We come through Phoenix the other day when it was around about a hundred and eleven. When we got up here, why, I was about ready to hunt my overcoat up. Is that... This is the climate the year 'round, about like this? Somebody said it was this way practically all the time. Haven't got a empty house around here, have you, that you'd like to rent out for a while? E-2 Quelqu’un me parlait au restaurant aujourd’hui, il a dit: «Eh bien, notre période la plus chaude de l’année c’est autour du mois de décembre.» Il a dit qu’ils faisaient du barbecue là dans la cour arrière pour la Noël. C’est une bonne chose que Dieu ait disposé cette terre de manière à ce que nous puissions tous être heureux, si seulement nous essayons de l’être: vivre heureux, et–et de Lui être reconnaissants pour ce que nous avons. Je suis tout à fait certain que l’une des plus grandes fautes que nous commettons est que nous ne sommes pas assez reconnaissants pour ce que nous avons. Il a été tellement bon envers nous en nous donnant tant de bonnes choses, et–et nous–nous ne semblons pas apprécier cela comme nous le devrions.
| E-2 Someone was telling me in the restaurant today, said, "Why, our hottest time of the year is around December." Said they was barbecuing something out in the backyard for Christmas. Now, if you was from my country and you'd barbecued in the backyard, you would have an overcoat on, and earmuffs, and set down on a chunk of ice somewhere to--to barbecue.
It's fine that God has so fixed this earth that we can all be happy, if we would just try to be that way: live happily, and--and be thankful to Him for what we have. I'm quite sure that one of the great faults with us, that we're not grateful enough for what we have. He has been so good to us to give us so many good things, and--and we--we just don't seem to appreciate it as much as we should.

E-3 J’ai eu l’occasion de voyager un peu à travers le monde plusieurs fois et–et de voir les autres nations et les autres peuples, comment ils–comment ils vivent et tout. Il y a un vieil adage qui dit: «C’est glorieux d’être un Américain.» Eh bien, ça c’est un peu plus qu’un adage. C’est une vérité. C’est un fait réel; ça l’est, car... alors que nous pouvons avoir beaucoup à manger, et–et nous sommes en paix, et nos petits problèmes sont insignifiants. Et nous vivons presque dans un millénium. Si cela... nous éliminions simplement le péché, je crois que ce serait alors un millénium. Mais nous sommes néanmoins heureux d’avoir cette nation. Nous ne savons pas pendant combien de temps nous serons en mesure de la garder ainsi; mais nous croyons que ce sera jusqu’à la Venue du Seigneur Jésus. Ceci est, à ce que nous croyons, le dernier et le plus grand bastion de la civilisation. Et de voir les autres nations, comment elles sont montées et sont tombées, et nous voyons la nôtre suivre la même voie, alors cela nous–nous attriste. Mais cependant nous savons que ça montre seulement que nous avons une cité, une nation [Espace vide sur la bande–N.D.E.] qui ne périra jamais.
| E-3 I've had the opportunity to travel quite a bit around the world several times, and--and seeing the other nations and the people and how they--how they have to live and everything. There's an old saying, "It's great to be an American." Well, that's just a little more than a saying. That's a truth. That's really a fact; it is, to--when we can get plenty to eat, and--and at peace, and our little troubles are minor. And we're almost living in a millennium. If it--we'd just get sin out of the way I believe it would be a millennium then.
But we are happy, though, to have this nation. We don't know how much longer we'll be able to have it this a way, but we trust that it'll be until the Lord Jesus comes. This is our last great hold of civilization, that we believe. And see other nations, how they've raised and fell, and we see ours going the same route, so we--we're sad about that. But yet, we know that that only speaks that we have a city, and a nation, [Blank.spot.on.tape--Ed.] that will never perish.

E-4 Tout récemment je suis allé à un arbre où j’avais l’habitude d’aller lorsque j’étais petit garçon et c’était un bel et grand arbre. Ce–c’est ce que l’on appelle là-bas à l’est, dans les Etats du centre est, un hêtre. Ce sont des arbres qui vivent très longtemps, et ce sont de très beaux arbres lorsqu’ils sont à l’écart, où ils ne sont pas étouffés par les autres arbres, et qu’ils ont bien poussé. Et je pensai: «Cet arbre restera là pendant plusieurs générations.» Mais, vous savez, maintenant ce n’est qu’une souche, et je me souviens que j’étais... lorsque j’avais 7 ou 8 ans. Il y avait une source au pied de cet arbre. J’allais souvent boire à cette source. Même la source a tari. L’arbre a disparu.
| E-4 Not long ago I went to a tree where I used to go when I was a little boy, and it was such a beautiful big tree. It--it was what we call in the east there, middle east, a beech tree. And they're a long life tree, and very pretty when they stand out, where they're not smothered in with other trees and shaped up. And I thought, "That tree will be standing for several generations." But you know, it's just a snag now, and I remember being [Blank.spot.on.tape--Ed.] when I was seven or eight years old. There used to be a spring below it. I used to go to drink out of that spring. The spring's even dried up. The tree's gone.

E-5 Je me souviens de la vielle maison où nous vivions. C’était une maison en rondins. Nous avions un petit... Maman avait un morceau de miroir, un miroir qu’elle avait attaché au moyen de clous à un arbre là dehors, là où nous avions une petite tablette pour nous laver. Et nous revenions des champs et nous nous lavions, et nous avions un vieux sac de farine que maman avait arrangé comme serviette. Je ne sais pas si vous aussi aviez dû vivre comme cela ou pas. Mais, nous les Kentuckiens, nous avons connu des moments très difficiles. Je me souviens donc qu’elle en tirait les fils au bas et elle faisait comme de petites franges qui pendaient. Et cette serviette rugueuse... Et lorsque nous les enfants, nous prenions bain avec cela (fiou), et qu’on devait nous frotter avec, cela nous arrachait presque la peau.
| E-5 I remember the old house we used to live in. It was a log house. We had a little... Mama had a piece of looking glass, a mirror that she'd tacked up on a tree out there where we had a little wash bench. And we'd come in out of the field and wash, and had an old meal sack that mama had fixed for a towel. I don't know whether you people ever had to live like that or not. But we Kentuckians had a pretty hard time.
So and I remember she used to pull the strings out of the bottom of it and make little fringes like to hang down. And that rough towel... And when us kids would get a bath with that (whew!) and have to be rubbed, it'd just take the hide off almost.

E-6 Et je voyais mon père, qui était un homme de petite taille, cependant fort; il était un bûcheron. Et il rentrait, retroussait ses manches lorsqu’il allait se laver. En ce temps-là, je pense, il était dans la vingtaine, entre 25 et 30 ans, et il avait des muscles très gros et vigoureux. J’ai entendu un homme me dire... C’était l’an passé. Un homme qui travaillait pour nous a dit qu’il l’avait vu charger tout seul un rondin de frêne de 900 livres [408 kg]. Et en considérant les bras de cet homme, je me disais: «Eh bien, il vivra jusqu’à 150 ans.» Mais, vous savez, il est mort à 52 ans. Cela montre tout simplement que nous n’avons pas de cité permanente ici, mais nous cherchons une cité à venir. C’est juste. Nous cherchons une cité qui durera éternellement.
| E-6 And I used to see my father, a small man, yet strong, he was a logger. And he'd come in, roll up his sleeves when he'd go to wash. He was then, I guess, in his twenties, twenty-five, thirty years old, and had great huge muscles, and strong.
I heard a man tell me... It was last year. A man he used to work for us said he'd seen him load a nine hundred pound ash log by himself. And I thought, the arm of that man, I said, "My, he will live a hundred and fifty years." But you know, he died at fifty-two.
It just shows that here we have no continuing city, but we are seeking one to come. That's right. We're seeking one which will last forever.

E-7 Et maintenant, mes amis chrétiens, ceci étant la première fois pour moi d’être parmi vous ici dans–dans votre ville... Et je considère comme un grand privilège que votre pasteur m’ait invité à venir. Et je suis ici pour faire tout ce que je peux pour le Royaume de Dieu. Et je ne suis pas fameux comme prédicateur, je suis un... Mais j’aime le Seigneur. Si un bon prédicateur L’aime plus que moi, avec mon ignorance, je–je me demande tout simplement comment il s’en tire avec cela, comment il peut supporter cela; parce que des fois je deviens, je sens tellement–tellement de l’amour pour Lui dans mon coeur que j’ai vraiment de la peine à me tenir tranquille. Et ceci, ce n’est pas quelque chose qui est venu quand j’ai commencé à vieillir. J’ai commencé lorsque j’étais juste un jeune homme. Juste un jeune garçon, j’ai donné ma vie au Seigneur Jésus et je L’ai servi depuis lors. Et cela... chaque jour, comme je sais que je m’approche du rivage de l’autre côté, cela devient plus doux chaque jour. Je L’aime tout simplement au fur et à mesure que les années passent.
| E-7 And now, Christian friends, this being my first time among you here in--in your city... And I deem it a great privilege that your pastors has invited me to come. And I'm here to do all that I can for the Kingdom of God. And I'm not much of a preacher, I'm a... B ut I love the Lord. If a good preacher loves Him any better than I do with my ignorance, I--I just wonder how they get by with it, just be able to stand it; because sometimes I get, just get so--so much love in my heart for Him, I just can't hardly stand still.
And this just isn't something since I begin to get old. I started this when I was just a boy. Just a little boy, I gave my life to the Lord Jesus and served Him ever since. And it--each day, as I know I'm nearing the shores on the other side, it gets sweeter each day. I just love Him as the years go by.

So our brethren here has been seining on their corner and down on the next corner seining. And now, I come to put my seine with theirs so we can reach way around, all the way around (You see?), and pull for everything that we can. And that's what we're here for, to pull together to see... We just can't afford to--but what, after knowing what we know about Christ, is to put every effort we can. We don't want nobody to miss that glorious place that He's gone to prepare. (Pardon me.) E-10 On a dit qu’aucun des frères n’a été ici, je ne pense pas, parmi les grands évangélistes comme Billy Graham, frère Oral Roberts, et ces grands évangélistes. Et j’aimerais... Peut-être que certains d’entre vous les ont déjà entendus prêcher. Et je–je pense que ceci est une petite ville; or, cela réclame d’importants moyens financiers pour organiser une grande réunion comme celle-là. Et je pense que frère Roberts dépense plus de dix ou douze mille dollars par jour pour financer sa télévision, sa radio et ainsi de suite. Et je pense que Billy Graham dépense autant ou peut-être plus. Alors comment ces hommes pourraient-ils venir dans une petite ville comme celle-ci? Ils–ils ne le pourraient pas. Voyez?Mais lorsque le Seigneur m’a appelé, Il... Vous savez, je–je ne me suis jamais lancé dans une affaire de radio ou de télévision, ou quelque chose de ce genre, vous savez, afin que je sois libre d’aller partout où le Seigneur m’appelle, parce que je n’ai pas besoin d’argent. Alors je–je n’ai tout simplement aucun programme à parrainer ni rien du tout, je vais simplement et je communie avec les gens et partout où le Seigneur me dit d’aller. Et j’ai eu de grands privilèges.
| E-10 They say that there hasn't been any of the brethren, I don't think, here, of the big evangelists, like Brother Billy Graham, Oral Roberts, and those great evangelists. And I wish... Probably some of you have heard them. And I--I suppose, being a small city, and there has to be quite a bit of finance connected with a big meeting like that. And I guess Brother Roberts' finances each day runs better than ten, twelve thousand dollars a day for his television, radio, and so forth. And I guess Billy Graham's runs that or maybe more. Now, how could those men come to a little small place like this? They--they couldn't do it. See?
But when the Lord called me, He... You know, I--I never did start in any radio, or--or television, or anything so I'd be, you know, bound down, so that I could go anywhere the Lord called me, 'cause I don't need no money. So I just--I just don't have no programs to sponsor or nothing at all, and just to go and fellowship with the people, and wherever the Lord would call me to go. And I've had grand privileges.

