Jéhovah-Jiré III
1 …comme nous nous en remettons à Toi, dans la
communion de Ta Parole, car Tu es la Parole. Nous demandons que Tu
parles à nos cœurs, dans le Nom de Jésus. Amen.
2 Nous avons laissé Abraham hier soir, là où… nous
avions commencé avec lui et l’avions laissé au 22e chapitre de la
Genèse, où il offrait son fils unique, un type de Dieu donnant Son
Fils. Nous avions d’abord repris les chapitres précédents, pour revoir
son cheminement, et nous n’avions pas encore fini de le parcourir. Nous
l’avons laissé, hier soir, aux abords du 16e ou du 17e chapitre. Je
crois plutôt que c’est au 15e chapitre que nous l’avons laissé. Et nous
essaierons de terminer ce soir, parce que j’ai un message de guérison
divine, le Seigneur voulant, demain après-midi.
3 Et tout pasteur est invité. Emmenez votre
congrégation. Venez vous joindre à eux dans la prière.
4 Maintenant, nous réalisons que parfois, quand
Jésus accomplissait des choses, et parfois Il fait les choses… Vous
dites: «Pourquoi alors permettrait-Il ces choses, frère Branham,
pourquoi permettrait-Il que ces choses arrivent?» — C’est parfois dans
le but d’éprouver votre foi, c’est souvent ça. Il fait les choses de
façon étrange. Pourquoi ne vient-Il pas simplement dire: «Je suis ceci,
et Je suis cela.» — Il n’a jamais agi comme ça, voyez. Il le fait pour
éprouver votre foi.
5 Regardez, les sacrificateurs pensaient que tout
compte fait Il viendrait discuter avec Caïphe, le souverain
sacrificateur. Mais, dites-moi, comment était-Il né? — Dans une étable.
Et Il fut totalement rejeté par les Siens et les dénominations de ce
temps.
6 Un jour, lors d’un sermon que Jésus prêcha…
J’aimerais seulement considérer une petite citation. Jésus était
entouré d’une foule nombreuse, et il Lui avait semblé qu’il y en avait
trop. Aussi, voyez ce qu’il a dit: «Si vous ne mangez la chair du Fils
de l’homme et ne buvez Son sang, vous n’avez pas la Vie.» Là, que
pensez-vous qu’un médecin ou qu’un intellectuel aurait pensé, après
avoir entendu les propos d’un homme qui avait la réputation d’être un
enfant illégitime, et ressemblant plus à un renégat aux yeux des gens
de ce temps, en l’entendant faire une déclaration comme celle-là: «Si
vous ne mangez Ma chair et ne buvez Mon sang»?
7 Eh bien, ils auraient dit: «Cet homme est un
vampire humain. Oh! c’est terrible, boire le sang d’un homme et manger
sa chair! Vous, mon peuple, tenez-vous loin d’un fou pareil.»
8 Il ne l’a jamais expliqué. Il ne l’a jamais
expliqué. Il n’avait pas à l’expliquer. C’est exact. Il a simplement
voulu voir la sorte de foi qui était en eux.
9 Voyez, si vous croyez, vous croyez, peu importe ce
que disent les autres. Si je priais pour cinq mille personnes ce soir,
et que ces cinq mille personnes mouraient ce soir, demain je prierais
quand même pour les malades. Vous voyez? C’est ce que Dieu dit qui
compte. Ce n’est pas ce que la personne fait. Vous voyez?
10 «Si vous ne mangez la chair du Fils de l’homme et
ne buvez Son sang, vous n’avez point la Vie en vous.»
11 Oh, eh bien, ces gens, ce groupe intellectuel,
pensez donc, ont dit: «Tenez-vous loin de lui, c’est un malade, un
sauvage. Un vampire, ma foi! manger le corps de cet homme-là!» — Ça Il
ne l’a jamais expliqué.
12 Il avait en ce temps-là avec Lui soixante-dix
prédicateurs ordonnés. La foule qui l’entourait était un peu trop
nombreuse selon Lui, et c’est par ce moyen qu’elle s’est retirée de
Lui. Aussi avait-Il les ministres ordonnés, les soixante-dix, qu’il
envoya prêcher. Il dit: «Que direz-vous quand vous verrez le Fils de
l’homme monter au Ciel d’où est venu?» — Ça non plus Il ne l’a jamais
expliqué.
13 Et ces mêmes prédicateurs ont dit: «Cet homme
monterait au Ciel d’où il est venu! Oh, mais on le connaît. On connaît
sa mère. On est allé à l’étable où il est né. On a vu le berceau qui
l’a bercé. On a pêché ensemble. On était sur les rives avec lui. Et ce
fils de l’homme monterait d’où il est venu? Il est de Bethléhem. C’est
quoi ça, cette histoire de monter! Non, non.» Et là-dessus, ils l’ont
quitté. Il ne l’a jamais expliqué, jamais.
14 Il n’avait pas à expliquer quoi que ce
soit. Dieu n’a pas à s’expliquer. Il est Dieu. Il fait les choses parce
qu’il les a promises. Il ne les explique pas.
15 Puis seuls les douze sont restés. Il s’est tourné
vers eux, et leur a dit: «Je vous ai choisis, les douze, et l’un de
vous est un démon.» Il a dit: «Voulez-vous aussi partir?»
16 C’est alors que Pierre a prononcé ces paroles
remarquables: «À qui irions-nous, Seigneur? Car nous sommes certains
que Tu détiens la Parole de Vie.» Ils L’avaient vu si manifestement
confirmé. Et ce que les sacrificateurs ou les autres pouvaient dire ne
leur importait pas. Ils surent dès ce moment qu’Il avait la Parole de
Vie. Il Lui a dit: «Tu as la Parole de Vie.»
17 Et malgré la décision des autres de Le quitter,
ici nous voyons que ces disciples-là étaient prédestinés, qu’ils
étaient ordonnés à la Vie éternelle. Non, ils ne pouvaient pas
l’expliquer, ils ne pouvaient pas l’expliquer plus que ceux qui étaient
partis. Mais il y avait quelque chose en eux, cette représentation au
Ciel. Une pensée que Dieu avait eu d’eux avant la fondation du monde se
manifestait ici, et ils étaient connectés avec Dieu et étaient certains
que c’était la promesse de Dieu qui se confirmait. Et rien n’allait
leur faire changer d’idée. C’est là un christianisme réel et
authentique.
18 Les gens d’aujourd’hui ressemblent beaucoup à ce
qu’ils étaient en ces jours où les disciples ont été pris sur la mer.
Un soir, alors qu’une tempête s’était levée, ils se sont vus sans aucun
espoir de s’en sortir. Puis ils L’ont vu venir marchant sur la mer. À
ce moment-là leur barque était ballottée par les flots, les voiles
étaient renversées, les rames cassées. Ils se tenaient les uns les
autres et criaient. Et puis ils L’ont vu venir, marchant sur la mer, et
ils s’en sont affolés. C’était leur unique espoir, et ils étaient
effrayés par l’unique chose qui pouvait les secourir. Si ce n’est pas
une vraie image d’aujourd’hui, à nouveau! Ça leur faisait froid dans le
dos. Vous savez, l’histoire relate qu’ils crièrent d’effroi, pensant
que c’était un fantôme! C’était trop spirituel. C’est la même chose
aujourd’hui.
19 Mais si seulement vous vous mettez à crier comme
eux l’ont fait… ils ont entendu une voix leur répondre: «Ne craignez
point, c’est Moi. Ne craignez pas. Reprenez courage.»
20 Et si seulement vous surveillez la Parole promise
pour ce jour, vous entendrez cette même voix parlant à travers la
Parole: «C’est Moi. J’ai promis de faire ces choses dans les derniers
jours. Ne craignez point. N’ayez pas peur. Ayez confiance en Moi, le
Fils de Dieu.» Croyez en ce qu’Il est.
21 Nous avons laissé Abraham dans la présence
d’Élohim, hier soir, où nous l’avions suivi à travers les promesses. Et
maintenant, la dernière promesse avant la venue du fils, nous voyons
ici qu’un Homme s’est présenté, habillé comme un homme, mangeant comme
un homme, parlant comme un homme. Et Abraham s’est tourné vers Lui et
il L’a appelé Élohim. Élohim. Deux d’entre eux étaient partis en
direction de Sodome, pour y prêcher. Et nous comparions ce contexte à
aujourd’hui. Vous vous souvenez tous du contexte dans lequel nous
l’avions laissé. Exactement la même chose que Jésus a prédite, quand Il
dit: «Comme il en était aux jours de Sodome…», la même chose se
présente de la même façon ce soir.
22 J’ai songé à tout cela aujourd’hui, je me suis
arrêté à penser à tout cela. Ils ont ressenti un autre tremblement de
terre, là-bas, et ils ont dit: «Les campagnes ont de nouveau été
secouées.» Et j’ai pensé, qu’est-ce que cela signifie? Vous savez,
c’est arrivé un Vendredi saint. Vous savez, il y a mille neuf cents
ans, un Vendredi saint, l’église a rejeté Jésus-Christ, et un
tremblement de terre avait alors secoué le monde entier. Et ils L’ont
de nouveau rejeté, dans l’âge de Laodicée, comme la Bible a dit qu’ils
feraient, Le laissant dehors.
23 Et ce mouvement œcuménique du Concile des Églises
est exactement ce qu’ils font. Ils sont en train de forfaire à tous
leurs enseignements évangéliques, et tout. «Comment deux peuvent-ils
marcher ensemble à moins d’être d’accord?» — Eh bien non, c’est
impossible.
24 Cela ne marchera pas avec de réels et
authentiques chrétiens. Ils n’accepteront jamais ça. Non monsieur. Un
chrétien né de nouveau ne tombera jamais dans un piège comme celui-là.
Ça a le même effet que de mettre un canard en cage. Ils savent qu’il
est destiné à l’abattoir. Vous ne l’emmènerez jamais dans ça. Un vrai
chrétien né de nouveau restera à l’écart de ces choses.
25 Ici Abraham parlait à un Homme qui avait le dos
tourné à la tente où se trouvait Sara. Un jour ou deux précédant ces
événements, le nom d’Abraham était Abram, et Sara était Saraï. Ici Il
s’est adressé à Abraham dans son nom de père, de prêtre. «Abraham, où
est Sara (princesse), ta femme?»
Il lui répondit: «Elle est dans la tente, derrière
Toi.»
26 Il reprit: «Je reviendrai vers toi quand son
terme sera là, selon la promesse.» En d’autres mots: «Un autre mois, et
Je reviendrai selon ce que J’ai promis.»
27 Il attendait ce fils promis depuis maintenant
vingt-cinq ans, ne chancelant pas à la Parole de Dieu par incrédulité,
mais se fortifiant, donnant gloire à Dieu. Surveillez ceci maintenant.
28 Et Sara, dans la tente, si on employait un
langage courant, a pour ainsi dire ri sous cape, disant: «Moi, une
vieille femme de quatre-vingt-dix ans, j’aurais des désirs avec mon
seigneur, mon mari, lui qui a cent ans?» Ils n’avaient plus de rapports
ensemble depuis de nombreuses années.
29 Et l’Homme, le dos tourné à la tente, a dit:
«Pourquoi Sara a-t-elle douté, se disant ces choses en elle-même?»
Voyez? Et de cette façon Abraham a reconnu quel était celui qui lui
parlait. C’était bel et bien Élohim. Son signe prouvait Sa déclaration.
Il dit: «Je reviendrai vers toi.» Pourquoi a-t-Il dit «Je»? Pourquoi
l’a-t-Il appelé Abraham, quand Il était Celui-là même qui lui avait
donné le nom? — C’était dans un symbole, non pas dans la présence d’un
homme; montrant exactement ce qui allait arriver. Il lui a confirmé Son
autorité et la Parole promise, que cet Homme qui lui parlait était bien
Dieu, Élohim.
30 Ici nous voyons, dans Hébreux, chapitre 4, verset
12, comme je l’ai cité deux fois déjà ces derniers soirs, la Bible dit
ici: «La Parole de Dieu discerne les pensées qui sont dans le cœur, les
secrets du cœur.»
31 Et quand Jésus regardait la congrégation et
discernait leurs pensées, quand Il a dit à la femme combien de maris
elle avait, et à Nathanaël où il se trouvait, c’était là la
confirmation qu’Il était ce Messie, Dieu, Emmanuel, parce qu’Il était
la Parole.
32 C’est ainsi qu’étaient les prophètes. On
considérait les prophètes comme des dieux. Vous comprenez bien cela.
Jésus Lui-même a aussi dit: «Comment pouvez-vous Me condamner? Ceux à
qui vient la Parole de Dieu, vous les appelez des dieux. Et comment
pouvez-vous Me condamner, parce que Je dis que Je suis le Fils de Dieu?
Et si Je ne fais pas les œuvres de Mon Père, alors ne Me croyez pas.
33 Il était la Parole confirmée de Dieu pour cet
âge. Maintenant, s’Il était venu avec le signe de Moïse, cela n’aurait
pas fonctionné. Si Moïse était venu avec le signe de Noé, ce n’était
pas ce qui était prophétisé pour son jour.
34 Et tous ces clergés, et cette théologie, et ces
collèges, et ces écoles, et ces ministres instruits, c’est tout bien,
on n’y voit rien contre, mais ce n’est pas ça le Message de l’heure.
C’était pour ce jour d’obscurité.
35 «Au temps du soir, la lumière paraîtra.» Il a
promis ces choses. Je l’ai lu et relu de la Parole. Il a dit que ce qui
s’était passé autrefois se répéterait. Je pourrais relier cela avec
chaque Écriture de la Bible et vous montrer que c’est la vérité.
36 Maintenant, Ses déclarations furent confirmées
quand Il nomma Sara par son nom et ce qu’elle avait fait derrière Lui.
Maintenant remarquez, Il a promis que dans le prochain mois elle
concevrait, quand son terme serait là.
37 Remarquez maintenant. Le sentier suivi par
Abraham était un type de la Semence royale. Si vous remarquez, la
promesse était pour Abraham et ses enfants après lui. Et ses enfants
étaient tout d’abord la semence naturelle, et puis la Semence royale,
qui était Christ. La première semence, venue par le sexe, était Isaac;
mais sans le sexe est venu Jésus, la Semence royale.
38 Maintenant, le Sang, voyez, nous sommes sauvés
par le Sang. «Et sans effusion de sang, il n’y a pas de pardon.»
39 Remarquez, Jésus n’était pas Juif, Jésus n’était
pas des nations. Jésus était Dieu. Il n’était ni ne pouvait être Juif
ou Gentil. Voyez, le sexe mâle procure l’hémoglobine, qui est le
globule sanguin. Le germe est dans le globule sanguin.
40 J’ai entendu les gens d’ici, beaucoup d’entre
vous… je faisais une ronde l’autre jour, sur les fermes, et de ceux qui
élèvent des poulets. Là, une poule peut couver son œuf, une vieille
mère poule peut couver son œuf, mais si elle n’est pas d’abord allée
avec le mâle, il n’éclora pas. Mais elle peut toutefois couver son œuf,
parce que l’œuf vient de la femelle. Mais, le sang… la vie est dans le
sang.
41 Donc, Sa vie était une vie créée, non pas
engendrée d’un homme.
42 Et puis l’ovule n’était pas de Marie, car si
l’ovule avait été de Marie, comme la plupart des protestants le
croient, et les catholiques aussi, que l’ovule était de Marie, cela
aurait fait de Lui un humain. Non, si le globule était de Dieu, l’ovule
l’était aussi, parce que Marie n’aurait pas pu procurer cet ovule… Vous
savez de quoi je suis en train de parler. Elle n’aurait pas pu l’avoir
sans sensation. Et puis s’il eût été cela, qu’auriez-vous donc fait
faire à Dieu? — Du sexe à nouveau. Vous voyez?
43 Donc l’ovule et le globule étaient de Dieu. Amen.
Croyez en cela, et vous aurez la foi pour avancer. Nous ne sommes pas
sauvés par un sang juif ou par un sang des nations. Nous sommes sauvés
par le Sang du Dieu-même, des globules créés.
44 Comme je le disais, prenez ces vieilles mères
oiseaux. Le printemps est de retour, et je remarquais qu’elles allaient
se chercher des brindilles, pour faire leurs nids. Elle peut se faire
un nid et y couver un tas d’œufs; elle peut s’asseoir dessus et les
garder bien au chaud, et être loyale à ces œufs au point d’en devenir
si faible, qu’elle ne pourrait plus quitter son nid pour se trouver
quelque chose à manger. Toutefois, si elle n’est pas allée avec le
mâle, ils n’écloront jamais. Ils ne sont pas fertiles. Vous savez ça.
Ils resteront au fond du nid et pourriront là.
45 Et c’est à la manière de certaines de nos
églises. Nous n’avons qu’un nid plein d’œufs pourris. Ils n’ont pas la
foi d’Abraham. Il est grand temps de nettoyer le nid et de recommencer,
d’entrer en contact; non pas avec une organisation quelconque, un
séminaire théologique quelconque, mais d’entrer en contact avec le
mâle, Jésus-Christ, qui apporte la fertilité à l’Esprit de Vie qui est
en vous. Il est Celui qui vous emmène à y croire. Nettoyez le nid et
recommencez. Vous leur tapotez l’épaule, les faites entrer et les
nommez diacres, étant mariés quatre ou cinq fois, et tout. Dans quel
monde vivons-nous, de toute façon! On les envoie au séminaire et leur
injectons de ces fluides d’embaumeurs, et les retournons.
46 Et ici, l’autre jour, une estimation démontrait
que quatre-vingt-dix-neuf pour cent des prédicateurs protestants de la
nation ne croient pas dans la seconde venue de Christ.
Quatre-vingt-sept pour cent nient la naissance virginale. Pensez à ça.
Qu’est-ce que nos enfants vont devoir envisager plus tard?
47 Mon Dieu, ramène-nous de nouveau à la foi qui a
été transmise aux saints une fois pour toutes.
48 Abraham… surveillez sa façon d’agir au fur et à
mesure qu’il avance, comme l’église en est le type. Tout ce qu’Abraham
a fait… Nous avons considéré le cheminement de l’église. Si nous avions
une semaine ou deux, je pourrais vous le démontrer, pas à pas. L’église
a suivi le même sentier. Le dernier signe était Dieu, la Parole promise
qui lui parlait, dans une chair humaine, la dernière promesse avant la
destruction des Gentils, qui étaient alors Sodome et Gomorrhe.
Maintenant, pensez bien qu’Abraham, avant… Dieu lui était apparu dans
différents symboles, et lumières, et formes, et signes, mais Dieu
n’était jamais venu vers lui en tant qu’être humain, pour lui parler
d’une voix audible, comme le fait un être humain, de la bouche d’un
être humain. Et rappelez-vous, la promesse est désormais en attente
d’accomplissement, Sodome va être brûlée, le dernier message est en
cours.
49 Et voici l’église nominale. Voici un Billy Graham
moderne au milieu d’elle, pour les secouer.
50 Voici l’Église élue, qui n’est pas à Sodome,
appelée, séparée. Ils ont un messager. Remarquez, le groupe d’Abraham a
eu le Message. Et quel était-il? — Dieu, qui lui avait parlé tout le
long, en symboles et en formes et tout, est monté vers lui. Et
maintenant Il se manifeste dans la chair humaine et discerne la pensée
qui est dans le cœur de Sara, derrière Lui. Et Abraham a dit: «C’est
Élohim, Celui qui se suffit à Lui-même.» Rappelez-vous, immédiatement
après cela, Sodome a été brulée. Réfléchissez à cela.
51 L’église est peut-être en train de recevoir son
dernier signe. Vous avez crié de joie, vous avez eu la justification
par Luther, la sanctification par Wesley, un temps béni, de cris et de
joie, de parler en langues, d’interprétation des langues, de guérison
divine. Mais où en sommes-nous maintenant? Dieu parle au milieu de
nous, à travers nous, d’une voix audible, comme Il l’a fait là-bas. Et
Il a promis de le faire. C’est la chose. Ce n’est pas quelque chose que
l’on peut fabriquer. C’est la Bible qui le dit. Jésus a dit qu’Il le
ferait, se ferait connaître à nouveau. Remarquez qu’immédiatement après
cela…
52 Abraham a plaidé pour Lot. Et Il a dit que s’Il
trouvait dix personnes, qu’Il l’épargnerait. Mais les messagers qui s’y
trouvaient n’ont pas pu même en trouver autant. Ils ont rejeté les
messagers.
53 Comme ce qu’a dit Billy Graham lors d’un
déjeuner, ici, dans notre ville, à Louisville, Kentucky. J’étais à ce
déjeuner, et il a dit: «Je vais dans une ville…» Il a tenu sa Bible
dans les airs… c’est un fervent de la Bible, et il a dit: «Je vais dans
une ville y tenir une campagne, et j’obtiens trente mille conversions,
ou décisions.» Il a dit: «Si dans six mois j’y retourne, je ne peux
plus en trouver trente.» Et il a dit: «Paul allait dans une ville, et
là, une personne se convertissait. Quand il revenait l’année suivante,
ce converti avait fait des convertis, au point que ce converti en avait
converti des centaines.» Il a dit: «Qu’est-ce qui se passe de nos
jours?» Il a dit: «Vous, bande de prédicateurs paresseux.» Il a dit:
«Vous êtes bien assis, les pieds sur vos pupitres, et vous ne sortiriez
pas les visiter.»
54 Maintenant, qui suis-je, moi un illettré, pour
contester le grand évangéliste? Mais j’aurais aimé lui dire quelque
chose. Je lui aurais dit: «Billy, quel prédicateur a pris le converti
de Paul?» Voyez?
55 C’est parce que Paul l’a emmené suffisamment loin
pour que Christ vienne en lui, et il est devenu un feu vivant, jusque
dans la Présence vivante. Non pas un mouvement intellectuel, ou un club
social, ou une signature, ou une insistance à venir à l’église.
Emmenez-les au baptême du Saint-Esprit, et ensuite il sera plein de
feu, il mettra au monde des enfants. Comment pouvez-vous le faire s’il
est stérile? Il ne pourra pas avoir d’enfants avant d’avoir lui-même la
Vie. Et c’est de la seule façon que toute chose peut se re-proclamer,
c’est par le germe. Et le germe qui est le Saint-Esprit qui était en
Christ est dans le croyant.
56 Maintenant nous remarquons que le dernier signe
offert à Abraham était littéralement Dieu, la Parole. Rappelez-vous,
Dieu, la Parole promise qui lui avait été promise dès le commencement,
lui a parlé dans une chair humaine. Un Homme se trouvait là, lui
parlait, discernait les pensées qui étaient dans le cœur de Sara, elle
qui était dans la tente, derrière Lui. Cela a été le dernier signe.
Maintenant, Il était, avant de lui apparaître sous différents symboles,
et ainsi de suite, comme la lumière, le feu, etc., Il lui était apparu,
mais remarquez, immédiatement…
57 Je voudrais vous faire remarquer ce qui est
arrivé au vieux couple. Là j’espère que vous ne me considérez pas comme
étant quelqu’un qui veut bouleverser l’ordre existant. Et si vous ne le
croyez pas, eh bien, voyez, laissez ça tranquille. Mais je voudrais
simplement vous parler de ce que je crois être arrivé.
58 Avez-vous remarqué ceci: comment Sara va-t-elle
avoir cet enfant? Elle a maintenant cent ans. On a dit: «Eh bien,
c’était différent dans ce temps-là?» — La Bible dit que l’état de son
sein était mort, et la Bible dit qu’ils étaient tous les deux avancés
en âge.
59 Mais Il fait à Sara et à Abraham, de ce même
point de vue, ce qu’Il a promis de faire à leur Semence. Et Il l’a
fait! Je peux le prouver, les étapes mêmes qu’Abraham a suivies. Là
regardez l’endroit où il se trouve ici, quand Dieu vient lui parler,
dans une chair humaine, quand Il se fait connaître Lui-même à lui.
60 Comment Sara va-t-elle avoir cet enfant?
Maintenant, Abraham avait vécu avec elle, et peut-être était-il… Il est
dit: «Son corps était usé…» La Bible le dit. «Son corps, déjà amorti,
l’état du sein de Sara, mort, mais il ne chancela pas. Il crut.»
Maintenant voyez, si Sara…
61 Vous êtes un auditoire mixte, et vous me
pardonnerez, mes sœurs. Vous écouterez votre docteur; moi je ne suis
qu’un frère. Mais remarquez bien ceci: Sara, âgée de quatre-vingt-dix
ans, est trop âgée pour supporter un accouchement. Son cœur ne le
supporterait pas. Vous savez cela. Autre chose aussi, ses glandes
mammaires étaient taries. On n’avait pas de centre médico-social ni de
biberons stérilisés en ces jours-là. Voyez, il fallait que ce soit un
sein maternel. Remarquez. Donc, comment va-t-Il s’y prendre? Comment
va-t-elle avoir cet enfant? Son sein est mort. Elle est amortie dans

