Ceux qui sont en Christ sont la semence royale d’Abraham et sont héritiers avec Lui selon la promesse.

| E-1 Thank you, Brother Roy. May be seated. I certainly deem this a grand privilege to be here in this lovely city tonight with you Christians who are pilgrims and strangers to this earth. And we are professing that we are looking for a city that--whose Builder and Maker is God, claiming to be the royal seed of Abraham. Those are in Christ are Abraham's seed and are heirs with Him according to the promise.
Bringing greetings to you from other Christians around the world. I'm sure that they'd like to be here, all of us together tonight for the worship service. But we are looking for the time when we will be together for the worship service when we crown Him King of king and Lord of lords.

E-2 Nous... Je venais d’apprendre que nous sommes arrivés ici juste au moment où plusieurs organisations tiennent une (je pense)–une convention. Je regrette que nous soyons arrivés à ce moment, parce que je sais ce que vous ressentez. | E-2 We are... I was just understanding that we got here just at this time when several of the organizations are having a, I believe, a convention. I'm sorry that we arrived at that time 'cause I know how you feel. I know how the brethren feel to be--something like this to happen just at the time that they're having their convention. And Brother Eddie Byskal, my brother and friend, it's the only time we could be here, just passing through. And that's the reason they made it real quick, just three services, then we're traveling on.
And we're hope that God will grant a great blessing for our gathering together, and trust that they'll have one of the greatest camp meetings, or conventions, or whatever they're having, that they've had in years, trusting that God will be with them and help them.

E-3 Eh bien, c’est une bonne chose de voyager à différents endroits et de voir tous les enfants du Seigneur. J’ai été... Je n’ai jamais été sur l’île auparavant. Nous venons de quitter Port Alberni et là, là où nous avons rencontré nos amis indiens et beaucoup de Blancs par ici. Et nous avons passé trois glorieuses soirées avec eux. J’étais censé être ici au printemps dernier, et je n’ai pas pu venir à ce moment-là à cause de l’explosion du fusil pendant que je tirais à la cible. Et j’avais pris un fusil qui n’avait pas été correctement alésé, et cela m’a explosé juste en plein visage, et cela m’a rendu presque aveugle et sourd pour quelques jours, et j’étais en très mauvais état. Cela aurait été... tel que cela avait été alésé, normalement cela aurait déchiqueté tout mon corps à partir de la taille. Une pression d’environ 6800 livres [3084,4 kg] s’est carrément exercée vers l’arrière, avec le fusil tout entier et tout, en plein visage et tout autour. Et cela ne m’a même pas effrayé. Ainsi donc, je–je suis reconnaissant pour cela. Mais, j’avais tout simplement de la peine à voir, et c’était un peu difficile pour entendre pendant quelques jours,–c’était comme un tintement de cloches.
| E-3 Now, it's good to visit around, and see all the children of the Lord. Been... I've never been on the island before. We just left up here at Port Alberni and there, where we met with our Indian friends and many of the white people. And we had a glorious three night's meeting with them. I was supposed to have been here last spring, and I could not come at that time because of a blowup of a rifle that I was shooting targets.
And I'd picked up a rifle that'd not been bored out right, and it exploded right in my face, and almost made me blind for a few days and deaf, and was very bad. It should have, according to the way it should've been, looked like it should've blowed my whole body off from my waist. It was about sixty-eight hundred pounds of pressure come right back, with the whole rifle and all, in my face, and scope. And it never even scarred me. So I--I'm thankful for that. But I just couldn't hardly see, and kind of hard hearing for a few days--like ringing of bells.

| E-4 And I was supposed to leave about a day before, and we just set the meeting up to this time. It's the only time I could be, because we was to be right over here in Washington, and that's the reason we come.
And if there's anyone here from the leaders of these conven--this convention that's going on, you tell them that I didn't do this purposely because they had the convention. I just did it because I dropped by. And some people that couldn't attend the convention, or the camp meeting, whatever it is, why, might be able to come by, and we'd have a little time of fellowship with them. They had their program, of course, already set up, or maybe I could've went down to the camp, or whatever it was and spoke with them. But they... I had to let them know beforehand, because they had--have their program set up, and I certainly wouldn't want to come in when somebody else--and take someone else's place. And there's...

E-5 Nous sommes ici pour prier pour les malades, et prier pour les perdus (S’il y en a qui sont venus afin que l’on prie pour eux, nous serions heureux de le faire.), et communier simplement autour de la Parole. J’aime cela–communier autour de la Parole de Dieu.

| E-5 We are here to pray for the sick people, and to pray with the lost (If there is any comes in to be prayed for, we'd be glad to do that.) And to just fellowship around the Word. I like that--have fellowship around God's Word.
Now, if you know any sick that's not attending the camp or convention, well, you get on the phone in the morning and call them up. Let's get them all out here and pray for them, and maybe the Lord might heal them. I believe He will.

J’ai toujours fait cette petite observation (Oh! pas toujours, mais bien des fois), en disant: «Vous savez, je suis membre de la famille Branham depuis cinquante-trois ans, et on ne m’a jamais demandé d’adhérer à cette famille. Je suis né un Branham.» Et je pense que c’est de cette manière que nous sommes des chrétiens. Nous sommes nés chrétiens.
Maintenant, nous avons nos organisations. Et bien des fois les... Oh! les méthodistes, les presbytériens, les catholiques, les anglicans et les autres essaient de dire que nous sommes une organisation pentecôtiste. C’est une erreur. Nous... Vous ne pouvez pas organiser la Pentecôte. La Pentecôte est une expérience pour tous les croyants. Voyez-vous? C’est une expérience.
J’ai beaucoup d’amis anglicans qui ont le Saint-Esprit. J’ai beaucoup de... méthodistes... Je viens d’aider quatre cents luthériens en les conduisant au baptême du Saint-Esprit. Voyez-vous? Et ainsi, il y a toute une université Béthanie qui a reçu le Saint-Esprit en une seule fois. Alors, vous voyez, ce–ce n’est pas une organisation, c’est une expérience pour tout celui qui le désire.
| E-8 And now, we believe that Christianity is convincing, and then we come not representing any certain denomination, but representing all of them. And the way of... We believe that Christ is the Head of the church, which He has purchased with His own Blood, and by one Spirit we are all baptized into one Body. We--we believe that we join our different organizations, but we're baptized in one body, Christ, by the Holy Spirit: One Lord, one faith, and one baptism.
I've always made a little remark (oh, not always, but several times), saying, "You know, I belonged to the Branham family for fifty-three years, and they never did ask me to join the family. I was borned a Branham. And that's the way I think that we are Christians. We are born Christian.
Now, we have our organizations. And many times the, oh, the Methodist, Presbyterian, Catholic, Anglican, and so forth, try to say that we are a Pentecostal organization. That's a error. We... You cannot organize Pentecost. Pentecost is an experience for all believers. See? It's an experience.
I have many Anglican friends who has the Holy Ghost. I have many Methodists... I just helped lead four hundred Lutherans to the baptism of the Holy Ghost. See? And so there's a whole Bethany College received the Holy Ghost at one time. So, see, it--it's not a--an organization, it's an experience for anybody that wishes it.

Mais ils–ils ont tous reçu la Pentecôte (voyez-vous?), parce que Cela est pour «quiconque veut» peut être participant de cela. Et Jésus a dit: «Nul ne peut venir à Moi, si Mon Père ne l’attire premièrement. Et tous ceux que le Père m’a donnés viendront à Moi.» Et celui qui vient a bien sûr la Vie Eternelle, avec l’assurance d’être ressuscité au dernier jour. Ainsi, quelle assurance et quel repos que d’être un chrétien, et de savoir qu’en ce jour-ci, alors que le monde devient tellement nerveux...
| E-9 In Africa amongst the heathens and Hottentots, I've seen thirty thousand blanket natives receive It at one time. So, see, in India, where we had at Bombay, the largest gathering I ever spoke to in my life at one gathering, oh, around half a million, I guess. But I seen thousands times thousands of them, innumerable, that I couldn't even see how many there was, accept Christ as Saviour at one time. And they belong... They were Mohammedans, Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs, Jains, and whatmore. See? But they--they all received Pentecost (See?), because that it's for "whosoever will" may be a partaker of it.
And Jesus said, "No man can come to Me except My Father draws him first. And all that the Father has given Me will come to Me." And he that comes, of course, has Eternal Life with the assurance of being raised up again at the last day. So what an assurance and a rest it is to be a Christian, to know that in this day, that when the world is so nervous...

E-10 Eh bien, je ne sais pas comment le peuple canadien se sent maintenant, mais les Américains sont en train de faire l’un des plus grands bluffs que j’aie jamais vus, exactement comme le reste du monde. Ils se comportent comme s’ils n’avaient pas peur, alors qu’ils ont une peur bleue. Ils cachent les membres du gouvernement à des endroits de toutes sortes, en creusant des abris sous terre. Cela me fait penser à un petit garçon qui traverse un cimetière la nuit, et qu’il sifflote pour se dire qu’il est courageux. Il sifflote tout simplement dans l’obscurité.
Leurs actes parlent plus fort que leurs paroles, parce que l’heure est venue où nous n’aurons plus besoin de force militaire. Il suffit tout simplement qu’un seul fanatique appuie sur la gâchette, et le monde entier va exploser. Je ne crois pas que cela arrivera. Dieu ne peut pas ruiner Son propre dessein. La terre a été placée ici, et il y aura un règne sur la terre pendant mille ans, après que l’église aura déjà été ramenée à la Maison. Ainsi donc, la terre ne va pas exploser. Alors, soyez simplement–soyez-en sûrs que cela n’arrivera pas: c’est tout simplement un bluff.
| E-10 Now, I don't know how the Canadian people are feeling now, but the Americans are putting on one of the biggest bluffs that I ever seen, just like most of the rest of the world. They're acting like they're not afraid, but they're scared to death. They're hiding the government in all kinds of places, and digging down in the ground. It reminds me of a little boy passing a graveyard at nighttime, whistling, says he's awful brave. He's just whistling in the dark.
Their actions speak louder than words, because the time has come where we will not need military forces any more. Just one fanatic to pull the trigger, the whole world will be blowed up. I do not believe it will happen. God cannot defeat His own purpose. The earth was put here, and there will be a millennial reign upon the earth for a thousand years after the church is done taken home. So the earth isn't going to be blowed up. So just rest--rest assured that it isn't going to happen: just a bluff.

E-11 Et lorsque ces phénomènes commenceront à se produire, alors levons la tête. Notre rédemption est proche. Ne baissons pas les regards pour nous lasser. Nous approchons simplement de la Venue de notre Seigneur Jésus; au lieu de nous décourager, nous devrions être le peuple le plus heureux du monde. Et nous le sommes. Assurément. Et c’est comme je l’ai dit hier soir, vous ne pouvez pas creuser assez profondément pour y échapper. Eh bien, nous n’avons pas été créés des taupes; nous avons été créés pour vivre sur la surface de la terre (voyez-vous?), vivre en paix et dans l’amour, en nous confiant à Dieu. Et les gens essaient de construire des abris anti-aériens, et ils les construisent avec de l’acier. Eh bien, si vous creusez à 1.000.000 de pieds [304,8 km] sous terre, eh bien, vous serez quand même perdu aussitôt qu’une bombe frappera dessus. Si cela tombait à n’importe quel endroit à une distance de 100 ou 200 miles [160,9 ou 321,8 km] de l’endroit où vous êtes, eh bien, cette secousse briserait chaque os de votre corps là au fond. Cela ferait un trou de 150 mètres de profondeur, et pour 150 miles carrés [241 km²]. Et c’est la seule chose qu’ils nous ont fait savoir à ce sujet. Nous ne savons pas ce qu’ils ont et ce qu’ils nous cachent.
| E-11 And when these sights begin to come to pass, then lift up our heads. Redemption's drawing nigh. Don't look down and be weary. We're just coming to the place for the coming of our Lord Jesus. Instead of being weary, we should be the most happiest people in the whole world. And we are. Sure. We are, because we're not afraid of bombs. Why, the bombs doesn't bother us.
And as I said the other night, you cannot dig far enough to get away from it. Why, we wasn't made moles; we were made to live on top of the earth (See?), live in peace and love, trusting God. And they are trying to build bomb shelters and construct them with steel. Why, if you'd dig a million feet under the earth, why, you'd still be lost as soon as the bomb hit. If it hit anywhere within hundred, or two hundred miles from you, why, that concussion would break every bone in your body down there. It'll blow a hole a hundred and fifty yards deep, and for a hundred and fifty miles square. And that's the one they let us know about. We don't know what they got they haven't let us know about.

E-12 Mais, vous savez, il n’y a qu’une seule chose valable. Vous savez, la science peut réaliser toutes sortes de choses, mais Dieu est très loin en avance. Nous avons un Abri anti-aérien. Il n’est pas fait d’acier; Il est fait de plumes. Nous nous reposons sous Ses ailes. Et aussitôt que cela explose, avant que cela n’explose, nous serons partis dans un Pays où il n’y a ni maladie, ni chagrin, où les vieux redeviendront jeunes, et il en sera ainsi éternellement. N’est-ce pas une consolation particulièrement pour nous les personnes âgées? Les jeunes... Mais souvenez-vous simplement, c’est simplement un tour du soleil.
| E-12 But you know, there's one good thing. You know, science can work out all kinds of things, but God's way ahead of that. We have a bomb shelter. It's not made out of steel; it's made out of feathers. Under His wings we're resting. As soon as it explodes, before it explodes, we'll be gone on into a land where there's no sickness, sorrow, where old age will be renewed back to youth, and there be that way forever. Isn't that a consolation for especially us old people? The youth... But just remember, it's just a turn of the sun.

E-13 Je parlais à une réunion des Kiwanis ici tout récemment, et il y avait là un brave médecin... Plusieurs médecins étaient là, et ils me posaient des questions au sujet de la vie dans les champs de mission et ainsi de suite. Et un brave médecin, un homme apparemment gentil, mais il ne pouvait pas croire simplement la naissance virginale, et il a dit qu’il ne pouvait simplement pas croire que Dieu existe.
Et j’ai dit: «Je ne voudrais jamais que vous posiez sur moi un bistouri. Je ne saurais vous faire confiance, docteur, si vous ne croyiez pas en Dieu.» Et ainsi... Un autre spécialiste se tenait là à côté de moi; il était un croyant fervent.
Et l’autre a dit: «Eh bien, je pense que tout ce qui ne peut pas être prouvé par la science n’est pas réel, Monsieur Branham.» Il a dit: «Je crois dans la science.»
J’ai dit: «Moi aussi. Je crois que vous pouvez grimper sur l’arbre de la science jusqu’à son sommet. Ensuite, vous passez sur l’arbre de la foi et continuez tout simplement à grimper.» J’ai dit: «Parce que c’est un... Je crois dans le fait de grimper à un arbre.»
Il a dit: «Eh bien, tout ce qui ne peut pas être prouvé scientifiquement n’est pas réel.»

«Eh bien, ai-je dit, lorsque vous dites qu’il n’y a point de Dieu, vous parlez comme un délinquant. Ainsi–ainsi ‘l’insensé dit en son coeur: il n’y a point de Dieu.’» Donc, nous devons nous parler de manière très ouverte, et j’ai dit: «Eh bien, écoutez, docteur. Etes-vous marié?»
Il a dit: «Oui.»
J’ai dit: «Aimez-vous votre femme?»
Il a dit: «Si je ne l’aimais pas, je ne l’aurais pas épousée.»