E-11 Tout récemment j’ai prêché au cours d’un réveil de deux jours dans une église de vingt personnes. Et j’étais à Bombay, en Inde, où nous avons eu cinq cent mille personnes à une seule réunion. Et à Durban, en Afrique du Sud, il y avait environ deux cent vingt-cinq mille personnes, où j’ai vu trente mille purs païens accepter Christ comme leur Sauveur à un seul appel à l’autel. Et je les ai vus charger sept grands camions (et ces camions d’ici, oh! la la! auraient l’air d’une jeep à côté de ces grands camions qu’ils ont là-bas en Afrique) avec des fauteuils roulants, des béquilles, et des objets que chacun des autochtones avait apportés, des–des jungles.
| E-11 I preached just recently a two-night's revival in a church that held twenty. And I was in Bombay, India, where we had five hundred thousand at one meeting; and Durban, South Africa, about two-hundred and twenty-five thousand, where I seen thirty thousand raw heathens accept Christ as Saviour in one altar call.
And I seen them taking about seven big van loads (and them vans, my, that would be a Jeep up beside of them big African vans there) of just wheelchairs, crutches, and things the natives had packed, each other, down out of the--the jungles.

E-12 Et le lendemain matin, lorsque Sidney Smith, le maire de Durban, en Afrique du Sud, m’a appelé au téléphone, et il a dit: «Allez à la fenêtre, regardez par la fenêtre qui donne sur le rivage.» Et voici venir une file de gens avec... alors que vingt-cinq mille miracles avaient été accomplis à la suite d’une seule prière. Et ils étaient là avec leurs béquilles et leurs fauteuils roulants. Et ces autochtones qui étaient en guerre les uns contre les autres une semaine plus tôt descendaient... ils se servaient de ces béquilles, ces appareils orthopédiques, et ainsi de suite, et le lendemain, ils marchaient en paix, bras dessus bras dessous, chantant: Tout est possible crois seulement, dans leurs langues maternelles. C’est ce que le monde entier devrait faire ce soir ...? ... nous tous d’un seul coeur et d’un commun accord, chantant simplement le glorieux Evangile du Seigneur Jésus.
| E-12 And the next morning when Sidney Smith, the mayor of Durban, South Africa, called me and said, "Go to the window and watch, out towards the seashore." And here come a string of people with--where twenty-five thousand miracles had been performed at one prayer. And there they was with their crutches and wheelchairs. And the natives which was at war at one another a week beforehand was walking down--had been laying on those crutches, and braces, and so forth, the next day walking down with peace, arms around one another, singing "All things are possible, only believe," in the native tongue.
That's what the whole world ought to be doing tonight...?... all of us with one heart and one accord, just singing the glorious Gospel of the Lord Jesus.

E-13 Et maintenant, le message que je vais apporter, je vais essayer de le rendre aussi simple que possible, car étant donné que c’est la première fois que vous... Il se peut qu’il y ait des gens qui ont déjà assisté aux réunions. Et cela pourrait vous sembler un peu étrange à première vue. Il peut faire tout ce qu’Il veut. Voyez? Mais aussi longtemps que je Le vois simplement faire ce qu’Il a promis de faire, pour moi ça suffit. C’est en ordre. Alors je suis donc certain que je suis sur la bonne voie, aussi longtemps que cela se trouve dans les Ecritures, Dieu a promis de le faire. Et la manière dont Il l’a fait, et la manière dont Il le fait, et je crois... Voici ce que je crois: Si jamais Il a été Dieu, Il est toujours Dieu. Voyez? Et s’Il n’est pas le même Dieu qu’Il était, alors Il n’était pas Dieu. Voyez? Parce qu’Il est–s’Il est Dieu, Il doit être infini, infini. Et alors, s’Il est infini, Il est parfait.
| E-13 And now, in the Message that I have, I will try to make it just as simple as possible, because being the first time that you... Maybe people has been in the meetings. And it may seem a little strange to you at first. And if it does, I just ask you if you'll bear with me a little (See?), and always search out what I say. If it isn't exactly with the Scripture, don't believe it (See?), 'cause...
Now, God can do things that's not written in the Bible. He's God. He can do anything He wants to. See? But as long as I see Him doing just what He's promised to do, that'll be fair enough for me. That's all right. Then I know I'm on the right path, then, as long as it's in the Scripture, God promised to do it. And the way He did it, and the way He does it, and I believe... Here's what I believe: that if He ever was God, He's still God. See? And if He isn't the same God that He was, then He wasn't God. See? Because He's--if He's God, He's got to be infinite, infinite. And then, if He's infinite, He's perfect.

E-14 Et si jamais Dieu fait une chose (voyez?), s’Il... Souvenez-vous donc tout simplement, si jamais Dieu fait quelque chose, la manière dont Il le fait, Il ne peut jamais la changer. Parce que, vous voyez, Il est parfait. Or, moi je peux faire une chose, et vous pouvez faire une chose, et l’année suivante nous–nous aurons une idée un peu meilleure (voyez?), parce que nous aurons appris un peu plus. Et peut-être dans dix ans, nous serons de loin plus intelligents que nous l’étions. Mais pas Dieu, Lui est infini. Voyez? Il est parfait dès le départ. Et–et si jamais Dieu était appelé à prendre une décision... Et la décision qu’Il prendra devra rester pour toujours la même. Il ne peut en prendre une comme ceci une fois, et comme cela une autre fois, prendre celle-ci et refuser celle-là. La manière dont Il agit la première fois, s’Il n’agit pas de cette manière-là chaque fois, Il avait mal agit la première fois (voyez?), parce qu’Il est Dieu. Il ne peut jamais changer Sa manière de faire, parce qu’Il est Dieu. Et ainsi, il est infini, omniprésent, omnipotent, et pour être Dieu, Il doit être tout cela. Nous croyons donc cela.
| E-14 And if God ever does anything (See?), if He... Just remember now, if God ever does anything, and the way He does it He can never change that way. Because, you see, He's perfect. Now, I can do something, and you can do something, and next year we--we got a little better idea (See?), because we learned a little more. And maybe in ten years we're way smarter than we were. But not God, He's infinite. See? He's perfect to begin with.
And--and if God's ever called to make a decision... And the decision that He makes has to forever remain that way. He can't do it this way one time, and this way another, take this one and refuse that one. The way He acts the first time, if He doesn't act that way every time, He acted wrong the first time (See?), because He's God. He can never change His way, 'cause He's God. And then, He's infinite, omnipresent, omnipotent, and in order to be God He has to be all those things. So we believe that.

E-15 Et maintenant–et je vais essayer d’expliquer les Ecritures, et de les lire, et tout le reste, pour rendre cela aussi simple que possible. Et alors... Maintenant, suivez cela attentivement dans les Ecritures. Et je vous demanderai donc de me soutenir dans la prière, parce que... Et ne serait-ce pas merveilleux si un glorieux réveil se déclenchait juste ici dans cette petite ville de Santa Maria et que toutes les églises étaient... Et les gens pourraient accourir ici en traversant ces montagnes et en descendant les collines, venant ici pour voir la gloire de Dieu, et toutes les églises seraient simplement en feu pour Dieu, et–et toutes les petites différences seraient écartées, et tout le monde serait d’un seul coeur et d’un commun accord. Eh bien, ce serait merveilleux. Et de penser simplement que cette petite ville de Santa Maria, qui se trouve sur la rive du lac, serait la ville qui aurait eu ce réveil.
Eh bien, ce n’est pas seulement probable, mais c’est possible que cela arrive: cela dépend de l’attitude que nous prenons. Or, Dieu envoie toujours Ses dons et tout le reste dans chaque génération, dans les églises; et quelle que soit l’attitude que les gens adoptent, c’est le résultat de ce qu’ils obtiennent. Nous savons cela. Vous... Dieu n’entre pas de Lui-même dans la vie de qui que ce soit. Vous devez Le désirer.
| E-15 And now--and I'll try explaining the Scriptures, and reading, and everything, making it just as simple as I know how to--to make it. And then... Now, and follow it close in the Scriptures. And wouldn't it be wonderful if there would be right in this little city of Santa Maria a great revival break out and all the churches would be... And people would be flowing in across these mountains, and down across the hills, coming in to see the glory of God all the churches just on fire for God, and--and the little differences pushed away, and everybody one heart and one accord. Why, it would be wonderful. And just think, little Santa Maria up around the lake coast, would be the one that would--had this revival.
Now, it's not only probable, but it's possible that it could happen: depends on the attitude that we take. Now, God always sends His gifts and things into the generations, into the churches; and whatever attitude the people take, that's the results of what they get. We know that. You... God doesn't push Hisself on anyone. You have to want Him.

| E-16 Now, nobody can explain God. You have to accept God by faith, because if it isn't faith, then it isn't God. If I could explain God, then I would be equal with Him. And now, we cannot do that. We don't attempt to. But the little things that He's give us, we just take His promise, and believe It, and watch it work out just exactly the way He said It would do It. And if we'll do that, I'm sure we'll see the glory of God.

Et ne–ne venez pas comme si vous vous précipitez simplement–simplement comme ceci, et que vous vous précipiterez à repartir. Vous manquerez la chose de cent kilomètres. Vous voyez? Voyez?
| E-17 Now, I don't want to keep you late at night. Just... I know you're working men, and--and I've worked all my life, so I--I know what it is to have to go home, and get up early in the morning after setting in a meeting. And I have had some awful long ones, so... But we'll try to get through each night, say...
Now, it's twenty minutes until nine by this time, and I suppose maybe your service is usually out around nine-thirty. And that'll give you time to go home and--and get your rest, and get back tomorrow night. Get on the phone, and call somebody, and get the sick and afflicted in. And don't--don't come in like you would just--just rush in like this, and rush back out. You miss it a hundred miles. You see? See?

| E-18 If you had to go to Mayo Brothers, you know, for an examination to find out what was wrong with you, the first thing, you'd have to call and get an appointment. And that'd probably take you two or three months before you get an appointment. And then you'll go there and stay in the hospital, maybe for a week or ten days in the hospital. And they don't do a thing for you but examine you.
And then, when you're through all that, after months under sweat, and trial, and medicines, and (oh, my) everything, then they only tell you what's wrong with you. See? That's right. And yet, the people clamor from everywhere to find out what's wrong with them, when if you'll just believe God with all your heart it will be over in a minute (See?), if you just... See? That's right. And it... You have to believe it though. And now remember, only by faith we believe it and watch it act.

E-19 Et puis, chaque soir les Ecritures que j’utilise... Parfois je note plusieurs passages des Ecritures ici pour m’y référer. Et si je me réfère à ces passages des Ecritures et puis ce que vous voyez se produire ne vous semble pas naturel, rentrez chez vous et examinez cela avec la Bible. A ce moment-là, si cela n’est pas ce que Dieu a promis, vous devez revenir et m’en parler. Et posez cela ici sur mon pupitre et dites: «Frère Branham, ça ce n’est pas juste. Ce n’est pas conforme aux Ecritures.» Voyez-vous? Et si c’est scripturaire, alors–alors vous vous devez de croire Cela, n’est-ce pas, car il–car il s’agit de Dieu.

And if I refer to these Scriptures, and what you see taking place, if it doesn't seem natural to you, go home and check it with the Bible. Then you owe it to me, if it isn't God's promise to come back and tell me about it. And lay it up here on my desk and say, "Brother Branham, that's not right. That's not Scripture." See? And if it is Scripture, then--then you owe it to yourself to believe It, don't you, for it's--for it's God.

Day by day we grow older and older, and don't know what minute (whether we're young or old) that our life can be snapped like that. Then we've got to meet God, and there... This is our preparation time. So let us prepare now to meet the Lord when He comes.

