E-2 Et je me suis trompé. Je pense que j’ai dit que j’étais sorti et que j’avais pris le dîner avec la famille Bentrude par ici, et je me suis rendu compte que ce n’était pas la famille Bentrude. Je pense que c’était la fille de Bentrude qui avait épousé quelqu’un d’autre. J’oublie... Neistead. Eh bien, Frère et Soeur Neistead, si je... Vous êtes ici, je m’excuse, mais je pense qu’au départ vous étiez les Bentrude. Je pense que c’est juste. Je ne suis pas certain, mais je pense que c’est juste. J’avais donc à moitié raison. Mais, de toute façon, j’ai dit qu’ils me tuaient avec leur gentillesse. Et c’est vraiment ainsi que les choses se sont passées. Nous en sommes donc très reconnaissants.
| E-2 And I made a mistake. I believe I said I was out and eat dinner with the Bentrude family out here, and I find out it isn't Bentrude. I think it was Bentrude's daughter married someone else. I forget... Neistead. Well, Brother and Sister Neistead, if I--you're here, I'm sorry, but I think you were the Bentrude to begin with. I think that's right. I'm not sure, but I think that's right. So I was halfway right. But, anyhow, I said they was killing me with kindness. And that's just about the way it went. So we are very grateful.

E-3 Et j’ai appris aujourd’hui par le frère de Dawson Creek (Je l’appelle frère Eddie) que mon vieil ami–notre vieil ami, frère Durney, est toujours en vie et que... Je crois qu’un autre missionnaire venant de là-bas m’a apporté la nouvelle que Della fut guérie quand elle a placé ce mouchoir sur un de ses seins qui avait une tumeur. J’en suis si heureux. Et j’apprends que monsieur Durney qui est malade... Et je désire lui rendre visite aussitôt que j’arriverai à Dawson Creek, pour aller lui parler du salut et–du Seigneur; en effet, il m’a fait la promesse quand je quittais qu’il–il prierait et demanderait à Dieu de l’aider.
C’est un vieil homme très gentil, qui a passé sa vie dans les bois et qui n’avait jamais douté au sujet de Dieu, je pense; mais maintenant, peut-être, pendant qu’il est sur son lit, je peux donc lui parler vraiment. C’est pourquoi des fois Dieu doit faire en sorte que nous soyons étendus sur le dos pour nous amener à regarder en haut, vous savez. C’est... Il a une manière de faire les choses.
Et il m’a écrit une lettre au sujet de sa fille, et il m’a parlé d’elle, et il a dit que c’était l’unique fille qu’il avait, qui ne fume pas et ne fait pas ce genre d’histoires, et qu’il était si content d’elle. Et puis un autre frère missionnaire de là-haut est venu, et il m’a parlé d’une merveilleuse chose que le Seigneur Jésus a faite pour eux. Et je–j’ai confiance que Dieu continuera à être avec eux.
| E-3 And I understood today through the brother from Dawson Creek (I call him Brother Eddie) that my old friend--our old friend Brother Durney is still living, and that... I believe another missionary from up there brought me word that Della was healed when she put that handkerchief on her breast with the tumor. I'm so happy for that. And I hear that Mr. Durney being sick... And I want to visit him as soon as I get to Dawson Creek, and go talk to him about salvation and--of the Lord; because he promised me when I left that he would--he would pray, and would ask God to help him.
A very fine old man, that's just lived his life in the bushes and never taken the second thought of God, I guess; but now, maybe, while he's on his bed I can really talk to him now. So, sometimes God has to lay us on our back to make us look up, you know. That's... He has a way of doing things.
But he wrote me a letter about his daughter, and told me about her, and said she was the only daughter he had that didn't smoke and things, and he was so glad for her. And then another brother missionary from up there come and told me about the wonderful thing that the Lord Jesus had did for them. And I--I'm trusting that God will continue to be with them.

E-4 Maintenant, ce petit rassemblement et ce petit moment de communion... Je ne savais pas qu’il y avait un si grand nombre de prédicateurs dans la contrée. Franchement, je ne le savais pas. C’est une bonne chose. Bien, je suis heureux de voir que vous avez de bons leaders spirituels ici, qui vous enseigneront la voie du Seigneur. Et je suis ici pour... juste en réponse à la prière, et pour courir sur le terrain qu’ils ont déblayé. S’il y a des mérites à décerner, décernez-les aux hommes qui sont venus ici et qui ont établi l’oeuvre. Et ils ont prié, et ils ont cru que Dieu ferait ces choses dans les derniers jours, et ils vous ont enseigné qu’elles arriveraient, et voici qu’elles s’accomplissent maintenant juste sous nos yeux.
Eh bien, nous voulons que vous vous souveniez que la prière est la plus grande force qui existe au monde... c’est la prière. La prière amène même Dieu à changer d’avis. Combien savent cela? C’est juste. Un jour, Dieu a dit à un prophète: «Va dire au roi Ezéchias, a-t-Il dit, va lui dire de mettre sa maison en ordre, car il va mourir.» Et ensuite, quand le prophète Esaïe (Pourriez-vous tout simplement imaginer l’embarras de ce prophète?), quand il longeait la rue, et que les pauvres gens à l’extérieur disaient: «Oh! grand prophète, quelle est la Parole de l’Eternel pour notre noble roi?»
«AINSI PARLE L’ETERNEL, il va mourir.»
Les soldats qui se tenaient là à la porte dirent: «Oh! grand prophète, quelle est la Parole de l’Eternel concernant notre roi?»
«AINSI PARLE L’ETERNEL, il va mourir.»
Et à Ezéchias qui a posé la question sur sa maladie: «Tu vas mourir, tu ne vas pas descendre de ce lit.»
Et il savait que c’était là la Parole de l’Eternel; alors il tourna son visage contre le mur et pleura amèrement. Il dit: «Seigneur, je T’en supplie, considère-moi. J’ai marché devant Toi avec intégrité de coeur. (C’est un grand témoignage.) J’ai marché devant Toi avec intégrité de coeur.» Et il avait besoin de vivre quinze ans de plus.
| E-4 Now, this little get together and time of fellowship... I didn't know there was this many preachers in the country. Honest, I didn't know that. That's fine. Well, I'm glad to see you got good spiritual leaders here, and they'll teach you the way of the Lord. And I am here to--just in answer to prayer, and to running over the ground that they have laid. If there's any credit to be given, give it to the men who came in here and established the work. And they prayed and have believed that God would do these things in the last days, and has taught you that they would happen, and here they are happening now right before our eyes.
Now, we want you to remember that prayer is the most mighty force that there is in the world--is prayer. Prayer even changes the mind of God. How many know that? That's right. God told a prophet one day, "Go up and tell a king, Hezekiah," said, "go tell him to set his house in order, 'cause he's going to die." And then when prophet Isaiah (could you just imagine the embarrassment of that prophet?) when he went up along the side, and the poor people outside the gates, "Oh, great prophet, what is the word of the Lord for our noble king?"
"THUS SAITH THE LORD, he's going to die."
The stood the soldiers at the gate, "Oh, great prophet, what is the word of the Lord from our king?
"THUS SAITH THE LORD, he's going to die."
Hezekiah asked his condition: "Going to die, you're not coming off of this bed."
And he knowed that was the Word of the Lord, so he turned his face to the wall and wept bitterly. Said, "Lord, I beseech Thee to consider me. I've walked before You with a perfect heart. (That's a great testimony.) I've walked before You with a perfect heart." He wanted fifteen more years of life.

E-5 Maintenant, normalement si Dieu voulait le lui accorder... Il était le plus grand homme du–du royaume. Normalement Dieu aurait juste dit: «D’accord, Ezéchias, Je... Ezéchias, Je vais te laisser vivre encore quinze ans.» Mais vous voyez, Dieu a un système, une façon de faire les choses. Au lieu de cela, Dieu est descendu dans la petite tonnelle broussailleuse, quelque part dans les bois où se trouvait le prophète Esaïe, et Il a dit: «Retourne lui dire que Je l’ai entendu. Je vais le lui accorder.» Eh bien, voyez-vous, la prière a changé les choses. Vous voyez, la prière a changé les choses.
Eh bien, quel embarras pour ce prophète en revenant! Et les gens ont demandé: «Pourquoi retournes-tu, prophète de l’Eternel?»
«AINSI PARLE L’ETERNEL, il va vivre.»
Les soldats ont dit: «Qu’en est-il?»
«AINSI PARLE L’ETERNEL, il va vivre.» Vous voyez, qu’est-ce qui a fait cela? Il est simplement passé de la mort à la vie; la prière a changé les choses, elle a changé la situation de la mort à la vie. Elle fera la même chose pour vous. Elle fera la même chose pour moi. Ça dépend de notre attitude envers Dieu.
| E-5 Now, looks like that if God wanted to grant it to him... He was the greatest man in the--in the kingdom, look like He would just have said, "All right, Hezekiah, I--Hezekiah I'm going to let you live for fifteen more years." But you see, God has a system, the way to do things. Instead of that, God went down into the little brush arbor out into the bush somewhere where Isaiah the prophet was, and said, "Go back and tell him that I heard him. I'm going to grant it to him." Now, see, prayer changed things. See, prayer changed things.
Well, the embarrassment that prophet coming back, "Why are you returning, prophet of the Lord?"
"THUS SAITH THE LORD, he's going to live."
The soldiers, "What about it?"
"THUS SAITH THE LORD, he's going to live." See, what did it? From just from death unto life, prayer changed it, changed the situation from death to life. It'll do the same thing for you. It'll do the same thing for me. It's our attitude towards God.

E-6 Et maintenant, souvenez-vous que si vous avez demandé quelque chose et que vous ne croyiez pas dans votre coeur que–que cela va arriver, cela n’arrivera pas, peu importe le nombre de fois que vous demandez. Mais quand vous croyez réellement, rien ne va empêcher cela d’arriver. Cela–cela doit se produire. Forcément.
J’ai cinquante-deux ans, et je suis dans le ministère depuis... ça fait environ trente et un ans. Et je vois ces visions se produire depuis que je n’avais que deux ans, quand la première vision est venue. Je crois que les dons et les appels sont sans repentir. Je crois que ce sont–ce sont des dons qui nous sont donnés par la pensée de Dieu Lui-même.
Or, il y a neuf dons spirituels qui opèrent dans chaque corps local. Nous croyons cela: 1 Corinthiens 12. Mais il y a cinq dons qui ont été ordonnés par Dieu pour l’Eglise, les dons du Corps. Quel est le premier? Les apôtres, et ce n’est pas... En fait, en notre temps c’est un missionnaire, parce qu’apôtre et missionnaire signifient exactement la même chose. Missionnaire veut dire un envoyé. Apôtre veut dire un envoyé. Les apôtres, les prophètes, les docteurs, les pasteurs, les évangélistes (voyez-vous?), cinq dons. Or, un homme ne peut pas être un apôtre parce qu’il désire l’être. C’est Dieu qui établit ces dons dans l’Eglise. Et cet homme ne peut pas être un prophète parce qu’il veut l’être.
| E-6 And now remember, that if you've asked anything and do not believe in your heart that--that it's going to happen, it won't happen, no matter how many times you ask. But when you do believe, there's nothing to keep it from happening. It's--it's got to take place. It just has to.
I'm fifty-two years old and I've been in the ministry for... this is about thirty-one years. And I have knowed of these visions happening ever since I was yet no more than two years old when the first vision come. I believe that gifts and callings are without repentance. I believe they are--they are gifts that are give to us by God's own mind.
Now, there's nine spiritual gifts that goes in every local body. We believe that: I Corinthians 12. But there is five gifts that's ordained of God for the church, the body gifts. What is the first? Apostles, and that is not... Really, in our day it's a missionary, because apostle and a missionary is the very same word. A "missionary" means "one sent." "Apostle" means "one sent." Apostles, prophets, teachers, pastors, evangelists (See?), five gifts. Now, a man cannot be an apostle because he wants to be. God sets those in the church. And he cannot be a prophet because he wants to be.

E-7 Maintenant, il y a des dons de prophétie dans l’église, mais il y a une grande différence entre le don de prophétie et un prophète. Voyez-vous? Un don de prophétie doit être éprouvé par trois juges et être jugé avant même que cela ne puisse être présenté à l’église, pour voir si la chose est juste. Ça pourrait se manifester chez cette femme-ci ce soir pour ne plus jamais revenir le reste de sa vie. Ça pourrait se manifester chez cette femme-ci le soir suivant, et chez cet homme-là le soir suivant. Vous voyez, ce sont–ce sont des dons locaux dans le corps. Mais la prophétie est un office: un prophète l’est depuis la naissance (Voyez-vous?), c’est inné.
Jérémie était un prophète, Dieu a dit: «Avant même que tu ne fusses formé dans le sein de ta mère, Je te connaissais, Je t’avais consacré et établi prophète des nations.» Jean-Baptiste, sept cent douze ans avant sa naissance, Esaïe l’avait vu et a dit: «La voix de celui qui crie dans le désert», le prophète de l’Eternel. Jésus-Christ était le Fils de Dieu depuis le jardin d’Eden, la Semence de la femme qui devait écraser la tête du serpent.
| E-7 Now, there's gifts of prophecy in the church, but there's a lot of difference between gifts of prophecy and a prophet. See? A gift of prophecy has to stand before three judges and be judged before it could even be give to the church, whether it's right. It could be on this woman tonight, and never come again the rest of her life. Might be on this woman the next night, and that man the next night. See, it's--it's local gifts in the body. But prophecy is an office: a prophet that's from birth (See?), comes from birth.
Jeremiah was a prophet, God said, "Before you was even formed in you mother's wombs, I knowed you, and sanctified you, and ordained you a prophet to the nations." John the Baptist, seven hundred and twelve years before he was born, Isaiah saw him: "The voice of one crying in the wilderness," prophet of the Lord. Jesus Christ was the Son of God from the garden of Eden, the woman's Seed that was to bruise the serpent's head.

E-8 C’est comme Upshaw, le vieux membre du Congrès, le disait: «Vous ne pouvez pas être ce que vous n’êtes pas. Un membre du Congrès des Etats-Unis, qui avait posé sa candidature à la présidence. C’était un homme avisé, mais simplement–simplement il utilisait mon langage, ma façon de le dire. Mais c’est la vérité. Vous ne pouvez être que... Et c’est là notre problème aujourd’hui, les amis. On dirait que le monde entier est comme ça. Si seulement nous étions ce que Dieu nous a appelés à être, cela... alors vous êtes–vous êtes–vous êtes... alors la trompette ne donnera pas un son confus. Elle donnera un son clair, et tout le monde le saura (Voyez-vous?), quand le son que ça produit est correct.
Et ainsi un ministre ne peut pas être ministre parce que son papa et sa mère veulent qu’il soit ministre. Il doit être appelé de Dieu pour être un ministre. Rien ne réjouirait plus mon coeur que de savoir que mon fils Billy Paul était un ministre. Mais l’envoyer à l’école pour faire de lui un ministre, je préférerais qu’il soit un nettoyeur de crachoirs que d’être cela, quelque chose qu’il n’est pas. Voyez-vous? Excusez cette expression rude. Je n’aurais pas dû dire cela. Voyez-vous? Ici ça n’a pas l’air bien, mais vous comprenez ce que je veux dire. Je préférerais qu’il ait été autre chose.
| E-8 As old Congressman Upshaw said, "You can't be nothing that you hain't." A congressman of the United States, run for president. He knowed better, but he just--he just used my language, my way of expressing it. But that is true. You can just be... And that's what's the matter with us today, friends. All the whole world seems to be that way. If we would just be what God makes us to be, that--then you're--you're--you're... The trumpet will not give an uncertain sound then. It'll give a certain sound, and all the world will know it (You see?) when it's sounded right.
And so, a minister cannot be a minister because his papa and mother wants him to be a minister. He has to be called of God to be a minister. There would've been nothing do my heart any better than to know that my son Billy Paul would've been a minister. But to send him to school and make a minister out of him, I'd rather he'd be a spittoon cleaner than to have been that, something that he's not. See? Excuse that rude expression. I shouldn't have said that. See? Doesn't sound nice here, but you know what I mean. I'd rather he would've been something else.

E-9 Mais Dieu a utilisé Billy. Il a été pour moi un bras droit, mon fils. Parce que lorsque nous avons commencé à distribuer les cartes de prière au début, on a fini par découvrir que... D’abord nous avions un homme là, un ministre. Nous avions d’énormes difficultés en rapport avec les cartes de prière. D’abord, nous les envoyions à chaque... là où nous allions tenir une réunion. Tous les pasteurs qui parrainaient ces réunions recevaient une centaine de cartes pour leurs assemblées. Le premier pasteur faisait entrer son groupe. Et c’était terminé. Les autres n’y entraient pas.
Ainsi donc on a commencé, et on a dit: «Eh bien, nous allons descendre le premier jour où nous arriverons là, et nous allons distribuer toutes les cartes de prière.» Et maintenant, ce n’est pas pour les réunions des petites églises; c’est pour les grands amphithéâtres. Et ainsi, bien, le premier jour nous devions distribuer deux cents, trois cents cartes de prière. Cela ne faisait du bien à personne de venir en retard, parce que les gens de façon certaine n’entraient pas dans la ligne de prière, étant donné que nous ne pouvions pas les prendre toutes. Tout ce que nous pouvions faire, c’était prendre juste quatre, cinq, ou six personnes par soirée. Voyez-vous? Et ensuite, ce que nous essayons après cela, nous demandions à un ministre de distribuer les cartes de prière. Eh bien, on a fini par découvrir que lorsqu’il allait dans une ville... Et sa propre organisation, il devait leur faire une petite faveur, sinon on l’excommuniait, ainsi, ou bien cela provoquait des ressentiments.
| E-9 But God has used Billy. He's been a right hand man to me, my son. Because when we first started giving prayer cards out, we come to find that... Had one man in there, first was a minister. We had an awful time about prayer cards. The first, we would send them to every... where we was going to have a meeting. All the sponsoring pastors would get a hundred cards for their congregation. The first pastor got his group in. That about settled it. The rest didn't get there.
So then we started, said, "Well, we'll go down the first day we come and give out all the prayer cards." And now, that's not for little church meetings; that's for the big auditoriums. And so, well, the first day we'd have to give out couple, three hundred prayer cards. It didn't do anybody any good to come in late, 'cause they sure didn't get in the prayer line, 'cause we couldn't take it all up. Four, five, or six a night just done all we could do. See? And, then, the next we had, we had a minister to give out the prayer cards. Well, come to find out when he'd run into the city... And his own organization, he had to show a little favor to them or they'd excommunicate him, so, or cause hard feelings.

E-10 Et ensuite, j’ai placé là juste un homme ordinaire, et j’ai découvert qu’il cherchait à vendre des cartes de prière. La garantie.... Un homme a dit: «Si vous garantissez que mon épouse sera dans la première rangée, je vous donnerai cinq cents dollars.» Et quelqu’un a entendu cela par hasard, et la chose fut connue avant que cela ne se passe. Ainsi donc cela a mis un terme à la chose. Et ensuite j’ai pris mon frère. J’étais sûr que lui ne vendrait pas une seule carte de prière.
Et c’est ce que le monde cherche, vous savez, quelque chose comme ça. Mais quiconque connaît les réunions, l’argent est la dernière chose dans nos réunions. J’ai essayé de garder un nom propre et honorable. Je n’ai jamais de ma vie prélevé une offrande. Cela fait trente et un ans que je prêche. Je n’ai jamais de ma vie prélevé une offrande, et je n’en ai jamais demandé une, et je n’en ai jamais eu l’intention. Ce n’est pas... Nous ne venons pas pour l’argent. Nous sommes venus pour voir ce que nous pouvons faire de bien, pour essayer de mettre la main à la pâte avec ces frères ici, pour les aider à tirer la charge ensemble. C’est là notre but.
Ces dons pourraient–pourraient faire de moi un multimillionnaire en quelques jours. Vous savez ce que c’est. Oui, je pense que vous avez lu dans le journal que ce multimillionnaire de Californie m’a envoyé un million cinq cent mille dollars dans une seule offrande. Les agents du FBI ont amené cela à... «Eh bien, ai-je dit, je ne voudrai même pas regarder cela.» Voyez-vous? J’ai dit: «Je ne prends pas l’argent.» Je ne pourrais pas avoir d’argent, de telles choses. Oh! miséricorde. Moi? Je n’ai pas... Je n’ai même pas la capacité mentale pour m’occuper d’autant d’argent. Ainsi donc, qu’arriverait-il si je prenais cela? Je serais préoccupé par cela. Voyez-vous? Que les autres soient préoccupés par cela. Si j’en ai besoin, le Seigneur dira: «Donnez-lui autant.» Voyez-vous? Ainsi donc, c’est en ordre...?...
| E-10 And then I put just an ordinary man in, and found him trying to sell prayer cards. Guarantee... A man said, "If you'll guarantee my wife will be in the front row, I'll give you five hundred dollars." And somebody overheard it, and got it in--in before it happened. So then that stopped that. And then I taken my brother. I knowed he wouldn't sell a prayer card.
And that's what the world will be looking for, you know, something like that. But anyone that knows the meetings, money has been the last thing in our meetings. I've tried to hold a good clean name. I never took an offering in my life. I've been preaching thirty-one years. Never took an offering in my life, and never asked for one, never intend to. That's not... We don't come for money. We come to see what good we can do, try to pitch in with these brothers here to help pull the load along. That's what it's for.
These gifts could--could make me a multimillionaire in a few day's time. You know what it is. Yeah, I guess you read in the paper where that multimillionaire in California sent me one million five hundred thousand in one offering. The FBI agents brought it to... "Well," I said, "I'll even refuse to look at it." See? I said, "I don't take money." I couldn't have no money, such things as that. Oh, mercy. Me? I ain't got... I haven't got the mental powers to take care of that much money. So then, what if it would? I'd have to worry with it. See? Let them worry with it. If I need it, the Lord will say, "Give him so much," You see? So then, that's all right...?...