«Oui, a-t-il dit, alors, quelle différence d’amour y a-t-il entre celui que vous avez pour votre femme et celui que vous auriez pour n’importe quelle autre femme?»
«Oh! a-t-il dit, parce qu’elle est ma femme et mes enfants–la mère de mes enfants.»
J’ai dit: «C’est juste.» Voyez-vous, je l’ai alors attrapé juste dans sa propre ruse. J’ai dit: «Qu’avez-vous dit? Vous l’aimez?»
Il a dit: «Oui.»
J’ai dit: «Comment savez-vous que vous l’aimez?»
Il a dit: «Eh bien, bien sûr, je sais que je l’aime.»
J’ai dit: «Très bien, alors qu’est-ce que l’amour? Démontrez-le-moi scientifiquement. Allons à la pharmacie, et vous allez m’injecter un livre [plus ou moins 456,3 g] d’amour dans mes veines. J’en ai besoin.»
| E-13 I was speaking at a Kiwanis here not long ago, and there was one fine doctor... Several doctors were present, and they were asking me about mission life and so forth. And one fine doctor, nice man seemingly, but he just couldn't believe that--of the virgin birth, and he just said he couldn't believe there was God.
And I said, "I never want you to put a operating knife on me. I'd be afraid to trust you, doctor, if you didn't believe in God." And so... Another specialist was standing by my side which was a staunch believer.
And he said, "Well, I think anything that isn't scientifically proven is not real, Mr. Branham." He said, "I believe in science."
I said, "So do I. I believe you can climb up the tree of science until you get to the end of it. Then you step over on the tree of faith and just keep on climbing," I said, "because it's a... I believe in climbing up the tree."
He said, "Well, anything that cannot be scientifically proven isn't a reality."
"Oh," I said, "Doctor, that's an awful statement for you to make."
And he said, "Why is that?"
I said, "I'll take the vice versa. Anything that can be scientifically proven is not a reality."
"Oh," he said, "you talk, Brother Branham, like you were disturbed."
"Well," I said, "when you say there isn't any God, you talk like you're delinquent. So--so 'The fool said in his heart there's no God." So we got to talking real plain to each other, and I said, "Now, look, doctor. Are you a married man?"
He said, "I am."
I said, "Do you love your wife?"
He said, "If I didn't, I wouldn't have married her."
"Do you have children?"
"Yes." said, "Then what is the difference of the love that you have for your wife than you would for any other woman?"
"Oh," he said, "because she's my wife, and my children--mother of my children."
I said, "That's right." See, I caught him right in his own trick then. I said, "What was that you said? You loved her?"
He said, "Yes."
I said, "How do you know you love her?"
He said, "Well, of course, I know I love her."
I said, "All right then, what is love? Scientifically show me. Let's go down to the drug store, and you inject me a pound of it inside of my veins. I need it."

E-14 Ainsi donc, selon lui l’amour n’existe pas parce que vous ne pouvez pas prouver scientifiquement l’amour qui est en vous. Toute l’armure du chrétien, c’est par la foi, et c’est invisible. Voyez-vous? Qu’est-ce que l’armure du chrétien? L’amour, la joie, la paix, la foi, la persévérance, la douceur, la bonté, la patience, le Saint-Esprit, Dieu, les Anges. Tout cela est surnaturel. Et tout ce qui est naturel vient de la terre et retournera à la terre. Seules les choses surnaturelles vivent; elles sont éternelles.
| E-14 Then according to him there is no such a thing as love 'cause you can't scientifically prove what's in you that's love. The whole Christian armor is faith, unseen. See? What is the Christian armor? Love, joy, peace, faith, long-suffering, meekness, gentleness, patience, Holy Spirit, God, Angels. It's all supernatural. And everything natural come from the earth and will return back to the earth. It's just the supernatural things that live; it's eternal.

E-15 J’avais une petite chose pour lui. J’ai dit: «Docteur, je vais vous poser une question. Croyez-vous que l’homme a été tiré de la poussière de la terre?»
Il a dit: «Oh! je–je pourrais... Je crois que l’homme, c’est la poussière de la terre. Absolument.» Il a dit: «Vous voyez... Vous mangez de la nourriture, et cette nourriture se transforme en–en sang, et le sang forme des tissus. Et ainsi, cela devient... Lorsque vous mangez le... par exemple, lorsque vous mangez de la viande et ainsi de suite, et que cela produit du calcium, du potassium, du fer, et... dont vous avez besoin pour votre corps, et cela bâtit votre corps.»
J’ai dit: «Donc, peut-être que dans un certain sens vous croyez que l’homme a été tiré de la poussière de la terre, mais Dieu, au commencement, n’avait jamais créé l’homme originel dont nous sommes issus.»
Et il a dit: «Peut-être que c’est de cette manière que vous affirmez cela.»
Alors, j’ai dit: «J’aimerais vous poser une question.» Et j’ai dit: «Eh bien, nous allons dire quelque chose ici. Je vais... Est-il vrai que je suis constitué de seize éléments? Vous avez admis cela (Oui.) de la terre. Eh bien, alors, lorsque j’avais quinze ans, j’étais un jeune homme fort, vigoureux. Et maintenant, chaque fois que je mange, dites-vous, je... la nourriture produit des cellules de sang.»

J’ai dit: «Alors, aussi longtemps que je mange, comment expliquer que je dois mourir? Voyez-vous? Aussi longtemps que vous vous bourrez de la nourriture, pourquoi devrais-je mourir? Voyez-vous, en effet, ce sont les cellules de sang qui me font vivre, et la nourriture produit des cellules de sang. Et ainsi, si–si je renouvelle ma vie...» J’ai dit: «Voici quelque chose d’autre que j’aimerais vous demander. Lorsque j’avais seize ans, je mangeais la même nourriture que je mange maintenant. Mais maintenant, je mange plus et mieux. Mais lorsque j’avais seize, quinze–seize ans, chaque fois que je mangeais, je devenais plus grand et plus fort. Puis tout d’un coup, lorsque j’ai atteint environ vingt et un ans, à partir de ce moment-là jusqu’aux environs de vingt-trois ans, je me suis arrêté. Maintenant, j’ai cinquante ans. Je mange la même nourriture que je mangeais à l’époque. Mais comment se fait-il que je deviens plus faible et me consume tout le temps, au lieu de grandir, alors que je mange la même nourriture qui apporte en moi la même sorte de vie?» En voilà une pour vous.
| E-15 I had a little thing to him. I said, "Doctor, I'm going to ask you a question. Do you believe man was made out of the dust of the earth?"
He said, "Oh, I--I could... I believe that man is dust of the earth. Yes, sir." Said, "Do you see... You eat the food, and the food turns into--to blood, and the blood builds tissue. And therefore, it come... You eat the--like you eat meats, and so forth, and it builds calcium, potash, and whatever, iron, and--you need for your body, and it builds it up."
I said, "Therefore, maybe under another way you believe that man came from the dust of the earth, but God in the beginning never created the original man that we are products of."
And he said, "Maybe that's the way you'd state it."
So I said, "I'd like to ask you a question." And I said, "Now, we're going to say something here. I'll... Is it so that I am made of sixteen elements? You admitted that (Yes.), of the earth. Now. Then, when I was fifteen years old, I was a strong, sturdy little boy. And now, every time I eat, you say I--the food makes blood cells."
He said, "That is correct."
I said, "Then every time I eat I renew my life." That's correct. Blood is the life, the life's in the blood, sure. See? "Every time I eat I renew my life."
He said, "That's correctly."
I said, "Then as long as I eat, why should I ever die? See? As long as you can stuff food in there, why would I ever die? See, because it's blood cells that I live by, and food makes blood cells. And then, if--if I renew my life..." I said, "Here's another thing I'd like to ask you. When I was sixteen, I eat the same food I eat right now. But now, I eat more and better. And when I was sixteen, fifteen, sixteen, every time I eat I got bigger and stronger. Then all at once when I hit according to about twenty-one years old, from that to about twenty-three, I was on a standstill.
"Now, I'm fifty. I eat the same food I eat then. And why is it I'm getting weaker and burning down all the time, instead of growing up, when I'm eating the same food, putting the same kind of life in me?" There's one for you.

E-16 Tenez. Si j’avais une carafe en main ou un pichet, et que je versais de l’eau dans un verre, et que je déversais de l’eau de cette grosse carafe pleine, ou plutôt du pichet dans un verre, et que celui-ci soit rempli à moitié; et alors si je déverse plus vite, plus je déverse, plus cela diminue. Prouvez-moi scientifiquement ce qui est arrivé au verre d’eau. Il n’y a aucune réponse à cela. Voyez?
Eh bien, c’est la même chose. J’ai consommé de la nourriture dans mon corps à l’âge de seize ans, depuis l’âge d’un an jusqu’à seize ans. Lorsque je suis né, j’ai commencé à manger la nourriture de la terre, et je devenais de plus en plus fort, corpulent, et je devenais toujours plus grand. Et tout d’un coup, cela s’arrête. Et je consomme la même nourriture. Et cela ne fait que diminuer comme ceci, alors qu’avant je consommais de la nourriture et grandissait comme cela. Voyez? Il n’y a aucune réponse à cela, mon ami. Dieu a fixé un rendez-vous; c’est là qu’on en est. Par conséquent, à propos de la science, de l’éducation, et de tout ce qui existe au monde, je fonde ma foi sur la Parole de Dieu et sur Elle seule.
| E-16 Here. If I've got a jug in my hand, or a pitcher, pouring water into a glass, and pouring water out of this big, full jug, or glass, or pitcher into a glass; and it gets half full, and then I pour faster, and the more I pour the farther down it goes. Scientifically prove to me what happened in the glass of water. No answer to that. See?
Well, that's the same thing. I put food in my body at sixteen. At one year old on till sixteen on. When I was borned, I started eating food of the earth, and I started getting stronger and stronger, larger, being a bigger man all the time. And all at once it stops. And I pour the same food in. It keeps going down like this, when I was pouring the food in going up like that. See? There is no answer for it, friend. God has made an appointment; there's where it stays.
Therefore, of scientists, of education, of everything there is in the world, I base my faith upon the Word of God and that alone.

E-17 Etant un Irlandais, je viens d’une famille catholique. Mes aïeux bien avant moi (pas mon père et ma mère, mais la génération précédente) venaient de Dublin, en Irlande, et ils étaient–ils étaient des catholiques. Lorsque j’étais... je connaissais Dieu alors que j’étais un petit garçon... Je voulais savoir qui était Dieu, et ma famille n’allait pas à l’église. Alors, j’ai posé des questions au prêtre au sujet de Dieu, et il a dit: «Dieu est dans Son église. C’est là que Dieu demeure. Tu dois être membre de Son église.»
J’ai dit: «Comment dois-je être membre?» Bien sûr, vous les catholiques vous comprenez ce qui m’a été dit.
Puis, j’ai fini par découvrir que... je jouais dans un entourage allemand, où j’ai grandi, avec des gens qui s’appelaient Halman, Roderick, Fisher, Roder, ainsi de suite. J’étais le seul... Un autre garçon ainsi que moi étions les seuls petits Irlandais dans toute l’école. Eh bien, tous ces garçons-là étaient des luthériens. Eh bien, ils disaient qu’ils... leur église, c’était ça l’église.
Ensuite, j’ai fini par découvrir qu’il y avait une autre église appelée Eglise baptiste, et une autre appelée presbytérienne, et une autre appelée anglicane. Oh! la la! Eh bien, dans laquelle de ces églises se trouve-t-Il? C’est ce que je me demandais. Où est-Il? Si celle-ci a raison, celle-là doit être dans l’erreur, parce qu’elles sont opposées l’une à l’autre. Eh bien, dans laquelle de ces églises Dieu se trouve-t-Il?Je m’asseyais et je me mettais à lire la Bible, j’observais la nature. J’ai finalement découvert que la Bible disait: «Si quelqu’un retranche quelque chose de cette Bible ou y ajoute, de même sa part sera ôtée du Livre de Vie.» Alors, j’ai vu qu’un jour Dieu jugera le monde par Jésus-Christ et Sa Parole. Eh bien, par conséquent, je crois la Bible. Je crois que Dieu peut faire des choses qui ne sont pas écrites dans Sa Parole. Mais aussi longtemps qu’Il fera exactement ce qu’Il a mis dans la Parole, alors, je suis satisfait de cela.
| E-17 I come from a Catholic background, being an Irishman. My people before me (not father and mother, but the next generation) come from Dublin, Ireland, and were--and were Catholic. When I was... Knowed of God when I was a little boy... I wanted to find out about Who God was, and my people didn't go to church. So I asked the priest about God, and he said, "God is in His church. There's where God dwells. You have to belong to His church."
I said, "How must I belong?" Of course, you Catholic people understand what I was told.
Then I come to find out that... I played in a German neighborhood where I was raised, of people named Halman, Roderick, Fisher, Roder, so forth. I was the only... One more boy and I were the only Irish boys in the whole school. Well, these boys were all Lutheran. Well, they said they--their church was the church.
Then I come to find out there was another church called Baptist, Presbyterian, Anglican. Oh, my. Well, which one of them churches is He in? That's what I wondered. Where is He at? If this one's right, this one's got to be wrong, 'cause they're contrary one to another. Now, which one of them churches is God in?
I set down and started reading the Bible, watching nature. Come to find out that the Bible said that, "Whosoever shall take anything out of this Bible, or add anything to It, the same will be taken from his part of the Book of Life." So I seen that God will judge the world one day by Jesus Christ and His Word.
Now, therefore, I believe the Bible. I believe God can do things that's not wrote in His Word. But as long as He does just what He's got in the Word, then I'm satisfied with that.