Nous nous souvenons de premiers jours, lorsque les apôtres se rassemblaient, alors qu’ils étaient en petit nombre, mais combien le Saint-Esprit venait parmi eux et accomplissait des oeuvres très remarquables, parce que l’Eglise était rassemblée. Ça c’était l’Eglise catholique apostolique primitive, tout au début de la Pentecôte.
| E-22 Our heavenly Father, we are now approaching the throne of Thy grace. Now, we would not come by the throne of justice, because if we'd get justice we'd all die. We could not come by the throne of judgment, but we have been bidden to come by the throne of grace, with the promise that our Lord told us, "If you ask the Father anything in My Name, I will--it'll be granted." Now, we know that that's true. It has to be true; It's the Word. And we believe this Bible to be Your infallible Word. Every Word of It is of God. And we hold onto it and cherish It with all our hearts.
Thou knowest how we appreciate this time of fellowship here in this lovely little city, and these fine brothers and sisters. We're reminded of the early days when the apostles met together when their numbers were small, but how the Holy Ghost came among them and did great outstanding things, because the church were assembled together. That was the early apostolic catholic church, way back from the beginning at Pentecost.

| E-23 We pray, heavenly Father, that, as this apostolic catholic church has gathered together that You will return tonight in the form of the Holy Spirit. Two thousand years since Your crucifixion for our redemption, the appropriation of our--for our iniquity, providing a water of separation by the washing of the water by the Word. And now, to make Your Word alive, quicken It and bring It to pass. It takes a living resurrected God to do that.
And now, heavenly Father, we would ask tonight that Your Presence would be so great among us, that when we leave this building tonight, this little gathering, even on the first night, may we say like those who came from Emmaus that time after the resurrection that morning... You'd walked with them all day long, talked with them, yet they did not recognize You. And, Father, I'm sure some of us, and many of us, and practically all of us here have walked with You, and You've walked with us; and yet we were not conscious of It.

| E-24 But when the evening time come, when the toils of the days had finished, You gathered them in together, and the doors was closed, and then You were shut in with them. Then You did something just like You did it before the crucifixion, and they recognized by the way You done it, that that was You. And they... Then You vanished out of their sight, and they hurried home over to their other comrades and said, "Truly, the Lord has risen."
Won't You tonight, Father, as we have assembled together and closed the doors around us, won't You appear in our midst and do something tonight like You did when You walked in Galilee, and Capernaum, and different parts of the world, that this little audience, and all of us together, might see the proof of the resurrection; The great Messiah of God lives after two thousand years through critics and dark places; but yet they cannot kill Him any more. He lives forevermore. Grant it, Father.
And may we, as we go home tonight say, along the road as we go, "Did not our hearts burn within us as He spoke to us along the way?" for we ask it in Jesus' Name, and for His sake. Amen.

Now, this is quite a text. And for a little background, we might say that these Greeks had the same curiosity that I have tonight, and I believe we all had.

| E-26 There's no one that ever heard about Jesus but what longs to see Him. If I would say to this little audience tonight, "How many of you would love to see Jesus?" I suppose every hand in here would go up. That's right. Let's just test it. How many would like to see Him? Let's see. See there? Sure. You've heard of Him. "Faith cometh by hearing, hearing the Word of God."
Now, we'd all love to see Him, sure. I'd love to see Him. Well, now, if He... That would place us in the same position that those Greeks were. They came to Jesus and said--came to the disciples and said, "Sir, sir, we would see Jesus. We..." That's their desire. "We would see Jesus." And Philip took them over and--and brought them to Jesus, he and another apostle, and they got to see Jesus.

| E-27 Now, Hebrews 13:8 said that He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. And if we desire to see Him, why cannot we have the same privilege that they had? Now, you see, the Scriptures cannot lie. They have to be truth. See, they have to be truth. Now, if the Bible said He's the same, that... He's got to be the same. Now, I don't believe the Bible is any private interpretation. I believe It's just the way It's written.
I believe that God will have to have some standard that He will judge the world by. Now, I... You--you all know, being an Irishman I came from a Catholic family background. And now, when I was a young boy... 'Course, my father and mother both married out of church, and out of the Catholic church, and therefore they wasn't--didn't belong to anything. And you've read my life story, perhaps. If you haven't, the books are here. A brother has them here for sale, and so forth.

E-28 Maintenant, et alors à ce propos, lorsque j’ai reçu un appel de Dieu, je me suis mis à me demander, donc... L’un dit: «Ceci c’est en ordre.» L’autre dit: «Non, ce n’est pas en ordre.» Et l’un est comme ceci, et celui-là... ce serait un peu de la confusion. Et je peux... Je ne–je ne peux pas croire qu’un Bienveillant Père céleste ferait une telle chose.
| E-28 Now, and then in that, when I got a call from God, I begin to wonder, now... Then when I went to the church, the church says that God will judge the world by the church. Well, I come to find out there's about nine hundred different churches. And one says they're right, and the other one's wrong; they're right and the other one's wrong. Now, it's a bit confusing that way. Now, if the Lutheran's right, then the Baptist is wrong. If the Baptists is right, then the Methodists is wrong. And then, they got so much different. So then in the whole thing I seen there was a confusion.
How could God ever let--then bring a people to a judgment so perfect and then so many different outlets? One this way, and one that way... One says, "This is all right;" the other one says, "No, it's not." And this one this way, and that... It would be a bit confusing. And I could... I don't--couldn't believe that a kind heavenly Father would do a thing like that.

E-29 Ainsi, je me suis donc dit: «Eh bien, par quoi a-t-Il jugé le peuple au commencement? Comment leur a-t-Il donné...» C’était dans le... Nous allons devoir retourner dans la Genèse, au... La Genèse c’est le chapitre semence, ce qui signifie le commencement.
Et la première chose que Dieu avait placée devant l’homme, c’était d’obéir à Sa Parole. Et une toute petite erreur, non pas un grand chapitre tout entier, mais le simple fait de mal interpréter la Parole, juste tordre cela un tout petit peu (c’est ce que Satan a fait) par le raisonnement, et cela a causé tout le... Chaque maladie de coeur qui ait jamais existé, chaque maladie, chaque mort, chaque petit bébé malade, chaque tombe sur le flanc d’une colline, le simple fait de douter d’une seule petite Parole... Ce n’était pas tellement le fait de rejeter cela, mais le simple fait de déformer la chose, le simple fait de raisonner. «N’est-ce pas raisonnable que Dieu ne ferait pas une chose pareille?», a-t-il dit. Mais Dieu avait dit qu’Il le ferait. Voyez-vous?
| E-29 So then, I thought, "Well, what did He first put judgment on people by? How did He give them..." That was in the... Going have to go back to Genesis, to... Genesis is the seed chapter, which means "beginning."
And the first thing that God put before man was obey His Word. And just one little slip, not a whole great big chapter, but just misconstruing the Word, just twisting it a little bit (Satan did) by reasoning, and it caused the whole... Every heartache that ever was, every sickness, every death, every little sick baby, every grave on the hillside, just to disbelieve one little Word... Just not exactly throwed it out, but just misquoted it, just reasoned. "Isn't it reasonable that God wouldn't do such a thing?" he said. But God said He would do it. See?

E-30 Et si donc Dieu a laissé tous ces six mille ans de souffrance, rien qu’à cause du fait de retrancher une seule Parole et–et de mal placer cela, et cela a causé tout ceci, comment va-t-Il nous laisser retourner avec une autre Parole complètement mal placée? Alors avec neuf cent soixante différentes dénominations, comment pouvons-nous être jugés par cela? Chacune parle de cette manière-ci ou de cette manière-là.
Et puis, j’ai lu dans la Bible là où... Dans la dernière partie de la Bible il est dit: «Celui qui retranchera quoi que ce soit de ce Livre ou Y ajoutera quelque chose, de même sa part sera retranchée du Livre de Vie.» Ça c’est le clergé, les dénominations, et ainsi de suite, qui–qui déforment la Parole, ou qui injectent des dogmes au lieu de la Parole, et ainsi de suite, et des idées des hommes en vue de leur propre réalisation. Cela doit être exactement la Parole de Dieu, très exactement tel qu’Il l’a dit.
| E-30 And then, if God let all this six thousand years of suffering, just because of just taking one Word and--and misguiding it, and caused all of this, how's He going to let us go back with another Word all misguided? So with nine hundred and sixty something different denominations, how can we judge by that? Everyone's saying this way, or that way?
Then I read in the book where... Over in the last part of the book of the Bible it said, "He that will take anything out of this book or add one thing to it, the same will be taken out of his part of the book of life." That's the clergy, denominations, or so forth, that--that misquote the Word, or put dogmas in instead of Scripture, and so forth, and men's own ideas for their own achievement. It must be exactly God's Word, just exactly the way He said it.

E-31 Maintenant, je sais que bon nombre d’entre nous n’ont pas la foi, et moi je n’ai pas la foi pour amener toutes ces promesses à être confirmées–à s’accomplir. Mais je ne ferai sûrement pas obstacle à quelqu’un qui a effectivement ce genre de foi. C’est comme je l’ai souvent dit: «J’aurais aimé avoir assez de foi comme Enoch, pour faire une petite promenade l’après-midi et monter à la Maison avec Lui. J’aurais aimé avoir ce genre de foi.» Mais moi... Si je ne l’ai pas, je ne ferai pas obstacle à quelqu’un d’autre qui l’a. Je dirai: «Que Dieu soit loué pour ce précieux frère ou cette précieuse soeur qui a la foi pour quitter cette vie sans passer par la mort.» Ce serait merveilleux.
Mais nous croyons qu’il vient un temps où, pendant une promenade un après-midi ou un matin, ou quelque chose de ce genre, plusieurs sur la terre seront pris dans l’Enlèvement à la Venue du Seigneur. Et je crois que nous nous approchons de ce moment-là.
| E-31 Now, I know many of us don't have faith, and I don't have faith to make all of His promises come to true--to pass. But I sure wouldn't stand in the way of somebody that did have that kind of faith. As I've often said, "I wished I had enough faith like Enoch had, to take a little afternoon walk and go up home with Him. I wished I could have that kind of faith." But I... If I haven't got it, I won't stand in somebody else's way that has got it. I'll say, "Thank God for that precious brother or sister who has faith to walk right out of life without dying." That would be wonderful.
But we believe that there's coming a time that when there will be an afternoon or morning walk of some kind, and there'll be many on earth will be caught away in the rapture at the coming of the Lord. And I believe we're nearing that time.

