E-2 Notre Père céleste, nous nous approchons encore de Toi ce soir, Tu ne te fatigueras jamais d’écouter l’appel de Tes enfants, Tu es toujours disposé à répondre, seulement Tu demandes une seule chose: Que nous croyons que nous recevons ce que nous avons demandé. Nous Te prions, Seigneur, de dissiper toute ombre de doute ce soir par Ton glorieux Saint-Esprit, par Ta Parole. Nous Te prions d’exaucer chaque requête. Et nous savons que nous obtenons l’objet de nos requêtes, car nous croyons en Celui qui a promis cela.
Et maintenant, Père céleste, nous Te prions de sauver les pécheurs, de guérir les malades, de fortifier l’église, et de tirer gloire pour Toi-même. Aide-moi ce soir, Seigneur, à être un vase que Dieu utilisera. Aide tout le monde ici, afin qu’il en soit de même pour eux. Nous le demandons au Nom de Jésus. Amen. Vous pouvez vous asseoir.
| E-2 Our heavenly Father, we're approaching Thee again tonight, never to be tired of listening to Your children's call, always willing to answer, only asking one thing: that we will believe that we receive what we ask for. We pray, Lord, that You'll move every shadow of doubt tonight by Thy great Holy Spirit in Thy Word. We pray that You'll answer every request. And we know that we have our request, because we believe Him Who promised it.
And now, heavenly Father, we pray that You'll save sinners, heal the sick, strengthen the church, get glory unto Thyself. Help me tonight, Lord, that I might be a vessel that'll be used of God. Help everyone here, that they'll be likewise. We ask it in Jesus' Name. Amen. May be seated.

E-3 Je vois les gens déposer maintenant des mouchoirs ici à l’estrade, à la chaire plutôt, pour–pour qu’on prie dessus. Nous croyons en cela. C’est l’un de nos grands ministères, prier sur les mouchoirs et autres, pour les–les malades et les affligés. Nous croyons que c’est scripturaire, nous croyons que c’est un commandement. Un exemple: Paul priait sur les mouchoirs et les tissus, on les envoyait aux malades, et ces derniers étaient guéris.
| E-3 See the people placing handkerchiefs now upon the platform here, upon the pulpit, rather, for--to be prayed over. We believe in that. That's one of our great ministries, is praying over the handkerchiefs and so forth, for the--the sick and the afflicted. We believe that it's the Scripture, believe that that's the commandment. An example: Paul prayed over handkerchiefs and aprons, sent them to the sick, and they were healed.

E-4 Je me rappelle une fois en Afrique du Sud, j’avais un... J’ai vu cela dans... Je pense que la photo se trouve dans le livre où nous avions un très grand... ce que nous appelons ici en Amérique des sacs d’emballage en toile, pleins de courriers de la journée, rien que des mouchoirs, plusieurs milliers de mouchoirs. Et je priais là-dessus. Alors, un journaliste a dit: «Frère Branham est très superstitieux. Il prie–prie sur les mouchoirs.» Cela montre simplement que les gens ne connaissent pas les Ecritures, quelle–quelle conception charnelle ils peuvent se faire de l’oeuvre de Dieu (Voyez-vous?), lorsqu’ils ne connaissent pas cela.
| E-4 I remember one time in South Africa I had a... Noticed it in... I believe the picture's in the book where we had great big what we call burlap sacks here in America, just full of mail of the day of just handkerchiefs alone, several thousands of them. And I was praying over them, and the reporter said, "Brother Branham is very superstitious. He prays--prays over handkerchiefs." It just shows how the people that doesn't know the Scripture, what a--what a carnal conception they can have of the work of God (You see?), when they don't know it.

E-5 J’étais à Rome. J’étais là, je regardais ce qu’un artiste grec avait peint, la–la conception qu’il se faisait d’Adam et Ève dans le jardin d’Eden. Et quelle conception! Oh! la la! Ève paraissait comme une espèce d’animal préhistorique. Et Adam, jamais de ma vie je n’avais vu pareille chose. Cela montre simplement ce que l’esprit charnel peut concevoir, quand il n’est pas converti vers la gloire de Dieu. Je pense qu’Ève était la femme la plus jolie qui ait jamais vécu sur terre (C’est vrai.); en effet, elle était fraîchement créée des mains de Dieu, non affectée par aucun péché; Adam, c’était l’homme le plus parfait qui ait pu vivre en dehors de Christ (En effet, Il était le second Adam), l’homme le plus parfait.
Mais l’esprit charnel peut concevoir une pensée, qu’il avait une très grosse tête, et une épaule relevée et l’autre baissée, et qu’Ève avait une jambe petite, et l’autre très grosse et, oh! des cheveux qui pendaient, une bouche placée en biais. Eh bien, oh! la la! je ne peux pas m’imaginer le Saint-Esprit reproduire jamais quelque chose du genre. Mais cela montre l’esprit charnel, lorsqu’il aborde cela.
| E-5 I was in Rome. I was down in, and looking at where a Greek artist had painted the--the conception of the--Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden. And such a conception, my, Eve looked like some kind of a prehistoric animal. And Adam, I never seen such a thing in my life. It just goes to show that what the carnal mind can draw up, when it's not converted to the glory of God. I believe Eve was the prettiest woman that ever lived on the earth (That's right.), because she was freshly made by the hands of God without any sin to touch; Adam, the most perfect man that could've lived outside of Christ ('cause He was the second Adam, the most perfect man).
But the carnal mind can draw up a thought that he was a head so big, and one shoulder up, and the other one down, and Eve one leg little, and the other one great big, and oh, hair hanging down, her mouth setting sideways. Well, my, I couldn't think the Holy Spirit ever producing something like that. But it shows the carnal mind when it gets into it.

E-6 C’est dans ce sens qu’évolueront nos esprits, si nous les laissons s’éloigner de la Parole de Dieu, par des conceptions charnelles. Ma fille ici ce soir, elle disait aujourd’hui (Elle essayait de me berner.), elle disait: «J’ai L’Ethique de Darwin ici, j’aimerais que tu lises cela, papa.»
J’ai dit: «Merci. J’avais lu ça il y a des années. Une fois, c’est assez.» Mais cette vieille Bible, nous n’En avons jamais assez, cela ne fait que s’enfoncer dans la gloire de Dieu.
| E-6 That's the way our minds will run in the same way, if we let it get off the Word of God in them carnal conceptions. My daughter here tonight, she said today (She was trying to pull one on me.), she said, "I have 'The Ethics of Darwin' here; I'd like for you to read, daddy."
I said, "Thank you. I did years ago. One time's enough of that." But this old Bible, we never get enough of it, just soaking it in to the glory of God.

E-7 Je regrette que toute l’église n’ait pas pu être à notre petit-déjeuner ce matin. Quelle merveilleuse communion nous avons eue! Le glorieux Saint-Esprit nous a visité et nous a donné un message qui, oh! c’était un moment extraordinaire de communion autour des choses de Dieu.
Et je sais que je vous ai gardés un peu tard hier soir, et peut-être que je deviens un peu fatigué. Ceci est ma neuvième réunion d’affilée, et je m’attends à un petit repos après deux autres réunions. Mais je vais essayer de vous laisser sortir un peu tôt ce soir, car je sais que vous êtes des travailleurs, vous devez retourner à votre travail, et je ne–je n’aimerais pas vous garder.
Mais je suis content de voir même un enregistreur dans la foule ce soir. Cela témoigne de l’intérêt. Et, amis, c’est extraordinaire aujourd’hui, parce que nous savons tous... nous devons savoir ceci, que le réveil est terminé. Nous le savons. Les feux baissent, et l’intérêt des gens dépérit.
| E-7 I'm sorry that the whole church this morning couldn't have been to our breakfast. What a wonderful fellowship we had. The blessed Holy Spirit visited us and gave us a Message that, oh, was such a dandy time of fellowship around the things of God.
And I know I kept you a little late last night, and I'm maybe getting a little tired. This is my ninth straight meeting, and I have a little rest coming after two more meetings. But I'm going to try to let you out a little early tonight, 'cause I know you're working men, you have to go back to your work, and I don't--and don't want to keep you.
But I'm glad to see even a pick-up in the crowd tonight. It shows the interest. And friends, that's outstanding today, because we all know--we just have to know this--the revival's over. We know that. The fires are burning low, and the interest of the people is drying up.

E-8 Voyez, nous avons eu un réveil qui a duré des années. L’histoire montre qu’un–un homme, un évangéliste, généralement, fait de tout son mieux pendant les trois premières années. Et après cela, il vit de la réputation de ce qu’il avait prêché pendant ces trois années. Ainsi donc, un réveil ne dure pas très longtemps. Mais celui-ci continue depuis quinze ans, car c’est le dernier réveil, je pense, et nous sommes juste au temps de la fin. Je crois que la chose suivante, ce sera faire sortir l’Eglise, les élus, à partir des groupes, et les rassembler, et Elle s’en ira. Ainsi donc, nous attendons que cela arrive.
Mais nous pouvons voir les feux du réveil baisser, l’intérêt des gens. Tout le monde est fatigué, il s’endort. L’intérêt a disparu. Et de voir ce grand intérêt parmi les gens, cela dans... cela me ravit de savoir qu’il y a encore un feu qui brûle ici dans l’Oregon. Que Dieu vous bénisse donc. Attisons-le ce soir de toutes nos forces avec la Parole. Et la Parole, quand vous attisez, Elle produira le Saint-Esprit, le vent impétueux qui fera encore brûler le feu. Que Dieu l’accorde.
Et maintenant, pour gagner du temps... C’est si agréable de vous parler. Je peux vous parler pendant des heures, mais je–je dois veiller et gagner ce temps. Dans quelques instants, après que j’aurai terminé de parler, je vais prier pour ces... sur ces mouchoirs. Et vous êtes toujours les bienvenus, de les apporter. Nous sommes contents de faire cela.
| E-8 See, we had a revival, lasted for years. History shows that a--a man, an evangelist, usually his best part is his first three years, and after that he lives on the reputation of what he preached in them three years. And then, a revival doesn't last very long. But this has been going for some fifteen years, 'cause it's the last revival, I believe, and we're right at the end time. I believe the next will be pulling the church, the elect, from the groups and taking them together, and away It'll go. And so, we're looking for that to happen.
But we can see the revival fires burning down low, the interest of the people. Everybody's tired, going to sleep. Interest is gone. And to see this much interest amongst the people, it in--it thrills me, and know that there's still fire burning around here in Oregon. God ever bless you. Let's fan it tonight just as hard as we can with the Word. And the Word, when you fan, It'll produce the Holy Spirit, the rushing mighty wind that'll start the fire burning again. May God grant it.
And now, to conserve the time... You're so nice to talk to. I could talk to you for hours, but I--I just got to watch and conserve this time. In a few moments, after I get through speaking, I'll pray for these--over these handkerchiefs. And you're always welcome to bring them up. We're happy to do it.

E-9 Maintenant, nous aimerions que vous preniez ce soir des notes que j’ai ici, sous forme d’un petit... Ce que je suis... aimerais faire, j’essaie de faire (Ce n’est pas un secret.), c’est essayer d’édifier la foi dans les gens au point où nous pourrons atteindre un grand apogée et qu’il se produise quelque chose de réel, qui secouera toute la contrée.
Eh bien, nous avons fait cela par la grâce de Dieu à Grass Valley, là où il n’est resté personne de faible au milieu de toute l’assemblée, dans ce grand auditorium-là; il n’en est resté aucune. Je n’avais point prié pour les malades. J’ai simplement continué à édifier la foi, j’avais simplement continué avec la Parole, dans la simplicité de la Parole, à ma manière simple de présenter cela. Mais les gens ont continué à bien s’y accrocher et ils ont continué à bien s’y accrocher. Et puis, le moment glorieux est arrivé. Et juste tout dans la salle s’est levé.
Et cela s’est répété aussi à Spokane, l’autre soirée, quand tout le devant était plein de gens sur des fauteuils roulants, des cas de brancards, et des choses semblables. Et le Saint-Esprit a parcouru complètement toute une rangée, délivrant tout le monde au fur et à mesure qu’Il arrivait à cela, tout du long comme cela. La... Ils étaient couchés là dans ces fauteuils roulants, et ils avaient tenu jusqu’au bout, ils écoutaient, s’accrochant à cette foi-là, s’en saisissant, sondant et découvrant. Et puis peu après, tout d’un coup, le Saint-Esprit s’est juste déversé, Il a directement parcouru la rangée comme cela, et eux tous se sont directement levés et ils sont partis. Voyez? Voyez?
| E-9 Now, we want you to turn tonight on some notes that I have here, in a way of a little... What I'm--want to do, trying to do (It's no secret.), is to try to build a faith in the people to where we can have a great climax and something really take place that'll stir the whole country.
Now, we did that by the grace of God at Grass Valley, where there wasn't one feeble person left in the midst of the whole congregation in that big auditorium: wasn't one. I never prayed for the sick. I just kept building faith, just kept on with the Word, in the simplicity of the Word, in the simple way I have of putting it. But the people just hung right on and stayed right on. And then the great time come. And just everything in the building lifted up.
And it was that way again at Spokane the other night, when the whole front was laying full of wheelchairs, and stretcher cases, and things like that. And completely down that row went the Holy Spirit, delivering every one just as It come to it, right along like that. There... They laid there in those wheelchairs and sweated it out and everything, listening, holding on to that faith, just grasping it, and searching, and finding out. And then after while, all at once the Holy Spirit dropped right down, come right down the row like that, and every one of them got right up and walked away. See, see?

E-10 Le problème avec nous en est que nous sommes trop pressés. Ça doit se faire tout de suite, on ne peut plus revenir. Voyez? Et quand vous vous mettez cela à l’esprit (Voyez?), que... vous allez perdre cela là même. Vous êtes–vous êtes sur le terrain des perdants là même. Vous–vous n’avez pas de fondement. Vous devez être patients. «Ceux qui se confient en l’Eternel renouvellent leur force. Ils prennent le vol comme un aigle.» Je–j’aime ça. Soyez donc patients. Attendez.
Dieu n’est pas pressé. Il a laissé les enfants hébreux entrer droit dans la fournaise ardente avant qu’Il bouge un doigt. C’est vrai. Et Il a laissé Daniel entrer droit dans la fosse aux lions, Il a laissé Jésus aller droit dans la tombe, Son âme descendre dans le séjour des morts, ensuite Il L’a ressuscité, passant par les abîmes sans fond, Le faisant passer par la tombe, Il a bloqué chaque avenue du diable, et Il est allé droit dans la Gloire avec cela. Voyez? Assurément. Il n’est pas pressé. Il est Dieu. Voyez? Donc, Il... Nous devenons simplement pressés, c’est l’unique chose. Voyez? Nous ratons cela.
Ne soyez donc pas pressé. Attendez et observez; écoutez. Prenez les Ecritures, examinez-Les, voyez si c’est vrai. Et si c’est vrai, accrochez-vous-Y. Si ce n’est pas vrai, dites-le-moi afin que je puisse corriger cela.
Ainsi, nous–nous voyons que chaque oeuvre doit être l’oeuvre du Saint-Esprit. Cela doit être Son oeuvre. C’est la Sienne. Et cela doit provenir de la Bible. Nous ne devons rien déduire d’une conception ou d’un raisonnement. Nous devons déduire cela de la Bible.
| E-10 The trouble of it, with we people, we're in too much of a hurry. It's just got to be done right now, can't come back no more. See? And when you get that in your mind (See?), that--you're going to lose right there. You're--you're on losing grounds right there. You--you have nothing to stand on. You must be patient. "They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength and mount up with wings like an eagle." I--I like that. Just be patient. Wait.
God's in no hurry. He let the Hebrew children walk right into the fiery furnace before He ever turned a finger. That's right. And let Daniel go right into the lion's den, let Jesus go plumb into the grave, and His soul descend into hell, then raised Him right up through the bottomless pits, right on out through the grave, and cut every avenue of the devil off, and went straight into glory with it. See? Sure. He's in no hurry. He's God. See? He just... We just get in a hurry, is the only thing. You see? We miss it.
So don't be in a hurry. Wait and watch; listen. Take the Scripture, examine It, see if It's right. And if It's right, hold on to it. If it's not, tell me so I can get it right.
So we--we see that every work must be the Holy Spirit's work. It must be His work. It's His. And it must come out of the Bible. We mustn't draw anything from some conception or reasoning. We must draw it from the Bible.

| E-12 I was looking over there in one of my briefcase today, and I think of little texts of so forth, of tapes that's been made around five hundred sermons or messages the Lord has given me out of His Word to place. And then tonight... To come to a platform it takes prayer and study. I think any man ought to hide hisself away in the--come out of a--his study in the freshness of God to meet the congregation.

E-13 Je me suis souvent demandé ce que je ferais si j’avais deux gouttes du Sang littéral de Jésus-Christ dans un–un récipient, un verre. Oh! Comme je marcherais avec beaucoup d’attention en tenant Cela, me rassurant de ne pas renverser Cela. Mais vous savez, ce soir à Ses yeux, j’ai plus que Cela entre mes mains: les rachetés par Son Sang. Il a versé Son Sang pour vous. Comment dois-je donc tenir Ceci? Voyez, c’est une grande responsabilité, sachant que j’aurai à répondre au jour du Jugement pour chaque parole. Ainsi donc, par conséquent, abordons Cela avec beaucoup de révérence.
| E-13 I've often wondered what I would do if I had two drops of the literal Blood of Jesus Christ in a--in a charger, glass. How I'd walk real careful with It to be sure that I did not spill It. But you know, tonight in His sight, I have a greater in my hand: the purchase of His Blood. He shed His Blood for you. So how must I handle This? See, it's a great responsibility, knowing that I'll have to answer at the day of judgment for every word. And so therefore, let's approach It real reverently.

Mais elle vint se prosterner devant lui, disant: Seigneur, secours-moi!
Il répondit: Il n’est pas bien de prendre le pain des enfants, et de le jeter aux petits chiens.
Oui, Seigneur, dit-elle, mais les petits chiens mangent les miettes qui tombent de la table de leurs maîtres.
Alors Jésus lui dit: Femme, ta foi est grande; qu’il te soit fait comme tu veux. Et, à l’heure-même, sa fille fut guérie.
J’aimerais prendre, ou tirer de là un sujet, si je devais ainsi l’intituler, pour environ trente minutes rien que pour parler, j’aimerais prendre un mot que j’aimerais utiliser pour édifier un... le contexte autour de cela, et c’est le mot Persévérant. Eh bien, persévérant, c’est... ça veut dire être persistant. Et Webster dit que c’est être–être tenace, tenace à atteindre un but, tenace dans ce qu’on fait.
| E-14 Turn in to your Bible now, so we can read some of His Word. My words will fail, because they're man's word. His Words will never fail. So just read in the Word... Let's turn to Matthew the 15th chapter and begin with the 21st verse, if you will.
Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre of Sidon.
And behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coast, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David, my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.
But he answered her not a word. And His disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away, for she crieth after us.
But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Then come she and worshipped him, saying, Lord help me.
But he answered and said, It's not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs.
... she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat... the crumbs which fall from their masters' table.
Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is Thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.
I want to take, or draw a text from that, if I should call it that, for about thirty minutes but to speak. I want to take one word that I'd like to use to build a--the context around it, and that's the word of "Perseverant." Now, "perseverant" is to--means "to be persistent." And Webster says that it's to be--to be persistent, persistent in making a goal, persistent in what you're doing.