E-18 Eh bien, certains d’entre vous frères, vous vous souvenez que dans l’Ancien Testament il y avait un moyen pour découvrir si un prophète disait la vérité, ou si un faiseur des songes avait fait un vrai songe, si son songe venait de Dieu. On l’amenait au temple où était suspendu le pectoral d’Aaron, et c’était appelé l’Urim Thummim. Beaucoup d’entre vous savent ce que c’est, en lisant la Bible. Et lorsque ce prophète se mettait à prophétiser et que ces lumières surnaturelles ne réagissaient pas à cela, comme un arc-en-ciel, par-dessus cela, constituant l’Urim Thummim qui était sur le pectoral, peu importe combien cela semblait vrai, on ne croyait pas cela. Nullement. Cela devait être confirmé par Dieu.
Or, l’Ancien Testament a été aboli et a été accompli, non pas aboli mais accompli. Et alors, nous avons reçu le Nouveau Testament. Or, le vieil Urim Thummim était autrefois sous le sacerdoce lévitique sur la poitrine d’Aaron. Mais en ce temps-ci, nous avons deux autres tables de la loi: l’Ancien et le Nouveau Testament. Et pour moi, c’est l’Urim Thummim de Dieu. Si Dieu ne répond pas par Sa Parole lorsque nous voyons quelque chose, alors je laisse tout simplement cela tranquille. Mais tant qu’il s’agit de la Parole, alors je sais que les cieux et la terre passeront, mais que Sa Parole ne faillira point.
Par conséquent, je crois que la Bible est la Vérité absolue de Dieu, et qu’on ne doit rien Y ajouter ni rien En retrancher, mais on doit simplement La vivre–La prêcher dans Sa simplicité, La vivre telle qu’Elle est écrite, et Dieu est... Si jamais Il était Dieu, Il est toujours Dieu. Et si Ceci c’est Sa Parole, et qu’Il a fait une promesse qu’Il ne peut pas soutenir, alors Il n’est pas Dieu.
| E-18 Now some of you brethren, remember in the Old Testament they had a way of finding out whether a prophet was telling the truth, or a dreamer was dreaming right, his dream was from God. They taken him to the temple where the breastplate of Aaron was hanging, and it was called Urim Thummim. Many of you people know about it, reading in the Bible. And when this prophet begin to prophesy, and those supernatural lights didn't register back off of that, like a rainbow across that, making the Urim Thummim from that breastplate, no matter how real it sound, they didn't believe it. No, sir. It had to be answered back by God.
Now, the Old Testament was done away with and fulfilled, not done away, but fulfilled. And when it did, we took a New Testament. Now, the old Urim Thummim was back in the Levitical priesthood under Aaron's breast. But this time we have two more tables of law--the New and Old Testament. And that's God's Urim Thummim to me. If God doesn't speak back through His Word when we see something, then just leave it alone. But as long as It's the Word, then I know that heavens and earth will pass away but His Word will never fail.
Therefore, I believe the Bible to be the absolute truth of God, and it isn't to be added to or taken away from, but just lived preached in Its simplicity, lived the way It's wrote, and God is... If He ever was God, He's still God. And if This is His Word, and He made a promise that He cannot back up, then He isn't God.

E-19 Et j’ai découvert jusque-là, mes amis... voici vingt et un ans que je me tiens derrière l’estrade–la chaire; je ne L’ai jamais vu promettre quelque chose qu’Il n’ait accompli. C’est juste. Il y a des choses que je Lui ai demandées que je n’ai pas obtenues, mais jamais je ne Lui ai demandé sincèrement quelque chose sans qu’Il me l’accorde ou ne me dise pourquoi Il ne pouvait pas me le donner. Il y a bien des choses que j’ignore. Moi, je suis limité; Lui, Il est infini. Ainsi, le Grand Dieu infini...
Et moi, étant un homme limité, il y a bien des choses que je désire mais qu’il ne me serait pas bon d’avoir, alors je me confie tout simplement en Lui comme Mon Père pour me donner ce qui est juste.
| E-19 And I found this far, friends... I'm thirty-one years behind the platform, pulpit. I have never seen anything that He promised but what He would do it. That's right. I've asked Him for things I didn't get, but I've never asked Him sincerely for anything but what He gave it to me or told me why He couldn't give it to me. There's many things I don't know. I'm finite; He's infinite. So the great infinite God...
And I, a finite man, there's many things that I desire that wouldn't be good for me to have, so I just trust Him as My Father to give me what's right.

E-20 Et nous sommes ici ce soir pour prier pour vous, et pour vous parler de la Parole, pendant ces trois prochaines réunions, demain soir et dimanche après-midi. Et je crois que vous allez m’accorder toute votre attention, et je ne vais me tenir nulle part, sinon juste dans les pages du Livre. S’il vous a amenés jusqu’à être remplis de l’Esprit de Dieu, et à mener cette vie que je crois que vous menez, eh bien, faites-lui confiance pour le reste du chemin. Il sera en mesure de répondre à vos questions.
| E-20 And we are here tonight to pray with you, and talk to you about the Word, these next three meetings, tomorrow night and Sunday afternoon; and I trust that you'll give me your undivided attention, and I'll stay nowhere but right in the pages of the Book. And I don't preach doctrine out in the meetings. I'm out here to keep the message simple, to pray for all of God's children.
And the religious questions that you might have in your mind, I'd advise you ask your pastor and not me, because every man's leading his flock. And if he's--the pastor has led you safely this far, trust him the rest of the way. He... If he brought you up to be filled with God's Spirit, and living the life that I trust that you're living, why, trust him the rest of the way. He will be able to answer your questions.

E-21 Maintenant, puisque nous croyons la Parole, nous avons juste un petit message ordinaire par lequel nous introduisons chaque campagne, et le sujet de ce petit message est: Jésus-Christ est le même hier, aujourd’hui et éternellement. | E-21 Now, believing the Word, we have just a little formal message that we introduce each campaign with, and that is the subject of, "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever." If... Now, we know that that is the Bible: Hebrew 13:8.
And now, I have another piece of Scripture that I want to read, and then (That's found in Saint John 12:20), and just talk a few minutes on the Scripture, and pray for the sick, try to let you out early, 'cause I know city people has city jobs, and they must punch the clock. And we're not here in one of the big campaigns, but I hope someday that we can return so we can have a week or two that we'll... But it's just a little introductory meeting.
You will, of course, not be able to grasp, I'm sure, the full meaning of the meeting that we're talking about, and how the Holy Spirit... But I ask you, as my friend and as a Christian believer here tonight that you'll search what we say by the Scripture. And if it's not Scriptural, then you owe it to me to tell me about it, show me where it's wrong. And if it is Scriptural, then you're duty bound to obey the Scripture.

E-22 Maintenant, avant que nous lisions, parlons à l’Auteur alors que nous inclinons la tête. J’ai une personne malade. Je suis moi-même malade. J’ai un ami, un frère, une soeur, un enfant, un mari qui est perdu. Souviens-Toi d’eux, Dieu notre Père, durant cette réunion. Puisse-t-il se produire quelque chose qui fera qu’ils soient sauvés et guéris.» Que Dieu vous bénisse.

With our heads bowed, I wonder here in my own heart, tonight, if there is requests that would--that you have on your heart, that you want God to fulfill during this meeting. Would you just raise up your hands, with your heads bowed? And in your heart say, "Lord Jesus, I want You to answer my request during this meeting. I have someone sick. I'm sick myself. I have a lost friend, brother, sister, child, husband. Remember them, Father God, during this meeting. May something happen that they'll be saved and healed." God bless you.

E-23 Notre Père céleste, nous nous approchons de Ton Trône de grâce en ce moment et en cette heure, croyant que Tu exauceras chaque requête. Nous Te remercions pour ce... loyal, et comme nous le disons... ce rassemblement royal du Canada. Et, Seigneur, nous aimerons être fidèles à notre Dieu. Alors nous sommes rassemblés ici en cet après-midi chaud pour L’adorer dans l’Esprit de Sa Vérité. Et nous Te prions, Père céleste, de bénir notre être. Bénis ces frères qui sont en train de tenir la campagne. Nous Te prions d’être dans ces réunions, Seigneur, et d’accorder aux gens abondamment au-delà de tout ce qu’ils pourraient faire ou penser.
Maintenant, nous Te demandons ce soir d’accorder ces requêtes, ces gens ont quelque chose sur leurs coeurs. Presque tout le monde dans cette assemblée a levé la main. Il y a quelque chose sous cette main, Seigneur, dans le coeur. Ne voudrais-Tu pas le leur accorder? Maintenant, j’offre ma prière. Alors qu’ils font une prière silencieuse, je Te prie de... Ma prière est que Tu répondes à leurs requêtes. Je dépose ma prière avec la leur sur Ton autel d’or avec ce Sacrifice, le Seigneur Jésus. Ecoute-nous, ô Dieu.
Il nous a dit: «Tout ce que vous demanderez au Père en Mon Nom, Je le ferai.» Maintenant, nous Te prions d’accorder cette requête, et de nous accorder un temps merveilleux et glorieux ensemble, alors que nous communions autour de la Parole. Car nous le demandons au Nom de Jésus, Ton Fils. Amen.
| E-23 Our heavenly Father, we approach Thy throne of grace at this time, and this hour, believing that You will answer each request. We thank Thee for this loyal--and as we put it, royal Canadian gathering. And Lord, we want to be loyal to our God. So we have assembled out in this hot afternoon to worship Him in the spirit of His truth. And we pray, heavenly Father, that You'll bless our being.
Bless those brethren that's got the campaign going on. We pray that You'll be in those meetings, Lord, and give to them the exceeding abundantly above all that they could do or think.
Now, we ask tonight for these requests. These people got something on their heart. Most all the congregation tonight had their hands up. There's something beneath that hand, Lord, in the heart. Won't You grant it to them? Now, I offer my prayer. As they pray silently, I pray to You that... My prayer is that You will answer their requests. I lay my prayer with theirs upon Your golden altar with that Sacrifice, the Lord Jesus. Hear us, God.
He told us, "You ask the Father anything in My name, I'll do it." Now, we pray that You'll grant this request, and give us a great, lovely time together, as we fellowship around the Word. For we ask it in Jesus' Name, Thy Son. Amen.

Et ce privilège leur a été accordé. Or, le... Combien ici aimeraient voir Jésus, sincèrement du fond de leur coeur? Nous tous. Voyez-vous ma main? Eh bien, alors, la question est la suivante: Maintenant, si Jésus est le même hier, aujourd’hui et éternellement, et que notre désir est le même que celui de ces Grecs, pourquoi ne Le voyons-nous pas?
Et vous ne pouvez pas faire dire à la Bible quelque chose de faux, parce qu’Elle ne le dit pas. Or, si Dieu est Dieu, Il doit rester fidèle à cette Parole. Il doit tenir cette Parole pour être Dieu.
Or, ces Grecs désiraient Le voir. Il ne fait acception de personne, dit la Bible. Et ils désiraient Le voir, et ils avaient eu le privilège de Le voir. Maintenant, les Ecritures ne disent pas qu’ils Lui avaient parlé; ils L’avaient simplement vu. Et c’est ce que nous désirons faire. Nous désirons Le voir.
| E-25 Now, the Bible said here that there were Greeks that came up to worship that had heard about Jesus, and came to one of His disciples to see if they could see Him. And they were granted that privilege. Now, the... How many here would like to see Jesus, just truly from your heart? All of us. See my hand? Well, then the question is this: now, if Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and our desire is the same desire of those Greeks, why can't we see Him?
And you can't make the Bible say something wrong, because It doesn't. Now, if God is God, He's got to stand by this Word. He must keep that Word in order to be God.
Now, these Greeks desired to see Him. He's no respect of persons; the Bible says. And they desired to see Him, and they was granted the privilege of seeing Him. Now, the Scripture doesn't say they talked to Him; they just saw Him. And that's what we want to do. We want to see Him.

| E-27 Now, if our desire tonight, as a congregation of people that's assembled together... There was only two then, and they got to see Him. And now, there's perhaps a hundred and fifty, and we want to see Him. So if He is the same yesterday, today, and forever, let's see Him, and see what He was.
What type of person do you think those Greeks were looking for? Were they looking for a rabbi with His robes on and a turban hat? Well, any man could've wore robes with a turban hat. Any man today could do the same thing. So if we seen a man, and wanted to see Jesus, which was Messiah, the anointed Christ, then we could see any man then that wore a turban and a--and a cloak like they'd have thought he'd have wore, like a priest. That would've been Jesus. It'd be very confusing then to see as many men that dresses like that. So they did not want to see His dress.
So maybe they wanted to see His stature, maybe how high He was, how large a shoulders that He would have, or the certain fashion He--He wore His hair, or something. Then any man could impersonate that. But they wanted to see the anointed One. So if they wanted to see the anointed One, they would--they would be looking for a anointed Christ.

Ce n’est pas le plumage qui fait l’oiseau. Ainsi, voyez-vous, il y avait en Lui quelque chose que ces Grecs désiraient voir. Et c’est ce que nous désirons voir ce soir. Nous ne désirons pas voir...

He didn't dress any different from the common street man, but He just wore a regular garment. He didn't dress any religious clothes, because He walked in around men. I believe if He was here today He would be a clean looking Man, wear a suit, a tie, just like any other man. He wouldn't be all garbed up in religious clothes. I don't believe He'd do that. I--I don't think the feather makes the bird. And it's the nature of the bird, 'cause the most beautiful birds we have are scavengers. So we... The feather doesn't make the bird.
So it was (See?) something in Him that these Greeks wanted to see. And that's what we want to see tonight. We want to see not...

| E-31 Now, John said in the 1st chapter, "In the beginning was the Word." Now, a word is a thought expressed. It's a thought first. You think it, then you speak it. And He was the Word. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us." Is that right? In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word... 'Cause it was His thought before He'd expressed It, and It was God. And when He expressed It, It became God, because the Word is a part of God, just like you are a part of your word. And when He expressed It, It became God. And that Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us. And we beheld Him, the only begotten of the Father, full of grace.
Now, if He was the Word then, expressed and manifested Word, then He'd have to be the same thing tonight, because when God speaks, He can never take it back. See, that's the way you must have confidence in your Bible. It is... Your Bible is this: God wrote on paper in Word form, because it is God. Even the Old Testament, the Bible said that the Word of God came to the prophets. Prophets, the Word of God came to them.

| E-32 Now, when Jesus was here on earth, He said to them that did not believe Him... He was an ordinary man, and He called Himself God. They said, "When You make Yourself equal with God we know you're mad (And the word 'mad' there, of course, we understand means 'crazy.') and you're crazy. You are a Samaritan. You've got a devil," and so forth.
But Jesus said, "Search the Scriptures, for in Them you think you have Eternal Life, and They are They that testify of Me. They are They that bear witness of Me." "Testify" is "to bear witness."
When you go to a trial to be a witness, you're testifying for somebody. See? And Jesus said, "The Scriptures are They that bear record of Me." Then He was God's Word expressed in human flesh. You see it? God's promise made flesh to express Itself, that's what Christ was, the Word of God expressed in human form. The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us.
Again He said to them, "If I do not the works of My Father, then believe Me not. But though you don't believe Me, believe the works." See, that's God expressing Himself through the flesh. He was God made flesh, the Word, living Word.

E-33 C’est la raison pour laquelle les chrétiens... Je crois que c’est tellement réel ce soir, et tellement... que nous devrions mener un genre de vie correct; en effet (Vous voyez?), bon nombre de gens ne prennent pas leur temps pour lire la Bible, mais ils vous lisent, vous. Vous voyez, vous êtes une épître écrite de Dieu, un authentique et véritable chrétien né de nouveau est la Parole exprimée de nouveau, parce que vous êtes des épîtres écrites de Dieu, lues de tous les hommes.
Quel genre de personnes devrions-nous être si nous savons que notre vie est une Bible vivante ouverte pour l’incrédule, afin d’exprimer Dieu dans notre propre vie? Remarquez, maintenant, nous voyons qu’Il était la Parole, et la Parole a été faite chair et a habité parmi nous. Or, nous voyons que dans Hébreux (Vous qui notez cela), Hébreux 4.12, la Bible dit que la Parole de Dieu est plus tranchante qu’une épée à deux tranchants, pénétrante jusqu’à transpercer la moelle de l’os, et elle discerne les pensées qui sont dans le coeur. La Parole de Dieu discerne les pensées qui se trouvent dans votre coeur. Ainsi, ce soir, Dieu étant la Parole, connaît exactement ce à quoi vous pensez même en cet instant. Nos pensées ne devraient-elles donc pas être pures, décentes, saintes, pensant toujours aux choses les meilleures?