Il les a changés en de jeunes gens. Je peux vous le prouver. Il a fait
d’eux un jeune homme et une jeune femme, les a ramenés à l’état de leur
jeunesse. Oh! quelle belle promesse!
Vous dites: «Oh! frère Branham!»
63 Là, attendez une minute pour voir. Patientez.
Ceci pourrait vous blesser quelque peu, blesser les légalistes, mais je
voudrais que vous voyiez ceci pendant un petit moment. Nous enseignons
ceci simplement comme une leçon d’école du dimanche. Il les a ramenés à
leur état de jeune homme et de jeune femme, d’environ vingt ans.
64 Abraham, remarquez, est âgé. Sa barbe est très
longue. Son corps est usé. Ses bras sont amaigris. Sara, une petite
grand-mère clopinant sur sa canne, un petit châle sur ses épaules, un
petit bonnet sur sa tête.
65 Le lendemain, eh bien, Abraham, le dos voûté, les
cheveux blancs, et Sara de lui dire: «Abraham chéri, qu’est-ce, ta
barbe a repris du noir.» «Sara, tes jolis yeux ont repris de leur
éclat. Tes joues sont rosées.» Avant que le soleil ne se couche ce même
soir, elle était redevenue une jeune femme, et lui un jeune homme.
Vous dites: «Quel non-sens, frère Branham!»
66 Oh, oui, ce l’était, assurément. Voyez maintenant
venir immédiatement une merveilleuse promesse et un type pour la
Semence royale d’Abraham. Rappelez-vous, est-ce une promesse? — Oui,
nous serons changés. Ils ont été changés à l’état d’un jeune homme et
d’une jeune femme, montrant exactement ce qui attend l’Église, la
Semence royale.
Vous dites: «Est-ce une promesse?»
67 I Thessaloniciens 4.17: «La trompette de Dieu
sonnera, et nous serons changés en un instant, en un clin d’œil, pour
être ensemble enlevés.» Pourquoi? — Son corps, leurs corps ont dû être
changés pour recevoir le fils. Et nos corps mortels devront être
changés pour recevoir le Fils, parce que nous serons ravis. Nous
devrons être d’un corps différent de celui-ci, car nous serons enlevés
dans les airs, pour Le rencontrer. Amen. C’est tout à fait avec les
Écritures, vous voyez. Ils ont été changés. Si jamais nous allons
rencontrer le Seigneur dans les airs, nous ne pourrons Le rencontrer
dans ces corps-ci, car ils sont liés à la terre. Mais nous allons en
recevoir un, alléluia! qui montera dans l’Enlèvement.
68 Et ce qu’il y a de merveilleux en cela, c’est que
nous sommes tout près de cet événement. Tous les éléments sont en
place. Il ne reste plus beaucoup de temps maintenant, et un de ces
matins il y aura un changement. Vous voyez?
69 Mais, rappelez-vous, c’est seulement à cette
Semence royale que cela viendra. La venue de Jésus sera si secrète que
le reste du monde n’en saura rien. Savez-vous, ils ne seront
probablement pas trop nombreux. «Comme aux jours de Noé, où huit âmes
ont été sauvées par l’eau, il en sera de même à la venue du Fils de
l’homme.» «Étroite est la porte et resserré le chemin, et peu les
trouveront.» Vous dites qu’il y en aura des millions? — Oui, les
rachetés de tous les âges, bien sûr. Mais de ce lieu de ravissement, où
nous nous tenons maintenant!
70 Que se produira-t-il un de ces jours? — Ils vont
commencer à dire: «Là, vous savez, c’est ici la période de
tribulations. Je pensais que l’église allait être enlevée avant ça.» —
C’est pourtant vrai; non pas l’église mais l’Épouse. L’église passe par
la période de tribulations, mais pas l’Épouse. Non monsieur. Elle est
rachetée. Elle n’a plus rien à purifier. Elle est déjà pure. Le
Saint-Esprit est venu en elle et l’a purifiée; Il a enlevé tout de la
souillure du monde, et elle croit cette Parole et en est participante.
C’est exact. Sans le Saint-Esprit, rien ne se fait. C’est l’Épouse qui
sort de l’église. Et ce qui est appelé «le reste de la semence de la
femme» est laissé et devra passer par la période de tribulations.
71 Vous savez, une fois, après que toutes les
Écritures (Ésaïe, Malachie 3 et Ésaïe 40) eurent prophétisé la venue de
Jean le baptiseur, Jean a rempli exactement ce que leurs écrits avaient
prédit de lui. Et même les disciples sont venus à Jésus et Lui ont
demandé: «Pourquoi les scribes (les Écritures) disent-ils qu’Élie doit
venir premièrement?»
72 Il a répondu: «Il est déjà venu, et vous ne
l’avez pas reconnu. Il est venu, et ils lui ont fait exactement ce qui
était supposé lui être fait, et vous ne l’avez pas reconnu.»
73 Maintenant, c’est un de ces jours où vous
pourriez dire: «Qu’en est-il de l’Enlèvement?»
74 «Il est déjà venu, et vous ne l’avez pas
reconnu.» «Deux personnes seront dans un lit, l’une sera prise, l’autre
laissée.» Vous savez, il y a de toute façon plusieurs centaines de
personnes qui disparaissent de ce monde chaque jour. Ils ne peuvent pas
s’arrêter à ça.
75 Et pensez seulement que les gens continueront à
prêcher et croiront qu’ils obtiennent leur salut. Comme c’est triste.
76 Et Noé entra dans l’arche, et la porte se referma
derrière lui, par la main de Dieu. Le soleil se leva et se coucha
durant sept jours avant que quoi que ce soit n’arrive. Et les gens ont
continué à prêcher, à se moquer, et tout le reste, ne reconnaissant pas
que leur seul salut se refermait sur eux.
77 Pensez, des ministres seront toujours en train de
former des prédicateurs et de les envoyer prêcher, et des œuvres comme
celles-là, l’église sera simplement en mouvement; mais ils seront
complètement privés de miséricorde, de tout, totalement retranchés.
L’Enlèvement a eu lieu. «Que celui qui est souillé se souille encore»,
dit l’Écriture. «Il est déjà venu, et vous ne l’avez pas reconnu.»
Pensez à cela ce soir, les amis, et prêtez attention à ce qui se passe.
78 Il n’y a rien en ce monde qui puisse maintenant
vous réconforter si ce n’est la Parole de Dieu. Vous voyez? Il n’y a
pas d’autre espoir en dehors de ça; votre nation, nulle part ailleurs.
79 Nous sommes rongés jusqu’au cœur. Vous savez ça.
Le communisme a rongé la chose. Comme c’était prédit. Vous n’allez pas
pouvoir arrêter ça. La Bible l’avait prédit ainsi, c’est pourquoi vous
n’allez rien pouvoir arrêter. C’est tout.
80 Soyez prêts pour l’Enlèvement. C’est la seule
chose à faire.
81 I Thessaloniciens 4.17 dit que «nous serons
changés», comme Abraham l’a été, «et enlevés», un corps différent.
Maintenant, Abraham, leurs vieux corps devaient être changés. De même
les nôtres devront être changés, pour répondre à la promesse. Nous
devrons être changés. Là vous dites: «Ces vieux corps?»
82 Je prêchais à un groupe Kiwanis, ici, il n’y a
pas longtemps. Par après, un docteur est venu et m’a dit: «M. Branham,
j’apprécie votre discours, mais, vous savez, je ne peux rien croire de
tout cela avant que ça ne soit prouvé scientifiquement. Vous savez, la
naissance virginale et ces choses-là, et qu’Il était Dieu!»
83 Je lui ai répondu: «Vous ne Le croirez jamais,
parce qu’on ne peut pas prouver Dieu scientifiquement. C’est par la foi
que vous devez Le croire, par la foi.»
84 Il a dit: «Eh bien, je ne crois rien de ce qui
n’est pas scientifique.»
J’ai dit: «Êtes-vous marié?»
Il a répondu: «Oui, monsieur.»
J’ai dit: «Aimez-vous votre femme?»
Il a répondu: «Certainement que je l’aime.»
85 J’ai dit: «Alors montrez-moi de manière
scientifique ce qu’est l’amour. J’aimerais en acheter, si vous voulez
bien m’indiquer quel drugstore en vend. J’en ai réellement besoin.»
Vous voyez, une chose simple.
86 J’ai dit: «Je vous ferai une question. Êtes-vous
fait de la poussière de la terre?»
Il a répondu: «Oui, monsieur.»
87 J’ai dit: «Nous recevons cette poussière en
mangeant les aliments de la terre, c’est-à-dire la flore, et ainsi de
suite.»
88 Vous voyez, c’est seulement par une substance
morte que vous vivez. Voyez? Si vous êtes en vie, quelque chose doit
mourir, pour que votre corps conserve sa force vitale. Si vous mangez
des pommes de terre, c’est une substance morte. Si vous mangez du
bifteck, c’est qu’une vache est morte. Si vous mangez du porc, un
cochon est mort. Si vous mangez des légumes, ils sont morts. C’est une
forme de vie. Et vous conservez seulement la vie, au point de vue
naturel, que par la substance d’une chose morte. Une substance morte!
Cela ne vous emmène-t-il pas à penser, mon ami, que vous ne pouvez
éternellement vivre que par la substance d’une chose qui est morte pour
vous? Christ est mort, il est vrai, et ressuscité, pour confirmer Sa
divinité. Remarquez maintenant.
89 J’ai dit: «Docteur, si je me nourris d’aliments,
alors chaque fois que j’en mange, cela va dans mon corps et fabrique
des globules.»
Il a dit: «C’est exact.»
«Donc chaque fois que je mange, je renouvelle ma
force vitale.»
Il a dit: «C’est exact, ce sont de nouveaux
globules.»
90 J’ai dit: «Dans ce cas, j’aimerais vous faire
cette question. Quand j’avais seize ans, je mangeais du maïs, des
fèves, des pommes de terre et de la viande, tout comme je le fais
aujourd’hui. Et chaque fois que j’en mangeais, je prenais du poids et
de la force. Et puis quand j’ai eu près de vingt-deux ans… Tout être
humain, peu importe la quantité ou la qualité de son alimentation, son
corps vieillit et s’affaiblit. Maintenant, si je verse l’eau de ce
verre dans cet autre verre, et que je le remplisse à moitié, et que je
continue à verser, après l’avoir déjà rempli de moitié, plutôt que de
se remplir, il se vide. Prouvez-moi scientifiquement comment cela se
fait. Voyez? Comment se fait-il que je mange les mêmes aliments,
renouvelant ma force vitale chaque jour selon… Des preuves, des preuves
scientifiques ont démontré que je renouvelle ma force vitale quand je
reconstitue de nouveaux globules, les mêmes que lorsque j’avais seize
ans. Mais pourquoi est-ce que, depuis mes vingt ans et quelques, ça ne
dépend plus de la quantité de nourriture que je prends? car je diminue,
vieillis sans arrêt, et m’affaiblis tout le temps? Au lieu de me
renouveler, comme cela le faisait autrefois, maintenant cela
m’affaiblit.» — C’est un rendez-vous. C’est ce que c’est.
91 Mais Dieu a pris une photo de quand vous aviez à
peu près vingt ans, si rien n’a interféré, comme pour ce jeune garçon
infirme qui est ici. C’est comme une tige de maïs qui s’est mise à
pousser et sur laquelle une chose est venue se déposer et qui l’a fait
pousser croche; si vous pouvez déplacer cette méchante chose qui la
fait pousser croche, la tige va se redresser. Elle le devra, c’est
tout. Remarquez, si rien ne l’interfère, voilà, de belles jeunes dames,
de beaux jeunes hommes. Vous et votre mari ensemble, de modernes Adam
et Ève, comme au commencement. Dieu a dit: «Les voilà. Toi, la mort, tu
les poursuis, tu peux même commencer à les avoir, mais tu ne peux pas
entièrement les avoir avant que Je les rappelle.» C’est quoi
maintenant? — C’est le négatif. Oh là là! Voyez?
92 C’est exactement ce qu’Il a fait à Sara et à
Abraham. Il a effacé leur vieillesse. La vieillesse représente la mort.
Et il n’y aura pas de représentations de la mort dans le Ciel. Voyez,
tout souvenir de la mort sera effacé, et la vieillesse n’existera pas.
Nous serons tous jeunes. C’est une photo de votre jeunesse que Dieu a
prise de vous. Et là Dieu a ramené Abraham et Sara de nouveau à cet âge
favorable de leur jeunesse. Voilà où nous nous trouvons.
93 Une autre preuve que j’aimerais vous montrer
maintenant. Je sais, je sens que ça ne passe pas trop bien. Vous ne le
croyez pas. Eh bien, permettez-moi de vous poser cette question.
Laissez-moi vous apporter quelque chose. Laissez-moi vous montrer que
cela leur est bien arrivé. Surveillez ça.
94 Regardez sur la carte, à l’endroit où ils se
trouvaient quand Dieu leur est apparu, à proximité de Sodome. Tout de
suite après, ils ont entrepris de se rendre à Guérar, situé à près de
cinq cents kilomètres de là. C’est tout un voyage pour des gens âgés.
Voici ce vieil homme à longue barbe, appuyé sur son bâton. Voici la
petite grand-mère, vous savez, avec son petit bonnet, avançant en
traînant les pieds derrière lui, des petits pas de dix douze
centimètres.
95 Et puis le problème s’est trouvé à leur entrée à
Guérar, où se trouvait Abimélec, un roi en quête d’une bien-aimée. De
toutes les belles femmes qu’il avait là-bas, les filles des Philistins,
quand il vit Sara, il tomba amoureux d’elle et voulut la marier.
N’est-ce pas? — [Amen.] Ha-ha! Oh!
96 Oh, frère, la Bible est comme une lettre d’amour.
Vous devez lire entre les lignes pour en saisir le sens. Dieu a dit:
«Il l’a caché aux yeux des sages et des intelligents, et l’a révélé aux
petits enfants.»
97 Quand je suis au dehors, en mission, ma femme
m’écrit. Je l’aime et elle m’aime. Elle dira: «Cher Bill, je viens de
coucher les enfants. J’ai travaillé aujourd’hui.» Je comprends ce
qu’elle écrit. Mais, voyez, je l’aime tant, que je peux lire entre les
lignes. Je sais de quoi elle parle. Elle n’a pas à me l’expliquer. Je
sais, parce que je peux lire entre les lignes.
98 C’est ainsi avec Dieu, quand on n’essaie pas de
comprendre d’un point de vue journalistique ou théologique. Mais tombez
en amour avec Lui, agenouillez-vous et prenez-Le vraiment dans votre
cœur. «L’amour de Dieu étant déversé dans leur cœur par le
Saint-Esprit.» Ensuite allez lire la Bible et vous Le verrez d’entre
les lignes. Voyez, vous comprenez ce qu’Il dit. Ce n’est pas décrit
tout droit dans la Parole. Jésus a remercié le Père parce qu’Il avait
caché ces choses aux yeux des sages et des intelligents. Maintenant,
personne d’autre ne pourrait lire les lettres de ma femme comme moi,
parce que je l’aime de cette façon, et c’est de cette façon qu’elle
m’écrit. C’est de cette façon que Dieu vous écrit. C’est entre les
lignes que vous Le lisez.
99 La voici ici maintenant, la Sara, parmi les
autres. Pourriez-vous imaginer la petite mémé, vous savez, au milieu de
toutes ces jolies filles de la place, en compagnie de Philistins, à
Guérar. Et là, Abimélec, un beau jeune roi, se veut une bien-aimée;
aussi use-t-il de vigilance. Elles sont jolies, et tout. Mais il voit
venir mémé, vous savez, tremblotante, nerveuse, et il dit: «C’est celle
que j’attendais. C’est elle! Oh!»
100 Et Abraham lui avait dit: «Voudrais-tu me faire
cette grâce, Sara. Tu es belle de visage, tu sais. Quand tu seras là,
dis que je suis ton frère; moi je dirai que tu es ma sœur. Sans quoi
ils me tueront et te prendront.»
101 Elle n’aurait pu avoir deux maris en même temps,
vous savez. Un de ces jours, je vais prêcher là-dessus. Et puis, vous
dites que La semence du serpent a soulevé quelque chose, alors attendez
que ceci sorte.
102 Ensuite nous voyons que lorsqu’il vit venir la
petite mémé, Abimélec tomba en amour avec elle et voulut la prendre
pour épouse.
103 Pensez à cela. Voyez-vous vers quel âge ça les
avait ramenés? C’est sûr, Il le devait.
104 Cette Bible, cette lettre d’amour, est quelque
chose que Dieu nous écrit. Il l’a caché aux yeux des sages et des
intelligents, et Il la révélera aux enfants.
105 Il a caché Sa venue. Il a caché Jésus aux
pharisiens, ces étudiants des Écritures. On n’a personne comme eux de
nos jours. Leur haute scolarité ne leur a pas permis de Le reconnaître.
Il était caché. La Bible dit qu’Il l’était.
106 Et, vous savez, la Bible dit que le clergé de ce
jour-ci ne verrait rien non plus. «Emportés, enflés d’orgueil, aimant
le plaisir plus que Dieu, déloyaux, calomniateurs, intempérants et
ennemis des gens de bien.»
Vous direz: «Ce sont les communistes.» Non, non.
107 «Ayant l’apparence de la piété, mais reniant ce
qui en fait la force. Éloigne-toi de ces hommes-là.» Voyez? C’est
exact. «Car d’entre eux sont ceux qui s’introduisent dans les maisons,
et qui captivent des femmes d’un esprit faible et borné, chargées de
péchés, agitées par des passions de toute espèce», et ainsi de suite.
Remarquez.
108 Maintenant, nous retrouvons ici Abraham. Et
Abimélec s’est présenté, et a dit: «C’est la femme que j’attendais
depuis toujours.» Il fit appel aux filles qui allèrent la chercher, et,
oh, peut-être lui faire une toilette, pour qu’elle ressemble à une
reine de quelque sorte.
109 Je veux que vous remarquiez ici la grâce de Dieu
envers Son prophète. Ceci pourrait peut-être vous faire ravaler un peu,
mais c’est la vérité. Peu importe à quoi ça ressemble, comparez avec ce
que dit la Bible.
110 Là je peux voir Abimélec, il pense: «Demain, je
marierai cette jolie fille hébraïque. Elle est là dans les chambres, et
mes servantes sont en train de la parfumer, de la coiffer, de lui faire
une toilette.» Maintenant, pourriez-vous vous imaginer un vieille femme
de quatre-vingt-dix ans se faire faire une toilette dans le but de
marier un jeune roi? Aussi découvrons-nous qu’il fit préparer cette
belle fille hébraïque. Il prit son bain, s’étendit, se dénoua les
jambes, après avoir fait ses prières; il s’étendit et pensa: «Oh là là!»
111 Maintenant, pouvez-vous imaginer Abraham lui
jouer un tour comme celui-là, un homme qui aurait dit une pareille
chose de sa femme? Parlez-moi d’un froussard! Abraham a fait ça. Et là,
il est dehors, après avoir dit une pareille chose.
112 Et, cette nuit-là, Dieu est apparu à Abimélec en
songe, et lui a dit: «Tu es un homme mort. Elle est une femme mariée.»
113 Il a dit: «Seigneur, tu connais l’intégrité de
mon cœur. Elle a dit qu’il était son frère, et lui-même m’a dit qu’elle
était sa sœur.»
114 Il a dit: «Je connais l’intégrité de ton cœur,
c’est pourquoi Je t’ai gardé de pécher contre Moi. (Voyez?) Mais son
mari est Mon prophète.» Regardez la grâce pour Son prophète, même s’il
était dans l’erreur. Voyez? Il a dit: «Il est Mon prophète. Je
n’entendrai pas tes prières. Rends-lui sa femme, et qu’il prie pour
toi. Si tu ne le fais pas, ta nation entière périra.» (Chaque femme
était devenue stérile.) Pensez à cela. C’est exactement ce qu’Il a dit.
Et Abimélec était un homme de bien et craignait Dieu. Oui monsieur.
115 Mais vous voyez ce que la grâce de Dieu fait? Là
se tenait Son prophète, qui avait donné sa femme en mariage à un autre,
attendant même la promesse de l’enfant et ces choses-là, et la grâce de
Dieu est demeurée avec cette Parole sans regarder au reste. C’est exact.
116 «Son mari est Mon prophète. Et Je n’entendrai
pas ta prière. Même dans ta justice, et ta bonté, et ton intelligence,
si lui ne prie pas pour toi, tu es mort.» Il prit donc Sara et la
rendit. Oh là là!
117 Puis Isaac naquit. Maintenant, pour terminer,
rapidement je veux vous apporter quelque chose. Isaac naquit et la
promesse fut accomplie.
118 Après la naissance d’Isaac, le jeune garçon
avait environ douze ans quand Dieu fit passer une double épreuve à
Abraham. Après l’avoir déjà éprouvé durant vingt-cinq ans, Il lui fit
ensuite passer une double épreuve. Maintenant Il dit: «Abraham, Je veux
que maintenant tu prennes ce fils, ton fils unique, et que tu l’emmènes
sur une montagne que Je te montrerai dans une vision, et que tu l’y
emmènes et l’offres en holocauste.»
119 Et il est dit qu’il ne refusa pas de le faire.
Il se leva le lendemain matin, suivant la direction du Seigneur, sella
ses ânes, prit du bois, le fendit, et partit avec les ânes. Il voyagea
durant trois jours, et puis il vit le lieu de loin, levant les yeux,
après avoir voyagé trois jours. Abraham se trouvait à trois jours de
chez lui. Les hommes alors ne voyageaient pas dans des véhicules
motorisés, comme aujourd’hui, et un homme normal peut marcher quarante
kilomètres par jour. Voyez? Où s’est-il rendu? — Dans le désert.
120 Et il a dit: «Vous, attendez ici.» J’aime ceci
en Abraham. Il a dit aux serviteurs: «Vous garderez les ânes ici, et
moi et mon fils nous irons jusque-là pour adorer, puis nous reviendrons
auprès de vous.»
121 Comment va-t-il faire cela, puisqu’il montait
jusque-là pour le tuer? Dieu lui a dit: «Monte jusque-là et prends sa
vie.»
122 Mais qu’a dit la Bible, en Romains 4? «Abraham
savait qu’il l’avait reçu comme provenant des morts, et était
pleinement persuadé que Dieu était capable de le ressusciter d’entre
les morts, d’où il l’avait reçu en tant que figure.» Voyez?
Il leur a dit: «Vous, vous attendrez ici.»
123 Comment cela va se faire, je ne peux vous le
dire. Pouvez-vous réfléchir à cela, sœur, vous qui avez un enfant dans
les bras, et cette maman assise dans une chaise roulante, là un petit
garçon, et ici un papa? Je ne sais pas comment Il va le faire. Je ne
sais tout simplement pas comment Il va le faire. Mais Il va le faire
parce qu’Il a promis de le faire, sur la base de votre foi. Il le fait
aux autres. Voyez?
124 «Le jeune et moi, nous reviendrons. (Voyez?)
Attendez ici, tandis que nous irons adorer.»
125 Et il chargea le bois sur son petit Isaac, un
type de Christ portant Sa croix, et marchèrent jusqu’au sommet de la
montagne. Puis le petit Isaac s’interrogea, et il demanda: «Mon père!»
Il répondit: «Me voici, mon fils!
126 Il reprit: «Eh bien, voici l’autel, voici le
feu, voici le bois, mais où est l’ageau pour l’holocauste?»
127 Écoutez maintenant ce que répond Abraham: «Mon
fils, Dieu se pourvoira Lui-même de l’agneau pour l’holocauste.» Ce qui
signifie, «le sacrifice pourvu par Dieu», Jéhovah-Jiré. L’agneau pourvu
de l’Éternel.
128 Et quand il lui lia les mains et le mit sur
l’autel, imaginez quel temps il a pu passer. Après l’avoir attendu
pendant vingt-cinq ans, Dieu lui demandait de détruire la seule
évidence dont il avait témoigné durant toutes ces années. Il était la
honte parmi les gens, on se moquait de lui. Et ici Dieu lui dit:
«Détruis la chose même qui te donne la seule espérance que tu peux
avoir, de voir Ma Parole être accomplie en toi. Je te donne le garçon.
Il a douze ans. Tous l’ont reconnu, je vais quand même faire de toi un
père des nations, mais va tuer ton fils.» Pourriez-vous vous imaginer
cela?
129 Dieu nous montrant simplement que quoi que les
autres disent, ou si c’est contraire à cette Parole, refusez d’y
regarder. Une réelle Semence d’Abraham croit cela.
«Tue ce fils.»
130 Et Abraham le mit sur l’autel. Vous
imaginez-vous, relevant ses petits cheveux ondulés de son visage, et
ses petits yeux bruns qui le regardaient comme cela, et ses petites
lèvres qui tremblaient. Et ce long couteau que son père sortait
maintenant de… Parlez-moi d’un père! Il releva son menton pour pouvoir

