. Maybe belonged to a Sunday school somewhere, or a Sunday school teacher.

Je les ai saisies par la main, et j’ai dit: «Regardez ça, ces alliances. N’avez-vous pas honte de vous-mêmes? Même si vous n’étiez que des citoyennes américaines, c’est une disgrâce pour notre pays, et pour notre drapeau, et pour nos aïeux qui ont fondé cette nation. Je suis aussi Américain. Even if you would be no more than an American citizen, it's a disgrace to our country, and our flag, and what our forefathers established this nation to be. I'm an American too. I'm a Gospel preacher." And they started jumping, and pulling, and jumping, and snorting, and kicking at me, and everything else, and got away, and down the hall they went.

E-56 Ce n’est pas ça la vie, c’est la mort. Qu’est-ce qui fait... Qu’est-ce qui amène une belle jeune femme à désirer faire pareille chose? Qu’est-ce qui peut amener un homme, peut-être avec une femme à la maison faisant aussi le baby-sitter, à se retrouver là à courir après une femme, la femme d’un autre homme? Pourquoi boivent-ils? Qu’est-ce qui amène les gens à commettre un péché? C’est parce qu’ils ont soif. C’est vrai.
Quand Dieu a créé le coeur humain, Il a prévu un petit endroit là à l’intérieur pour Lui-même. Il vous a créé de manière à avoir soif, non pas avoir soif de cela, mais avoir soif de Lui. Comment un homme ou une femme, citoyen de n’importe quel pays, ose-t-il étancher cette sainte soif avec les choses du monde? La raison pour laquelle ils font cela, c’est que... vous n’avez pas besoin d’un autre verre, vous n’avez pas besoin d’une cigarette, vous les fumeurs. Vous n’avez pas besoin d’un autre verre, vous qui buvez. Vous n’avez pas besoin d’une autre fête; il vous faut Dieu, c’est ce qu’il vous faut, la soif pour la justice.
Dieu a créé ce lieu-là et Il a fait que vous ayez soif; c’est une partie de vous. Il a créé ce petit lieu dans votre coeur pour Lui servir de trône et pour satisfaire votre soif.
| E-56 That isn't life, that's death. What makes... What would a beautiful young woman want to do a thing like that? What would a man, maybe with his wife home baby-sitting too, and him up there pulling after her, another man's wife? Why do they drink? What causes people to sin? It's because they're thirsty. That's right.
When God made a human heart, He made a little place in there for Himself. He made you so you'd thirst, not thirst for that, but thirst for Him. How dare a man or a woman, citizen of any country, to try to quench that holy thirst with the things of the world. That's the reason they do it because... You don't need another drink. You don't need a cigarette, you smokers. You don't need another drink, you people who drink. You don't need another party; you need God is what you need, to thirst for righteousness.
God made that place, and made you to thirst; that's part of you. He made that little place in your heart to throne Himself and to satisfy your thirsting.

E-57 Cela ne vous servira à rien; cela vous transformera en toxicomane, ou–ou quelque chose d’autre. Et vous ne serez jamais satisfait, et cela ne sera jamais satisfait jusqu’à ce que vous trouviez la chose pour laquelle cela a été fait. Vous hybridez de nouveau quelque chose en cherchant à donner là quelque chose que Dieu a fait pour Lui-même. Et c’est ce qui amène quelqu’un à avoir soif.
Cette petite reine, combien c’était différent! Elle a eu soif parce que son petit coeur humble cherchait Dieu. Alors, peu après, il y a eu tellement de gens qui passaient qu’elle s’est dit: «Eh bien, j’irai découvrir de moi-même.»
Eh bien, voilà une bonne idée. Elle peut enseigner aux femmes américaines comment vivre. Voyez, des Américaines resteront à la maison et: «Bah! Eh bien, docteur Untel a dit que ce n’était pas vrai.» Elles resteront à la maison.
| E-57 It won't do you any good; it'll make you a dope addict, or--or something else. And you'll never be satisfied, and it will not be satisfied till you find the thing that it was made for. You're hybreeding something again, trying to give something there that God made for Himself. And that's what makes a person thirst.
This little queen, how much different, she was thirsting because her little humble heart was looking for God. Now, after while it got to be so many coming, till she thought, "Well, I'm going up to find out for myself."
Now, there's a good idea. She could teach American women how to live. See, Americans will set at home, and "Aw, well, doctor so-and-so said it wasn't right." They'll set home.

| E-58 This woman didn't care what doctor so-and-so said. She was thirsting to find out for herself. And she was determined to go. She had a lot to confront her. Remember, she was a pagan. She has to go ask her pagan priest if she could go.
Let's take a trip with her. I hear her go down say, "Holy reverend father, is it possible that you could excuse me as a queen? I hear they have a great revival going on up here in the next nation, that God, their God has come down, and has anointed the people till their all in one accord. He's put His Spirit upon a man; He's showing great discernments. Oh, holy father would you excuse me from the church so I can go?"