E-15 Les hommes de tous les âges qui ont eu foi dans tout ce qu’ils cherchaient à réaliser ont été tenaces. Vous devez être tenace. Vous ne pouvez pas simplement vous tenir en retrait et dire: «Eh bien, je vais voir ce que Joe fait à ce sujet.» Vous ne pouvez pas faire cela. Et avant que vous puissiez être tenace, il vous faut avoir foi dans ce que vous cherchez à réaliser. Et si vous n’avez pas foi, alors vous ne serez pas tenace.
Eh bien, des hommes de tous les âges ont essayé cela, mais... et ils ont été tenaces. Mais ce que vous avez... Pour être tenace, premièrement, il faut avoir la foi, et ensuite, vous devez savoir de quelle source vous tirez votre foi.
Eh bien, beaucoup d’hommes ont été tenace dans une mauvaise chose, et ils ont toujours mal fini. Nimrod voulait construire une tour. Il a été tenace, mais il ne l’a jamais terminée. Nebucadnetsar voulait une cité immortelle, mais il ne l’a–ne l’a jamais achevée. Mais vous voyez, vous... La première chose que vous devez faire pour être tenace, c’est vous mettre en ordre.
| E-15 Men of all ages that has faith in what they are trying to achieve has been persistent. You have to be persistent. You cannot just set back and say, "Well, I'll see what Joe does about it." You can't do that. And before you can be persistent, you have to have faith in what you are trying to achieve. And if you haven't got the faith, then you will not be persistent.
Now, men through all ages has tried that, but--and has been persistent. But what you've got... To be persistent, first, is to have faith, and then you've got to know from what source you're drawing your faith from.
Now, many men has been persistent in the wrong thing, and they've always come out wrong. Nimrod wanted to build a tower. He was persistent, but he never got to finish it. Nebuchadnezzar wanted an immortal city, but he didn't--he didn't ever achieve it. But you see, you--first thing you've got to do to be persistent is to get set straight and right.

E-16 Il y a quelque temps, un précieux ami à moi, un médecin, est venu chez moi, un homme très bien. Si vous voulez lui écrire à ce sujet, son nom est docteur Sam Adair, au coin de Wall et de la rue Maple, ou Wall et la rue Market, Jeffersonville, Indiana. Il a une clinique. C’est un très bon ami à moi. Nous avons fréquenté l’école ensemble, de petits garçons, l’un des meilleurs médecins que nous avons à l’Est.
La maison était pleine de gens pour qui je devais prier, les gens affluaient, ils affluaient de partout pour que je prie pour eux. Et ma femme est venue et a dit: «Billy, docteur Adair est ici.»
J’ai dit: «Installe-le dans mon bureau. Nous avons des gens dans ces autres pièces qui... installe-le au bureau. Je serai avec lui aussitôt que possible.»
Il y avait là un homme qui venait de l’église baptiste de Walnut Street à Louisville, souffrant d’un cancer de rate. On avait opéré, ça n’avait pas marché, cet homme se mourrait. Et il a été sauvé et guéri du cancer. Je traitais avec lui en ce temps-là pour voir ce que le Seigneur me dirait à son sujet.
| E-16 Some time ago a precious friend of mine, a doctor, he came up to my house, very fine man. If you'd like to write to him about this, name's Dr. Sam Adair, corner of Wall and Maple Street, or Wall and Market Street, Jeffersonville, Indiana. He has a clinic. A very good friend of mine; we're school boys together, one of the finest doctors we got in the east.
And the house was full of people being prayed for, and people coming in, and how they come in from everywhere to be prayed for. And my wife come back, and she said, "Billy, Dr. Adair is here."
I said, "Put him in the den room. We got people in these other rooms that... Put him in the den room. I'll be with him as soon as I can."
And there was a man there from the Walnut Street Baptist church in Louisville, with cancer in the spleen. They'd taken this operation, was no good, the man was dying. And he was saved and healed with the cancer. I was dealing with him at the time to see what the Lord would speak to me about him.

E-17 Ainsi donc, quand nous sommes entré pour voir le petit docteur Sam, il était assis là, mains jointes, un homme simplement très bien. Ainsi donc, il a dit: «Bill, j’aimerais te poser une question.» Il a dit: «Que penses-tu de cette ville? Ne trouves-tu pas qu’elle a besoin d’une clinique?»
Et j’ai dit: «Certainement, n’importe quelle ville a besoin d’une clinique, de bons médecins.» Il a dit: «Eh bien, je pense que cette ville en a besoin.»
J’ai dit: «Moi aussi, Sam.»
Et il a dit: «Eh bien, a-t-il dit, penses-tu que je sois digne de–d’avoir–d’avoir cette clinique?»
Et j’ai dit: «T’attends-tu à cela?»
Et il a dit: «Oui.»
J’ai dit: «Je ne connais aucun autre médecin dont je préférerais dire que–que je pensais qu’il était digne d’avoir cela.» Eh bien, c’est un petit gars rude, un dur à cuir, mais il est... Je l’ai toujours taxé d’une tortue; il est doux à l’intérieur, mais d’un abord difficile. C’est juste une coquille dans laquelle il se retire. Dieu connaît le coeur d’un homme. Tout le monde aurait dit que Saul de Tarse était aussi un homme dur, mais Dieu connaissait son coeur. L’église avait choisi–avait choisi Matthias, mais nous avons vu que Dieu a choisi Saul, le petit Juif au nez crochu, au tempérament colérique pour... Il n’y avait rien pour faire de lui quelque chose.
| E-17 So then, when we went in to see little Dr. Sam, he was setting in there with his hands folded, just a very fine man. He was, well, the doctor had brought Billy Paul, and my son, and so forth. We were very good friends. He eat at my house and so forth. We just bosom friends.
And he said, "Bill, I want to ask you something." Now, we know one another well enough till I don't have to call him "Doctor." I just call him "Sam," and he calls me "Bill." And so he said, "Bill, I want to ask you something." Said, "What do you think about this city? Don't you think it needs a clinic?"
And I said, "Sure, any city needs a clinic, good doctors."
He said, "Well, I believe this city needs it."
I said, "I do too, Sam."
And he said, "Well," he said, "do you think I'm worthy to--to have--to have this clinic?"
And I said, "Are you figuring on it?"
And he said, "Yes."
I said, "I don't know any other doctor that I would rather say that--that I thought was worthy of having it." Now, he's a rough, hard boiled little fellow, but he's... I always called him a turtle; he's soft on the inside, but hard on the out. It's just a shell he pulls hisself back in. God knows the heart of a man. Everybody would've said Saul of Tarsus was a hard man too, but God knowed his heart. The church choose--chose Matthias, but we found out that God took Saul, the little hook nose, high-tempered Jew to--was nothing to make something out of him.

E-18 Eh bien, ainsi donc, cet homme a dit: «Bien, je veux cette clinique.» Et il a dit: «Tu sais, Bill, que je–je suis... je veux servir le Seigneur, a-t-il dit, mais je suis simplement trop minable.»
J’ai dit: «Oh! Je ne sais pas ça.»
Il a dit: «Mais je–j’essaie, dans mon travail, de faire ce que je peux pour le Seigneur.» Il a dit: «Je–je–je... Il y a de ces gens de couleur qui viennent.» Il a dit: «Ils ont besoin d’interventions chirurgicales et ils n’ont pas d’argent.» Il a dit: «Tu sais, j’opère.» Et c’est vrai. Tout celui qui n’a pas d’argent, il va de l’avant, il fait de toute façon le travail. C’est un chirurgien célèbre.
Et j’ai dit: «Eh bien, oh! je–je crois cela.»
Il a dit: «J’aimerais te demander quelque chose.» Il a dit: «Peux-tu demander au Seigneur pour moi?»
Et j’ai dit: «Oui, assurément.»
Il a dit: «J’ai un petit sens... Où penses-tu que cette clinique devrait être construite?»
J’ai dit: «Je ne sais pas.» J’ai dit: «Si tu étais là dans une autre ville, c’est une contrée exposée à l’inondation, on a construit une digue.» J’ai dit: «J’occuperais ce côté-ci de la digue.»
Il a dit: «Oui.»
J’ai dit: «Eh bien, il y a un terrain, une très vaste place là dans tel coin.»
Il a dit: «Bon, a-t-il dit, l’entrepreneur des pompes funèbres a déjà pris cette place-là. On est en train de construire une pompe funèbre.»
Et j’ai dit: «Eh bien, ai-je dit, qu’en est-il donc de là où il y avait la compagnie pétrolière Pfau?»
Il a dit: «Cela a été pris. On va y ériger une crèmerie.» Il a dit: «J’avais un lieu idéal, Bill, mais, a-t-il dit, quelqu’un a acheté cela avant moi, a-t-il dit, une dame du Kentucky avancée en âge.» Il a dit: «C’est là qu’il y avait l’ancienne école d’administration, là.» Et il a dit: «Je connais un vieil homme qui est un peu gentil envers elle.» Et il a dit: «Tu sais quoi? Je pense que si je peux lui donner environ trois cents dollars, et vous pouvez...» Il a dit: «Elle a acheté cela à six mille dollars.» Il a dit: «Je vais lui donner environ trois cents dollars pour–pour qu’il l’amène à me vendre cela, et je lui donnerai, à elle dix pour cela.»
Et j’ai dit: «Eh bien, Sam, regarde ça. On ne corrompt Dieu en rien.» J’ai dit: «Si tu vas parler à Dieu, nous devons présenter cela ici même sans problèmes. Il n’y a pas du tout de corruption à ce sujet.» J’ai dit: «Nous ne pouvons simplement pas faire cela avec Dieu.»
Il a dit: «Eh bien, je ne voulais pas le dire comme cela, Bill. Mais c’est un bon terrain.»
| E-18 Now, and so this man said, "Well, I want this clinic." And said, "You know, Bill, that I--I'm--I want to serve the Lord," he said, "but I'm just too mean."
I said, "Oh, I don't know about that."
He said, "But I--I try in my work to do what I can for the Lord." He said, "I--I--I... There's some of those colored people come up." Said, "They need operations, and they haven't got no money." Said, "You know I operate." And that's true. Anybody that hasn't got the money, he goes ahead, does the work anyhow. He's a famous surgeon.
And I said, "Well, oh, I--I believe that."
He said, "I want to ask you something." Said, "Could you ask the Lord for me?"
And I said, "Yeah, sure."
He said, "I got a little sense... Where do you think that clinic ought to be built?"
I said, "I don't know." I said, "If you was back up another place, that's a flood country, and they built a flood wall." I said, "I'd get this side of the flood wall."
He said, "Yes."
I said, "Well, there's a lot, a big place up here on a certain corner."
He said, "Well," he said, "the undertaker's done got that place. They're building a undertaker establishment."
And I said, "Well," I said, "then what about down there where the old Pfau Oil Company was?"
He said, "That's taken up. They're going to put an ice cream place in there." He said, "I've got an ideal place, Bill," but said, "somebody bought it ahead of me," said, "some elderly lady in Kentucky." Said, "It's where the old departmental school was down here."
And said, "I know an old man's kind of sweet on her." And said, "You know what? I believe if I could give him about three hundred bucks, and you would..." Said, "She bought it for six thousand dollars." Said, "I'll give him about three hundred dollars to--to get her to sell it to me, and I'll give her ten for it."
And I said, "Now, Sam, looky here. You ain't bribing God on nothing." I said, "If you're going to talk to God, we got to lay it out right here smooth. There's no bribing about it at all." I said, "We just can't do that with God."
He said, "Well, I didn't mean it that way, Bill. But that's a dandy lot."

E-19 J’ai dit: «Comment... J’aimerais que vous fassiez ceci. Confions simplement cela à Dieu et voyons ce que Dieu dira à ce sujet.»
Il a dit: «D’accord.»
J’ai dit: «Eh bien, sortez de ce fauteuil et retournez-vous.» Il l’a donc fait. Et nous–nous nous sommes agenouillés là et nous avons prié un moment. Nous nous sommes attendus au Seigneur pendant environ quinze, vingt minutes. Peu après, une vision est apparue.
J’ai dit: «Docteur, lève-toi.» J’ai dit: «Tu as trouvé grâce aux yeux de Dieu. Tu vas construire ton–ton bâtiment, ta clinique. Ça sera un long bâtiment. Il sera en briques rouges, avec un plafond bas. Et il occupera pratiquement un pâté de maisons.» Et il m’a regardé de façon très étrange. Et j’ai dit: «Ça ne sera pas à l’école de l’Administration. Oublie ça. Ça sera construit au coin de Wall et de la rue Market, là où se trouve cette vieille grande maison en retrait sur cette colline-là.»
Il a dit: «Juste une minute, Bill.» Il a dit: «Je me rappelle que tu m’as parlé de Bill Hall.» Je n’ai pas le temps d’aborder cela, au sujet de... Il l’avait étendu là, il se mourait du cancer, son foie avait été rongé, et tous les spécialistes se tenaient là. Et j’allais à la chasse à l’écureuil ce matin-là, j’ai regardé et j’ai vu en vision monsieur Hall. Je suis allé l’appeler. J’ai dit: «Monsieur Hall vivra.»
Il a dit: «Le vieux médecin devra voir cela.»
Il vit ce soir, il prêche à l’église baptiste de Milltown. Alors...
| E-19 I said, "How... I want you do this? Let's just commit it to God and see what God will say about it."
He said, "All right."
I said, "Well, get out of the chair and turn around." So he did. And we--we got down there and prayed awhile. We waited on the Lord about fifteen, twenty minutes. After while the vision come.
I said, "Doctor, stand up." I said, "You have found grace with God. You're going to build your--your place, your clinic. It'll be a long building; it'd be made out of red brick, low top. And it'll almost take in a city block." And he looked at me real strange. And I said, "It will not be at the departmental school. Forget that. It's going to be built on the corner of Wall and Market Street, where that big old house sets back on that hill."
He said, "Just a minute, Bill." He said, "I remember you telling me about Bill Hall." I haven't got time to go into that about... He laid him out to be dead with cancer, done eat his liver up, and all the specialists standing around. And I was going squirrel hunting that morning, looked, and saw a vision of Mr. Hall. And I went and called him. I said, "Mr. Hall will live."
He said, "The old doctor will have to see that."
He's living tonight, preaching at the Milltown Baptist church. So...

E-20 Et il a dit: «Je sais au sujet de Will Hall et toutes ces choses. Mais, a-t-il dit, Bill, je reviens du tribunal à cause de cet endroit-là.» Il a dit: «La propriétaire habite Philadelphie, et il y a quelque chose à ce sujet, on ne peut pas y toucher pendant vingt-cinq ans.»
J’ai dit: «Docteur, m’as-tu déjà entendu te dire quelque chose au Nom du Seigneur qui ne soit pas vrai?»
Il a dit: «Mais, Bill, cela–cela...» Il a dit: «Je ne veux pas douter de toi.»
J’ai dit: «Tu ne doutes pas de moi. Tu doutes de Lui.» J’ai dit: «Le Seigneur t’a donné cet endroit-là. Maintenant, Il ne le dirait pas s’Il ne l’avait pas déjà fait (Voyez?), et toi, tu agis comme cela. Mais, ai-je dit, Il t’a déjà donné un endroit. La clinique va être là.» Il s’est gratté la tête, il est sorti, il n’a jamais rien dit.
| E-20 And he said, "I know about Will Hall and all these things." But said, "Bill, I just come out of court with that place." Said, "In Philadelphia the owner lives there, and there's something about it that it can't be touched for twenty-five years."
I said, "Doctor, did you ever hear me tell you anything in the Name of the Lord that wasn't so?"
He said, "But Bill, that--that..." Said, "I don't want to doubt you."
I said, "You're not doubting me. You're doubting Him." I said, "The Lord has give you that place. Now, He wouldn't do it, if He hadn't already done it (See?), and you doing like that." But I said, "He's already give you a place. The clinic's going to be there." He scratched his head, walked out, never said nothing.

E-21 Le lendemain matin, ma femme assise là en est témoin, il m’a téléphoné, disant: «Bill.»
Et j’ai dit: «Quoi?»
Il a dit: «Je meurs de froid.» Et c’était à peu près à cette période-ci de l’année. Il fait très chaud dans l’Indiana.
J’ai dit: «Qu’y a-t-il, docteur?»
Il a dit: «Tu sais, ils ont tenu une assemblée hier soir à Philadelphie, et j’ai déjà acheté le terrain.» Il a dit: «Ça m’appartient, et la clinique est en construction.» Ça se trouve là aujourd’hui. Il a dit: «Si quelqu’un, à n’importe quel moment, doute donc de quoi que ce soit, dis-lui de m’appeler (Voyez?), et c’est partout.» Voyez-vous? Et comment cela est...
Mais voyez, le petit gars était tenace. Il–il–il voulait construire une clinique. Cela était dans son coeur. Et il est venu... même s’il est juste un membre d’église tiède, mais il est venu chercher Dieu. Eh bien, c’est ainsi qu’on obtient la réponse: Chercher Dieu.
| E-21 Next morning, my wife setting there would witness; he called me up. He said, "Bill."
And I said, "What?"
He said, "I'm freezing to death." And it was about this time of year. It's really hot in Indiana.
I said, "What's the matter, doctor?"
He said, "You know, they had a meeting last night in Philadelphia, and I've already bought the lot." He said, "It belongs to me, and the clinic's going up." There it stands today. He said, "If anybody, at any time, ever doubts anything, tell them to call me (See?), and that's anywhere." You see? And how that is...
But see, the little fellow was persistent. He--he--he wanted to build a clinic. It was in his heart. And he come... even just a lukewarm church member, but come seeking God. Now, that's the way to get the answer: seek God.

E-22 Un médecin était assis à ses côtés un jour, il a dit: «Oh! Je crois que la guérison divine existe, mais, a-t-il dit, c’est simplement dans la pensée.»
J’ai dit: «Non, non.»
Il a dit: «Je crois que si un homme croyait qu’il peut aller toucher un poteau, il sera guéri.»
J’ai dit: «Monsieur, qui pourrait jamais avoir la foi en touchant un poteau? Il vous faut avoir la foi. Ce n’est pas juste un point moins important en suspens. Cela doit reposer sur quelque chose qui sert de fondement.»
Quand un homme prend sa femme, il doit faire reposer sa foi dans cette femme, elle doit faire reposer sa foi dans cet homme, une raison pour atteindre le but de la vie. S’il ne le fait pas, il y a donc quelque chose qui cloche, et cela ne marchera pas. Il vous faut avoir la foi. Et en quoi de mieux avoir la foi sinon dans la Parole de Dieu?
| E-22 A doctor was setting with him one day, and he said, "Oh, I believe there's such a thing as Divine healing," but said, "it's just in the mind."
I said, "No, no."
He said, "I believe if a man would believe he could go touch a post, he'd get well."
I said, "Sir, who could ever have faith in touching a post? You've got to have faith. It's not just loose-ended. It's got to be based upon some fundamental something."
When a man takes his wife, he's got to base his faith in that woman, and she's got to base her faith in that man, some reason to make the goal of life. If he doesn't, then there's something wrong, and it won't work. You've got to have faith. And what's better to have faith in than the Word of God?

E-23 Comme le vieux frère de couleur du Sud disait, il disait: «Je préférerais me tenir sur la Parole de Dieu plutôt que dans le Ciel.»
On lui a demandé: «Comment ça, Mose?»
Il a dit: «Eh bien, les cieux et la terre passeront, mais la Parole ne passera pas.» Il ne veut donc pas... Il voulait vraiment être là, assurément. C’est donc tout à fait exact. La Bible dit dans Apocalypse 21: «Les cieux et la terre passeront, mais Ma–mais Ma Parole ne passera point.» Il a dit dans Apocalypse 21, il a vu de nouveaux cieux et une nouvelle terre, car les premiers cieux et la première terre étaient passés. Jésus a dit que les cieux et la terre passeraient, mais que Sa Parole ne passerait point.
| E-23 Like the old southern colored brother said, he said, "I'd rather be standing on the Word of God than standing in heaven."
Said, "Why so, Mose?"
He said, "Why, heavens and earth will pass away, but the Word won't." So he won't--he wanted to really be there, sure. So that's exactly right. The Bible said in Revelation 21, "Heavens and earth will pass away, but My--but My Word shall not pass away." He said in Revelation 21, he saw a new heavens and new earth, for the first heavens and earth was passed away. Jesus said both heavens and earth will pass away, but His Word should not.