mépris de l’apparence, il dit: «Je l’ai reçu comme provenant des morts.
Dieu est capable de le ressusciter.» Il leva son couteau et commença…
131 Et le Saint-Esprit saisit sa main, et dit:
«Abraham, Abraham!»
Il dit: «Me voici.»
132 Il reprit: «N’avance pas ta main. Je sais que tu
M’aimes et que tu Me fais confiance, et que tu ne M’aurais pas refusé
ton fils, ton unique.»
133 Et à ce moment, il y eut là un bélier, qui était
retenu par les cornes, dans le désert, derrière lui.
134 Je voudrais vous poser une question, frère,
sœur. D’où venait ce bélier? Regardez ça, vous êtes à trois jours de
toute civilisation, dans le désert, où rôdent les fauves, les chacals,
les chiens et les bêtes sauvages de toutes espèces, qui auraient eu
vite fait de le dévorer. Et, de plus, il est au sommet de la montagne
où il n’y a pas d’eau. Il avait ramassé tout autour de là des pierres
pour bâtir l’autel, et le bélier n’y était pas. Mais quand Dieu en eut
besoin, il se trouva là. Et ce n’était pas une vision. Il le tua de son
couteau et le sang coula de l’animal. Il expira. Dieu venait tout juste
de l’appeler à l’existence, et Abraham lui reprit la vie la minute qui
a suivi. Vous voyez? Jéhovah-Jiré, «l’Éternel se pourvoira Lui-même
d’un agneau».
135 L’impossibilité du bélier de s’y être trouvé. Si
quelqu’un est au courant de la vie des moutons dans une jungle, dans un
désert comme celui-là, où se trouvent toutes les bêtes sauvages, ils
auraient eu vite fait de le dévorer. Il n’aurait pas pu survivre en cet
endroit. Et ici, au sommet de la montagne où on ne trouve pas d’eau,
pas d’herbe ou rien d’autre, et quelques minutes auparavant il ne se
trouvait pas là, et à l’instant où Dieu eut besoin de ce bélier, il se
trouva là. Il l’appela à l’existence.
136 Tout comme Il lui était apparu là-bas. Élohim
eut besoin d’un corps, Il eut besoin d’un corps dans lequel habiter, et
Il lui fallut seulement de rassembler la lumière cosmique et le
pétrole, et ainsi de suite, et d’entrer dans ce corps. Vous voyez? Il
est Dieu.
137 C’est ce qu’Il fera avec vous, quand vous ne
serez pas plus qu’une cuillerée de cendres dans la poussière. Il
parlera encore, et vous serez là. Il appellera votre nom, et vous
répondrez. La Semence d’Abraham, … cette promesse accomplie.
138 Remarquez, c’était un bélier. Si vous m’accordez
un moment de plus, j’aimerais expliquer ceci. Vous savez, l’autre soir

Vous souvenez-vous quand Il a confirmé ce sacrifice, confirmé cette
alliance avec lui, en prenant une brebis, une génisse (un veau
femelle), et en les divisant, puis en prenant un bélier… Maintenant,
rappelez-vous, lorsque la Semence royale de Sa foi… vous vous souvenez,
ce n’était pas une femelle, c’était un mâle. C’est par le mâle que la
promesse est accomplie. Remarquez, un bélier, un mâle. Un mâle, afin de
satisfaire à la Parole. Il est la Parole, ce Bélier, non pas une
femelle. Les femelles ont premièrement été offertes, vous vous
rappelez, en Genèse 15; elles ont été les premières à être déposées; il
a ensuite pris un bélier. Le bélier est venu en dernier. Le Mâle, le
Bélier, la Parole pourvue. Non pas la brebis, l’organisation, l’église,
vous voyez; non pas la femelle, l’église, mais le Mâle, le Bélier.
Amen. C’est pourquoi Il est né en avril.
139 Non pas en décembre, comme l’église romaine le
prétend, la fête du dieu-soleil, un 25 décembre, au temps du solstice,
et l’associant à la Sienne, si vous avez étudié l’histoire de l’église.
Et vous comprendrez qu’ils ont mis ça là… C’était la fête du
dieu-soleil, l’astre solaire, quand il ne bouge presque plus. Durant
cinq jours rien ne change, du 20 au 25 décembre. Ils ont fait de la
naissance du Fils de Dieu et de la fête du dieu-soleil une même fête,
compromettant le christianisme avec le paganisme. Il n’aurait pu naître
un 25 décembre, quand les montagnes de Judée sont recouvertes de neige.
140 Il est né comme tous les agneaux naissent. Il
est né au printemps. Et il devait naître sous le signe du Bélier, parce
qu’Il était un Bélier, et le signe du Bélier est en avril. Exactement.
Il naquit sous ce signe du Bélier. C’est ce qu’Il était. Il était le
Bélier de Dieu. C’est Lui sur la montagne qui prit la place d’Isaac.