E-59 «Eh bien, ma fille, tu ne dois pas oublier qui tu es. Tu jouis d’un grand prestige. Vous savez, les gens meurent, mais les esprits ne meurent pas. Ils sont donc toujours vivants, ils affichent les mêmes attitudes.
«Ainsi donc, ne t’accroche pas à cette bande-là. Ils doivent être des saints exaltés là-bas. Ne les écoute pas. Eh bien, si quelque chose comme cela se passe, ça devrait se passer dans notre église.» Voyez? «Ça devrait se passer chez nous», dirait-il. «C’est ce qui devrait se passer.» Voyez-vous?
| E-59 "Now, my daughter, you must remember who you are. You have great prestige. Your mother went to this church; your father went to this church; your grandfather and grandmother, and their grandfather and grandmother went to this church. Now, there's no such stuff as that; don't you be carried away with some of that fanaticism."
You know people die, but spirits don't. So they still live on, have the same attitudes.
"So now, don't you hang around that bunch. They must be holy-rollers up there. Don't you listen to them. Now, if there's anything going on like that, it'd happen in our church." See? "It would be down here with us," they'd say. "That's the way it would be." You see?

E-60 Ainsi donc, la chose suivante, elle a dit: «Mais, écoutez, monsieur...» Suivons ce qu’elle a dit: «Mais écoutez, monsieur, tout ce que j’ai entendu mon arrière-grand-mère, ma mère et les autres dire, c’est qu’on a tout un tas de credos et autres que vous récitez ici, contemplant une espèce d’idole. Nous n’avons jamais vu une action jusque-là. Je n’ai jamais vu autre chose qu’un groupe de gens vivant comme le monde venir ici, réciter des credos et rentrer et je n’ai vu aucun signe surnaturel d’une quelconque vie dans une idole ou dans une église. On me dit qu’ils ont la preuve que Dieu vit avec eux. Je vais de toute façon.» Amen. J’aime ça.
Que Dieu traite avec un coeur, il n’y a pas assez de prêtres au monde pour l’en empêcher, pas assez de fanatiques pour l’en éloigner. Il va aller de toute façon; Dieu se met à traiter avec le coeur humain.
Je peux la voir se retourner, sortir de l’église. Eh bien, ne l’oubliez pas, c’était une femme pour commencer, une petite dame qui devait aller... Eh bien, rappelez-vous, elle a dit ceci aussi, elle a dit: «Eh bien, j’y vais pour voir ce qu’il en est. La première chose que j’aimerais faire, c’est m’acheter beaucoup de rouleaux de Juifs pour voir quel genre de Dieu Jéhovah est.» C’est une bonne idée. «Sondez les Ecritures pour cela, Elles rendent témoignage de qui Je suis.» D’accord.

Let's listen to what she said, "But look, sir, all I've heard of my great grandmother, and mother, and so forth has all just a bunch of creeds and things that you're reciting here, looking at some kind of a idol. And we've never seen one move yet. I never seen nothing but a bunch of people that lives like the world coming here, and reciting creeds, and going back, and I've seen no supernatural sign of any life in any idol or in the church. And they tell me that they got the article that God lives with them. I'm going anyhow." Amen. I like that.
You let God go to dealing with a heart there ain't enough priests in the world to keep them away from it, enough fanatics either to keep them away from it. They're coming anyhow; God goes to dealing with the human heart.
I can see her turn, go out of the church. Now, remember, she was a woman to begin with, a little lady that had to go... Now, remember she said this too. She said, "Now, I'm going up there to see about it. The first thing I better do would be buy a lot of Jewish scrolls, and see what kind of a God Jehovah is."
It's good idea. "Search the Scriptures for Them, They are They that testify of Me." All right.

E-61 Alors, elle a sondé les rouleaux, elle a vu tout ce qu’il y avait dans les rouleaux concernant ce que Jéhovah était, ce qu’était Sa nature, ce qu’Il avait fait. C’est une bonne chose pour chaque lecteur de la Bible. Quand vous venez à une réunion, et que vous ne pouvez pas comprendre cela, voyez si c’est conforme aux Ecritures. Si ce n’est pas scripturaire, jetez cette histoire. Si c’est scripturaire, recevez cela. C’est vrai. Ce que... Faites ce que Jésus a dit.
Elle a donc acheté les rouleaux, et elle les a complètement lus. Elle a dit: «Eh bien, je sais que les rouleaux en parlent; Il est ce genre de... les prophètes disent tous qu’Il est ce genre de Dieu, Il est le Dieu de ce type-là. J’y vais donc, et je vais amener beaucoup d’argent avec moi. Si c’est la vérité, je soutiendrai cela. Si ce n’est pas la vérité, alors, je ne vais pas soutenir cela. Je ramènerai mon argent.»
Cela serait une bonne leçon pour beaucoup d’Américains. Si–si seulement le peuple américain supportait ce qui est bien, ce qui s’avère être Dieu, mais ils supportent tout le reste sauf pratiquement cela. Je pense qu’il doit en être ainsi.
| E-61 Then she searched the scrolls, and found out all what was on the scrolls how Jehovah was, what His nature was, what He did. That's a good thing for every Bible reader. When you come to a meeting, you can't understand it, see if it's with the Scripture. If it ain't Scriptural throw the thing away. If it is the Scripture, receive it. That's right. What... Do what Jesus said do.
Then she bought the scrolls, and she read them over. She said, "Well, I know the scrolls speak it; He's that kind of a... The prophets all say that He's that kind of a God, and He is the God of that type. So I'm going up there, and I'm going to take a lot of money with me. If it is the truth, I'll support it. If it isn't the truth, then I'm not going to support it. I'll bring my money back."
That would be a good lesson for a lot of Americans. If--if the American people would support that which is right, that which proves to be God, but they support everything else but that nearly. I guess it just has to be that way.