E-24 Maintenant, il nous faut avoir une foi établie dans ce que nous faisons. C’est exactement ainsi que ces visions peuvent être accomplies, c’est que cela est fondé sur une promesse de Christ. Et si cet Ange du Seigneur, cette Colonne de Feu, ce... Vous avez Sa photo ici. Je pense qu’on avait cela ici, n’est-ce pas? Si Cela n’était pas exactement conforme à cette Parole, je ne croirais pas cela, peu m’importe combien cela paraissait réel. Cela doit se conformer à cette Parole.
Et cet Ange du Seigneur était Celui, cette Colonne de Feu, qui suivait Israël, ou qu’Israël suivait plutôt dans le désert. Puis, Il a été fait chair et a habité parmi nous. Vous croyez cela, n’est-ce pas? Assurément. Dieu était en Christ.
Il a dit: «Je viens de Dieu et Je retourne à Dieu.» Est-ce vrai? Après Sa mort, Son ensevelissement, Sa résurrection, et Son ascension, Saul de Tarse était en route vers Damas. Et tout à coup, cette grande Colonne de Feu, de Lumière, est apparue devant lui et l’a frappé aux yeux, et il est tombé par terre. Il a entendu une voix dire: «Saul, Saul, pourquoi Me persécutes-tu?»
Et il a dit: «Qui es-Tu, Seigneur?»
Il a dit: «Je suis Jésus.» Il était retourné à Dieu.
Il est entré dans la prison sous forme d’une Lumière, qui avait libéré Pierre de la prison, Il l’a fait sortir.
| E-24 Now, we got to have basic faith on what we're doing. That's exactly how those visions can be achieved, is because it's based upon a promise of Christ. And if that Angel of the Lord, that Pillar of Fire, that... You've got His picture here. I guess they have had it up here, have they? If that did not say exactly with this Word, I wouldn't believe it. I don't care how real it seemed; it's got to come according to this Word.
And that Angel of the Lord was the One, that Pillar of Fire that followed Israel, or Israel followed It, rather, through the wilderness. Then It was made flesh and dwelt among us. You believe that, don't you? Sure. God was in Christ.
He said, "I come from God, and I go to God." Is that right? After His death, burial, and resurrection, and His ascension, Saul of Tarsus was on his road down to Damascus. And all at once that big Pillar of Fire, of Light, before him smote him in the eyes, and he fell to the ground. And he heard a voice saying, "Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou Me?"
And he said, "Who are You, Lord?"
He said, "I'm Jesus." He had returned to God.
He came into the prison as a Light that let Peter out of the prison, took him out.

E-25 Et maintenant, si c’est l’Ange du Seigneur qui conduit ces gens, Il fera la même chose qu’Il avait faite quand Il était manifesté dans le véritable Fils de Dieu. Il fera la même chose dans les fils de Dieu adoptés. Car Jésus a dit: «Vous ferez aussi les oeuvres que Je fais.» Si Sa Vie est en nous, Elle produira la même chose. Et si cela produit des choses contraires aux Ecritures, ça ne peut donc pas être le même Ange.
Mais s’Il produit la même Vie qu’Il avait produite quand Il était ici sur la terre, manifesté dans la chair, Il a promis de se manifester encore de la même façon, alors c’est le même Esprit, le même Dieu, par la même Parole. Voyez-vous ce que je veux dire? Maintenant, vous pouvez donc faire reposer votre foi sur le fait que c’est la vérité. Et sur des dizaines de milliers de visions à travers le monde, je demanderais à n’importe qui, à n’importe quel moment, de me monter là où Cela ait jamais failli. Ça ne faillit pas. Et Ça ne peut pas faillir.
| E-25 And now, if that be the Angel of the Lord leading these people, It'll produce the same thing that It did when It was manifested in the true Son of God. It'll do the same thing in the adopted sons of God. For Jesus said, "The works that I do shall you do also." If His Life is in us, It'll produce the same. And if it does things contrary to the Scripture, then it can't be the same Angel.
But if It produces the same Life that It was when It was here on earth, manifested in flesh, and promised to be manifested again the same way, then It's the same Spirit, same God, by the same Word. See what I mean? Now, then you can base your faith that that is the truth. And of the tens of thousands of visions around the world, I'll ask anyone at any time to show me where it ever failed. It doesn't fail. And it can't fail.

E-26 Ce que vous voyez ici, c’est amateur comme vision. Ce sont juste de petites choses. C’est vous-mêmes qui faites ça. C’est vous. Regardez Christ. Il était la plénitude de Dieu. Dieu habitait en Christ sans mesure. Il avait l’Esprit sans mesure; nous, nous L’avons avec mesure. Mais si j’ai une cuillerée d’eau du lac ici... L’océan, c’est ce qui était en Christ. Si j’ai une cuillerée d’eau, ça serait juste une cuillerée d’eau de cela. Mais les mêmes composants chimiques qui sont dans tout l’océan se retrouvent dans cette cuillerée, seulement pas... Ce–ce n’est–n’est pas la même quantité de cela, mais les mêmes composants chimiques.
Si nous avons l’Esprit de Dieu en nous, ce sont les mêmes oeuvres et le même Esprit, la même manifestation. Voyez? Cela donc... Faites donc reposer votre foi là-dessus. Et quand vous voyez ce que c’est, alors vous pouvez être persévérant. Vous savez où vous vous tenez.
| E-26 This what you see here is an amateur vision. It's just small things. You do that yourself. It's you. Look at Christ. He was the Fullness of God. God dwelt in Christ without measure. He had the Spirit without measure; we have It by measure. But if I got a spoonful of water out of the lake out here... The ocean, that's what was in Christ. If I got a spoonful of water, just be a spoonful of water out of it. But the same chemicals that's in the entire ocean is in that spoonful, just not... It's--it's not as much of it, but the same chemicals.
And if we have the Spirit of God in us, it's the same works and the same Spirit, the same manifestation. See? It just... Then you base your faith upon that. And when you see what it is, then you can be perseverant. You know where you're standing.

E-27 Si un... si–si vingt... Si je crevais de faim, et que quelqu’un me donnait un–un morceau de pain... vingt-cinq cents achèteraient un morceau de pain, et que quelqu’un me donnait le prix d’achat du pain, ce qui s’élève à vingt-cinq cents, je pourrais crier tout aussi haut avec ces vingt-cinq cents entre mes mains que je le pourrais avec un morceau de pain entre mes mains, car j’ai l’évidence que je vais vivre. J’ai les vingt-cinq cents, le prix d’achat, entre mes mains.
Et quand un homme ou une femme voit cela ancré en eux, ils ont la foi. Ils peuvent se réjouir. Peu m’importe ce que votre main dit, ou combien vous êtes malade, vous croyez toujours cela. Vous êtes tenace.
Vous–vous–vous êtes–vous êtes–vous êtes persévérant. Rien ne qui va vous arrêter. Vous avez cela. Peu m’importe... Dix mille médecins peuvent se lever et dire que vous êtes mourant, vous vous moquerez d’eux, vous passez outre cela. Oui. Si réellement vous... Et cela arrivera. Mais voyez, la plupart des gens ont simplement l’espérance, le souhait et autres. On s’affaiblit, oh! très, très faible, dès qu’on se met à parler en termes de foi.
| E-27 If a--if--if twenty... If I was starving to death, and someone give me a--a loaf... Twenty-five cents would buy a loaf of bread, and someone gives me the purchase price of bread, which is twenty-five cents, I can shout just as loud with that quarter in my hand as I can with a loaf of bread in my hand; because I've got the evidence that I'm going to live. I've got the twenty-five cents, the purchase power in my hand.
And when a man or a woman sees it anchored in them, they've got faith. They can rejoice. I don't care what your hand says, or how sick you are, you still believe it. You're persistent. You--you--you're--you're--you're perseverant. There's nothing going to stop you. You've got it. I don't care... Ten thousand doctors could stand and say you're dying. You'd just laugh at them, walk over the top of it. Yes. If you real... And it'll happen. But see, most people just has hope, and wish, and so forth. It becomes weak, oh, very, very weak, when you go to speaking of the terms of faith.

E-29 Et de grands hommes qui ont prié... George Washington à Valley Forge, il avait été très persévérant. Il avait prié toute la nuit alors que les Britanniques étaient de l’autre côté. Washington a prié au point qu’il était mouillé jusqu’à la taille, jusqu’à ce qu’il a été exaucé du Ciel. Et la rivière qui, le lendemain matin, débordait... Valley Forge ne l’a pas dérangé. Il a traversé. Il était persévérant, que ses soldats eussent des souliers ou pas, que l’opposition fût grande ou pas. Trois balles de mousquet lui ont transpercé juste le manteau sans jamais le toucher. Pourquoi? Il avait prié jusqu’à s’emparer de Dieu. Pas de mousquet, pas d’armée, pas de rivière, pas de difficulté, quoi que ce soit, il alla de l’avant.
| E-29 And great men who has prayed... George Washington at Valley Forge, he was very perseverant. He prayed all night when the British was across the other side. And the next morning, no matter... There stood our American soldiers. Half of them didn't have shoes on their feet: American soldiers with no shoes on.
Washington prayed till he was wet plumb to his waist, until he got a answer from heaven. And the gorging river the next morning... Valley Forge didn't bother him. He went on across. He was perseverant, whether his soldiers had shoes or not, whether the opposition was great or not. Three musket bullets went right through his coat and never touched him. Why? He had prayed through till he got a hold of God. No musket, no army, no river, no difficult, whatever it is, he's going on.

E-30 C’est comme Josué et Caleb, quand ils... Tout le reste de la tribu disait: «Oh! nous ne pourrons pas nous en emparer, nous ne pourrons pas nous en emparer. Oh! nous paraissons comme des sauterelles. Eux sont des géants.»
Mais Josué fut persévérant, car il savait que Dieu avait dit: «Je vous ai donné cela.» Voyez, eux regardaient à ce qu’ils pouvaient voir. Josué regardait à ce que Dieu avait dit. C’est ce que... Cela dépend de ce à quoi vous regardez. Les chrétiens regardent à l’invisible, l’invisible. Toute l’armure du christianisme est invisible. Les choses éternelles sont invisibles. Les choses visibles sont matérielles, et la terre est la mère de tout cela.
Mais l’invisible, toute l’armure de Dieu, c’est quelque chose d’invisible: L’amour, la joie, la paix, la foi, la longanimité, la bonté, la douceur, la gentillesse et autres, Dieu, le Saint-Esprit, l’Esprit. Tout cela est invisible. Ce sont des choses durables, des choses éternelles. C’est là toute notre armure.

But Joshua was perseverant, for he knowed God said, "I've give it to you." See, they were looking at what they could see. Joshua was looking at what God said. That's what... It depends on what you're looking at. The Christian looks at the unseen, the unseen. The whole armor of Christianity is unseen. Everlasting things is unseen. The seen things are material, and the earth is the mother of all of it.
But the unseen, the whole armor of God, is an unseen affair: love, joy, peace, faith, long-suffering, goodness, meekness, gentle, so forth, God, the Holy Ghost, Spirit. All that is unseen. That's the lasting things, the eternal things. That's our whole armor.

Alors, quelque chose va arriver. Peu m’importe donc, personne au monde ne peut nous en dissuader. Vous êtes alors en route. Rien ne va vous arrêter.
| E-31 Everything the Christian can depend on is the unseen, the promise of God. And we look at something that we don't see with our eyes. By the way, if you see it with your eyes, you don't see it. "See it" means "to understand it." You look at anything right straight and say, "I don't see it," you mean you don't understand it. When you understand... Something that's got a understanding that God has made His promise, and something has struck you that you believe it, that's understanding that God's promise is to you. Then something's going to happen. Then I don't care, nobody in the world can talk you out of it. You're on your road then. Nothing's going to stop you.

Noé n’était qu’un fermier, un homme... Remarquez, la–la lignée des–des enfants de Caïn, c’étaient des gens intelligents, de très grands hommes de science, avec de grandes réalisations dans le domaine de science. Nous suivons cela. Mais les enfants de Seth étaient humbles, des paysans, des fermiers, des éleveurs de brebis et autres. Dieu demeure toujours dans l’humilité.

You notice, the--the lineage of--of Cain's children was smart, great scientists, great achievements in science. We follow that. But the children of Seth were humble, peasants, farmers, sheep raisers, and so forth. God always dwells in humility.

Mais nous cherchons quelque chose de grand et de bruyant; Dieu cherche quelque chose de petit et de calme.
Le vent violent, le tonnerre, la fumée, le tremblement de terre, aucune de ces choses n’avait attiré le prophète Elie alors qu’il était dans la caverne. Mais quand il a entendu ce murmure doux et léger, Dieu était là-dedans. Alors, il est sorti. Rien du reste de cela ne pouvait l’attirer. Il y a là quelque chose qui doit s’ancrer. Quelque chose doit se passer.
| E-33 The trouble of it is today, that we American people, we're always looking for something big and bright (and God don't do that), something noisy. God can draw more water with the sun in five minutes than we can pump out of a noisy pump in forty days. Sure. But we're looking for something big and noisy; God is looking for something that is small and quiet.
The rushing wind, the thunder, the smoke, the earthquake, none of that things ever attracted the prophet Elijah when he was in the cave. But when he heard that still, small voice, God was in there. Then he come walking forth. None of the rest of it could attract him. It's something there that's got to anchor. Something's got to take place.

E-34 Noé fut très tenace après qu’il eut entendu la Voix de Dieu lui dire de construire l’arche. Pouvez-vous vous imaginer quel jour c’était? Pouvez-vous vous imaginer l’opposition qu’il avait rencontrée, alors qu’ils avaient la plus grande civilisation de l’époque, plus que celle que nous avons aujourd’hui? Ils avaient construit les pyramides. Nous ne pouvons pas en construire. Ils avaient construit le Sphinx. Il nous faut seize wagons plats pour poser le montant là-dessus. Nous ne pouvons pas construire cela. Nous n’avons jusque-là pas d’équipement puissant pour faire cela. Mais eux en avaient. Ils pouvaient–ils pouvaient embaumer un corps, ou faire une momie qui conserve un aspect naturel jusqu’à ce jour-ci. Nous ne pouvons pas faire cela. Ils avaient une teinte que nous n’avons pas. Beaucoup de réalisations qu’ils avaient.
| E-34 Noah, he was very persistent after he heard the voice of God to build the ark. Could you imagine what a day that was? Could you imagine the opposition he met, when they had a greater civilization then than we got now? They built pyramids. We couldn't build them. They built the Sphinx. Take sixteen flat cars to let the leg lay on it. We couldn't build it. We haven't got the power harness to do it yet. But they had it. They could--they could embalm a body, or make a mummy that would look natural to this day. We couldn't do that. They had a coloring that we didn't have. Many achievements they had.

E-35 Jésus a dit: «Ce qui arriva du temps de Noé arrivera de même à la Venue du Fils de l’homme.» Remarquez là maintenant. Ils étaient–ils étaient intelligents. Mais Noé a parlé à Dieu. Peu importe combien son–son Message ne se conformait pas à leurs pensées scientifiques, il est néanmoins allé de l’avant malgré tout parce qu’il avait entendu Dieu parler. Il a construit l’arche malgré tout. Examinons cela un moment pendant que nous sommes sur le sujet.
Je peux voir arriver le temps. Les gens se moquent de lui, ils se tenaient là chaque jour et le regardaient ajuster... les madriers, lui et sa famille. Mais eux disaient: «Dites donc, Noé, nous aimerions te poser une question (Les grands hommes de science). Vous savez, nous pouvons atteindre la lune avec notre radar. J’aimerais te poser une question. Montre-moi où se trouve la pluie là-haut au ciel. Montre-moi où se trouve l’eau là en haut. Il n’y a rien là.»
«Noé, tu as dit qu’elle va tomber. Eh bien, d’où est-ce que cela va tomber? Nous pouvons scientifiquement prouver qu’il n’y en a pas, avec nos instruments ici, pour faire cela. Arrête, mon gars. Tu es–tu es un homme insensé. Tu deviens fou. Arrête de construire ce non-sens d’arche. Viens te joindre à nous, à nous autres. Mangeons, buvons et réjouissons-nous.»
Mais Noé avait entendu Dieu parler. Et il a dit: «Peu m’importe que vos appareils montrent qu’il n’y a rien là. Si Dieu a dit que cela sera là, Il est capable de placer cela là.» Il fut tenace. Il a mis les plats-bords dans la barque, il a fixé les–les parois, il s’est apprêté. Et quand il avait tout construit, il s’est tenu à la porte de l’arche et a prêché qu’il n’y a de salut qu’à entrer par la porte. Ils ont ri de lui.
| E-35 Jesus said, "As it was in the days of Noah, so will it be at the coming of the Son of man." Notice in there now. They were--they were smart. But Noah had talked to God. No matter how much his--his message didn't meet with their scientific thoughts, he still went on because he'd heard God. He built the ark just the same. Let's look at it a moment, while we're on the subject.
I can see the time come. The people laugh at him, standing around every day and watch him fit the timbers in, he and his family. But they said, "Say, Noah, want to ask you something. (great scientists) You know, we can shoot the moon with our radar. I want to ask you something. Show me where there's rain up there in the skies. Show me where there's water up there. There's none up there."
"Noah, you said it's going to come down. Now, where is it at to come down? We can scientifically prove there's none of it, with our instruments here to do it with. Stop, man. You're--you're an insane man. You're going mad. Quit building on that nonsense ark. Come on down and join up with us, the rest of us. Let's eat, drink, and be merry."
But Noah had heard God. And he said, "I don't care if your instruments shows there's nothing there. If God said it will be there, He's able to put it there." He was persistent. He put the gunnels in the boat, and fixed the--the sides, and got ready. When he got it all built, he stood in the door of the ark and preached salvation only by the entering of the door. They laughed at him.

E-36 Un jour, il a commencé à constater que les lions, mâle et femelle, venaient; le cheval, mâle et femelle, venaient. Et eux tous ont commencé à entrer dans l’arche. Dieu a dit: «Apprête-toi, Noé. J’en ai marre de leur comportement, de leur incrédulité. Je vais envoyer le jugement que J’avais promis.»
Eh bien, frère, soeur, je dis ceci. J’espère que vous ne pensez pas que je suis un fanatique, mais je crois que la même chose se répète, c’est proche. Dieu en a marre de cet âge scientifique, qui va à la lune, qui lance des missiles, l’âge dans lequel nous vivons. Eh bien, c’est une autre tour de Babel. Ne savez-vous pas que Dieu détruira cette terre? Il a dit qu’Il le ferait.
C’est la raison pour laquelle je suis ici ce soir. C’est la raison pour laquelle nous essayons de nous hâter de gagner chaque âme que nous pouvons, car la patience de Dieu est aujourd’hui comme du temps de Noé: ne voulant pas qu’aucun périsse, mais...
Et Dieu a envoyé toutes sortes de dons qu’Il pouvait devant les gens. Et néanmoins, ils demeurent en dehors du Royaume. C’est parce que beaucoup de cela proviennent de la chaire. Nous le savons. Ils renient les jours des miracles, ils renient le Saint-Esprit et autres, c’est ce qui est à la base de cela.
| E-36 One day he begin to notice, here come the male and female lion, the male and female horse. And all of them begin to come into the ark. God said, "Get ready, Noah. I've had enough of their carrying on, of their unbelief. I'm going to send the judgment that I promised."
Well, brother, sister, I say this. I hope you don't think I'm a fanatic, but I believe that that very same repeating is at hand. God's got enough of this scientific, moon-shooting, missile-dropping age that we're in. Why, it's another tower of Babel. Don't you know that God will destroy this earth? He said He would.
That's the reason I'm out here tonight. That's the reason we're trying to press forward to get every soul that we can, because the long-suffering of God in the days of Noah is the same as it is now: not willing that any should perish, but...
And God sent every kind of a gift that He can before the people. And still they stay without the Kingdom. It's because much of it comes from the pulpit. We know that: a denial of days of miracles, denial of the Holy Ghost, and so forth, that brings that.