141 Voici, démontré ici clairement, l’Épouse-Semence
royale ne sera pas appelée par la femelle église, par le sacrifice de
la dénomination brebis. Non, mais par Lui, la Parole manifestée du
Bélier, car Il est la Parole et le Bélier. Non pas appelée par son nom
à elle, mais appelée par Son nom à Lui, a-t-Il dit. Il se «choisirait
un peuple des nations», pas pour son nom à elle, mais «pour Son Nom à
Lui»; elle porterait Son Nom. Oh là là! De quoi avez-vous peur, alors?
Un peuple des nations porterait Son Nom, le Bélier; non pas son nom,
l’église, non pas elle, mais Lui. Alléluia!
142 La Semence royale verrait cela. Ne pouvez-vous
pas voir Malachie 4 en train de se réaliser? «Afin de ramener la foi
originale, la Parole de Dieu!» Je suis sûr que vous pouvez le voir.
Nous n’aurons pas à le rendre plus clair. Laissons partir cette
dénomination. Revenons à cette Parole. Et la voix du dernier jour, et
le signe du dernier jour, est pour ramener les gens à la foi originale,
comme Malachie 4 nous le dit, les ramener à la Parole.
143 Et Il était la Parole, non pas elle, Lui, amen,
le Nom du Seigneur Jésus, la Parole confirmée maintenant par la
promesse, la Parole qui est promise.
144 Saint Jean 14.12: «Les œuvres que Je fais, vous
les ferez aussi.» Malachie 4 dit la même chose. Aussi, Luc 17 nous dit
que dans les derniers jours, l’état du monde se présentera exactement
dans l’ordre, «comme il en était du temps de Sodome», et Dieu
descendrait, manifesté dans une chair humaine, et connaîtrait les
secrets des cœurs …?… Jésus a mentionné cette chose, qu’elle aurait
lieu «dans les jours où le Fils de l’homme serait révélé», à la fin du
monde.
Vous voyez, ce n’est pas l’église: «Joignez ceci,
joignez cela.»
145 C’est, venez à Lui! C’est ce que la semence
d’Abraham a obtenu là, le sacrifice offert. Plutôt que de sa semence
littérale, parlons de sa Semence spirituelle, amen, de Sa Semence
royale, la Semence-Reine? Amen. Oh, si vous pouviez seulement voir ça!
Rappelez-vous, qu’est-ce que c’est? — C’est la chair et l’Esprit
s’unifiant, devenant un.
146 Allez voir en Matthieu, chapitre 3. Ici était la
chair, le Fils de Dieu né d’une vierge, sortant de la ville pour aller
vers Jean le baptiseur.
147 Il le trouva là, debout dans l’eau. La Bible
dit: «La Parole du Seigneur vient toujours au prophète.» N’est-ce pas
vrai? Et Jean était un prophète. Ils n’avaient pas eu de prophète
depuis des centaines d’années.
148 Mais voici qu’il était là, un prophète, et il
prophétisait que Jésus allait venir. Il était allé dans le désert, et
disait avoir vu un signe. Dieu lui a dit que ce signe allait suivre ce
Messie, quand Il viendrait.» Il a dit: «Il se tient quelque part au
milieu de vous maintenant. Il en est un parmi vous, duquel je ne suis
pas digne de délier les souliers. Il sera manifesté l’un de ces jours.
Et quand cela se fera, alors il faudra que je diminue et qu’Il croisse.»
149 Il arriva qu’en levant les yeux il vit ce signe.
Il dit: «Le voici qui vient. Voici l’Agneau de Dieu qui prend le péché
du monde.»
150 Le vieux prédicateur baptiste, docteur Davis,
qui m’a baptisé dans la fraternité de l’église baptiste, a discuté de
cela avec moi une fois. Il a dit: «Tu sais ce qui est arrivé là, Billy?»
Et j’ai répondu: «Non, je ne sais pas, docteur.»

Jésus n’a jamais baptisé Jean. Eh bien, quoi?
153 Il a dit: «C’est moi qui ai besoin d’être
baptisé par Toi. Pourquoi viens-Tu à moi?»
Jésus a dit: «Laisse faire maintenant.»
154 Surveillez leurs regards, de ces deux grands
hommes sur la terre; là se trouvait Dieu, ici se trouvait Son prophète,
et la Parole est venu au prophète. Si la Parole est dans une chair,
elle ira au prophète. Peu importe l’endroit, elle ira au prophète. Elle
se doit de le faire. C’est ce que dit la Bible. Il était la Parole. «Au
commencement était la Parole. Et la Parole a été faite chair et elle a
habité parmi nous.» Et ici est venue la Parole au prophète, au milieu
du fleuve, pour accomplir et confirmer sa prophétie. Amen. Voici qu’Il
était là, et leurs regards se sont rencontré. L’un le prophète, l’autre
la Parole.
155 Et lui, Jean, s’est humilié devant Lui. Il a
dit: «C’est moi qui ai besoin d’être baptisé par Toi, et Tu viens à
moi?»
156 Il a dit: «Laisse faire maintenant, car il est
convenable que nous accomplissions tout ce qui est juste.»
157 Jean, étant prophète et connaissant cette Parole
(car la Parole est venue à lui), savait que c’était le Sacrifice. Et
selon la loi, le sacrifice devait être lavé avant d’être présenté.
C’est exact. Il baptisa Jésus parce qu’Il était le Sacrifice attendu.
Avant de passer à Sa vie publique, Il devait être baptisé, parce que le
Sacrifice doit être lavé avant d’être présenté. Amen. Il Le baptisa.
158 Et dès qu’il L’eût baptisé, Il sortit de l’eau.
Il regarda et vit l’Esprit de Dieu, comme une colombe, et une voix en
fit entendre ces paroles: «Celui-ci est Mon Fils bien-aimé, en qui J’ai
mis toute Mon affection.» Dieu et l’homme devenus un.
159 Adam et Ève étaient un, au commencement. Et
quand ils les ont séparés, elle tomba, en rapport à la Parole. Elle
manqua à la Parole. Elle tomba.
160 Chaque âge de l’église est tombé de la même
manière, pour avoir mal interprété la Parole. Laissant l’interprète, ce
Satan qui l’avait interprétée à Ève, «Oh, cela ne pourrait certainement
pas être vrai. Ceci, certainement, celles-ci, certainement, ne peuvent

161 Mais si Dieu l’a dit, ça ne peut être que vrai.
Il n’y a pas de «certainement» à cela. Vous devez naître de nouveau.
Vous devez recevoir le Saint-Esprit. C’est cela ou vous périrez!
162 Et ici Il est descendu, Jésus et Dieu sont
devenus un. Ils se sont unis.
163 Comme en Éden, où Adam et Ève étaient au
commencement le même esprit. Leurs noms étaient Adam. Voyez? Il était à
la fois Adam et Ève, ensemble. Et une fois séparés, pour être éprouvés,
qu’est-il arrivé? Ève tomba, quant à la Parole. C’était la Parole. Adam
l’a suivie, afin de la racheter, mais il ne le pouvait pas. Il n’en
était pas digne.
164 Ensuite est venu le second Adam, pour racheter
l’Église, qui représentait l’ombre et le type.
165 Maintenant, aussi certain qu’Adam et Ève
devaient être le même esprit, Christ et l’Église doivent être le même
Esprit, le même ministère. «Les choses que Je fais, vous les ferez
aussi.» Vous voyez ce que je veux dire? Ils doivent s’unir ensemble. La
chair et le sang et Dieu devaient s’unir ensemble et être un seul
Esprit. Et Jésus-Christ et Son Église sont un seul Esprit. Comment
l’église peut-elle nier la création, comment l’église peut-elle nier
cette chose que Christ leur a demandé de faire, comment pouvons-nous
renier cela et aller ensuite dire que nous sommes de Christ? «Si vous
demeurez en Moi, et Mes Paroles en vous, demandez ce que vous voudrez
et cette chose vous sera accordée. Je suis le Cep, vous êtes les
sarments, et la Vie qui est dans la vigne va dans le sarment pour
porter le fruit.» Des porteurs de fruits!
166 «Et toute branche qui ne porte pas de bon fruit
est retranchée.» C’est ce qu’ont fait les organisations, elles l’ont
brisée, ont mélangé la Parole, et sont parties comme ça. L’une commence
de cette façon-ci, et l’autre de cette façon-là, et la première chose
que l’on sait, c’est qu’un tout petit groupe de Rickies y entrent et y
émettent leur idée, et, la première chose que vous savez, ça devient
une tour de Babel. Il les émonde tout simplement. Jamais une
organisation ne s’est relevée, elle s’est toujours écroulée. Chacune
d’entre elles est tombée, pour ne plus réapparaître. […]
167 …. Remarquez bien en ceci maintenant, ils
doivent devenir un. Jésus a dit: «La Vie qui est en Lui sera dans Son
Église.» Et ici se trouve exactement ce qu’Il a promis dans les
derniers jours, que la Vie qui était en Christ sera manifestée dans les
jours où le monde se trouvera dans une condition sodomite, comme ça
l’est aujourd’hui. Ne peux-tu pas voir, frère, sœur?
168 Quel bien cela apporte-t-il de se joindre à
l’église si Christ n’est pas dans votre vie, si Christ ne s’identifie
pas Lui-même dans votre vie? Vous voyez, c’est ça. «Ces signes
accompagneront ceux qui croient.» C’est ce qu’Il a dit. Comment
pouvez-vous le prétendre, s’ils n’y sont pas, comment pouvez-vous
déclarer être de Christ?
169 Vous dites: «Frère Branham, comment pensez-vous
être capable de faire accepter cela aux gens, en ce jour intellectuel,
quand tout est une dénomination?»
170 Je demandais à une femme il y a quelque temps:
«Êtes-vous chrétienne?» Nous étions dans un hôpital. Elle m’a répondu:
«Sachez bien que tous les soirs je fais brûler un cierge.» Comme si
cela avait rapport au christianisme.
171 Je suis allé prier pour une autre femme, et une
autre dame était couchée là, malade, elle et son fils. Je suis entré
dans la chambre. J’ai dit: «Madame, je connais votre nom. Vous êtes Mme
Oliver.»
172 Elle a dit: «Oui, frère Branham.» Elle a dit:
«Je suis très malade, frère Branham. Le docteur ignore tout de mon cas.
Prieriez-vous? C’est pour ça que je vous ai appelé.»
173 J’ai dit: «Certainement, sœur Oliver.» J’ai dit:
«Si vous voulez pencher la tête?»
Elle a dit: «Un instant, tirez ce rideau.»
174 Et j’ai repris: «Eh bien, très bien, je ne vais
que prier. Êtes-vous chrétienne?»
Elle m’a répondu: «Nous sommes méthodistes.»
175 «Eh bien, ce n’est pas ce que je vous ai
demandé. Je vous ai demandé si vous étiez chrétienne.»
Elle a dit: «Tirez ce rideau.»
176 Voyez, c’est à ce point étroit. Comment une
personne pourrait-elle jamais trouver le chemin? Ce sont l’obscurité et
la noirceur, les différences confessionnelles qui les retranchent des
bénédictions de Dieu. Cela existe dans toutes les dénominations. C’est
exact. Frère, n’allez pas chez la femelle, prenez le Mâle. Ne prenez
pas son nom à elle, prenez le Sien, voyez, prenez Son Nom.
177 Vous dites: «Frère Branham, comment allez-vous
faire comprendre cela aujourd’hui? Comment allez-vous réussir cela?»
178 Il a fait la promesse qu’Il le ferait. Il a dit:
«Ne crains point, petit troupeau, car c’est la volonté de votre Père de
vous donner le Royaume.»
«Comment va-t-Il le faire?»
179 Il est toujours ce Jéhovah-Jiré. Il est toujours
ce Jéhovah-Jiré. Dieu se pourvoira pour Lui-même une Église. «Il est
capable de ces pierres de susciter des enfants à Abraham.» Il est
certainement Jéhovah-Jiré.
Vous dites: «Est-ce que ça va marcher?» C’est
certain, Dieu l’a dit.
«Pensez-vous jamais pouvoir y arriver?»
180 Moi je ne le peux pas, mais Lui le peut. Ma
responsabilité n’est pas de le faire arriver. Ma responsabilité est de
le prêcher. C’est à Lui de le confirmer. C’est Lui. Si je prends
position pour la vérité, Il y sera. Il l’a prouvé, et Il le prouvera
encore.
Vous dites: «C’est terriblement sombre.»
181 Oui, je le sais. Et tous les ecclésiastiques
s’en vont dans cette imposante organisation, pour être égorger.
Alors, quelle sera votre position là-dedans?
182 Ça me rappelle une petite histoire. Je vais vous
la raconter avant de terminer. À Carlsbad, au Nouveau Mexique, ils ont
là des cavernes. Ils descendent jusqu’à un kilomètre et demi dans la
terre. J’ai jamais aimé ça. Ils me font toujours penser à des taupes.
On descend là-dedans et ça devient aussi sombre que la nuit dans le
fond. Et il y avait là une fillette, oh, probablement comme la petite
là-bas, et son petit frère de cet autre côté, accompagnés d’un guide
qui les y emmenait. Ils étaient donc là dans ce lieu sombre, et il y
avait de la lumière, toutes les lumières étaient allumées.
183 Le guide s’est glissé près de l’interrupteur… le
petit garçon l’accompagnait, suivait le guide. Donc le guide a saisi
l’interrupteur et a fermé les lumières. Oh là! parlez-moi d’une
obscurité! À plus d’un kilomètre dans la terre, vous savez, c’est si
sombre que vous ne pourriez pas même y voir votre main.
184 Et cette petite fille criait avec tout ce qu’il
y avait en elle. Elle s’est mise à sauter et à crier, crier aussi fort
que…
185 Et par-dessus tous ces cris, son petit frère lui
a dit: «Ohé, petite sœur! Ohé, petite sœur!»
Elle a répondu: «Qu’est-ce que tu veux, petit frère.»
186 Il a répondu: «N’aie pas peur. Il y a un homme
ici qui peut allumer les lumières.»
187 Il y a un Homme ici qui peut allumer les
lumières. Il est Jéhovah-Jiré. Voyez? Il y a un Homme ici, qui est au
milieu de nous, ce soir, le Saint-Esprit. Il peut allumer les lumières.
Il est la Parole, un Homme ici qui peut allumer les lumières. Je ne
sais pas comment Il va le faire. Ça ne me regarde pas, mais Lui sait
comment les allumer. Il en a fait la promesse. Il l’a faite quand
Abraham tenait son couteau au-dessus de la gorge de son fils. Il a
allumé la lumière. Oui. Il peut encore allumer la lumière ce soir.
188 Courbons nos têtes un instant. Que Dieu vous
vienne en aide, qu’Il lèvera le petit interrupteur dans votre cœur.
189 Mes amis, cette semaine vous avez vu le grand
Saint-Esprit parmi nous. Il n’y a aucun doute là-dessus. Mais, oh,
allumons cette petite Lumière, ce soir. Ne manquez pas ça, frère, sœur.
Je pense que ce simple petit chapitre sur Abraham a prouvé, en le
reliant de la Genèse à l’Apocalypse, a prouvé l’heure en laquelle nous
vivons. Christ est rejeté dans notre nation de nouveau; des
tremblements de terre un peu partout; Sodome et Gomorrhe; l’église dans
sa condition, formant exactement l’image de la bête. Toutes ces choses
se passent, comme la Bible le dit, et vous, vous le savez. Voyez?
Maintenant, sans cette grande expérience avec Christ, si la Vie de
Christ vient en vous…
190 Là, regardez-vous vous-même dans le miroir de
Dieu, et voyez si vous pouvez vous identifier, ce soir. Si vous aviez
vécu du temps de Noé, du temps du déluge, de quel côté auriez-vous été?
Si vous aviez vécu du temps de Moïse, de quel côté auriez-vous été? Si
vous aviez vécu du temps du Christ, quand toutes les églises étaient
contre Lui? Il a dû se tenir seul, dans les choses qu’Il a faites. La
seule chose, Dieu était avec Lui, c’est la chose essentielle. Même Ses
disciples, pour la plupart, se sont retirés de Lui. Mais de quel côté,
dans votre état actuel, où seriez-vous, de quel côté seriez-vous? De
quel côté êtes-vous à l’heure qu’il est, quand vous Le voyez de nouveau
au milieu de nous?
191 Il est maintenant ici, et Il peut allumer la
Lumière dans votre cœur, et remplir votre vie du Saint-Esprit. Combien
ici, en ce moment, avec vos têtes inclinées, et vos cœurs aussi,
prieraient avec moi un instant?
192 Maintenant, Père Céleste, nous savons que Tu ne
viens jamais pour montrer que Tu peux le faire. Tu le fais dans un but.
Et, Seigneur, cette semaine, j’ai senti la nécessité d’attendre jusqu’à
maintenant, jusqu’à cette heure, pour qu’ils voient d’abord la Parole
se confirmer. Il n’y a aucune raison d’en douter en ce moment. Et cet
unique personnage, Abraham, quand tous les personnages de la Bible y
sont rattachés, et nous voyons maintenant où nous nous trouvons dans
l’histoire.
193 Père, avec mes mots entrecoupés, mais c’est le
mieux que je peux faire, je prie maintenant que le grand Saint-Esprit
qui est ici, qui connaît le secret de chaque cœur, parlera maintenant à
ce cœur. Accorde-le, Seigneur. Parle à ceux qui n’iraient pas, si Tu
venais ce soir, si la porte se fermait ce soir, s’ils mouraient en
revenant à la maison, ou s’ils étaient happés par une voiture et tués,
ou trouvés morts dans leur lit au petit matin, ils ne seraient pas
sauvés. Ô mon Dieu, ne permets à personne de partir de cette manière.
194 S’ils ont seulement joint une église, Seigneur,
puissent-ils ne pas être honteux de sortir du rang et de demander à
Dieu de les remplir de Son Esprit, pour que Sa Vie vienne en eux. S’ils
n’ont pas été capables de comprendre ces choses, même les disciples
n’ont pas compris, mais ils s’y sont accrochés jusqu’à ce que le
Saint-Esprit se déverse; après cela ils ont compris ces choses et ont
écrit la Bible. Je prie, Père, que Tu parleras à chaque cœur et que Tu
leur feras connaître que cet Homme qui peut allumer la Lumière se tient
tout juste à la porte de leur cœur.
195 Avec nos têtes inclinées maintenant, combien ici
seraient des plus honnêtes, et diraient: «Frère Branham, je sais que je
ne suis pas en ordre avec Dieu»? Je veux que vous leviez votre main.
Gardez vos têtes baissées, chacun de vous, mais levez votre main. «Je
ne suis pas en ordre avec Dieu.» Que Dieu vous bénisse. Que Dieu vous
bénisse. Oui. «Je sais ne pas être en ordre avec Dieu.»
196 Voyez, ce que j’essaie de faire, c’est de
trouver grâce aux yeux de Dieu, en vue de ce grand service de guérison
de demain. Si seulement je peux obtenir Sa faveur, je crois que Dieu
guérira toute maladie, si seulement j’emmène les gens à croire.
197 Sans le baptême du Saint-Esprit, et vous savez
qu’il s’agit là de l’Huile, si vous n’avez pas l’Huile dans votre
lampe, vous n’irez pas.
198 Et avez-vous déjà entendu parler d’un
temps pareil, rapporté dans les journaux, où les presbytériens, les