Et voici, il y a ici un plus grand que Salomon. Le Dieu de Salomon est avec nous, assurément, faisant la même chose qu’Il avait faite au jour de Salomon. Il n’est pas étonnant que Jésus ait dit qu’elle se lèverait au Jugement et condamnerait cette génération.
Et autre chose, elle avait beaucoup d’argent, de myrrhe et d’encens. Oh! Cela, c’était... Il n’y a pas moyen de compter le prix, cela valait des dizaines de milliers de dollars. Eh bien, elle avait à traverser le désert. Les enfants d’Ismaël étaient là dans le désert. Et c’étaient des voleurs.
| E-62 Now remember, she saddled up her camels, and took a few maids with her, and the eunuchs from the temple. And she started off on her journey.
Now, remember she didn't have to go just across the street. She had hundreds of miles through the Sahara desert, not in an air conditioned Cadillac, but on the back of a camel. No wonder Jesus said, "She'll rise at the day of judgment and condemn this generation."
Some people won't walk across the street to see one of the meetings, and she come from the utmost parts of the world to hear the wisdom of Solomon. And behold a greater than Solomon is here. Solomon's God is with us, sure, doing the same thing He did in Solomon's day. No wonder Jesus said she'd rise in the judgment and condemn this generation.
And another thing she had lots of money, myrrh, and frankincense. Oh, it--it was... There's no way to numerate the price, tens of thousands of dollars worth of it. Now, she had to cross the desert. Ishmael's children was out there on the desert, and they were robbers.

E-63 Mais, vous savez, il y a là quelque chose. Quand votre coeur commence à avoir soif de Dieu, vous ne connaissez pas la peur. Vous continuez simplement à avancer malgré tout; vous ne pensez pas à ce sujet, ce que maman va dire, ce que papa va dire, ce qu’untel va dire, ce que mon patron va dire, vous ne faites qu’avancer. Lorsque vous commencez à avoir faim et soif de Dieu, quelque chose commence à se passer. Vous poursuivez cela malgré tout.
Elle a entrepris la traversée du désert. Peut-être qu’elle devait voyager la nuit comme il faisait très chaud la journée. Ces rayons directs de ce–ce soleil là-bas, dans ce désert de Sahara, vous brûleraient pratiquement la peau.
Et... Vous savez combien de temps ça prend pour traverser... à une caravane pour traverser ce désert-là? Quatre-vingt-dix jours, trois mois. Mais il y avait quelque chose qui l’attirait, qui l’attirait.
| E-63 But you know, there's something about it. When your heart goes to hungering for God, you know no fear. You just keep on going anyhow; you don't think about it. What mama going to say, what papa going to say, what so-and-so going to say, what my boss is going to say, you just keep moving on. When you begin to hunger and thirst for God, something begins to come. You go on after it anyhow.
She started across the desert. Perhaps had to travel by night because the day time would be so hot. Them direct rays of that--that sun down here on that Sahara desert would burn the hide off of you nearly.
And... You know how long it takes to cross, a caravan to cross that desert? Ninety days, three months. But there was something dragging her, pulling her.

E-64 Ô Dieu! Ouf! Heureux ceux qui ont faim et soif, car ils seront rassasiés: avoir faim et soif. Oh! Avant d’avoir soif, on ne peut pas vous en parler, mais dès que vous commencez à avoir soif, vous êtes alors prêt.
Elle était... avait... Elle ne pensait pas aux enfants d’Ismaël; Dieu protégerait contre cela. Si ce Dieu était Dieu, Il la protégerait. Elle était en route le jour...?... sortir en courant... La journée, elle se couchait en dessous, avec ses petites servantes, et lisait ces rouleaux. Et elle s’est dit: «Est-ce que ce grand ciel, c’est Jéhovah qui l’a créé? Est-ce Lui qui a créé cela? Je vais le découvrir. On dit qu’il y a un signe là; je vais voir si c’est vrai.»
| E-64 O God, whew. Blessed are they that do hunger and thirst, for they shall be filled: hungering and thirsting. Oh, till you get thirsty you can't talk about it to you, but when you go to thirsting you're ready then.
She was had... She wasn't thinking about Ishmael's children; God would protect that. If this God was God, He'd protect her. And she was on her road day...?... run out... In the day time she would lay around under with her little maids along there and read these scrolls. And say, "Is that great sky, did Jehovah make that? Did He do this? I'm going to find out. They say they got a sign there; I'm going to see if it's right."