Or, depuis l’aube des temps cela a été le cri du coeur de l’homme de voir Dieu. Job, le plus ancien Livre de la Bible; on dit que ce Livre fut écrit avant que Moïse ait écrit la Genèse... Or, ce Moïse ou plutôt Job a crié: «Oh! si je pouvais connaître (en d’autres termes), connaître là où Il habite, si je pouvais frapper à Sa porte, si je pouvais m’entretenir avec Lui. (Voyez?) Si je pouvais juste voir l’endroit où je pourrais aller frapper à Sa porte, j’aimerais plaider avec Lui.» Chaque homme essaie de regarder derrière ce rideau-là, il sait qu’il est sorti des ténèbres quelque part, et il sait qu’il est ici dans une vie humaine et qu’il retournera en traversant là quelque part. Alors chaque homme essaie de découvrir la porte, et comment–d’où nous venons, et où nous allons. Cela a toujours été le cri du coeur humain.
| E-32 Now. Now, the Bible's saying that He is the same... That's what I'm trying to get to you, that you must realize this: that the Bible said Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. And the Greeks wanted to see Him, and they were taken to Him by one of His disciples. Then, would it not be possible, if He is the same, for another true disciple to take you to Him, let us see Him?
Now, it's been the cry of the human heart since the dawn of time to see God. Job, the oldest book in the Bible, they claim was wrote before Moses wrote Genesis... Now, that Moses... or, Job cried out, "Oh, that I might know (in other words), know where He lives at, if I could knock on the door, if I could talk to Him. (See?) If I could just see somewhere that I could go knock on the door, I'd like to reason it out with Him." Every man is trying to look a-past that curtain, knows that he come from somewhere out of the darkness, knows that he's here in human life and he's crossing back through there again somewhere. So every man is trying to find out what is the door, and how to--where we come from, and where we're going. It's always been the cry of the human heart.

| E-33 And yet, if we would stop just for a moment, He's so real around us until there's... Why, He's just everywhere. God is... He lives in every creature that's got life in it. He's living there. Every plant, every flower, everything else, God lives in it.
But now, instead of going into that, which we might later, I want to get this point to you: now, if Jesus was in Santa--Santa Maria tonight, what type of person would you look for? Now, we know that His physical body, which was borned of the virgin Mary, that was crucified, and died, buried, and rose the third day, and ascended up to the right hand of the Majesty on high, sets there tonight a High Priest, ever living to make intercessions upon our confession. And He's also a High Priest that can be touched by the feeling of our infirmities. Right now He is that kind of a High Priest that can be touched by the feeling of our infirmities.

| E-34 Now. The only way... If I ask all you Lutheran, "What do you think about Him?" why, He'd be Lutheran; all the Catholic, He'd be Catholic; the Pentecostal, He'd be Pentecost, and so forth. Let's just... The only true way to find it out is this: let's find out what He was yesterday. And if you can see what He was yesterday, then He's got to be the same today, and will be forever. Just lay the church body aside, of their ideas of it, and let's just find out what He was yesterday.
Now, we remember that He's been promised. Since the garden of Eden, from the very first day of sin came in the garden of Eden, and God called Adam and Eve to judgment, He promised the Seed of the woman should crush the serpent's head--a Saviour.

Or, les Hébreux, la manière dont ils pouvaient savoir... Il nous est enseigné dans le Livre de Deutéronome, au chapitre 18: «Lorsqu’il y aura parmi vous quelqu’un qui est spirituel ou prophète, c’est dans des visions que Moi, l’Eternel Dieu, Je me révélerai à lui, c’est dans des songes que Je lui parlerai. Et si ce que ce prophète dit s’accomplit, alors écoutez-le. Mais si cela ne s’accomplit pas, ne l’écoutez pas.» Voyez-vous? Parce que... «Ne craignez pas cet homme, parce que Je ne l’ai pas envoyé.»
| E-35 The next great move, we find Moses, the great... Well, he was a type of Christ: a law-giver, priest, king, and so forth. We find out that he was a perfect type of Christ: born in the time of persecution of the enemy, hid in the bulrushes just like Christ was, and come out, and led the children out, and so forth. And so we find there that Moses at the--down towards the end of his road, he said now after his going that "The Lord your God shall raise up a prophet liken unto me."
Now, we know that all Israel, all the Old Testaments, always depended on their prophets. Hebrews 1 said, "God, in sundry times and divers manners, spake to the fathers by the prophets, but in this last day through His Son, Christ Jesus." See?
Now, the Hebrews, the way that they could tell--we're taught over in Deuteronomy, about the 18th chapter, "If there be one among you who's spiritual or a prophet, I, the Lord God, will make Myself known unto him in visions and speak to him in dreams. And if what this prophet says comes to pass, then you hear him. But if it doesn't come to pass, don't you listen to him." See? because... "Don't fear that man, because I never sent him."

E-36 C’est tout simplement raisonnable. Quand Dieu envoie une chose, Dieu soutient ce qu’Il envoie. Alors Dieu envoie Sa Parole; Dieu soutient Sa Parole. Or, un homme peut venir et vous dire n’importe quoi. Mais lorsque Dieu dit une chose, alors Dieu soutient très exactement ce qu’Il a dit qu’Il ferait, parce qu’Il est obligé de le faire pour être Dieu. Il ne peut pas faire une promesse et ensuite ne pas s’en tenir à cela, et puis rester Dieu. Il ne peut pas faire cela. Voyez-vous? Il doit s’en tenir à Sa promesse.
Maintenant, nous voyons donc que nous... La première fois que nous Le voyons apparaître sur scène... Il y a là-dedans un tas de choses que nous allons prendre tout au long de cette semaine, et nous allons défricher la chose de sorte que vous en ayez le–une meilleure compréhension. Mais commençons simplement avec la Vie de Christ.
| E-36 That's only reasonable. If God sends anything, God backs up what He sends. So God sends His Word; God backs His Word up. Now, a man can come in and tell you anything. But when God says anything, then God backs up just exactly what He says He will do, 'cause He's got to, in order to be God. He couldn't make a promise and then not stick with it, then remain God. He couldn't do it. See? He's got to stay with His promise.
Now, we find out then that we... The first time we find Him appearing on the scene... There's lots in there that we'll pick up down through the week, and weed it in so that you'll get the--a more understanding of it. But let's just start with the life of Christ.

E-37 Nous savons maintenant qu’Il était né d’une vierge. Or, dans la version originale, il est dit la même chose. Il est dit: «En qui Je me plais de demeurer», et Dieu habitait en Christ. Nous savons cela.
Il a dit: «Ce n’est pas Moi qui fais les oeuvres. C’est Mon Père qui habite en Moi, c’est Lui qui fait les oeuvres.» Dans Jean 5.19, Il a dit: «En vérité, en vérité, Je vous le dis, le Fils ne peut rien faire de Lui-même, Il ne fait que ce qu’Il voit faire au Père; le Fils le fait pareillement.»
| E-37 We know now He was born of the virgin. At the age of--of thirty years old He was baptized by John the baptizer; went into the wilderness, and was tempted of the devil for forty days and nights, and came out and started His ministry. The first thing we notice after He come out, well, John saw a sign over Him like a light. A form of a Dove came down from heaven, and a voice coming from that form of Dove (the Spirit of God), a voice coming from the Spirit of God, which the--the Dove was the Spirit of God, saying, "This is My beloved Son in Whom I am well pleased." Now, that's the--the King James version. Now, in the original version is something the same thing. It says, "in whom I'm pleased to dwell in," and God dwelt in Christ. We know that.
He said, "It's not Me that doeth the works. It's My Father that dwelleth in Me, He doeth the works." St. John 5:19, He said, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, the Son can do nothing in himself, but what He sees the Father doing: that doeth the Son likewise."

| E-39 Now, there's only three races of people in the world. Let them say whatever they want to, there's three races: Ham, Shem, and Japheth's people, 'cause that sprung from Noah, from the ark. And so then, that was the Jew, Gentile, and Samaritan, which we find out that the Pentecostal message went to them three, and Peter with the keys, and from then on it's to everybody then. Now, we find out that Peter on the day of Pentecost to the Jews, and down to the Samaritans when Philip went down and preached to them to there, and then at the house of Cornelius, and then that was it--the world had it, had the Gospel.

Et aussitôt qu’Il a regardé Pierre (ou plutôt Simon), Il a dit: «Ton nom est Simon, et tu es le fils de Jonas.» Cela... Immédiatement, Simon a reconnu cela et L’a accepté. Maintenant, pourquoi cet homme-là, sur base de ce qui est arrivé... Juste parce que Jésus avait dit ces choses: «Tu es Simon, et tu es le fils de Jonas», et il L’a immédiatement reconnu comme étant le Messie. Comment y est-il arrivé?
| E-40 Now. Now, let's notice closely now as we come in. Now, we see Him coming down out of the wilderness. Immediately the sparks begin to fly from His ministry, healings taking place, and great things taking place. And there happened to be one named Andrew. He had a brother named Simon. I took the history of his father, and of Peter, which we know him as tonight. His name then was Simon. And Andrew persuaded him to come to see Jesus, and told him He was the Messiah. He was thoroughly convinced that was the Messiah.
And when he came to Jesus, Jesus looked at him. Now, remember, He is Messiah, and now here's what He was yesterday. And as soon as He looked at Peter (or Simon), He said, "Your name is Simon, and you are the son of Jonas." That... Immediately Simon recognized it and accepted Him. Now, why would that man, upon that condition... Just because Jesus said those things, "Your name is Simon, and you are the son of Jonas," and he recognized Him immediately to be the Messiah. Why would he do it?

E-41 Voyez, son père lui avait enseigné par les Ecritures qu’un jour le Messie viendrait et qu’il y aurait une grande agitation parmi les gens. Vous pourriez Le voir. Nous L’avons attendu depuis quatre mille ans, mais Il pourrait venir dans votre génération. Et n’oubliez pas que notre Bible ne peut faillir. Nos Ecritures ne peuvent faillir. Il sera un prophète, car Moïse, celui que nous avons cru toutes ces années, celui qui nous a conduits hors d’Egypte, nous a dit que l’Eternel notre Dieu nous donnerait un prophète exactement comme lui. Et Il sera un Dieu-Prophète, et c’est à cela que vous Le reconnaîtrez.»
| E-41 See, he was taught in the Scriptures by his father that someday the Messiah will come and there'll be a great disturbance amongst the people. Always before something real happens, there's a lot of counterfeit stuff rises up around it. We know that. Always that's the devil trying to counterfeit it. And remember, when you see a counterfeit, just remember it speaks of a real one coming. You see? That's always. See?
Now. And I can just hear Jonas say, "Simon, my boy," his hair gray, Jonas. And say, "I always thought I would see the day when the Messiah would come. But I'm getting old now, and I probably won't see it. But son, you and Andrew set here. Don't forget. The Messiah... There will be a lot of stuff rising up in your days. You may see Him. We've looked for Him now for four thousand years, but He may come in your generation. And don't you forget that our Bible cannot fail. Our Scriptures cannot fail. He will be a prophet, for Moses, the one that we believed all these years, the one that led us out of Egypt, told us that the Lord our God would give us a prophet just like him. And He will be a God-prophet, and you'll know Him by that."

E-42 Et dès que Simon a vu ce Jésus de Nazareth dire: «Ton nom est Simon, et tu es le fils de Jonas», ce vieux père qui était un homme pieux et qui l’avait instruit... C’était un signe parfait montrant que c’était ce Prophète-là. Voyez-vous?
Vous savez, on Lui a dit: «Es-Tu le Christ? Es-Tu ce prophète-là qui était censé se lever?»
Eh bien, Il s’était révélé à l’homme à qui Il a donné les clés du Royaume, celui qui était le chef de l’église de Jérusalem, en lui disant qui Il était, et quel était le nom de son père. Eh bien, c’était de cette manière-là qu’Il s’était fait connaître à Simon Pierre, et Pierre L’a reconnu comme étant le Messie.
| E-42 And as soon as Simon seen this Jesus of Nazareth said, "Your name is Simon and the son of Jonas," that godly old father that had instructed him... There was the perfect sign that was the prophet. See?
You know, they said to Him, "Art thou the Christ? Art thou this prophet that was supposed to rise?"
Now, He made Hisself known to the man that He gave the keys to the Kingdom, that was the head of the church at Jerusalem, by telling him who he was, and what his father's name was. Now, that was the way He made Hisself known to Simon Peter, and Peter recognized Him to be the Messiah.

Voyez, voyez? Souvenez-vous que cela vient à ceux qui attendent cela, qui croient cela. Ce n’est que de cette manière-là que Dieu se révèle–qu’Il s’est toujours révélé, et qu’Il se révélera toujours. Suivez.
| E-43 Philip was standing there. And it so thrilled him, because Philip was a godly man. He was waiting and watching. God... Listen, don't forget this. He will only appear to those who are looking for Him; no other. That's the reason John saw that Light, and he's the only one that saw it. John bare record saying, "I saw it." Nobody else saw it. When Paul saw that same Light... struck him down. Paul saw the Light; not the men was with him. See, see? Remember that it comes to those who are looking for it, who's believing it. That's the only way God reveals Himself--always has, and always will. Notice.