E-37 Maintenant, nous voyons ce qui est arrivé. Un jour, quand Noé est entré et que sa famille... Je peux les entendre dire: «Voilà vos animaux puants. Ils apprécient entendre le pasteur prêcher et l’une ou l’autre chose; mais ils ne font jamais un pas en avant. Ainsi donc, la chose suivante... Ils ne veulent jamais s’y impliquer, de sorte qu’ils soient identifiés à cela.
Frère... Ô frère! Oh! je suis très content d’être identifié à cela. Je–j’aimerais que mon identification soit reconnue, que je suis l’un d’eux. Le plus grand honneur que j’aie jamais eu, c’est d’être identifié aux gens qui sont taxés de fous à cause de l’Evangile. Exact.
| E-37 Now, we notice what taken place. One day when Noah went in and his family... And I can hear them say, "There's your old stinking animals. Go on in and live with them now." Oh, their great classical age, you know, that they lived in. And--and so, then the door shut behind.
There was some borderline believers that used to attend the meetings of Noah--Noah. Well, just like there is now, people set around all the time in the church, but they never make a move to come forward. They enjoy hearing the pastor preach and something another; but they never make a move forward. So then the first thing... They never want to put their hands into it, so they'd be identified with it.
Brother... Oh, brother. Oh, I'm so glad to be identified with it. I--I want my credentials known that I'm one of them. The greatest honor I ever had, to be identified with the people that's called crazy for the Gospel's sake. Right.

Dieu avait dit à Israël en Egypte: «Je vous ai donné cette Terre promise.» Mais Il a dit à Josué lorsqu’il entrait: «Tout lieu que foulera la plante de vos pieds, Je vous le donne.» Cela leur avait déjà été donné, mais ils devaient combattre pour chaque centimètre de cela. But he told Joshua when he went in, "Everywhere the soles of your feet tread, that I give you." It was already give to them, but they had to fight every inch of it. Other words, "footprints meant possession." Just keep walking. Now, they had to fight it, but God had give it to them.

E-40 Et puis... Et Noé, quand il est entré et qu’il s’est installé dans l’arche... Il entra au mois de–de mai, le dix-septième jour de mai, quand Noé entra dans l’arche, selon la Bible. Bon. Et je l’entends dire...
Il entre ici à l’étage inférieur (la justification): Il y avait tous les reptiles. Il est monté au deuxième niveau (la sanctification): Il y avait là tous les oiseaux. Et il est allé au sommet, là où la Lumière brillait, jusqu’au baptême de l’Esprit, dans l’arche. Il est donc monté là, et il a parlé à toute sa famille, disant: «Maintenant, restez là. Eh bien, le matin, le soleil ne se lèvera pas. Des nuages noirs, comme la fumée, vont déchirer les cieux, et l’eau tombera.»
Mais le lendemain matin, le soleil s’est levé tout ardent comme d’habitude. Je m’imagine que Noé fut déçu, mais il était déjà enfermé à l’intérieur. Le deuxième jour passa; rien n’arriva. Il fut là sept jours, il fut testé sept jours.

But the next morning, the sun come up just as hot as it ever did. I'd imagine there was some disappointment about Noah, but he was already shut in. The second day passed; nothing happened. And he was there seven days--seven days testing him.

E-41 Chaque fils, chaque enfant qui vient à Dieu doit être testé. Dieu descendra dans une réunion, y accomplira de grands signes et de grands prodiges, et vous allez vous poser la question. Ensuite, Il va vous éprouver là-dessus pour voir si vraiment vous êtes sincère à ce sujet ou pas (Amen), vous tester pour voir si vous croyez réellement cela ou pas.
Alors, Il a laissé Noé là et ce dernier a enduré cela pendant sept jours. Mais au matin du septième jour, les cieux s’obscurcirent. De très grosses gouttes de pluie se mirent à tomber. Les égouts commencèrent à se remplir. La rue était inondée d’eau, cela est monté jusqu’au niveau de l’arche et celle-ci à flotté. Les gens ont frappé, mais cela a continué sans cesse, et les méchants furent noyés.
Noé avait été tenace parce qu’il avait entendu la Voix de Dieu, et il avait tenu ferme. Et cent vingt ans durant, il avait prêché le Message, sans jamais faiblir. Il se fortifiait. Il croyait en Dieu. Il était tenace.
| E-41 Every son, every child that comes to God has got to be tested. God will move down in a meeting, and show great signs and wonders, and you'll wonder. Then He will test you on it to see if you really mean it or not. Amen. Test you to see if you really believe it or not.
Then He let Noah set there and sweat it out for seven days. But on that seventh morning, the sky was roaring black. Great big drops of rain begin to fall. The sewers begin to fill up. The street raised water in it, way up higher plumb on the ark, floated. People knocked, but on and on it went, and the wicked drowned.
Noah was persistent because he heard the voice of God, and held on. And a hundred and twenty years he preached the message, never growed weak. He growed strong. He believed God. He was persistent.

E-42 Moïse, le prophète fugitif, il avait acquis toute l’instruction qui pouvait lui être inculquée, en effet, il était le fils de la fille de Pharaon. Et il avait acquis toute la théologie. Il était très intelligent. Il pouvait enseigner la sagesse aux Egyptiens. Et malgré tout ce qu’il avait, avec l’entendement qu’il était né avec une–une vie spirituelle ou pour être un–un prophète...
On ne devient pas prophètes, on naît prophètes. Les prophètes... Il existe un don de prophétie dans l’église, mais on naît prophètes. Ils ont la Parole du Seigneur.
Jésus-Christ était le Fils de Dieu depuis tout là-bas, avant la fondation du monde. Croyez-vous cela? L’Agneau. Et Esaïe avait vu Jean-Baptiste sept cent douze ans avant sa naissance, la voix de celui qui crie dans le désert. Moïse est né un enfant particulier. Jérémie, Dieu lui a dit: «Avant même que tu fusses formé dans le ventre de ta mère, Je te connaissais. Je t’avais appelé, Je t’avais consacré, et Je t’avais établi prophète des nations.» Avant donc qu’il soit né du sein de sa mère, il avait la Parole du Seigneur dès l’enfance. C’est... Il était un prophète.
| E-42 Moses, the runaway prophet, he had all the education that could be stuffed into him, because he was the son of Pharaoh's daughter. And he had all the theology. He was so smart, he could teach the Egyptians wisdom. And with all he had, with the understanding that he was borned a--a spiritual life, or to be a--a prophet...
Prophets are not made; prophets are born. Prophets... There's a gift of prophecy in the church, but prophets are born. They have the Word of the Lord.
Jesus Christ was the Son of God all the way before the foundation of the world. You believe that? The Lamb. And Isaiah saw John the Baptist seven hundred and twelve years before he was born, a voice of one crying in the wilderness. Moses was born a proper child. Jeremiah, God said, "Before you was even conceived in your mother's wombs, I knew you, and called you, and sanctified you, and ordained you a prophet to the nations." Before he was ever born from his mother's womb, he had the Word of the Lord from childhood up. That's... He was a prophet.

E-43 Moïse était là, il savait qu’il était un prophète du Seigneur, mais il n’avait pas encore connu cette expérience-là, quelque chose pour le rendre tenace. Il a fui parce qu’il avait trouvé que son acte militaire n’avait pas marché. Et alors, il est allé dans le désert: il est resté là jusqu’à ce qu’il fût devenu un vieil homme de quatre-vingts ans, avec des moustaches qui lui pendaient bas, et peut-être que sa tête chauve était devenue brune sous le soleil qui brillait, à force de paître les brebis de Jéthro.
Et il était là un matin, il a entendu, il a regardé sur la colline, et là il y avait un buisson en feu. Il s’est retourné pour voir ce buisson. Et alors, il a entendu une voix dire: «Ôte tes souliers.»
Eh bien, et si Moïse avait dit: «Je vais juste ôter mon chapeau»? Ça n’aurait pas marché. C’est la raison pour laquelle la Bible... Je crois que chaque Parole de Cela doit s’accomplir. «Ôte tes souliers», et il a ôté ses souliers.
Il a dit: «Je suis le Dieu d’Abraham, d’Isaac et de Jacob. J’ai entendu le gémissement de Mon peuple. Je me suis souvenu de Ma promesse à Abraham. (Amen. Combien je suis content de ce qu’Il se rappelle encore aujourd’hui qu’Il déversera Son Esprit!) Je me souviens de Ma promesse, et Je vais t’envoyer les délivrer.»
Et il a présenté toutes sortes d’excuses, mais Il a dit: «Assurément, Je serai avec toi.» Vous savez, parfois donc, quand il arrive quelque chose comme cela, vous devenez très tenace...?...
| E-43 Here was Moses, knowed he was a prophet of the Lord, but he hadn't had that experience yet, something to make him persistent. He run away because he found out his military act didn't work. And then he went out into the wilderness: was there till he was an old man, eighty years old, whiskers hanging down low, and perhaps his bald head done turned brown from the sun shining down, from herding Jethro's sheep.
And was out there one morning, and he heard, and looked up on the hill, and there was a bush on fire. He turned aside to see this bush. And when he was there, he heard a voice say, "Take off your shoes."
Now, what if Moses said, "I'll just take off my hat?" That don't work. That's the reason the Bible... I believe that every Word of It's got to be fulfilled. "Take off your shoes," and he took off his shoes.
He said, "I'm the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. I've heard the groans of My people. I remember My promise to Abraham. (Amen. How glad I am He's remembering it again today, that He'd pour out His Spirit.) I remember My promise, and I'm going to send you down to deliver them."
And he made all kinds of excuses, but He said, "Surely I'll be with you." You know sometimes then, when there's something like that happens, you get very persistent.

E-44 Et Moïse fut très tenace. Il n’a pas attendu de former une armée. Vous savez, parfois quand vous devenez tenace et que vous entendez la Voix de Dieu, cela vous fait faire des choses ridicules pour l’esprit charnel. Vous agissez de façon étrange, drôle. Vous passez pour une drôle de personne. Regardez comment Moïse a agi de façon ridicule. Le lendemain, nous le trouvons avec sa femme assise à califourchon sur un mulet, avec Guerschom sur sa hanche, un vieil homme avec des moustaches qui lui pendaient comme ceci, une barbe qui flottait, et un petit homme de quatre-vingts ans, avec une houlette à la main, descendant la route: «Alléluia! Alléluia!»
«Où vas-tu, Moïse?»
«Je descends en Egypte faire l’invasion»: L’invasion par un seul homme. Pourquoi? Il avait entendu Dieu parler. On lui dit: «Moïse, attends une minute. Il fait très chaud. Il y a quelque chose qui cloche chez toi. Ton–ton état mental n’est pas normal, Moïse. Rentre.»
Essayez de l’arrêter. Vous ne pouvez pas y parvenir. Dieu lui avait dit qu’il allait faire l’invasion, et il l’a fait. Peut-être qu’il avait agi d’une manière drôle, mais il savait ce qu’il faisait. Il avait la pensée de Dieu. Il connaissait la volonté de Dieu. Il savait ce qu’il faisait. Et il s’en est allé. Et tout homme qui peut se retrouver dans cette situation-là sait exactement ce que Dieu l’a appelé à faire, quelque chose va arriver. Oui, oui.
Peu m’importe qui est-ce, à quel point vous êtes malade, ou tout ce qu’il en est à ce sujet, vous devez croire cela. Et alors, vous devenez persévérant. Rien ne va vous arrêter. C’est exact.
| E-44 And--and Moses was very persistent. He didn't wait till he formed an army. You know, sometimes when you get persistent and hear the Voice of God, it makes you do things ridiculous to the carnal mind. You act strange, funny. You're an odd person. Look how ridiculous Moses act. The next day we find him with his wife setting straddled a mule, with Gershom on her hip, and an old man with whiskers hanging down like this, and the beard a blowing, and a little eighty year old man with a crooked stick in his hand, going down the road, "Hallelujah. Hallelujah."
"Where you going, Moses?"
"Going down to Egypt, to take over": One-man invasion. Why? He'd heard God.
Say, "Moses, wait a minute. The sun got too hot. There's something wrong with you. Your--your mental conditions is not right, Moses. Go back."
Try to stop him. You couldn't do it. God had told him he was going to take it over, and he did it. Might act funny, but he knowed what he was doing. He had the mind of God. He knowed the will of God. He knowed what he was doing, and away he went. And any man that can get in that condition, know exactly what God's called him to do, something's going to happen. Yes, sir.
I don't care who it is, how sick you are, or what all about it, you've got to believe it. And then you become perseverant. There's nothing going to stop you. That's right.

E-45 Le petit David était là sur place ce jour-là, il a regardé là et il y avait ce grand gaillard de Goliath qui se tenait de l’autre côté: des doigts de quatorze pouces [35 cm], et une lance de la taille de l’aiguille de tisserand en main. Et Saül était là, dépassant toute l’armée d’une tête.
Le vieux Goliath... Vous savez, c’est ainsi que l’ennemi s’y prend, quand il vous amène au point où, on dirait, il veut le frictionner un peu. Il a dit: «Ne versons pas le sang.» Il a dit: «Que–que l’un de vous les hommes s’avance combattre avec moi, et–et s’il me tue, ma–ma nation vous servira. Et si je le tue, alors votre nation me servira.» Voyez-vous comment il veut s’y prendre? En effet, il pensait avoir la chose.
| E-45 Little David standing there on the ground that day, he looked over there, and there was that big old Goliath standing over there: fourteen-inch fingers, and weaver's needle spear in his hand. And there was Saul, head and shoulders above the whole army.
Old Goliath... You know, that's the way the enemy does, when he gets you in a place that wants to kind of rub it on a little bit. He said, "Let's not have no bloodshed." Said, "Let--let one of your men come out and fight me, and--and if he kills me my--my nation will serve you. And if I kill him, then your nation serve me." See how they want to do it, 'cause he thought he had it.

E-46 Mais il a dit cela une fois devant un homme qui connaissait Dieu. Non pas juste un homme formé militairement, il ne connaissait rien à ce sujet. Mais il connaissait Dieu. Le petit David, la Bible dit qu’il était blond, un tout petit homme là, aux épaules affaissées, avec un petit sac à son flanc, une petite gibecière contenant la nourriture pour brebis, il s’est avancé là pour rendre visite à ses frères.
Et il a dit: «Voulez-vous me dire que vous allez laisser ce Philistin, cet incirconcis, se tenir là et défier les armées de Dieu, disant que les jours des miracles sont passés?» Oh! la la! Quel homme c’était! Le moindre parmi les hommes de tout le groupe, rien qu’un enfant.
Mais quoi? Il savait... il a dit: «Le... Un jour, un lion est arrivé, il a attrapé une brebis de mon père, et il l’a emportée. Je l’ai pourchassé avec ma fronde, et je l’ai ramenée. Un ours est arrivé, je l’ai tué.» Il a dit: «Et le même Dieu (Alléluia!) qui m’avait délivré du lion et de l’ours livrera ce Philistin, cet incirconcis, entre mes mains.» Arrêtez-le si vous le pouvez.
| E-46 But he said it one time in the face of a man who knowed God. Not just a military trained man, he knowed nothing about it. But he knowed God. Little old David, the Bible said he was ruddy, little bitty old fellow out there, stoop-shouldered, little sack on his side here, and a little scrip bag with some sheep food in it, come up there to visit his brothers.
And he said, "You mean to tell me that you'll let that uncircumcised Philistine stand there and defy the armies of God, saying the days of miracles is past?" Oh, my. what a man that was: the least man of the whole bunch, just a kid.
But what? He knowed... He said, "The... One day a lion come in and got my father's sheep and took it out. I went after him with my slingshot, and I brought him back. A bear come in, and I slew the bear." He said, "And the same God (Hallelujah.) that delivered me from the lion and from the bear will deliver that uncircumcised Philistine into my hands." Stop him if you could.

E-47 Oh! Saül... On l’a donc amené devant Saül, le général. Et Saül a dit: «Eh bien, fiston, j’apprécie ton courage. Mais tu sais, tu–tu n’es pas assez instruit pour combattre. Tu ne sais comment t’y prendre. Peut-être nous allons simplement te revêtir... Essaie mon manteau.» Et il a fait revêtir le pauvre petit David de cette énorme histoire et ses jambes se sont arquées sous l’effet de cela. Il a fini par découvrir qu’un... que son manteau ecclésiastique ne convenait pas à un homme de Dieu.
Alors, il a dit: «Enlevez cette histoire. Je ne sais rien à ce sujet. Je ne sais rien au sujet de ceci ici, tout ceci ici, comment dire amen juste correctement, votre mot et votre grammaire correctement.» Il a dit: «Laissez-moi m’y prendre, comme je m’étais fié à Dieu. Laissez-moi aller avec ce en quoi j’ai confiance.» Amen.
Et savez-vous ce qui était arrivé? Assurément. Il était tenace, il n’a pas du tout tremblé. Il s’est avancé là et il a ramassé cinq cailloux, J-é-s-u-s; il a enroulé la fronde dans les cinq doigts, f-a-i-t-h, la foi en J-é-s-u-s. Et il s’est avancé, confiant en Dieu, qu’Il fera le reste.
| E-47 Oh, Saul... They just brought him up before Saul, the general. And Saul said, "Now, son, I admire your courage. But you know, you--you haven't much education on fighting. You don't know how to do it. Maybe we'll just put you on... Try on my vest." And he put that great big thing on--poor little David was bowlegged with it on. He come to find out that a--his ecclesiastical vest didn't fit a man of God.
So he said, "Throw the thing off. I don't know nothing about it. I don't know nothing about this here, all this here how to say 'Amen' just right, and your word and grammar just right." Said, "Let me go the way that I've trusted God. Let me go with what I trust in." Amen.
And you know what happened? Sure. He was persistent, not one quiver in His blood: walked out there and picked up five rocks, J-e-s-u-s; wrapped the slingshot in five fingers, f-a-i-t-h, faith in J-e-s-u-s. And here he come trusting God to do the rest.

E-48 Et c’est tout ce qu’il vous faut faire. Ayez foi en Jésus, en Sa mort, en Son ensevelissement, en Sa résurrection, en Son omniprésence, en Son Être maintenant, en Sa promesse, en Ses dons, Sa manifestation. C’est tout ce qu’il vous faut faire. Avoir foi, et faire face à toute espèce d’obstacle. Que cela soit appelé cancer, paralysie, quoi que ce soit, le rencontrer sur le terrain.
Le Dieu qui peut ressusciter votre âme pécheresse de la vie du péché peut vous délivrer de toute maladie ou de toute affliction que vous avez. Vous devez avoir cette foi-là. Soyez tenace. Accrochez-vous-y. Ne lâchez pas cela. Voyez-vous?
Mais vous ne pouvez pas bluffer là-dessus. Cela n’acceptera pas de bluff. Vous pouvez avoir raison pour bluffer ici dans un... Vous vous retrouverez et vous rencontrerez là les sorciers et les autres. Ces démons, n’essayez pas de bluffer avec eux. Il vous faut posséder ce dont vous parlez, sur le champ de mission. Exact.
Eh bien, tenez, vous êtes dans un groupe d’intellectuels ici en Amérique. Vous recevez des choses intellectuelles. C’est la raison pour laquelle le ministère n’a pas très bien marché ici: c’est juste le côté intellectuel–intellectuel. Mais je n’ai pas été envoyé à ce groupe-là de toute façon. J’ai été envoyé au groupe qui est comme Abraham était, à ceux qui sont appelés à sortir. Oui.
| E-48 And that's all you have to do. Have faith in Jesus, His death, burial, resurrection, His omnipresence, His being now, His promise, His gifts, His manifestation. That's all you need to do. Have faith, and meet any kind of an obstacle. If it's called cancer, paralyism, whatever it is, meet him on the ground.
The God that can raise up your sinful soul from a life of sin can set you free from any sickness or disease you've got. You've got to have that faith. Be persistent. Hold on to it. Don't turn it loose. You see?
But you can't bluff it. It won't take a bluff. You might be all right to bluff around here in a... You get on over yonder and meet the witch doctors and them. Them devils, don't you try to bluff them. You've got to have what you're talking about on the mission field. Correctly.
Now, here, you're in a intellectual group here in America. They take intellectual things. That's the reason the ministry didn't go too good here: just intellectual--intellectual. But I wasn't sent to that group anyhow. I was sent to the group that, like Abraham was, one that was called out. Yes.