E-65 Finalement, elle arriva aux portails du palais. Et quand, finalement, elle est arrivée aux portails du palais, elle n’était point allée pour dire: «Je vais entrer et m’asseoir, et si ce gars-là dit une chose contre notre théologie, de notre église, je vais directement me lever, sortir de la salle en tapant du pied.» Non, ça, c’est l’attitude américaine. Vous voyez? Mais pas la sienne. Elle était venue s’asseoir là jusqu’à ce qu’elle fût pleinement convaincue, en comparant cela avec les Ecritures. Elle a dressé ses tentes et tout, elle s’est apprêtée pour la réunion.
Et je peux m’imaginer le lendemain matin, elle a porté de ses meilleurs habits, et elle et ses–ses servantes, et elles se sont présentées à la porte. Toute la chorale a chanté de glorieuses chansons, les trompettes ont retenti, le sacrifice a été offert, tous les préliminaires étaient terminés et Salomon est monté à l’estrade.
| E-65 Finally, she arrived at the palace gates. And when she finally got to the palace gates, she never come just to say, "I'm going in and set down, and if that guy says one thing against our theology at our church, I'll get right up and stomp out of the building." No, that's the American attitude. You see? But not hers. She come to set there until she was fully convinced, typing it with the Scriptures. She placed her tents and everything, got ready for the meeting.
And I can imagine the next morning she cleaned up in her best, and her and her maids, and they went to the door. And all the choir sang the great songs, and the trumpets sounded, and the sacrifice was offered, all the preliminaries got out of the way, and out on the platform come Solomon.

E-66 Elle a dit: «Oh! Le voilà. Ça doit être lui le gars que Dieu a oint. Eh bien, si ce Dieu... Eh bien, que je voie maintenant. Que je voie. Je repasserai tous ces prophètes maintenant, je verrai si c’est vrai.»
La chose suivante, vous savez, on a fait monter le premier cas, elle a vu que l’esprit de discernement de Salomon était parfait. Elle a observé cela jour après jour, pas une faille nulle part. Son petit coeur s’est mis à battre. Peu après, comme il commençait à battre fortement, finalement, sa carte de prière a été appelée et elle est montée.
Et quand elle est montée là, elle s’est tenue devant Salomon; elle avait un secret dans son coeur. Et Salomon, dit la Bible, lui a tout dit; il n’y eut rien de caché. Dieu avait tout révélé à Salomon, ce qu’elle voulait savoir. Est-ce vrai? C’est cela l’esprit du discernement. Assurément.
| E-66 She said, "Oh, there he is. That must be the guy that God's got anointed. Now, if this God... Now, let me see now. Let me see. I'll rehearsed all these prophets now; I'll see if it's right."
First thing you know they brought the first case up, and she found that Solomon's spirit of discernment was perfect. Day after day she watched it, not a flaw in it nowhere. Her little heart began to beat. After while as it began to beat heavy, finally her prayer card was called, and she come up.
And when she got up there, she stood before Solomon; she had a secret in her heart. And Solomon, the Bible said, told her all things; there was nothing kept back. God revealed everything to Solomon that she wanted to know. Is that right? That's the spirit of discernment, sure.

E-67 Il lui a tout révélé, et quand sa carte de prière a été appelée, elle s’est levée, et Salomon lui a tout révélé par l’Esprit de Dieu, elle s’est tournée vers l’assistance, elle a dit: «Tout ce que j’avais entendu est la vérité. Et c’est plus vrai que ce que j’avais entendu. C’est plus glorieux que je le pensais.» Pourquoi? Elle se tenait dans la Présence de Jéhovah. Alléluia! Oh!
Je souhaiterais pouvoir apporter cela tel que je le vois. Oh! la la! Savez-vous que quand le Saint-Esprit descend, la puissance de Dieu frappe un lieu, Jéhovah est présent, ce même Jéhovah?
| E-67 Revealed it all to her, and when her prayer card was called, and she got up there, and Solomon revealed the whole thing to her by the Spirit of God, she turned to the audience, and she said, "All that I have heard is the truth. And more than I've heard is the truth. It's greater than I thought." Why? She was standing in the Presence of Jehovah. Hallelujah. Oh.
Wish I could get that the way I see it. Oh, my, do you realize when the Holy Spirit comes down, and the power of God strikes the place, Jehovah is present, that same Jehovah?

E-68 Comment pouvons-nous rester tranquilles? Que devons-nous faire? Vous voyez, vous pensez: «Oh! Si j’avais vécu jadis, alors...» Vous auriez eu le même sentiment que maintenant. C’est plus glorieux maintenant que jadis, car là, c’était sur un seul homme; ici, c’est sur tout le peuple qui Le recevra. C’était pour un seul homme, Salomon. Maintenant, c’est pour quiconque le veut, qu’il vienne. Amen.
Un plus grand que Salomon est ici, accomplissant le signe de Sa résurrection. Il a été fait chair, Il est mort pour ôter votre péché, Il est ressuscité le troisième jour, Il est revenu sous forme du Saint-Esprit, et les oeuvres qu’Il avait accomplies, Il les accomplit en plein parmi les gens; le même hier, aujourd’hui et éternellement. Alléluia! Je dis: Alléluia! Cela veut dire gloire à notre Dieu. Oh! Oui. Il est ici.
Il n’est pas étonnant que Jésus ait dit: «Elle se lèvera au jour du Jugement et condamnera cette génér...» A part cela, regardez ce qu’elle a dit à Shreveport, et à beaucoup de ces endroits, les églises pentecôtistes.
«Non seulement cela, mais heureux ceux qui sont avec vous, qui se tiennent là et vous servent. Heureux sont-ils, car ceux-ci disent... ils voient ces choses arriver jour après jour. Heureux sont-ils. Heureux les hommes qui sont avec vous, qui se tiennent à vos côtés, pour voir ce don opérer jour après jour.