199 La Bible dit, quand elles sont venues:
«Donnez-nous de votre huile.» Les vierges folles ont réalisé qu’elles
avaient eu tout ce temps pour se procurer de l’huile, mais qu’elles ne
l’avaient pas fait. Aussi, quand l’Époux fut sur le point de revenir,
elles ont dit: «Donnez-nous de votre huile.» Les autres ont répondu:
«Nous en avons juste assez pour nous. Allez en acheter de ceux qui en
vendent.» Et pendant qu’elles étaient sorties, l’Époux est venu, et
l’Épouse est partie avec Lui. «Et elles ont été jetées dans les
ténèbres du dehors» pour se réveiller et réaliser que l’Enlèvement
avait eu lieu. «Et elles ont été laissées où il y aura des pleurs et
des gémissements», la période de tribulations, «et des grincements de
dents.»

pas le Saint-Esprit, ou si vous n’êtes pas suffisamment convaincu qu’il

225 Et, Père, j’offre pour eux ici des
supplications. Pas seulement pour leur salut, pour être sauvés, mais
pour qu’ils soient remplis du Saint-Esprit. Accorde-le, Seigneur. Que
chacun de ceux qui sont ici soient remplis de l’Esprit, et que d’ici
sorte un réveil à travers le pays, qui en secouera cette communauté et
tout le pays. Accorde-le, Seigneur.
Et que toute église, et les méthodistes, les
baptistes, les presbytériens, l’église de Christ, les luthériens, quoi
qu’ils puissent être, ait son réveil, Seigneur, de ces personnes
revenant avec le réel Saint-Esprit qui manifeste Dieu dans leurs vies.