E-11 Je ne... Je parlais, frère Roberts, Oral Roberts, cette très vaillante âme, frère Roberts... Il faut à cet homme environ dix mille dollars par jour. Fiou! Eh bien, Dieu savait ce qu’Il faisait quand Il ne m’a pas confié cette responsabilité-là. Je ne saurais certainement pas faire cela. Dix mille dollars par jour, cela me rendrait fou de devoir chercher dix mille dollars par jour. Et l’autre... Eh bien, maintenant, qu’en serait-il si je devais avoir dix mille dollars par jour, et que le Seigneur m’appelait à venir ici à Grande Prairie, que ferais-je à ce sujet? Voyez-vous? Je–je n’ai pas de programmes radio, je n’ai rien à vendre, et je ne suis pas obligé d’avoir dix cents par jour. Voyez-vous?
La seule chose que je dois faire, c’est juste de demeurer libre de toutes choses, de sorte que je puisse aller partout où Il me dit d’aller. S’il s’agit d’aller dans un... J’ai tenu un réveil de deux soirées à un endroit où il n’y avait que trente personnes. Je sais que c’était minable. Il faisait environ moins dix degrés, et les gens se tenaient là en train de geler, avec de petits bébés malades et tout. Mais le Seigneur m’a dit d’aller, alors je–je suis simplement allé. Et si donc Il veut que j’aille en Afrique pour prêcher à cent mille, deux cent mille personnes, Il va placer sur le coeur de quelqu’un de m’envoyer un chèque pour que j’y aille, alors je peux y aller. Ainsi, voyez-vous, mon Père possède toutes ces choses, et je n’ai pas à m’inquiéter là-dessus. Juste... J’aime être comme cela, de sorte que je puisse simplement aller partout où Il me dit d’aller. Voyez-vous?
| E-11 I don't--I was talking to Oral Roberts, the great gallant soul, Brother Roberts. That man has to have around ten thousand dollars a day. Whew! Well, God knowed what He was doing when He didn't put that responsibility on me. I sure couldn't do that. Ten thousand dollars a day, that'd run me wild to have to get ten thousand a day. And the other... Well, now, what if I had to have ten thousand a day, and the Lord called me to come up here to Grande Prairie, what would I do about it? See? I--I don't have any radio programs, don't have nothing to sell, and I don't have to have ten cents a day. See?
Only thing I have to do is just keep myself free from all things, so I can go wherever He tells me. If it's down to a... I held a revival of two nights in a place that held thirty people. I know it was miserable. It was about ten below zero, and just stand out there freezing, with little sick babies and things. But the Lord told me to go, so I--I just went. And then if He wants me to go to Africa to preach to a hundred thousand, two-hundred thousand, He puts on somebody's heart to send me a check to go over, so I just go on over. So, see, My Father owns all of it, and I don't have to worry about it. Just... I like to be like that, where I can just go wherever He tells me to go. See?

E-12 Oh! la la! Chris, nous ne pourrions pas aller chasser l’ours s’il me fallait avoir dix mille dollars chaque jour. Je–je ne pourrais tout simplement pas le faire. Mais je suis heureux d’être tout simplement libre, ainsi, je peux venir vers mes frères, ce jeune frère qui a une toute petite église, ou partout où le Seigneur conduira, aller simplement là où Il conduit. C’est ainsi que j’aime être: libre (Voyez-vous?), sans rien qui me lie ou qui me retient, et prêt à aller partout, n’importe quand, quoi qu’Il dise de faire. Et j’ai découvert que c’est une vie glorieuse, une très bonne vie.
Et j’ai... peux dire ceci sincèrement du haut de cette chaire (en fait, ça pourrait être le dernier message que j’apporte à la race humaine). Voyez-vous? J’ai accompli cinquante-deux ans l’autre jour, et jamais de ma vie je n’ai demandé quelque chose sincèrement à Dieu sans qu’Il ne me l’accorde, ou qu’Il me dise la raison pour laquelle Il ne pouvait pas me l’accorder. Eh bien, c’est exact. Bien des fois, j’ai demandé des choses, et Il me les a refusées, cependant Il m’a dit la raison. Et Sa voie a toujours été la meilleure. Et j’ai découvert que s’Il me l’avait accordé, je–cela m’aurait ruiné. Voyez-vous? C’est pourquoi j’avance tout simplement, et je dis: «Seigneur, tout ce que Tu veux que je fasse, me voici.» Et ainsi Il prend toujours soin de moi.
| E-12 My, Chris, we couldn't go bear hunting if I had to have ten thousand dollars every day. I--I just couldn't do it. But I'm glad just to be free, so I can come to my brethren, the little brother has got a little bitty church, or wherever the Lord leads, just go where He leads. That's the way I like to be: free (See?), nothing to bind me or hold me, and ready to go anywhere, anytime, whatever He says do. And I've found it a great life, very fine.
And I have can say this sincerely from this pulpit (which may be the last message I ever bring to the human race). See? I'm fifty-two the other day, and I have never in my life ever sincerely asked God for anything, but what He gave it to me, or told me why He couldn't do it. Now, that's right. Many times I've asked for things, He's refused me, but He'd tell me why. And it's always His way is best. And I find out if He'd have give it to me, I--it would've ruined me. You see? So I just go along, say, "Lord, whatever You want me to have, here I am." And so He always takes care of me.

E-13 Mais observez dans les réunions, chaque fois que vous entendez... Pendant le discernement, Il vous révèle les choses; c’est vous-même qui produisez cela. Vous ne le savez pas, mais c’est votre propre esprit, comme la femme qui avait touché Son vêtement. Mais quand Il répond, ça c’est ce que vous tirez vous-même de Dieu. Voyez-vous, Dieu n’utilisait pas Son don. Nous savons tous que Dieu était en Christ, réconciliant le monde avec Lui-même. Or, nous savons que Jésus-Christ, la plénitude de la Divinité habite en Lui corporellement. Mais en ce qui nous concerne, nous avons l’Esprit avec mesure, Il est donné à chacun pour l’utilité commune.
Maintenant, disons cependant par exemple ceci: si je me rendais ici à l’océan et prenais une cuillerée d’eau de l’océan; vous ne manquerez pas cela. Voyez-vous? Mais je pourrais amener cette cuillerée d’eau au laboratoire, et elle contiendra les mêmes éléments chimiques que ceux que contient l’océan entier. Ce n’est pas la même quantité. Eh bien, alors, quand nous pensons à l’Esprit de Christ que nous avons en nous (Voyez-vous?), c’est juste une cuillerée par rapport à ce qui était en Lui. Voyez-vous? Le tout était en Lui. Tout ce que Dieu était, Il l’a déversé en Christ; tout ce que Christ était, Il l’a déversé dans l’Eglise.
| E-13 But watch in the meetings, whenever you hear... When the discernment is on, He's telling you; you're doing that yourself. You don't know it, but it's your own spirit, like the woman touching His garment. But when He speaks back, that's what you're pulling, yourself, from God. See, God wasn't using his gift. All of us know that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself. Now, we know that Christ Jesus, the Fulness of the Godhead bodily dwells in Him. But to us, we have the Spirit by measure, given to each one to profit withal.
Now, but say, for instance, if I went out here to the ocean and took a spoonful of water out of the ocean, you'd never miss it. See? But I could take that spoonful of water to the laboratory, and it's got the same chemicals in it that the entire ocean's got. It's just not as much of it. Well, then, when we think of the Spirit of Christ that we have in us (See?), it's just a spoonful to what was in Him. See? He had all of it in Him. All that God was, He poured into Christ; all that Christ was, He poured into the Church.

E-14 Combien de pentecôtistes y a-t-il ici? Faites voir vos mains, les pentecôtistes. Très bien. Savez-vous ce que Dieu a fait le jour de la Pentecôte? Et des langues, semblables à des langues de feu, leur apparurent, séparées les unes des autres, et se posèrent sur chacun d’eux. Et ils furent tous remplis du Saint-Esprit, et se mirent à parler en d’autres langues, selon que l’Esprit leur donnait de s’exprimer.
Or, nous savons que Dieu était cette Colonne de Feu qui conduisait les enfants d’Israël dans le désert. Qu’est-ce que Dieu était en train de faire alors? Il séparait... Ces langues de feu étaient cette grande Colonne de Feu qui se séparait, se divisait parmi Son peuple.

The Bible said they were gathered and praying in the upper room, and suddenly there came a sound from heaven as a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were setting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like fire, and It set upon each of them, and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and begin to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Now, we know that God was that Pillar of Fire that led the children of Israel through the wilderness. What was God doing then? He was separating... Them tongues of fire was the separating, that big Pillar of Fire, and dividing Himself among His people.

Nous nous battons les uns contre les autres (Voyez-vous?), mais lorsque ce mur est démoli, que nous ne sommes pas divisés, et que tous les frères nous sommes un (Voyez-vous?), que nous avons tous un seul Esprit en Christ, que Dieu se divise parmi nous tous, afin que nous soyons ensemble la grande Eglise rachetée du Dieu vivant, alors vous allez voir quelque chose arriver à ce moment-là.
| E-15 Then, brethren, what ought we could do? Brother, my, together we'll stand; divided we'll fall. So what the great... If the great church of God, if the devil can get into them and make them say, "I'm this, and you, because you belong to this we just can't associate together," he won't have to shoot a shot. We're fighting one another (See?), but when that wall is broke down, and we are not divided, all one brethren are we (See?), all one Spirit in Christ, God dividing Himself among us together, that together we might be the great ransomed Church of the living God. Then you're going to see something happen then.

Oui, j’aime parler de ceci. Savez-vous que certaines personnes pensent ainsi, que parce que la chose ne se produit pas instantanément, c’est cela–c’est tout, que Dieu ne vous a pas entendu? C’est une erreur. Si vous croyez la chose, elle s’est produite. Mais si vous n’avez pas cru la chose, eh bien, cela ne change rien, cela n’arrivera pas de toute façon. Mais si vous croyez la chose, c’est un produit fini à l’instant même, quand vous–quand vous croyez la chose.
Eh bien, il y a tant de choses dont je pourrais parler. Une fois, il y avait quelques petites femmes. J’aime parler de cela, parce que je n’ai jamais oublié cela. C’était à l’estrade. Une petite dame est montée à l’estrade, une petite ménagère, une petite mère. Et le Saint-Esprit lui a dit: «Vous êtes telle personne, vous–vous êtes madame Untel.»
«Oui, Oui.»
«Et vous souffrez d’une affection de l’estomac qui est... Vous étiez chez un médecin il y a quelques jours, et il vous a dit que vous aviez un ulcère de l’estomac.»
«Oui, c’est vrai.»
«Votre mari travaille à tel endroit...»
«Oui, c’est vrai», tout ça.
| E-16 Now, noticing, when He speaks to you, if He speaks back "It's THUS SAITH THE LORD, certain-certain things will happen." Now, you put that down. You might not be able to see a--a scratch difference right then. Maybe some time that you will not see it. God makes a promise, but He keeps His promise. Yeah, I like to refer to this. Did you know that some people just think that, because it doesn't happen instantly, that's that--that's all, that God didn't hear you? That's a mistake. If you believe it, it happened. But if you didn't believe it, why, it don't make any difference, it wouldn't happen anyhow. But if you believe it, it's a finished product right then, when you--when you believe it.
Now, there's so many things I could refer to. One time there was a couple of little women. I like to refer to that, because it always stuck with me. It was on the platform. There was a little lady came up on the platform, and a little housewife, little mother. And the Holy Spirit said to her, "You are so-and-so, you--you're a certain-certain woman."
"Yes, yes,"
"And you suffer with a stomach trouble which is... You was at a doctor a few days ago, and he told you you had a gastric ulcer."
"Yes, that is so."
"Your husband works at a certain-certain..."
"Yes, that is so," all this.

E-17 Puis, comme elle quittait, alors l’Esprit a parlé disant: «AINSI DIT LE SEIGNEUR, vous êtes guérie.»
Oh! la la! cela doit s’accomplir. Cela doit tout simplement s’accomplir.
Alors elle est rentrée chez elle, et elle a dit: «Eh bien, je suis guérie. Mon mari, avant que je n’arrive là, je désire que tu m’achètes un hamburger.» Cela a failli la tuer. Quelques jours plus tard, elle était toujours... Elle devenait tellement malade quand elle mangeait.
Et finalement, son mari a dit: «Tu jettes l’opprobre sur la cause.» Il a dit: «Tu ne devrais pas témoigner de cela.»
Deux semaines s’écoulèrent. Elle essayait toujours de manger. Elle était toute aussi malade quand elle prenait cela... Son mari est allé voir le médecin et lui en a parlé. Ce dernier a dit: «Cela va la tuer.»
Il a dit... Mais la femme a dit: «Ecoute. Cet homme ne me connaissait pas, et si un Esprit qui se tenait là, ou avec lui, a pu lui dire qui j’étais et quelle était ma maladie, je crois que c’était l’Esprit de Dieu.» Et elle a dit: «C’est indubitable, il a dit: ‘AINSI DIT LE SIGNEUR.’» Elle a dit: «Je crois cela. C’est juste. Je crois cela.»
| E-17 Then she started off, and then the Spirit spoke "THUS SAITH THE LORD, you're healed."
Oh, my, that has to happen. That just has to happen.
Then she went home, and she said "Well, I'm healed. Husband, before I get there, I want you to buy me a hamburger." It like to killed her. Couple days later she was still... She'd get so sick when she eat.
And her husband finally said, "You're bringing a reproach upon the cause." Said, "You shouldn't testify that."
Two weeks passed. She was still trying to eat. Just as sick as when she'd take it... Her husband went to the doctor, told him. Said, "It'll kill her."
Said... But she said, "Look. That man did not know me, and if a Spirit was standing there, or with him, that could tell him who I was and what my trouble was, I believe it was the Spirit of God." And she said, "Live or die, he spoke 'THUS SAITH THE LORD.'" Said, "I believe it. That's right. I believe it."

E-18 Quelques matins après cela, ce qui faisait environ quatre semaines après qu’on avait prié pour elle... Vous voyez, cela ne voulait pas dire qu’elle n’était pas guérie. Elle était guérie à l’instant même. Abraham reçut une promesse selon laquelle il recevrait un fils, et c’était vingt-cinq ans plus tard, qu’il le reçut, mais il était fortifié dans la foi, rendant gloire à Dieu. C’est ainsi que devraient être les véritables pentecôtistes, la postérité d’Abraham.
Alors un matin, elle a dit... Eh bien, je–j’étais alors à environ trois cents miles [483 km] de cette ville-là, dans d’autres réunions de réveil, et elle est venue dans cette ville pour témoigner. Elle a dit que ce matin-là, son mari était allé au travail. Elle a dit: «Oh! mon estomac brûlait.» Et elle a dit: «Au bout d’un moment, je faisais la vaisselle, et je pleurais.» Elle a dit qu’elle se disait tout simplement: «Ô Dieu! que Tu es grand. Que Tu es grand! Tu fais briller le soleil. Tu–Tu fais toutes ces choses glorieuses.» Et elle a dit: «Que Tu es grand, ô Dieu», comme cela, louant tout simplement Son Nom.
| E-18 Couple mornings after that, which had been somewhat four weeks after she'd been prayed for... See, that didn't mean she wasn't healed. She was healed right then. Abraham was given a promise that he'd receive a son, and twenty-five years later before he got it, but he was strong in faith, giving praise to God. That's what real Pentecostals ought to be, Abraham's seed.
So one morning, she said... Well, I--I was then about three hundred miles away from the place, in another revival meeting, and she come to the place to testify. She said her husband went to work that morning. She said, "Oh, my stomach was burning." And she said, "After while, I was washing my dishes, and I was weeping." She said, just thinking, "O God, how great You are. How great! You make the sun to shine. You--you do all these great things." And said, "How great Thou art, O God," like that, just praising His Name.

E-19 Pendant qu’elle se tenait là, elle a dit qu’une sensation très étrange l’a parcourue. Et elle a dit qu’elle a pensé: «Je me demande ce que c’est.» Eh bien, vous n’avez pas besoin de sentir quelque chose. Jésus n’a jamais dit: «Avez-vous senti cela?» Il a dit: «Avez-vous cru cela?» Voyez-vous? Croyez cela.
Mais alors, elle a senti quelque chose la parcourir. Elle a dit: «Eh bien, je ne sais pas ce que c’est.» Elle a dit: «Une sensation étrange. Je me sens si bien.» Elle a tout simplement continué. Elle a dit: «Peut-être que j’étais juste en train de louer le Seigneur; c’est le Saint-Esprit qui m’a bénie.» Elle a continué à faire la vaisselle.
Elle eut très faim. Alors (je pense que toutes les mamans sont comme ça), les enfants avaient laissé un peu d’avoine dans l’assiette. Alors elle eut très faim. Et l’avoine est quelque chose qui la brûlerait vraiment. Elle a donc pris juste une cuillerée d’avoine ou deux et en a mangé. Après donc qu’elle eut avalé cela, elle s’est dit: «Eh bien, ça ne peut pas brûler davantage.» Mais après quelques moments, cela ne brûlait pas. Elle a donc pris quelques cuillerées de plus: cela ne l’a pas dérangée. Ensuite elle a pris un morceau de toast; cela ne l’a pas dérangée. Elle est donc tout simplement allée frire deux omelettes, et elle s’est donc apprêté quelques toasts, et une tasse de café, et elle a eu un jubilé gastronomique. Elle s’est donc simplement–simplement assise et a pris un bon déjeuner. Elle a attendu environ une heure et demie, deux heures. Elle se sentait tout simplement bien, elle commençait encore à avoir faim.
| E-19 As she stood there said a real funny feeling went over her. And said she thought, "Wonder what that was?" Now, you don't have to feel nothing. Jesus never did say, "Did you feel it?" He said, "Did you believe it?" See? You believe it.
But then she felt something go over her. She said, "Well, I don't know what that was." Said, "Strange feeling. I feel so good." She just went ahead. Said, "Maybe I was just praising the Lord; it's the Holy Spirit blessed me." She went on washing dishes.
She got real hungry. So (I guess all mamas are like this), the kiddies had left some oats in the plate. So she got real hungry. And that was the thing that would just burn her up, was oats. So she just taken a spoonful or two of oats and ate. So after she'd swallowed them, she thought. "Well, it can't burn no worse." But in a few moments, it wasn't burning. So she got her a couple more spoonfuls: didn't bother her. Then she got her a piece of toast; that didn't bother her. So she just went and fried her two eggs, and got her some toast, and a cup of coffee, and had a gastronomical jubilee. So she just--she just set down and eat a good breakfast. She waited about an hour and a half, two hours. She just felt fine, getting hungry again.