A greater than Solomon is here showing the sign of His resurrection. He was made flesh, and died to take away your sin, rose again on the third day, and come back in the form of the Holy Ghost, and the works that He did, He's doing right among the people, the same yesterday, today, and forever. Hallelujah. I say, "Hallelujah," means "praise our God." Oh, yes. He's here.
No wonder Jesus said, "She'll rise in the day of the judgment and condemn this gener..." Besides that, look what she said to Shreveport, and a lot of these places, the Pentecostal churches.
"Not only that, but blessed is the one's that's with you, that stand and minister with you. Blessed are they, for these say--they see these things happening day after day. Blessed are they. Blessed are the men that's with you, that stand by you, to see this gift operating day after day."

E-69 Jésus a dit qu’elle se lèverait au Jugement et condamnerait cette génération (C’est vrai), et condamnerait cette génération; à combien plus forte raison condamnerait-elle celle-ci plus que celle-là; en effet, considérez la grande lumière que nous avons eue depuis ce jour-là: la mort, l’ensevelissement, la résurrection, le Saint-Esprit Lui-même avec nous. Voyez-vous ce que je veux dire? C’est trop ordinaire. C’est ce que–c’est ce que le Saint-Esprit est devenu pour les pentecôtistes; c’est trop ordinaire.
Une fois, un vieil homme qui vivait à l’intérieur était en route vers le rivage. Il avait écrit des livres, et il avait souvent écrit sur la mer, comment elle était belle. Un jour, il était en route vers là, il descendait au rivage, et il a rencontré un vieux loup de mer qui revenait de la mer. Et ce dernier lui a demandé: «Où allez-vous, mon bon homme?»
Il a dit: «Oh! Je m’en vais à la mer. Je ne l’ai jamais vue de ma vie.» Et il a dit: «J’aimerais voir ces grosses vagues blanches étincelantes, alors qu’elles s’élancent violemment. J’aimerais flairer l’air salé. J’aimerais entendre le cri de la mouette de mer.»
Et le vieux loup de mer s’est tenu là, il a regardé, il a un peu mâché le bout de sa pipe, il a dit: «Je suis né là-dessus. Je suis là depuis cinquante ans. Je ne vois rien d’émouvant là», et il s’en est allé. C’est ça. Il était tellement habitué à cela que cela ne l’émouvait plus.
| E-69 Jesus said she'll rise in the judgment and condemn that generation (That's right.) and condemn this generation; for how much more will she condemn this one than to that one, because look at the much more light that we've got since that day: death, burial, resurrection, the Holy Ghost Itself right with us? See what I mean? It's too common. That's what--that's what the Holy Spirit is to the Pentecostal people; It's too common.
An old man one time that lived in the interior, was on his road down to the seashore. And he'd write books, and he'd often wrote of the sea how beautiful it was. One day on his road down, he went down to the seashore, and he met an old salt coming from the sea. And he said, "Where goest thou, my good man?"
He said, "Oh, I'm going to the sea. I've never seen it in my life." And he said, "I want to see its big briny white waves as they dash. I want to smell the salt air. I want to hear the cry of the sea gull."
And the old salt stood there and looked, chewed on his pipe stem a little bit, said, "I was born on it. I been on it for fifty years. I don't see nothing so thrilling about it," and went on. That's it. He was so used to it, it wasn't thrilling to him anymore.

E-70 C’est ça le problème de l’église aujourd’hui. Vous en avez tellement vu que cela ne vous ravit plus. Le Saint-Esprit est si bon qu’Il vous visite de temps en temps, de temps en temps, et nous oublions cela.

| E-70 That's what's the matter with the Church today. You've seen so much of it; it doesn't thrill you anymore. The Holy Spirit's so good to visit you time after time, after time, after time, and we forget it.
In Louisville, Kentucky, a few weeks ago there's a mother packing a little baby along. And she, walking along there, and she was shaking little toys, you know, saying, "See darling? See darling?" Then she'd get something else. "See darling, see darling?" The little baby just kept staring.
And after while it--it kind of disturbed the people in the store. Finally she picked up a little bell that jingled. She said, "Look darling, look, look, look, look. Mama's darling, look." And the little baby just stared out, and she fell across the counter.