I think it's so real tonight, and so--that we should live the right kind of a life, because (You see?), there's many people won't take time to read the Bible, but they'll read you. See, you are a written epistle of God, a real, true, borned again Christian is the Word expressed again, because you're written epistles of God, read of all men.
What type of person should we to be if we know that our lives is an open, living Bible to the unbeliever, to express God in our own life? Notice. Now, we see He was the Word, and the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us. Now, we find out that in Hebrews (you're writing it down), Hebrews 4:12, the Bible said that the Word of God is sharper than a two-edged sword, piercing even to the asunder and marrow of the bone, and a Discerner of the thoughts that's in the heart. The Word of God discerns the thoughts that's in your heart. Therefore, God tonight, being the Word, knows exactly what you're even thinking about this very minute. So should not our thoughts be pure, clean, holy, always thinking the best?

E-34 Jésus a dit aux pharisiens, Il a dit: «Comment pouvez-vous dire de bonnes choses, puisque c’est de... A-t-Il dit, vous hypocrites, a-t-Il dit, c’est de l’abondance du coeur que la bouche parle.» Vous voyez, ils pensaient une chose dans leurs coeurs, et de leurs bouches ils en disaient une autre. C’est donc cela qui faisait d’eux des hypocrites. Il a dit: «Comment pouvez-vous dire de bonnes choses alors que c’est de l’abondance du coeur...» Il connaissait ce qu’il y avait dans leurs coeurs. Vous voyez? «Comment pouvez-vous dire de bonnes choses, alors que vous devriez dire ce qui est dans votre coeur?»
Par conséquent, nous ne devrions dire que ce que nous croyons et comprenons, et que cela soit pur, sans souillure et–et saint. Et que nos conversations soient nettes et pures, et que dans nos pensées, nous ayons les choses les meilleures. Ayons la pensée de Dieu, nous en tenant au programme de Dieu, et restant loin des choses du monde.
| E-34 Jesus said to the Pharisees, said, "How can you speak good things, for out of the..." Said, "You hypocrites," said, "out of the abundance of the heart speaketh the mouth." See, they were thinking something in their heart and speaking something different with their mouth. So that made them hypocrites. Said, "How can you speak good things when out of the abundance of the heart..." He knowed what was in their heart. See? "How can you say good things, when out of your heart you should speak?"
Therefore, we should never speak anything but what we believe and understand, and let it be pure, undefiled, and--and holy. And let our conversation be clean and pure, our thoughts thinking the best things, thinking God's thoughts, staying upon God's program, and away from the things of the world.

E-35 C’est vraiment dommage que les choses du monde aient tellement captivé l’église en ces jours-ci. Et Satan a une façon rude de le faire, en introduisant carrément la télévision dans les maisons, et ainsi de suite, corrompant l’esprit des gens, au point qu’aujourd’hui, un grand pourcentage de gens de l’église qui se disent chrétiens resteront à la maison le mercredi soir au lieu d’aller à la réunion de prière, pour pouvoir suivre une certaine émission préférée d’un acteur d’Hollywood, ou de quelque part, qui ne devrait même pas apparaître sur l’écran. En fait, ils vivent peut-être avec trois ou quatre maris, ou femmes, font des histoires, et mènent toutes sortes de vie, participent à des beuveries, et ils fument, mentent, tout ce qu’il y a de mal.
Et nos églises tirent leur modèle... Même notre habillement en ce jour-ci est tiré d’Hollywood. Quel dommage cela doit être, que nos esprits pensent... ne puissent pas rester purs et saints avec Christ! Cela a fait quelque chose à l’église, cela l’a paralysée, et cela a fait quelque chose d’horrible. Tous nos journaux et tout semblent être corrompus. Mais, écoutez, mes amis, c’est en cette heure de corruption et en ce temps de corruption que Dieu tire Lui-même une Epouse qui sort de cette corruption. C’est ce qu’Il est en train de chercher, avoir une église qui portera Son Nom, quelqu’un qui recherchera une vie qui n’a pas de fin.
| E-35 It's too bad that the things of the world has so captured the church in these days. And Satan had a rude way of doing it, to bring in the televisions right into the homes, and things, and corrupting the minds of the people, and till today that--that a great percent of the church that call themselves Christians will stay home from prayer meeting on a Wednesday night to get to see some favorite program of somebody from Hollywood, or somewhere, that oughtn't to even be put out on the screen, maybe living with three or four husbands, or wives, and carrying on, and living all kinds of lives, go out on drunk parties, and smoking, and lying, and everything that can be done that's wrong.
And our churches are fashioning theirself... Even our dress in this day becomes after Hollywood. What a pity it's got to be, that our minds think--can't stay pure and holy with Christ. It's done something to the church. It's crippled it, and it's done a horrible thing. All of our papers, and everything, just seems to be corrupted. But listen, friends, it's in that hour of corruption, and that time of corruption that God draws Hisself a Bride that comes out of that corruption. That's what He's looking for, to get a church that's called by His Name, somebody that looks for a life that has no end.

E-36 Qu’en serait-il si ce soir on vous donnait le temps afin que vous viviez dix mille ans pour être tout le... roi sur toute la terre? Vous direz: «Voudriez-vous échanger cela contre votre expérience, Monsieur Branham?» Nullement. Si je vivais dix millions d’années, sans dépasser un seul jour l’âge de vingt ans, et que je possédais toute la terre et toutes les choses qui s’y trouvent, et qu’on me garantissait de ne jamais tomber malade pendant ces dix millions d’années, je leur retournerais tout de même cela. Lorsque ces dix millions d’années se sont écoulées, par rapport à ma Vie Eternelle, eh bien, cela ne sera même jamais comme... Cela n’a jamais eu de commencement, donc cela ne peut pas avoir de fin. Je suis devenu un fils, et vous, vous êtes devenu un fils et une fille de Dieu. Et Dieu n’a jamais commencé, Il n’aura donc jamais de fin. Par conséquent, la Parole de Dieu doit être exprimée dans notre propre être.
| E-36 What if they give you tonight time that you could live ten thousand years, and be all the--the king over the whole earth. Say, "Would you swap that for your experience, Mr. Branham?" No, sir. If I live ten million years, and never get a day older than twenty years old, and owned the whole earth and all the things in it, and guaranteed to never be sick in ten million years, I'd still lay it back in their lap. I've got something greater than that. I got Eternal Life. Yes.
When them ten million years is gone to my Eternal Life, why, it'll never even be like... It never had no beginning, so it can't end. I become a son, and you become a son and daughter of God. And God never did begin, so He never ends. So the Word of God must be expressed in our own being.

Et il a continué et a dit que ceux qui n’allaient pas croire en ce prophète-là seraient retranchés de l’assemblée. Et ils L’ont renié et n’ont pas cru en Lui, ils ont été retranchés de l’assemblée. C’est tout à fait juste. Remarquez. Il doit donc être un Prophète.

And he went ahead and told that the people who would not believe this prophet would be cut off from the congregation. And they denied Him, and disbelieved Him, and they're cut off from the congregation. That's exactly right. Notice. So He must be a prophet.

Vous devez croire la Parole, exactement telle qu’Elle est écrite. Il n’y a aucune contradiction en Elle. J’ai demandé pendant des années que quelqu’un me montre une contradiction. Il n’y en a pas. Même si tous les soixante-six livres ont été écrits à des centaines et des centaines d’années d’intervalles, par différents prophètes et les autres, néanmoins chaque Parole s’ajuste correctement dans l’ensemble et s’emboîte parfaitement comme cela. C’est juste. Cela ne se contredit pas. Pas du tout.
Ainsi, nous voyons que la Parole est vraie. C’est de cette manière que vous pouvez avoir la foi, non pas dans une église, ni dans une organisation, mais dans la Parole. C’est la chose qui ne passera pas.
| E-38 If you read in Saint John 5:19, Jesus said Himself, after passing by the pool of Bethesda... And there He found this man laying there, and they questioned Him about healing the rest of them, or whatever they did. He said, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, the Son can do nothing in Himself but what He sees the Father doing: that doeth the Son likewise."
Now, do you believe that that is an inspired Scripture of God? Then Jesus never performed one miracle, or did anything, until first by vision He saw the Father do it. Can't make Him lie, and let Him remain God... See?
You must believe the Word, just the way It's written. There's no contradiction in It. I've asked through the years for one person to show me a contradiction. It's not there. Though the whole book of sixty-six, wrote hundreds and hundreds of years apart by different prophets and so forth, but every word comes right together and dovetails just like that. That's right. It don't contradict Itself. It does not.
So we see that the Word is true. That's the way you can have faith, not in a church, in an organization, but in the Word. That's the thing that isn't going to pass.

E-39 Et si jamais Dieu est appelé en scène pour prendre une décision, et la première décision qu’Il prend, Il doit à jamais s’en tenir à cela.
Maintenant, écoutez. Vous et moi, nous pouvons prendre une décision, et peut-être après quelques instants, nous nous rendons compte que nous nous étions trompés, alors nous prenons une autre décision. C’est une décision meilleure. Plus tard, nous découvrons que nous nous étions trompés là-dessus. Nous prenons une autre décision, parce que nous sommes limités, en tant que des hommes de la terre, des créatures du–du temps.
Mais Dieu est infini, Il ne peut donc pas prendre de meilleures décisions, parce que chaque décision est parfaite. Si cela... Et s’Il... Si ce n’est pas le cas... S’Il était appelé en scène pour sauver un homme, la base sur laquelle Il a sauvé cet homme, Il doit éternellement s’en tenir à cette même base sur laquelle Il avait sauvé le premier homme. S’Il ne le fait pas, alors, Il s’était trompé lorsqu’Il avait agi la première fois. Et vous auriez alors le droit de dire que Dieu a commis une erreur.
Eh bien, vous pourriez dire: «Je me suis trompé. Je n’aurais pas dû faire cela. Je le ferai selon votre manière à vous, je le ferai de cette autre manière.» Maintenant, quel Dieu serait-ce là? Dieu est infini. Sur quelle base Dieu a-t-Il sauvé l’homme la première fois? Sur la base du Sang versé, et Il n’a jamais changé cela, et Il ne changera jamais cela. Absolument pas. C’est le Sang qui sauve.
| E-39 And if God's ever called on the scene to make a decision, and the decision He makes first He has to ever remain with that same decision.
Now, look. You and I can make a decision, and maybe after while we find out we were wrong, so we make another decision. It's a better one. Later we find out we was wrong there. We make another decision, because we're finite, human beings of the earth, creatures of the--of time.
But God is infinite, so He cannot make better decisions, because every decision is perfect. If it... And if He... If it isn't... If He was called on the scene to save a man, and upon the basis He saved that man, He has to forever stay with that same basis that He saved the first man by. If He doesn't, then He done wrong when He acted the first time. And then you'd have to say God made a mistake.
Now, you'd say, "I'm mistaken. I oughtn't to have done that. I'll do your way, do it this other way." Now, wouldn't that be a God? God is infinite. What was the basis God saved man on the first time? Under shed blood, and He has never changed it, and He never will change it. Yes, sir. It's the blood that saves.

E-40 Au jardin d’Eden, un animal innocent fut tué, le sang fut versé pour sauver Adam et Ève des tourments de l’au-delà, de l’enfer; un sang innocent. Et aujourd’hui, quoique nous ayons essayé d’instruire les gens pour y arriver, que nous ayons essayé de mettre les gens dans la dénomination pour y arriver, et que nous ayons essayé de faire tout, nous nous rendons compte que nous séparons les gens. Mais sous une seule chose, le Sang versé, nous pouvons tous être des frères et soeurs en Christ. C’est toujours le Sang versé d’un Innocent qui sauve.
La guérison divine reposait sur... La première fois que Dieu fut appelé sur scène pour guérir un homme, premièrement, nous comprenons que c’était la destruction... Et lorsqu’Il l’a fait, c’était basé sur cette condition: «Si tu crois...» Et Il n’a jamais changé cela depuis lors. C’est la foi dans la promesse de Dieu. Donc, cela devra toujours rester la même que...
| E-40 The Garden of Eden, there was an innocent beast killed, shed blood to save Adam and Eve from the torments beyond, hell: an innocent blood. And today, though we've tried to educate people to it, we've tried denominate people to it, we've tried to do everything, and we find out that we separate men. But under one thing, the shed Blood, we're all can be brothers and sisters in Christ. It's still the shed Blood of an innocent One that saves.
Divine healing was based upon... The first time God was ever called on the scene to heal a man, the first thing, we understand, was his consumption. And when He did he based it upon the basis of, "If you will believe..." and He's never changed it since. It's a faith in God's promise. Therefore, it must ever remain the same...?...

E-41 Remarquez, lors du sacrifice qu’Abraham avait offert, il a coupé... Lorsque Dieu a fait la confirmation, au chapitre 16 de la Genèse, lorsqu’Abraham a pris ces... la chèvre et la génisse et il les a coupés en deux, parce que la dispensation passait d’un agneau naturel à l’Agneau de Dieu. Mais, avez-vous remarqué qu’il n’avait jamais partagé la colombe et la tourterelle? Et cela a toujours représenté la guérison divine, parce que lorsqu’un lépreux ou quelqu’un comme cela était purifié, on tuait un oiseau, et on déversait son sang sur l’autre oiseau, sur ses ailes. Et ce dernier s’envolait en criant: «Saint, saint est l’Eternel», aspergeant le sang sur la terre en guise d’expiation. Et les oiseaux n’étaient pas partagés parce que cela faisait partie de l’expiation.
Et si la guérison divine était dans l’ancienne expiation, combien plus glorieuse est cette expiation, la nouvelle expiation! Voyez-vous? Ainsi donc, pour Dieu cela n’est pas du tout un problème.
| E-41 You notice, in Abraham's sacrifice, He separated... When He made the confirmation, in the 16th chapter of Genesis, when He took those--the she-goat and the heifer and cut them apart, because the dispensations came from a lamb natural to the Lamb of God. But did you notice, the pigeon and turtledove He never separated? And always represented Divine healing, because when a leper or something was cleaned, they killed one bird, and poured the blood upon the other one, his wings. Went out crying, "Holy, holy to the Lord," sprinkling the earth for an atonement. And the birds was not separated because it was included in the atonement.
And if the old atonement had Divine healing in it, how much greater is this atonement, the new one? See? So there's not a question about it to God.

Et immédiatement, de glorieux signes et prodiges commencèrent à se produire. Eh bien, Jean rendit témoignage disant qu’il avait vu le signe du Messie.
| E-42 Now, here He was. He come to fulfill the Word of God. In order to fulfill the Word of God, He had to be the expression of God's Word. Now, watch what we get. We go back. We could take plenty of time, but we won't. We'll save time, if we possibly can.
Notice. We find His ministry starting here in Saint John, and we find out... We know His birth, and how that He came from the wilderness, and was baptized of John, and then went into the wilderness, and was tempted of the devil forty days, then came out of the wilderness. And immediately great signs and wonders begin to set in. Now, John bare record, saw the sign of the Messiah.