E-44 Or, Philippe se tenait là lorsqu’il a vu cela s’accomplir. Il connaissait un homme qui... Ils avaient étudié la Bible ensemble, et ils étaient des orthodoxes. Ils croyaient réellement ce qui était écrit dans les rouleaux, et ils attendaient que quelque chose se produise. Et Il a contourné la montagne... Si jamais l’un de vous a déjà été en Palestine, de là où Jésus prêchait, cela faisait quinze miles [24,14 km.] de l’autre côté de la montagne jusqu’à l’endroit où il est allé chercher son ami, Nathanaël.
Nathanaël avait un verger: des oliviers. Et ainsi, Philippe s’est approché de la porte, il a frappé à la porte, et la femme de l’autre lui a dit qu’il se trouvait dehors dans le jardin. Alors il s’est rendu dans le jardin, et là se trouvait Nathanaël.
| E-44 Now, Philip was standing there when he saw that taking place. He knew of a man that... They'd had Bible school together, and they were orthodox. They were really believers in the scrolls, and they were looking for something to happen. And around the mountain... If any of you was ever in Palestine, from where Jesus was preaching it was fifteen miles around to where he found his friend, Nathanael.
Nathanael had a orchard: olives. And so he went to the door, knocked at the door, and his wife told him that he was out in the garden. So he goes out in the garden, and there's Nathanael.

Je peux m’imaginer entendre sa prière: «Père, nous avons désiré ardemment que le Messie, le Libérateur, nous libère de cette puissance romaine. Ô Dieu notre Père, vivrai-je pour voir le jour où ce Messie se révélera à nous? J’ai lu dans Tes Saintes Ecritures les passages qui disent qu’Il viendra. Moïse nous a dit que l’Eternel notre Dieu nous susciterait un prophète comme lui, et que nous le reconnaîtrions. Et, Père, je désire ardemment et j’attends ce moment-là. J’ai étudié les Ecritures. | E-45 Let's just break in, and see what he was praying about. I can imagine hearing him say, "Father, we have longed for the Messiah, the Deliverer, to set us free from this Roman power. Oh, Father God, will I live to see the day when this Messiah shall make Hisself known to us? I have read in Your Scriptures where He's coming. Moses told us that the Lord our God would raise up to us a prophet liken unto him, and we would know Him. And Father, I'm longing and waiting for that time. I've studied the Scriptures. I've lived in them day and night."
And just about time he said, "Amen," and raised up, Philip said, "Come, see Who we have found. We found Him: Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of Joseph."

| E-46 Well, I can imagine Nathanael... Now, I give this a little drama. I can imagine Nathanael saying, "Now, Philip. I've knowed you to be a very levelheaded man. And I... Surely you haven't went off on the deep end on something." You know, like we'd say today. "Now, Philip, we've studied the Scriptures too much together. Now, you come tell me that the Messiah is here. Now, you know good and well if that Messiah come, He would come to us Pharisees alone, our group, and that alone. Or He would--they'd spread down the corridors, and He'd come down on the temple at the great temple that Moses built, and He'd introduce Himself to Caiaphas the High Priest. 'I am the Messiah that you're looking for.'"

E-47 Voyez, c’est de cette manière qu’ils se l’étaient peut-être représenté. Mais Dieu a Sa propre manière de faire les choses. Voyez, voyez-vous? Il vint en conformité avec les Ecritures, mais eux avaient mal interprété les Ecritures. Peu importe de quelle manière Dieu L’envoie, qu’Il vienne comme Il viendra, tel qu’Il–Il a prévu qu’Il viendra. Pour certains d’entre nous, Il viendra sur une nuée blanche, pour d’autres sur un cheval blanc. Peu m’importe comment Il viendra, il est simplement question que je sois prêt lorsqu’Il viendra. Je–je veux Le voir. Et j’étudie les Ecritures assidûment pour savoir très exactement ce que les Ecritures disent, alors je Le reconnaîtrai lorsqu’Il apparaîtra. Vous voyez? Observez ce que les Ecritures disent à Son sujet.
| E-47 See, that's the way they might've had it all drawed up. But God has His own way of doing things. See, see? He come just exactly with the Scripture, but they had the Scripture misconstrued. I wonder if He comes, if He'd come tonight, if a lot of us haven't got it all messed up. But the main thing is, be ready when He comes; that--that's the thing. No matter which way God sends Him, just let Him come the way He is, way He's--He's got planned for Him to come. Some of us got Him coming on a white cloud, some on a white horse. I don't care how He comes, just so I'm ready when He comes. I--I want to see Him. And I'm studying hard to know just exactly what the Scripture says, so I'll know Him when He appears. You see? Watch what the Scripture says about Him.

He went probably one day around the mountain and come back the next day. On the next day around said... I can hear Philip say to Nathanael, "Nathanael, do you remember that time when you bought them fish from that old fellow called Simon?"
"Oh, yes, Jonas' son. Sure."
"You know, he didn't even have enough education to sign a receipt for you, a ticket that he got the fish."
"Yes."
See, the Bible said Peter was ignorant and unlearned. How many knows that? Yes, sir. He didn't have an education. He wasn't some seminary scholar, and he--he was an ignorant and unlearned man.

And I'm going to tell you why I know it. Now, you know, Nathanael, that you and I know the Scriptures say that He will be a prophet like Moses. And as soon as he walked into the Presence of Jesus, Jesus said, 'Your name is Simon, and you are the son of Jonas.' Now, how would He know that if He wasn't a prophet?"
And I hear Philip say, "You know, Nathanael, it wouldn't surprise me a bit but when you come up before Him He wouldn't say, 'Good evening, Nathanael.'"

E-50 «Oh!» a-t-il dit... Nathanaël a dit: «Laissez-moi aller pour voir par moi-même.» Ça, c’est une bonne idée, vous savez. Et d’abord il avait de la peine à croire cela; et il a été invité à aller voir par lui-même. Il a dit: «Peut-il venir de Nazareth quelque chose de bon,» de cette bande de saints exaltés, vous savez, des gens qui sont là-bas? Excusez-moi. «Peut-il venir de là quelque chose de bon?»
Il a dit: «Viens voir par toi-même.» Ne restez pas à la maison à critiquer cela. Venez vous rendre compte. Venez voir. Et ne prenez pas juste les déclarations d’un homme. Examinez cela, et voyez si c’est scripturaire ou non. Voyez? «Viens voir par toi-même.»
| E-50 "Aw," he'd say... Nathanael'd say, "Let me go and see for myself." That's a good idea, you know. And first he couldn't hardly believe it, and he was invited to come see for himself. Said, "Could anything good come out of Nazareth," that bunch of holy-rollers, or you know, people down there?" Excuse me. "Could anything good come out of there?"
He said, "Come, see for yourself." Don't stay home and criticize it. Come, find out. Come, see. And don't just take the man's word. Search it, and see if it's Scriptural or not. See? "Come, see for yourself."

E-51 Et, chemin faisant, ils s’entretenaient. Finalement ils sont arrivés là où Jésus tenait un service de guérison. Ils... Et Il a dit: «Eh bien, avant que Philippe t’appelât, lorsque tu étais sous l’arbre, Je t’ai vu.» A quinze miles [24,14 km] derrière la montagne, quels yeux! «Je t’ai vu.»
| E-51 And on the road around they talked. Finally they arrived where Jesus was having the healing service. They... Nathanael might've been in the prayer line, I don't know; he might've been standing out in the audience. But when he first saw Jesus, and Jesus looked upon him, He said, "Behold an Israelite, in whom there is no guile." That took the wind out of his sails, as to speak. He... Why, he didn't--he couldn't understand.
He said, "Rabbi (which means, "teacher") how did You ever know me? This is the first time we ever met. How would You know me?"
And He said, "Why, before Philip called you, when you were under the tree, I saw you." Fifteen miles around the mountain, what eyes, "I saw you."

E-52 Sans tarder, cet homme a reconnu que cela... Ils n’avaient pas eu de prophète depuis quatre cents ans, vous savez, et il a immédiatement reconnu que c’était Lui. Alors il a couru vers Lui et a dit: «Rabbi, Tu es le Fils de Dieu, Tu es le Roi d’Israël.» Est-ce juste?
Il a dit: «Parce que Je t’ai dit cela, tu as cru.»
Pourquoi? Or, ça c’était Jésus hier. S’Il est le même aujourd’hui, Il doit faire de même. Voyez? S’Il est le même hier... C’est de cette manière qu’Il s’est révélé à Son peuple. C’est de cette manière qu’ils L’ont reconnu. Ce n’était pas par Son enseignement; par Ses oeuvres. Voyez?
Jésus a dit: «Vous sondez les Ecritures. Ce sont Elles qui rendent témoignage de Moi. Vous pensez avoir en Elles la Vie Eternelle: et ce sont Elles qui rendent témoignage de Moi. Et si Je ne fais pas les oeuvres de Mon Père, alors ne Me croyez pas. Mais si Je fais les oeuvres de Mon Père, et que vous ne pouvez pas Me croire, eh bien, alors croyez les oeuvres que Je fais. Ce sont elles qui rendent témoignage de Moi.» L’oeuvre est une confirmation de la Parole. C’est ce qui rend témoignage. Eh bien, ne serait-ce pas la même chose aujourd’hui? Les oeuvres rendent témoignage. Voici ce que la Parole dit, et voici les oeuvres qui rendent témoignage de la Parole. Or, Il ne peut changer. Il doit être le même.
| E-52 Quickly that man recognized that that... They hadn't had a prophet for four hundred years, you know, and he recognized immediately that was Him. So he run up to Him and said, "Rabbi, Thou art the Son of God. Thou art the King of Israel." Is that right?
He said, "Because I told you that, you believed?"
Why? Now, that was Jesus yesterday. If He's the same today, He'd do the same thing. See? If He's the same yesterday... That's the way He made Himself known to His people. That's how they recognized Him: not by His teaching; by His works. See?
Jesus said, "Search the Scriptures. They are They that testify of Me. In them you think you have Eternal Life: and They are They that testify of Me. And if I do not the works of My Father, then don't believe Me. But if I do the works of My Father, and you can't believe Me, well, then believe the works that I do. They're the one that testifies of Me." The work's a confirmation of the Word. That's what testifies. Well, wouldn't it be the same thing today? The works testifies. Here's the Word says so, and here's the works that testifies of the Word. Now, He can't change. He's got to be the same.

E-53 Eh bien, oh! il y en avait qui se tenaient là, assurément, ils se tenaient là à l’écart, le grand souverain sacrificateur et les sacrificateurs de la synagogue, et tous ils se tenaient là, observant, et, bien sûr, ils devaient donner une réponse à leurs assemblées. | E-53 Now, oh, there was them standing there, sure, standing back there, the great, High Priest, and priests in the synagogues, and all of them standing there watching, and, of course, they had to give an answer to their congregation. It... The work was done.
You know what they said? They said, "He's Beelzebub, fortuneteller, a devil."
And Jesus turned and said to them this: "Verily, verily I say unto you (See?) you speak that against the Son of man, I'll forgive you. But (otherwise) someday the Holy Ghost is coming to do the same work, and to speak a word against it, will never be forgiven in this world, nor the world that is to come."
Now, see, see, watch that prophecy swinging on into our day. See? To speak a word against it will never be forgiven in this world nor in the world that is to come.