E-71 Les gens sont allés l’aider. Ils ont demandé: «Qu’y a-t-il?»
Elle a dit: «Mon petit garçon ici, il n’y a pas longtemps, a-t-elle dit, il a juste commencé à avoir le regard fixe, dans le vide.» Et elle a dit: «Je l’ai amené chez le médecin il y a quelque temps, et ce dernier a dit qu’il allait mieux, mais il ne va pas mieux.» Elle a dit: «Rien n’arrive à l’attirer.» Elle a dit: «Les choses qui devraient attirer l’attention d’un petit garçon de son âge, ça ne l’attire pas; il reste simplement assis, le regard dans le vide.»
Combien cela est vrai de l’église aujourd’hui. Dieu a secoué devant l’église chaque sorte de don qu’Il peut, et ils restent tranquillement assis, le regard dans le vide, attendant autre chose. Alléluia! C’est vrai. Dieu va se fatiguer de secouer des dons devant vous d’ici peu. Nous restons assis, paralysés.
On voit Oral Roberts, et les autres, guérir les malades, et de grands signes et de grands prodiges du Messie ressuscité, et les gens restent assis et disent: «Eh bien, je ne sais pas.» Voyez?
| E-71 And the people come to help her. They said, "What's the matter?"
She said, "Oh, my little boy here not long ago," said, "just started to staring right out in space." And said, "I took him to the doctor awhile ago, and he said he was better, but he isn't." Said, "Nothing will attract him." Said, "Things that ought to attract a little boy his age, it doesn't attract him; he just sets and stares in space."
How true that is with the church today. God shook every kind of a gift He can before the church, and they still set and stare, looking for something else. Hallelujah. That's right. God's going to get tired shaking gifts before you after while. We sit paralyzed.
See an Oral Roberts, and so forth, a healing the sick, and great signs and wonders of the resurrected Messiah, and the people set and say, "Well, I don't know." See?

E-72 Ça ne les attire plus. Quelque chose est arrivé à leur esprit. On dirait simplement qu’ils sont mentalement dérangés ou spirituellement dérangés. Et leur caractère, vous pouvez leur parler de la sainteté et de la manière de vivre, ils n’y accordent plus d’attention, c’est comme si vous n’aviez même pas dit cela. Cela ne... Ils devraient se rendre compte de leur position, ne pas se disputer, ne pas se battre, ne pas se mettre dans ses états, ne pas faire des histoires, ne pas avoir de la rancune.
| E-72 It don't attract them anymore. Something has happened to their minds. They just seem like their just mentally upset or spiritually upset. And their character, you can tell them about holiness and how to live, they don't pay no bit more attention to that, as if you didn't even say it. It doesn't... They don't realize that a son and a daughter of God should act like a son and daughter of God. They should realize their position, not fussing, fighting, stewing, carry on, and hold grudges.

E-73 Il y a quelque temps, ici dans le sud, on vendait des gens de couleur comme des esclaves. On les vendait dans des parkings juste comme on vendrait des véhicules, des véhicules d’occasion, et on obtenait un acte de vente avec eux... Cela n’a jamais été correct.
Alors, quand... Un jour, un négociant est passé par là, il voulait acheter quelques esclaves dans une plantation. Et on vendait des hommes costauds pour les croiser avec des femmes costaudes et avoir des esclaves plus costauds, qui pouvaient tirer leurs charrettes, les charrues et autres, et accomplir leur travail. Alors, un jour, un négociant est passé par-là et a demandé: «Combien d’esclaves avez-vous?»
On lui a répondu: «J’en ai cent ou deux cents.» On lui a dit: «Regardez-les.»
Il les a tous observés; ils étaient loin de leur patrie, on devait les fouetter et tout pour les amener à obéir, car ils étaient tristes. Ils savaient qu’ils ne retourneraient plus jamais chez eux; ils auraient à mourir ici dans un pays étranger et ils ne retourneraient plus jamais chez eux.
| E-73 Here sometime ago in the south here, they used to sell the colored for slaves. And they'd sell them on the lots just like you would cars, used cars, get a bill of sale with them... Never was right.
Then when... One day there was a broker came by and wanted to buy some slaves on a plantation. And they'd buy the big men and breed them to big women, and make heavier slaves to pull their carts, and plows, and things, and do their work. And one day a broker came by and he said, "How many slaves you got?"
Said, "I got a hundred, or two." Said, "Take a look at them."
He noticed all of them; they was away from their homelands, and they'd had to whip them, and everything, to make them obey, and 'cause they were sad. They knowed they'd never be back home no more; they'd have to die here in a strange land; and they never would be back home no more.

Alors, le propriétaire a dit: «Je me l’étais demandé pendant longtemps, mais un jour, j’ai découvert. Là dans sa patrie, d’où il vient en Afrique, son père est un roi d’une tribu. Et quand bien même il est un étranger, loin de sa patrie, il se conduit toujours comme un fils du roi.»
| E-74 But they noticed one young man, they didn't have to whip him. Boy, he had his chest out, his chin up. He's always on the go. That broker said, "I'd like to buy that slave."
He said, "But he's not for sale."
Said, "Why isn't he for sale?" Said, "Is he the boss over the rest of them?"
Said, "No, he's a slave."
Said, "Do you feed him different than you feed the rest of them?"
Said, "They all eat in the galley together."
Said, "What makes him so much difference than the rest of the slaves?"
And the owner said, "I wondered that for a long time, but one day I found out. Over in the homeland where he came from in Africa, his father is a king over the tribe. And though he's an alien, and away from his homeland, he still conducts himself as a king's son."