E-43 Or, Jean n’était pas allé à l’école pour apprendre ceci, bien que son père fût un sacrificateur. Son père mourut lorsque Lui avait environ neuf ans. Au lieu de marcher sur les pas de son père pour être un sacrificateur, et ainsi de suite, et aller dans toutes leurs écoles, son travail était trop important. Il devait être le précurseur du Messie. Le prophète Esaïe avait prophétisé à son sujet sept cent douze ans avant la naissance de Jean, disant: «Ce sera la voix de celui qui crie dans le désert.» Et Malachie, le dernier prophète, a aussi dit quatre cents ans avant sa naissance: «Voici, J’envoie Mon messager devant Ma face pour préparer le chemin.»
Par conséquent, il ne devait pas recevoir une conception d’une certaine école à ce sujet. Il devait aller dans le désert. Et lorsqu’il en est ressorti... Il y est resté jusqu’à ce qu’il soit vraiment certain de connaître le signe. Et voici ce qu’il a dit: «Celui qui m’a dit dans le désert d’aller baptiser d’eau a dit: ‘Celui sur qui tu verras l’Esprit descendre et s’arrêter, c’est Celui-là qui baptise du Saint-Esprit et du Feu.’» Il devait être certain.
Et, mes amis, si Christ venait et que Jean devait être certain de ce qu’il faisait... Puisse ceci pénétrer profondément dans votre coeur: nous devons en être certains. Il se passe toutes sortes de choses, mais nous devons être certains. Vous n’avez pas à revenir pour réessayer cela. Faites-le maintenant ou ne le faites jamais. Ceci est votre heure.
| E-43 Now, John did not go to school to learn this, though his father was a priest. His father died when he was about nine years old. Instead of going down to the regular line of his father to be a priest, and so forth, and all the schools, his job was too important. He must be the forerunner of the Messiah. He was to be the one to introduce Him.
He was prophesied by Isaiah the prophet seven hundred and twelve years before he was born. "There will be a voice of one in the wilderness, crying." And also four hundred years before his birth, Malachi, the last prophet, said, "Behold, I send My messenger before My face to declare the way."
So he must not take any school's idea about it. He must go into the wilderness. And when he came back out... He stayed there until he was positive he knowed the sign. And here's what he said. "He that told me in the wilderness to go baptize with water, said, 'Upon Whom thou shall see the Spirit descending and remaining on, He's the One that'll baptize with the Holy Ghost and fire.'" He had to be positive.
And friends, if Christ was coming, and John had to be positive of what he was doing... Let this sink down deep in your heart. We've got to be positive of this. There's all kinds of things going on, but we must be positive. You don't get to come back and try it again. You do it now or never. This is your time.

E-44 Maintenant, immédiatement, Jésus... Il y avait un homme du nom d’André, un homme remarquable, un homme de bien, un pêcheur. Lui et son frère Simon pêchaient ensemble. Ils avaient donc entendu parler du ministère de Jean. Et étant donc des religieux, ils étudiaient beaucoup les Ecritures ensemble, et ils savaient qu’un Messie allait venir.
Leur père, Jonas, était un–un pharisien, un docteur. Et ainsi, comme nous l’avons appris, un jour il s’est assis sur le bord de sa petite barque, et il a dit à André et à Pierre: «Mes enfants, j’ai toujours pensé que je vivrai assez longtemps pour voir le Messie.» Mais, les cheveux gris flottant au vent, avec sa peau ridée, il a dit: «Je serai recueilli auprès de mes pères, je pense donc que je ne Le verrai pas. Mais peut-être que vous, vous Le verrez en votre jour. Eh bien, mes fils, lorsque le Messie viendra, juste avant Sa Venue, tout va arriver, toutes sortes de messies. Mais ne soyez pas séduits, mes fils. Souvenez-vous, la Bible nous enseigne, Moïse, notre–notre prophète, nous a enseignés que lorsque le Messie viendra, Il sera un Prophète, pas un instructeur, ni un érudit, un Prophète, le Roi Prophète, et tous ces grands dons qui étaient dans ces prophètes seront tous réunis dans une seule divinité. Voyez-vous? Il sera un Roi Prophète. Vous devez vous souvenir que Moïse nous a dit de ne pas nous laisser séduire, mais que l’Eternel Dieu susciterait ce Messie, Lequel sera un Prophète.»
| E-44 Now, Jesus immediately... There was a man by the name of Andrew, a great man, fine man, a fisherman. He and his brother, Simon, they fished together. So they heard of John's ministry. And so being religious, they studied the Scriptures very much together, and knowed that there was coming a Messiah.
Their father, Jonas, was a--a Pharisee, a teacher. And now, as we are told, one day he set on the side of his little ship and said to Andrew and to Peter, "My boys, I always thought that I would live to see the Messiah." But as his gray hair blowed in the wind, and his wrinkled skin, he said, "I'll be gathered with my people, so I suppose I won't see Him. But maybe you'll see Him in your day.
"Now, son, when the Messiah comes, just before His comings there'll be everything taking place, all kinds of messiahs. But don't be deceived, my sons. Remember, the Bible teaches us, Moses, our--our prophet, teaches us that when Messiah will come, He will be a prophet, not an educator, not a scholar, a prophet, the King-prophet, where all those great gifts was in those prophets will all gather in one Godhead. See? He will be a King-prophet.
"You must remember, that Moses told us not to be deceived, but the Lord God would raise up this Messiah, and He would be a prophet."

E-45 Ainsi, lorsque Jean est venu, les gens lui ont demandé, ils ont dit: «Es-tu ce Prophète-là?»
Il a dit: «Je ne suis pas Lui. Mais Il vient après moi. Je ne suis pas digne de porter la courroie de Ses souliers. Il vient après moi. Je ne suis pas ce Prophète-là, mais Il viendra après moi. Et je vous dis qu’Il est au milieu de vous maintenant, mais vous ne le savez pas.» Et Il était là. Il a dit: «Il y en a Un qui se tient parmi vous en cet instant même, que vous ne connaissez pas. C’est Lui.»
Il était très sûr qu’il vivait en ce jour-là juste avant... Il savait que son travail c’était d’annoncer le Messie. Et pendant qu’il annonçait la Venue du Messie, il savait que cela devait arriver aussitôt dans cet âge-là. Il a donc dit: «Il est au milieu de vous. Il est sur la terre aujourd’hui. Il se tient au milieu de vous.»
| E-45 So when John came, they asked him. He said, "Art thou that Prophet?"
He said, "I am not. But He comes after me. I'm not worthy to bear the latch on His shoes. He's coming after me. I am not that Prophet, but He will come after me. And I say unto you that He's among you now, and you don't know it." And He was. Said, "There's One standing among you right now Who you know not. He is the One."
He was so sure He was living in that day just before... He knowed his job was to announce the Messiah. And when he was announcing the coming of the Messiah, he knowed it had to be in that age right there. So he said, "He's among you. He's on earth today. He's standing among you."

E-46 Oh! la la! Eh bien, qu’était-ce... Cela n’aurait-il pas constitué un appât pour toutes les dénominations de ce jour-là? «Eh bien, ici nous avons docteur Untel, rabbin Dupont. Voyez, combien il est un jeune homme élégant. Voyez comment il peigne ses cheveux, comment il est éloquent. Eh bien, il est... Eh bien, il est diplômé... Il a décroché sa licence ès lettres alors qu’il n’avait que quinze ans. Eh bien, vous savez, c’est lui le Messie.» Voyez-vous?
Mais Jean, lui, secouait la tête. Il a dit: «Celui qui m’a ordonné dans le désert d’aller baptiser d’eau a dit: ‘Celui sur qui je verrai l’Esprit descendre, cette Lumière venir du ciel et se poser sur Lui, c’est Celui-là.’ J’attends de Le voir.» Un jour, alors qu’Il marchait là, et Le voilà. Il L’a vu. Un Homme sans instruction, qui n’avait jamais été à l’école un seul jour de Sa vie, nous n’avons aucun récit témoignant qu’Il ait été à l’école, Il n’a jamais écrit un livre. Rien. Nous savons à peine... Il est tout simplement apparu sur la scène, et Il s’en est allé de la même manière. Mais Il était Emmanuel.
| E-46 My, now what was... Wouldn't that give a bait for all the denominations of that day? "Well, here we got Dr. So-and-so, Rabbi So-and-so. Look what a fine looking young fellow he is. Look how he combs his hair, how well he speaks. Why, he's... Why, he graduated... He got his Bachelor of Art when he was only fifteen years old. Why, you know that's the Messiah." See?
But John would shake his head. He said, "He that told me in the wilderness to go baptize with water said, 'Who I see the Spirit on, descending, this Light coming down from heaven, and coming upon Him, that's the One. I'm waiting to find Him." One day he walked out there, and there He was. He saw Him. A man of no education, never went to school a day in His life, we don't have a record of Him ever went to school, never wrote a book. Nothing. We just hardly know... He just come up, went away the same way. But He was Emmanuel.

E-47 Tenez, André qui suivait toutes ces réunions à écouter Jean, se tenait là ce jour-là, et il a entendu Jean dire: «Voici l’Agneau de Dieu qui ôte le péché du monde.» Jean se tenait là, stupéfait, regardant quelque chose, et voici que cela descendait, et une voix dit: «Celui-ci est Mon Fils bien-aimé, en qui Je prends plaisir de demeurer.» Personne d’autre n’avait entendu cela; personne d’autre n’avait vu cela. Mais Jean rendit témoignage qu’il avait vu cela.
Pourquoi? Cela lui avait été promis. Le reste du monde ne se serait pas assis ici ce soir. Il vous a été promis quelque chose, et vous attendez cela. C’est pour cette raison qu’Il se révèle de la même manière.
| E-47 Here Andrew had been following these meetings listening to John, and he stood there that day and heard John say, "Behold the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world." John standing there amazed, looking at something, here it was coming down, a voice saying, "This is My beloved Son in Whom I am pleased to dwell in." Nobody else heard it; nobody else saw it. But John bare record that he saw it.
Why? It was promised him. The rest of the world wouldn't set here tonight. You're promised something, and you're looking for it. That's the reason He reveals Hisself the same way.

E-48 Alors, ils observaient. Jean rendit témoignage. Et André, étant rentré à la maison ce soir-là, dit à Simon: «Nous avons trouvé le Messie.»
Eh bien, je m’imagine Simon disant: «Eh bien, un instant, André. Nous avons été mieux enseignés que cela. Eh bien, un soi-disant prophète sorti d’un certain désert par là, oh! que sais-je que vous dites.»
Et un jour, Simon est entré avec lui dans la Présence du Seigneur Jésus, Eh bien, Simon n’avait pas d’instruction. Nous savons que la Bible dit qu’il était un homme du peuple sans instruction. Il ne savait même pas signer son propre nom. C’est là le genre de personnes que Dieu a pris. Et si l’instruction a un très grand rôle à jouer, pourquoi n’a-t-Il pas... pourquoi a-t-Il pris une personne comme celle-là pour lui confier les clés du Royaume?
Vous voyez, nous sortons du sentier. Eh bien, je ne soutiens pas l’analphabétisme, je présente seulement les faits. Dieu désire un coeur humble. Je préférerais que mes enfants connaissent Jésus comme étant leur Sauveur, et ne même pas savoir comment signer leurs noms, que d’avoir–que d’être les meilleurs éducateurs qui soient dans le monde entier. C’est vrai. Remarquez, car Le connaître, c’est ça la Vie Eternelle.
| E-48 So they was watching. John bare record. Andrew goes home, and he said to Simon that night, "We have found the Messiah."
Well, I can imagine Simon saying, "Now, wait just a minute, Andrew. We're taught better than that. Now, some wilderness, so-called prophet out there, oh, just whatever you say."
And one day Simon went with him into the Presence of the Lord Jesus. Now, Simon was uneducated. We know the Bible said he was both ignorant and unlearned. He could not even sign his own name. That's the kind of person that God picked. And if education is such a great part, why didn't He--why did He pick a person like that to give him the keys to the Kingdom?
See, we get off the track. Now, I'm not supporting illiteracy, I'm only stating facts. God wants a humble heart. I would rather my children know Jesus Christ as their Saviour, and not even know how to sign their name, than to have--than to be the best educator there is in all the world. That's right. Notice. For that's Eternal Life to know Him.

E-49 Il était là. Simon s’est avancé dans Sa Présence. Il a dit: «Viens simplement L’écouter une fois. Il va commencer à prêcher maintenant dans quelques jours, parce qu’Il est sorti du désert. Et les gens commencent à venir, et Il a commencé à prier pour les malades, et ceux-ci se rétablissent. Et ne serait-ce pas là le Messie?»
«Eh bien, écoute, André. Le Messie, conformément à la Parole, sera un Prophète.»
«Eh bien, je crois que Jean était un prophète.»
«Quel signe a-t-il manifesté pour dire qu’il était un prophète?» Il a simplement parlé. Voyez-vous? Très bien.
Mais venons-en à cette Personne. Maintenant, voici venir Simon Pie-... Simon qui s’avance dans Sa Présence. Et aussitôt que Jésus l’a vu, Il a dit: «Ton nom est Simon, et tu es le fils de Jonas.» Cela régla le problème. Il a reconnu à l’instant même que c’était le Messie. Pourquoi? Non seulement Il le connaissait, mais Il connaissait son vieux père qui était un homme pieux et qui l’avait gardé dans la Parole. Voyez-vous comment tout cela s’ajuste? Simon Pierre reconnut immédiatement que c’était là le Messie, et il a reçu les clés du Royaume.
| E-49 Here He was. Simon walked up in His Presence. Said, "You just come listen at Him one time. He's going to start preaching now in a few days, 'cause He come out of the wilderness. And the people has begin to come, and He's begin to praying for the sick, and they're getting well. And won't that be the Messiah?"
"Now, look here, Andrew. The Messiah, according to the Word, will be a prophet."
"Well, I believe John was a prophet."
"What sign did he show he was a prophet?" He just talked. See? All right.
But come to this person. Now, here comes Simon Pe--Simon walking up into His Presence. And as soon as Jesus saw him, He said, "Your name is Simon, and you are the son of Jonas." That did it. He knowed right then that was the Messiah. Why? Not only did He know him, but He knowed that godly old father of him who had kept him in the Word. See how it all dovetails together? Simon Peter quickly recognized that that was the Messiah, and was given the keys to the Kingdom.

E-50 Il y en avait un qui se tenait là du nom de Philippe. Il était aussi un lecteur de la Bible, et lui ainsi qu’un homme du nom d’André communiaient beaucoup ensemble–comme vous, vous allez chez... Si vous croyez... Combien parmi vous étudient avec les autres, étudient la Parole? Et vous allez à la maison, et vous sondez les Ecritures?
Et ils étaient préoccupés par le temps dans lequel ils vivaient, alors, ils ont sondé très attentivement les Ecritures. Et alors, ils ont découvert ce qu’Il était censé être. Et lorsque Philippe vit cela, cela était suffisant pour lui. Il a contourné la montagne, ce qui faisait environ 15 miles [24 km] en contournant la montagne. Si jamais vous allez en Palestine, vous pouvez voir ces endroits-là. Et il est allé là un jour pour revenir le lendemain.
| E-50 There was one standing there by the name of Philip. He'd also been a Bible reader, and he and a man named Andrew had had much fellowship--like you people, going to the house... If you believe... How many of you study with one another, study the Word? And you go to the house, and you search the Scriptures?
And they were concerned about the time they were living in, so they searched the Scriptures real close. And when they did, they found out what He was to be. And when Philip saw that, that was enough for him. Around the mountain he went, which is about fifteen miles around the mountain. If you're ever in Palestine you can mark the places. And he went around one day and come back the next.