E-49 Là, Samson. Eh bien, beaucoup de gens pensaient que Samson avait... J’ai vu un tableau qui a été peint sur lui, on dirait qu’il avait des épaules de la dimension de la porte d’une grange. Eh bien, non... Un homme de cette taille-là? Ça ne serait pas un mystère qu’un tel homme puisse saisir un lion et le déchirer en deux. Mais il était un tout petit gringalet, aux cheveux bouclés, un drôle de petit gars, avec sept petites tresses qui lui pendaient dans le dos, comme un fils à maman, une petite femmelette. Eh bien, de voir un tel gars tuer un lion, il y avait quelque chose... Il n’est pas étonnant que les Philistins se soient demandé d’où venait cette force.
Pourquoi? Comment pouvait-il être si sûr? Il était un naziréen. Il avait fait un voeu de la part de Dieu. Hmm. Savez-vous que chaque enfant d’Abraham est un naziréen, avec un voeu de la part de Dieu? Il a juré par Lui-même.
| E-49 There, Samson. Now, a lot of people thought that Samson had... I've seen his picture painted with, looked like he had shoulders the size of a barn door. Why, no... A man that size? There would be no mystery how a man like that could pick up a lion and tear him in two. But he was a little, curly-headed shrimp, little bitty old guy, seven little locks hanging down his back like mama's boy, little sissy. Now, to see a guy like that slay a lion, how there's something... No wonder the Philistines wondered where that hidden power come from.
Why? How could he be so sure? He was a Nazarite. He had a vow from God. Hmm. Do you know that every child of Abraham is a Nazarite with a vow from God, swore by Hisself.

E-50 Le petit Samson, un petit homme aux cheveux bouclés, petit... avec sept tresses qui lui pendaient dans le dos; un lion avait foncé en rugissant. Samson était un tout petit homme, il se tenait là. Mais remarquez, l’Esprit du Seigneur est venu sur lui. C’est ce qui faisait la différence. Voyez-le, debout dans le champ ce jour-là, entouré de mille Philistins. Il a regardé tout autour. Il ne pouvait rien trouver avec quoi combattre avec. Il a regardé par terre et il a ramassé la mâchoire du mulet.
Eh bien, tout le monde sait qu’une vieille mâchoire décolorée du mulet... Et les casques d’airain de ces Philistins avaient plus d’un pouce [2,54 cm] d’épaisseur, avec le vêtement qu’ils appelaient cuirasse, cela était une superposition de métal, comme cela, avec des lances, et de grands boucliers, mille. Mais l’Esprit du Seigneur est venu sur ce petit gringalet. Il a tendu la main là et il a touché ces sept tresses. Il savait qu’il était toujours un naziréen. Alléluia! Il a pris ce qui était dans sa main, et il a démoli ces crânes juste avec cette vieille mâchoire.
Tout le monde sait que si vous frappez l’un de ces crânes avec cette vieille mâchoire, celle-ci volera en mille éclats. Mais Dieu était là, maintenant cela ensemble. Il a terrassé, il a tué mille Philistins. Il était tenace. Pourquoi? Il n’avait pas peur. Il pouvait toucher ce voeu de naziréen avec lui. Alléluia!
Un homme ou une femme peut sentir la Présence de Jésus-Christ et savoir qu’on est né de nouveau du Saint-Esprit et ne rien laisser lui faire obstacle. Tenace, quand Dieu parle disant: «C’est vous. Je vous donne la foi ce soir. Votre guérison est certaine. C’est Ma Parole», alors vous pouvez être tenace. Assurément.
| E-50 Little Samson, little curly-headed fellow, little--seven little locks hanging down his back; a lion come roaring out. Samson was a little bitty man standing there. But you notice, the Spirit of the Lord came on him. That made the difference. Look at him standing out on the field that day, where a thousand Philistines surrounded him. He looked around. He couldn't have nothing to fight with. And he looked down and picked up the jawbone of a mule.
Well, anybody knows an old bleached-out jawbone of a mule... And them Philistines helmets was better than a inch thick with brass, and the vesture of what they call "mail," which was a lapped-over metal, down like that, and with spears, and great shields, a thousand of them. But the Spirit of the Lord come on that little shrimp. He reached back there and felt them seven locks. He knowed he was still a Nazarite. Hallelujah. He took what was in his hand, and he beat them skulls right in with that old jawbone.
Anybody knows you hit one of them skulls with that old jawbone, it'd fly in a million pieces. But God was there to hold it together. And he beat down and killed a thousand Philistines. He was persistent. Why? He wasn't afraid. He could feel that Nazarite vow with him. Hallelujah.
A man or a woman can feel the Presence of Jesus Christ, and know that you're borned again of the Holy Ghost, let nothing stand in your way. Persistent, when God speaks down and says, "It's you. I give you faith tonight. Your healing is sure. It's My Word," then you can be persistent. Sure.

E-51 Jean-Baptiste était si tenace qu’il allait voir le Messie. Eh bien, Jean naquit... Nous n’avons pas grand-chose sur lui. Nous savons que son père, Zacharie, était un sacrificateur issu de la lignée des sacrificateurs. Mais Jean n’a jamais suivi les pas de son papa. Son message était trop important. Il ne pouvait pas se permettre de suivre la voie ecclésiastique de l’époque. Vous ne le pouvez jamais. Jean savait.
Les vieux parents, comme ils étaient vieux à la naissance de Jean, ils savaient qu’il devait y avoir quelque chose, ce garçon... ils étaient chagrinés à cause de lui. Ils connaissaient leur fils. Ils n’auraient jamais l’occasion de le voir, à cause de leur âge avancé, ils allaient être retirés avant, avant que son temps arrive, mais ils savaient qu’il était un prophète. Le Seigneur en avait parlé, et ils savaient cela. Combien cela a dû faire du mal à ce couple avancé en âge!
| E-51 John the Baptist was so persistent that he was going to see the Messiah. Now, John was born... We don't have much of him. We know his father, Zacharias, was a priest out of the lineage of the priests. But John never followed the footsteps of his daddy. His message was too great. He couldn't afford to go in the ecclesiastical way of that day. You can never. John knew.
The old parents, being old when Johns born, they knowed it must be something, this boy--heart eat for them. They knew their boy. They'd never be able to see him, because old age would take them before--'fore his time come, but they knew he'd be a prophet. The Lord had spoke of it, and they knew it. How it must have hurt the old couple.

E-52 Il nous est rapporté, d’après l’histoire, qu’à l’âge d’environ neuf, dix ans, ce jeune garçon, son père et sa mère moururent, et il resta seul. Au lieu d’aller au séminaire pour suivre la voie de son papa... Son travail était trop important, Dieu ne pouvait pas le laisser être embrouillé. Certains de ces gars auraient dit: «Eh bien, Jean, c’est toi qui dois présenter le Messie, n’est-ce pas?»
«Oui, monsieur. C’est exact.»
«Eh bien, tu sais, docteur Untel, Saint Bishop Untel ici, ne penses-tu pas qu’il est l’homme qu’il faut pour cela?»
«Oh! je pense...»
«Oh! Non, rabbin, tu es en erreur. Le saint évêque Untel est juste...»
Eh bien, pouvez-vous donc accepter un tel non-sens, mêlé... Jean ne voulait pas se mêler dans de telles choses. Savez-vous où il est allé? Il est allé dans le désert, seul avec Dieu. Dieu lui a parlé là, Il l’a rencontré dans le désert et Il a dit: «Jean, Celui sur qui tu verras l’Esprit descendre et s’arrêter, c’est Celui-là qui baptisera du Saint-Esprit et du feu.»
Jean était très sûr qu’il allait Le présenter, il se tenait sur le rivage, il a dit: «Il y a parmi vous maintenant Quelqu’Un que vous ne connaissez même pas.» Amen! Gloire à Dieu! Il savait qu’Il allait donc venir. Ils L’attendaient depuis quatre mille ans. Mais il a dit: «Il y a parmi vous maintenant même Quelqu’Un que vous ne connaissez pas. C’est Lui.»
| E-52 We're told, according to history, about nine, ten years old, the boy--his father and mother died and he was left alone. Instead of going down to the seminary to do the way his father did... His job was so important, God couldn't get him mixed up. Some of them guys would've said, "Now, John, you're to introduce the Messiah, aren't you?"
"Yes, sir. That is right."
"Well, you know, Dr. So-and-so, Holy Bishop So-and-so here, don't you think he's just the right man for that?"
"Oh, I think..."
"Oh, no, Rabbi, you're wrong. Holy Bishop So-and-so is just so..."
Now, could you ever get such a nonsense, mixed-up... John wouldn't get mixed up in such stuff as that. You know where he went? He went to the wilderness, alone with God. God told him out there--met him in the wilderness, and said, "John, upon Whom thou shall see the Spirit descending and remaining on, He's the One that'll baptize with the Holy Ghost and fire."
John was so sure he was going to introduce Him, stood on the banks, and he said, "There's One standing among you now that you don't even know." Amen. Glory to God. He knowed He was coming then. They'd looked for Him for four thousand years. But he said, "There's One standing among you right now that you don't know. He's the One."

E-53 Vous ne pouvez pas dire: «C’est celui-ci, c’est celui-là.» Voyez, il a dû recevoir sa formation correctement. Il a dû connaître ce signe du Messie. Il a dû savoir ce que ce Messie serait. Dieu a montré depuis le ciel ce qu’était le Messie. Jean a dit: «Je ne Le connaissais pas. Mais Celui qui m’a parlé dans le désert, disant: ‘Va baptiser d’eau,’ a dit: ‘Celui sur qui l’Esprit descendra et s’arrêtera...’» Et Jean a dit: «Je rends témoignage (Amen!) que c’est le Fils de Dieu, car j’ai vu la Colombe descendre.»
Personne d’autre n’avait vu cela. Personne d’autre n’attendait cela. Mais Jean attendait cela, et Jean a vu cela. Peu m’importe combien ratent leur guérison; croyez que c’est pour vous. Emparez-vous-en. Peu m’importe ce que les voisins ont fait, ou les autres, vous, accrochez-vous-y et soyez tenace une fois que Dieu vous révèle cela, que Son Fils vous a libéré du péché et de la maladie. God would show from heaven what that Messiah was. John said, "I didn't know Him. But He that told me in the wilderness, 'Go baptize with water,' said, 'On Who the Spirit descends and remains on...'" And John said, "I bear record (Amen.) that That is the Son of God, 'cause I seen the dove coming down."
Nobody else saw it. Nobody else was looking for it. But John was looking for it, and John saw it. I don't care how many fails in their healing; you believe that it's you. You take a hold of it. I don't care what Jones done, or the rest of them. You hold on to it and be persistent when God reveals it to you that His Son has made you free from sin and sickness. You hold onto it. Be persistent. Yes. John knew.

Eh bien, elle avait une forte opposition. Mais écoutez ceci maintenant. La foi trouve une source que les autres ne voient pas. La foi trouve une source que d’autres ne peuvent pas voir. La foi parait ridicule à tout le monde sauf à Dieu et à celui qui la possède. C’est ridicule à tout le monde sauf à Dieu et à la personne qui a la foi. Maintenant, c’est tout... c’est... tout... C’est de l’assurance pour lui. C’est certain pour Dieu et c’est certain pour la personne qui a cela. Mais pour les autres, ils pensent qu’on est insensé. C’est toujours ça. Mais c’est certain pour la personne.
| E-54 (Say, I'd better quit. I'll never get to my text.) You know what? This woman was a Greek that I was speaking of, and she was of another nation. And... But she heard of Jesus. How does faith come? By hearing, hearing the Word. You say, "How..." Well, she heard of Him. He is the Word. So He was the Word, and she heard.
Now, she had a lot of opposition. But listen to this now. Faith finds a source that others don't see. Faith finds a source that others can't see it. Faith is ridiculous to everybody but God and the fellow that's got it. It's ridiculous to everybody besides God and the person that's got the faith. Now, it's all--it's all--it's a surety to them. It's a sure to God, and it's a sure to the person that's got it. But the rest of them thinks they're crazy. Always have. But it's sure to them.

E-55 Sa Parole est une Epée. Hébreux 4.12 déclare que la Parole de Dieu est plus tranchante qu’une épée quelconque à deux tranchants. Eh bien, l’épée de la foi doit... l’Epée de la Parole doit être manipulée par la main de la foi. Rien d’autre ne peut brandir cette Epée si ce n’est la foi dans la Parole.
Eh bien, certains peuvent prendre la Parole et–et se frayer suffisamment du chemin pour adhérer à l’église. C’est aussi loin qu’ils peuvent aller, à peu près. D’autres peuvent découper dedans, découper chaque promesse de Dieu, découper la promesse du Saint-Esprit, découper la guérison divine. Cela dépend de la force de la main de la foi qui tient cette Epée-là.
Chaque promesse est pour vous. C’est assez tranchant pour ôter tout ce qu’il y a autour de vous et faire de vous un fils et une fille de Dieu, libre de tout. Mais cela dépend du genre de main qui tient cette Epée-là. Ça doit être une main de la foi.
| E-55 His Word is a Sword. Hebrews 4:12 says that the Word of God is sharper than a two-edged sword. Now, the sword of faith must... The sword of the Word must be handled by the hand of faith. Nothing else can yield that sword but faith in the Word.
Now, some people can take the Word and--and cut away enough to join the church. That's about far as they get. Others can cut in, cut out every promise of God, cut down the promise of the Holy Ghost, cut out in Divine healing. It depends on how strong that hand of faith is holding that sword.
Every promise is yours. It's sharp enough to cut everything that there is around you away, and make you a son and daughter of God, free from all. But depends on what kind of a hand that's holding that sword. It must be a hand of faith.

E-56 Cette pauvre femme a peut-être connu beaucoup d’obstacles. Mais sa foi n’en a connu aucun. Non. Vous pouvez avoir beaucoup d’obstacles. Peut-être que votre médecin dit que cela ne peut pas arriver. Mais si vous avez la foi, cela ne change rien, ce que quelqu’un d’autre dit. Votre foi ne connaît pas d’obstacle. Votre foi voit cela. C’est l’assurance des choses qu’on espère, une démonstration de celles qu’on ne voit pas. Abraham appela les choses qui n’étaient pas comme si elles étaient, car Dieu avait dit cela.
Pouvez-vous vous représenter Abraham, ce vieil homme? Eh bien, il avait soixante-quinze ans avant que Dieu l’appelât donc. Sara en avait soixante-cinq. C’est à peu près vingt ans après la ménopause. Dieu avait dit qu’elle aurait un enfant, et qu’Il aurait ... «Par lui, Je bénirai le monde. Par lui, toutes les nations... t’appeler le père des nations...»
Pouvez-vous vous imaginer un vieil homme de soixante-quinze ans, et une vieille femme de soixante-cinq ans, descendre donc chez le médecin et dire: «Docteur, nous aimerions prendre des dispositions pour une chambre d’hôpital, nous allons avoir un enfant.»
Le médecin dirait: «Monsieur, quel âge avez-vous?»
«Oh! juste soixante-quinze ans.»
«Et quel âge a-t-elle?»
«Soixante-cinq ans.»
«Oh! Oh! Assurément, monsieur, je–je vais vous dire quoi. Sortez calmement.» Il appellerait le psychiatre, descendrait et dirait: «Examinez l’esprit du vieil homme. Il y a quelque chose qui va de travers. Ne laissez pas cet homme dans la rue. Il représente un danger.»
Pourquoi? C’est ainsi qu’on considère tout celui qui jamais prend la Parole de Dieu. Dieu se sert de la folie de la prédication pour se manifester: Sa Parole, croire Sa Parole.
| E-56 This poor woman might've had many hindrances, but her faith didn't have any. No. You may have a lot of hindrances. Maybe your doctor says it can't happen. But if you've got faith, it don't make any difference what anybody else says; your faith don't have no hindrance. Your faith sees it. It's the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Abraham called the things which were not as though they were, because God said so.
Could you imagine Abraham, that old man? Now, he's seventy-five years old before God ever calls him. Sarah was sixty-five. That's about twenty years past menopause. God said she's going to have a baby, and He's going to... "through him I'll bless the world. With him, all nations... Call you the father of nations..."
Could you imagine an old man seventy-five years old, and a old woman sixty-five, going down now to the doctor, and saying, "Doctor, we'd like to make arrangements for a hospital room: going to have a baby."
The doctor'd say. "Sir, how old are you?"
"Oh, just seventy-five."
"How old is she?"
"Sixty-five."
"Oh, oh, sure, sir. I--I'll tell you. You slip out." He'd call the psychiatrist, and go down, and say, "Examine the old man's mind. There's something wrong. Don't let that man on the street. He's dangerous."
Why? Everybody that ever takes God's Word is considered that way. God takes the foolishness of preaching to manifest Hisself by: His Word, believing His Word.

E-57 Je vois les premiers vingt-huit jours passer. Maintenant, je peux voir... Eh bien, Abraham avait vécu avec cette femme depuis qu’elle était une petite jeune fille. C’était sa demi-soeur. Il l’avait épousée à l’âge d’environ dix-huit ans. Et alors, il est allé et a dit: «Sara, comment ça va, chérie? Pas de changement?»
«Pas du tout.»
«Gloire à Dieu, nous aurons de toute façon l’enfant. Apprête des chaussons, toutes les couches, et les–les épingles et tout. Apprête-toi. Nous allons l’avoir.»
«Comment sais-tu que nous allons l’avoir?»
«Dieu l’a dit.»
Le deuxième mois passa: «Sara, comment te sens-tu?»
«Pas de changement.»
«Gloire à Dieu.» Un autre mois, un miracle plus grand. Alléluia! Une année passa: «Comment te sens-tu, chérie?»
«Pas de changement.»
«Gloire! C’est plus glorieux d’une année.»
Et vingt-cinq ans passèrent. «Comment te sens-tu, Sara (vieille et faible), comment te sens-tu?»
«Pas de changement, chéri.»
«Gloire à Dieu! C’est un plus grand miracle, vingt-cinq ans après.»
Et nous nous disons la postérité d’Abraham. Hein! Nous avons le Saint-Esprit. «Eh bien, on a prié pour moi hier soir, mais je ne suis certainement pas guéri.» Vous êtes une piètre postérité d’Abraham. Abraham appelait ces choses qui n’étaient pas comme si elles étaient (Amen! Alléluia!), car il croyait que ce que Dieu avait promis, Dieu était assez grand pour tenir Sa promesse. Amen. Nous y sommes. La postérité d’Abraham, ne me laissez pas aborder cela.
| E-57 I see the first twenty-eight days pass. Now, I can see... Now, Abraham had lived with this woman since she was a little girl. It was his half-sister. She married him about eighteen years old. And so, he went over and said, "Sarah, how are you, honey? Any different?"
"Not a bit."
"Glory to God, we're going to have the baby anyhow. Get the booties ready, all the Birdeye, and the--the pins, and everything. Get ready. We're going to have it."
"How do you know you're going to have it?"
"God said so."
The second month passed. "How you feeling, Sarah?"
"No different."
"Glory to God. It's another month greater miracle. Hallelujah."
A year passed. "How you feeling, dear?"
"No different."
"Glory. It's a year greater."
And twenty-five years passed. "How you feeling, Sarah (old and feeble), how you feeling?"
"No different, dear."
"Glory to God. It's twenty-five years more a miracle."
And we say we're Abraham's seed. Uh-huh. We got the Holy Ghost. "Well, I was prayed for last night, but I sure didn't get healed." You're a poor excuse for Abraham's seed. Abraham called those things which were not as though they were. Amen. Hallelujah. For he believed that what God had promised, God was big enough to keep His Word. Amen. There we are. Abraham's seed, let me not get on that.

Elle avait entendu parler de Lui, qu’Il guérissait les autres. La foi vient de ce qu’on entend; elle était là. Elle est allée de l’avant malgré tout. Cela ne lui a pas fait obstacle.

Don't you go down, because our pastor's not sponsoring. (Oh, excuse me. All right.) Anyhow, you know, you belong to this. Don't--don't you go down there now, because..."
But that didn't stop her. She had faith. Faith had caught a hold. Why? She had a daughter that need healing, and she knowed there was a healing power. She heard about Him healing others. Faith cometh by hearing; here she was. She moved on anyhow. That didn't hinder her.