E-54 Et Philippe était là, Pierre et les autres se tenaient là, ces Juifs ont dit: «Il est le Fils de Dieu, le Roi d’Israël,» parce qu’Il avait fait ces choses devant eux. Et ceux qui étaient censés être des orthodoxes ont dit qu’Il était Béelzébul, le diable, un diseur de bonne aventure. Voyez?
Et Jésus a rendu témoignage que cela viendrait dans un autre jour au travers du Saint-Esprit; en effet, le Saint-Esprit n’avait pas encore été donné en ce temps-là. Jésus n’avait pas encore été offert en sacrifice. Alors le Saint-Esprit allait venir, et prononcer une seule parole contre Cela, parce que... De quoi s’agit-il? De traiter l’Esprit de Dieu, qui accomplit les oeuvres de Dieu, d’un esprit impur, d’un démon. Voyez? Or, Jésus-Christ a prophétisé que cela s’accomplirait de cette manière-là. Il doit en être ainsi.
| E-54 And here was Philip, Peter, and them standing there, those Jews saying, "He's the Son of God, the King of Israel," because He did those things before them. And the supposed to be orthodox said He's was Beelzebub, the devil, fortuneteller. See?
And Jesus testified that that would come in another day by the Holy Ghost, 'cause the Holy Ghost wasn't given then. He hadn't yet been sacrificed. So the Holy Ghost would come, and to speak against It then because... What is it? Calling the Spirit of God, that's doing the works of God, an unclean spirit, a devil. See? Now, it's prophesied by Jesus Christ that it would happen that way. It's got to be that way.

And that don't have anything to do... God made of one blood all nations. Whether they're Chinese, Japanese, or African, or Anglo-Saxon, or whatever he was, they're all one blood. All come from Adam (See?), and they're raised in different parts of the country and tropics.

Le même cerf changera de couleur, qu’il soit rouge, brun ou noir. Oui, oui. Cela dépend de la région où il vit, la nourriture dont il se nourrit, et ainsi de suite comme cela. Maintenant, c’est comme cela que la couleur de notre peau et tout ont changé, mais nous sommes tous issus d’une seule race. C’est la race humaine (C’est juste.), nous venons tous de ce seul arbre.
| E-56 Now, you just take anything, it'll do the same thing. You can take a coyote down there in Mexico, and let him live on that red sand ground, he's reddish color; bring him up here on the white sands, he's white colored, kind of a brownish. Take him up yonder, way up in the north country, way up in British Columbia, he's snow white, the same coyote, exactly.
Same deer will change color from red, brown, and black. Yes, sir. Depends on the country he's living in, the food he's feeding on, and so forth like that. Now, that's how our colors and things got changed, but we all come from one race. That's the human race (That's right.), all off of that one tree.

And we'll--the rest of the week we'll weed them in, and so forth. But just get--just take them two there, Peter and this man Nathanael. And that's the way they knew that He was the Messiah.

Elle avait été mariée plusieurs fois et ainsi de suite. Et elle était–elle est venue au puits, vers, je pense, vers midi. Après qu’Il les a envoyés dans la ville chercher de la nourriture pour le dîner, et elle est venue au puits.
| E-58 Now. One day He had need to go by Samaria. Now, that's the Samaritan, which is another race of people, and He had to go up... He was going on his road to Jericho, right straight down. But He went up around Sychar, over with--at Samaria, and stopped at a city, Sychar. And He sent in His disciples to buy food.
And while they were in, a woman... Well, we would call her a woman of ill-fame here in this country. She had been married several times and so forth. And she was--she came out to the well about, I suppose, around noontime, when He sent them in for lunch, and come out to the well.

Et vous devriez voir les femmes là-bas, comment elles transportent l’eau. Je les ai vues mettre une cruche de cinq litres sur la tête, et une autre sur chaque hanche, et descendre la rue, causant tout simplement comme savent le faire les femmes, vous savez, en hochant la tête l’une à l’autre, et sans jamais répandre une goutte. Vous parlez d’une démarche parfaite!
| E-59 And there's a... The well's still there. It's a panoramic something like this and vines over it. And there's a city public well there, where the people comes to draw water. And when she come out to this well, about eleven o'clock, and perhaps all of her... You know, the ladies, how they fixed their curls up and, you know, and everything... She would might've been she'd been out all night and just waking up, so I don't know what was the case, but she come out.
And you ought to see the women there, how they can pack that water. I've seen them put a five-gallon pitcher on top their head, and one on each hip, and go down the street talking just as ladies can talk, you know, nodding their head to one another, and never spill a drop. You talk about perfect walking.

E-60 Et ainsi, cette femme ne pouvait pas venir avec les autres femmes (Voyez?), parce qu’elle était marquée. Dans notre pays, elles ne sont pas marquées; mais là-bas elles sont marquées. Elles... Ainsi elle est sortie vers onze heures. Et il y a un puits là, et un treuil, et elle avait le... Des crochets sont fixés à cette grande cruche... On y fixe des crochets. Nous appelons cela une cruche; eux appelaient cela un seau en ce temps-là, je suppose. Elle a fixé ces crochets à la cruche, et elle a simplement commencé à faire descendre cela. Et elle a entendu Quelqu’Un dire: «Femme, apporte-Moi à boire.» Et elle a regardé à la paroi. Et là était assis un Juif plutôt d’âge moyen.
Or, nous savons qu’Il était réellement–selon les Ecritures, Il avait environ, Il n’avait pas plus de trente-trois ans, mais Il devait paraître un peu plus âgé. Vous savez, dans Jean, chapitre 6, on Lui a dit: «Tu n’as pas plus de cinquante ans, et Tu dis que Tu as vu Abraham? Maintenant nous savons que Tu as un démon.»
Il a dit: «Avant qu’Abraham fût, JE SUIS.» Voyez, voyez-vous? Il donnait l’air d’avoir cinquante ans selon leurs dires, mais Son–Son travail avait peut-être exercé une grande pression sur Lui. Et Il était assis contre le puits, Il a dit: «Apporte-Moi à boire.»
| E-60 And so this woman, she couldn't come out with the rest of the women (See?), because she was marked. In our country it's not marked; but there it is marked. They... She can't associate with other women as long as she lives like that. So she couldn't come the same time the virgins come.
So she come out about eleven o'clock. And there's a well there, and a windle, and she had the... The hooks goes in this big jar... It's got hooks on it. We call it a jar; they called it a bucket then, I suppose. Put it on it, and just started to let it down. And she heard Someone say, "Woman, bring Me a drink," and she looks over against the wall. And there set kind of a middle-aged Jew.
Now, we know that He was really, according to Scripture, He was only about, not quite thirty-three, but He must've looked a little old. You know in St. John the 6th chapter, they told Him, said, "You're a man not over fifty years old, and you say you have seen Abraham? Now, we know you got a devil."
He said, "Before Abraham was, I AM." See, see? He looked fifty according to that, but His--His work might've had a great pull on Him.
And He was setting over against the well, said, "Bring Me a drink."

Elle a dit: «Le puits est profond. Et Tu as...»
Que faisait-Il? Eh bien, Il contactait son esprit. Voyez? Eh bien, Il était en train de saisi... Or, Il a dit qu’Il fallait qu’Il passât par là. Le Père L’avait envoyé, ainsi Il devait passer par là. What was He doing? Now, He's contacting her spirit. See? Now, He's catch... He said He had need to go up there. The Father sent Him, so He had need go by there. Now, here's the subject--not knowing what He's going to do, 'cause St. John 5:19 said He did nothing till the Father showed Him.

And finally He--they got talking about the places to worship, and their different tribes or denominations, and so forth. And He said, "Oh, the Father seeketh such to worship Him in Spirit and Truth." So finally, He found what her trouble was. And He said to her, "Go, get your husband, and come here."
She said, "I have no husband."
Said, "You've said well, for you've had five, and the one you're living with is not yours." My.
Look. Look at the difference between this ill-famed woman and them priests. Them priests, when that was done, they said, "He's Beelzebub, a fortuneteller."
But this little ill-famed woman, she said, "Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet. Oh, we, we Samaritans, we know there's coming a Messiah Who's called the Christ. And when He comes this will be His sign. That's what He will do."

E-63 Souvenez-vous, Il n’avait jamais accompli cela devant les Gentils, pas même une seule fois. Eux n’attendaient pas un Messie. Voici leur jour. Voyez? So He said... Now, look. He said to this... "I perceive that thou art a prophet. We know when the Messiah cometh, which is called the Christ, that'll be His sign. He will show us these things when He comes."
And Jesus said, "I'm He that speaks with you."
Away to the city she went, and listen at her message: "Come, see a Man that's told me the things I've done. Isn't this the very Messiah?" Well, if He's the same yesterday, today, and forever... Isn't it right? And the--the Scripture says that the people... He never did it no more. The--the Scripture says that the people believed on Him because of the saying of the woman, because they knowed that was the sign of the Messiah. And He's the same yesterday, today, and forever. And we see that Lot pulled off and went down into the world, in Sodom, to live, oh, with--with the things of the world. He become the chief man of the city, maybe the mayor, or what... He was a judge, set in the gate and judged the people. His wife belonged to every society there was in the city. Yet he had a touch of God. That's a type at the end time of the church that's in the world, still living in the things of the world, the church natural. Then there was a Sodomite, which you people here know what they were.

There's your three classes. Abraham called out, and the word "church" means "called out," Abraham, the elected church. We know there's a church elected. We know that God predestinated the church. It's going to appear before Him without spot or wrinkle. He said so. I hope I'm a member of it. And I know how to get to be a member of it: by dying to yourself, and be borned of it. That's all. Now. But the church elected...
The Bible said in the last days that antichrist would deceive the very elected if it was possible. But it isn't possible. See? "If it was possible." Now, notice. There's the Sodomites; there's Lot, the lukewarm; and here is Abraham setting out here on these barren grounds.

E-67 Or, un jour, trois Visiteurs apparurent, ayant l’apparence des hommes. Leurs vêtements étaient recouverts de poussière. Ils se sont assis avec Abraham, et Abraham est allé et a tué un veau et il a pris du pain de maïs, du lait, des côtelettes de veau et il est sorti et en a donné à manger à ces Etres angéliques. They set down with Abraham, and Abraham went and killed a calf, and got some corn bread, and some milk, and some veal chops, and came out and fed these Angelic Beings. And They did eat. Notice. And here They were. And two of Them went down in Sodom to preach to Sodom. The One that stayed behind talked to Abraham.
Now, let's just take--take today. Now, isn't it strange that the church natural, out in the--the denominational world, they have had a great blasting, two great ministers? Isn't it strange that A-b-e-r-h-a-m and G-r-a-h-a-m never hit before in all the world? Then we got a Brother Oral Roberts, another great man. And remember as G-r... Or these Angels went down into the Sodom; they didn't perform any miracles; only one night they were smitten blind. And the preaching of the Word smites the unbeliever blind. He's blinded by the Word.

Elles restaient à la cuisine, où était leur place. Mais en ce temps-là... Cela a changé depuis lors, cela a beaucoup changé, et alors...

But it's changed since then, a whole lot, and so...

Now, we're a mixed audience. You listen at your doctor; I'm your brother. Now, they were old. Abraham was a hundred years old, and Sarah was ninety. Now, as husband and wife, it had ceased, maybe ten, fifteen, twenty years before that. They had no relationship anymore as husband and wife.

Voyez, avec toute notre incrédulité et tout le reste, Il nous retrancherait de la terre. Mais Il ne le peut pas; nous sommes une partie de Christ. Vous voyez? Ainsi Il nous pardonne nos péchés. Voyez? Il aurait pu lui ôter la vie. Nous entrerons dans ces choses un peu plus profondément plus tard, parce que notre temps presse. Mais suivez.

And the Angel, with His back turned to the tent, said, "Why did Sarah laugh?"Saying about...?... What kind of telepathy is that? Look. God would've took Sarah's life right there, but He couldn't. She's part of Abraham. And that's the same thing the church today. See, all of our unbeliefs and things, He'd take us off the earth. But He can't; we're part of Christ. You see? So He forgives us of our sins. See? He'd have took her. We'll get into these things deeper later, 'cause our time's getting away. But watch.