E-20 Alors, elle se sentait très bien, elle a couru chez la voisine. Et sa voisine avait été plus loin dans la ligne de prière (la soirée précédente), et elle avait une énorme grosseur au cou. Et la même chose s’était produite. Tout lui fut dit au sujet de cela, il lui fut déclaré: «AINSI DIT LE SEIGNEUR, cette grosseur disparaîtra.» Et elle voulut donc courir chez sa voisine, quelques portes plus bas dans la rue, afin de lui dire ce qui c’était passé. Et elle a dit que lorsqu’elle est arrivée là, elle pensa qu’il y avait là un service funèbre ou quelque chose comme ça, avec tous les cris et ce tapage comme elle n’en avait jamais entendu. D’un mouvement brusque, elle a ouvert la porte, et voilà que cette femme était là debout, un drap à la main, et elle a dit: «Que se passe-t-il, ma chère?»
Elle a dit: «Tu sais quoi? Je me suis levée tard ce matin», et elle a dit: «Je ne peux retrouver cette chose nulle part. Cela a quitté ma gorge. J’ai secoué chaque drap et tout, je ne retrouve plus cela nulle part. Voyez-vous? Et elles étaient là toutes deux en train de témoigner.
Qu’était-ce? Quand Dieu a prononcé la chose... Cet Ange était passé dans le voisinage pour confirmer la Parole qu’Il avait prononcée au Nom du Seigneur. Voyez-vous? «Bien que cela prenne du temps, cependant cela parlera.» Est-ce juste, frères? Cela doit parler. Ainsi, gardez toujours cela à l’esprit.
| E-20 So she felt so good, she run down to the neighbor. And her neighbor had been farther down the prayer line (the night before) and had been a great big growth on her neck. And the same thing happened. Told her all about it, said, "THUS SAITH THE LORD, that growth shall disappear." And so she wanted to run to her neighbor, a few doors down the street what happened. And said when she got there she thought they was having a funeral service or something, all the screaming and going on, she ever heard. She jerked open the door, and here was the woman, standing with a sheet in her hand, and she said, "What's the matter, dear?"
She said, "You know what? I got up late this morning," and she said, "I can't find that thing anywhere. It's left my throat. I shook every sheet and everything; I can't find it nowhere." See? And here they both was, giving testimony.
What was it? When God had pronounced it... That Angel had passed through the neighborhood confirming the Word that He'd spoke in the Name of the Lord. See? "Though it tarries, yet will it speak." Is that right, brethren? It must speak. So always keep that in mind.

E-21 Oh! vous êtes si gentil que je n’arrive même pas à prendre un texte. J’ai quelque chose à l’esprit, que j’aimerais dire. Je vais juste... Vous allez patienter encore juste quelques minutes de plus, n’est-ce pas? Nous espérons donc commencer la ligne de prière dans quelques minutes.
Ainsi quand nous sommes allés en Afrique tout récemment... C’est pour vous montrer... Eh bien, je rends effectivement grâces à Dieu pour les écoles, pour les églises, et pour tout ce qu’Il a fait. Je Lui suis si reconnaissant. Mais cependant, savez-vous que ce n’était pas cela la commission? La commission générale était: «Allez par tout le monde, et prêchez la Bonne Nouvelle à toute la création.» Eh bien, pour prêcher l’Evangile, l’Evangile n’est pas venu en Parole seulement mais avec la puissance et les manifestations du Saint-Esprit. Eh bien, si vous suivez cela, je cite Marc 16: «Voici les miracles qui accompagneront ceux qui auront cru.» Le simple enseignement de la Parole ne fera pas cela. Il faut que le Saint-Esprit manifeste la Parole. Voyez-vous? Mais qu’avons-nous fait? Nous sommes allés, nous avons bâti des écoles, des organisations, des églises, et–et des hôpitaux, ce qui est très bien. Nous ne pouvons pas dire une seule chose contre cela. Mais ce n’était pas ça la pensée.
| E-21 Oh, you're so nice I can't even hardly get a text. I got something on my mind I want to say. I'll just... You'll bear with me just a few minutes extra, won't you? So we hope to get into the prayer line after a bit.
So when we went to Africa just recently... To show you... Now, I do thank God for schools, for churches, and for all that He has done. I'm so grateful to God. But yet, did you know that wasn't the commission? The general commission was, "Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature." Now, in order to preach the Gospel, the Gospel came not in word only, but through the power and the manifestations of the Holy Ghost. Now, if you follow it on down, I'm quoting Mark 16: "These signs shall follow them that believe." Just teaching the Word will not do that. It must be the Holy Spirit manifesting the Word. See? But what did we do? We went along, and made schools, and organizations, and churches, and--and hospitals, which is very nice. We cannot say one thing against them. But that wasn't the idea.

E-22 Maintenant, quand je suis allé en Afrique, je me souviens de cela... Eh bien, mes frères baptistes qui sont ici, je vous prie de ne pas... Je suis... Je vous aime. Vous êtes mes frères. Voyez-vous? Mais j’étais pendant des années un ministre baptiste missionnaire, et quand je leur racontais ces choses, cela m’effrayait à mort. Ils disaient que c’était du diable, et, oh! je ne voulais rien avoir à faire avec le diable, car j’aimais le Seigneur Jésus. Et je ne savais rien au sujet de cela, jusqu’à ce qu’Il m’est apparu et m’a dit ce que c’était.
Alors, quand je suis retourné parler au docteur Davis, le surveillant général... Et j’ai dit: «Docteur Davis, j’ai rencontré cette Personne qui me parle, et c’est un Homme. Et Il m’a dit ces choses. Il m’a dit que je dois prêcher dans le monde entier, et que ces choses arriveront.»
Et il a dit: «Avec une instruction d’école primaire, je suppose, Billy, tu vas prêcher aux rois et aux mon-...!»
J’ai dit: «C’est ce qu’Il a dit, frère.»
Il a dit: «Billy, qu’est-ce que tu avais pris comme souper ce soir-là?»
J’ai dit: «Eh bien, alors, Docteur Davis, si c’est cela, je ferais tout simplement mieux de vous remettre à l’instant même ma carte de membre, ai-je dit, car pour moi c’est Dieu. Je ne sais pas ce que c’est pour vous. Vous voyez?» Et, bien sûr, vous l’avez lu dans La Voix de la guérison; maintenant il prêche lui-même la guérison divine.
| E-22 Now, when I went to Africa I remember it... Now, my Baptist brethren here, please don't... I'm--I love you. You're my brother. See? But I was a Missionary Baptist minister for years, and when I'd tell them about these things, it scared me to death. They said it was of the devil, and, oh, I didn't want nothing to do with the devil, 'cause I loved the Lord Jesus. And never knew nothing about it till He appeared to me and told me what it was.
Now, when I come back and told Dr. Davis, general overseer... And I said, "Dr. Davis, I met that One Who talks to me, and it was a Man. And He told me these things. He told me I was to preach all around the world, and these things would take place."

Mais si aucun homme ne l’a prise pour femme alors qu’elle a atteint une certaine taille, elle doit ôter sa peinture tribale et quitter la–la tribu, parce qu’il y a quelque chose qui cloche. Si elle est... avant qu’elle ne soit mariée, ou prise comme femme, on vérifie sa virginité. Si elle est trouvée coupable, elle doit dénoncer l’homme qui a fait cela. Ils sont tués tous deux ensemble. Be a lot of deaths around the United States anyhow, if they'd search them out like that. But there's no night life among them. No, sir. They're clean, moral, as they can be.

I seen one missionary there said, "Oh, Brother Branham, I've been here twenty years. I've got one precious jewel." See, the--the--the Mohammedans came from the old race of the Medes o Persians, and they do not change or alter their laws, you know.

Si le prophète Mahomet est le serviteur de Dieu...» Ils croient en Dieu. Voyez-vous? Ils sont–ils sont les enfants d’Abraham, mais pas de la promesse. Nous comprenons cela. Voyez-vous? Ils–ils font donc retentir ce grand gong le matin et disent: «Il n’y a qu’un seul Vrai Dieu vivant, et Mahomet est son prophète.»

She said, "I believe that you can help me."
"Oh," I said, "as a Mohammedan, you should not believe that. You should believe--believe that if Mohammedan is... If the prophet Mohammed is God's servant..." They believe in God. See? They're--they're children of Abraham, but not of the promise. We understand that. See? So they--they ring that big bong of a morning and say, "There's one true and living God, and Mohammed is his prophet."

C’est pourquoi... Ils ont tous deux promis la Vie après la mort; et je n’ai pas vu un seul disciple du prophète Jésus faire ce que Lui a fait. C’est pourquoi je suis une mahométane.» C’est une réponse très bonne et raisonnable. Voyez-vous? Et j’ai dit: «Bien, Jésus donne beaucoup de joie.»
Elle a dit: «Eh bien, Mahomet peut produire autant de psychologie que la religion chrétienne. Autant d’émotion; ils peuvent crier tout autant que les chrétiens; ils peuvent éprouver toutes les émotions que nous éprouvons.» Voyez-vous? C’est juste. Si donc vous ne savez pas de quoi vous parlez, vous feriez mieux de vous tenir loin d’eux. Voyez-vous? Laissez simplement cela tranquille.

I said, "Why did you choose Mohammedan?"
She said, "Well, because that I think that... The Mohammedan religion made no promises; but the Bible of Christianity made promises, through Jesus the Prophet, that His disciples would do the same thing He did." And said, "Mohammed made no such promise. Therefore... they both promised life after death, and I've seen not one of the prophet Jesus, His disciples, doing what He did. Therefore I am a Mohammedan." That's a very good sensible answer. See?
And I said, "Well, Jesus gives a lot of joy."
She said, "Now, Mohammed can produce just as much psychology as Christian religion can. Just as much emotion; they can shout just as loud they can scream just as loud; they can go through just as much as we do." See? That's right. So if you don't know what you're talking about, you better stay away from them. See? Just leave it alone.

J’ai dit: «Combien, parmi vous les mahométans qui êtes là, connaissent cette femme?» Ils étaient nombreux à la connaître. Tous les attributs de Son salut qu’Il a acquis pour nous au Calvaire sont déjà manifestés. La seule chose qu’Il pourrait faire, c’est de prouver qu’Il était le Messie. C’est juste. Il a promis que Ses disciples feraient la même chose.»
Elle a dit: «Je comprends.»

I said, "Now, if Jesus, the Son of God, has anointed me with His Spirit, and I can tell you then, just like He would if He was standing here..." I said, "For healing you, He's already done it. All the attributes of His salvation that He purchased for us at Calvary is already over. The only thing He could do would be prove that He was Messiah. That's right. Promised His disciples to do the same."
Said, "I understand."

Pas de la théologie, mais voir la puissance de Dieu. Vous voyez, les amis... La personne suivante qui vint était une femme blanche, une Afrikaner. Il lui fut révélé qu’elle avait une grosseur au sein, mais qu’elle devait se préparer à mourir. J’avais vu son service funèbre. On l’a emportée du terrain morte. Ce même soir-là, une femme qui était morte depuis environ quatre heures, une amie au maire, fut ramenée à la vie; une jeune femme qui se mourait... Vous voyez, si je pouvais guérir, je l’aurais guérie. J’ai dit: «Je ne peux dire que ce que je vois.»

And he give you a female examination. He told you you had a cyst on the ovary. That's the truth." I said, "What about it now?"
She said, "I accept Jesus Christ as my Saviour." That afternoon nearly ten thousand Mohammedans did the same thing. See, see, see? Not theology, but to see the power of God. See, friends...
The next come was a white Afrikaans woman. Told her that she had a lump in her breast, but to prepare for death. I'd seen her funeral service. They'd taken her from the ground dead. That same night a woman had been dead about four hours, a friend to the mayor, was raised back to life again, a young woman, dying... See, if I could heal, I'd have healed her. I said, "I can only say what I see."

So then, when this little boy come up on the platform, I said, "Now, anyone can see that his eyes are crossed."
Was--was you in Africa at that time, Brother? Was you there? No, India. Oh, yeah. Well, now, maybe I'll get a chance to speak of India. Was you there when I was in India? Not there. That's where I had my greatest gathering, at Bombay: Five hundred thousand at one time. So then, there's where I seen the... Well, I can't go into that, but there was a... He's done so much; I tell you, it's wonderful.

J’ai dit: «Il est né comme ça.» J’ai dit: «Bien, sa mère et son père sont des gens minces, ce qui est étrange pour des Zoulous.» J’ai dit: «Mais il est issu d’un foyer chrétien, parce que dans leur petite hutte il y a une image de Christ du côté droit du mur, quand vous entrez.» Et là derrière, à environ cent yards, le père et la mère ont levé la main, pour dire que c’était exact. Quand j’ai de nouveau regardé l’enfant, ses yeux étaient aussi droits que les miens. J’ai dit: «Evidemment, tout le monde voit que quelque chose s’est produit. Ses yeux sont déjà droits. Passe, fiston.» Et on l’a fait passer.
| E-34 And then, this little boy standing there, and I said, "Anyone that's close enough, can see the child is cross-eyed." I said, "I could not straighten his eyes." I said, "I have nothing to straighten his eyes with." But I said, "Maybe the Holy Spirit might be to reveal to me something that caused it, and then maybe it would cause the little lad to--to have faith to believe in Christ." And I said to him, "Look at me."
And the interpreter (Zulu, the interpreter) said, "Look at me." And the little fellow looked up.
I said, "He was born that way." I said, "Now, his mother and father are thin people, strange for Zulus." I said, "But he come out of a Christian home, because in their little hut there's a picture of Christ on the right hand side of the wall as you go in." And about a hundred yards back, the father and mother raised up their hand, saying that was right. When I looked back at the child, his eyes were as straight as mine. I said, "'Course anyone sees something's happened; his eyes, already straight. Pass on by, son." And they passed him by.

| E-35 And just then I heard a fuss. How many ever knowed Brother Bosworth? Old Brother Bosworth used to be one of my... F. F. Bosworth. He was standing there, and I heard him carrying on something over there, some kind of a fuss. And it was a British doctor, and he was going on. He said, "I want to talk to him." Brother Bosworth said, "You can't do that now, sir." said, "You'd just cause a riot." You had to space them off. They was having tribal wars, too, you know. And so, said. "You cannot do that now." Said, "When our brother is under that anointing he prays for the sick." He said, "Just believe."
Said, "I want to speak to him."
I turned around. I said, "What's the matter, doctor?"
He said, "How did you know I was a doctor?"
I said, "Well, what do you want?"
He said, "I want to ask you, Mr. Branham, what did you do to that boy?"
I said, "Nothing."
He said, "I put him on the platform."
"Well," I said, "that's very nice."

J’ai dit: «C’est une très bonne chose, docteur.» Et alors d’autres personnes sont montées. J’ai dit: «Un instant. Laissez-le tranquille.»

I've got my hands on him here, and his eyes is straight." Said, "Now, Mr. Branham, I can understand your telepathy; that's speaking to the people, and telling them about their desires, and what they've done," but said, "I want to ask you something. Did you hypnotize that child?"
I said, "Did the medics of the British Medical Association give you license to practice medicine, and know no more about hypnotism than that? If hypnotism will straighten a child's eyes, don't you think you doctors should start practicing hypnotism--hypnotil?"
He said, "Mr. Branham, I want you to know that I've been raised to believe in God."
I said, "That's very fine, doctor." And then some more come up. I said, "Just a minute. Let him alone."

«Eh bien, ai-je dit, docteur, ses yeux sont-ils droits?»
Il a dit: «Absolument.»
«Eh bien, ai-je dit, l’ai-je touché?»
«Non, non.» Il a dit: «Alors cela fait que Dieu est quelque part entre ici et là, n’est-ce pas?»
J’ai dit: «Il est tout simplement partout.» Et ainsi alors quelqu’un s’est mis à le tirer.
Il a dit: «Juste une minute.» Il y avait là un grand micro omnidirectionnel; en effet, ils avaient (oh!) une foule de gens qui s’étendait jusqu’à peut-être cinq cents yards, vous savez, là comme cela, avec ce grand micro. Il s’est avancé vers ce micro. Il a dit: «Dans ce cas, j’accepte Jésus-Christ comme mon Sauveur.»
J’aimerais vous dire une chose. Quand je quittais Durban environ deux semaines après cela, il y avait environ vingt, trente mille personnes là, agitant les mains pour dire au revoir et tout, vous savez. «Revenez, revenez.» Cela a fait la une... deux ou trois pages des journaux chaque jour, ce que le Seigneur avait fait dans les réunions. Et là, à ce propos, savez-vous ce qu’a fait ce médecin? Il a enjambé la rampe, il est passé par-dessus certains gardes, et il a couru là et il a passé ses bras autour de moi, comme cela, et il m’a embrassé, et il s’est mis à parler en langues. | E-37 And he said, "Well," said, "I know that God is in that lily. It couldn't grow... It's got life that we cannot find. We cannot find the germ of life. We know that God is in the lily or it could not live." But said, "Tell me, is that God that you're speaking of so tangible that He could take that baby's crossed eyes and make them come straight? And you ten feet away from him."
"Well," I said, "Doctor, is his eyes straight?"
Said, "Yes, sir."
"Well," I said, "Did I touch him?"
"No, sir." He said, "Then that makes God somewhere between here and there, doesn't it?"
I said, "Just everywhere." And so then somebody started to pull him away.
He said, "Just a moment." There was a big web mike, 'cause they had, oh, maybe five hundred yards, still people, you know, out like that, the big mike. He walked up to that mike. He said, "Then I accept Jesus Christ as my Saviour."
I want to tell you something. When I was leaving Durban about two weeks after that, there was about twenty, thirty thousand people there, waving good-bye and everything, you know. "Come back, come back." It made the head... two and three pages of paper every day in the meetings, what our Lord did. And there, in that, you what he did? He run out on the ramp, jumped over some of the guards, and run out there and throwed his arms around me, like that, and hugged me, and started speaking in tongues. And he said, "Brother Branham, I'm a Christian. I'm returning into the fields to be a missionary, that British doctor.

Si quelqu’un pouvait aider ce garçon et ne le faisait pas, eh bien, ce serait un hypocrite.» J’ai dit: «Si j’avais quelque chose par lequel je pouvais guérir ce pauvre garçon, je le ferais certainement. Mais je ne peux pas le faire. Vous savez cela.» Mais j’ai dit: «Peut-être que le Saint-Esprit pourrait me révéler quelque chose qui pourrait l’amener à avoir foi que Dieu va le guérir.» Et alors, je me suis tourné pour regarder, et alors, je... pendant que je le regardais, la vision... Je ne peux pas expliquer cela. Vous ne pouvez pas expliquer Dieu. Il est inutile d’essayer de le faire. Si vous le faites, cela (Excusez-moi)–cela ne serait plus par la foi.
| E-38 And that finished that day. The next was a boy that was so deformed... (Excuse me, my sisters, if I make the wrong mistake... make a mistake, rather, saying something that I should not say.) But they don't--do not wear clothes. You see? They're just as naked as they come into the earth. And when the boy come up on the platform, young fellow, he walked on his hands, like this. And he was all bent over, and such a horrible condition, and they had a chain around his neck.
And I said, "Look at that poor mortal. If anyone could help that boy and would not do it, why, he would be a hypocrite." I said, "If I had anything at all I could heal the poor fellow with, I'd certainly do it. But I cannot do it. You know that." But I said, "Maybe the Holy Spirit could reveal to me something that might cause him to have faith that God would heal him." And so I turned to look, and now, I--when I was looking at him, the vision... I can't explain that. You can't explain God. There's no need of trying. If you did, it would (pardon me) it would not be by faith anymore.

Et il pensait que je voulais qu’il exécute une danse tribale. Les–les gens qui quittent les tribus viennent, et ils font le clown pour les touristes en exécutant des danses tribales. Il faisait: «Euh! ba, ba, ba, ba.»
Et j’ai dit: «Si seulement je peux attirer son attention un moment, saisir son esprit!» Et il a dit... J’ai dit: «Oh! ce à quoi il pense maintenant, en fait, il ne pense pas à lui-même.» J’ai dit: «Ce garçon est devenu comme cela quand il n’était qu’un enfant.» Et juste à ce moment-là son père et sa mère se sont levés, là tout au fond. C’était vrai. Voyez-vous? J’ai dit: «Il est aussi issu d’un foyer chrétien, d’un foyer de confession chrétienne.» C’était exact.
| E-39 So the boy was there. He looked to be, oh, I'd judge him to be somewhere in his twenties--twenty-two, twenty-five, somewhere like that. And I said, "Now, I've got his attention." And now, remember, he was walking on his feet, the back parts sticking way up like this, and swayed in the back like a horse--you know, swayback horses, and walking on his hands, like that. And he was thinking I wanted him to--to do a tribal dance. The--the people that leaves the tribes, they come in, and they clown for the tourists by doing tribal dances. He was going "Uh, ba, ba, ba, ba."
And I said, "If I can just get his attention a moment, catch his spirit." And he said... I said, "Oh, what he's thinking of now, he's really not thinking of himself." I said, "This boy became that way when he was just a child." And just then his father and mother raised up, way down here. That was true. See? I said, "He's also from a Christian, a professed Christian home." That was right.