Elle était persévérante. La foi s’était déjà ancrée là-dedans, peu importe que le pasteur soit en train de collaborer, que sa dénomination ait cru cela ou pas, que ses membres aient cru cela, que quelqu’un à part elle ait cru cela. La foi est une affaire individuelle. Oui, oui. C’est à elle. Que les jours des miracles soient passés pour les autres ou pas, ce ne l’était pas pour elle.

But anyhow, it's all right. It'd be a compliment.) Say, "Listen, Melinda. You know what? The days of miracles is past. There is no such a thing. Don't you go down there. You're only going to bring disgrace."
She was perseverant. Faith had done anchored in there, no matter whether the pastor was cooperating, whether her denomination believed in it or not, whether her people believed in it, whether anybody believed besides her. Faith is an individual thing. Yes, sir. It's her. Whether the days of miracles was past for the rest of them or not, it wasn't for her.

E-60 Il y a un homme qui m’a dit il n’y a pas longtemps, il m’a dit: «Peu importe combien de gens tu pourrais guérir et tout comme cela, a-t-il dit, je ne crois pas dans la guérison.»
J’ai dit: «Certainement. Ce n’était pas pour les incroyants. Ça a été envoyé uniquement aux croyants. C’est uniquement pour eux, rien que les croyants.» Oh! Votre incrédulité ne vous amène nulle part, cela vous fait obstacle. C’est tout. Cela n’arrête pas Dieu. Dieu continue tout droit d’accomplir cela malgré tout.
Ils disaient: «Vous ne pouvez pas recevoir le Saint-Esprit. C’était donné uniquement aux douze apôtres.» Cela n’arrête pas Dieu. Il va droit de l’avant, accomplissant Cela, les gens reçoivent Cela. Ils peuvent ne pas être à mesure d’expliquer Cela, mais ils reçoivent Cela malgré tout.
Je ne peux pas vous dire comment une vache noire peut brouter de l’herbe verte et donner du lait blanc, mais c’est ce qu’elle fait. Tout à fait en ordre. Je ne peux donc pas expliquer cela. Je ne sais comment cela se fait, mais cela–cela se fait de toutes les façons. Je n’essaie pas d’expliquer cela. Si vous pouvez expliquer Dieu, alors ce n’est plus la foi. Tout ce que vous recevez de Dieu vient par la foi. Amen. Vous ne pouvez pas expliquer cela. Vous ne pouvez pas expliquer Dieu. Vous croyez Dieu. Amen.
| E-60 There was a fellow told me not long ago, said, "I don't care how many people you'd heal, or so forth like that." Said, "I don't believe in healing."
I said, "Certainly. It wasn't for unbelievers. It's just sent for believers. That's all it's for: just believers." Oh, your unbelief gets you nowhere, just hinders you. That's all. It don't stop God. God goes right on doing it just the same.
They said, "You can't get the Holy Ghost. It was only given for the twelve apostles." That don't stop God. He goes right ahead doing It, people getting It. They might not be able to explain it, but they got It just the same though.
I can't tell you how a black cow can eat green grass, and give white milk, but she does it. Just exactly right. So I can't explain it. I don't know how it's done, but it--it happens anyhow. I don't try to explain it. If you can explain God, then it's no more faith. Everything that you get from God comes by faith. Amen. You can't explain it. You can't explain God. You believe God. Amen.

«Tu sais quoi? Je vais te le dire, tu sais, ton mari est un homme d’affaires ici dans la ville, il te quittera. Aussi sûrement que tu y vas, tu va avoir un cas de divorce.» Elle était toujours tenace. Elle allait de toutes les façons. Elle était persévérante.
Certaines ont dit: «Tu sais, Melinda, la prochaine fois que tu viendras à l’église, tu vas être l’objet de risée de l’église, car tu vas là pour te rendre ridicule, te mêler à cette bande de saints exaltés.» Et elle était là–là. «Tu vois, tu vas être catégorisée comme l’un d’entre eux. Tout le monde à l’église rira de toi quand tu viendras le dimanche prochain.»
Elle était toujours tenace. Rien n’allait l’arrêter. Elle y va de toute façon. Quoi? La foi s’était ancrée. Elle était persévérante; rien n’allait ancrée. Elle allait l’arrêter de toute façon. Oui.
Et puis, voici venir un des anciens de l’église et il dit: «Tu sais quoi? Si tu vas à cette réunion-là, je vais te dire ce qui va arriver. Tu seras soumise à la discipline de l’église. C’est tout ce qu’il y a. On t’expulsera de l’église. Aussitôt que tu t’associes à cette bande de gens là-bas, avec ce fanatisme, tu vas certainement être expulsée de l’église.»
Elle était toujours persévérante. Elle allait. Rien n’allait l’arrêter. Elle va y aller.
| E-61 Now, "Days of miracles is past."... She was persistent. Another fine sister met her on the corner perhaps, said, "Where you going this morning?"
"I'm going to meet Jesus of Nazareth."
"Oh, He--He isn't of our denomination."
"Don't make any difference. I got a daughter has need, and she's going to be healed. I'm going to get her."
"You know what? I tell you, I know your husband's a businessman here in the city; he will leave you. As sure as you go, you're going to have a divorce case."
She was still persistent. She was going, anyhow. She was very perseverant.
Some of them said, "You know, Melinda, when you come to church the next time, you're going to be the laughing stock of the church, because you're going down there just to make a sap out of yourself, mix yourself up with that bunch of holy-rollers. And there--there you are. See, you're going to be classed as one of them. Everybody in church will laugh at you when you go next Sunday."
She was still persistent. Nothing going to stop her. She's going on anyhow. What? Faith had anchored. She was perseverant; nothing was going to stop her. She was going to go on anyhow. Yes.
And then, here come one of the elders of the church and said, "You know what? If you go down to that meeting, I'm telling you what's going to happen. You're going to be churched. That's all there is to it. They'll put you out of the church. As soon as you associate with that bunch of people down there with that fanaticism, you're sure going to be put out of the church.
She was still perseverant. She was going. Nothing was going to stop her. She's going to get there.

E-62 Elle est allée. Finalement, elle est arrivée. Eh bien, elle pensait que tout était terminé. C’est ça. Quand elle arrive donc auprès de Jésus, elle a dit... Jésus lui a fait savoir: «Je n’ai pas été envoyé à ta race. J’ai été seulement envoyé aux Juifs.» Oh! la la! Cela ne nous dégonflerait-il pas, nous les pentecôtistes? Pas elle, elle s’était emparée de quelque chose. Il a dit: «Je n’ai été envoyé qu’aux brebis perdues de la maison d’Israël. Je ne suis pas envoyé à vous, à votre race, aux gens de votre espèce, Je ne suis pas du tout envoyé.»
| E-62 Away she went. Finally she arrived. Now, she thought it was all over. That's it. So when she comes to Jesus, she said... She heard the rest of them calling Him, "Son of David." She said, "Thou Son of David..." Now, she was a Gentile: no "Son of David" to her, Him, that. Said now, "Thou Son of David, have mercy upon my daughter." And she met a disappointment after she got to Jesus. Oh, how strange, but she did. She had a disappointment.
Jesus let her know, that, "I'm not sent to your race. I'm only sent to the Jews." Oh, my. Wouldn't that have knocked some of the wind out of us Pentecostals. Not her, she had a hold of something. Said, "I'm not sent but to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. I'm not sent to you, your race, your kind of people, I'm not sent at all."

E-63 Après qu’elle avait dépassé toutes ces barrières, pour arriver auprès de Lui, et alors, une fois arrivée auprès de Lui, elle entend dire: «Je ne suis pas envoyé à vous, à votre race»; cela arrêtera-t-il la foi? Non, absolument pas.
Et alors, Il a dit: «A propos, vous n’êtes qu’une meute de petits chiens.» Oh! la la! Est-ce que cela–est-ce que cela ne nous désarçonnerait-il pas, nous les pentecôtistes? Oh! la la! Nous aurions explosé comme un crapaud mangeant... Nous aurions... Eh bien, nous aurions... Ça aurait été terrible. Nous avons...
Mais elle n’était pas une plante de serre. Elle n’avait pas à être aspergée comme une plante de serre. Elle n’était pas une hybride comme certaines des plantes d’aujourd’hui. Elle s’était emparée de la foi. Alléluia! Le problème aujourd’hui, c’est que nous avons beaucoup d’histoires hybrides. Exact.
| E-63 After she'd passed through all these barriers to get to Him, and then when she got to Him, hearing Him say that "I'm not sent to you, your race," will that stop faith? No, sir.
And then He said, "By the way, you're not nothing but a bunch of dogs." Oh, my. Would that--would that have knocked us Pentecostals. Oh, my. We'd have blowed up like a frog eating shot. We'd have... Why we would've... It would've been terrible. We have...
But she wasn't a hotbed plant. She didn't have to be sprayed like a hotbed plant. She wasn't a hybrid, like some of the crop of today. She had a hold of faith. Hallelujah. The trouble of it is today, we got too much hybrid stuff. Exactly.

E-64 J’ai lu un article dans Reader’s Digest, il n’y a pas longtemps, que les gens, nos femmes qui mangent cette viande de boeuf hybride, du maïs hybride, toutes ces histoires-là, des pop-corn, que leurs hanches se rétrécissent. Et dans vingt ans, si rien n’est fait, la science dit que les femmes ne pourront pas avoir des enfants. Cela tue. Tout ce qui est hybride est mauvais.
Je descendais... J’ai vu un grand écriteau, il y était mentionné: «Funk’s?... (ou quelque chose comme cela) du maïs hybride, le meilleur.» De très gros épis de maïs, mais ce n’est pas bon. Ça ne vaut rien. Essayez de replanter cela et voyez ce qui arrivera.
Eh bien, cela coince la science et prouve que leur propre argument sur l’origine de l’homme est faux. Prenez n’importe quoi et croisez cela, hybridez-le, et cela ne peut pas se reproduire. Vous prenez une–une jument et vous la croisez avec un mâle, cela reproduira un mulet. Mais ce mulet ne peut pas se reproduire et mettre bas un autre mulet. Cela le tue là même. C’est vrai.
| E-64 I read a piece in the "Reader's Digest" not long ago, where people--our women eating this hybrid beef, hybrid corn, and all that stuff, corn flakes, that they're growing narrower in the hips. And twenty years from now, if something isn't done, science says that the woman cannot have her baby. It's a killing. Anything that's hybrid is wrong.
I come down... I seen a great big sign on, said, "Funk's (or something like that) Hybrid Corn, the best." Great big, fine ears, but it's no good. It's not worth nothing. You try to plant it over and see what'll happen.
Now, that takes science and proves their own argument's wrong about the origin of man. You take anything and cross breed it, hybreed it, and it can't breed itself back again. You take a--a mare horse and breed it to a jack, and it'll bring forth a mule. But that mule cannot breed back and get another mule. It kills it right there. That's right.

Peu importe, il attendra toute sa vie pour vous faire une ruade avant de mourir. Vous le savez.

«Je suis méthodiste.» «Je suis baptiste.» «Je suis presbytérien. Je suis...» Oh! Vous ne savez même pas d’où vous venez.

That's the way with some of these hybrid religions today. They don't know who their papa is. Say, "Are you a Christian?"
"I'm Methodist." "I'm Baptist." "I'm Presbyterian. I'm..." Oh, you don't even know where you come from.

You can tell him something; he will punctuate every Word of God with an "Amen."

I know--I know where he come from. Yes, sir. He's a son of God. Yes, indeed.
But that mule, that hybrid, squeezed off here and took his papers from one church over to another one, and over to another one. Why don't you put it up there one time, on the Lamb's Book of Life where it won't come off? Amen. You know I feel pretty religious right now, myself. Talk about... I feel like I could shout. Yes, sir. Oh, sure. She didn't have to spray her over. Hybrid.

What we need today is a good old fashion Saint Paul's revival, and the Bible Holy Ghost, and the power of God back into the church again to bring it out. Yes, we do. That's exactly right.

Il y avait un vieux saint assis là dans un coin, il a donné un coup à un autre, il a dit: «S’il était monté tel qu’il est descendu, il serait descendu tel qu’il était monté.» C’est tout à fait ainsi que ça se passe aujourd’hui, frère. Nous devons nous abaisser. Nous devons nous abaisser une fois de plus au niveau du Saint-Esprit, nous abaisser au niveau de la Bible, revenir à la véritable Parole de Dieu.

They just set there and looked.
And after while he found out it didn't go, so he closed up all of his notes, and went down off the platform with his shoulders all humbled down like this.
There was an old saint setting over in the corner, punched the other one, said, "If he would've went up the way he come down, he'd come down the way he went up." That's just about the way it is today, brother. We ought to come down. We got to come down to the Holy Ghost again, down to the Bible, back to the real Word of God.

Mais elle cherchait des miettes.

When we're not invited to crumbs, we're invited to the table. But she was after crumbs.
Remember, she was a Gentile. She'd never seen a miracle. But something had anchored in her that she believed in one. She didn't have to see nothing done. They wasn't... He didn't have to prove to her He was Messiah.

And then when she got there, and He called her a dog, and everything else, that didn't stop her faith. And sometimes we can be prayed for, and say, "Huh. Must not be nothing to it. Don't feel any different." Abraham's seed, persistent, Christians, ought to bow our head in shame. That's right. Yes.
But she, no matter what... Even when she was in the Presence of Jesus Christ and was rejected by Him, she still held on. Jesus said, "For this saying, the devil's left your daughter."
See, she knowed how to approach the gift of God. She didn't come, say, "Well, I'll go see what He does. And if He can do these things; maybe it's mental telepathy; maybe it's psychology, maybe it's some hoax; maybe it's a makeup." She'd have never got her healing that she asked for. But she come in the right way, and she received what she asked for. Faith always admits the Word is right. She was persistent.

Why the... He just said, "I do nothing till the Father shows Me." The Father told Him. Then when Lazarus died, He said, "I'm glad for your sake I wasn't there, but I go wake him." Remember, at the grave He said, "I say this for their sake." He knowed what was going to happen, 'cause the Father had showed Him.

Martha had a right. She said, "Well, it's my American privilege if I want to do that.

She said, "I am."
I said, "Then you're a lamb, and a lamb forfeits its rights."
As an American Christian, American citizen, I've got a right to drink, smoke, do whatever I want to, buy liquor. But I forfeit that. I'm not of... I live in this nation, but I'm a pilgrim. My home's above. Every other Christian that's born of above lives from above.

There's a spirit amongst people. Oh, mercy. Get to the right thing. This... Why not... If you can have a bogus, why not get a right one? Why would we forfeit the real thing for a bogus one, when the whole skies are full of genuine Pentecostal blessings? Amen. Why would we take a substitute for anything? Amen. Believe with all your heart. Don't you doubt a bit, but you believe that God's Word is right. Yes, sir.

E-77 Eh bien, Marthe s’est approchée de Lui, elle a dit: «Seigneur, si Tu eusses été ici, mon frère ne serait pas mort.» Oh! la la! C’est ça être persistant, franchir chaque barrière. «Si Tu eusses été ici, mon frère ne serait pas mort.»
Il a dit: «Je suis la Résur-... Ton frère ressuscitera.»
Elle a dit: «Oui, Seigneur. C’était un bon garçon. Il ressuscitera à la résurrection générale.»
Il a dit: «Je suis la Résurrection et la Vie. Celui qui croit en Moi vivra, quand bien même il serait mort; et quiconque vit et croit en Moi ne mourra jamais. Crois-tu cela?»
Elle a dit: «Oui, Seigneur. Je crois que Tu es le Fils de Dieu qui devait venir dans le monde.»
Peu importe combien elle avait été déçu par les autres actes, le temps était arrivé où elle avait saisi la foi. Savez-vous où, je pense, elle avait reçu cela? Quand elle lisait la Bible et qu’elle avait vu là où cette femme sunamite...
| E-77 Now. Martha walked up to Him, said, "Lord, if You would've been here my brother would not have died." Oh, my. That's persistent, breaking through every barrier. "If You'd have been here, my brother would not have died."
He said, "I am the resur... Your brother shall rise again."
She said, "Yea, Lord. He's a good boy. He will come in the general resurrection."
He said, "I am the Resurrection and Life. He that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live. And whosoever liveth and believeth in Me shall never die. Believest thou this?"
She said, "Yea, Lord. I believe that You are the Son of God that was to come into the world."
No matter how much she'd disappointed in other acts, the time had come where she caught faith. You know where I believe she got it? When she read the Bible, and seen where that Shunammite woman...

E-78 Ce jour-là, le représentant de Dieu... Dieu n’a jamais manqué de représentant sur la terre. Toujours, dans chaque âge. Et Son représentant à l’époque était un prophète, Elie. Et elle était vieille, cette femme Sunamite, elle n’avait pas d’enfants. Et Elie avait prié pour elle, il l’avait bénie, il avait prophétisé, il lui avait dit qu’elle aurait un enfant. Et elle en avait eu. Environ... Il avait atteint dix ou douze ans, l’enfant devait avoir attrapé une insolation. Il a crié: «Ma tête, ma tête.» Vers la mi-journée, le père a demandé à un serviteur de le ramener et de le mettre sur les genoux de maman. Et l’enfant est mort. Quel endroit approprié où amener l’enfant, le déposer sur le lit du prophète, là où le prophète se couchait!
Et puis, elle a dit: «Selle le mulet. Va tout droit, et ne parle à personne, mais continue.»
| E-78 That day, God's representative... God's never without a representative in the earth: always, every age. And His representative then was a prophet, Elijah. And she was old, this Shunammite woman had no children. And Elijah prayed for her, and blessed her, and prophesied, and told her she'd have a child. And she had it. About... Got about ten or twelve years old, the child must've had a sunstroke. He cried, "My head, my head." About the in middle of the day. Father had a servant bring him in, set him on the mother's lap. And the baby died. What an appropriate place to take the baby and lay him on the prophet's bed, where the prophet had been laying.
And then she said, "Saddle a mule. Go straight, and don't you speak to anybody, but go on."

E-79 Et quand le prophète vint... Dieu ne révèle pas toujours tout à ses prophètes, mais juste ce qu’Il veut qu’ils sachent. Et il a dit: «Voici venir cette Sunamite.» Il a dit à Guéhazi, il a dit: «Elle est triste, mais Dieu me l’a caché.» Il a dit: «Te portes-tu bien? Ton mari se porte-t-il bien? Ton fils se porte-t-il bien?»
Regardez ça. J’aime ça. Elle a dit: «Tout va bien»: Son enfant était mort.
Mais elle était devant le serviteur de Dieu. Elle savait que si Dieu pouvait dire à ce serviteur-là qu’elle aurait un enfant, celui-ci pouvait lui dire pourquoi Dieu avait retiré l’enfant. Elle s’est donc tenue là. Alors, elle s’est prosternée devant lui, elle a commencé à révéler.
| E-79 And when the prophet come... God don't always tell His prophets everything, just what He wants them to know. And said, "Here comes that Shunammite." He said to Gehazi, said, "She's got sorrow in her heart, but God's kept it from me." He said, "Is all well with thee? Is all well with Thy husband? Is all well with the child?"
Look at that. I like that. She said, "All is well": her baby dead.
But she was before the servant of God. She knew if God could tell that servant she'd have the baby, he could tell why He took the baby. So she stood there. Then she fell down before him, begin to reveal.