E-51 Eh bien, lorsqu’il a trouvé Nathanaël, ce dernier était là dans le verger, dans le bosquet de figuiers, et il était là en train de prier. Et alors, voici Philippe qui vient le trouver. Je peux m’imaginer Nathanaël dire: «Philippe, que veux-tu dire? De qui s’agit-il?»
«Il s’agit de Jésus de Nazareth, le fils de Joseph.»
Eh bien, c’en était trop pour ce compagnon. Il a dit: «Peut-il venir quelque chose de bon de Nazareth, de cette bande de saints exaltés, ou plutôt (excusez-moi) de ces gens? Peut-il venir d’eux quelque chose de bon? Eh bien, nous savons que si quelque chose devait venir de quelque part, cela viendrait de notre dénomination ici. Peut-il venir de là quelque chose de bon?»
Eh bien, Philippe lui a donné la meilleure réponse que n’importe qui ait pu lui donner. Il a dit: «Viens voir.» Ne restez pas à la maison à critiquer. Venez, prenez les Ecritures, et voyez si cela est juste ou pas.»
| E-51 Now, when he found Nathanael he was in the orchard out there, in his grove of fig trees, and was out there praying. And so here come Philip to find him. He found him on his knees praying, praying to God. After he got finished praying, he raised up. And he said, "Nathanael, come see Who we have found. We have found the Messiah that was spoke of by Moses, the prophet that Moses said the Lord our God would raise up. We've found Him."
I can imagine Nathanael saying, "Philip, what do you mean? Who is it?"
"It's Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of Joseph."
Now, that was too much for that fellow. He said, "Could there be any good thing come out of Nazareth, that bunch of holy-rollers, or (excuse me) people down there? Could there be anything good come from them? Why, we know if it come from anywhere it'd be from our denomination here. Could anything good come out of there?"
Now, Philip give him the best answer that anybody could give him. He said, "Come, see." Don't stay home and criticize. Come, take the Scriptures, and find out whether it's right or not."

E-52 Sur leur chemin je peux entendre leur conversation. Et aussitôt que Simon est entré dans la Présence de ce Messie, Il l’a regardé en face, et l’a appelé Simon, et lui a dit le nom de son père.»Or, nous savons que les Ecritures disent que l’Eternel va susciter un Prophète. Et étant des Juifs, il est reconnu que nous croyons à nos prophètes. Et notre Bible nous dit aussi ici que s’il y a parmi vous quelqu’un qui est spirituel ou un prophète, Moi l’Eternel, Je parlerai à ce prophète. Et si ce qu’il dit arrive, alors, écoutez-le. Mais si cela n’arrive pas, alors ne l’écoutez pas. Et voici un Homme dont les Paroles s’accomplissent à la lettre juste là, pour prouver que c’est la vérité. Cela ne me surprendrait pas qu’Il t’appelle quand tu arriveras dans Sa Présence.»
| E-52 On the road around I can hear their conversation. I can hear Philip say here to--to Nathanael, say, "Nathanael, do you remember that time you bought the fish down there on the river from that old fisherman by the name of Simon, that couldn't sign that receipt for you?"
"Yes, I remember him. All right. Now, oh, I knowed his daddy. I bought fish from Jonas, his daddy. He's got a son named Andrew."
"Yes, they're both believers. And as soon as Simon came up into the Presence of this Messiah, He looked him in the face, and called him Simon, and told him his daddy's name.
"Now, we know the Scripture says that the Lord's going to raise up a prophet. And we're Jews, and we're knowed to believe our prophets. And our Bible tells us over here also that if there be one that's spiritual or a prophet among you, I, the Lord, will speak to this prophet. And what he says comes to pass, then hear him. And if it doesn't come to pass, then don't hear him. And here's a Man that what He says is right there on the dot to prove that it is. It wouldn't surprise me if He didn't call you, when you got before him."

| E-53 All right. When they come up in His Presence Jesus was maybe running a prayer line, or whatever it was. He might've been standing out in the audience. But wherever it was, when Jesus caught his eyes, He said, "Behold, an Israelite in whom there's no guile." That deflated him.
He said, "Rabbi, how did You know me?" Now, all of them dressed just alike. They wore beards, turbans, robes. "Rabbi, when did You know me?"
He said, "Before Philip called you, when you were under the tree I saw you." Oh, what eyes. "I saw you under the fig tree."

E-54 Vous savez quoi? C’était Jésus hier. Et s’Il est le même hier, aujourd’hui et éternellement, Il sera le même. C’est ce qu’Il sera aujourd’hui. Est-ce juste? Si c’était Jésus, ce sera le même Christ.
| E-54 You know what... That taught men of the Scripture, that predestinated seed to Eternal Life, when that Light flashed across him, he said, "Rabbi, You're the Son of God. You are the King of Israel." Not His dress did it, not His size did it, the style of His hair, the way He parted His beard, but the Spirit that was in Him showed that it was God, the Word made flesh, because It could discern the thoughts that's in the heart.
That was Jesus yesterday. And if He's the same yesterday, today, and forever, He will be the same. That's the way He would be today. Is that right? If that was Jesus, it would be the same Christ.

E-55 Voyez-vous, comme je l’ai dit il y a quelques soirées, si vous retirez toute la vie qui se trouve dans un pêcher, et que vous y transférez la vie d’un poirier, cela produira des pêches. Assurément. Vous êtes–vous êtes positionné. Vous vous êtes mis en position, en Le reconnaissant, que... Vous êtes–vous êtes maintenant appelés à voir des choses plus glorieuses. Oh! si seulement nous pouvions nous mettre dans cette position-là pour Le reconnaître, alors, nous verrons la guérison se produire dans notre corps, alors nous verrons entrer la joie, et–et nous verrons de glorieuses choses se produire.
| E-55 See, as I said a couple nights ago, if you could take all the life out of a peach tree, and transfer the life of a pear tree into the peach tree, it would bear peaches. Sure. The kind of life that's in it, that's what it bears. "By their fruit you know them." Jesus said in Saint John 14:12, "He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also." "... Son of man, Angels ascending and descending, so forth."
You're--you're in position. You've put yourself into position, by recognizing Him, that... You're--you're a subject now to see greater things. Oh, if we could only get ourselves in that position to recognize Him, then we'll see healing take place in our body, then we'll see joy come in, and--and we'll see great things happen.

E-56 Eh bien, peut-être que Son sacrificateur se tenait là. Oh! là se tenaient les gens qui ne croyaient pas à cela, les docteurs de ce jour-là se tenaient là avec leurs mains derrière le dos. Mais un jour, quand le Saint-Esprit viendra faire la même chose, dire un mot contre Cela ne sera jamais pardonné ni dans ce monde ni dans le monde à venir.» Voilà ce que c’est la maladie du péché, ce qu’il en est en ce dernier jour. Nous avons eu deux mille ans d’enseignement. Il se tenait là. Oh! nous pourrions continuer avec ces personnages, mais à cause du temps... peut-être que nous reprendrons cela demain soir.
| E-56 Now, perhaps maybe his priest was standing over there. Oh, there were those standing there who didn't believe it, the teachers of those days, standing there with their hands behind him. They knowed they had to answer their congregation. It was already done. You know what they said? They said, "This fellow is Beelzebub," the devil, fortuneteller.
And Jesus said, "I forgive you for calling Me that. But someday the Holy Ghost is coming to do the same thing, and to speak one word against It will never be forgiven in this world, neither in the world that is to come." That's how sin-sick, how it is in this last day. We've had two thousand years of teaching. There He was. How we could continue on with these characters, but 'cause of time... Maybe we'll pick it up tomorrow night again.

E-57 Remarquez. C’est ainsi... Maintenant, souvenez-vous, il y en avait là qui étaient des hommes saints; c’étaient des hommes de bien, c’étaient des docteurs. Mais Jésus a dit: «Vous parcourez les mers juste pour faire un prosélyte. Et lorsque vous l’emmenez dans votre bergerie, il est deux fois plus un enfant de l’enfer qu’il l’était au départ, a-t-Il dit, parce que vous annulez les commandements de Dieu par vos traditions.»
Et c’est là le problème que nous avons aujourd’hui. Nous avons pris les traditions et nous les avons introduites dans l’église, au lieu de prendre ce que Dieu a dit. Eh bien, vous savez que Jésus n’était pas venu de manière contraire à la promesse. Il est venu exactement tel que la Bible disait qu’Il viendrait. Mais par leur tradition, ils s’étaient représenté une autre image de Christ, et Il était venu étant pauvre et humble, très exactement ce que la Bible avait dit qu’Il serait. Et Il a fait exactement la même chose, Il a manifesté Son signe messianique, très exactement comme la Bible l’avait dit. Mais eux n’étaient pas enseignés à le croire de cette manière-là.
Ô Dieu, ne nous laisse pas manquer de voir cela cette fois-ci. Que nos coeurs et nos pensées soient ouverts pour écouter. Rends la Parole...
| E-57 Notice. That's the way... Now, remember, there were those there that were holy men; they were good men; they were teachers. But Jesus said, "You compass seas to proselyte one person. And when you bring him into your fold, he's a twofold more child of hell than he was to start with," He said, "because you make the commandments of God of non effect by of your traditions."
And that's what the trouble of it today. We have taken the tradition and added it to the church, instead of taking what God said. See? Now, you know that Jesus Christ didn't come the wrong way. He come exactly the way the Bible said He would come. But their traditions had it fixed in some other glamour of Christ, and He came poor and humble--just exactly what the Bible said He would do. And He did exactly the same thing, and showed His Messiahic sign just exactly the way the Bible said it. But they wasn't taught to believe it that way.
God, don't let us happen to skip it this time. Let's have open hearts and open minds to listen. Make the Word...

E-58 Il était la Parole, et la Parole était Dieu, et la Parole fut faite chair. Et la même Parole a promis: «Encore un peu de temps, et le monde ne Me verra plus; mais vous, vous Me verrez, car Je (et «Je» est un pronom personnel), Je serai avec vous, même en vous jusqu’à la fin du temps.» C’est juste. «Et vous ferez aussi les oeuvres que Je fais. Ne vous inquiétez pas de ce que vous diriez, car ce n’est pas vous qui parlerez. Mais le Père, le Saint-Esprit qui habite en vous, c’est Lui qui parlera. Je ne fais rien à moins que le Père Me le montre.» Il avait vu une vision.
Eh bien, la même chose se répète aujourd’hui. Tout ce que Dieu était, Il l’a déversé en Christ. Tout ce que Christ était, Il l’a déversé dans l’Eglise. C’est le même Dieu chaque fois. Dieu au-dessus de nous, Il ne pouvait pas s’approcher de nous parce que nous étions des pécheurs. Le sang des agneaux ne pouvait pas ôter le péché. Mais ensuite, Dieu s’est fait chair et a habité parmi nous. Nous le croyons. Dieu était en Christ, réconciliant le monde avec Lui-même. Tout chrétien croit cela.
| E-58 He was the Word, and the Word was God, and the Word was made flesh. And the same Word promised, "A little while and the world seeth Me no more, yet ye shall see Me for I (And 'I' is a personal pronoun.), I'll be with you, even in you, to the end of the consummation." Right. "And the works that I do, you'll do the same thing. Take no thought what you're going to say, because it's not you that speaks. It's the Father, the Holy Spirit that dwells in you. He doeth the speaking. I do nothing till the Father shows Me." He saw a vision.
Now, the same thing applies back today. All that God was He poured into Christ. All that Christ was He poured into the church. It's the same God all the time. God above us, He couldn't come near us because we were sinful. The blood of lambs could not take away sin. But then, God was made flesh and dwelt among us. We believe that. God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself. Any Christian believes that.

E-59 Aujourd’hui lorsque les gens essaient de faire de Lui juste un philosophe ou un docteur, cela m’exaspère tout simplement. Il était Dieu. Il était plus qu’un docteur, ou un philosophe. Il était Emmanuel. Dieu s’était créé un corps, Son Fils, et Il est descendu et a habité dans ce corps-là: Dieu en Christ.
«Ce n’est pas Moi qui fais les oeuvres, c’est Mon Père. Il Me montre ce que Je dois faire, et J’agis tout simplement dans Sa Présence, à Sa place.» Jean... Oh! la la! c’est tout simplement facile (Voyez-vous?) de voir ce dont Il parlait.
Suivez. Lorsqu’Il était ici sur terre, Il a dit: «Je viens de Dieu, Je retourne à Dieu.» Est-ce juste? Maintenant, n’importe quel enseignant sait que cette Colonne de Feu qui suivait les enfants dans le désert–ou plutôt le dése-... ou plutôt les enfants d’Israël suivaient cette Colonne de Feu, Laquelle était Christ. Vous tous, vous croyez cela, n’est-ce pas? L’Ange de l’Alliance était-Il...
| E-59 Today when they try to make Him just a philosopher or a teacher, it just boils me. He was Divine. He was more than a teacher, or a philosopher. He was Emmanuel. God created Himself a body, His Son, and came down and dwelt in that body: God in Christ
"Not Me that doeth the works, it's My Father. He shows Me what to do, and I just act in His Presence, in His place." Saint John... Oh, my. It's just easy (See?), to see what He was talking about.
Look. When He was here on earth, He said, "I come from God; I go to God." Is that right? Now, any teacher knows that that Pillar of Fire that followed the children in the wilderness--or the wilder--or the the children of Israel followed that Pillar of Fire, that that was Christ. All of you believe that, don't you? Was the Angel of the Covenant...

Il a même dit... qu’Il était «Avant qu’Abraham fût, JE SUIS.» JE SUIS était Celui qui était avec Moïse dans le désert, dans ce buisson ardent avant... Cela se trouve dans Jean 6: «Avant qu’Abraham fût, JE SUIS.» Et cela était une morale pour toutes les générations. Non pas «Je serai, J’étais», «JE SUIS» (au présent), le même hier, aujourd’hui et éternellement.
| E-60 Moses forsook Egypt, esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than that of the treasures of Egypt. It was Christ. Then, here was that Angel was in... Well, He said the same thing. He told them. He said even... He was, "Before Abraham was, I AM." I AM was the One that was with Moses in the wilderness in that bush of fire before... It's Saint John 6, "Before Abraham was, I AM," and that was a moral for all generations. Not "I will be, I was," "I AM" (present tense), the same yesterday, today, and forever.

E-61 Sa mort, Son ensevelissement, Sa résurrection... Et un homme du nom de Saul était en route vers Damas pour arrêter ceux qui suivaient ce chemin. Et aux environs de midi, il fut frappé par une Lumière, la même Lumière. Elle ne peut pas changer. Elle doit rester la même. «Je viens de Dieu (fait chair), Je retourne à Dieu.» Amen.
Comment savez-vous que c’était le même Dieu? Il a dit: «Seigneur...»
Il a dit: «Saul, Saul, pourquoi Me persécutes-tu?»
L’autre a dit: «Qui es-Tu, Seigneur?»
Il a dit: «Je suis Jésus.»
C’est Lui qui est venu cette nuit-là, cette Lumière-là, et qui a enlevé les chaînes dont Pierre était lié, puis Il a ouvert la porte, et l’a fait sortir, l’Ange de l’Eternel. «Je viens de Dieu, et Je retourne à Dieu», cela fait de Lui Jésus-Christ, le même hier, aujourd’hui et éternellement. Il est avec nous ce soir, le même Dieu.
Remarquez, chez Abraham, Il avait manifesté tous ces signes, depuis le début, à Abraham, mais il en était arrivé enfin au grand et dernier signe.