He said, "As it was in the days of Lot, so shall it be in the coming of the Son of man," that God, Himself, in the form of the Holy Ghost, would be so into His church, so filled, till He'd be moving and operating in the church: God in human flesh (See?), doing the same thing.

Et «Messieurs, nous voudrions voir Jésus.» Comment allez-vous Le reconnaître?
| E-72 Now, if the Jews had that sign of the Messiah at the ending of their time, and the Samaritans at the ending of their time, 'cause they were looking... We've had two thousand years of preaching, theology, never has it been in the church before. And now, here in the last days, the closing out, with the promise of Christ and hundreds of more promises of these things would happen, then if we would want to see Him and want to know Who He is, He's got to be the same yesterday, today, and forever. That's right. Got to be the same, Jesus promised it the same.
And "Sirs, we would see Jesus." How would you know Him?

E-73 Si je parcourais Santa Maria ce soir et que je rencontrais un homme qui est habillé comme Lui l’était, portant des sandales et peut-être une robe, avec des cicatrices sur tout son visage comme ceci, et des empreintes de clous dans ses mains, ça pourrait être le plus grand hypocrite qui existe dans ce pays. N’importe qui peut imiter cela. Certainement. Mais comment reconnaît-on un arbre? A quoi, a dit Jésus, on le reconnaîtrait? A ses fruits. Maintenant, vous les gens qui plantez des agrumes par ici, eh bien, qu’en serait-il si vous preniez un... Si vous retirez toute la vie d’un oranger et que vous mettiez cela dans un... Et si vous retirez toute la vie d’un pamplemoussier et que vous mettiez la vie de l’oranger dans le pamplemoussier, qu’est-ce que cela produira? Des oranges. Assurément. C’est la vie qui se trouve à l’intérieur qui produit le fruit. Est-ce juste? Eh bien, je ne parle pas de greffage maintenant. Je parle de retirer la vie. C’est ça le problème aujourd’hui. On a trop de greffage, et les gens ne meurent pas suffisamment, et la vie n’a pas été ôtée. Et il n’y a pas de naissance avec la nouvelle Vie. Voilà le problème.
| E-73 If I went down to Santa Maria tonight and got some person that was dressed like He was, with sandals on, and perhaps a robe on and scars all over his face like this, and nail prints in his hands, that could be the biggest hypocrite there was in the country. Anybody could impersonate that. Certainly.
But how do you know a tree? What did Jesus say you would know them? By their fruit. Now, you people are--are citrus growers around here. Now, what if you took a... If you could take all the life out of an orange tree and put it over into a... And take all the life out of a grapefruit tree, and put the orange tree life in the grapefruit tree, what would it bear? Oranges. Sure. It's the life in it produces what it is. Is that right? Now, I don't mean grafting now. I mean taking the life out. That's what's the matter today. You got too much grafting, and not enough dying out and the life out, and the new life borned in. That's what it is.

E-74 Mais lorsque la nouvelle Vie... Si vous retirez la–la vie d’une citrouille et que vous la placiez dans une vigne, et que vous retiriez la vie de la vigne, cette vigne portera des citrouilles, parce que c’est ça la vie qui est à l’intérieur. Assurément. C’est de la vie qui est à l’intérieur qu’il s’agit. C’est la vie qui se trouve dans l’église qui produit les fruits. Voyez?
Maintenant Sa Vie dans ces derniers jours est dans Son Eglise, et Jésus-Christ est le même hier, aujourd’hui et éternellement. Nous croyons cela, n’est-ce pas? Or, s’Il est venu sous cette forme pour apparaître ici à l’Eglise des Gentils qui attend Sa Venue...
Maintenant, s’Il laisse l’Eglise entrer directement sur la seule base de la théologie, alors Il avait accompli quelque chose pour les Juifs et les Samaritains qui ferait de Lui quelqu’un de différent aujourd’hui. Il–Il a–Il ne nous a pas visités comme cela. Il ne peut pas le faire. Voyez, Sa première décision, la manière dont Il s’est révélé, c’est de cette manière qu’Il le fera la deuxième fois, c’est de cette manière qu’Il le fera la troisième fois, car Il est le même hier, aujourd’hui et éternellement. C’est juste. Croyez-vous cela?

If you took the--the life out of a pumpkin and put it into a grapevine, and the life of the grapevine out, the grapevine would bear pumpkins, 'cause it's the life that's in it. Sure it would. It's the life that's in there. It's the life that's in the church produces what it is. See?
Now, His Life in these last days is in His church, and Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. We believe that, don't we? Now, if He has come in this form to appear here at the Gentile church that's looking for Him to come...
Now, if He lets the church go ride right on in just on theology alone, then He did something for the Jews and Samaritans that made Him different today. He--He did--He didn't visit us like that. He can't do it. See, His first decision how to declare Himself, that's the way He did it the second time, and that's the way He will do it the third time, for He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. That's right. Do you believe it?

Eh bien, je crois qu’aujourd’hui le Saint-Esprit est venu sur l’Eglise. Je crois qu’Il est venu pour restaurer tout ce que le gazam, le hasil et tous les autres ont dévoré tout au long de ces âges des ténèbres. Now, I believe that today the Holy Spirit has come upon the church. I believe it come to restore all that the palmerworm, and cankerworm, and so forth had eaten down through the dark ages. And now, it's been building up till it's right up here in the head time now, for the evening Lights is the promise of the prophet, that it shall be light in the evening time.

Mais il y aura la Lumière au temps du soir. Et le même F-i-l-s, Fils de Dieu, qui s’est levé là-bas à l’est, chez le peuple de l’Orient, qui a manifesté Ses bénédictions et Sa puissance... Ç’a été un jour sombre, mais maintenant sur la côte ouest... Si nous allons plus loin, nous retournons de nouveau en Chine, à l’est, nous retournons aux pays de l’est.
Maintenant, nous sommes sur la côte ouest, et le F-i-l-s apparaît avant Sa Venue. Souvenez-vous, l’apparition et la venue sont deux mots différents. Voyez-vous? Il apparaît maintenant dans l’Eglise, montrant qu’Il est vivant après deux mille ans. «Messieurs, nous voudrions voir Jésus.»
| E-76 Civilization has traveled with the sun. The sun rose in the east, and the same sun, s-u-n, that rises in the east is the same s-u-n that sets in the west. We've had a dismal day, as the Bible said, neither called day nor night--enough to join church, and to do good, and so forth. But it shall be light about the evening time. And the same S-o-n, Son of God, that rose yonder in the east on the eastern people, and showed His blessings and power... It's been a dismal day, but now on the west coast... If we go any farther, we go back to China again to the east, and back to the eastern country.
Now, we're at the west coast, and the S-o-n is appearing before His coming. Remember, appearing and coming is two different words. See? He's appearing now in the church, showing Himself alive after two thousand years. "Sirs, we would see Jesus."

E-77 Maintenant, si vous les croyants... Combien de croyants y a-t-il ici? Si... Je ne peux pas faire cela. Je ne pourrais pas L’apporter. Il faut nous tous ensemble pour le faire. Moi, je suis juste une partie de Lui; et vous, vous êtes une partie de Lui. Mais si vous êtes malade et dans le besoin, moi je suis votre frère. Et eux... Dieu a placé dans l’Eglise... Or, il y a neuf dons spirituels qui opèrent dans chaque corps local; il s’agit des langues, de l’interprétation des langues, des prophéties et ainsi de suite. Mais il y a cinq offices prédestinés dans l’Eglise: les apôtres, les prophètes, les docteurs, les pasteurs et les évangélistes. C’est ce que Dieu a placé dans l’Eglise. Le Saint-Esprit... Ça c’est un office.
Le Saint-Esprit pourrait descendre sur une seule personne ce soir et parler en langues, et descendre sur une autre personne pour donner la prophétie, et–et ainsi de suite. Et ensuite, le soir suivant, il pourrait descendre sur quelqu’un d’autre, puis sur quelqu’un d’autre, comme cela. Il s’agit là des dons dans le corps local pour nous garder en ordre. Mais il y a seulement dans l’Eglise cinq offices: les apôtres (ce qui veut dire les missionnaires), les apôtres, les prophètes, les docteurs, les pasteurs et les évangélistes, ce sont là les dons que Dieu place dans l’Eglise.
Maintenant, croyons de tout notre coeur qu’au travers de ces dons qui sont à l’oeuvre, le Grand Dieu du Ciel enverra Christ parmi nous ce soir, et que nous verrons Jésus. Prions maintenant alors que nous inclinons la tête.
| E-77 Now, if you believers... How many believers is here? If... I could not do it. I cannot bring Him. It takes all of us together to do it. I'm just a part of Him, and you're a part of Him. But if you're sick and needy, I'm your brother. And they... God set in the church... Now, there's nine spiritual gifts goes in each local body, which is tongues, interpretation of tongues, and prophecies, and so forth. But there is five predestinated offices of the church: apostles, prophets, teachers, pastors and evangelists. That's what God set in the church. The Holy Spirit... That's a office.
The Holy Spirit might fall on one tonight and speak in tongues, and the other give the prophecy, and--and so forth. And then next night It might be on somebody else, and somebody else, like that. That's local gifts in the body to keep us straight.
But in the church alone, five offices: apostles (means missionaries), apostles, prophets, teachers, pastors, and evangelists, God sets those in the church.
Now, let's believe with all of our heart that through these ministering gifts that the great God of heaven will send Christ among us tonight, that we'll see Jesus. Let us pray now as we bow our heads.

Et maintenant, si Tu veux tout simplement dire que c’est la Vérité, Seigneur, en confirmant la Parole, alors nous sortirons d’ici ce soir juste comme ceux qui revenaient d’Emmaüs (comme nous l’avons demandé dans notre prière du début), disant: «Nos coeurs ne brûlaient-ils pas au-dedans de nous?»
| E-78 Most gracious Father, to Whom we have come to dwell in His tent, to live here in the great economy of God on earth, and to be led here as it is in heaven, may the Kingdom of God come and the will of God be done among us tonight. Grant it, Father. And... Just a few Words from You, or one Word from You after I've quoted so many of Your promises tonight... But just the people are waiting to see You to say so. Your Word will--will prove it, Father. Now, my words, I can only say what You have said. But now, if You'll just say it's the truth, Lord, by confirming the Word, then we'll go away from here tonight just like they come from Emmaus, as we asked in our former prayer, saying, "Did not our hearts burn within us?"

| E-79 Now, Father, I pray that while we're gathered together in the next few minutes that You'll do these same things among us tonight, that You did two thousand years ago before Your crucifixion, when You was on earth. Then we'll know that You are the same yesterday, today, and forever, and know that there's no power, no time, no age, no nothing can ever kill our risen Christ. He's alive forevermore, and has the keys of death and hell, and pours the waters of Life forth freely, for whosoever will may come and drink. Grant it, Father.
Forgive our sins now, and tuck us around Your side, as it was. Enshroud us with Your Presence, and give us these things that we have talked about tonight in confirmation of Your own Word. In Jesus Christ's Name, we ask it for God's glory, and the up-building of His church, and those who are sojourning around this city. In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen.

Maintenant, je ne veux pas dire qu’on ne doit pas louer le Seigneur. Je crois que (oh! la la!) «s’ils se taisent, les pierres se mettront immédiatement à crier.» Vous voyez? Ils... Je crois dans le fait d’adorer le Seigneur. Mais nous devons venir devant Lui avec révérence, dans Sa Présence.