E-75 Hum! Pourquoi devrions-nous nous conduire nous-mêmes comme des lâches? Nous sommes fils et filles de Dieu. Nous sommes étrangers; nous sommes pèlerins et étrangers ici, mais nous reculons devant la Parole de Dieu. C’est son... Nous sommes fils et filles du Roi.
Ne mentez pas, ne volez pas, ne buvez pas, ne fumez pas, n’ayez pas de comportement bizarre comme cela; les femmes ne devraient pas se couper les cheveux et agir comme les femmes de la rue, habillées de cette espèce d’habits. Nous sommes fils et filles de Dieu: les fils du Roi et les filles du Roi. Ceci n’est pas notre pays. Nous mourons un jour dans ce pays, mais nous sommes en route vers la Maison. Conduisons-nous en fils et filles de Dieu. C’est vrai.
Et la reine du Midi se lèvera au jour du Jugement et condamnera cette génération, car elle est venue des extrémités de la terre pour entendre la sagesse de Salomon. Et il y a ici plus que Salomon.
| E-75 Hmm. Why ought we to conduct ourselves, as cowards? We are sons and daughters of God. We're aliens; we're pilgrims and strangers here, but we walk back upon God's Word. It's His... We are sons and daughters of a King.
Don't lie, steal, drink, smoke, carry on like that; women shouldn't cut their hair and act like street women dressed in them kind of clothes. We're sons and daughters of God: King's sons and King's daughters. This is not our land. We'll die in this land someday, but we're on our road home. Let's conduct ourselves as sons and daughters of God. That's right.
And the queen of the south shall rise in the day of judgment and condemn this generation, because she came from the utmost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon. And behold a greater than Solomon is here.

Et ce signe-là, dont Il a parlé au sujet de Jonas, la chose même pour laquelle ils ont dit qu’Il était Béelzébul, car Il pouvait discerner les pensées de leur coeur, le même chapitre dit qu’Il connaissait les pensées de leur coeur... Et ils ont dit qu’Il était un démon. Il leur a dit que la reine du Midi était venue de loin, de Séba, pour entendre la–la sagesse de Salomon, et il y avait là plus que Salomon.
| E-78 Father God, it was You that said the queen of the south shall rise up. And in this last quotation that would condemn the generation, and Jonas, the evil and sign seeking generations. We got them today, Father. They just won't believe it the way You wrote it. They say, "Let me see you do something. Show me a miracle; show me this." They don't realize that spirit within them has been down through the ages in people.
They said to our Lord, "Show us the sign; we seek a sign."
He said, "All this wicked generation will receive a sign, the resurrection sign." We're so glad tonight.
And that sign that He was talking about then on Jonas, the very thing that they said He was a Beelzebub because He could discern the thoughts of their heart, the very same chapter said He'd perceive the thoughts in their heart... And they said He was a devil. And He told them that how the queen of the south come all the way from Sheba to hear the--the wisdom of Solomon. And a greater than Solomon was there.

E-79 Et maintenant, aujourd’hui, ce même Seigneur Jésus ressuscité est au milieu de nous sous forme du Saint-Esprit, avec nous ici, agissant en nous, accomplissant les mêmes oeuvres. Et la génération méchante, la génération adultère, qui se marie, donne en mariage, des tribunaux de divorce, la perversion, la perversion sexuelle, toutes sortes de mal... «Montre-nous un miracle.» C’est ce que vous faites: La résurrection. Et, Père, accorde-nous, en tant que chrétiens, ceux qui sont forts en Christ, d’agir en enfants de Dieu, de parler en enfants de Dieu, d’être positifs sur la Parole de Dieu, sachant ce que le Saint-Esprit a fait pour nous.
| E-79 And now, today that same resurrected Lord Jesus is in our midst in the form of the Holy Ghost, with us here, moving in us, doing the same things. And the evil generation, adulterous generation, marrying, given in marriage, divorce courts, perversion, sex perversions, all kinds of evil... "Show us the sign." You're doing it: the resurrection. But they won't believe it, Father.
Now, these in here... And as I said about the--the colored slave, how that he didn't have to be whipped. No, no matter how tough it was for him, he still knew he was a--a king's son. He kept the morals of the rest of them up on his own behavior.
And, Father, let us as Christians, the one's who are strong in Christ, act like children of God, talk like children of God, positive on God's Word, knowing what the Holy Ghost has done for us.

| E-80 Many hands went up, that they wanted to receive Him as personal Saviour and become His child. God, I pray that in this prayer line somewhere, or somewhere in the meeting, that You'll show that sign of the resurrection that You promised through Jonah. And may that hour, or that moment, may the power of God seal them in their heart with the Holy Spirit and make them sons and daughters of God, that their character would be changed, their desires, and their objectives, and motives, and everything in their life would be changed. Grant it, Lord.
We're waiting farther on You; the service is Yours. It's in Your Name. And we're waiting to see what You will do. Save these Lord; don't let them leave this building, tonight without salvation. Grant it, Lord.

| E-85 Now, I'd like to say this to you. Now, how many knows that there's no man that can heal you? How many knows that healing is, Divine healing is a finished work of God at Calvary. See? And it's based upon whosoever will may come and accept their healing by faith; you believe it. Is that right? By faith you believe it.
Now, some people has gifts; like a real good preacher, he can make--take that Word of God and just lay it out there like that, some good theologian, and can... That's the gift of healing. They can make you see it through the Word. Now, I can't do that, because I--I'm just not that much of a preacher. So then I--I can't do it that way.