Et voici venir son frère avec ses deux bâtons sur sa tête, sautant de toutes ses forces.
Eh bien, il a fallu environ vingt minutes pour ramener les gens au calme (vous voyez?), pour ramener les gens au calme. Je l’ai encore regardé, et j’ai dit: «Maintenant, je–je ne peux rien faire d’autre que prier pour le garçon.» Et j’ai vu comme une ombre bleue au-dessus de lui, et j’ai regardé, et dans la vision, il se tenait debout là, sur ses pieds. Oh! frère...?... Tous les démons de l’enfer ne pouvaient pas empêcher cela alors.
| E-40 I said, "But what he's thinking of is his brother." Now, I said, "his brother was either riding on a yellow goat or a yellow dog, and he fell and has hurt his leg. He's walked on two sticks now for the past three or four years." But I... And as I looked back I seen his brother going, running, leaping, like that; I said... Watched it, and I said. "But, THUS SAITH THE LORD, his brother is healed." And went ahead, like this. And way down, oh, almost two city blocks, I heard a great scream. And they had about, I guess, three hundred soldiers, militia, you know, to kind of keep order. And here is brother come with these sticks over his head, jumping just as hard as he could.
Well, it taken about twenty minutes to get them quietened again (You see?), to get them quietened. I looked back again to him, and I said, "Now, I--I cannot do nothing but pray for the boy." And I seen like a blue shadow above him, and I looked, and in the vision here he stood, up on his feet. Oh, brother...?... All the devils out of hell couldn't stop it then.

E-41 S’Il me disait que–que Georges Washington allait ressusciter du cimetière présidentiel, j’inviterais le monde entier à venir voir cela s’accomplir. C’est juste. Il est... J’ai vu des milliers et des milliers de visions, et je prendrais quiconque à témoin: pas une seule n’a jamais failli. Cela ne peut faillir; c’est Dieu. Comment Dieu peut-Il faillir?
J’étais alors certain que le garçon allait être guéri, et je me suis dit: «Voici l’occasion pour moi, maintenant même.» J’ai dit: «Combien ici voudront recevoir Christ comme leur Sauveur si ce garçon est rétabli?» Jusqu’à perte de vue, il y avait ces mains noires: des Songhaïs, des Sothos, partout, comme cela, des Indiens, partout. Et j’ai dit: «Lève-toi, fiston. Jésus-Christ te guérit.» Bien sûr l’interprète lui a dit ça, mais le garçon n’était même pas mentalement normal. Il ne cessait donc de faire: «Uh! ba, ba, bla, bla», essayant d’exécuter une danse. Il pensait qu’on l’avait emmené là à l’estrade pour faire le pitre, vous savez, pour danser. Je me suis donc avancé et j’ai saisi la chaîne qu’on avait mise sur lui, par laquelle on le conduisait. J’ai dit: «Lève- toi, Jésus-Christ te guérit.» Et le garçon s’est levé.
| E-41 If He would tell me that--that George Washington was going to rise from the presidential graveyard, I'd invite the world to come watch it done. That's right. He's... I've seen thousands times thousands of visions, and I'll take anybody to record: never one of them failed. It can't fail; it's God. How can God fail?
So I knowed the boy was going to be healed, and I thought, "Here's my chance, right now." I said, "How many here will receive Christ as their Saviour if this boy will be made well?" Just as far as I could see, those black hands: Shangai, Basothu, everywhere, like that, Indians, everywhere. And I said, "Stand up on your feet, son. Jesus Christ makes you well." Of course the interpreter told him that, but the boy wasn't even mentally right. So he just kept going "Uh, ba, ba, bla, bla," and trying to do a dance. He thought we was bringing him up there to clown, you see, to dance. So I walked over and took a hold of the chain that they had on him, where they'd led him. I said, "Stand up on your feet, Jesus Christ makes you well." And the boy stood up.

E-42 Et alors, les larmes coulaient sur son ventre noir. Il s’est tenu là et regardait tout autour comme cela, pour la première fois de sa vie. La foule était tout simplement prise de frénésie. Il était là. Non seulement il était guéri, redressé, mais il était dans son bon sens. Voyez-vous?
J’ai dit: «Combien parmi vous recevront Jésus-Christ maintenant comme leur Sauveur personnel, Celui qui vous aime?» Et j’ai dit: «Levez-vous.» Trente mille purs indigènes se sont levés à la fois.
Vous les Canadiens, vous connaissez Ern Baxter, n’est-ce pas? Frère Ern Baxter? Il était assis juste là à l’estrade. Et frère Baxter a dit: «Frère Branham, je crois qu’ils ont compris qu’il s’agit de la guérison physique.»
J’ai dit: «Je vais reprendre cela à travers le...»
Et le vieux frère Bosworth était tout simplement en larmes. Il a dit: «Frère Branham, a-t-il dit, le Saint-Esprit est tout simplement en train de m’ôter la vie.»
Et j’ai dit: «Je ne voulais pas dire la guérison physique? Je voulais dire recevoir Christ comme Sauveur. Vous qui portez des idoles, si vous comprenez, brisez vos idoles par terre.» Et il y eut comme une tempête de poussière, quand ces idoles furent brisées. Trente mille purs indigènes vinrent à Christ en un seul appel à l’autel. Pensez-y. C’est... disons trente, dix, vingt, trente... Eh bien, ce serait environ dix fois le nombre qu’il y eut à la Pentecôte. C’est juste. Environ dix fois le nombre qu’il y eut à la Pentecôte.
| E-42 And when he did, the tears dropped off on his black belly. He stood there, and looked around like that, for the first time in his life. That crowd just went into a frantic. There he was. Not only was he healed, straightened up, but in his right mind. See?
I said, "How many of you will receive Jesus Christ now as personal Saviour, One Who loves you?" And I said, "Stand to your feet." Thirty thousand blanket natives stood at one time.
You Canadians know Ern Baxter, don't you? Brother Ern Baxter? He was setting right there at the platform. And Brother Baxter said, "Brother Branham, I believe they meant a physical healing."
I said, "Let me run it through the..."
And old Brother Bosworth just weeping. He said, "Brother Branham," he said, "the Holy Spirit's just taking my life from me."
And I said, "I did not mean physical healing. I meant to receive Christ as Saviour. You that's packing idols, if you understand, break your idols on the ground." And like a dust storm, where them idols broke. Thirty thousand raw blanket natives come to Christ in one altar call. Just think. That's... let's see thirty, ten, twenty, thirty... Well, that would be about ten times the size of Pentecost. That's right. About ten times the size of Pentecost.

E-43 Et le lendemain matin le maire m’a appelé, à ma chambre d’hôtel. Il a dit: «Frère Branham, allez vite à votre fenêtre, du côté qui donne sur le lac.»

Nous sommes unitaires, binitaires, trinitaires.» Et, oh! vous savez, toutes–toutes ces histoires-là. Ils n’en savent rien. Ils cherchaient tout simplement un Dieu qui avait quelque chose, et qui pouvait répondre. Voyez-vous?
| E-43 And the next morning the mayor called me, over to my hotel room. He said, "Brother Branham, go to your window, the side that faces the lake right away."
Brother Bosworth had been there. Said, "Brother Branham, I estimate..."
And I said, "Now, you that wants to be prayed for, just believe the Christ that I'm talking about." And I offered one congregational prayer. Now, there'd only been about three people on the platform. Offered one congregational prayer, and there was a estimated of twenty-five thousand outstanding miracles took place at once. See? They're not indocumated: "We are--we are Methodist. We ar Baptist. We are Presbyterian. We are Oneness, Twoness, Threeness," And oh, you know, all--all that stuff. They know nothing about it. They're just looking for a God that had something that could answer back. See?

Il y avait sept grands camions britanniques (Je ne sais pas si vous savez ce que c’est ou pas, longs à peu près comme d’ici jusqu’à ce mur-là) chargés de béquilles, de planches, de fauteuils roulants, de différents instruments qu’ils avaient amenés des jungles sur des centaines de kilomètres, et ils avaient fait des semaines en venant, comme cela. Tout cela était dans les sept grands camions, entassés jusqu’en haut. Et derrière ces camions venaient des Zoulous, des Sothos, des Songhaïs, des Xhosas, et tous ces gens qui utilisaient ces–ces choses jusque la veille, ils descendaient la rue en chantant dans leur langue maternelle respective: «Crois seulement, tout est possible.» Oh! quel moment!
Vous les femmes canadiennes, vous ne faites pas ça, mais je vais dire ceci pour montrer ce qui se passe en Amérique. Les femmes américaines en arrivent à un point où chaque année elles se dévêtent un peu plus. Juste pour descendre jusqu’à... D’abord c’étaient des robes courtes, maintenant elles en sont à des choses minuscules qui ont l’air de vêtements d’hommes, et d’autres histoires qu’elles portent. C’est une disgrâce. C’est une honte. C’est une... C’est–c’est... Une femme me parlait, disant: «Frère Branham, je ne porte pas des shorts.» Elle a dit: «Je porte des pantalons.»
J’ai dit: «C’est pire. La Bible déclare que c’est une abomination pour une femme de porter un vêtement d’homme.» C’est juste. Et j’ai dit: «Vous ne devriez jamais faire cela.»
Elle a dit: «Eh bien, on ne... Quand on va au magasin, vous ne pouvez acheter rien d’autre que ces vêtements sexy.»
J’ai dit: «Un jour vous répondrez à la barre du jugement pour avoir commis adultère. Vous pourriez être aussi pure que le lis vis-à-vis de votre mari. Vous pourriez être aussi pure que le lis envers votre petit ami. Mais la Bible dit, Jésus a dit: ‘Quiconque regarde une femme pour la convoiter a déjà commis un adultère avec elle dans son coeur.’» Et j’ai dit: «Si vous vous exhibez là en étant habillée comme cela et que le pécheur vous regarde et vous convoite, qui est coupable, vous ou le pécheur? Et lui, il va répondre pour cela, et avec qui a-t-il commis adultère? Avec vous. Qui est coupable? Vous, pour vous être présentée comme cela.» Et j’ai dit: «Vous serez coupable d’avoir commis un adultère quand ce pécheur devra répondre pour avoir commis adultère.»
«Quiconque regarde une femme pour la convoiter a déjà commis un adultère avec elle.» Qui est coupable? Vous. C’est juste.
Cette femme a dit, elle m’a écrit une lettre, elle a dit: «Monsieur Branham, on ne confectionne pas des vêtements comme ceux dont vous parlez. C’est le seul genre...»
J’ai dit: «Mais il y a encore des tissus, et on vend des machines à coudre; il n’y a donc point d’excuses pour cela. Voyez-vous? C’est juste.»
| E-44 Then, you know what? I went to the window, and coming down that street... If I shall live to be a hundred and could be in my mind, I shall never forget that. There come seven big British vans (I don't know what, you know what they are or not, about as long as from here back to that wall.) loaded full of crutches, boards, wheelchairs, instruments, that they had been packed out of the jungles for hundreds of miles, and weeks coming, like that. There they was in them, the seven van loads, piled up to the top. And behind that come Zulus, Basothus, Shangai, Xhosas, and all those, behind it, that was in those--that things the day before, coming down the street, singing in their own native tongue, "Only believe, all things are possible." Oh, what a hour!
You Canadian women don't do this, but I'm going to say this for what is in America. The American women get so every year they take off a few more clothes. Just to get down to... The first short dresses, now to little bitty things that looks like men's clothes, and things to wear. It's a disgrace. It's a shame. It's a... It's--it's... A woman said to me, she said, "Brother Branham, I don't wear shorts." She said, "I wear slacks."
I said, "That's worse. The Bible said its an abomination for a woman to put on a garment that pertains to a man." That's right. And I said, "You should never do that."
Said, "Well, they don't... When you go to the store you can't buy nothing else than them sexy-like clothes."
I said, "Someday you'll answer at the judgment bar for committing adultery. You might be as pure as a lily to your husband. You might be as pure as a lily to your boyfriend. But the Bible said, Jesus said, "Whosoever looketh upon a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her in his heart." And I said, "If you put yourself out there and dress like that, and the sinner looks at you and lusts after you, who's guilty, you or the sinner? And he's going to answer for that, and who did he commit the adultery with? You. Who's guilty? You, for presenting yourself like that." And I said, "You'll be guilty of committing adultery when that sinner has to answer for committing adultery."
"Whosoever looketh upon a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her." Who's guilty? You. That's right.
This lady said, wrote me a letter, she said, "Mr. Branham, they don't make clothes like you're talking about. This is the only kind..."
I said, "But they still have goods, and they sell sewing machines; so there's no excuse about it. See? That's right.

E-45 Ecoutez. J’aimerais dire ceci. Souvenez-vous tout simplement de ceci, si jamais les gens commençaient à porter des shorts et tout au Canada. Vous voyez? Si jamais elles le faisaient, souvenez-vous tout simplement de ceci. Ces femmes indigènes, les jeunes comme celles qui étaient âgées, qui ne pouvaient distinguer leur main droite de leur main gauche, elles se tenaient là, n’ayant qu’un chiffon sur elle. Elles étaient nues au possible, elles ne savaient pas qu’elles étaient nues. Mais à l’instant même où elles ont accepté Jésus-Christ comme leur Sauveur personnel, elles ont croisé les bras [sur la poitrine] pour s’éloigner de la présence des hommes.
Dites-moi alors pourquoi, si ces gens qui se disent pentecôtistes ou chrétiens, ou méthodistes, ou baptistes... Comment expliquer que chaque année vous prétendez avoir le même Christ, et le même Saint-Esprit, et vous cherchez à vous exposer davantage chaque année? Pourquoi est-ce que ce Saint-Esprit-là a amené une femme à se couvrir pour s’éloigner de la présence des hommes, et quand vous les voyez le jour suivant, elles ont sur elles une sorte de vêtement? Pourquoi amène-t-Il les unes à porter des vêtements et les autres à les enlever? Dieu ne travaille pas comme cela. Il y a quelque chose qui cloche quelque part, frères. Oh! la la! éloignons-nous de nos conceptions mondaines et retournons à l’Evangile. Amen. Retournons à la Vérité, à la Parole. Il n’est pas étonnant que nous ne puissions pas avoir une église. Comment Dieu pourrait-Il bâtir une église sur un tel fondement? Retournons à la Vérité, frère, soeur.
| E-45 Listen. I want to say this. Just remember this, if they ever start wearing shorts in Canada and things. You see? If they ever do, you just remember this. There was blanket native women, young and old, not knowing which is right and left hand, standing there, nothing but a clout of beads on. Just as naked as naked over their body, as they could be, not knowing they were naked. But the very minute that they accepted Jesus Christ as personal Saviour, they folded their arms to walk out from the presence of men.
Then tell me why, that if these people who call themselves Pentecostal, or Christians, or Methodist, or Baptist. how is it each year you claim to have the same Christ, and the same Holy Spirit, and trying to expose yourself more every year? Why would that Holy Spirit make a woman cover herself up to get out of the presence of men, and when you see them the next day they've got some kind of clothes on? Why would it make some put on clothes, and others take them off? God doesn't work like that. There's something wrong somewhere, brethren. Oh, my. Let's get away from our social ideas and get back to the Gospel. Amen. Back to the truth, back to the Word. No wonder we can't have a church. How could God ever build a church upon a foundation like that? Let's go back to the truth, brother, sister.

Ô Dieu, aide-nous à comprendre. Comment pourrions-nous nous promener à bord d’une flotte de cadillacs, en acheter des nouvelles chaque année, et toutes ces choses, alors que nos frères là-bas prêchent l’Evangile sans les chaussures aux pieds? Ils se tiendront ainsi au jour du Jugement. Que pouvons-nous faire? Et nous sommes là à discuter pour savoir si nous devrions aller à cette église-ci ou à celle-là. Oh! Amérique, Amérique, combien de fois n’a-t-Il pas voulu planer sur toi?

Most holy God, right into Thy holy Presence and before the throne of mercy we come presenting ourselves now. We are a unworthy people, Lord. Thou art God, full of mercy, full of goodness. Be Thou near us to forgive us. When my heart thinks of Africa, of India, O God, how it bleeds. How could I spend tens of thousands of dollars for foolishness, and poor little kiddies laying there dying, with swelled up bellies, with nothing to eat. O God, help us to understand. How could we ride around in a fleet of Cadillacs, new ones every year, and all these things, and our brothers over yonder are preaching the Gospel with no shoes on? They'll stand in the day of judgment thus. What can we do? Us here arguing whether we should go to this church or that one. O America, America, how oft would He have hovered you?

How we thank You for these fine Scandinavian, German, Indians, and so forth, that's separated themselves from the things of the world, and has consecrated their lives to Thee to be Thy loving children; not caring what the world shall say, but believing that You're the Christ, the Son of God, trying to live examples before the people that all men might see Christ in them. We thank You for it Father, as we open the Word. No man can open it, Lord. Only any man that's physical enough to pull back the pages could do that, but we read in the Bible that there was One setting upon the throne...

Bénis Grande Prairie, Seigneur. Bénis ses ministres, bénis son peuple. Ô Dieu, je Te prie de faire d’eux des anges de miséricorde, des anges de Lumière. Accorde-le, Seigneur, car nous vivons maintenant dans les scènes de la clôture. Tu viendras bientôt et nous Le verrons. Alors tous nos troubles cesseront. So it is written, "He that goeth forth sowing in tears, will doubtless return again, rejoicing, bringing with him precious sheaves." That's our desire, Lord.
Bless Grande Prairie, Lord. Bless its ministers, bless its people. God, I pray that You'll make them Angels of mercy, Angels of light. Grant it, Lord, for we're living in the closing scenes now. Soon You shall come and we'll see Him. All troubles will be over then. Until then, Father, keep us anointed with Thy love and Thy Spirit, giving us the bread of Life that we might serve others. It's this purpose we ask in our hearts, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

Et la reine du Midi se lèvera, au jour du jugement, avec cette génération et la condamnera, parce qu’elle vint des extrémités de la terre pour entendre la sagesse de Salomon, et voici, il y a ici plus que Salomon.
J’aimerais me servir de cela comme contexte: «Il y a ici plus que Salomon.» Si vous... Je vous demanderai de lire le chapitre précédent ainsi que ce chapitre, quand vous rentrerez chez vous.
| E-49 Over in the book of Saint Matthew's Gospel, the 12th chapter and the 42nd verse, just for a little context. I'm ashamed to keep you here this long, but I--I know I only got one more night. And I--I just--just wished we had a long time. I've never gotten to preach to you yet. I--I usually just get on a little testimonies, because, then I don't get off on... Preaching, you're anointed this way; discernment is this way. See? And you shake yourself, one from the other. So just to talk to you a little while, I want to read a little portion of Scriptures here because my words will fail. God's words will not fail.
And the queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the utmost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.
I'd like to use that for a context: "A Greater Than Solomon is Here." If you, when you go home you might read the the previous chapter and this chapter.

E-50 Jésus réprimandait ces pharisiens de Son temps, parce qu’ils avaient manqué de Le reconnaître Lui qui était leur Messie. Ils avaient été satisfaits. Et les gens de cette époque-là, c’était à bien des égards comme aujourd’hui, ils comptaient sur l’église pour leur salut. Eh bien, je déclare ceci: si vous êtes un catholique qui compte sur l’église pour le salut, vous êtes perdu. Si vous êtes un baptiste qui compte sur l’église pour le salut, vous êtes perdu. Si vous êtes un pentecôtiste qui compte sur l’église pour le salut, vous êtes perdu. Mais si vous êtes catholique, pentecôtiste ou baptiste, quoi que vous puissiez être, et que vous comptiez sur Jésus-Christ pour le salut, vous êtes sauvé. Car c’est par la foi que nous sommes sauvés. Voyez-vous?
| E-50 Jesus had been rebuking these Pharisees of His days, because they had failed to recognize He was their Messiah. They had been satisfied. And the people of that day, it was a whole lot like today, that the people were looking to the church for salvation. Now, I make this statement: If you are a Catholic and you're looking to the church for salvation, you're lost. If you are a Baptist and you're looking to the church for salvation, you are lost. If you are a Pentecostal and you're looking to the church for salvation, you are lost. But if you are Catholic, Pentecostal, or Baptist, or whatever you may be, and you're looking to Jesus Christ for salvation, you're saved. For by faith are we saved. See?