We come down each day and give out the prayer cards if you want them. The boy gets up here before you; he mixes these prayer cards up and gives them out to anybody that wants them. And then from there, no one knows where we'll call. 'Cause little meetings like this it probably wouldn't make any difference.
But when you have big meetings, so that they rally and push over one another, and everything like that; we don't want that. It's not a... Although it looks like an arena, but it's now dedicated to the Kingdom of God. It's a church. And we're--we're here to have reverence and order. And we're looking for the coming of the Lord Jesus and His Presence among us, and we must be reverent.
Now, I don't mean not praising the Lord. I believe, oh, my, "If they hold their peace, the rocks will immediately cry out." You see? They... I believe in worshipping the Lord. But we must come before Him in reverence in His Presence.

Now, remember, He didn't know what her trouble was, but He said, "Who touched Me? Who touched Me?
And Peter rebuked Him, said, "'Who touched Me?' Well, everybody's touching You."
He said, "But I perceive that virtue..." That's strength. "I got weak." He said, "Virtue's gone from Me. Who touched Me?"
And finally He looked around over the audience till He found the little woman that touched Him. She might be standing way back or over here. And He told her about her blood issue and said her faith had saved her. How many knows that story? All right. Now. Listen close now. Keep it in the Scripture.

Dites: «Je... Seigneur, je crois en Toi, et je veux que Tu me–me guérisses. Je sais que cet homme qui se tient là ne me connaît pas, mais laisse-moi toucher Ton vêtement. Ô Dieu notre Père, aie pitié de moi. Maintenant, cet homme m’a dit que Tu es le même, et que Tu es l’Esprit qui se trouve ici, Celui que nous ne voyons pas. Mais je crois que je suis un croyant, et je T’aime, et laisse-moi toucher Ton vêtement. Alors réponds-nous par notre frère comme Tu avais parlé au travers de Ton Fils. Et–et ensuite je–je... Cela va... cela confirmera la chose pour moi, que Tu es le même Seigneur Jésus.»
Maintenant, ne serait-ce pas doux s’Il faisait cela? Maintenant, croyez cela, et voyez s’Il ne le fera pas. Croyez cela tout simplement.
| E-85 If He is the same yesterday, today, and forever, then the Bible says... These clergymen, your pastors here will... Doesn't the Bible say He's a High Priest right now that can be touched by the feeling of our infirmities? Is that right? Then how would He act? If He's the same High Priest, He'd act the same way. Is that right? Now, how many believes that? He'd act the same way. Then you touch Him with the feeling of your infirmities.
Say, "I... Lord, I believe You, and I want You to--to heal me. I know that man standing there don't know me, but let me touch Your garment. Father God, have mercy upon me. Now, he told me that You was the same, and You're the Spirit that's here, the One we don't see. But I believe that I'm a believer, and I love You, and let me touch Your garment. Then You speak back through our brother like You did through Your Son. And --and then I--I... It'll--it'll confirm it to me that You're the same Lord Jesus."
Now wouldn't that be sweet if He did that? Now, you believe it, and see if He won't do it. You just believe it.

E-86 Maintenant, le premier homme qui s’avance... Voici un homme, eh bien, c’est un homme probablement plus jeune que moi. Je ne le connais pas, je ne l’ai jamais vu de ma vie. C’est juste un homme. Je pense que nous sommes inconnus l’un à l’autre. Et maintenant, afin que cette assistance sache que nous sommes inconnus l’un à l’autre, alors nous allons simplement tenir notre... | E-86 Now, the first man coming... This is a man, now, a man probably younger than I. I don't know him, never seen him in my life. He's just a man. I suppose we're strangers to one another. And now, that the audience might know that we're strangers to one another, just so we hold our... Just raise up your hand just so, see that we are strange to one another.
Now, I've never seen him as far as I know. He might've seen me somewhere in meetings. If he'd been in other meetings, or something, he might've seen me. But to say to know him, I don't. I don't know nothing about him. But God does know him. Now, here's two people meeting for the first time in life.

E-87 Et maintenant, si cet homme est malade, tout ce que je pourrais faire pour l’aider, je–je le ferais sûrement. J’allais–je l’aiderais. Je ferais tout ce qui est en mon pouvoir pour l’aider. Et si je pouvais le guérir, je le ferais certainement sans tarder. Mais la guérison ne se trouve pas en moi. La guérison, c’est quelque chose qui a déjà été accompli. «Par Ses meurtrissures nous avons été guéris.» Chaque péché a été pardonné lorsque Jésus est mort à la croix. Chaque pécheur a été pardonné. Si ce n’était pas le cas, Dieu détruirait le monde en ce moment. C’est le Sang de Jésus-Christ qui agit comme un pare-chocs, qui retient encore le monde maintenant même. Mais un jour ce Sang-là sera ôté.
Et à ce moment-là, si vous mourez dans vos péchés et que vous n’acceptiez pas ce pardon, vous vous tiendrez devant Dieu comme un pécheur. Vous voyez? Mais pour ce qui est de vos péchés, ils vous sont déjà pardonnés; mais il vous faut l’accepter. Et la guérison a déjà été accomplie. «Par Ses meurtrissures,» Pierre a dit: «Nous avons été (au temps passé) guéris.» Maintenant, vous devez accepter votre guérison.
| E-87 And now, if that man was sick, and anything I could do to help him, I--I sure would do it. I'd--I help him. I'd do everything I could to help him. And if I could heal him, I'd certainly do it right quick.
But healing doesn't lay in me. Healing is something that's already been done. "By His stripes we were healed." Every sin was forgiven when Jesus died at the cross. Every sinner was forgiven. If it wouldn't, God would destroy the whole world now. It's the Blood of Jesus Christ like a bumper, that holds the world together right now. But someday that Blood's going to be taken away.
And then, if you die in your sins and don't accept that pardon, you stand before God a sinner. See? But as far as your sins, they're already forgiven you; but you have to accept it. And healing has already been done. "By His stripes," Peter said, "we were (past tense) healed." Now, you've got to accept your healing.

Il se tient simplement là. C’est un homme.
Mais le Saint-Esprit connaît tout ce qui le concerne. Et si le Saint-Esprit peut lui dire ce qui a été (Il saura si c’est vrai ou non), certainement qu’Il peut lui dire ce qui sera. S’Il peut lui dire ce qui a été, il saura si c’est vrai ou pas. Alors il saura que la promesse qu’Il fera s’accomplira parfaitement. Il doit simplement en être ainsi. Croyez-vous cela?

But the Holy Spirit knows all about him. And if the Holy Spirit can tell him what has been, he will know whether that's right or not. Surely, He could tell him what will be. If He can tell him what has been, he know whether it's true or not. Then he'd know what His promise will be, it will be that way. It's just got to be that way. You believe that?

Our heavenly Father, in the Name of Jesus Christ I pray that You make him well. Amen. Now, don't you doubt it. Go believing now. Have faith.
That's all right, lady, come right ahead. All right. You're nervous, got a heart trouble, fluttering, everything, mainly after you eat and lay down. It's really not your heart. It's a nervous condition. If you... You've got a nervous heart. Now, if you believe with all your heart, the thing will stop, won't bother you anymore. You believe that? Then go off your road, say, "Thank You, dear God," and be made well.
It's a blood condition, anemia blood. But you believe that God can give you a transfusion tonight from Calvary? You accept it? Go, believing with all your heart now, and may...?....

J’ai vu quelque chose d’autre se produire là derrière. Cette affection des reins, cela vous a quitté. Oubliez simplement cela.
«Voici les miracles qui accompagneront ceux qui auront cru.» Pendant que le Saint-Esprit est présent maintenant, et que vous désirez être guéri, «voici les miracles qui accompagneront ceux qui auront cru, s’ils imposent les mains aux malades, les malades seront guéris.» Est-ce vrai? I seen something else happen back there. That kidney trouble, it left you. Just forget about it.
"These signs shall follow them that believe." While the Holy Spirit's present now, and you want to be healed, "These signs shall follow them that believe: If they lay their hands on the sick, they shall recover." Is that right? Now, you lay your hands on somebody setting next to you. Just lay your hands over on somebody setting next to you. Now, don't you pray for yourself; you pray for them, 'cause they're praying for you. See? And let's pray now that God will heal everybody in the place.

| E-105 Our heavenly Father, I'm offering my prayer for these who are here tonight that is in need. They have their hands laid on each other. Thou art ever present to heal. We could not doubt You, Lord, no more. You are here. We know that them people could not do that; neither could I do that. We're all aware that it's God among us, the great Father God in the form of the Holy Ghost. The great Jehovah is in our midst.
He said when He was here in the form of the Lord Jesus, He said, "These signs shall follow them that believe. If they lay their hands on the sick, they shall recover. The prayer of faith shall save the sick, and God shall raise them up. If they have did sin, it shall be forgiven them."

E-106 Ô Dieu du Ciel, pardonne-nous notre incrédulité. Nous savons que c’est le seul péché qui existe, le péché d’incrédulité. Et que le Saint-Esprit vienne sur chaque personne maintenant même à tel point qu’il ne puisse plus douter à cause de la Présence de Christ ce soir, se montrant vivant après deux mille ans, la Parole, Lui-même se tenant ici au milieu de nous, en nous, manifestant Sa Parole.
Satan, toi qui as rendu ces gens malades, toi qui as nui à leurs corps, toi qui les as affligés, tu es un être vaincu. Notre Seigneur Jésus t’a vaincu au Calvaire. Tu es vaincu. Tu n’as plus aucune puissance du tout. Et nous venons, croyant avec notre foi ouverte devant Dieu. Quitte chacun d’eux. Au Nom de Jésus-Christ, sors de cette assistance. Et puissent-ils rentrer chez eux étant délivrés de toute maladie et de toutes les afflictions.
| E-106 O God of heaven, forgive our unbelief. We know that's the only sin there is, the sin of unbelief. And may the Holy Spirit come so upon each person just now that they'll no more disbelieve because of the Presence of Christ tonight, showing Himself alive after two thousand years, the Word Himself standing here among us, in us, making His Word manifest.
Satan, you who have made these people sick, injured their bodies, afflicted them, you are a defeated being. Our Lord Jesus Christ defeated you at Calvary. You are defeated. You have no power at all. And we come believing with our faith open before God. Leave every one of them. In the Name of Jesus Christ, come out of this audience. And may they go home and be free from all sickness and afflictions.

I'm not very much to persuade. If the Holy Spirit can't convince with His works, then there's no need of me persuading. But if you... If you're conscious that you're not right with God, and you would desire us to pray for you, we're here to do that. We are the public servant of the Lord Jesus Christ. In this little arena here tonight where basketball perhaps is played, and drills of the army, you're also drilling and training soldiers tonight, Lord, of the great salvation army of God, drilling them in faith to believe, as to go out of here as real soul winners, that'll get on the phone, and ring the neighborhood, and get the people in, bring them in, those who are not Christians, those who are sick and afflicted.
Father, I pray that every person that comes into this room that's sick or afflicted will be healed; and every sinner that passes through these doors will have no peace at all until they come to You; that every believer that comes in these doors will be baptized with the Holy Ghost, and great signs and wonders might be done, Lord. Great signs and wonders are taking place, ministers preaching, crying their hearts out, pastors a pleading and begging, great wonders being done by the Holy Ghost throughout the world: healings, signs, wonders...

| E-112 God, You never send these things... You never send a judgment before first You send warning, and we see that the warning signal is down. The red light's a flashing. O God, may men and women be concerned about one another; may they be concerned about this untoward generation of people that's perishing, going out from the way here without knowing God, will die in sin. And, oh, how--what a horrible thing it'll be that day when they hear the weeping and wailing. There'll never be another opportunity they'll ever see.
Father, if the President come to this city tonight, the flags would be up, the flowers would be strowed through the streets, and--and there'd be a great big celebration. But Lord, You come to the city in the form of the Holy Spirit, and, O God, You have to seek, and pull, and beg, and persuade for people to get ready to go to heaven. What a day that we're living in, Lord.