And he goes to a meeting, a certain fellow did, and not knowing that I'd know about it, 'cause he's no more than saying it, and I seen it in a vision in my hotel room. I don't see how some people can do that, and come up, and say these things, when you know you know better. See?
So he said, "Now, Brother Branham is a prophet of the Lord," he said, "but don't listen to his teaching, because he's wrong."
The same Holy Spirit that preached the service tonight, the same Holy Spirit preaches all these things is the same Holy Spirit that discerns the thoughts of the heart. Certainly.

| E-90 What is the mark of a prophet? He's a divine interpreter of the Divine Word. That's exactly. The Word of the Lord came to the prophet. That's who it came to, not the theologian, the prophet. Do you know what "prophet" means? Take the dictionary, and look, and see what it means: "An interpreter of the Divine Word."
And then come and say such as that... See how... People just got so churchy, till they don't know God no more. That's it. That's what makes us so mulely. Uh-huh. It's just... You want to get back to that stage of real genuine Holy Ghost faith.

I think everyone of them is saved now. Everyone of them, all of them saved, everyone of them. The brother setting right there from Willow Shade, or Somerset, isn't it Kentuc... Somerset, Kentucky. Somebody in here... Some of you Baptist want to see a Baptist preacher with the Holy Ghost? Stand up just minute, Brother Daulton. There's a Kentucky Baptist preacher with the Holy Ghost. Alors, comment a-t-Il agi quand une femme L’avait touché? Il s’est retourné, lui a parlé de sa perte de sang, Il lui a dit que sa foi l’avait sauvée. Est-ce vrai?

First, we have to confess He's done it, then He starts making intercession. And He's the High Priest that can be touched by what? The feeling of our infirmities. Then if we can touch Him with our infirmities, and He's the same High Priest yesterday, today, and forever, wouldn't He act the same way? Is that right? Then how did He do when a woman touched Him. He turned around, told her about her blood issue, and told her her faith had saved her. Is that right?

We were born miles apart, years apart, and this is our first time we've ever met in life, as far as I know. She says she's a stranger, and God knows I don't know her. There's something the woman's here for, maybe domestic trouble, maybe financial trouble, it may be sickness, it may be for somebody else; I don't know.

E-95 Mais ceci est un signe, comme Saint Jean 4, pour rendre cela scripturaire pour vous, une femme et un homme qui se rencontrent pour la première fois sur terre. Maintenant, nous savons que quand le Messie sera venu, Celui qu’on appelle Christ, quand Il... Nous savons qu’Il viendra, quand Il viendra, ce sera là Son signe.» Combien savent cela, que la Bible l’enseigne? Eh bien, si c’était là le signe du Messie hier, et qu’Il est le même hier, aujourd’hui et éternellement, cela ne serait-il pas le même signe aujourd’hui? Nous voici, deux ensemble, nous ne nous sommes jamais rencontrés auparavant.
| E-95 But this is a sign like Saint John 4 to make it Scriptural to you, a woman and a man meeting for their first time on earth. Jesus talked to the woman just a few minutes to find out, to catch her spirit. How many knows that? He got to talking to her about segregation. She said, "It's not right for you to ask me the Samaritan, but have any dealings with each other."
But when He found her trouble, He said, "Go, get your husband and come here."
And He told her. And she said, "I... Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet. Now, we know that when the Messiah cometh, Who's called the Christ, when He... We know He's coming, when He comes that'll be His sign." How many knows that, that the Bible teaches that? Well, if that was the Messiah sign yesterday, and He's the same yesterday, today, and forever, wouldn't it be the same sign today? Here we are, two together, never met before.

Il ne fait pas ceci parce qu’Il–Il veut juste vous faire voir Sa bonté; Il le fait pour accomplir Sa Parole. Jésus guérissait les malades, non pas parce qu’Il était tenu de le faire, mais parce qu’Il voulait accomplir la Parole. C’est exact. C’est pourquoi Il le faisait, afin que s’accomplisse ce qui avait été dit par le prophète. Ceci, c’est afin que s’accomplisse ce qui a été dit par Jésus, qu’Il le ferait dans ces derniers jours.
| E-96 Now, if He will tell her what has been... Now, she'll know whether it's true or not, what's wrong with her, or what she's here for. Something I don't know, ever what it is, then she'll know whether it's true or not. Then surely, she would know it. Everybody would have to know it would be from some spiritual power. Is that right? 'Cause there's no way for me to know the woman; I've never seen her; she don't know me. And here we stand... And you out there, I don't know you, but God knows you, and He promised to do this.
He's not doing this because He--He just wants to show you His goodness; He's doing it to fulfill His Word. Jesus healed the sick, not because He had to, but because He wanted to fulfill the Word. That's exactly. That's why He did it, that it might be fulfilled which is spoken of the prophet. And this is it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Jesus, that He'd do it in these last days.