E-51 Maintenant, aujourd’hui les gens sont arrivés au point où ils comptent sur l’église pour le salut. L’église n’apporte pas le salut. Le salut vient de Christ. Voyez-vous? L’église n’a pas de salut; c’est Christ qui a le salut. Maintenant, j’aimerais dire ceci: les gens comptent sur l’église pour le salut, et qu’obtiennent-ils? Des credos et des organisations et–et ainsi de suite, et c’est la même chose aujourd’hui. Ils étaient donc satisfaits en croyant que c’était la volonté parfaite de Dieu qu’ils aient... et ces credos et ainsi de suite, et de faire ces choses.
Ainsi donc, nous voyons qu’en ce temps-là, Jésus est venu, en étant le... parfaite [Espace non enregistré sur la bande–N.D.E] réponse à leur prophétie selon laquelle Il devait venir. Maintenant, nous admettrons tous que Jésus n’est pas venu de façon contraire aux Ecritures. Il vint en parfaite conformité avec les Ecritures, mais de manière contraire à la façon dont les sacrificateurs avaient dit aux gens qu’Il viendrait. Eh bien, le prophète avait parlé de... Par exemple, Esaïe avait dit: «Toutes les montagnes bondissent comme de petits béliers, et les feuilles battent des mains; et les lieux élevés sont abaissés, et les lieux abaissés sont élevés», à la venue de Jean-Baptiste.
| E-51 Now, today the people has got it to a place till they are looking to the church for salvation. The church doesn't bring salvation. Salvation is of Christ. See? The church doesn't have salvation; Christ has salvation. Now, I would like to say this: that they look to the church for salvation, and what did they get? Creeds, and organizations, and--and so forth, and that's the same thing today. So they were satisfied to believe that that was God's perfect will, for them to have... and those creeds and so forth, and to do those things.
So now, we find out that during that time Jesus came on, a perfect answer to their prophesy that He was to come. Now, all of us will admit that Jesus did not come contrary to the Scriptures. He come exactly with the Scriptures, but contrary to the way that the priests had told the people that He would come. Now, the prophets had talked about... For instance, Isaiah said, "All the mountains skip like little rams, and the leaves clap their hands; and the high places is made low, and the low places made high," at the coming of John the Baptist.

E-52 Eh bien, j’imagine que les gens pensaient que Dieu ouvrirait tout simplement les corridors et qu’Il ferait descendre une échelle dorée avec un grand et puissant prophète vêtu de vêtements sacerdotaux; et celui-ci descendrait et dirait: «Je suis la voix de celui qui crie dans le désert. Je viens des corridors du Ciel pour saluer Caïphe qui est ici pour [Espace non enregistré sur la bande–N.D.E] le grand travail qu’il a abattu», et les différents sacrificateurs pour le travail qu’ils ont fait. C’est à cela qu’ils s’attendaient. Mais que s’est-il passé? Un vieil homme des bois, au visage couvert de barbe, est sorti du désert sans... Il était allé dans le désert à l’âge de neuf ans; le fils de Zacharie, il avait eu une naissance particulière. Il sortit du désert, et se tint là, réprimandant ces sacrificateurs et leur disant: «Race de serpents dans l’herbe, qui vous a appris à fuir la colère à venir?» Fiou! Quel homme différent c’était! Voyez-vous? Qu’était-il? Il se tenait dans la boue qui lui arrivait jusqu’aux chevilles. Etait-il vêtu d’habits somptueux? Il avait une peau de mouton enroulée autour de lui, avec une ceinture en peau de chameau. Mais, oh! la la! combien il a secoué les régions! Il avait l’Evangile. C’était tout à fait différent.
Et les gens ont dit: «C’est un homme sauvage, il est en train de noyer les gens dans l’eau. Oui, il est un–il est... Oh! la la! quel drôle de type est-ce!»
| E-52 Why, I expect the people thought that God would just open up the corridors, and send down the golden stairs, and a great mighty prophet, dressed in the priest's clothes, would walk down and say, "I am the voice of the one crying in the wilderness. I have just come from the corridors of heaven to greet Caiaphas here, and a great job he has done," and to the different priests, and what job they had did. That's the way they was expecting it. But what did it happen? An old fuzzy-faced-looking woodsman come out of the wilderness with not a... He went in the wilderness at the age of nine: Zachariah's son, born a odd birth. Come out of the wilderness, standing on there rebuking those priests, and saying, "You generation of snakes in the grass, who warned you to flee from the wrath that's to come?" Whew. What a different man. See?
What was he? Standing in mud up to his ankles. Dressed in fine clothes? A piece of sheepskin wrapped around him, with a camel-skin belt on. But, oh, my, how he shook the regions. He had the Gospel. It was altogether different.
And they said, this is a wild man, drowning people with water. Yeah, he's a--he's... My, what a guy that is."

E-53 Puis, quand Jésus vint... On Lui a collé un sale nom d’un enfant illégitime, parce qu’étant né hors du saint mariage, un paria et ainsi de suite... Et Le voici venir, discernant les pensées des coeurs de gens, leur révélant leurs pensées, connaissant leurs pensées, et faisant exactement ce que Dieu et les prophètes avaient dit qu’Il ferait. Alors les gens ont dit: «Cet Homme est un démon.»
Vous voyez, les gens ont dit... Ils devaient donner une réponse à leur congrégation. Ils se tenaient là. Ils... Il n’y avait pas le moindre doute qu’Il accomplissait ces choses, ils devaient donc faire quelque chose. Alors ils ont simplement dit... Au lieu d’étudier cela dans les Ecritures pour que... Jésus a dit d’étudier les Ecritures. «Sondez les Ecritures. Ce sont Elles qui rendent témoignage de Moi», a-t-Il dit. Au lieu de faire cela, ils ont donné cette réponse à leur congrégation: «Il est Béelzébul, le prince des démons.»
Or, tout le monde sait qu’un diseur de bonne aventure est un démon. C’est tout. C’est l’esprit du diable. Mais vous voyez, ils appelaient l’Esprit de Dieu l’esprit du diable. Et c’est la raison pour laquelle Jésus leur a dit que c’était le blasphème contre le Saint-Esprit et que cela ne pourrait jamais être pardonné. Voyez-vous?
| E-53 Then when Jesus came--a black name behind him as an illegitimate child, being born out of the holy wedlock, an outcast, and so forth... And here He comes forth, discerning the hearts of the people, and telling them their thoughts, and perceiving their thoughts, and doing exactly what God said He would do and the prophets said He would do. Then they said, "This man is a devil."
See, they said... They had to answer to their congregation. They were standing there. They... It was beyond a doubt that He was doing it, so they had to make something another. So they just said... Instead of studying it out in the Scriptures that... Jesus said to study the Scriptures. "Search the Scriptures. They are they which testify of Me," He said. Instead of doing that, they answered to their congregation, "He is Beelzebub, the chief of the devils."
Now, anyone knows that a fortuneteller is a devil. That's all. It's a devil spirit. But see they were calling the Spirit of God a devil spirit. And that's the reason Jesus told them that was blasphemy of the Holy Ghost and could never be forgiven. See?

E-54 Maintenant, Il avait donc accompli ces choses et ils étaient... Il les réprimandait parce qu’ils n’avaient pas cru cela. Ils–ils voulaient... Ils–ils ne pouvaient pas croire. Et pourtant il était recommandé aux Juifs de chercher ce genre de signe. Maintenant, la Bible ne dit-Elle pas que les Juifs cherchent les signes, et les Grecs la sagesse? Paul a dit: «Et nous prêchons Christ crucifié.» Voyez-vous? Les Juifs cherchaient des signes, parce que c’est ce qui leur avait été recommandé de faire. C’est la raison pour laquelle ils le faisaient, afin qu’ils ne puissent pas manquer leur Messie (Voyez-vous?); en effet, Il devait être un Signe pour l’Eglise, pour le peuple. Et Il avait fait exactement ce qu’Il était censé faire, et pourtant ils n’ont pas cru en Lui, à cause de leurs traditions. Aussi Jésus les réprimandait-Il à cause de leur incrédulité. Ils auraient dû croire la chose, mais ils n’y ont pas cru.
Et nous voyons que dans toutes les générations, partout, dans toutes les générations, quand Dieu apparaît, des signes surnaturels se produisent. Il n’y a jamais eu un réveil... Prenez celui de Luther, celui de Wesley, de qui que ce soit. La guérison divine et de grands signes et prodiges accompagnaient chaque réveil, parce que Dieu est surnaturel, et là où il y a le surnaturel, le surnaturel est manifesté. Et la raison pour laquelle c’est surnaturel est que l’Esprit surnaturel se saisit des gens et accomplit des choses surnaturelles. Voyez-vous? Dieu est un Créateur, et s’Il est dans notre coeur, eh bien, l’Esprit dira toujours amen à Sa Parole.
| E-54 Now, and so He'd done these signs, and they was... He was rebuking them, because they had not believed it. They--they wanted to... They--they could not believe. And yet the Jews were commanded to seek for that kind of a sign.
Now, don't the Bible say the Jews seek signs, the Greeks wisdom? Paul said, "And we preach Christ crucified." See? The Jews would seek signs, because they were commanded to do so. That's the reason they were doing it, so they would not miss their Messiah (See?), because He was to be a Sign to the church, to the people. And He had done exactly what He was supposed to do, and yet they did not believe Him, because of their tradition. So Jesus was rebuking them for their unbelief. They should've believed it, but they did not.
And we find out that in all generations, everywhere, in all generations, where God appears, supernatural signs come. There never has been a revival... Take Luther, Wesley, whoever it might be. Divine healing and great signs and wonders accompanied every revival, for God is supernatural, and where the supernatural is, supernatural will be done. And the reason it's supernatural, because supernatural spirit gets a hold of the people and performs supernatural things. See? God is a Creator, and if He is in our heart, why, the Spirit will always say "Amen" to His Word.

E-55 Bon, dans l’Ancien Testament ils avaient–ils avaient deux moyens pour savoir si un homme disait la vérité. Premièrement, ils avaient la loi. Il y a les dix commandements. Mais quand un homme prophétisait et qu’ensuite... ou qu’un songeur avait un songe, ils avaient un autre moyen pour vérifier cela. Peu importe combien cela avait l’air bien (Voyez-vous?), ils avaient un moyen surnaturel. Dieu s’est toujours confirmé. N’oubliez pas ceci. Voyez-vous? Dieu se confirme dans tous les âges par le surnaturel.
Alors, voici venir un homme qui était prophète et il prophétisait, et avec sa théologie cela semblait si réel. Cela avait l’air si réel que c’était parfait. Mais vous voyez, en ce temps-là cela faisait quatre cents ans qu’ils n’avaient pas eu un prophète. Ils ont donc dit... Ils avaient un tas de théologie humaine. Je ne dis pas ceci par manque d’égard, mais, mes frères, c’est ce dans quoi nous nous sommes de nouveau retrouvés (Voyez-vous?), juste une conception humaine de ce que l’Eglise devrait être, de ce que Christ devrait être. Ce n’est pas pour être singulier. Si je dis cela juste pour être singulier, alors, que Dieu ait pitié de mon âme, je devrais être ici à l’autel. Mais je dois dire la vérité. Voyez-vous?
| E-55 Now, in the Old Testament they had--they had two ways of knowing whether a man was right. First they had a law. There's the ten commandments. But if a prophet prophesied and then... a dreamer dreamed a dream, they had another way of finding out. No matter how good it sound (See?), they had a way of supernatural. God always a vindicated Himself. Don't forget this. See? God a vindicates Himself by supernatural, all ages.
Then here come a man that was a prophet, and he'd prophesy, and it sounded just so real with his theology. It sounds so real that it was perfect. But you see, in this day they'd been four hundred years without a prophet. So they said... They got a bunch of man-made theology. I don't say this to disregard: but, brethren, that's what we got into again (See?), just man-made conception of what church ought to be, what Christ ought to be. Not to be different now, if I said that just to be different, then God have mercy on my soul. I ought to be down here at the altar. But I've got to tell the truth. See?

E-56 Maintenant, maintenant, suivez. Maintenant, quand ce sacerdoce fut aboli, le sacerdoce d’Aaron, alors cet Urim Thummim fut ôté. Mais dans ce sacerdoce-ci, le sacerdoce de Melchisédek, nous avons aussi un Urim Thummim. Peu importe combien un prédicateur peut vous dire que le temps des miracles est passé, que le parler en langues n’existe pas en ce jour-ci, que le baptême du Saint-Esprit n’existe pas, la lumière n’apparaîtra pas sur l’Urim Thummim de Dieu. Et l’Urim Thummim de ce jour-ci, c’est la Bible.

And the ministering brethren know this, that if a prophet prophesied, or a dreamer dreamed a dream, no matter how good it sounds, they taken him first to the (what's called) Urim Thummim. Now, that was a breastplate that Aaron wore--twelve stones of the twelve tribes, that hung on a post in the building. They taken this prophesier or this dreamer down there. And he prophesied or--or told his dream before the Urim Thummim. And if the supernatural lights begin to flash--God, moving against this twelve stones, made a conglomeration of lights like a rainbow--that was God saying,"It's true." But if it did not do it, then they did not believe it. No matter how well it sound, it was wrong.
Now, when that priesthood was done away with, the Aaronic priesthood, then that Urim Thummim was taken away. But in this priesthood, the Melchisedec priesthood, we also have a Urim Thummim. No matter how well a minister can tell you that the days of miracles is past, that there is no such a thing as speaking in tongues in this day, there is no such a thing as the baptism of the Holy Ghost, that won't flash on God's Urim Thummim. And the Urim Thummim of this day is the Bible.

La puissance est dans l’Eglise, mais l’Eglise a oublié cette puissance. Les gens ne l’exercent pas. Ils ne la mettent pas en pratique. Vous voyez donc, c’est devenu de nouveau une théologie, une théologie humaine. Et alors, cela ne concorde pas avec la Bible de Dieu. La Bible de Dieu demeure toujours la même: «Jésus-Christ est le même hier, aujourd’hui et éternellement. Vous ferez aussi les oeuvres que Je fais. Voici, Je suis avec vous tous les jours, même jusqu’à la fin du monde.» Voyez-vous? Oh! c’est... «Celui qui croit en Moi, vivra quand bien même il serait mort; et quiconque vit et croit en Moi ne mourra point. Crois-tu cela?» a-t-Il dit.
Marthe a répondu: «Oui, Seigneur, je crois que Tu es le Fils de Dieu qui devait venir dans le monde.»
Il a dit: «Où l’avez-vous enterré?...?...»

Is the power's in the church, but the church has forgot it. They don't practice it. They don't put it into practice. So you see, it's become again a theology, a man-made theology. And when it does, it doesn't compare with God's Bible. God's Bible still remains the same: "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever. The works that I do shall you also. Lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the world." See? Oh, it's... "He that believeth on Me, though he were dead yet shall he live; and whosoever liveth and believeth on Me shall never die. Believeth thou this?" He said.
Martha said, "Yea, Lord I believe that You're the Son of God that would come into the world."
Said, "Where have you buried him?...?...

C’est juste écrit avec le Nom et le Sang du Seigneur Jésus-Christ dans le Ciel. Là-bas vous n’aurez pas à changer cela en passant d’une église à une autre. Votre nom...
Il n’y a qu’une seule Eglise, une seule Eglise chrétienne, et il n’y a qu’une seule façon d’y entrer, ce n’est pas par une poignée de mains, ce n’est pas par une aspersion, ce n’est pas par une forme de baptême d’eau; mais c’est par un seul Esprit que nous sommes tous baptisés pour former un seul Corps, et devenir des membres du Corps de Christ.
| E-58 Something had to happen when real faith is brought up with the Word of God. Therefore, brethren, the Word of God is right every time. But those priests had wound It around and made traditions. "We are Pharisees. We wash the pots this way."

There's only one Church, one Christian church, and there's only one way into it, not handshaking, not sprinkling, not some form of baptism of water; but by one Spirit we are all baptized into one body, and become members of the body of Christ.

Je ne pense pas qu’un homme qui marche dans la volonté de Dieu puisse passer à côté de la volonté de Dieu. Je ne crois pas qu’un homme qui marche dans l’Esprit puisse passer à côté de la volonté de Dieu. Il pourrait penser l’avoir fait, mais Dieu fait concourir tout cela parfaitement. Il conduit toutes choses à bonne fin.
| E-59 Now, but you see they've took the traditions and made the commandments of God of none effect.
Jesus was trying to tell them, "I've come just exactly the way the prophet said I would come, and you would believe it not."
And just a word behind here--they said, "We would seek a sign from thee. We would seek a sign." Oh, every, every generation God has had gifts in His Church.
Now, we notice (before we get to our text) He referred back to Jonah. And a lot of people has always thought of Jonah as being a man that missed the will of God. I didn't believe that any man walking in the will of God can miss the will of God. I don't believe that any man walking in the Spirit can miss the will of God. He might think he did, but God makes it all work together right. He brings everything out right.

J’ai dit: «Fiston, il faut t’en tenir à la manière dont tu es conduit. Eh bien, cela importe peu si tu dois être étendu à plat ventre, et boire de l’eau plate, et manger des biscuits secs, ou que tu aies à manger du poulet trois fois par jour, reste dans la volonté de Dieu.» C’est juste. Peu importe le prix, il faut s’en tenir à cela. C’est à cela que Dieu vous a appelé. Maintenant, nous voyons que c’est vrai. Eh bien, remarquez autre chose.

As it was in the days of Jonas..." Now, Jonah, we know, we think, that God sent him over to Nineveh, but he got on the road and went to Tarshish. We think the prophet backslid. He didn't backslide.
I was reading something on him here not long ago. And it sounded very good to me, and here's the way it went. Jonah got on the boat, and he went down... And people thought that he was out of the will of God, but he was in the will of God. We know a storm came up, and they tied his hands behind him, and his feet, and throwed him out into the water. And God had a big whale to come up, or a big fish, and swallow him.

E-62 Et tout le monde sait qu’après qu’un poisson a mangé, d’habitude il va au fond de l’eau, et là, il fait reposer ses nageoires, ses flotteurs, ses nageoires, au fond de l’eau. Donnez à manger à votre petit poisson rouge et observez ce qui se passe. Son ventre est plein, alors il–il descend pour se reposer. Eh bien, quand cette baleine eut le ventre plein de ce prédicateur, elle–elle est descendue directement au fond de la mer pour se reposer.
Et j’ai toujours pris Jonas en pitié. Vous savez, Jonas... S’il y a quelqu’un qui avait raison de parler des symptômes... Beaucoup d’entre nous disent: «Eh bien, on a prié pour moi, mais je suis toujours malade.» Qu’est-ce que cela a à voir avec la chose? Il vous est demandé de croire, pas de sentir, mais de croire. Et vous direz: «Eh bien, on a prié pour moi, il y a deux soirées ma main n’allait pas bien, et il n’y a pas de changement. Je pense que j’ai manqué la chose.» Eh bien, vous l’aviez manquée dès le départ. Voyez-vous? Si vous aviez cru dès le départ, vous n’auriez pas du tout fait attention à cela. Voyez-vous?

And I always felt sorry for Jonah. You know, Jonah... If there's anybody that's got a reason to talk about symptoms... So many of us say, "Well, I was prayed for, but I'm still sick." What has that got to do with it? You were asked to believe, not to feel, but believe. And you say, "Well, I was prayed for, I had a bad hand two nights ago, no difference. I guess I missed it." Well, you missed it at the beginning. See? If you'd have believed it at the beginning, you'd have never paid any attention to that. See?

E-63 Vous parlez des symptômes, Jonas en avait vraiment. Jonas savait que lors de la dédicace de ce temple, Salomon avait prié et dit: «Ô Dieu, quand Ton peuple aura des ennuis quelque part et qu’il regardera à ce saint temple et priera, alors exauce des cieux.» Et Jonas avait confiance que cet homme avait la foi en Dieu, et Dieu a entendu la prière de Salomon. Et Dieu a gardé cet homme en vie pendant trois jours et trois nuits dans le ventre de cette baleine, et la baleine l’a amené à bon port. Je ne sais pas si Dieu avait placé une bombonne d’oxygène là à l’intérieur, je ne sais pas ce qu’Il avait fait, mais Il l’a gardé en vie.
| E-63 Talk about symptoms, Jonah had symptoms. Looky here: Now, he was down in the belly of the whale, hands tied behind him, feet tied behind him, in a stormy sea, probably forty fathoms deep in the sea, in the belly of the whale, the vomit of the whale around him. He looked this way, it was whale's belly; that way was whale's belly; everywhere he looked was whale's belly. There's nobody here that bad off tonight, I'm sure. Oh, whale's belly everywhere he looked.
But you know what he said? He refused to see it. He said, "They are lying vanities; but once more will I look to Your holy temple, Lord." Oh, my.
Jonah knew that when that temple was dedicated, that Solomon prayed, and said, "God, if Thy people be in trouble anywhere and will look to this holy temple and pray, then hear from heaven." And Jonah had confidence that that man had faith in God, and God heared Solomon's prayer. And God kept that man alive three days and nights in the belly of that whale, and delivered him over to the right place. Whether He put a oxygen tank in there, I don't know what He done, but He kept him alive.