E-2 We're left Abraham last night in... We started with him and over in the 22nd chapter of Genesis where he was offering up his only son, a type of God giving his Son. We started back then, dropped back to pick him up again, his life, and we've never got away from it yet. We left him last night over about the 16th or 17th chapter. I believe the 15th chapter is where we left him at. We're going to try to finish it up tonight, 'cause I got a message just for Divine healing, the Lord willing, for tomorrow afternoon. And now, every pastor's invited. Bring your congregation, come here and stand with them for prayer.
E-3 Now, we
realize that sometimes that Jesus did things... And He does things
sometimes... You say, "Why would He permit these things then, Brother
Branham? Why would He permit these things to be?" Sometimes it's done
to try your faith, many times. We, and... He does things strange. Why
don't He just walk out and say, "I am this, and I am that?" He didn't
do that in the first place. See? He does it to try your faith.
Look, the priests thought that probably He'd come down and speak to
Caiaphas, the high priest. But how was He born? In a manger, and was
absolutely rejected by His own people and his denominations of them
days.
E-4 Now, we
find one time Jesus speaking, just like... Watch one little quotation
here I'd like to make. Jesus has a great crowd around Him, and it
looked like there was too many. So watch what He said. "Except you eat
the flesh of the Son of man and drink His Blood, you have no life."
Now, what do you think that a medical doctor, or any intellectual
person, would think when they heard of a man that had a name of being
an illegitimate child, and more like a renegade to the people of that
day, stand up and make a quotation like that? "Except you eat My flesh
and drink My Blood..." Why, they'd say, "That man's a human vampire.
Why, my, drink a man's blood and eat his flesh? You congregation, get
away from such a crazy man." He never explained it. He never explained
it. He didn't have to explain it. That's right. He just wanted to see
what kind of faith they had. See?
E-5 You, if
you believe, you'd believe, I don't care what anybody said. If I prayed
for five thousand people tonight and all five thousand died tonight, in
the morning I'd still be praying for the sick. See? It's what God says
is what counts. It ain't what people does. See? And God, He--He said,
"Except you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink His Blood, you
have no life in you."
My, that people--that intellectual group, why--why, they said, "Get
away from that man. He's mad. He's a wild man. Why, he's a human
vampire eat that man's body." Now, He never explained it.
E-6 Now, He
had seventy ordained preachers with Him. He thought He had a little too
much crowd there, so the--the crowd walked away from him. So He had the
ordained ministers setting there; He'd sent them out, seventy of them.
He said, "What will you say when you see the Son of man ascending up
into heaven, from whence He came?" Now, He never explained it.
Them preachers said, "This man ascending up into heaven from whence He
came? Why, we know him. We know his mother. We've been to the stable
where he was born, We've seen the cradle he was rocked in. We've fished
with him. We're laying out here on the banks with him. And this 'Son of
man ascend up from whence he come'? He come from Bethlehem. Where's
this coming up? That's too much for us." And they walked away from Him.
He never explained it. He never... He didn't have to explain anything.
God don't have to explain nothing. He's God. He just does it, 'cause He
promised it. He don't explain it.
Then His... Only twelve was left. He turned around and looked at them,
said, "I chose twelve of you, and one of you's a devil." He said, "Do
you want to go too?"
Then Peter said those great words, "To whom would we go, Lord, for we
are sure that Thou has the Word of Life." They had seen it so clearly
a-vindicated. No matter what the priest said, what anybody else said,
they knew right there that that--He had the Word of Life. Said, "You
have the Word of Life."
E-7 And now, we notice no matter what the others done, how they walked away, those disciples were predestinated. They were ordained to Eternal Life. No... They couldn't explain it. They couldn't explain it no more than the rest of them could, but there was something in them. That--that representation in heaven, a thought that God had of them before the foundation of the world had manifested itself here. And they were connected with God, and were sure that was God's promise vindicated. And nothing's going to change it from them. That's real, genuine Christianity.
E-8 Today
people are something on the order like they was in the days when the
disciples was out on the ocean. And one night a storm came up. And
there wasn't nothing... All hopes was gone that they'd ever be saved.
And they seen Him come walking on the--the--the water. Now, their ship
was waterlogged, and the sails was broke, and the oars was gone. And
they were holding one another, screaming. And they looked out there and
seen Him come walking on the water, and was scared of Him: their only
hope. And they were afraid of the only thing that could save them. If
that ain't a true picture today again. They--they thought it looked
spooky. You know, He said... They cried out for fear it was a spirit.
It looked too--like spiritual.
That's the same thing it is today. But if you'll just do like they
did... When they cried out, they heard that voice coming, "Fear not, it
is I. Be not afraid. Be of a good courage." And if you'll just watch
the Word of promise for this day, you'll hear that same voice speaking
through the Word. "It's Me. I promised to do this in the last days.
Fear not. Don't be scared. Put your trust in Me, the Son of God (Who He
is). Believe it now."
E-9 We left Abraham in the Presence of Elohim last night, where we brought him down through the promises. And now, the last promise before the coming of the son, we find out that a Man came up, dressed like a man, eat like a man, talked like a man; and Abraham looked upon Him and addressed Him as Elohim: Elohim. Two had went down to Sodom to preach down there, and we likened that setting to today. You all remember the story, where we left it. Just perfectly the same thing, as Jesus predicted it would be as it was in the days of Sodom, the same thing sets in the same position tonight. And if...
E-10 Today I
was setting there, and I was wondering, and I wondered all about this.
They heard another earthquake taking place down there, and they said...
Shaking the countries again... And I thought, "What is this? You know,
it was done on Good Friday. You know, nineteen hundred years ago on
Good Friday, the church rejected Jesus Christ, and a earthquake shook
the world all over. And they've rejected Him again in the Laodicean age
as the Bible said they would do: had Him on the outside.
This ecumenical move of the Council of Churches is exactly what they're
doing. They're forfeiting all their evangelical teachings and things.
How can two walk together unless they be agreed? Well, you can't do it.
That won't work with real genuine Christians. They'll never receive it.
No, sir. A borned again Christian will never go in a trap like that.
It's just like putting a duck in a--in a cage. They know he's headed
for the slaughter. You'll never drive him into that. So a real borned
again Christian will stay away from that.
E-11 Now,
Abraham was standing there and talking to a Man that had His back
turned to the tent where Sarah was. And Abram's--Abraham's name a day
or two before that was Abram and Sarai, and now it's Sarah to Abraham.
And He addressed Abraham in his fatherly, priestly name. "Abraham,
where is Sarah (princess), thy wife?"
He said, "She's in the tent behind You."
He said, "I'm going to visit you according to the promise, the time of
life." In other words, another month. "And I'm going to visit you as I
promised." Been waiting for twenty-five years now for this promised
child, not staggering with unbelief at the Word of God, but was strong,
giving praise to God. Watch this now.
E-12 And
then Sarah, inside the tent... If we'd put it in street expression,
kind of laughed up her sleeve. Said, "Me, an old woman ninety years old
and have--have pleasure with my lord, my husband?" Him out there a
hundred years old, ceased to be as husband and wife many, many years.
And--and the Man with His back turned to the tent, said, "Why did Sarah
question that, saying in her heart these things?" See? And that way
Abraham recognized Who was speaking to him. That was Elohim, exactly.
His sign proved His claim.
Said, "I will visit you." Why'd He say, "I"? How did He call him
Abraham, when He was the One that give him the name in a symbol, not in
the--the presence of a man, showing exactly what would take place, give
him his vindicated authority, that--the promised word, that this Man
that was talking to him was God, Elohim.
E-13 Now, we
find out in Hebrews the 4th chapter and the 12th verse (as I've quoted
it twice already the last couple nights), that the Bible said the Word
of God discerns the thoughts that's in the heart, the secrets of the
heart. And when Jesus could look upon the congregation and discern
their thoughts, and told the woman how many husbands she had, told
Nathanael where he was, that was a vindication that He was that
Messiah, God Emmanuel, because He was the Word.
That's the way the prophets were. The prophets were considered gods.
You understand that. Jesus said so Himself. Said, "How can you condemn
Me when you call those who the Word of God comes to, you call them
gods. And how do you condemn Me when I say I'm the Son of God? And if I
do not the works of My Father, then don't believe it." He was the
vindicated Word of God for that age.
E-14 Now, if He'd come with the sign of Moses, it wouldn't have worked. If Moses would come with Noah's sign, it wasn't prophesied that for that day. And all these clergies, and theologies, and high schools, and schools, and educated ministers, which is fine. We've nothing against it. But that's not the message of the hour. That was for that gloomy day. It shall be Light in the evening time. He promised these things. I've read them over and over out of the Word. "Exactly as it was then," He said, "it will be again." I could tie it with every Scripture in the Bible, and show you that it's the truth.
E-15 Now, His claims there was vindicated when He said who Sarah--what she did behind Him. Now, notice, He promised next month she will conceive. "According to the time of life," He said. Now, notice, the path of Abraham was a type of the royal seed now. Did you notice Abraham, the promise was to him and to his children after him. And then his children was, first, the natural seed, and then the royal Seed, which was Christ. The first seed, which was by sex, come Isaac. But without sex come Jesus, the royal Seed.
E-16 Now,
that the blood... See, we are saved by Blood. And without the shedding
of blood there's no remission. Notice, Jesus was not Jew; Jesus was not
Gentile; Jesus was God. He wasn't... He couldn't be Jew or Gentile.
Look, the male sex produces the hemoglobin, which is the blood cell.
The germ is in the blood cell.
I hear you people here, a lot of you... I was riding around the other
day watching your--your farmers, and you have chickens. Now, a hen can
lay an egg. An old mother bird can lay an egg. But if she hasn't been
with that mate, it'll never hatch. Yet she can lay the egg, for the egg
is in the--in the--by the female. But the blood... And the life is in
the blood.
E-17 So
therefore, His life was a created life, not germitized from some man.
And then, the egg wasn't Mary's, 'cause if the egg was Mary's, as most
Protestants believe and Catholics too, that the egg was Mary's... Now,
the... Was Mary's egg, making it human. No, if the Blood cell was God,
so was the egg God. Because Mary could not produce that egg down... You
know, you understand what I'm talking about. She could not do that
without a sensation. So with--with a sensation what do you make God
doing then? Be sex again. See? So both egg and Blood cell was God. Amen.
And that's... Believe that, and you'll have faith to walk forward.
We're not saved by Jewish blood, or by Gentile blood. We're saved by
the Blood of God, Himself, a created blood Cell.
E-18 As I
said... Take these old mother birds. It's coming springtime. I was
noticing the other day how they're taking straw and going up in and
making their nests. Now, she can get up in there and make a nest, and
lay a nest full of eggs, and set on them, and hover them, and be so
loyal to them eggs, until she--she'll get so poor she can't fly off the
nest to get her something to eat. But if she hasn't been with the male
bird, they'll never hatch. They're not fertile. You know that. They'll
lay in the nest and rot.
That's the way with some of our churches. We just got a nest full of
rotten eggs. They don't have no faith of Abraham. It's time to clean
the nest and start back. Get in contact, not with some organization,
some theological seminary, but get in contact with the Mate, Christ
Jesus, Who brings the fertility to the Spirit of life that's in you.
He's the one that makes you believe it.
E-19 Clean
out the nest and start over again. You pat them on the back, and take
them in, and make them deacons--and married four and five times and
everything. What in the world we coming to, anyhow? Send them off to
seminary, and inject some of that embalming fluid into them, and bring
them back and...
Here the other day, on a estimation, it showed that ninety-nine percent
of the Protestant preachers throughout the nation don't believe in the
literal second coming of Christ. Eighty-seven percent Deny the virgin
birth. Think of that. What are our children going to face out yonder?
God give us back to the faith again that was once delivered to the
saints.
E-20 Abraham...
Watch his path as he comes up. He types exactly with the church. All
that Abraham did has... We've watched the church. If we had the week or
two here to be here, I could show you step by step, the church has made
the same path. The last sign was God, the promised Word, speaking to
him in human flesh: the last promise before the Gentile world was
destroyed, which was Sodom and Gomorrah.
Now, think. Abraham before had... God had appeared to him in many
symbols, and Lights, and forms, and signs. But never had God come to
him as a human being, and spoke in an audible voice, like a human being
out of a human being. And remember, the promise is just now ready to be
fulfilled. The... Sodom is going to be burned. The last message is on.
And there goes the church normal, the church denominal, rather.
There--there goes a modern Billy Graham down in there to jerk them out.
E-21 There's a church elected, not in Sodom, called out, separated. They get a messenger. Notice, the Abraham group got the message. And now, what was it? God, that had been talking to him all along in symbols, and forms, and everything, come right up. And now He manifests Himself right here in human flesh, and discerns the thoughts that's in Sarah's heart behind Him. And Abraham said, "It's Elohim, the all-sufficient One." Remember, immediately after that Sodom was burned.
E-22 Think
of it. The church may be getting its last sign, folks. See, we've...
You've shouted, you've had justification by Luther, sanctification by
Wesley, great times, shouting, rejoicing, speaking in tongues,
interpretation of tongues, Divine healing. But where are we at now? God
speaking right among us, through us audible, just like He did there.
And He promised to do it; that's the thing. It ain't something we made
up. The Bible said so. Jesus said He would do it, make Himself again.
Notice. And immediately after this, Abraham pleaded for Lot. He said if
He could even find ten people, He would spare it, but He couldn't even
find that. The messengers down there, they rejected the messengers.
E-23 Like
Billy Graham's breakfast, when he was in our city, in Louisville,
Kentucky. I was at his breakfast. He said, "I go into a city..." He
said... He held up the Bible. He's a great believer in the Bible. He
said, "I go into a city, and I have a campaign. I have thirty thousand
converts or decisions." He said, "And I'll go back six months from
there, I can't find thirty." And he said, "Paul went into a city and
made one convert. And when he come back a year later, that convert had
made converts, converts times converts, till he had hundreds of
converts by that one."
He said, "Now, what's the matter?" He said, "You bunch of lazy
preachers..." He said, "You set with your feet up on the desk, and
don't go out and visit those people."
E-24 Now, who am I, an illiterate person like me to contradict the great evangelist? But I'd like to have said one word to him. "Billy, what preacher took Paul's convert?" See, it was because Paul took him deep enough, that Christ come into him, and he was a living fire on down to the living Presence, not some intellectual move, or some joiner, or--or get some note signed, or pledge you'll come to church. Take them on to the baptism of the Holy Ghost, and then he'll--he'll be on fire. He'll bring forth children. How can he do it when he's sterile? Can't have children unless he's got life himself. That's the only way that anything can repropagate itself is by the germ. And the Germ is the Holy Spirit that was in Christ, is in the believer.
E-25 Now, we
notice, God's last sign to Abraham literally was God the Word.
Remember, God, the promised Word that had been promised him all along,
spoke to him in human flesh: A Man, standing there talking to him,
discerning the thoughts that was in Sarah's heart, and her back behind
Him in the tent; that was the last sign.
Notice now. He'd before had appeared to him in many symbols and so
forth, such as lights, and fire, and so forth, appeared to him. But
now, notice. And immediately I want you to notice what happened to the
old couple. I hope you don't count me radic. And--and if you don't
believe this, just leave it alone. Just... see. But I just want to tell
you what I think happened.
Did you notice? Now, how is Sarah going to have this baby? Now, she's a
hundred years old. Now, somebody'd say "Well, it was different then."
The Bible said her womb was dead, and the Bible said they were both
well stricken in age. But He's doing to Sarah and Abraham, coming along
this way, just like He promised to do to their seed. And He's done it.
I can prove that, just exactly the steps that Abraham took.
E-26 Now,
look where he's at here now. When this God come and talked to him in
human flesh, made Hisself known to him, immediately now, how's Sarah
going to have this baby? Now, Abraham had lived with her, and perhaps
he was... It said his body was as good as dead. The Bible said it was.
His body now dead, Sarah's womb dead. But he staggered not, yet he
believed it.
Now, look. If Sarah... I'm in a mixed audience, and You forgive me,
sisters. And you'd listen to your doctor, and I'm your brother. But now
notice. Sarah at ninety years old is too old to go in labor. That heart
wouldn't stand it. You know that. And another thing, her milk veins was
dried up. They didn't have the health and hygiene bottles in them days
(See?), had to be a wet mother. Notice. So how's He going to do it? How
is she going to have this baby? Her womb's dead. She's dead in her body
herself, and Abraham's dead.
E-27 You know what He done? He changed them. He turned them back to a young man and a young woman. I can prove that. He made them a young man and a young woman, turned them back young again. Oh, what a wonderful promise. You say, "Oh, Brother Branham..." Well, just wait just a minute. Don't... Just hold on. This may hurt just a little bit, the legalists, but I want you to see this now, just for a minute. Now, we're just teaching like a Sunday school lesson on this. He turned them back to a young man and woman again, about twenty years old.
E-28 Abraham...
Now, look, he's old, his whiskers hanging way down, his body's good as
dead, his little old flabby arms... Sarah, little shawl over her
shoulder, little bitty cap, little grandma hobbling along on a stick...
I can see the next morning. Why, Abraham, with a big hump in his back,
white hair hanging down, and Sarah said, "Abraham, darling, why, your,
your beard is turned black."
"Why, Sarah, them pretty eyes is shining just like they always did.
Your cheeks has got rose in them." Before the sun went down the next
night she was back to a young woman, and he was to a young man.
E-29 You
say, "Nonsense, Brother Branham." Oh, yes, it was too--the young. A
wonderful promise and type for the royal seed of Abraham immediately
coming. Remember. Is it a promise? Yes, we'll be changed. They were
changed back to a young man and woman, just showing exactly what the
church, the royal seed is going to be done. You say, "Is that a
promise?" I Thessalonians 4:17, the trumpet of God shall sound and we
shall be changed; in a moment in a twinkling of an eye, be caught up
together.
Why? Her body, their bodies had to be changed to receive the son. And
our mortal, vile bodies will have to be changed to receive the Son,
'cause we'll be caught up. We'll have to be a different body from this,
for we'll be caught up in the air to meet Him. Amen. Doesn't con...
Just right with the Scriptures... You see? They were changed.
E-30 If we ever meet the Lord in the air we can't meet Him with this kind of a body, 'cause we're earth bound. But we're going to receive one (Hallelujah.) that'll go up in the rapture. And the beauty part of it, it's so close at hand. We see all the signs setting right: won't be long now. One of these mornings there'll be a change. But remember, it'll only come to that royal seed alone. The coming of Jesus will be so secret, the rest of the people will know nothing about it.
E-31 Do you
know there probably won't be too many. "As it was in the days of Noah,
wherein eight souls were saved by water, so shall it be in the coming
of the Son of man." "Strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, but few
there'll be that find it."
You say, "There'll be millions there." They're all through the ages,
redeemed, sure. But that rapturing place, where we're standing now...
What'll take place one of these days? They're going to say, "Now, you
know, here we are over in the tribulation period. I thought that the
church was to be raptured up before the tribulation period."
E-32 That's the truth. Not the church, the bride. The church goes through the tribulation period, but not the bride. No, sir. She's redeemed. She has nothing to be purified by; she's already pure. The Holy Spirit's come into her and purified her, and took away all the filth and gaum of the world. And she believes that Word and becomes part of It. Right. Without the Holy Spirit, nothing doing. It's the bride comes out of the church. And there... She... That's called the remnant of the woman's seed is left to go through the tribulation period.
E-33 You
know, one time after all the Scriptures Isaiah, Malachi 3, and Isaiah
40, prophesying of the coming of John the Baptist, John came just
exactly in line with them Scriptures. And even the disciples come to
Jesus and said, "Why say the scribes (the Scriptures), that the Elias
must first come?"
He said, "He's already come and you didn't know it. He's come, and they
did to him just exactly what they was supposed to do, and you didn't
know it."
Now, that might be one of these days, you could say, "What about the
rapture?"
It's already past and you didn't know it. "There'll be two in a bed.
One will be taken; one left." You know, there's about several hundred
people disappear on earth every day anyhow, you know. They can't make
out for it. And just think of it, the sadness, that people will go
right on preaching and believing they're getting saved.
E-34 And Noah entered into the ark and the door's shut behind him by the hand of God. The sun come up and went down seven days before anything happened. And the people went right on preaching, right on making fun, and everything else, not knowing that their only mercy they ever had was closed off from them. Think. Ministers will still be educating preachers, and sending them out, and things like that going on, and the church moving on, and completely without mercy, without anything, cut off completely. The rapture's gone. "Let him that's filthy, be filthy still." The Scripture says that. Already come, and you didn't know it...
E-35 Think about that tonight, friends, and watch what's going on. There's not nothing in the world can comfort you now but the Word of God. See? There's no other hopes, your nation, nowhere else. We're worm-eaten to the core. You know that. Communism has worm-eaten the thing. It's spoke; it's got to be that way. He ain't going to stop it. Bible said it's going to be that way. So you just ain't going to stop it; that's all. Get ready for the rapture. That's the only thing to do.
E-36 Thessalonians,
the--or the... I Thessalonians 4:17 said that we'll be changed like
Abraham was, and caught up a different body. Now, Abraham, their old
bodies had to be changed. So will ours have to be changed to fulfill
the promise. We'll have to be changed.
Now, you say, "These old bodies?" I want to... I was speaking at a
Kiwanis here sometime ago, and a--and a doctor came out afterwards. He
said, "Mr. Branham," he said, "I appreciate your talk," but said, "you
know I can't believe that--that--that--anything unless it can be
scientifically proved, about that virgin birth and things like that,
and about being God."
I said, "Well, you'll never believe Him, 'cause you can't
scientifically prove God. You've got to believe Him by faith--by faith."
He said, "Well, I don't believe anything that's not scientific."
I said, "Are you a married man?"
He said, "Yes, sir."
I said, "You love your wife?"
He said, "I sure do."
I said, "Scientifically show me what love is then. I want to buy some,
if you can tell me what drug store sells it. I really need it." I said,
"I..." See, just a simple thing.
E-37 I said,
"I'll ask you a question. Now, here. Are we made from the dust of the
earth?"
He said, "Yes, sir."
I said, "We receive that dust by eating the food that comes from the
earth. And it is plant life and so forth." You see, you can only live
by dead substance. See? If you live, something has to die so you can
live physically. If you eat potatoes, it dies. If you eat beef, the cow
died. If you eat pork, the hog died. If you eat greens, it died; it's a
form of life. And you only live natural by--by substance of something
dead: dead substance.
Now, doesn't it only stand to reason, friend, that you could only
eternally live by the substance of Something that died for you? Christ
died, yea, rose again to vindicate His Deity.
E-38 Notice
now. I said, "Doctor, if I eat food then, every time that I eat food it
goes into my body, and it makes blood cells."
He said, "That's right."
"Then every time I eat, I renew my life."
He said, "That's correctly: new blood cells."
I said, "I want to ask you something then. When I was sixteen years
old, I eat corn, and beans, and potatoes, and meat just like I do now.
And every time I eat I got bigger and stronger. And then when I got to
be about twenty-two years old... Every human being, no matter how much
you eat, how well you eat, you get older and weaker. Now, if I'm
pouring water out of this cup into this one, and I pour it half full,
and then I just keep on pouring it after half full; and instead of
coming up it goes down, scientifically prove to me how that's done."
E-39 How is it that I'm eating the same food, renewing my life every day according to--proves it--scientifically proves I'm renewing my life when I take in new blood cells, same kind of blood I took when I was sixteen years old. But why is it, after I got about twenty-something, then no matter how much I eat, I'm going down, getting older, and older, and older, and drawing right on down all the time. Instead of filling me up like it did then, now it's taking me down. It's an appointment, that's what it is.
E-40 But God
made a picture. And He got you when you was about twenty-something
years old. If nothing could interfere... Like the little crippled boy
setting here, just like a stalk of corn start up, and something lays
over it and makes it grow crooked... If you could move that crooked
thing that made it do that, the stalk would straighten up. It's got to;
that's all.
Notice, if nothing interferes with it, there you are fine young lady,
fine young man, you and your husband standing together, modern Adam and
Eve from the beginning. God said, "There they are. Now, death, you--you
get after them. You can start taking them, but you can't fully take
them till I call." Now, what is it? It's a negative picture.
E-41 Oh, my. See, that's exactly what He done to Sarah and Abraham. He wiped away the old age. Old age is a sign of death, and there'll be no signs of death in heaven. See, all memory of death will be taken away, and there'll be no old age. We'll all be young. It's just a picture that God has drawed in your youth. And now, God taken and set Abraham and Sarah right back to that good young age again. So there we are.
E-42 And
another proof I want to show you now. I--I don't--I feel that isn't
going over too good. I just have to... You don't believe that. Well,
let me ask you. Let me show you something. Let me show you that they
did do it.
Now, watch. Look where they was on the map when God appeared to them,
up there by Sodom. Immediately after that they took nearly a
three-hundred mile trip down to Gerar. That's quite a trip for an old
man and woman. Here's this old man now, with his whiskers hanging way
down, on his stick. Here's little grandma, you know, with little bonnet
on, shuffling along behind him, making little four or five-inch steps
as she goes.
E-43 And
then, trouble of it was, when they got down to Gerar, there was
Abimelech. A king was hunting for a sweetheart. And all those fine
women he had down there, the Philistine girls, when he saw Sarah he
fell in love with her, wanted to make her his wife. Is that right? Ha,
ha!
Oh, brother, the Bible is just like a love letter. You have to read
between the lines, see what It means. God said He hid it from the eyes
of the wise and prudent, and revealed it to babes such as would learn.
E-44 When
I'm out in the missions, my wife writes me a letter. And I love her and
she loves me. And she'd say, "Dear Bill, tonight I just put the
children to bed, and I've worked today..." I see what she's
reading--what she's writing. But see, I so love her I can read right
between the lines. I know what she's talking about. She don't have to
tell me I know, 'cause I can read between the lines.
That's the way it is with God. We're not trying to study from some
newspaper standpoint, some theological standpoint. But fall in love
with Him. Get down and really get Him in your heart. The love of God's
shed abroad in our heart by the Holy Ghost. Then go to reading the
Bible. You'll see it coming right out between the lines. See, you know
what He's saying. He never said that right out in a word. Jesus thanked
the Father because that He'd hid those things from the eyes of the wise
and prudent.
Now, no one else could read my wife's letters like that, 'cause I love
her that way. See? And that's the way she writes to me. That's the way
God writes to you; it's between the lines. You read it.
E-45 Here she is now, Sarah. Sure, went down there... Could you imagine a little grandma, you know, and all them pretty girls down there in the Philistine company--in country, Gerar. And here's Abimelech there. He's a fine-looking young king, and he wants to get him a sweetheart. So he looks all around. They're pretty and everything. But he sees grandma coming, you know, shaking, nervous, coming along. He said, "That's the one I've waited for. That's her." Said, "Oh..."
E-46 And Abraham said, "I pray thee, Sarah, you show this kindness to me. You're fair to look upon." Oh... Said, "When you get down there, you say I'm your brother, and I'll say that you're my sister, 'cause if you don't they'll kill me and take you." See, they... You couldn't have two wives at the same time then. See? So then we... She couldn't have two husbands, rather, at the same time. One of these days I'm going to preach on that. Then you talk about serpent's seed stirring something up, you wait till this comes out.
E-47 Well...
Well, now, remember. Then we find that when seeing that coming, little
old grandma like that, Abimelech fell in love with her, and went and
took her to be his wife. Think of that. See where He turned them back?
Sure, He had to.
This Bible love letter is something God writes to us. He's hid it from
the eyes of the wise and prudent, and He will revealed it to babes such
as would learn. He hide--He hid his coming. He hid Jesus from the
Pharisees, them students of the Scripture. We ain't got nothing like
them today. No matter how student they was, they didn't recognize Him.
He was hid. The Bible said He was.
E-48 And you
know the Bible said the clergy of this day would be hid the same way?
"Heady, high minded, lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God, truce
breakers, false accusers, incontinent, and despisers of those that are
right; having a..."
You say, "That's Communist."
No, no. "Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof;
from such, turn away." See? That's right. "This is the sort that goes
from house to house, and leads silly women laden with divers lusts," so
forth.
E-49 Notice. Now, we find Abraham down there. And Abimelech comes over and said, "That's the one I've waited on all the time." So he had his girls to come get her, and take her out there, and, oh, maybe fix her all up, and make her look like some queen of some sort. And that night... I want you to notice here, God's grace to his prophet. This might choke just a little bit, but it's the truth. No matter what it looks like, you look at just what the Bible said.
E-50 Now,
you see, Abimelech, he thinks, "Tomorrow I'll marry this beautiful
Hebrew girl. And she's over in the chambers over there now. And my
maids are perfuming her, and making her hair pretty, and fixing all
up." Now, could you imagine an old ninety-year-old woman getting fixed
up like that to marry a young king?
So we find out as they get this beautiful Hebrew girl all fixed up...
And he takes his bath and--and lays down, stretches out his feet after
saying his prayers, and laid down, said, "Oh, my."
E-51 Now,
would--could you imagine Abraham doing a trick like that? A man that
would say a thing like that about his wife? Talk about a coward.
Abraham did that. There he is, setting out there now, after doing a
thing like that.
Notice. And Abimelech, that night the Lord appeared to him in a dream
and said, "You're just as good as a dead man." Said, "You've got
another man's wife."
He said, "Lord, You know the integrity of my heart." Said, "I--I... She
told me that was her--her brother, and he told me that was his sister."
He said, "I know the integrity of your heart. That's the reason I kept
you from sinning against Me." See? "But that... Her husband is My
prophet." Look at His grace to His prophet, though he's in the wrong.
See? Said, "He's My prophet. I'll not hear your prayers. You go take
him his wife back, and let him pray for you. If you don't, your whole
nation's gone; every womb is closed."
E-52 Think
of that. It's exactly what He said. And Abimelech was a good man and
feared God. Yes, sir. But you see what the grace of God does? There set
His prophet out there that give his wife over to be married to another
man, even looking for the promise of the child, and things like that,
and the grace of God stays with that Word, regardless of what it is.
That's right. "Her husband is My prophet, and I'll not hear your
prayer. No matter how righteous, and how good, and how smart you are,
unless he prays for you you're a dead man."
So he took and restored Sarah back. Oh, my. Then Isaac come on the
scene.
E-53 Now, in
closing, quickly now, I want to get to something. Isaac come on the
scene, and then the promise was fulfilled.
Now, after Isaac come, a little boy, he got about twelve years old, so
forth, God made a double test of Abraham. After he'd already tested him
for twenty-five years now, then he made a double test. Now, He said,
"Abraham, I want you to take this son now, your only son, and take him
up to a mountain that I'll show you here in this vision. And I want you
to take him up there and offer him up for a sacrifice."
E-54 And he
said... He never could--never refused to do it. He just got up the next
morning after the Lord spoke to him, saddled up the little mules, and
took some wood and stuff and clave it, and took off with the mules. He
traveled three days. And then he got to the place, and he looked off in
the far distance after traveling three days. Now, here's where Abraham
was. And three day's journey... And when... Men then didn't have
gasoline feet like we have today. And any ordinary man can walk
twenty-five miles a day. See? Where did he get to, back in those
wilderness?
And he said, "Now, you wait here." I like this of Abraham. He said to
the servant, said, "You wait here with the mules, and I and my son will
go yonder to worship; and we shall return."
How is he going to do it, when he was going up there to kill him? God
told him, said, "Go up there and take his life."
E-55 But
what did the Bible say in Romans 4? "Abraham knew that he had received
him as one from the dead, and was fully persuaded that God was able to
raise him up from the dead, from where he received him as a figure."
Said, "You wait here."
How He's going to do? I can't tell you. Can you think of that, sister,
with the baby in your arms, and the mother setting in the wheelchair,
little boy there, over here, dad? I don't know how He's going to do it.
I just don't know how He's going to do it, but He's going to do it
because He promised He would on the basis you'd believe it. He does it
to others. See?
E-56 "The
boy and I... The lad and I will return." See? "You wait here, and we'll
go worship." And he put the wood on little Isaac, the type of Christ
packing His cross. Got to the top of the mountain, little Isaac got
suspicious.
And he said, "Father..."
He said, "Here I am, my son."
He said, "Why, here is the altar; here is the fire; here is the wood;
but where is the lamb for a sacrifice?"
Listen to these words now, coming from Abraham's lips. "My son, God
will provide for Himself a lamb for the sacrifice." That means, God's
provided sacrifice: Jehovah-jireh, the Lord provide lamb. And when he
had bound his hands, and laid him upon the--on the altar...
E-57 Imagine what a time that was now, after waiting for him for twenty-five years, and God made--having him destroy the only thing that he'd testified about all through the years. He was a reproach among the people, laughing at him. And here God says, "Destroy the very thing that's going to give you the only hope you can if My Word's going to be fulfilled in you. I give you the boy. He's twelve years; they've all recognized him, still made you a father of nations, but go kill your boy." Could you imagine that? God just showing us, no matter what anybody says, or anything contrary to that Word, refuse to look at it. The real seed of Abraham believes that.
E-58 "Destroy
that son." And Abraham laid him upon there. You can imagine--taking his
little curly hair and rolling it back out of his face, and his little
brown eyes looking up like that, and his little lips quivering, see
that big-bladed knife come out of his father's... Think of a father.
Laid his little head back, and pulled his throat back so he could stab
him through the throat with his knife, in obedience to God.
No matter what it looked like, he said, "I received him as one from the
dead; God's able to raise him up." Raised back the knife and started,
and the Holy Spirit caught his hand.
Said, "Abraham, Abraham."
Said, "Here am I."
Said, "Stay your hand." Said, "I know that you love me and trust me
now, seeing that you wouldn't even--you'd would give the--the--your
only son."
E-59 And just about that time there was a ram hooked by its horns in the wilderness behind him. I want to ask you something, brother, sister. Where did that ram come from? Look. You're back there three day's journey from civilization in the wilderness, where there's lions, jackals, and all kinds of wild dogs, and beasts, and things back there, that would kill that ram right now. And look, he's way up on top of the mountain where there's no water. And he'd picked up rocks all around there, making this altar, and the ram wasn't there. But when God needed one, there it was. And it wasn't a vision; he stabbed it and the blood run out of it. It died.
E-60 God spoke it into existence this minute, and Abraham took it out of existence the next minute. See? Jehovah-jireh, the Lord will provide for Himself a lamb. The... Impossible for the ram to be there. If anybody knows about sheep in a jungle, in the wilderness like that, and there where all the wild animals and savage things back in there would kill that ram right now. It couldn't have existed back there. And here up on top of the mountain, where there's no water, no grass, or nothing up there... And he wasn't there a few minutes before that. And just at the moment that God needed that ram, there it was. He spoke it into existence.
E-61 Just like He'd appeared to him down there: Elohim. He needed--He needed a body to come down to earth in, so He just gathered up the cosmic light, and the petroleums, and so forth, and stepped into it. See, He's God. That's the way He'll do you. After you're no more than a spoonful of ashes in the dust, He'll still speak, and you'll be there. He'll call your name and you'll answer: the seed of Abraham. What a... That promise fulfilled...
E-62 Notice, it was a ram. Now, if you've got just a minute longer, I'd like to explain this. You know, the other night I left it alone. I never even explained it to my church. And you remember when He confirmed that sacrifice, confirmed that covenant to him? Taken a she-goat, took a heifer, she-calf, and split them in two, and took a ram. Now, remember, when the royal seed of his faith... Remember, it wasn't a she, it was a he. It was a he; the promise was fulfilled. Notice, a ram: he, he, to meet the Word. He is the Word, that Ram, not a she; they were offered first, remember, Genesis 15. The she, they was the first one down. Then he took a ram. Ram was the last. He, Ram, the provided Word. Not the she-goat, the organization, the church (See?), not the she, the church, but he, the ram. Amen.
E-63 That's
the reason He was born in April, not in December as the Roman church
put it the sun god's birthday, and put it with His up there on the
twenty-fifth of December, when the circuses was going on. If you took
the--the--the--studied the history of the church then you understand
that they put that up there to make... It was the sun-god's birthday,
the solar, when it stopped almost still. There's no change in it for
five days, from December the twentieth to the twenty-fifth.
They put the Son of God and the sun-god's birthday the same,
compromising Christianity with paganism. Made December... He couldn't
have been born on December the twenty-fifth. Why, it's snow-bound
mountains up there in Judaea. He was born like all lambs are. He was
borned in springtime. And He had to be born under the ram, because He
was a ram. And the ram was April. Exactly. He was borned under that
ram. That's what He was. He was God's Ram. That was Him up there that
took Isaac's place. Amen. Don't you see it?
E-64 There it is, shown here plainly the royal seed bride will not be called by the she, church, denominational she-goat sacrifice. No, but by Him, the manifested Word of the Ram, for He is the Word and the Ram...?... Not called, He said, not called by her name, but called by His Name. He'd take a people out of the Gentiles, not for her name, but for His Name, would bear His Name. Oh, my. What are you afraid of it for then? A Gentile would bear His Name, the Ram, not her name, the church: not she, but He. Hallelujah.
E-65 The royal seed would see it. Can't you see Malachi 4 coming to pass, restore back to the original faith: the Word of God? Surely you people can see that. We won't have to make it any plainer. Let that denomination go, men. Get back to that Word. And the voice of the last day, and the sign of the last day, is to swing the people back to the original faith. Malachi 4 said so. Back to the Word, and He was the Word: not her: Him. Amen. The Name of the Lord Jesus...
E-66 The
vindicated Word now by the promise... The Word that promised St. John
14:12, "Works that I do shall you do also." Malachi 4, the same thing
He said there... Also Luke 17 tells us that in the last days the
manifestation of the world would be set just exactly in order like it
was in the days of Sodom, and God would come down manifested in human
flesh and would know the secrets of the heart. Jesus said that thing
that'd take place in the days when the Son of man is being revealed at
the end of the world.
See, it's not the church, "Join this, join that." It's come to Him.
That's what Abraham's seed got there the sacrifice offered. Instead of
his literal seed, what about his spiritual seed (Amen.), his royal
seed, the queen seed. Amen. Oh, if you could just see it. Remember,
what is it? It's flesh and spirit uniting, coming one.
E-67 Look.
In Matthew, 3rd chapter, here was flesh, virgin-born Son of God, coming
down out of the--of the city, walked out to John the Baptist. And there
he was standing in the water. The Bible said the Word of the Lord
always comes to the prophet. Is that right? And John was a prophet.
They hadn't had a prophet in hundreds of years, but here he was, a
prophet, standing there. And he was prophesying that Jesus would come.
He'd been out in the wilderness, and said he'd seen a sign. God told
him that sign would be following that Messiah when He come.
He said, "He's standing among you somewhere now. There's One among you
Whose shoes I'm not worthy to loose. He'll be made manifest one of
these days. And when He does, then I'll decrease, He'll increase." He
happened to look and see that sign. He said, "Here he comes now. Behold
the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world."
E-68 The old
Baptist preacher, Dr. Davis, that baptized me into the fellowship of
the Baptist church discussed that with me one time. He said, "You know
what happened there, Billy?"
And I said, "No, I don't, Doctor."
He said, "Here's what happened. John had never been baptized." Said,
"John baptized Jesus, and then Jesus turned around and baptized John."
I said, "I don't know about that." So I kept praying about it. One
night in a vision, here's what it was. See? He never... He never...
Jesus never baptized John. But watch. He said, "I have need to be
baptized of Thee, and why comest Thou to me?"
Jesus said, "Suffer that to be so." Watch them two eyes, two main men
on earth. There was God. Here was His prophet. And the Word come to the
prophet. If the Word's in flesh, It'll go to the prophet. No matter
where It's at, It'll go to the prophet. It's got to. The Bible said so.
No. And here come...
E-69 He was
the Word. In the beginning was the Word. And the Word was made flesh
and dwelled among us. And here come the Word to the prophet, right out
in the water to fulfill and vindicate his prophecy. Amen. Here He
stands there. And there them two eyes meet one another: one the
prophet, and the other One the Word. And John, humble before Him, he
said, "I have need to be baptized of Thee, and why comest Thou to me?"
He said, "Suffer that to be so, for thus it is becoming to us
(behooving us... See? becoming) to fulfill all righteousness." John,
being a prophet and knowed that Word, 'cause the Word come to him; he
knowed that That was the sacrifice. And according to the law the
sacrifice had to be washed before presented. It's exactly. He baptized
Jesus 'cause He was the coming Sacrifice. Before He could go to His
public life He had to be baptized, because the sacrifice must be washed
before it's presented. Amen. He baptized Him. And when he did, He went
straightway out of the water, and he looked up and saw the Spirit of
God like a dove; and a voice coming from it said, "This is My beloved
Son, in Whom I am pleased to dwell in." God and man become one.
E-70 Adam
and Eve was one at the beginning, and when He separated them she fell,
because of the Word; she missed the Word. She fell. So has each church
age fall like that on account of misinterpreting the Word, letting the
interpreter that... Satan interpreted it to Eve. "Oh, surely that
couldn't be right... Surely this, surely these all can't be... This
can't... Oh, yes, I know. Surely..."
But if God said so, that makes it so; ain't no surely to it. You must
be borned again. You've got to receive the Holy Ghost, either that, or
perish.
E-71 Notice
Him, here He--here He come, and Jesus and God became One. They united.
Like in Eden where there... Adam and Eve was, in the beginning, the
same spirit. Their names was called Adam. See? He was both Adam and Eve
together. And when was separated to go the test, what happened? Eve
fell by the Word; that was the Word. Adam went out after her to redeem
her, but he couldn't do it. He wasn't worthy to redeem her. Then along
come the second Adam to redeem the church, which was in shadow in type.
Now, as sure as Adam and Eve had to be the same spirit, Christ and the
church has to be the same Spirit, the same ministry: "the things that I
do shall you do also." See what I mean? They had to unite together.
Flesh and blood and God had to come together and be one Spirit. And
Jesus Christ and His church is one Spirit.
E-72 How can
the church deny creation? How can the church deny the thing that Christ
told them to do? How can we deny it, and then say that we are Christ's?
"If ye abide in Me and My words abide in you, ask what you will; it'll
be given to you. I am the Vine; ye are the branches." And the life
that's in the vine goes into the branch to bear the fruit: fruit
bearers. And every limb that don't bring forth good fruit is hewed off.
That's the way organizations, they break it up, get the Word mixed up,
and start off like that. And one starts, one this way and one that way.
And first thing you know a few little bunch of Rickys come in, and they
get their idea in it. And first thing you know then it's become a big
bunch of Babylon. He just prunes it off.
Never did a organization ever rise but what it fell. And every one
fell, never did come back again. [Blank.spot.on.tape--Ed.] He'll
take a man from somewhere else, bring it right out. Certainly.
E-73 Notice
in this now. They had to become one. Jesus said then, the Life that's
in Him will be in His church. And here's exactly what He promised in
the last days, that the life that was in Christ, that was in--will be
manifested in the days that the world's in a Sodom condition, just like
it is now. Can't you see, brother, sister? What good does it do to join
church if you haven't got Christ in your life, and Christ identifying
Himself in your life. See? That's it. "These signs shall follow them
that believe." He said that. How could you say it... If it's not, how
can you claim to be Christ's?
You say, "Brother Branham, how do you think you're ever going to make
that stick with the people in this intellectual day, when everything is
a denomination?"
E-74 I asked
a woman not long ago, "Are you a Christian?": in a hospital.
She said, "I give you to understand I burn a candle every night." Like
that had anything to do with Christianity.
I ask... I went to pray for another woman, and another lady was laying
there sick, her and her son. And I said--come in. I said, "Lady, will
you... yeah, I know who you are. You're Mrs. Oliver."
She said, "Yes, Brother Branham." She said, "I've been very sick,
Brother Branham. The doctor can't find what's wrong with me. Would you
offer prayer? That's the reason I called you."
I said, "Why, certainly, Sister Oliver." I said, "Would you mind bowing
your..."
Said, "Wait just a minute. Pull that curtain."
And I said, "Well, all right." I said, "I was just going to pray. Are
you a Christian?"
She said, "We're Methodists."
"Well," I said, "that wasn't what I asked you. I asked you if you was a
Christian."
She said, "Pull that curtain." See? That's just how narrow... How could
a person ever be... That's blackness and darkness, denominational
difference cutting them off from the blessings of God. That exists in
all denominations. That's right. Brother, don't go to she; take on Him.
Don't take her name; take His. Take His Name.
E-75 You
say, "Brother Branham, how are you going to make it stick today? How're
you going to do it?"
He made the promise that He would. Said, "Fear not, little flock. It's
your Father's good will to give you the Kingdom." How's He going to do
it? He's still Jehovah-jireh. He's still Jehovah-jireh. God can provide
for Himself a church. He's able of these stones to rise children to
Abraham. Certainly, He's Jehovah-jireh.
Say, "Will it work?" It... Sure. God promised it. "You think you'll
ever make it?" I can't, but He will. I'm not responsible for making Him
do it. I'm just responsible for preaching it. It's His business to
confirm it; that's Him. If I stand by the truth, He'll stand by it.
He's proved it, and He will do it. You say, "It's awful dark." Yes, I
know it's awful dark, and all the ecclesiastics going into this great
big organization to a slaughter. Oh...?... "What you going to do about
that?" Just reminds me of a little story. I might say this, just before
closing.
E-76 Down in
Carlsbad, New Mexico, here they have the caverns there, you know,
the--where you have to go down about a mile, down in that... I never
did like that stuff. They're always like a mole in the ground. And we
went down in there. Oh, it gets midnight dark down there. And there was
some little girls standing, oh, probably like that little thing there.
And her little brother was standing over here to one side, with the
guide that was taking them down.
So they was standing down in this dark place, and there... It was light
then. They had all the lights on. And this man, just for... The guide
slipped over to the light. And this little boy was walking along with
him, watching the guide. So the guide got over there, and took this
switch, and he just threw the switch off. Oh, my. Talk about dark. A
mile deep in the ground, you know, so dark you couldn't wave your hand,
couldn't see nothing.
E-77 And
that little girl was screaming for all that was in her. She was just
jumping up and down, screaming, screaming as hard as could... And out
of all the screams, the little boy, standing over to one side, he said,
"Oh, little sister. Oh, little sister."
She said, "What do you want, little brother?"
Said, "Don't be scared. There's a man here that can turn on the lights."
There's a Man here that can turn on the light. He's--He's
Jehovah-jireh. See? There's a Man here that's among us tonight, the
Holy Spirit; He can turn on the lights. He is the Word: a Man here that
can turn on the light. I don't know how He'll do it. It's not for me to
know. But he knows how to turn the switch on. He made the promise.
He made it up there... When Abraham had his knife above his son's
throat, He turned on the light. Yes, He can turn on the light again
tonight. Let us bow our heads just a minute.
E-78 God help, that He'll turn that little switch in your heart. Friends, this week you've seen the great Holy Spirit among us. There's no question to that. But, oh, let that little Light be turned on tonight. Don't miss it, my brother, sister. I think that just with this one little chapter here of--of Abraham has proved, just linking it back and forth from Genesis to Revelations has proved what hour we're living in. Christ rejected in our nation again. Earthquakes in divers places, Sodom and Gomorrah, the church in its condition, exactly forming the image of the beast. All these things has taken place as the Bible said. And you people know that. See?
E-79 Now,
without this great experience with Christ... If the Life of Christ
comes in you... Now, just take a look at yourself in God's mirror, and
just see if you can identify yourself tonight.
If you'd been living in the days of--of Noah in time of the flood, what
side would you be identified with? If you was living in the days of
Moses, what side would you have been on? If you'd have lived in the
days of Christ, when all the churches was against Him... He had to
stand alone out there and the things He did. Only thing was God with
Him; that's the only thing. Even all of his disciples, nearly, walked
away from him. But what side, just in your present state now, where
would you--what side will you be on? What side would you be on, right
now, when you see Him again, right among us?
Now, He's here. He can turn the light on in your heart, and just fill
your life with the Holy Spirit. How many here now, with your heads
bowed and your hearts too will pray with me just a moment?
E-80 Now,
heavenly Father, we know that You just don't come along and--and do
things just to show that You can do it. You're doing it for a purpose.
And, Lord, this week I felt led to wait till this minute in this very
time, that first they would see that the Word is confirmed. It's beyond
any question now. And this one character, Abraham, when all characters
in the Bible are tied right into it, and we see where we're sitting
right now...
Father, with a broken-up word, but it's the best I could do... I pray
now that the great Holy Spirit that's here, that knows the secret of
every heart, will speak to that heart right now. Do, Lord. Speak to
that one that would not go if You was coming tonight. If the door would
be closed tonight, if they would die on the road home, or get hit by a
car and killed, or die and be found dead in the bed in the morning,
they wouldn't be saved. O, God, please don't let none of them go that
way.
If they've just joined church, Lord, may they not be ashamed to step
out and ask God for a filling of His Spirit, that His Life would come
into them. If they haven't been able to understand these things,
neither did the disciples. But they held on until the Holy Spirit was
poured out. Then they understood it and wrote the Bible. I pray,
Father, now, that You'll speak to every heart, and let them know that
the Man that can turn the Light on is right at their heart's door.
E-81 With our heads bowed now, how many in here will be real honest, and say, "Brother Branham, I--I know that I'm not right with God." I want--I want you to raise your hand. Just keep your head bowed, everybody, but raise your hand. "I'm not right with God." God bless you. God bless you. Yes. "I..." Hands... "I know I'm not right with God." See, what I'm trying to do? Find favor with God for this great healing services tomorrow. If I can just get favor, I don't believe there'll be a thing left but what will--God will heal, if I can just get the people to believe.
E-82 Now, you without the baptism of the Holy Spirit... And you know that is the Oil. If you didn't have oil in the lamp, they did not go in. And did you ever hear of such a time in the papers where Presbyterians, Lutherans... Look at the Christian Business Men's magazine: Lutherans, Presbyterian, even Catholic, are seeking to find the baptism of the Holy Ghost by the hundreds. And I wonder if those Full Gospel Business Men understand that they will not get it. The Bible said, when they come, said, "Give us some of your oil." They said... The sleeping virgin, they realized they had all that time to get oil, but they didn't do it. So when the bridegroom was just about to come, they said, "Give us some of your oil."
E-83 They
said, "We just got enough for ourselves. You go buy it from them that
sell." And while they were gone the bridegroom come, and the bride went
in. And they were cast into outer darkness, to wake up and find out the
rapture was gone and they were left, where there'll be weeping and
wailing... a tribulation period... and gnashing of teeth.
My brother, sister, tonight, my friend, if you haven't got the Holy
Spirit, will you... or are convicted enough to know that you should
have it, would you raise up your hand, say, "Pray for me, Brother
Branham. I believe we're in the Presence of God. Pray for me. I do not
have the Holy Ghost." God bless you. Just look at the hands everywhere.