How do you know it was the same God? He said, "Lord..."

It was Him that come in that night, that Light, and took the shackles off of Peter, and opened up the gate, and took Him out, the Angel of the Lord. "I come from God, and I go to God," making Him Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today, and forever. He's with us tonight, the same God.
Notice, in Abraham, He showed them signs all along to Abraham, but come to the master closing sign at last.

Or, Il est venu chez les Juifs, les Juifs élus, Il a manifesté Son signe devant eux tous. Certains d’entre eux ont dit: «Hein! Béelzébul; c’est un diseur de bonne aventure», traitant d’esprit impur les oeuvres de Dieu qui pouvait discerner les pensées; ils ne savaient pas que la Parole discerne les pensées, un prophète, celui à qui la Parole de l’Eternel venait, le prophète, et Cela fait de lui une portion de la Parole. Comme nous le sommes ce soir, des portions de la Parole. Lui avait la Parole tout entière: la plénitude de Dieu était en Lui. Lui avait Cela sans mesure; nous, nous avons Cela avec mesure. Mais il s’agit du même Esprit.
| E-63 And notice Peter with the keys. He opened it to the Jews at Pentecost, to the Samaritans, and then up to Cornelius. And then from that on, it was to everybody. See? That's Jews, Samaritans, and Gentiles. Now, notice, the Jews and Samaritans... The Samaritan was half-Jew and Gentile. So they believed in a God, but they was looking for a Messiah. And if they're looking for a Messiah, then He's duty bound to come to them. Amen. I feel pretty religious right now. Know that He keeps His promise.
Now, He came to the Jew, the elected Jew, and He made His sign known before them all. Some of them said, "Huh. Beelzebub. He's a fortuneteller," calling the works of God an unclean spirit that could discern the thoughts: not knowing that the Word is a Discerner of the thoughts, a prophet, who the Word of the Lord came to the prophet, makes Him the Word in a portion. Like we are tonight, portions of the Word. He had the full Word: Fullness of God was in Him. He had It without measure; we have It by measure. But It's the same Spirit.

Mais ces choses ne vous sauvent pas. Ce n’est pas par de bonnes oeuvres que nous sommes sauvés. Si les bonnes oeuvres pouvaient sauver, Christ n’aurait pas dû mourir. Vous voyez? Il s’agit d’une naissance. Vous devez naître de nouveau. Il le faut simplement. Il n’y a aucun autre moyen du tout en dehors de cela. «Si un homme ne naît de nouveau, il ne verra aucunement le Royaume de Dieu.» Maintenant, suivez. Le péché, ce n’est pas le fait de mentir, voler, boire, commettre adultère. Ça, ce n’est pas le péché, ça ce sont les attributs de l’incrédulité. Le seul péché qui existe c’est l’incrédulité. La seule justice qui existe c’est la foi. La foi et l’incrédulité, ce n’est que de ces deux sources que cela provient. Je... La Bible dit: «Celui qui ne croit pas est déjà condamné.» Ainsi donc, lorsque... combien religieux... Les bouddhistes, ces mahométans sont autant honnêtes que le jour est long. Voyez-vous? Assurément. Ce sont des gens religieux, gentils, sympathiques, mais des incroyants. Cela fait donc d’eux des pécheurs. Et tout homme qui ne croit pas chaque Parole de cette Bible, l’esprit qui est en lui est faux. C’est le Saint-Esprit qui a écrit la Bible. C’est ce que la Bible déclare. Hébreux, chapitre 1, dit: «C’est poussés par le Saint-Esprit que les hommes d’autrefois ont écrit la Bible.» C’est juste. Donc, c’est le Saint-Esprit qui a écrit la Bible. Peut-Il faire volte-face et La renier, ou Y injecter quelque chose qui ne serait pas correct? Le Véritable Saint-Esprit dans la vie de chaque homme ponctuera chaque verset de cette Bible d’un Amen. Le Véritable Saint-Esprit croit cela.

Now, there were those there who would not believe Him, and you couldn't say they wasn't good men. No, sir. They were good men. They had to live good. You couldn't say they wasn't honest, and upright, and wouldn't cheat, or steal. No, sir. But them things don't save you. It's not by good works are we saved. If good works would've done it, Christ wouldn't have had to die.
You see, it's a birth. You've got to be born again. You just got to be. There's no way at all out of it. "Except a man be borned again, He will in no wise see the Kingdom."
Now, look. Sin is not lying, stealing, drinking, committing adultery. That's not sin. That's the attributes of unbelief. The only sin there is is unbelief. The only righteousness there is is faith. Faith and unbelief, that's the only two sources it comes from. Je... The Bible says, "He that believeth not is condemned already."
So then, when how religious... Buddha religious them Mohammedans is as honest as the days is long. See? Sure. They're religious, kind, nice people, but unbelievers. So that makes them sinner. And any man that don't believe every Word of this Bible, the spirit in you is wrong. The Holy Ghost wrote the Bible. It said so. Hebrews the 1st chapter said, "Men of old moved by the Holy Ghost wrote the Bible." Right. So the Holy Spirit wrote the Bible. Can He turn around, and deny It, or inject something in It that wasn't right? The real Holy Spirit in every man's life will punctuate every verse in that Bible with an "Amen." The real Holy Spirit, It believes it.

E-65 Or, ces Samaritains attendaient un Messie. Les Juifs sont venus, Il s’est manifesté Lui-même comme étant le Messie. Et alors, ils ont reconnu que c’était le Messie. Then there was some Samaritans. One day, He was up here at Jerusalem and was going down to Jericho, which was right down the mountain, right down along the trail to Jericho. But He had need to go by Samaria. That would be like me going to my home in Indiana by going by the way of California, go way out of your way. I live in this direction. California, I suppose, is this way (See?), down the coast. And I have to go east.
But He went up around Samaria, and He stopped at a city called Sychar, and He sent His disciples away to get food. And while they were gone into the city of Sychar, what happened? Jesus was setting over against the hill, and out come a little woman from the city. That's found in Saint John the 4th chapter. Out come a woman from the city, called the woman of Samaria. Now, listen real close.

Il a dit: «L’heure vient où les vrais adorateurs adoreront le Père en Vérité et en Esprit.» Il a saisi ce qu’était son problème. Il a dit: «Va, cherche ton mari, et viens ici.»Elle a dit: «Je n’ai point de mari.»Il a dit: «Tu as dit vrai. Car tu as eu cinq maris, et celui avec qui tu vis maintenant n’est pas ton mari.»Ecoutez cette petite femme. Malgré sa condition, elle en savait plus sur Dieu que la moitié de prédicateurs de ce jour. Elle s’est arrêtée. Elle était étonnée. Ecoutez ces... Ecoutez ces sacrificateurs d’autrefois dire: «Cet homme est Béelzébul, un diseur de bonne aventure.»Mais cette petite prostituée s’est arrêtée et a dit: «Seigneur, je vois que Tu es ce Prophète-là. Nous savons que lorsque le Messie sera venu, Il nous annoncera ces choses. Mais Toi, qui es-Tu?» Il a dit: «Je Le suis, Moi qui te parle.» C’était Jésus hier.
| E-66 This woman come out. Now, she was a woman of bad reputation. Now, if we was going to say today, we'd say, "the lady of the red light," or something. Here's what was the matter with her. She had too many husbands. She'd had five husbands, and she was living with one then. So it wasn't hers.
So she come out to get the water about eleven o'clock, and she looked over there and saw a Jew that said, "Woman, bring Me a drink."
"Why," she said, "we have (in so much), we got segregation here. Why, You shouldn't ask me that. I'm a Samaritan, and You're a Jew. We have no dealings with one another."
What's He doing now? Now, you have to take my word. He's contacting her spirit. The Father told Him to go up there, but now here's the only person that He seen. So she come, so that must be the one. So He's contacting her spirit. He said...
She said, "Why, our fathers drank from..."
But He said... first He said, "I... If you would ask Me, I would give you waters you don't come here to draw."
She said, "Oh, the well's deep, and You have nothing to draw with."
He begin to talk to her. See, he was catching her spirit.
And she said, "Why, You worship at Jerusalem; we worship in this mountain," and so forth.
He said, "The hour is coming when the true worshippers will worship the Father in truth and spirit." He caught what her trouble was. He said, "Go, get your husband, and come here."
She said, "I have no husband."
He said, "You've told the truth. For you've had five husbands, and the one you are now living with is not your husband."
Look at that little woman. She knowed more about God than half the preachers of this day, in her condition. She stopped. She was amazed.
Look at them... Look at those priests back there, said, "This man is Beelzebub, a fortuneteller."
But that little prostitute woman stopped, and said, "Sir, I perceive that Thou art That prophet. We know when Messiah cometh, He will tell us these things. But Who are You?"
He said, "I'm He that speaks to you": Jesus yesterday.

E-67 Regardez ce qu’elle a fait. Elle a laissé tomber sa cruche. Elle est entrée dans la ville en courant, elle a dit à ces gens: «Venez voir un homme qui m’a dit ce que j’ai fait. Mais lorsque Cela a frappé cette petite prostituée (elle avait été prédestinée à la Vie), elle a dit: «Nous savons; nous sommes enseignés; nous croyons. (Amen.) Nous savons que lorsque le Messie sera venu, Il nous annoncera ces choses. Et Toi, qui es-Tu?»
Il a dit: «Je Le suis.»
C’était suffisant. C’est ce qu’il fallait. Tenez, elle a vu le signe être accompli. Elle a reconnu que c’était le Messie. Elle a couru dans la ville et elle a dit aux gens: «Venez voir cet Homme. N’est-ce pas le signe même que le Messie est censé accomplir?» Voyez-vous? Et la Bible dit que les gens de cette ville ont cru en Lui à cause du témoignage de la femme. Il n’avait pas besoin d’accomplir une chose de plus. Cette femme avait témoigné que c’était la vérité. «Il m’a dit que j’ai eu cinq maris, et vous les hommes, vous savez que j’en ai eu.» C’est ça. Et Il était le Messie.
| E-67 Look what she done. She left the water pot. She run into the city, and she said to those men," Come, see a Man that told me the things I've done. Isn't this the very Messiah." In other words, isn't this the sign that the Messiah is to show?
Look at the difference, when that Light, that Spirit, swept across that little predestinated seed laying there to--ordained to Eternal Life. Them religious teachers, it never bothered them a bit. They thought so much of their way of doing things, that this couldn't... Had to be their way, or no way at all.
But when it struck that little prostitute, she'd been ordained to Life. She said, "We know; we are taught; we believe. (Amen.) We know that when the Messiah cometh, He will tell us these things. Who art Thou?"
He said, "I am He."
That was enough. That was it. Here she saw the sign done. She knowed it was Messiah. She run into the city and told the men, "Come, see this Man. Isn't this the very sign that the Messiah is supposed to do?" See? And the Bible said the people of that city believed on Him because of the testimony of the woman. He never had to do one more thing. The woman witnessed it's the truth. "He told me I had five husbands, and you men know that I have." That's it. And He was Messiah.

Comme Jésus, Il était cloué à une croix, dans Sa prison; il y en a eu un qui était perdu et un qui était sauvé. Et avec Joseph, il y en avait un qui était perdu et un qui était sauvé. Et il a été élevé pour être aux côtés de Pharaon, et aucun homme ne pouvait s’approcher de Pharaon sans passer par Joseph. Jésus est monté au Ciel. Nul homme ne vient au Père, sans passer par Jésus.
Et lorsque Joseph quittait le trône pour sortir, la trompette retentissait, et chaque genou fléchissait. «Fléchissez le genou! Joseph arrive.» Et lorsque Jésus quittera le Trône, chaque genou fléchira et chaque langue confessera. Voyez-vous? C’était là l’Esprit du Messie dans ces hommes. C’est pour cette raison que la Parole de Dieu venait aux prophètes. Et ici, toute la Parole de Dieu était manifestée en vue de racheter l’homme.
Eh bien, si c’est qu’Il était hier, c’est ce qu’Il est aujourd’hui. Alors, Paul a dit qu’Il sera le même éternellement. Nous allons donc voir.

About five hundred years after that, the Son of David set on the same mountain, weeping, a rejected King.
Look at Joseph, sold for thirty pieces of silver, almost thirty pieces of silver. Look at him. When he was borned, he was a prophet. He could prophesy, foretell things to come, interpret dreams, spiritual, loved of his fathers... Hated--of his father and hated by his brothers, exactly what Jesus was. See? And was throwed into a pit and supposed to be dead, taken up and set at the right hand of Pharaoh. No man...
In his prison... Like Jesus, nailed to a cross, in His prison, there was one lost, one saved. And Joseph, there was one lost one saved. And he ascended up by the side of Pharaoh, and no man could come to Pharaoh only by Joseph. Jesus ascended up into heaven. No man comes to the Father, only by Jesus.
And when Joseph left the throne to go out, the trumpet sounded, and every knee bowed. "Bow the knee. Joseph is coming." And when Jesus leaves the throne, every knee will bow and every tongue will confess. See? That was the Spirit of Messiah in those men. That's the reason the Word of God came to the prophets. And here the full Word of God was manifested in order to redeem man.
Now, if that's what He was yesterday, that's what He was today. Then Paul said He will be the same forever. So we see.

S’Il a confirmé que c’était Lui-même et qu’Il laisse les Gentils s’en tirer juste par la théologie, sans voir la même chose, alors, Il n’est pas Dieu. Il a fait là-bas, à la fin de leur race et de leur temps, quelque chose qu’Il n’a pas fait ici. Or, a-t-Il promis cela? Oui. Rapidement maintenant, et je vais terminer.
| E-69 Now, there come forth the Jew and the Samaritan. But we Gentiles, we wasn't looking for no Messiah. We were Romans, Anglo-Saxons, worshipping idols, so forth. We wasn't looking for no Messiah, so He never showed Hisself. Not one time did He do that before a Messiah, before a Gentile. Find it in the Bible: not one time. Why?
Now, remember, He can't change. And at the end of the Jewish dispensation and those... If He proved that to be Himself and let the Gentiles go through just on theology without seeing the same thing, then He isn't God. He did something there at the end of their race and their time that He didn't do here. Now, did He promise it? Yes. Quickly now, and I'll close.