E-64 Et si Jonas, dans de telles circonstances, dans cette situation-là, a pu regarder à un temple construit par l’homme et pour lequel un homme avait prié, à combien plus forte raison devrions-nous ce soir, dans ces circonstances, détourner nos regards d’un temple, et les tourner vers le Trône où Dieu est assis, et où Jésus est à la droite de Dieu avec Son propre vêtement ensanglanté, intercédant pour ce que nous professons, assis en tant que le Souverain Sacrificateur sur un Trône. Alors les symptômes ne représentent rien pour nous. Dieu l’a dit et c’est tout.
Jésus est assis là ce soir pour faire votre confession juste devant Dieu. Il est le Souverain Sacrificateur qui intercède sur base de notre confession. Vous devez croire la chose et la confesser, que c’est ainsi, et alors Jésus peut se mettre au travail pour vous sur cette base-là.
| E-64 And if Jonah, under those circumstances, in that condition, could look to a temple that was made by man and prayed over by a man, how much more ought we tonight, under these conditions, look away from a temple, but to the throne where God sits there, and Jesus on His right hand with His own Bloody garments making intercession for our profession, setting as High Priest upon a throne. Symptoms doesn't mean anything to us then. Good said so and that's all.
Jesus is setting there tonight to make your confession right before God. He's a High Priest to make intercessions upon our confession. You've got to believe it and confess it, that it's so, and then Jesus can go to work on it for you.

E-65 Oh, oui. Dieu l’a gardé en vie pendant trois jours et trois nuits. Et alors nous le voyons. Et il nous est rapporté que tous les Ninivites s’étaient détournés de Dieu et s’étaient mis à adorer des animaux, ce qui est une caractéristique païenne, et ils étaient... And we was told that all the Ninevites had turned away from God and went to worshipping animals, which is a heathen trait, and they was... Most all around Nineveh, it was on the seashore, so the occupation was fishing. And the god of the sea was the whale. He was the largest specie in the--in the ocean, and that was the god of the ocean.
One day about forenoon, when they were all out there fishing, the thousands of them fishing, all at once up came the big whale god. Run up to the shore and licked his tongue out, and the prophet walked right out of his mouth. Sure, they repented. Certainly. The god of the sea delivered the prophet right up. God knows how to do things. So He had to put him in the whale's belly, don't you see?

E-66 Ainsi Jonas ne s’était pas mal conduit vis-à-vis de Dieu. Il n’était pas passé à côté... Il–il était préoccupé par les affaires de Dieu. Dieu a fait cela pour montrer qu’Il était Dieu. Quel genre de signe cette génération méchante et adultère recevra-t-elle? Le signe de la résurrection. Amen. C’est ce que nous voyons maintenant. Christ vivant parmi nous, le signe de la résurrection. Amen. Le Christ de Galilée faisant les mêmes choses, les mêmes oeuvres parmi Son peuple, vivant parmi les mortels, accomplissant les signes du Dieu vivant parmi eux. Cette génération méchante et adultère dans laquelle nous vivons a reçu le signe de Jonas, la résurrection, la puissance de résurrection qui peut élever un pécheur de la vie du péché, en prenant des femmes pécheresses, incroyantes, impies, possédées de démons, et en faire des croyantes. Prendre des hommes qui sont aussi bas et moralement vils, et en faire des gentlemen. Ce qui arriva en ce jour-là, une génération méchante et adultère recevrait un signe, et ce serait le signe de la résurrection.

What kind of a sign would this wicked, adulternous generation get? The sign of the resurrection. Amen. That's what we find now. Christ alive among us, the sign of the resurrection. Amen. The Christ of Galilee doing the same things, the same works with His people, living amongst the mortals, performing the signs of a living God among them. That wicked and adulterous generation we're living in, has got the sign of Jonas, the resurrection, the resurrection power that can lift the sinner from the life of sin, to take sinful women, unbelieving, ungodly, demon-possessed; make believers out of them. Take men as low and stooped in morals; make gentlemen out of them. As it was in that day, a wicked and adulternous generation would receive a sign, and it would be the sign of the resurrection.

Sondez les Ecritures et montrez-moi. Nous sommes au temps de la fin, église. Nous sommes au bout du chemin. Des moqueurs, des impies (Excusez-moi, je–je ne cherche pas à vous crier dessus), mais des moqueurs, des signes du temps de la fin que nous voyons maintenant, des coeurs pervertis, des pensées perverties, opposés à Dieu: «Emportés, enflés d’orgueil, aimant le plaisir plus que Dieu. Déloyaux, calomniateurs, intempérants, ennemis des gens de bien.» Vous dites que ce sont des communistes. Il s’agit de ceux qui confessent être des chrétiens. Juste au verset suivant, la Bible dit: «Ayant l’apparence de la piété, mais reniant ce qui en fait la force. Eloigne-toi de ces hommes-là.» C’est l’Ecriture. Il les a amenés à ce signe-là.
| E-69 Remember in the last night's message, or yesterday afternoon, that we are living in the last days, in the sign of Abraham's seed getting the same last sign. I ask any man or woman to tell me one sign promised in the Bible outside of this last sign. Show what it was, how Abraham... Brought through justification, Luther's age; sanctification, Wesley's age; Holy Spirit, Pentecostal age, confirming, placing the gifts in His church; and then appeared with His back turned, and discern the thoughts that Sarah in the back and behind him like that. And the next thing was a fire to the unbelievers, and the transfiguration of Abraham's body and them to receive the promised son.
Search the Scriptures and show me. We're at the end-time, church. We're at the end of the road. Scoffers, ungodly (excuse me, I--I'm not wanting to yell at you) but scoffers, end time signs that we're living in now, perverted hearts, perverted minds, contrary to God: "Heady, high minded, lovers of pleasure than lovers of God. Truce-breakers, false accusers, incontinent, and despisers of those that are good." You say that's communists. That's confessed Christians. The Bible said, the very next verse, "Having a form of godliness but denying the power of God, from such turn away." That's Scriptural. He brought them into that sign.

E-70 Et puis, nous voyons ensuite qu’Il a alors parlé du temps de Salomon. Dans chaque génération Dieu a eu des dons, tout au long des âges. Eh bien, remarquez au temps de Salomon. Vous tous, lecteurs de la Bible, vous savez que c’était l’âge d’or d’Israël. Dieu leur a envoyé un don. Ils y ont cru. Au temps de Salomon il n’y avait point de guerre. Dieu a donné à Salomon un don de discernement qui était si puissant que chaque personne en Israël, eux tous, y croyaient. Ils ont construit le temple. Il n’y avait point de guerre, et les nations leur envoyaient des dons et tout. Je dirais ceci: comme ils croyaient et que leur popularité s’était répandue dans le monde entier, c’était la nation la plus puissante du monde.
Je dirais ce soir que le Canada, que les Etats-Unis, nos espoirs ne sont pas bâtis sur quelque chose tel que nous pourrions nous retirer dans un abri antiaérien pour nous mettre à l’abri des bombes atomiques. Comment pourriez-vous creuser pour y échapper? Eh bien, celles que nous connaissons feraient dans le sol un trou de cent cinquante pieds [45 m] sur une surface de cent miles carrés [160 km²]. Ça, ce sont celles que nous connaissons. Que dire de celles que nous ne connaissons pas? Eh bien, si vous creusiez à cinq mille pieds [1524 m], vous... All you Bible readers know that was the golden age to Israel. God sent them a gift. They believed it. The days of Solomon there was no war. They was all afraid, because the people were with one heart, one accord. God gave Solomon a gift of discernment, and it was so powerful, till every person in Israel, all of them, believed it. They built the temple. There was no wars, and the nations sent them in gifts and things. I'll say this: because they believed and their popularity was strung all over the world, and the mightiest nation there was in the world.
I'll say tonight that Canada, U.S., our hopes is not built on somewhere we could go into a bomb shelter to hide from the atomic bombs. How could you ever dig out of reach of it? Why, the ones that we know about will blast a hole in the earth a hundred and fifty feet deep for a hundred miles square. That's the ones we know about. What about the ones we don't know about? Why, if you dig five thousand feet you'd... Well, of course, you'd be into lava. But if you went fifteen hundred feet, why, the concussion of that would break every bone in your body. There's no way to dig around it. The hour has come.
But we do have a bomb shelter. It's not made out of steel; it's made out of feathers: "Under His wings we will abide." When the bombs falls, we'll be in glory. But you notice this hour has arrived to us.

E-71 Maintenant, qu’arriverait-il si tous les... le Canada, tous les Etats-Unis, nous tous ici ensemble, si nous croyions au don que Dieu nous a donné, le Saint-Esprit? Qu’arriverait-il ce soir au Canada si tous les hommes et toutes les femmes qui confessent être chrétiens se réunissaient, priaient et acceptaient le baptême du Saint-Esprit? Les nations auraient tellement peur du Canada. Rien qu’avec une toute petite poignée de gens qui sont ici, et le très grand dominion que vous êtes; mais les nations s’agenouilleraient devant vous–devant vous. Certainement, c’est ce qui arriverait. C’est tout simplement parce que nous n’acceptons pas la chose, c’est tout. Au temps de Salomon ils ont tous accepté cela.
| E-71 Now, what if all the... Canada, all of the United States, all of us here together, would believe on the gift that God has given us, the Holy Ghost? Why, you wouldn't have to worry about Russia. Why, the nations would fear us. God would put a fear upon them. He did it when he went into Palestine. Remember what Rahab the harlot told the spies? "Fear... we have no life left in us, because we heard what God did for you." God can do the same thing, but what are we trying to do? Make our own achievement. Why not take God's way of doing it?
What would happen in Canada tonight if every man and woman that professed to be Christians would come together and pray and accept the baptism of the Holy Spirit? The nations would be so scared of Canada. Only a little bitty handful of people here, and the great big dominion as you are; but you'd--you'd have the nations on their knees. Certainly, you would. Because we just don't accept it, that's all. In the days of Solomon they all accepted.

Et la seule façon dont ils pouvaient savoir ces choses, c’était en faisant circuler les nouvelles de bouche à oreille, et par les caravanes pendant qu’elles traversaient le pays. Et partout où les gens passaient pour le commerce et les échanges, et ainsi de suite, les gens partaient en disant: «Vous devriez aller en Israël. Oh! vous devriez voir ce que leur Dieu a fait. Il a placé Son Esprit sur un homme, et cet homme a la sagesse, le discernement. C’est si puissant que rien ne peut tenir devant lui.» Quelle chose glorieuse était-ce! Oh! les gens étaient dans l’étonnement. Toutes les nations avaient peur. Them days they didn't have television, thank the Lord. And so... Or things like we have today. And the only way they know is bring in news from lip to ear, and through the caravans as they pass the country. And everywhere people coming through in the commerce and trade, and so forth, they'd go away saying, "You should go up in Israel. Oh, you should see what their God has did. He's put His Spirit upon a man, and that man has wisdom, discernment. It's so powerful that nothing can stand before him." What a great thing that was. Oh, the people would wonder. All nations feared. They sent thousands of sheep and oxen, everything, to make peace with them. "We don't want them people angry with us, because you know it's written it's better that a millstone hanged at your neck, you know, and drown in the..."

E-73 Ainsi la nouvelle parvint finalement jusqu’à Séba. C’est de l’autre côté du désert du Sahara, dans le Midi. «La reine du Midi», Jésus s’y est référé. Everybody coming through, and passed through, these great caravans of camels and things, they'd all say, "Well, how are things going up in this nation?"
Everybody, "Well, fair."
"But you ought to go to Israel. Oh, it's the most magnificent thing you ever seen. Their God has put His Spirit upon one of the brothers, and them people are in one accord (My, there you are.) Every Israelite believes in him." Oh, if we'd just get ourself in one accord, put our hearts... Not because we're Methodist, Baptist, Presbyterian, but put our hearts upon the gift, the Holy Spirit. One accord--Methodists believe it; Baptists believe it; Pentecostals believe it; Presbyterians believe it; Catholics believe in it. Oh, my, wouldn't it be a... Oh, that'd be in the millennium.

E-74 Certainement, d’un commun accord. «Tout le monde y croit. Vous devriez simplement les voir. Oh! oh! la la! leur Dieu déverse Sa sagesse sur cet homme. Vous n’avez jamais rien vu de pareil. Rien ne peut tenir devant lui. Et ce n’est qu’un homme; mais c’est l’Esprit de Dieu qui est sur lui.»

Vous voyez? Vous voyez, la foi vient en écoutant, en écoutant la Parole de Dieu. Maintenant, elle a commencé à avoir un grand désir d’aller voir par elle-même.

"Oh, it's certainly true. You never seen such in your life. I stood in the meeting there one day, and I seen that man discern the people till... it just had to be something supernatural."
"Blessed are they that do hunger and thirst for righteousness." See? See, faith cometh by hearing, hearing the Word of God. Now, she begin to thirst to go see for herself.

Ne t’associe jamais à cette bande de saints exaltés (Vous savez, mes amis, à cette, excusez-moi pour ça, à cette ‘bande’) là-bas parce qu’ils ne sont qu’un petit...»

Your great-grandmother belonged to this church; her great-grandmother belonged to this church. You are a member here. And you're a dignified person. You are a queen. Don't you never associate yourself with that bunch of holy-rollers (you know, 'people,' that, excuse me, that 'bunch') up there because they're just a little..."

E-76 –Oh! mais, mon seigneur, on m’apprend qu’ils–ils... l’Esprit de leur Dieu est sur un homme (Voyez-vous?), et qu’ils sont–et qu’ils–et que cet homme accomplit des oeuvres que Dieu accomplit, que leur Dieu accomplit.

Vous savez, ces esprits ne meurent pas. Ils continuent à vivre. You know them spirits don't die. They just keep living on. See? "It would happen with us if there was such a thing, but being it's not our denomination, why, of course, there's nothing to it. That didn't satisfy her. She said, "But, sir, look, they tell me that it is a living God."
"Dear, look at the--look at the gods that we have here."
"Yes, that's right. All the books and gods, but I never seen nothing move in them. Grandma didn't see nothing move in them, and her grandma didn't see nothing move in them. They're nothing but a bunch of words. They're nothing but a bunch of idols. But they tell me that is a living God, Who lives in human beings. (Amen.) I want to see something real. (Bless her little heart.) I want to see something that's got some life to it, not a dead idol, not a dead formal theology."

Sondez les Ecritures, voyez si la chose est juste ou pas. Amen. (Je ne suis pas en train de dire amen à moi-même, mais «amen» veut dire qu’il en soit ainsi.) Je–je le crois de tout mon coeur.

Elle a dit: «Si la chose n’est pas juste, je vais ramener mon argent. Si c’est juste, j’y dois quelque chose.» C’est le sentiment que nous devrions avoir. Si c’est Dieu, nous devons à cela non seulement notre argent (notre argent, c’est peu de choses) mais nos coeurs, notre temps, nos talents, et tout ce que nous avons, nous les devons à Dieu. Si c’est juste, allons-y avec tout ce que nous avons. Si ce n’est pas juste, allons chercher ce qui est juste, alors engageons-nous dans cela.

Support your pastor; support your church; support the cause that stands for the right things. That's right.
She said, "If it's not right, I'll bring my money back. If it is right, I owe something to it." That's the way we should feel. If this be God, not only our money--our money's little--but be owing our hearts, our time, our talents; and everything that we have, we owe it to God. If it's right, let's go into it with everything we got. If it isn't right, go find what is right, then get into it.

J’ai dit cela dans une grande université l’autre soir, pendant que le doyen et tous les autres étaient assis là. Lui ne savait donc pas, comme... Cet homme était assis là, réfléchissant comme cela, il ne savait pas que je saisissais cela juste là à l’estrade. Certainement. Il était assis là derrière, se disant: «Oh! il a certainement... certainement c’est un psychologue. Il l’est certainement.»
J’ai dit: «Si donc je suis un psychologue, doyen, je vous demande de venir ici à l’estrade et de continuer ce service. Je n’ai pas de doctorat, et je ne sais rien de la psychologie. Si vous avez une meilleure façon de le faire, alors venez ici.» Le doyen de l’université... J’ai dit: «Il y a un docteur en psychologie. Montez ici faire cela, venez. Vous êtes des docteurs en psychologie. Mais si vous ne pouvez pas le faire, alors gardez silence à ce sujet. Exactement. C’est juste. Si vous ne pouvez pas le faire, si vous ne pouvez pas manifester cela, taisez-vous. Laissez Dieu tranquille.» C’est juste. Oh! c’était un groupe très silencieux.
| E-81 Jesus said, "If I cast out devils, you can do it a better way, come do it. You can do it better, then come do it a better way, He said. "But if I cast out devils by the finger of God, know the Kingdom of God's come nigh unto you." See? "Now," He said, "if you've got a better way than the Scriptures say, let's see you produce it." That's right.

That man, sitting there thinking that, didn't know that I was catching it right on the platform. Sure. He set back there saying, "Oh, he sure has got... certainly is a psychologist. He certainly is."
I said, "Then if I am a psychologist, dean, I ask you to come here to the platform and carry this service on. I have no Ph.D. and know nothing about psychology. If you got a better way of doing it, then come here." Dean of the school... I said, "There's a doctor of psychology. Come up here and perform it, Come on. You're doctors of psychology. But if you can't do it, then keep still about it. Right. That's right. If you can't do it, can't produce it, shut up. Let God alone." Right. Oh, it was a mighty quiet bunch.

E-82 Nous voyons donc que la petite reine a tout préparé pour partir. Et elle a fait charger ses chameaux. Maintenant, n’oubliez pas, elle devait affronter beaucoup d’obstacles. Souvenez-vous, en ce temps-là les enfants d’Ismaël étaient dans le désert, et ils étaient des brigands. Oh! quelle proie facile pour ces bandes de cavaliers qui n’avaient qu’à fondre carrément sur ce groupe de petits gardes et les tailler en pièces en une minute, et sur ces quelques petites femmes-là, et les tailler en pièces et... qui traversaient ce désert du Sahara. Et alors qu’allaient-ils faire? Ils s’empareraient de toute cette richesse.
Mais, vous savez, quand vous avez soif de Dieu, si vous avez soif, votre foi ne craint rien. Vous savez, quand vous avez soif de Dieu, il n’existe pas dix millions de démons qui puissent vous éloigner de Lui. Quand vous croyez en Dieu; il n’existe point de démons qui puissent vous retenir...?... plus...?... Vous ne pensez pas aux circonstances. Vous avez un objectif, c’est d’aller vers Dieu, en dépit de tout ce que quelqu’un dirait à ce sujet. Oh! cela aurait pu être facile pour eux; mais, vous voyez, quand vous avez faim et soif, vous serez rassasié, Dieu veillera à ce que vous y parveniez. Elle n’a pas du tout pensé à cela.

But, you know, if you're thirsting for God, if you're hungering, there's no fear in your faith. You know, when you're hungering for God, there isn't ten million devils can keep you away from Him. You believe God; there isn't a devil can hold you...?... any more...?... You don't think about the circumstances. You got one objective: that's go to God, regardless of who says anything about it. Oh, it could've been easy for them; but, you see, if you are hungering and thirsting, you shall be filled, God will see that you get there. She never thought nothing about that.

E-83 Combien de temps le voyage a-t-il duré? On a des automobiles, des avions et tout le reste; il n’est pas étonnant que Jésus ait dit: «Elle se lèvera au jour du Jugement et condamnera cette génération. Elle vint des extrémités de la terre pour écouter la sagesse de Salomon, mais il y a ici plus que Salomon», a-t-Il dit. Certainement. Et ce soir, il y a ici plus que Salomon: le Saint-Esprit, le Dieu même de Salomon. Il y a ici plus que Salomon.
Qu’a-t-elle fait? Après avoir traversé le désert... Elle a commencé à voyager la nuit, parce que le contact direct avec les rayons de ce soleil vous arracherait carrément la peau. Et la voilà qui traverse... sur le dos de ces chameaux, lisant ces rouleaux, ce qu’était Jéhovah. Amen. Comme elle faisait son chemin, le diable lui disait: «Tu ferais mieux de rentrer.»«Je suis déterminée à voir cela.» Oh! frère, heureux ceux... Le voilà venir. «Maintenant, nous voyons que Jéhovah fait ceci; Il est apparu dans les prophètes. Il a fait ceci; c’est Sa façon de faire. Le prophète a prédit des choses. C’est un homme qui a le même Esprit de discernement. Et si ça marche, je le verrai. J’irai voir, et je verrai si c’est juste.» Finalement, elle est arrivée à la porte.