E-84 Now, I
know, to you Methodists, and Baptists, and so forth, there's a lot of
fanaticism that follows any message. Now, to you Lutherans, I was just
reading the history of Martin Luther, one of his books that was wrote
on him here not long ago. They said it wasn't so mysterious that Martin
Luther could protest the Catholic church and get by with it, but to
hold his head above all the fanaticism that followed his revival. And
that goes... There's a mixed multitude with every revival. You know
that. But now remember, that only indicates that there's a real one.
When you see a bogus dollar, somebody's making out like they got
something, just remember there's one genuine that's made off of. If it
isn't, that's the original. See? So you know that that can't be the
original. So there has to be a original. And that original is the real
Jesus Christ, the One that's here that knows every secret in your heart
right now.
E-85 And I'm
going to ask you, if you seen Him, and hear these testimonies of all
kinds of things being healed, and how the people's hearts has been made
known through this week, and you... That's Him talking to you. That's
Him. I wonder if you believe that me praying and--for you would help
you? Remember, the Holy Ghost was given by laying on of hands. Peter,
after Philip had went down to Samaria and baptized all the people down
there in the Name of Jesus Christ, yet Peter came down and laid hands
upon them and the Holy Ghost came upon them. See?
Now, if you believe in that, I wonder if you'd come up here, each one
that's not saved or haven't got the Holy Ghost, would come here and
stand right here just a minute, let me pray for you. If you just come
from the aisle, no matter where you are, just stand here. Just walk up
here and let me--let me pray with you just a moment. God bless you.