E-80 Eh bien, c’est là, je pense, que Paul a tiré l’imposition des mains sur les mouchoirs. Voyez-vous? Il a dit, il a dit à Guéhazi: «Prends mon bâton, ceins tes reins. Mais la foi de la femme n’était pas dans le bâton; c’était dans le prophète. Elle s’est attachée à Lui. Elle a dit: «L’Eternel Dieu est vivant et ton âme ne mourra jamais, je ne te quitterai pas.» Et Guéhazi... Je veux dire, Elie est allé avec elle. Il est allé là, il a étendu son corps sur cet enfant mort, il a fait les cents pas dans la pièce, il a mis son visage sur celui de l’enfant, et l’enfant a éternué sept fois et il est revenu à la vie. Et quoi? Parce que cette Sunamite avait dit: «Ne t’arrête pas. Ne t’encombre pas des affaires sociales. Va vers la Parole.»
Et elle savait... Marthe savait que si–si Elie... Si Dieu était dans Elie pour manifester, ancrer cette foi-là, à combien plus forte raison était-Il dans Christ le Fils de Dieu? C’était donc la raison pour laquelle elle était très persistante devant Jésus. La femme Sunamite l’avait aussi été devant Elie.
| E-80 Now, that's where I think Paul got laying handkerchiefs. You see? He said, told Gehazi, "Take my staff, gird up your loins. And if anybody speaks to you, don't you speak back. Just go on, lay this staff on the baby." See, he knowed whatever he had touched was blessed, if he could just get the woman to believe it.
But the woman's faith wasn't in the staff; it was in the prophet. She held him. She said, "As the Lord God lives and your soul never dies, I'll not leave you." And Gehazi... I mean, Elijah went with her. And he went there, and laid his body upon that dead baby, walked back and forth in the room, put his face upon the baby, and the baby sneezed seven times and come to life. And what? Because that Shunammite woman, "Don't stop. Don't have any social affairs. Get to the Word."
And she knew... Martha knew if--if Elijah... If God was in Elijah to bring forth, to anchor that faith, how much more was He in Christ the Son of God? So that's the reason she was very persistent in the face of Jesus. So was the Shunammite woman in the face of--of Elijah.

E-81 Il y eut une femme juste sur la côte ici, j’en ai parlé. Elle est venue à la maison et je venais de rentrer. Et la femme venait de quelque part ici. Elle... Certaines personnes qui sont ici connaissent la femme, l’administrateur, l’un d’eux, assis ici maintenant, c’est lui qui avait aidé à la transporter. Elle avait une tumeur qui pesait cinquante livres [22 kg], comme ceci. Je suis entré dans l’église. Je n’arrivais pas à prier pour les malades cette nuit-là. Je venais de rentrer. J’allais sortir.
Et–et alors, cette femme fut très persistante, elle venait de loin, elle avait demandé aux diacres et aux administrateurs de la transporter jusqu’à la petite porte par laquelle je sortais. Et quand je sortais par là, elle a tendu la main et m’a saisi par la jambe. Et elle a dit: «Frère Branham, je crois que si vous demandez à Dieu, Dieu me guérira.»
Et je me suis simplement arrêté, je lui ai imposé la main, et j’ai dit: «Soeur, que le Dieu du Ciel honore votre foi.»
Elle était grasse comme ceci. Elle... Ils ne pouvaient pas... Ils devaient la transporter. Et ils l’ont donc fait asseoir là, à cette petite porte derrière, le derrière de l’église. Et environ trois mois plus tard, elle est passée par là en criant et en poussant des cris, tout aussi forte que moi.
Et il y a environ une semaine ou deux, là à Cow Palace à Los Angeles, à South Gate, je disais l’une ou l’autre chose à ce sujet là une soirée. Elle a sauté de là, elle a dit: «Me voici encore.» Elle était parfaitement normale.
Pourquoi? Elle avait été tenace. Elle avait voyagé, elle avait dépensé ses subsides, elle avait traversé toute sorte de choses, dans une petite vieille caravane, cherchant à arriver là. On devait lui apporter sa nourriture, et c’est ce que son mari a dû faire. Mais elle avait été tenace. Elle allait s’accrocher à cela. Assurément. Sa foi s’était emparée de la Parole et elle allait s’en tenir à cela.
| E-81 There's a woman just down the coast here I was telling about. She come up home, and I was come in. And the woman's from out here somewhere. She... Some of the people that's here knows the woman, the trustee, one of them, setting here now, that helped pack her out. She had a fifty pound tumor, out like this. And I'd walked into the church. I couldn't pray for the sick that night. I'd just come in. I was going to go out.
And--and so, that woman was so persistent, she'd come so far, she had the deacons and trustees to pack her around to a little door where I went out. And when I went out there, she held her hand across and caught me by the leg. And she said, "Brother Branham, I believe that if you will ask God, God will heal me."
And I just stopped, and laid my hand upon her, and I said, "Sister, may the God of heaven honor your faith."
She was this big. She... They couldn't--they had to pack her. And so they'd set her down there at the little back door at the back of the church. And about three months after that, she come through there shouting and screaming, just as flat as I am.
And about a week or two ago down here at the Cow Palace at Los Angeles, at South Gate, I was saying something or another about it there one night. And she jumped up from there, said, "Here I am yet." She was perfectly normal.
Why? She was persistent. She'd traveled; she'd spent her living; she'd come over every kind of a thing, in a little old trailer, trying to get there. They had to pack her food to her, and how her husband had to do. But she was persistent. She was going to stay with it. Sure. Her faith had a hold of the Word, and she was going to stay with it.

E-82 Michée, alors que quatre cents prophètes bien habillés se tenaient là, disant à Achab et aux autres: «Montes-y, l’Eternel est avec toi», Michée a dit: «Montes-y, si tu veux. Mais l’Eternel m’a parlé, et j’ai vu Israël dispersé comme des brebis sur une colline.» Pourquoi? Alors que quatre cents prophétisaient le contraire de ce que lui disait, comment pouvait-il être si sûr? C’est parce que sa vision s’accordait avec la Parole de Dieu. C’est pourquoi il connaissait cela. Oh! Combien j’aurais bien voulu avoir une heure maintenant pour prêcher là même!
Si votre vision ne s’accorde pas avec la Parole, oubliez votre vision. Quand vous savez que votre vision est en ligne avec la Parole... Le grand prophète avait dit à Achab... Il l’avait maudit, et il lui avait dit que les chiens lècheraient son sang à cause du juste Naboth, de ce qu’il avait fait. Et comment Dieu pouvait-Il...
Peu importe combien ces prophètes avaient prophétisé et dit... Eh bien, ils avaient eu une raison là. Ils ont dit: «Regardez ça. Ramoth en Galaad, Josué nous a donné cela. Ça nous appartient. Ce blé qui est cultivé là devrait nourrir les Israélites, pas notre ennemi. Assurément, c’était vrai.» Voyez, intellectuellement, ils pensaient que cela était correct.
C’est là que vous venez intellectuellement, essayant de placer quelque chose, et parfois la foi est très opposée à cela. Le médecin dit: «Regardez ça. Vous ne pouvez pas vivre, monsieur. Ce cancer s’est répandu sur vous.» Mais laissez la foi s’ancrer là une fois et puis observez ce qui arrive.
| E-82 Micaiah, when there was four hundred well-dressed prophets standing there saying to Ahab and them, "Go up. The Lord's with you," Micaiah said, "Go on up, if you want to. But the Lord told me, and I seen Israel scattered like sheep on a hill." Why? When four hundred prophets prophesying contrary to what he was, how could he be so sure? Because his vision compared with the Word of God. That's the reason he knowed it. Oh, how I wish I had about a hour now to preach right there.
If your vision don't compare with the Word, forget about your vision. When you know your vision is lined in the Word... The great prophet had told Ahab... He cursed him, and told him that the dogs would lick His blood on account of righteous Naboth, the things he'd done. And how could God...
No matter how much these prophets prophesied, and said... Why, they had a reason now. They said, "Look here. Ramoth-Gilead, Joshua gave that to us. That belongs to us. That corn that's being raised over there, ought to be feeding the Israelites, not our enemy. Sure, that's right." See, intellectually they thought it was right.
That's where you come intellectually trying to place something, and sometimes faith is very contrary to that. The doctor say, "Looky here. You can't live, man. This cancer's wrapped around you." But let faith anchor there one time, and watch what happens.

E-83 Michée s’est tenu là au milieu d’eux. Je peux les entendre tenir leur réunion. Vous savez, on l’avait expulsé de l’association des ministres. Alors, ils–ils ont dit: «Michée, si tu prophétises la même chose que les autres du comité ont prophétisé, tu sais, tu pourras revenir.»
Il a dit: «Moi? Je ne dirai que ce que Dieu placera dans ma bouche.»
Ô frère! Ce dont nous avons besoin, c’est davantage de Michée, le fils de Jimla, vous savez. Et ce... Tenez, il s’est tenu là avec ce grand et puissant... Il a dit: «Montes-y...»
Et il a prophétisé le contraire parce qu’il était... avec quatre cents hommes qui se tenaient là, l’un d’eux l’a même giflé à la bouche. Il a dit: «Ramenez ce gars, mettez-le dans la cour intérieure de la prison, et mettez-le au cachot. Et à mon retour, je m’occuperai de lui.»
Il a dit: «Si jamais vous retournez, Dieu ne m’a pas parlé.» Pourquoi? Il était tenace. Il savait où il se tenait.
| E-83 Micaiah stood there in the midst of them. I can hear them meeting. You know, they'd put him out of the ministerial association. So they--they said, "Micaiah, if you'll prophesy the same thing the rest of the board does, you know, they might take you back."
He said, "Me? I'll say only what God puts in my mouth to say."
Oh, brother. What we need is some more Micaiahs, sons of Imlah, you know. And that... Here he stood there with that great, powerful... He said, "Go on up..." And he prophesied contrary, because he was... With four hundred men standing, one of them smacked him in the mouth, even.
Said, "Take this fellow back, and put him in the inner courts in the jail, and put him in stocks. And when I return back I'll deal with him."
He said, "If you come back at all, God didn't speak to me." Why? He was persistent. He knowed where he was standing.

E-84 L’homme aveugle qui était né aveugle, ses yeux avaient été guéris. Il ne pouvait pas discuter de la théologie avec eux. Ils ont dit: «Nous savons que cet Homme-là est un démon. Il ne s’accorde pas avec notre organisation.»
Il a dit: «C’est une chose étrange pour moi. Vous êtes les conducteurs du pays. Voici, un Homme m’a ouvert les yeux, cela ne s’est jamais fait dans le monde entier, nous n’avons jamais appris cela, et alors vous, les conducteurs religieux, vous ne–ne savez pas d’où Il vient. C’est une chose étrange.»
Il avait une très bonne théologie avec laquelle débattre, ne le pensez-vous donc pas? Il en avait certainement. C’est la seule chose qu’il connaissait. Il a dit: «Qu’Il soit pécheur ou pas, je ne sais pas. Mais ce que je sais, c’est qu’autrefois j’étais aveugle, maintenant je vois.» Amen. C’est la seule chose qu’il savait avec certitude. Il avait été tenace avec cela.
| E-84 The blind man that had been born blind, his eyes were healed. He couldn't argue theology with them. They said, "We know this man is a devil. He don't agree with our organization."
He said, "It's a strange thing to me. You're the leaders of the land, and here a Man opened my eyes--had never been done in all the world that we ever knowed of, and then you, the religious leaders, you not--know not whence He come. That's a strange thing."
He had pretty good theology to argue with, don't you think so? He sure did. One thing he knowed. He said, "Whether He's a sinner or not, I don't know. But wherein I was once blind, I can now see." Amen. That's one thing he knowed for sure. He was persistent with it.

E-85 Nathanaël aussi avait été tenace pour Le reconnaître comme le Christ, quand il a vu cette chose mystérieuse se produire, quand Il a dit: «Je t’ai vu quand tu étais sous le figuier.»
Il a dit: «Tu es le Fils de Dieu, le Roi d’Israël.»
Cette petite femme au puits était tenace, quand Il lui a dit qu’elle avait cinq maris. Quand Il a accompli cela devant le groupe de Juifs instruits, ceux-ci ont dit: «Il est Béelzébul.» Mais cette petite femme a dit: «Je vois que Tu es Prophète. Nous savons que quand le Messie sera venu, Il nous annoncera ces choses.»
Il a dit: «Je Le suis.»
Eh bien, arrêtez-la. Dans la ville... Elle a dit: «Venez voir un Homme qui m’a dit ce que j’ai fait. Ne serait-ce point le Messie même?»
Comment pouvez-vous empêcher Simon Pierre de prêcher l’Evangile, même s’il ne pouvait pas écrire son propre nom, alors que Jésus avait dit: «Ton nom est Simon, tu es le fils de Jonas.» Il savait que c’était le Messie. Il n’y avait pas moyen de l’arrêter.
| E-85 So was Nathanael persistent to recognize Him to be the Christ, when he saw that mysterious thing take place, when He said, "I saw you when you were under the fig tree."
He said, "Thou art the Son of God, the King of Israel."
That little woman was persistent at the well, when He told her she had five husbands. When He did that in front of the Jewish educational group, they said, "He's Beelzebub."
But this little woman said, "I perceive that You're a prophet. We know when Messiah cometh, He will tell us these things."
He said, "I'm He."
Now, stop her. Into the city... She said, "Come see a Man Who told me what I've done. Isn't this the very Messiah."
How could you stop Simon Peter from preaching the Gospel, even if he couldn't write his own name, when Jesus said, "Your name is Simon, and you're the son of Jonas?" He knowed that was Messiah. There's no way of stopping him.

E-86 Il n’y a pas longtemps, là au Mexique (Et je termine.), nous tenions une série de réunions là, et j’avais une grande tâche. C’est un grand pays catholique, et vous tous, pratiquement, vous les ministres, vous connaissez le général Valdena. C’est lui–lui qui m’avait fait venir.
Le gouvernement... L’évêque de l’église catholique était allé parler au président, disant: «Eh bien, vous faites venir un ca... un non-catholique ici.»

Il a dit: «Eh bien, il n’y a que les gens du peuple sans instruction qui y vont.»
Il a dit: «Vous les avez eus pendant cinq cents ans. Pourquoi restent-ils les gens du peuple sans instruction?» Je pense que cela avait déplumé. Voyez?

The government... The bishop of the Catholic church went up, told the president, said, "Well, you're bringing a Ca--a non-Catholic in here."
He said, "Well," said, "General Valdena says it's a reputable person."
Said, "Well," said, "there isn't nothing like that in here." Said, "You... We can't do that."
He said, "Why," he said, "they tell me that thousands of people come out to his meetings," the president said.
He said, "Well, nothing goes out there but just the ignorant and unlearned."
He said, "You've had them five hundred years. Why are they ignorant and unlearned?" Guess that would crop off the feathers. See?

J’ai regardé, ses yeux étaient blancs de cataracte. Et il est passé là, et il a mis la main dans sa poche, il a fait sortir le petit chapelet, il s’est mis à dire le Je vous salue Marie, vous savez. Et alors, je lui ai dit: «Arrêtez ça.»
Et frère Espinosa l’a arrêté. Il a remis cela dans sa poche, il a marmonné quelque chose en Espagnol. Je ne pouvais pas comprendre, je ne connais pas l’espagnol.
| E-87 When we come down there, we had just three nights to stay. The second night there, I'll never forget it. An old Mexican come across the platform, poor old fellow. You all know Brother Espinosa, nearly all of you. I think he belongs to the Assemblies of God. He was my interpreter, standing by my side. Business Men's "Voice" had to pack this article. And Brother Espinosa stopped him. He put them in his pocket, and he mumbling off something in Spanish. I couldn't understand, don't know Spanish.

It's not right. And I told them it wasn't right. I said, "It's not right. You have to pay nothing. Christ died to free you." A million-dollar gold altar with a candle on it, and starving people to death, with some priest to bless it. What's a candle got to do with it? Christ died. His Blood saves us from sin and trespasses. It's a free gift of God. You don't do one thing to--to merit it. It's the grace of God.

Vous devez sympathiser avec les gens. Si vous ne le pouvez pas, vous ne pourrez jamais aider quelqu’un. C’est... vous... Cela... Vous devez sympathiser avec les gens. Vous devez prendre cela sur vous-mêmes. Et j’ai simplement fait passer mes bras autour de lui, et j’ai dit: «Père céleste, sois miséricordieux envers ce pauvre vieil homme.» J’ai dit... Et j’ai regardé là dans l’assistance, je l’ai vu se tenir debout, me regardant, en face de moi là, ayant recouvré la vue. Je savais que si jamais il ouvrait les yeux, c’était terminé.
J’ai simplement attendu quelques minutes, et il a crié: «Gloria Dios!» Gloire à Dieu! Vous savez. Il pouvait voir là tout aussi bien que moi, il a contourné l’estrade.
| E-89 He come across there. And I took him in my arms, and I thought, "See if my shoes would fit him. I'll just slip them off." There was a big banister there. Give him my coat, but his shoulders were much bigger, and his feet much larger.
I thought, "Poor old fellow. Probably never eat a decent meal in his life." And I thought, "And there, nature... Look what's happened to him. He's blind; he's a poor old fellow. If my daddy would've lived, he'd been about that age."
You have to feel for people. If you can't, you can never help anybody. That's... You... That... You've got to feel for them. You got to take it upon yourself. And I just put my arms around him, and I said, "Heavenly Father, be merciful to this poor old man." I said... And I looked out there, and I seen him standing looking at me, out in front of me out there, with his eyesight. I knowed if he ever opened his eyes, it was over.
I just waited a few minutes, and he hollered, "Gloria a Dios." Glory to God. you know. There he could see as good as I could, walked around on the platform.

E-90 La soirée suivante, il y avait un... L’estrade était pratiquement aussi longue que celle-ci, c’était simplement entassé, à cette hauteur, avec de vieux châles et autres. Et vous parlez d’avoir à venir et vous asseoir une demi-heure, ou plutôt une heure ou deux dans l’église? Ils étaient venus à huit heures ce matin-là, non pas pour s’asseoir, rester debout penchés les uns contre les autres, penchés comme des brebis sous un soleil chaud. Et je n’allais pas être là avant vingt et une heures ou vingt et une heures trente cette soirée-là. Ils sont restés toute la journée durant, rien; ils se tenaient simplement là attendant que je vienne.
Cette nuit-là, la pluie tombait à verse, les gens étaient très nombreux (Oh! la la!), tel grand groupe, tel groupe-là, et je ne pouvais pas entrer. On m’a fait contourner de l’autre côté, ils m’ont mis une corde tout autour, ils m’ont fait descendre sur l’estrade par-dessus ce groupe-là: la pluie tombait à verse. Y a-t-il quelqu’un parmi vous qui connaît frère Jack Moore? Je pense que beaucoup parmi vous le connaissent. Il était avec moi, ainsi que frère Espinosa, là à Mexico City.
| E-90 Next night, there was a... Platform was just about as long as this, just piled that high of old shawls and things. And you talk about having to come and set a half hour, or a hour or two in church? They come at eight o'clock that morning, not set down, stand leaning against one another, leaning like sheep in that hot sun. And I wouldn't be there till nine or nine-thirty that night. They stayed all day long, nothing, just standing there waiting to come.
That night, pouring down rain, they were so many (Oh, my.), that big ring, the ring out there, and I couldn't get in. They brought me around the other side, and put a rope around me, and let me down on the platform off the top of that ring: pouring down rain. Any of you know Brother Jack Moore? I guess many of you do. And he was with me, and Brother Espinosa, and down there in Mexico City.

Ainsi donc, je l’appelais toujours Mañana. Et il distribuait les cartes de prière et il avait déjà distribué toutes les cartes de prière.
| E-91 And I got out, started to preach. And I was preaching "Faith, the Substance of Things Hoped For, the Evidence of Things not Seen," and Brother Espinosa giving the interpretation. And as I was preaching, Billy come, my son, and caught me by the coat. Said, "Daddy, you're just going to have to do something."
I said, "What's the matter?"
Said, "A little woman standing over there..."
Said, "I've got a hundred and fifty ushers or more, standing out there." And said, "Manana..."
I called him... Manana (means "tomorrow.") That's the slowest man I ever seen in my life. He was supposed to pick me up at seven o'clock, and he'd get me about nine. So then, I always called him Manana. And he'd give out the prayer cards, and he'd done give out all the prayer cards.