She came from the utmost parts of the world to hear the wisdom of Solomon, but a greater than Solomon is here." He said. Certainly. And a greater than Solomon is here tonight: the Holy Spirit, the very God of Solomon. A greater than Solomon is here.
What did she do? After crossing the desert... She began to travel of a night, because of that direct rays of that sun will beat the hide right off of you. And here she come through... those camels, riding on there, reading those scrolls, what Jehovah was. Amen. On her way the devil said, "You better go back."
"I'm determined to find it." Oh, brother, blessed are they..." Here he come. "Now, we see that Jehovah does this; He appeared in the prophets. He did this; this is His way. The prophet foretold things. Here's a man with that same Spirit of discernment. And if that works, I'll find out. I'll go see, and I'll see if it's right." Finally she arrived at the gate.

Le lendemain matin, je peux m’imaginer qu’elle a arrangé ses cheveux, vous savez, et qu’elle–elle s’est lavé les mains, et le visage, et qu’elle a mis ses meilleurs vêtements, et elle est allée à l’église. Elle s’est assise. Et le–l’orchestre, les trompettes ont sonné, la musique a joué, juste avant le début du culte. Et au bout d’un moment, le pasteur Salomon est sorti. Il est monté à la chaire et a commencé à parler.

Il porte des vêtements; c’est juste un homme, comme tout autre homme. Je vais donc voir si c’est Dieu dans cet homme.» Ainsi bien vite, quelqu’un est venu à l’estrade devant le pasteur Salomon, et celui-ci lui a révélé les secrets. Alors le petit coeur de la reine a commencé à bondir.
Ensuite, le jour suivant, il fut dit davantage de choses. Le jour suivant, davantage de choses furent dites. Jour après jour, et finalement, sa carte de prière fut appelée, et alors (peut-être pas comme cela. De toute façon, vous savez...) Mais elle est entrée dans la ligne de prière. Elle s’est dit: «Eh bien, je vais voir ce qu’il dira quand il arrivera à moi.» Ainsi peu après elle est montée sur l’estrade où se tenait Salomon. «Bonjour.» Et la Bible dit qu’il n’y avait aucune question qu’elle avait sur le coeur, qui ne fût révélée à Salomon. Amen. Frère, cela a alors agi sur elle.
| E-85 And when the first person come up, she said, "Now, I'll see. I know just exactly what Jehovah is, their God. I'm going to see if He works like that. He knows the thoughts of the heart. He knows the secrets of the mind. So we'll see. I know that man's a man. I see him standing there. He's got clothes on; he's just a man, like any other man. So I'll just see if that is God in that man." So the first thing, a person come across the platform to Pastor Solomon, and he told them the secrets made known. Then her little heart begin to jump.
Next thing, the next day, more was said. The next day, more was said. Day after day, and finally her prayer card was called, and so (Maybe not like that. Anyhow, you know... ) But she got into the prayer line. She said, "Now, I'll see what he says when he gets to me." So after while she walks up on the platform to where he was. "How do you do?" And the Bible said that there was no question in her heart but what was made known to Solomon. Amen. Brother, it worked on her then.

Mais un Esprit est sur lui, car il ne me connaissait pas; mais Dieu lui a révélé ce qu’il y a sur mon coeur.» Elle a dit: «Son Dieu peut être mon Dieu. Les choses que j’ai entendues à Son sujet sont merveilleuses. Elles étaient toutes vraies, et c’est au-delà de ce que j’ai entendu.» Pourquoi? Cela a agi sur elle. Voyez-vous? C’était sa propre expérience. Plus que ceci. C’est plus glorieux que ce que j’avais entendu.» Et elle a dit: «Heureux les hommes qui sont avec lui tout le temps pour voir cette chose à l’oeuvre. Heureux sont ces hommes.» Elle n’adorerait aucun autre dieu que ce Dieu-là. Pourquoi? Elle avait faim et soif. Son coeur avait été satisfait. Jésus a dit: «Au jour du Jugement, elle se tiendra là et condamnera cette génération des Juifs et des Gentils, car elle est venue des extrémités de la terre pour écouter la sagesse de Salomon, et voici, il y a ici plus que Salomon.» Oh! depuis lors nous avons eu environ deux mille cinq cents ans d’enseignement et d’expériences, mais il y a ici plus que Salomon, le Saint-Esprit, Jésus-Christ sous la forme de l’Esprit, vivant dans Son Eglise, et accomplissant la même chose qu’Il faisait quand Il était ici sur terre, manifestant Sa résurrection à une génération adultère.

I shook his hand; I looked at him. He's a man. But there's a Spirit on him, for he didn't know me; but God has revealed to him what's in my heart." She said, "His God can be my God. The things that I heard about Him is wonderful. They were all true, and more than I heard." 'Cause why? It worked on her. See? It was her own experience. More than this. It's greater than I heard about." And she said, "Even blessed is the men that's with him all the time to see this thing working. Blessed are the men." She'd never worship no other god but that God. Why? She was hungering and thirsting. Her heart had been satisfied.
Jesus said, "She'll stand in the day of judgment and condemn this generation of Jews and Gentiles, for she came from the utmost parts of the world to hear the wisdom of solomon, and behold, a greater than Solomon is here." Oh, we've had about twenty-five hundred of teaching and experience since then, and a greater than Solomon is here: the Holy Spirit, Jesus Christ in Spirit form, living in His Church, and bringing to pass the same thing that He did when He was here on earth, showing His resurrection to the adulternous generation.

E-87 Quel était le problème de cette femme? Pourquoi a-t-elle dit cela? Ecoutez, les amis, pour terminer, de cette façon–elle avait vu quelque chose de réel. Et toute personne honnête qui est dans son bon sens, et qui est honnête et sincère, désire voir quelque chose de réel. C’est ce que le monde cherche aujourd’hui. Jésus n’a jamais dit: «Eh bien, si Je n’accomplis pas l’enseignement de mon Père...» Il a dit: «Si Je ne fais pas les oeuvres de Mon Père, alors ne Me croyez pas. Mais si Je fais les oeuvres de Mon Père, alors croyez les oeuvres. Si vous ne pouvez pas Me croire en tant qu’un Homme, croyez aux oeuvres de Mon Père que Je fais.» Voyez-vous?
Elle a vu quelque chose de réel. Elle a vu quelque chose; pas un tas de credos qu’on a rédigé, mais elle a vu quelque chose de réel. C’est ce que les gens veulent voir aujourd’hui, les gens honnêtes: quelque chose de réel.

And any honest hearted person that's mentally balanced, and honest and sincere, wants to see something real. That's what the world's looking for today. It's not a bunch of theology, not of some man that can... Jesus never did say, "Well, if I do not the teaching of My Father..." He said, "If I do not the works of My Father, then don't believe Me. But if I do the works of My Father, then believe the works. If you can't believe Me as a man, believe the works that I do of My Father." See?

Ma conversion, depuis que je... La première fois que j’ai gagné de l’argent, c’était vingt-cinq cents. J’ai acheté un piège en acier, j’ai commencé à tendre des pièges. Depuis lors je suis dans la chose. Ainsi je–j’aime tout simplement rester seul dans les bois. Je vois Dieu dans le bois. Je monte dans les montagnes, je monte au sommet de la montagne, et je contemple le lever du soleil, et je me tiens là, et je crie devant Dieu.
Il y a quelque temps là dans le Colorado (Je suis un guide dans le Colorado), j’ai travaillé là dans un ranch. Un jour, le propriétaire du ranch et moi sommes allés chasser l’élan. Tous les gars qui étaient venus étaient déjà partis; alors nous–nous sommes allés chasser l’élan. Nous sommes allés loin au fond, là où les néophytes (comme vous les appelez, les novices) ne pourraient pas aller. Nous sommes allés donc très loin dans les hauteurs. Et il est allé dans une autre direction. Je ne le voyais pas pendant environ une semaine. J’ai attaché mon cheval de selle. C’était un peu... Ce jour-là le temps était un peu sec. Les élans n’étaient pas encore descendus. Et je suis allé tout en haut, à la limite des arbres. La pluie tombe, et ensuite il y a la gelée, et ensuite il neige, et ensuite il y a la pluie qui tombe; et ensuite le soleil brille. Vous savez comment ça se passe en automne.

Go up into the mountains, climb up on top of the mountain and watch the sunrise, and stand there and scream before God.
Here some time ago, over in Colorado (I'm a guide in Colorado), worked on a ranch there. One day the rancher and I had went elk hunting. We'd done got all the dudes in and out, so we--we went elk hunting. We went away on back where the tenderfoots (as you call them, cheechakers) couldn't go. So we went way up high. And he went over in another range. I wouldn't see him for about a week. I tied up my saddle horse. Had been kind of... That day had been a dry season. The elk hadn't been run down yet. And I'd went way up high to the timberline. It'll come a rain, and it'll freeze, and then come a snow, and then it'll come a rain, and then the sun will shine. You know how it is in the fall of the year.

J’avais la tête baissée comme ceci, disant: «Ô Dieu, Tu es merveilleux! Tu es le Dieu de la montagne; Tu es le Dieu de la vallée. Tu es Dieu quand nous sommes pauvres; Tu es Dieu quand nous sommes riches. Tu es Dieu quand nous sommes malades; Tu es Dieu quand nous sommes heureux. Tu es Dieu quand je chasse; Tu es Dieu quand je crie. Tu es Dieu en Dieu.» Et j’étais là...
Au bout d’un moment la tempête s’est calmée. J’ai regardé tout autour, je me suis dit: «Eh bien, gloire au Seigneur, la tempête est terminée. Je pense que je vais maintenant chasser mon élan.»
Et je me suis mis en marche pour partir. Et tout à coup, j’ai regardé en direction de l’ouest, vers le Canada, de ce côté-ci. Le grand soleil avait traversé cette province-ci, et de son grand oeil il perçait à travers les crevasses dans le rocher. J’ai regardé là. Je me suis dit: «Oh! oui, Jéhovah.» J’ai regardé de nouveau par ici, et il y avait un arc-en-ciel, parce que les arbres à feuilles persistantes étaient couverts de gel, vous savez; et le soleil brillait dessus et cela a formé un arc-en-ciel dans la–la–la vallée. Et je me suis dit: «Le voilà. Il est ici en haut. Il a l’aspect de la pierre de jaspe et de sardoine, Apocalypse 1, l’Alpha et l’Oméga, le Commencement et la Fin, Celui qui était, qui est et qui vient, la Racine et le Rejeton de David, l’Etoile du matin, le Lys de la vallée.» Oh! la la! Il était là, dans l’arc-en-ciel. Je me suis dit: «Ô Dieu, que Tu es grand.» Je me suis dit: «Oh! comme c’est merveilleux.»
| E-89 I was walking along through there, my eyes closed, saying, "Glory to God. You're so great, Father. Oh, You're so great. Way up here alone, where there's no gasoline or cigarettes. O God, no wonder You can live up here." I was just going along praising God. First thing you know there come a little storm across the mountains. And I'd got in behind a tree. There was a blow down there. It was almost at timberline. You I got down below, got down behind this tree, and sat down there a little bit, and the storms blowed real hard. I had my head down like this, saying, "God, You are wonderful. You're the God of the mountain; You're the God of the valley. You're God when we're poor; You're God when we're rich. You're God when we're sick; You're God when we're happy. You're God when I'm hunting; You're God when I'm crying. You're God in God." And I was there...
After while the storm let up. I looked around, and I thought, "Well, praise the Lord. storm's over. I guess I'll go hunting for my elk now."
I started to move out. And all at once I looked across toward the west, towards Canada, this way. The big sun had come across into this province here, and was peeking its great eye through the crevices in the rock. I looked over there. I thought, "Oh, yes, Jehovah," I looked back over here, and there was a rainbow, 'cause the evergreens had froze over, you know; and the sun was shining against them caused a rainbow to form across the--the--the valley. And I thought, "There He is. He's up here. He's to look upon as Jasper and Sardine stones, Revelations 1, Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End, He that was, which is, and shall come, the Root and Offspring of David, the Morning Star, the Lily of the valley." Oh, my, there He was, in the rainbow. I thought, "O God, how great Thou art." I thought, "Oh, how wonderful."

E-90 Et à peu près à ce moment-là, j’ai entendu un vieil élan beugler. Chris, tu comprends ce que je veux dire. Te voilà dans l’appel de l’élan. Te voilà dans l’appel du loup. Tu es Dieu partout. Oh! comme c’est merveilleux!» J’ai dit: «Gloire soit rendue à Dieu!» Et je me suis mis à courir sans arrêt tout autour de l’arbre, criant de toutes mes forces. Je ferais mieux de vous dire la vérité. Je criais: «Gloire à Dieu. Alléluia.» Je m’en foutais. Quiconque crie pour que quelqu’un d’autre l’entende crier est un hypocrite. Il n’y avait personne à quarante miles [64 km] de là où je me trouvais. Je sautillais tout simplement, je courais autour de l’arbre, criant: «Alléluia! alléluia! alléluia! gloire à Dieu!» Je voyais Dieu partout. Il était réel. Oh! la la! Je courais sans arrêt tout autour... Si quelqu’un était venu là dans les bois, il aurait pensé qu’il y avait là quelqu’un qui était sorti d’un asile de fous. Je ne faisais que tournoyer là. Je m’en foutais. Je passais un bon moment, je laissais échapper la vapeur. Je passais un moment merveilleux. «Alléluia, alléluia!»
| E-90 And about that time, I heard an old elk bugle. Chris, you know what I mean. Heard that, "Whee-who," like that, and I thought, "Oh, my. He got lost in the storm. He was bugling for the rest of them." I thought, "There it is: the deep, the wild, calling." An old gray wolf got to howling on the hills, his mate--mate answering down at the bottom. Then, brother, I tell you, the real part came out of me. I stood there and cried like a baby. I said, "O God, how wonderful. There You are in the rainbow. There You are in the call of the elk. There You are in the call of the wolf. You're God everywhere. Oh, how wonderful." I said, "Praise be to God."
And around and around and around the tree I went, shouting the top of my voice. Might as well tell you the truth. Hollered, "Glory to God. Hallelujah." I didn't care. Anybody shouts to let anybody else hear him shout, they're a hypocrite. Wasn't nobody in forty miles of me. I was just jumping up-and-down, running around the tree, hollering, "Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, praise God." I could see God everywhere. He was real. My, I run around and around... If somebody come in the woods, they'd have thought somebody was out of the insane institution up there. I was going around. I didn't care. I was having a good time, blowing off some of the steam. I was having a wonderful time. "Hallelujah, hallelujah."

E-91 Et je me suis arrêté et j’ai dit: «Ô Dieu, pourquoi devrai-je descendre de ces montagnes? Oh! la la! Laisse-moi vivre et mourir ici dans les hauteurs, enterre-moi ici dans les hauteurs. Amène-moi à la Maison. Je vais déposer mon fusil ici; permets que mon fils Joseph le retrouve un jour. Qu’il fasse la chasse avec, Seigneur, mais prends-moi maintenant. Laisse-moi partir.» Oh! Je passais tout simplement un moment merveilleux. Je m’étais toujours dit qu’un jour je pourrais venir dans les bois et disparaître. «Laisse–laisse-moi m’en aller, Seigneur. Que je parte. Prends-moi comme Tu as pris Elie. Envoie les chevaux.» J’étais... Oh! j’ai passé vraiment un bon moment là-bas.
Tout à coup je me suis arrêté et alors, un vieux petit... Je ne sais pas si vous en avez ici ou pas. Oui, Chris, je crois que vous les attrapez au piège, ces vieux petits écureuils de pins. Oh! ce sont les policiers des bois en veston bleu, c’est la créature la plus bruyante que vous ayez jamais entendue de votre vie, et il n’est pas assez grand pour faire quoi que ce soit. Il a sauté sur une souche et a fait: «Tchat, tchat, tchat. Tchat, tchat, tchat. Tchat, tchat, tchat.»
J’ai dit: «Eh bien, une minute, petit ami.» J’ai dit: «pourquoi es-tu si excité? Tu n’as pas aimé ça? Eh bien, regarde ceci.» Et je me suis remis à courir sans arrêt tout autour de l’arbre. J’ai dit: «Comment as-tu aimé cela?» Vous voyez? J’ai dit: «Tu aimes ça?» J’ai dit: «Sais-tu ce que je suis en train de faire? Je suis en train d’adorer notre Créateur. Tu devrais faire la même chose. Ne me dérange pas.» Et je–j’ai continué, j’ai dit: «Oh! si seulement tu Le connaissais tel que je Le connais. C’est Lui qui te donne des pommes de pin. Tu vois? Honte à toi! Ne me dérange pas pendant que j’adore. Va-t-en.» Et je me suis remis à courir sans arrêt tout autour de l’arbre.
| E-91 And I'd stopped and I said, "O God, why should I ever go down out of this mountains. My, let me live and die up here, bury me up here. Take me home. I'll set my gun here; let my son Joseph find it someday. Let him hunt with it, Lord, but take me up now. Let me go." Oh, just having a wonderful time. I had always thought that sometime I'd might come up missing in the woods. Let--let me go, Lord. Walk out. Take me like Elijah did. Send the horses along." I was... Oh, I was having such a wonderful time there.
All at once I stopped, and when I did, a little old... I don't know whether you got them here or not. Yes, Chris, I believe you trap them, them little old pine squirrels. Oh, he's a blue coat policemen of the woods, noisiest thing you ever heard in your life, and not big enough to do anything. Jumped upon on a stump and said, "Chatter, chatter, chatter. Chatter chatter, chatter. Chatter, chatter, chatter."
I said, "Now, wait a minute, little fellow." I said, "What you so excited about? You didn't like that? Now, watch this." And around and around the tree I went again. I said, "How did you like that?" See? I said, "You like that?" I said, "You know what I'm doing? I'm worshipping our Creator. You ought to do the same thing. Don't fuss at me." And I--I went ahead, I said, "Oh, if you only knew Him the way I know Him. He's the one that gives you pine cones. See? Shame on you. Don't bother me when I'm worshipping. Get out." And around and around the tree I went again.

E-92 A ce moment-là, j’ai remarqué que le petit ami ne faisait pas attention à moi. Ses petits yeux étaient révulsés sur ses joues. Il avait la tête inclinée comme cela vers le buisson. Je me suis dit: «Qu’y a-t-il?» Directement un énorme aigle qui avait été forcé de descendre là en dessous par la tempête est apparu. Je me suis dit: «Oh! c’est ce pour quoi il est tout excité, c’est à cause de cet aigle.»
Le vent avait obligé celui-ci à descendre là en dessous. Et je me suis dit: «Eh bien, maintenant, ô Dieu, pourquoi m’as-Tu arrêté, moi qui courais sans arrêt tout autour de cet arbre-ci? Je crois que Dieu fait que tout tombe bien à propos.» J’ai dit: «Pourquoi m’as-Tu arrêté moi qui courais sans arrêt tout autour de cet arbre-ci, pour me montrer ce petit écureuil des pins ainsi que cet aigle? Qu’en est-il de cet aigle? Un vieux vautour, ai-je dit, après tout, pourquoi se tient-il là?»
| E-92 About that time I noticed the little fellow wasn't noticing me. His little eyes bugged out on his cheek. He had it cocked down in the bush, like that. I thought, "What's the matter?" Directly a great big eagle had been forced down in the storm came up. I thought, "Oh, that's what he's all excited about, that eagle." The wind had blowed him under there. And I thought, "Well, now, God, why would You break me up from running around and around this tree here. I believe God makes everything happen right. I said, "Why would You break me from running around and around this tree here to let me see that little old pine squirrel with that eagle? What about the eagle? Old vulture," I said. "What's he setting there anyhow?"