friend, do you believe that the Holy Spirit through this week has
proved that He speaks here? Let's see your hands. There should be this
many more or more. I feel that feeling. See, He isn't... There's
something wrong yet. Better come. Remember, I can't--I can't force you
to come against your own will, but I believe this might be the time all
that what you've looked forward to, it might be fixing to happen right
now.
And this could be; I hope it's not. It could be the last time you'll
ever be called. Remember, He won't always strive. He'll call, then
He'll turn from you, never to come again. Why don't you come right now?
Won't you come up here and just represent yourself before God? Say,
"I'll come stand. I'll take the way. I'm not ashamed. I belong to
church. But I want the whole world to know that I'm ready to receive
Christ in my heart, the Holy Spirit. I'm coming now to do it. I'm ready
to straighten up, be a real Christian, a real lady, a real man." Won't
you come? We'll just wait.
E-88 Come
right on down; that's right. Out of the balconies and aisles, come
down. You just make your stand. Friend, I may never see you again this
side of the great time. But if I don't, remember, I'm going to be
innocent now. So's Christ. He's identified Hisself with you. You'll see
Him do the same thing in a little bit. All right, Now, come down, take
your stand. "Why," you say, "Brother Branham, you're judging."
No, I'm not. I'm judging this feeling that's in me. See? There's
something in here that says, "Oh, there's more. There's many more." See?
Now, you say, "Well, I've--I've joined church, Brother Branham. I'm
Pentecostal; I--I don't..."
I'm not saying that, friend. I'm not asking that at all. I'm asking,
"Have you got the Life of Christ in?"
Say, "Brother Branham, I've spoke in tongues." That's good, but that
ain't still what I'm asking about. You say, "Brother Branham, I never
harmed anybody." That's not still what I'm asking about. Is the Life of
Christ in you? Don't take no chance, friend. Don't, don't, don't, do
that. It's going to be... When you--when death strikes you, it's too
late then. Don't do it. Please don't.
E-89 Now,
we've got so many here right now, I'll have to get a little room for
some more. I'm going to pray for these, and then--so we can go in, get
in the room there, so we can come lay hands on them to receive the Holy
Ghost. And then we're going to pray right now for these. You bow your
heads just a moment.
Our heavenly Father, here are those bowed here. They're men and women;
they're eternity-bound people. They--they must go; we know that. And we
see earthquakes, and the world in the position it's in now, and see the
Christ come to us and do the things that He's doing, and see the
message, the Word, go right out. And then see Him come right behind it
and vindicate it to be true, knowing every secret of the heart. And
these people now have come forward to make a stand. They couldn't have
done this by themselves. They come because they were led to come. And,
Father, I'm offering prayer for them right here, not only for their
salvation to be saved, but they might be filled with the Holy Ghost.
Grant it, Lord.
E-90 May each one standing here be filled with the Spirit, and may from here come a revival through this country that'll just shake this community and all this country round about. Grant it, Lord. And every church, in the Methodist, Baptist, Presbyterian, Church of Christ, Lutheran, whatever it might be, may there come a revival, Lord, of these people going back with the real Holy Spirit manifesting God in their lives. Grant it, Father. They're Yours now, and I offer them to You. Now, we're going to take them in and lay hands upon them, Lord, that they might receive the Holy Ghost. In Jesus' Name.
E-91 Now, while we all have our heads down, I'm asking this group now to follow this man right here by your side, so I can get--we can get to you back over here in the room. We got a place over here for you to kneel down. We come lay hands on you that you'll receive the Holy Ghost. And if you're sick, you're be healed, and just whatever you have need of. Go right here now, and we can get right in with you. There's more has to come with you, there a little... There's no room for them to stand. We're just going to make this double call now. E-92 Now, to the rest of you here now, as they move out, why don't you move right up here now again for prayer. And we fill this place up again around here now. We're going in there to receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost. We're going in, after we've seen the identification of that Lord Jesus here before us this week, and know beyond the shadow of a doubt that that's Him here. Now, remember, the same Holy Spirit, the same Jesus that would tell me what was the matter with those people, where they were, who they were, where they come from, what's going to happen to them... And you know, it never failed one time. And it never will: never will. That same Holy Spirit told me to do this. That's right. I'm doing it by the leadership of the Holy Spirit.
E-93 Now,
while this... as soon as this group gets out in this other room here,
before we go over there, we want you to come. Now, you here, come. Move
up this way. Now, the rest of you here that wants the baptism of the
Spirit, won't you come right now? Move up this way...?... God bless

And if some of you are sick, and not filled with the Holy Ghost, why
don't you come, receive Christ? Receive Him, and then you'll stand a
better tonight. This lady was just stricken down by the... She
couldn't--was so under conviction like she couldn't stand it. They're
helping her to the room. Come on now, you, next of you here now,
there's plenty of room standing around now.

up, you that's church members, Methodists, Baptists. We're not asking
you to... Listen, friends, I know they say, "Pentecost, they organized
Pentecost." That's wrong. Pentecost is an experience. The Methodists
get it; the Baptists get it; all of them get it. Pentecost is not
organized; it's an experience. And if you haven't had the experience of
Pentecost, come, receive it now.
Remember, if you believe me to be His servant, His prophet, remember,
there is a genuine baptism of the Holy Ghost. Right in the midst of all
the fanaticism, there's still a genuine Holy Ghost, a genuine One of
God. You come, believe it right now. Won't you come, while we sing just
one or two more verses of this song, so I can be sure that my soul is
clean. When I leave this city now, the blood won't be upon...

I claim them in the Name of the Lord Jesus for the--for the jewels of the crown of my Lord, oh, Whose Presence is here now, the great Pillar of Fire moving around through the building, sweeping over hearts. I pray, God, that that heart will break off them shackles, and raise up, and come sweetly to Jesus Christ, say, "Lord, all I am, here I am. Take me and mold me, Lord, in Thy great molding house, and fill me, and make me a son or daughter of God." Grant it, Lord.

bow our heads now while these get ready. Now, as you stand here, just
look down. Remember you had to come by some pulsation of something
inside of you telling you there's a little something wrong in your
life. I admire your stand. Remember, Jesus said, "If you're ashamed of
Me before men, I'll be ashamed of you before My Father and the holy
Angels. But he that will confess Me before men, him will I confess
before My Father and the holy Angels."
And now there's quite a few people back in here now, that's ready to
join with us now in prayer, that you will be saved and filled with the
Holy Ghost. Just tell Him you're sorry for what you've done, and you're
going to be a Christian from now on by His grace, and you want the
baptism of the Holy Spirit that's going to lead you down through life's
journey.
E-99 Heavenly Father, they're jewels to Your crown. They could not have come... They could not have come 'less something warned them. And You said, "No man can come except My Father draws, and all that the Father has given Me will come." And here they come, by something telling them to come. Then You're starting a work, Lord. I pray that You'll finish it tonight in them, Lord, by making them sons and daughters of God. Grant it. May not one of them be lost. I present them to You now as trophies of Your Word and Your Presence. In Jesus Christ's Name. Amen.
E-100 Now, go
right back in the room till we can to you. Go to the right here. The
ushers will lead you right back. And now--now, I wonder if the personal
workers now will come, follow these right in, many of the personal
workers from other churches. You ministers, that wants to go back in
there with us now, to find out whether this is done just right or not,
you come go back with us. Come kneel with your people, that they
receive the Holy Spirit. Each one, come right with... You ministers,
any of you. Methodist, Baptist, Presbyterian, no matter who you are,
come on. You're invited. Come with these people.
And you personal workers from different churches that knows how to pray
with people, lay hands upon them, come now. These are--these are placed
into your hands. They're trophies of the Word. Won't you come now at
this time, your personal workers, and make your way back before we
change the meeting here just for a minute? Come now. Move right in.
That's fine. Go right back into the room, lots of room back there. Now,
go right back and do everything you can to help these dear people.
E-101 Dear Jesus has brought them. He has caught them into the Gospel net. Now, you take them back there and let's pray with them that God will fill each one of them with the Holy Spirit. Close the doors, stay right there until it happens. He promised It would do it. And He promised it, and He'll keep His promise. He's just as true to His promise as He is to appear here before us. Lord, bless them.
E-102 Ministers, are you here? Preachers, laymen that's interested, and watching, are getting people to receive the Holy Spirit. It's your post of duty now; go with them. Stand by your people. You well-trained men, experienced with the Holy Spirit, you well-trained women that knows what it means, you get with them sisters back there where they are. You that knows what to do, stay with them back there now. Right now's the time for you. This is when your post of duty. This is your color now, to go. God bless you. That's right. Just take your place, and go right in with them there, and stay there and be sure that--that it's done, and done right. Stay there until you see the sweetness of Christ in each one of them. God will honor you for it. Amen and amen.
E-103 Oh, I
love that. Just look what's went back in there. Is there one more in
here that did not go in, that should go in? If there is, will you get
up and follow these personal workers right in? Do it, will you? If
there's one in here that--that doesn't feel that you're just where you
should be...
Now, remember, brother, sister, I--I cannot make this happen. See? God
is the One Who does these things, not me. Now, I pray that God will
just grant these things to you, and give you an experience of the
baptism of the Holy Spirit. All you people now that love the Lord
Jesus, and wants to go in and pray, go back there now and pray with
these people, will you? Thank you. Thank you very kindly.
E-104 You
know, when I see personal workers going with people, I have... I want
to say this about you people here. That proves what you're made of.
See? I've went to places, even in people who's supposed to be
Spirit-filled people, and see altar calls made. And, why, you couldn't
get people to go in with anybody to pray with them. See, that shows
it's Ichabod. The Spirit of the Lord has departed. See? But when you
see that zeal, and fire, and longing--long for human souls...
You notice through the week I've just took my time, and watched
discernment and things like that, that the people would catch it, and
find out the Holy Spirit is near, then make that altar call. You
ministers understand what I was doing (See?) to make the altar call now
when they was convinced. Hundreds of them are in there now to receive
the Holy Ghost. Many went in with them to pray with them.
E-105 Now, if
there's anybody else here so that... I'll say this, that you have seen
the Presence of Christ this week vindicating Himself here. You've seen
Him. And now remember, that no blood will be upon me at that day, if
it's tomorrow. It's going to be one of these days. Just remember, we
are going to stand there. No matter who you are, you're going to stand
there anyhow. "Once appointed to man to die, and after that the
judgment." And we're going to stand there.
Now, if you're not perfectly sure that you got Christ, the Holy Ghost,
in your heart, and He's vindicating Himself in there with love, and
peace, and joy, and the fruits of the Spirit, and the Life of Christ
living in you--then remember, your blood's not on my hands. Neither
will He be guilty, 'cause He's appeared before you and showed Himself
here, exactly with the Scriptures. How many will witness that by
raising up your hand and say, "I've seen it this week"? That's right.
Then we're without fault, we're without excuse.
Now, is there any what's--one more that would like to come, so that I
can say, that when my time gets ready to leave here tomorrow, if the
Lord willing, I can say I'm free from all the blood from that revival.
I did my very best, Lord. I commit it to You. Now, you just... each one.
E-106 Now,
how many in here that's sick and needy now, and would like to have
prayer for yourself? Let's see you raise up your hands. All right, all
over the building. Now, I'm going to ask you to do something for me.
Now, are you believers? Now, I want you to do something for me now. Lay
your hands on one another. Just lay your hands right across on one
another. And now, look, I want you to pray, just pray.
Now, remember. All the people that's going to come into the line of
prayer tomorrow must be here early and have a prayer card. Hold it in
your hand when it comes time for the line now. If you got a loved one,
you Methodist brethren, Baptist, Presbyterian, whoever you are, if you
got sick ones that you... You come right with them. Come right on up in
the line with them. Come, get you a prayer card. 'Cause then, bring the
prayer card right on in the line. The ushers will pick it up. They'll
be... come by and prayed for. I believe God's going to do some great
things tomorrow. I'm hoping He is. That's the reason I make altar
calls, do everything I can to find favor with Him.
E-107 Now, while we all bow our heads, and you all are praying, one for the other... Now, the Bible said, "These signs shall follow them that believe." Now, you pray for the man or woman you got your hand on, for they are praying for you. See, don't pray for yourself; pray for them. Lay your hands on one another and pray. Just lay your hands... That's right. Now, pray the way you do in your church. Say, "Lord Jesus, heal this poor, dear sister, this poor dear brother, whoever it might be. They're sick, Lord. And I--I'm a believer. And I'm going to follow Your Word, and Your Word said, 'These signs shall follow them that believe. If they lay their hands on the sick, they shall recover.' And I'm laying my hands upon the sick, this sick person, this sick brother, this sick sister. I--I pray, God, that You'll confirm Your Word, and the sign will follow, and they'll be healed."
E-108 Lord
Jesus, I pray for them, and for these handkerchiefs, that in the Name
of Jesus Christ the Son of God, that You'll heal every person that's in
Divine Presence.
Satan, you've lost the battle. They've seen the Presence of Christ.
They've heard His Word, seen It manifested. Sinners are in there
seeking salvation. You've lost the battle. Come out of these people, in
the Name of Jesus Christ. Leave them, that you torment them no more,
and let the God of heaven raise them up to life again and good health
and strength. May them who are holding prayer cards not even need to
come in the prayer line tomorrow. May the Holy Spirit just surge this
group of people and heal every one of them for the glory of God. Now,
go ahead, brother.