Ce n’est pas vous qui cherchez Dieu; c’est Dieu qui vous cherche. Vous avez dit: «J’ai cherché et cherché.» Non, non. C’était Dieu qui vous cherchait. Seulement, vous ne pouviez pas vous libérer; c’est tout. Voyez-vous? C’est tout. C’est Dieu qui cherche l’homme, et ce n’est pas l’homme qui cherche Dieu. La véritable nature de l’homme s’est révélée dans le jardin d’Eden. Lorsqu’il a péché, au lieu de se présenter pour confesser cela, il a fui. Ce n’était pas Adam qui courait à travers le jardin, en criant: «Ô Dieu, ô Dieu, où es-Tu?»
C’était Dieu qui disait: «Adam, Adam, où es-tu?» Voyez-vous? C’est la même chose aujourd’hui. Voyez-vous? C’est Dieu qui cherche l’homme. Nul ne peut venir, si Mon Père ne l’attire premièrement.» Voyez-vous?
| E-70 Jesus said in Saint Luke, "As it was in the days of Sodom, so shall it be in the coming of the Son of man." You know that. Let's watch Sodom: Abraham, type of the church. Remember there's always three classes of people. That's believers, make-believers, and unbelievers. It's in every crowd. Here they come.
Abraham had come a long time, and seen great wonders before God, great signs. Now, he represents the church elected. God gave Abraham the covenant without any strings tied to it, saved him in His grace--or by His grace, unconditionally: Abraham and his seed. See?
You don't seek God; God seeks you. You said, "I sought and sought." No, no. It was God seeking you. Just you wouldn't turn loose; that's all. See? That's all. God seeks man, not man seeking God. The very nature of man showed in the garden of Eden. When he sinned, instead of coming out and confessing it, he run. It wasn't Adam running through the garden hollering," God, God, where are You?"
It was God saying, "Adam, Adam, where art thou?" See? Same thing today. See? It's God seeking man. "No man can come unless My Father draws him first." See?

Deux d’entre eux sont descendus à Sodome, ils ont prêché l’Evangile, et ont essayé de les faire sortir de là. Que tous ceux qui croient cela disent: «Amen.» Nous croyons cela. Lot était sorti.

You know the story? There was the Sodomites: unbelievers. There was lukewarm believers, Lot and his family. Here was Abraham and his family, positionally setting here. The time had come for the fire to fall. What happened? Listen close now in closing.
One day there was three Angels came up before the camp of Abraham. One of them was God Himself. Abraham called Him, "Elohim," which is God, my Lord, capital L-O-R-D, self-existing One. Came up... Two of them went down into Sodom, and preached the Gospel, and tried to draw them out. All that believes that say "Amen." We believe that. Lot came out.

Seulement, cet Ange lui avait ordonné de ne pas faire cela, mais elle s’est quand même retournée. Et elle se tient là aujourd’hui comme une colonne de sel, une disgrâce, pendant toutes ces années.
| E-72 Remember how strict His words was? Even the Angel said, "Don't even look back." And Lot's wife turned to look back, 'cause her children and grandchildren were burning up in the judgments of God. She turned, and she stands there yet today. You got to obey.
You say, "Oh, it don't make no difference what..." It does make a difference. 'Cause a woman just disbelieved a little bit of the Word, caused every sickness, heartache, death, and everything else, was Eve.
And Jesus said, "Remember Lot's wife." She had a lot more to look back for than what we have. Her children and grandchildren were burning up in the fires of God's judgment, and she... That mother just turned to look back. Only she was commanded not to do it by that Angel, and she turned back anyhow. And she stands today a pillar of salt, a disgrace, all through the years.

They did a few miracles, just like blinding the eyes when they come to get them. And preaching the Gospel blinds the eyes of the unbeliever. But they were preaching," Come out of here. Get out of Sodom."
But listen, the One that was talking to Abraham didn't say "Come out of Sodom," 'cause he and his group, it wasn't in Sodom. That's the church elected. Now, remember Jesus said, "As it was in that day so shall it be in the coming of the Son of man." Now, listen close.

Et écoutez: Nous avons eu de grands hommes tout au long des âges. Nous avons eu Moody, Wesley, Sankey, Finney, Knox, Calvin; tout au long des âges. Mais jamais nous n’avons eu pour cette église nominale un messager dont le nom se termine de la même manière qu’Abraham, pour montrer qu’il était la postérité d’Abraham: G-r-a-h-a-m pour l’église nominale. Nous avons eu toutes sortes de noms, mais jamais ce nom-là. C’est ça.
Et maintenant, un Messager a été envoyé à l’Eglise élue, Abraham. Observez ce qu’Il a fait. Il s’est assis là, et Il a dit: «Abraham...» Or, souvenez-vous qu’un jour auparavant son nom était Abram, et le nom de sa femme était S-a-r-a-ï, Saraï. Cela a été changé en Sara, S-a-r-a, et son nom qui était Abram a été changé en Abraham.
| E-75 Look at Billy Graham, that great evangelist, out in Sodom there, blasting away, doing no miracles. But "Get out of here. Repent or perish." He cries. And listen, we've had great men down through the ages. We've had Moody, Wesley, Sankey, Finney, Knox, Calvin--all the way down. But never did we have a messenger to that church nominal that ended his name the same way Abraham was, to show that he was the seed of Abraham: G-r-a-h-a-m to the church nominal. We've had all kinds of names, but never that name. This is it.
And now, there's a messenger sent to the church elected, Abraham. Watch what He did. He set up there, and He said, "Abraham..." Now, remember a day before, his name was Abram, and his wife's name was S-a-r-a-i, Sarai. Changed it to Sarah, S-a-r-a-h, and his name was Abram to Abraham.

E-76 Observez maintenant ce Messager. Il avait l’apparence d’un homme, Il portait des vêtements, des vêtements couverts de poussière. Suivez ici. Cela prouve... «Je (un pronom personnel), Je vais te visiter au temps de la vie, comme Je te l’avais promis.» Voyez-vous de Qui il s’agissait? C’était le Dieu qui lui parlait tout au long de son pèlerinage, pendant les vingt-cinq ans qu’il croyait en Lui. «Je vais te visiter selon...» Et Sara, elle, avait à ce moment-là quatre-vingt-dix ans, et Abraham en avait cent. Ils–ils ne vivaient plus comme mari et femme. Vous savez de quoi je parle, vous les adultes. Voyez-vous? Cela... ils... Cela avait déjà cessé chez eux depuis des années, parce qu’ils étaient avancés en âge.
Et elle a ri en elle-même, disant... C’est ce que nous appelons aux–aux Etats-Unis, elle a ri sous cape, vous savez. «Moi, une vieille femme, et mon mari qui est assis là dehors, un vieillard aussi, avoir encore du plaisir comme un couple de jeunes mariés?»
Et l’Ange qui avait tourné Son dos à la tente a dit: «Pourquoi Sara a-t-elle ri, disant que ces choses là sont impossibles?» Voyez-vous quel signe l’église a reçu? Ils avaient eu toutes sortes d’autres signes, mais celui-là était le dernier.
| E-76 Watch this Messenger now. Looked like a man, clothes on, dust on His clothes, setting eating veal chops, and drinking milk, and eating butter, and bread. Right. It was God setting there. He said, "Abraham, where is your wife, Sarah (S-a-r-a-h)?" How did He know his name had been changed from Abram to Abraham? How did He know he had a wife? And how did He know her name was Sarah?
And Abraham said, "She's in the tent behind You." Notice the Bible specifically said behind Him.
Watch here. Here proves... "I (personal pronoun), I'm going to visit you according to the time of life, like I promised you." See Who it was? It was the God that had been talking to him all along down the journey, the twenty-five years he'd been believing Him. "I'm going to visit you according..." And Sarah, now, she was ninety years old, and Abraham was a hundred. They--they didn't have any married life as husband and wife. You know what I'm saying, you adults. See, that... they... that ceased with them years ago, because they was well-stricken in age.
And she laughed in herself said, what we call in the--in the States, laughed up her sleeve, you know. "Me an old woman, and my husband setting out there, old too, and we will have pleasure again as a young married couple?"
And the Angel with His back turned to the tent said, "Why did Sarah laugh, saying that these things cannot be?" See what a sign that church got? They'd had all other kind of signs, but that was the last one.

E-77 Puis, lorsque la postérité d’Abraham par Isaac, la semence naturelle, Juive, était arrivée à la fin de sa vie, ce même Dieu est venu se manifester là dans la chair, montrant Son signe messianique, la même chose. Nous sommes à la fin de l’âge, nous recevons les mêmes signes qu’ils avaient reçus jadis à la fin de l’âge, juste avant que le feu ne tombe. «Messieurs, nous voudrions voir Jésus.» Il est le même hier, aujourd’hui et éternellement. Qu’attendez-vous? Car cette Vie qui était en Christ sera dans Son Eglise. Voyez-vous? Dieu... Cet homme était Dieu, Il s’était présenté dans la chair humaine, dans une forme humaine. Aujourd’hui Dieu se présente dans la chair humaine de Son église: Dieu le Saint-Esprit dans Son église, oeuvrant dans Son église, parlant en langues, interprétant les langues, guérissant les malades, et puis le dernier signe, la Parole est tellement manifestée qu’Elle discerne les pensées et les intentions du coeur. Combien voient et croient que c’est la vérité? Prions.
| E-77 Then when Abraham's seed through Isaac, the natural seed, Jew, came to the end of their life, here was that same God manifested in flesh, showing His Messiahic sign, the same thing. Now, here comes the Gentiles, the royal seed of Abraham through Christ, at the end of their age with two thousand years of teachings.
Now, the Pentecostals come on with speaking in tongues, interpretations, and so forth, and had all kinds of miracles. But remember, here we are. We're at the end of the age, receiving the same sign that they did back there at the end of the age, just before the fire falls. "Sirs, We Would See Jesus." He's the same yesterday, today, and forever.
What would you look? For that life that was in Christ would be in His church. See? God... That man was God, represented Himself in human flesh, in human form. Today God represents Himself in the human flesh of His church: God the Holy Ghost in His church, moving through His church, speaking with tongues, interpreting tongues, healing the sick, and then the last sign, the Word so manifested till It's a discerner of the thoughts and the intents of the heart. How many see that and believe that to be the truth? Let us pray.

E-78 Père céleste, nos coeurs sont remplis de joie ce soir de savoir que Jésus vit encore. Deux mille ans de critiques ne peuvent jamais Le changer. Il est le même hier, aujourd’hui et éternellement. Les programmes d’instruction ont essayé de Le changer. De grandes dénominations sont venues, et ont essayé de–essayé de changer cela. Mais Il est le Dieu immuable. Il ne change pas.
Un jour, après Sa mort, Son ensevelissement et Sa résurrection, deux amis faisaient leur route, les coeurs troublés, le matin de Pâques. Parlant de Sa mort et de Son ensevelissement, ils disaient: «Comment pouvait-Il mourir?» tout en étant Celui qu’ils pensaient qu’Il était.
Et un Homme est sorti des buissons et s’est mis à leur parler. Ils ignoraient qui Il était. Mais lorsque vint le temps du soir, à peu près à cette heure du–du soir; ils Lui ont demandé d’entrer dans une auberge et de passer toute la nuit avec eux. «Demandez et vous recevrez.» Ils ont fermé les portes, et pendant qu’ils étaient là à table, Il a fait quelque chose exactement de la manière qu’Il l’avait fait avant Sa crucifixion. Et ils ont reconnu qu’aucun homme ne pouvait faire cela comme Lui. Alors, ils ont reconnu que c’était Jésus, et Il a disparu de devant eux. Et ils ont couru et ont dit aux autres disciples: «Le Seigneur est réellement ressuscité.» Et ils ont dit: «Nos coeurs ne brûlaient-ils pas au-dedans de nous, lorsqu’Il nous parlait en chemin?» Accorde-le de nouveau ce soir, Père. Au Nom de Jésus, nous le demandons. Amen.
| E-78 Heavenly Father, our hearts are full of joy tonight to know that Jesus still lives. Two thousand years of criticism can never change Him. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Educational programs has tried to change Him. Great denominations has come up, and tried to--tried to change it. But He's the unchangeable God. He changes not.
One day, after His death, burial, and resurrection, there were two friends walking down the road, troubled hearts on a Easter morning. They said, talking about His death and His burial, "How could He ever stand to die?" and being Who they thought He was.
And a Man stepped out of the bushes and begin to talk to them. They didn't know Who It was. But when the evening time come, about this time of--of the evening, they asked Him to come into a inn and stay all night with them. "Ask and you shall receive." They closed the doors, and there at the table He did something just the way He did it before His crucifixion, and they recognized that no man could do that like Him. So they knew It was Jesus, and He vanished out of their sight.
And they run, and told the other disciples, "Truly the Lord is risen." And they said, "Did not our hearts burn within us, as He spoke to us along the road?" Grant it again tonight, Father. In Jesus' Name we ask it. Amen.

No matter how it acts through me, He's got to act through you too, because the two of us make up the unity of Him. You've got to believe. When He was on earth, there was many mighty works, miracles He couldn't do because of the people's unbelief. You've got to believe Him. And then between the two, between you and I, and the others believing, then we see Christ manifested among us.

La foi de la femme... en effet, elle avait senti en elle que sa perte de sang s’était arrêtée. Sa foi l’avait guérie. Elle ne pouvait pas retenir cela. C’est sa foi qui avait accompli cela. Alors, sa foi en Christ... Il l’a vue, et Il lui a dit que sa foi l’avait sauvée. Est-ce juste?

The Bible said that one time a little woman, say, she didn't have a prayer card, but she believed that He was the Son of God. And she said, "If I can just touch the border of His garment, I'll be made whole." How many remembers the story?
And when He touched her... When she touched Him, He turned around, and He said, "Who touched Me?" And all... See, He didn't know. Jesus wouldn't lie. He said, "Who touched Me?" And no one knew. So after while, He looked around over the audience. Her faith... 'Cause she felt within her that her blood issue had stopped. Her faith had healed her. She couldn't hold it. Her faith had done it. So her faith in Christ... He caught her, and told her that her faith had saved her. Is that right?

But now, what if Christ comes and tells you what you have been, or something that you have done, or tells you what's your trouble, or something on like He did in the Bible I talked about tonight? Then you'd know that had to come from supernatural power. Is that right? Would the audience believe that? Have to come supernatural, 'cause here is the Bible over my heart, as far as I have ever seen the man, God in heaven knows I've never seen him as far as I know, 'less I passed him on the street, or he set in a meeting somewhere, or something like that. But to know him, I do not. That's right.

Can't you see that Light? Emerald? Here He is. He's been under this affliction for a long time. It's a nervous condition. You've been in such a fix, that you haven't been able to work for a long time, just breaking down constantly.

And He talked to her long enough to find out what her trouble was, and told her what her trouble was, and she believed it. And she went and said, "Come, see a Man Who's told me what my trouble is. Isn't that the Messiah?" Would you believe the same thing, you and I meeting together? Would every woman in here believe the same thing?
Here is my hand on the Bible. I've never seen the woman, knowed nothing about her. But here she stands: seems like a nice person. Yes, the lady is suffering; one thing, I see her trying to get out of the bed. It's arthritis. She has arthritis. And then another thing, you're hard of hearing. You don't hear too good. That's right. Another thing, you got trouble with your face. I see you've had an operation. Your husband out there is sick too. That's right. You believe now He's going to make you well? All right. Go, believe it, and you can have what you ask for, in the Name of the Lord Jesus. You believe? Have faith. Don't doubt. Believe with all that's in you now. "If thou canst believe..."

But if the Lord God will reveal to me something about the woman, will it make all of you believe, and you'll know He's here? You'll believe it with all your heart? Not knowing you, but yet God knowing you, and in His Presence, as we stand, you're a Christian. And you're suffering with a weakness, a heart trouble like. Here, it's just a weak heart. There's something strange about you, though. I see rolling waters, see you are a missionary, and you are trying to gain strength to go back to a place. It's to lo... It's--it's Brazil. Believe with all your heart, and you can go back and preach the Gospel, and be missionary.