E-93 Et je l’ai regardé. Je me suis dit: «Eh bien, ô Dieu, pourrais-Tu être dans cet aigle?» Je l’ai regardé et je me suis dit: «Oui. Tu es dans cet aigle, car il n’a pas peur.» Ça, c’est une chose; il n’avait pas peur. Je lui ai dit... Et Dieu n’a pas besoin d’un poltron. Si vous avez honte de témoigner, n’allez pas à l’autel. Si vous avez honte de dire: «C’est par Ses meurtrissures que je suis guéri.» Si vous avez honte de dire: «Oui, j’ai reçu le Saint-Esprit. Alléluia.» Dieu veut mettre en vous une colonne vertébrale, pas un bréchet, Il veut faire de vous quelqu’un, Il veut vous donner un témoignage.»
C’est comme l’a dit Buddy Robinson: «Donne-moi un témoignage comme une scie à rondin. Mets beaucoup de connaissance dans le tréfonds de mon âme; laisse-moi combattre l’ennemi aussi longtemps que j’aurais une dent, et puis je le mordrais avec mes gencives jusqu’à ce que je meure.» C’était cela son témoignage, le vieil oncle Buddy, vous savez. Et c’est aussi ce qu’il voulait vraiment dire. Ainsi donc, à quatre-vingt-cinq ans, il parcourait soixante mille miles [96560 km] par an à bord d’une petite Chevrolet, prêchant encore l’Evangile. Il a écrit un livre dont un million d’exemplaires ont été vendus. Il ne connaissait pas la différence entre un nom et un prénom. Il disait: «Je ne savais pas. J’ai juste écrit la chose...» Mais c’était un grand homme de Dieu.
| E-93 And I looked at him. I thought, "Well, God, could You be in that eagle?" I looked at him, and I thought, "Yes. You are, because he's not scared." That's one thing; he wasn't afraid. I said to him... And God don't want a coward. If you're ashamed to testify, don't go to the altar. You're ashamed to say, "By His stripes I'm healed." You're ashamed to say, "Yes, I received the Holy Ghost. Hallelujah." God wants to put a backbone, not a wishbone, in you, wants to make you somebody, give you a testimony.
As Buddy Robinson said, "Give me a testimony like a saw log. Put plenty of knowledge in the gable end of my soul; let me fight the devil as long as I got a tooth, then gum him till I die." That was his testimony, old Uncle Buddy, you know. And so he meant that too. So then, eighty-five years old, run sixty thousand miles a year in a little Chevrolet car, still preaching the Gospel. He wrote a book, sold a million copies. Didn't know the difference between a noun and a pronoun. Said, "I didn't know. I just wrote the thing...?..." But he was a great man of God.

E-94 Maintenant, remarquez cet aigle. Je me suis dit: «Pourquoi n’as-tu pas peur? Tu sais quoi? Il savait qu’il se retrouverait dans ces arbres avant que ma main puisse atteindre ce fusil.» Il avait confiance.
Si un aigle peut avoir confiance dans ses ailes comme un don de la part de Dieu, à combien plus forte raison devrions-nous avoir confiance que le don du Saint-Esprit de la part de Dieu peut nous emporter aujourd’hui. J’observais ses plumes alors qu’il les remuait. Je me suis dit: «Frère, je suis... Je–je t’aime trop pour t’abattre.» Voyez-vous? Je l’observais.
(95) Au bout d’un moment, j’ai remarqué que ma présence ne le dérangeait pas. Il observait ce vieux petit tamia qui faisait: «Tchat, tchat, tchat, tchat, tchat, tchat.» Au bout d’un moment, il en a eu assez de cela. Il a fait juste un grand bond, il a battu les ailes peut-être deux fois, et il était au-delà de ces arbres. Et alors, à ce moment-là j’ai compris ce que Dieu était en train de faire. Ce grand gaillard n’a plus battu des ailes. Il savait parfaitement disposer ses ailes, et chaque fois que le vent venait, il se laissait porter par celui-ci. Au bout d’un moment, il a continué à monter, monter, monter (sans bouger une seule plume), à monter, monter, monter, jusqu’à ce qu’il est devenu un tout petit point.
J’étais là debout, les mains levées vers le ciel, disant: «Oh! gloire à Dieu. C’est ça. Il n’est pas question de battre les ailes et de dire que je suis un pentecôtiste aujourd’hui. Battre les ailes et dire que je suis un baptiste demain. Battre les ailes et dire que j’irai aux réunions d’Oral Roberts. Battre les ailes et dire que j’irai aux réunions de frère Branham. Battre les ailes et dire que j’irai chez Tommy Hicks.» Non, il est question de savoir comment disposer vos ailes, vos ailes de la foi dans la puissance de Dieu. Chaque fois que les vagues de la gloire viennent, on se laisse porter par celles-ci. Il a laissé là ce vieux petit tamia lié à la terre, qui faisait: «Tchat, tchat, tchat: le temps des miracles est passé; la guérison divine n’existe pas; le Saint-Esprit n’existe pas.» Il en a eu assez d’entendre cela, il a donc tout simplement disposé ses ailes et s’en est allé. Oh! la la! disposez simplement vos... C’est ça, les amis, disposez simplement vos ailes dans la foi.
| E-94 Now, notice this eagle. I thought, "Why are you not scared? You know what? I could take my rifle and shoot you." 'Course he knowed I admired him too much to do that. He looked at me, and I thought, "Well, he's not scared of me, 'cause he knowed..." I watched him. He kept feeling them wings, you know, see if them feathers wasn't running...?... I thought, "Sure, that's the reason he's not afraid. He's got a God-given gift: wings. He's got confidence in that God-given gift. He knowed he could be in that timber before I could get my hand on that gun. He had confidence."
If an eagle can have confidence in his wings as a God-given gift, how much more ought we to have confidence in a God given gift of the Holy Spirit, could carry us today. Watched his feathers as he moved. I thought. "Brother, I am... I--I love you too much to shoot you. See?" I watched him.

E-95 (96) J’avais l’habitude de chasser dans la forêt du nord avec un gars, un demi-Indien. Il s’appelle Burt Caul. C’était l’un des meilleurs chasseurs avec lequel j’avais jamais chassé. Vous n’aviez point à vous inquiéter au sujet de Burt. Où qu’il se retrouve dans le bois, vous n’avez pas à vous inquiéter à son sujet. Il rentrait. Laissez-le tranquille.
Et nous aimions chasser ensemble. Mais c’était l’homme le plus méchant que j’aie jamais vu. Il avait des yeux comme un lézard. Et il avait l’habitude de se moquer de moi du fait que je suis un prédicateur. Et c’était un brave gars, mais seulement–seulement il avait... Il était vraiment méchant. Et il aimait abattre les faons juste pour m’indisposer.
Maintenant, souvenez-vous, c’est en ordre d’abattre un faon. C’est en ordre, mais pas juste pour se montrer méchant, juste pour le plaisir de l’abattre et ensuite le laisser là, et se moquer de cela. C’est mal. C’est un meurtre.
(97) Et il avait donc l’habitude de dire: «Oh! prédicateur, tu es comme les autres: un peureux. Tu serais un bon chasseur si tu n’étais pas peureux.»
Je disais: «Burt.»
Il disait: «Oh! je pensais que tu étais un chasseur.»
Je disais: «Je suis un chasseur, mais pas un assassin. Tu vois? Il y a une grande différence entre ces mots.»
Et il a dit: «Oh! ressaisis-toi, Billy. Ressaisis-toi. Eh bien, tu n’abattrais pas un faon?»
J’ai dit: «J’ai abattu plusieurs faons.» J’ai dit: «Dieu... Abraham a tué un veau et en a servi Dieu, et Dieu en a mangé. C’est juste. Il n’y a donc pas de mal à tuer un faon si la loi l’autorise, c’est en ordre, mais ne le faites pas juste pour vous montrer méchant, juste pour se faire voir.» Il faisait donc cela juste pour se faire voir.
| E-95 After while I noticed he wasn't bothered about me. He was watching that little old pine squirrel going, "Chatter, chatter, chatter, chatter, chatter, chatter." He had enough of it after while. He just made one big bounce, maybe flopped his wings about twice, and went plumb beyond that timber. And when he did, that's when I seen what God was doing. That big fellow never flopped anymore. He just knowed how to set his wings, and every time the wind would come in, he'd ride up on it. After a while he kept going up, up, up (not moving a feather), up, up, up, till he become just a little spot.
There I was, standing there with my hands up to heaven, saying, "Oh, glory to God. That's it. It's not flop, flop, I'm a Pentecostal today. Flop, flop, I'm a Baptist tomorrow. Flop, flop, I'll go to Oral Roberts' meeting. Flop, flop, I'll go to Brother Branham's meeting. Flop, flop, I'll go to Tommy Hicks." No, it's knowing how to set your wings, your wings of faith in the power of God. Every time the glory waves come in, ride up on it. He left that little old earth-bound chipmunk setting there, saying, "Chatter, chatter, chatter: days of miracles is past; no such thing as Divine healing; no such thing as the Holy Ghost." He got tired of listening at it, so he just set his wings and moved away. Oh, my, just set your... That's it, friends, just set your wings in faith.

E-96 (98) Ainsi, un jour j’étais là-bas, et il a dit: «Eh bien, Billy, tu viens un peu en retard cette fois-ci.» Et il portait un petit sifflet qu’il s’était fabriqué, et il a pris ce petit sifflet et il a soufflé dedans, et cela résonnait comme un petit bébé faon (c’est le petit bébé de la biche) appelant sa maman.
Et je me suis dit: «Burt, tu ne vas pas faire ça.»

J’ai dit: «Je suis...» J’ai dit: «Je suis...» Nous sommes allés et ces cerfs à queue blanche, oh! la la! vous parlez d’Houdini comme étant un maître en évasion; c’était un amateur. Vous devriez les voir après qu’on leur a tiré dessus une fois. Oh! ils peuvent disparaître comme... Vous voyez simplement là où il se trouvait. Et ainsi, alors ils–ils étaient très rapides. Et ils étaient... La saison de chasse était ouverte depuis deux semaines. Et, oh! nous avons marché toute la matinée sans voir même une seule trace. D’habitude, vers midi nous nous asseyons et prenons notre déjeuner.
(99) C’était donc vers midi. Nous sommes arrivés dans une petite clairière, elle avait à peu près trois ou quatre fois la dimension de cette église-ci, comme cela. Et alors Burt s’est assis. Et nous n’avions pas vu une seule trace ni rien. Et d’habitude nous nous séparions vers midi, et lui allait d’un côté et moi de l’autre; et nous nous retrouvions à un moment donné ce soir-là dans le camp que nous avions dressé, où se trouvaient nos chevaux et tout le reste.
Ainsi quand Burt s’est donc assis, il s’est mis à chercher comme ceci dans son veston au niveau de la poitrine. Je pensais qu’il voulait prendre sa–sa–sa bouteille thermos, vous savez, pour prendre son chocolat. Quand donc il s’est mis à faire sortir quelque chose, c’était ce petit sifflet. Et j’ai dit: «Burt, tu ne vas pas faire résonner ça?»
Il a dit: «Oh! prédicateur, ressaisis-toi.» Il m’a regardé avec ses yeux de lézard, vous savez. Il a pris ce petit sifflet et il a soufflé dedans. Cela résonnait comme le cri d’un petit faon.
Eh bien, à ma surprise, juste en face de cet endroit, une grosse mère biche (c’est la femelle du cerf) s’est dressée. Elle était cachée (Voyez-vous?) sous les broussailles. Elle s’est dressée. C’est–c’est inhabituel. Pas... Dans cette contrée-ci, cela pourrait ne pas l’être, mais dans cette contrée-là, si. C’est très inhabituel qu’une biche se lève, ou un cerf, à ce moment-là de la journée, vers onze heures.
| E-96 In the north woods I used to hunt with a boy, about half Indian. His name is Burt Caul. He was one of the finest hunters I ever hunt with. You never had to worry about Burt. Anywhere in the woods, you didn't have to worry about him. He'd come in. Let him alone.
And we used to love to hunt together. But he was the meanest man I ever seen. He had eyes like a lizard. And he used to laugh at me being a preacher. And he was a fine fellow, but he just--he's just had... He was just mean. And he used to love to shoot fawns just to make me feel bad.
Now, remember, it's all right to shoot a fawn. That's all right, but not just to be mean, just to shoot it, and let it lay there, and laugh about it. That's wrong. That's murder.

E-97 (100) Elle s’est levée. Elle a regardé tout autour. Que se passait-il? Elle était une mère, un bébé avait des ennuis. Elle a regardé tout autour. Je peux simplement voir ces énormes oreilles et ces yeux bruns cherchant tout autour.
Et le vieux Burt m’a regardé avec ces yeux de lézard. J’ai dit: «Burt, tu ne vas pas faire ça.» Alors il a encore soufflé dedans, et cette mère biche a quitté directement les buissons pour sortir jusque dans la clairière. Eh bien, elle ne faisait pas de simulacre. Elle était une mère. C’est quelque chose d’inné en elle, en tant qu’une mère. Son bébé était en difficulté. Elle le cherchait. Elle a regardé tout autour, et elle est sortie dans la clairière. J’ai vu Burt... Nous ne gardons jamais des cartouches dans la chambre quand nous chassons ensemble comme cela. Il avait donc une carabine de calibre 30-06. Il a donc tiré cela très doucement et il a mis cette cartouche là, une cartouche de cent quatre-vingts grains [11,6 g] qui lors de l’impact prend la forme d’un champignon. Et c’était un fin tireur. Oh! la la! je l’ai vu se lever comme ceci et placer ce réticule sur le coeur loyal de cette mère.
Je me suis dit: «Oh! la la! comment peux-tu faire cela, Burt? Comment peux-tu faire cela? Comment peux-tu être si cruel? Dans un instant cette pauvre biche, ce coeur loyal qui est dans cette mère, elle n’aura plus de coeur. Tu vas le faire sauter en elle. (Voyez-vous?) Comment peux-tu faire cela? Alors qu’elle est à la recherche de son petit, tu la trompes comme cela?»
(101) Elle s’est avancée. Et lorsque la culasse de cette carabine modèle 70 est descendue, lorsqu’elle est descendue comme cela, la biche a sursauté, et elle a regardé tout autour, et elle a vu le chasseur. S’est-elle enfuie? Pas du tout. Elle savait qu’elle faisait face à la mort, mais son bébé était en difficulté. Elle a continué à avancer doucement, cherchant ce bébé, avec ces grandes oreilles dressées, regardant, son nez en l’air. Elle a vu le chasseur, elle savait que c’était la mort juste dans un instant, mais cela lui était égal. Son bébé était en difficulté. Elle ne faisait pas de simulacre, comme bon nombre de membres d’église le font. Il y avait quelque chose de réel. Elle était née une mère. Elle cherchait des yeux tout autour.
J’ai dit: «Je ne peux pas regarder cela.» J’ai tourné le dos. Je me suis dit: «Ô Dieu, ne le laisse pas faire cela. Ne le laisse pas faire cela, Seigneur. Il y a des cerfs dans ce bois. Ne le laisse pas tuer cette pauvre et précieuse mère. Ne le laisse pas faire cela. Elle a un faon quelque part, sinon elle n’agirait pas comme cela. Elle pense qu’il s’est perdu, il crie pour appeler sa maman. Ne le laisse pas faire cela, Seigneur.» J’ai attendu une minute, m’attendant à tout instant à entendre le coup de feu partir. Et je savais que si le coup partait, cette biche serait certainement morte. Et elle ne se tenait pas à trente yards de lui, juste dans la clairière.
| E-97 And so he used to say, "Aw, preacher, you're like the rest of them: chicken-hearted. You'd be a good hunter if it wasn't you was so chicken-hearted."
I said, "Burt."
He said, "Oh, I thought you was a hunter."
I said, "I am a hunter, but not a killer. See? There's a lot of difference in that word."
He said, "Aw, get next to yourself, Billy. Get next to yourself. Now, you wouldn't shoot a fawn?"
I said, "I've shot a many fawn." I said, "God... Abraham killed a calf and fed it to God, and He eat it. That's right. So there's no harm killing a fawn if the law says you can have it, its all right, but don't do it just to be mean, just to show-off. So he did that just to show-off

E-98 (102) J’ai simplement continué à attendre, mais le coup ne partait pas. J’ai attendu, j’ai attendu, le coup ne partait toujours pas. Je me suis dit: «Que se passe-t-il?» Et je me suis retourné. Ces nerfs d’acier de ce demi-Indien... il allait comme ceci, tremblant comme cela; et il s’est retourné, et les larmes lui coulaient sur les joues. Il a jeté le fusil par terre. Il m’a saisi aux jambes, alors qu’on se tenait là sur cet amoncellement de neige. Il a dit... [Espace non enregistré sur la bande–N.D.E.]
Pendant que vous avez les yeux fermés et que vous êtes en prière, combien ici aimeraient être autant chrétiens que cette biche était mère? Ceux qui voudraient avoir l’amour de Christ dans leur coeur au point que vous pourriez manifester Christ? Pas un simulacre, mais une vraie–une naissance qui fait de vous un chrétien, comme la naissance avait fait de cette biche une mère. Si vous voulez ce genre d’expérience, voulez-vous lever la main? Que Dieu vous bénisse. Que Dieu vous bénisse, partout, certainement.
(103) Notre Père céleste, cette petite histoire simple... et pourtant les gens savent qu’ils ont besoin de Toi, Seigneur. Il leur faut être chrétien. Ils veulent l’être. Nous voulons tous avoir quelque chose de réel, sur base de quoi nous pouvons dire au monde que Tu es Christ, le Fils de Dieu. Accorde-le, Seigneur, ce soir. Que cette expérience vienne à chacun de nous. Dans cette petite salle d’environ cent cinquante personnes, plus de la moitié d’entre eux ont levé la main pour dire qu’ils voulaient ce genre d’expérience. Seigneur, cela montre qu’il leur manque cette sorte d’expérience. Que Christ ce soir, dans Sa sainteté loyale, montre à cette assistance qu’Il les aime, et qu’Il peut leur donner cette expérience d’une véritable naissance chrétienne, pas un simulacre, mais une véritable expérience. Accorde-le, Père. Je demande cela au Nom de Jésus, le Fils de Dieu.
| E-98 So one day I was up there, and he said, "Well, Billy, you're a little late coming up this time." And he had a little whistle he'd made, and he took that little whistle, and he'd blow it, and it sounded like a little baby fawn (that's a little baby deer) calling for its mammy.
And I thought, "Burt, you wouldn't do that."
He said, "Aw, go on, Billy."
So we always took a thermos jug full of hot chocolate, 'cause it warms you up, if you happen to get turned around or something. (I'm sorry to be late, but I'll close right now.) Said, "I'm..." Said, "I'm..." We started out, and those while tail deer, oh, my, you talk about Hundini a being an escape artist; he was an amateur. You ought to see them after they're shot at once. Oh, they can get away like... You just see where they were. And so, then, they--they were so fast. And they'd been... Hunting season had been in two weeks. and, why, we walked all morning, didn't even see a track. Along about noontime we usually set down, eat our lunch.

E-99 Pendant que nos têtes sont encore inclinées, y a-t-il quelqu’un ici ou combien plutôt voudraient accepter Jésus comme leur Sauveur, et dire: «Frère Branham, comme la reine du Midi, je–j’ai besoin–je–j’ai besoin de Christ. Comme la mère biche, je–je désire être un véritable chrétien. Je ne suis pas encore devenu chrétien. Je n’ai jamais eu... Je ne L’ai jamais accepté comme mon Sauveur. Mais ce soir je désire le faire.» Voudriez-vous simplement vous lever une minute, dire: «Je veux qu’on se souvienne de moi dans la prière.»
Jésus a dit: «Celui qui Me confessera devant les hommes, Je le confesserai devant Mon Père et les saints Anges.»
Voudriez-vous juste vous lever en ce moment et dire: «Je n’ai jamais pris position pour Lui auparavant»? Que Dieu vous bénisse. Que Dieu vous bénisse. C’est bien. Que certains d’entre vous se lèvent maintenant. Que Dieu vous bénisse. Quelqu’un d’autre? Tenez-vous debout. Que Dieu vous bénisse?...
| E-99 So it was about noon. We come into a little clearing, about three or four times the size of this church here, like that. And so Burt set down. And we hadn't seen a track or nothing. And we'd usually separate along about noon, and he goes one way and I go another, and get back in some time that night to our spike camp, where our horses and things were.
So then when Burt sat down, he went to reaching back like this in his bosom. I thought he was going to get his--his--his thermos, you know, to get his chocolate. So when he started to pull something out, and it was that little whistle. And I said, "Burt, you wouldn't blow that."
He said. "Aw, preacher, get next to yourself," looked up to me with them lizard eyes, you know. He took this little whistle, and he blowed it. It sounded like a little fawn crying.
Well, to my surprise, right across that place a big mother doe (that's the mother deer) stood up. She was hid (You see?) under the brush. She stood up. That's--that's irregular. Not... In this country it might not be, but that country it is. Very irregular for a doe to raise up, or any deer, that time of day, about eleven o'clock.