E-92 Alors une petite femme mexicaine qui avait amené son enfant (une catholique donc) pour qu’on prie pour elle la veille... Et je parlais de la Bible, comment Jésus était... Elle avait vu ce discernement s’exercer là, et on désignait ces gens dans cette assistance, et elle les avait vus se lever de leurs civières, rien qu’en croyant cela, et elle les avait vus se lever comme cela.
Elle avait là un petit enfant malade, qui souffrait de pneumonie, elle essayait de le calmer. Elle n’avait pas reçu de carte de prière ni rien, et il est mort le lendemain matin vers neuf heures dans le cabinet du médecin. Et elle a amené cet enfant-là. Au lieu de l’amener à la–à la morgue, elle l’a amené là et s’est tenue sous la pluie toute la journée avec cet enfant mort. Et Mañana ne lui avait pas donné une carte. Elle n’avait pas de carte, elle n’allait pas être dans la ligne de prière, mais elle était déterminée à arriver là de toute façon.
Et on ne pouvait pas... il y avait cent cinquante, ou deux cents huissiers, qui n’arrivaient pas à arrêter cette petite femme. Elle leur passait entre les jambes en courant, elle leur sautait par-dessus les épaules, elle leur montait sur les épaules, et se mettait à sauter de l’un à l’autre, avec un enfant mort dans les bras, une toute petite femme.
| E-92 And a little Mexican woman who'd brought her baby over (Catholic, now) to be prayed for the night before... And I talked about the Bible, how Jesus was... She'd watched that discernment go out there and pick out those people out in that audience and see them rise up off them cots, simple, just believing it, and seen them rise up like that.
She had a little sick baby there with pneumonia, trying to keep it quiet. She didn't get a prayer card or nothing, and it died the next morning at about nine o'clock in the doctor's office. And here she took that baby. Instead of taking it to the--to the mortuary, she brought it over there and stood in that rain all day long with that dead baby. And Manana never give her a card. She didn't have a card, and she wasn't going to be in the prayer line, but she was determined to get there anyhow.
And they couldn't--had a hundred and fifty, or two hundred ushers that couldn't stop that little woman. She'd run between their legs, jump over their shoulders, get up on top of their shoulders, and start jumping from one another, with a dead baby in her arms, a little bitty woman.

E-93 Alors, Billy est venu vers moi, il a dit: «Papa, il le faut donc aller là faire quelque chose à ce sujet, a-t-il dit, car nous n’arrivons à rien faire avec elle. Elle dérange toute cette rangée de... l’endroit là.»
Et j’ai dit: «Frère Jack Moore...» J’ai dit: «Frère Jack, descends prier pour elle. Elle ne me connaît pas, et elle ne saura pas si c’est moi. Elle ne peut pas parler anglais. Et va simplement lui parler, va prier pour l’enfant.»
Il a dit: «D’accord, Frère Branham.»
Il partait, et j’ai dit: «Frère Espinosa...» Frère Espinosa peut être ici. Etes-vous ici, Frère Espinosa? Le... Vous... Combien connaissent frère Espinosa? Le Mexicain... Oh! Assurément, je savais que vous le connaissez. Alors–alors, il se tenait là, et j’ai dit: «Frère Espinosa, va de l’avant, dis ce que je disais.» J’ai dit: «Comme je le disais donc, comme le Seigneur Jésus, par la foi, fait opérer Son don...»
J’ai regardé, et là devant moi se tenait un petit enfant mexicain sans dents, en train de rire, pendant qu’il me regardait. Et j’ai dit: «Ça doit être cet enfant-là.» J’ai dit: «Ne dis pas ça, Frère Espinosa. Attends une minute.» Frère Jack quittait l’estrade à ce moment-là. J’ai dit: «Juste une minute, Frère Jack.» Je suis allé là. J’ai dit: «Billy, dégagez la ligne et faites-la venir.»
| E-93 And Billy come to me; he said, "Daddy, you're just going to have to go over there and do something about it," said, "because we can't do nothing with her. She's disturbing that whole section of the--place over there."
And I said, "Brother Jack Moore..." I said, "Brother Jack, go down and pray for her. She don't know me, and she won't know but what it's me. She can't speak English. And just go tell her, and go pray for the baby."
He said, "All right, Brother Branham."
He started off, and I said, "Brother Espinosa..." Brother Espinosa may be here. Are you here, Brother Espinosa? The... You... How many knows Brother Espinosa? The Mexican... Oh, sure, I knowed you did. So--so he was standing there, and I said, "Brother Espinosa, go ahead, say was I saying." I said, "As I was saying now, as the Lord Jesus, by faith He operates His gi..."
I looked, standing here in front of me, and there was a little Mexican baby with no teeth, just laughing, looking at me. And I thought, "That must be that baby." I said, "Don't say it, Brother Espinosa. Wait a minute." Brother Jack was going off the platform about then. I said, "Just a minute, Brother Jack." I walked over. I said, "Billy, open up the line and bring her up."

E-94 On la maintenait abaissée parce que ce n’était pas correct. Les autres avaient des cartes de prière, et ils étaient arrivés là et ils avaient obtenu des cartes. Ainsi donc, on devait traiter tout le monde correctement. J’ai dit: «Je viens de voir quelque chose.» On l’a donc fait venir. Elle est arrivée là, elle s’est agenouillée sur le pavement, et elle a dit: «Padre [Père].»
J’ai dit: «Non, non, non. Levez-vous.» Une belle petite femme, elle paraissait être dans la vingtaine, une petite créature mexicaine avec peu de cheveux qui lui retombaient sur les épaules comme cela, et avec de très gros yeux, les larmes lui coulaient sur les joues. Elle a dit: «Padre...» là, disant quelque chose. Et j’ai dit...
Frère Espinosa a dit: «Je vous amène, père, mon enfant. Il est mort.»
Et j’ai dit: «Depuis quand est-il mort?»
Elle a dit: «Neuf heures du matin au cabinet du médecin.»
«Qu’est-ce qui clochait?»
«La pneumonie.»
Alors, frère Espinosa... J’ai posé ma main sur cette couverture mouillée, c’était bien imbibée, la pluie tombait. J’ai mis ma main sur cette petite couverture mouillée.
Et j’ai dit: «Père céleste, je ne sais pas, la ténacité de cette petite femme. Mais il y a quelques instants, quand j’ai regardé l’assistance, j’ai vu un petit enfant en train de me regarder et de sourire là.» Elle l’avait couvert d’une couverture, elle le tenait comme ceci. J’ai dit: «Si c’est cet enfant-là, et que c’est à cause de la ténacité de cette petite femme, que–que Tu vas guérir l’enfant...»
Et à ce moment-là, l’enfant a fait Wah, et il s’est mis à gigoter comme cela. Il était vivant.
| E-94 They was holding her down because it wasn't right. The other people had prayer cards, and they'd come there and got the cards. And so they have to treat everybody right. Or you let one come without a card, then you--then you got a riot, sure enough, in something like that. So... And she had--she had to wait.
So I said, "Open up and bring her."
And he said, "Daddy, she hasn't got a prayer card."
I said, "Bring her on."
Said, "What's the matter?" I said, "I just seen something."
So they brought her up. And here she come up there, and she knelt down on the floor, and she said, "Padre."
I said, "No, no, no. Get up." A beautiful little woman, looked to be about in her twenties, and a little Mexican thing in her little hairs hanging down over her shoulders like that, and her great big eyes, and the tears running down her cheeks. She said, "Padre..." over there saying something. And I said...
Brother Espinosa said, "I bring to you, father, my baby. He's dead."
And I said, "Since when did he die?"
Said, "Nine o'clock this morning at the doctor's office."
"What was wrong?"
"Pneumonia."
So Brother Espinosa... I put my hand on top of that wet blanket, just soaking wet, and it pouring down rain. And I put my hand on that little wet blanket.
And I said, "Heavenly Father, I don't know the persistence of this little woman. But a few moments ago when I looked out on the audience, I seen a little baby looking at me grinning out there." She had the blanket laying over it, holding it like this. I said, "If that was the baby, and because of this little woman being so persistent that--that You're going to heal the baby..."
And about that time it went "Wah," and begin to kick its legs like that. It was alive.

E-95 J’ai dit: «Frère Espinosa, ne mettez pas cela... N’ayez pas... Allez... Prenez... Prenez un messager, qu’il accompagne cette femme-là au cabinet du médecin et que celui-ci signe une déclaration.»
Et il a trouvé le médecin, le médecin a signé une déclaration: «J’avais déclaré l’enfant mort, il n’y avait plus de respiration ce matin à neuf heures.»
L’enfant était froid et raide, il était mort depuis neuf heures ce matin-là, et il était ressuscité, parce qu’une petite femme avait été tenace. Elle avait vu quelque chose arriver, et elle n’allait pas recevoir non comme réponse pour ça. Cela montre bien que le même Dieu qui avait inspiré cette petite femme grecque pouvait inspirer une femme espagnole. Et Il peut inspirer la même chose ce soir si vous croyez cela. Croyez-vous cela? Oh! Soyez persévérant.
| E-95 I said, "Brother Espinosa, don't put that... Don't get... go... Take... Put a runner after that woman, and go down to the doctor's office and let him sign a statement."
And he found the doctor, and the doctor signed the statement. "I pronounced the baby, respiration all gone this morning at nine o'clock."
The baby was cold and stiff, and been dead since nine o'clock that morning, and come to life, because a little woman was persistent. She'd seen something happen, and she wasn't going to take "No" for it. That goes to show that the same God that was inspiring this little Greek woman could inspire a Spanish woman. And He can inspire the same thing tonight if you'll believe it. Do you believe it? Oh, be perseverant.

E-96 Seigneur Jésus, je crois que Tu es le Fils de Dieu. Tu as souffert sous Ponce Pilate. Tu as été crucifié, Tu es mort, Tu as été enseveli, Tu es ressuscité le troisième jour, et Tu es vivant aux siècles des siècles. Tu as promis: «Encore un peu de temps, et le monde (le cosmos, l’ordre du monde) ne Me verra plus. Mais vous, vous Me verrez, car Je (pronom personnel) serai avec vous, même en vous, jusqu’à la fin du monde», Jésus-Christ, le même hier, aujourd’hui et éternellement.
«Je crois en Toi, Seigneur. Je suis tenace ce soir. La foi a d’une façon ou d’une autre saisi. Je crois que Tu me guériras. Je crois que Tu m’accorderas le désir de mon coeur, et je m’accroche à Toi.»

"I believe You, Lord. I am persistent tonight. Faith has caught a hold somehow. I believe that You'll heal me. I believe that You'll save me. I believe that You'll give to me the desire of my heart, and I'm holding on to You."

Maintenant, Seigneur, cette chorale... cette église, ce groupe des gens attend patiemment. J’ai beaucoup parlé. Ils sont en train de prier, Seigneur. Je leur ai dit que Tu n’es pas mort, que Tu es ressuscité d’entre les morts. Je leur ai donné chaque promesse. Je leur ai parlé hier soir de la promesse que Tu as faite, de la fin du temps d’Abraham, la fin pour les Juifs et les Samaritains. Et maintenant, à la fin de l’âge des Gentils, voici, Tu es venu ici pour accomplir la même chose. L’âge de la pentecôte a commencé il y a quarante, cinquante ans, ici même sur la Côte Ouest. Ils parlaient en langues et interprétaient, la puissance de Dieu était parmi eux. Comment ils voyaient les malades être guéris, tout arrivait.
Mais maintenant, le dernier signe s’est accompli parmi eux. Tu viens, Seigneur. Ça ne tardera plus longtemps. C’est pourquoi je me tiens ici ce soir, Seigneur. Je crois en Toi. Ô Dieu, fais que ces gens soient tenaces. Que la–la–la Semence qui a été semée s’ancre dans les coeurs des gens. Qu’ils voient Cela. Qu’ils croient Cela. Qu’ils aient la foi et qu’ils croient en Toi de tout leur coeur.
| E-97 Let us bow our heads just a moment now. In your own way, silently pray just for a moment now, praying, "Lord Jesus, be merciful to me."
Now, Lord, this choir--this church, this group of people, is waiting patiently. I have spoke extensively. They're praying, Lord. I've told them that You're not dead, that You've raised from the dead. I've give them every promise. I told them last night the promise that You've made, how that the ending up of Abraham's time, ending up of the Jews, the Samaritans.
And now, at the end of the Gentile's age, here You come to do the same thing. The Pentecostal age started about forty, fifty years ago, right here on the west coast. How they spoke with tongues and interpreted, the power of God among them. How they seen the sick healed, everything take place.
But now the last sign has struck among them. You're coming, Lord. Not much longer. That's why I'm standing here tonight, Lord. I believe You. O God. Make these people persistent. May the--the--the Seed that's been sown anchor down into the hearts of the people. May they see It. May they believe It. May they have faith and believe You with all their heart.

E-98 Maintenant, Père divin, la vieille tendance, c’est imposer les mains aux malades. Nous savons que c’est ainsi qu’ils s’y prennent. La vieille tendance, c’était venir à l’autel, s’agenouiller et prier. Mais il est écrit dans la Bible: «Tous ceux qui avaient cru furent ajoutés à l’église», ils furent baptisés. Nous croyons dans toutes ces choses. Nous pensons toujours que cela a atteint un bon but, et c’est bon. Nous croyons cela.
Mais combien c’était plus glorieux, quand Jaïrus avait dit: «Viens, impose la main à ma fille, et elle vivra.» Mais le Romain, le Gentil a dit: «Je ne suis pas digne que Tu entres sous mon toit. Dis seulement un Mot, et mon serviteur vivra.»
Tu as dit: «Je n’ai jamais vu pareille foi en Israël.» Ô Dieu, puissions-nous ne jamais laisser tomber cela. Puissions-nous être à mesure... Puissé-je... Que tout ce que j’essaie de faire, ô Dieu, c’est que les gens voient que Tu es leur Sauveur. C’est Toi qui opères la guérison. C’est Toi qui accordes la foi. Ô Dieu, je prie qu’ils ne doutent pas. Et alors, quand... S’ils ne doutent pas, alors la foi entrera automatiquement droit dans leurs coeurs et ils comprendront.
| E-98 Now, Father God, the old trend is to lay hands upon the sick. We know that's the way they do it. The old trend was come to the altar, kneel down and pray. But in the Bible It said, "As many as believed was added to the church," was baptized. We believe in all these things. We still think it served a good purpose, and it's good. We believe it.
But how much greater, when Jairus said, "Come, lay Your hand on my daughter, and she'll live." But the Roman, the Gentile, said, "I'm not worthy that You come under my roof. Just speak the Word, and my servant will live."
You said, "I've never seen faith like that in Israel." God, may we never let it down. May we be able... May I'm... May what I'm trying to do, God, to let the people see that You are their Saviour; You're the One Who does the healing. You're the One Who furnishes the faith. God, I pray that they'll not doubt. And then, when... If they will not doubt, then faith will come automatically right into their hearts and they'll understand.

E-99 Accorde-nous de Te voir, Seigneur. Un jour, après la résurrection, Cléopas et son ami étaient en route vers Emmaüs. Ils ont parlé avec Lui toute la journée, et ils ne L’avaient pas reconnu. Mais tard ce soir-là, Il est entré dans une pièce avec eux, ils ont fermé les portes. Et alors, Il a fait quelque chose exactement comme Il le faisait avant Sa crucifixion. Et ils ont reconnu que personne d’autre ne faisait cela comme cela, ils ont reconnu que c’était Lui. Ils sont donc rentrés précipitamment et ils ont annoncé aux autres, après qu’Il avait disparu de leur vue, que certainement le Seigneur était ressuscité.
Père divin, nous avons mis de côté notre tâche de la journée. Nous sommes ici ce soir. La salle est fermée. Viens, Seigneur. Fais quelque chose parmi nous ce soir juste comme Tu faisais avant Ta crucifixion, que nous soyons joyeux, comme les autres autrefois, pour retourner sur le chemin en disant: «Notre coeur ne brûlait-il pas au-dedans de nous lorsqu’Il nous parlait en chemin?» Accorde-le, Seigneur.
Une seule Parole de Ta part confirmera tout ce que j’ai dit. Et si j’ai dit la vérité... Et je sais, Seigneur, que Tu ne confirmeras que la vérité. Tu n’auras rien à faire avec les mensonges et les erreurs. Tu ne confirmes que la vérité. Maintenant, Père, je Te prie de confirmer que ce qui a été dit est la vérité.
Je me confie moi-même en Toi avec Ta Parole, avec Ton assemblée, et leur foi qu’ils ont accumulée. Au Nom de Jésus-Christ, nous Te prions d’entrer en scène maintenant et de prouver que Tu es avec nous après deux mille ans. Ils... Il n’y a pas de mort pour Lui. Il est vivant aux siècles des siècles. Accorde-le, Père, au Nom de Jésus. Amen.
| E-99 Let us see You, Lord. One day after the resurrection, Cleopas and his friend was on the road down to Emmaus. And they talked with Him all day long, and they didn't know Him. But late that evening, He went in the room with them, and they closed the doors. And then He did something just the way He did it before His crucifixion, and they knew that no one else did it that way, and they knew it was Him. So they hurried back and told the people, after He vanished out of their sight, that truly the Lord is risen.
Father God, we're laid aside our task of the day. We're here tonight. The room is closed in. Come, Lord. Do something among us tonight just like You did before Your crucifixion, that we might lightheartedly, like they were, go back along the road saying, "Did not our hearts burn within us as He talked to us along the way." Grant it, Lord.
One Word from You will confirm everything that I've said. And if I've said the truth... And I know, Lord, You'll only confirm truth. You will have nothing to do with lies and errors. You only confirm the truth. Now, Father, I pray that You will confirm what's been said to be truth.
I commit myself to You with Your Word, with Your congregation of people, and their faith that they have accumulated. But if you don't come upon the basis of the Word of God, it doesn't make any difference. See, you're not there anyhow. You've got to come knowing that you're a sinner and Jesus died in your stead. And you've got to come and confess your sins. Are you here... And I won't call you up here. I'm just going to ask you, are you here, and you're convinced that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and you are a sinner in need of Him, would you just raise your hands and say, "Brother Branham, I believe in your prayer. Pray for me. I am a sinner, and I want you to pray for me." That's all I'll ask you to do.

Now, tell me I don't know; I do know. And I know you're setting there unbelieving. I could call your name. You know that.
How many's been in meetings, and seen that done before? Sure you have. But what it does, it hurts the congregation they come from. Jesus said, "Let the weeds and wheat grow together." He will... He's the one that'll bind it up. See? But you're setting here. How could you hide yourself? You better stand and accept Christ. Let me tell you, you'll never be any closer in His Presence till you see Him face to face.
For let me say to you this; here's my Bible here before me, Jesus Christ the Son of God has raised from the dead. He's here tonight in the form of the Holy Ghost. He's the One that permits this work to be done. Remember, believe Him.

La maladie et l’affliction ont empêché les gens de... qui marchent droit dans la ligne du devoir. Et Tu as dit: «Par-dessus tout, Je souhaite que tu prospères en santé.» Et que le Dieu qui a donné la promesse, non seulement regarde au travers de la Colonne de Feu, mais au travers du Sang de Son propre Fils, Jésus-Christ. Et que ces maladies aient peur et quittent les gens. Car nous le demandons au Nom de Jésus-Christ.
Maintenant, Satan, toi qui as lié les gens et qui les as entravés toutes ces années, qui les as liés par la maladie, nous venons en tant que représentant de Christ. Et nous t’adjurons par Celui qui nous a donné l’autorité de faire cela, de quitter les gens. Sors d’eux, au Nom de Jésus-Christ.

Heavenly Father, I bring these handkerchiefs to You. They are representing sick people. We're taught that one day Israel was on its line of duty, going to the promised land, and the Red Sea got right in the way. Israel, in the line of duty, following the commandments of God, and the Red Sea got right in its way to cut them off from the promise. One writer said that God looked down through that Pillar of Fire and the sea got scared, and it rolled back itself, and made a dry path for Israel to cross over in the promised land. You're still the same God tonight.
Sickness and disease has cut people off from the--walking right in the line of duty. And You said, "Above all things, I would that You prosper in health." And may the God Who gave the promise not only look through the Pillar of Fire, but through the Blood of His own Son, Jesus Christ. And may them diseases get scared and move back off of the people. For we ask it in the Name of Jesus Christ.
Now, Satan, you who bound the people and hindered them all these years, kept them bound in sickness, we come as representatives of Christ. And we adjure thee by Him, Who gave us the authority to do so, leave the people. Come out of them in the Name of Jesus Christ.
May the power that raised Christ from the grave break every doubt above the people's hearts, that they might receive their healing just now, in the Name of Jesus Christ.
